Trolls Guardian Angels

Part of an au I came up with where every sapient species in the Trolls-verse has a guardian angel that helped create them.

In the beginning, God made the world and sent angels to create living creatures. Every angel created a species by removing one of their body parts. The angels that made the different troll species all used their voice boxes but one of them didn’t remove her voice box but she used her shed tears and gave them her song to breathe life. Just like the various peoples are based on toys, the angels are based on ball joint mannikins. Small races have human-sized angels, Big races have giant-sized angels. 

STRING TRIBES 

Angel of the Pop Tribe: Tara (named after the Buddest mother goddess) Nonbinary; uses neopronouns ei/eim/eir. Plant motif. Appearance: Tara has green skin, ivy for hair, pink eyes with daisy petal eyelashes, feminine features, flat chest, flowers growing from eir body, and a long green tail tipped with a trefoil leaf. Tara most often wears a sleeveless gown made of flower petals and a crown made of matching flowers. The flowers change with every new Pop Tribe ruler. Powers: plant control, healing, creating music, and growing plants from eir body. Personality and relationships: Eir personality is kind and cheerful, and ei has a calm demeanor when interacting with the tribe. When angered, however, ei becomes violently protective. Is best friends with Diwata. In my au, Tara became the Troll Tree long ago, and when the trolls fled, they took buds of the tree with them to keep communicating with eim. During “True Colors” Tara awakens from the tree. 

Angel of the Rock Tribe: Camazotz (named after the Aztec god of bats) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Fire motif. Appearance: Camazots has red skin with glowing veins, solid yellow eyes with red pupils, shaggy black hair, vampire bat ears and nose, indigenous features, muscular build, glowing lava core in his chest, lava batwing arms with clawed hands and feet. He wears a gold chain necklace, and loose pants. Powers: fire control, manifesting weapons, flying, and lava manipulation. Personality and relationships: Fierce warrior who fights without mercy on behalf of his people. When not fighting, he’s very chill and goes with the flow. Will literally do anything to make the royal family happy, even fight other angels. Once had a romantic relationship with Tara.  

Angel of the Funk Tribe: Shango (named for the Yoruba Orisha associated with dance and lightning) Intersex; uses they/them pronouns. Metal Motif. Appearance: Shango has purple skin, cyber green eyes with purple sclera, green afro hair, uneven breasts, African features, and metallic patches of skin. Their clothes are Afrofuturistic and based on traditional Yoruba mens clothing. And they wear jewelry of all different metals. Powers: metal bending, technopathy, mind-reading, and projecting holograms. Personality and relationships: team dad mentality, very protective and interactive with the Funk Trolls. The royal family affectionately refers to them as “GoGo”. Uses mind powers to communicate with others. Phases through different parts of Vibe City through electric currents.  

Angel of the Classical Tribe: Brunhilde (named after the Norse valkyrie made famous by Wagner’s Ring Cycle) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Air Motif. Appearance: gold skin, gold eyes, gold hair worn in a pompadour, silver swan wings, and a silver pendant. Brunhilde most often wears a power blue Regency ball gown with matching gloves. Powers: air bending, manifesting clouds, creating music from nature, and flying. Personality and relationships: very serious, team mom mentality, builds a close relationship with each Classical leader. Once a week the Classical Trolls approach her with requests. She grants the requests as she sees fit. 

Angel of the Country Tribe: Kachina (named after spirit beings of the Pueblo people) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Stone Motif. Appearance: Native South-Western woman with orange skin, brown eyes with square pupils, and long black hair styled in two braids. She wears a traditional Hopi dress made from quilt materials, and floral patterned moccasins. Powers: manipulating rock and sand, causing earthquakes, summoning horses made of dust, and creating tornados. Personality and relationships: Butch lesbean, laidback, presides over all important Country events, chooses the new leader when necessary. In times of danger, she’s the main line of defence. 

Angel of the Techno Tribe: Tangaroa (named after the Maori sea god) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Sea Motif. Appearance: Potbellied body covered in blue scales with webbed feet and a long fishtail, coral eyes, tentacle hair that changes color, swim trunks and sash made from seaweed. Power: water bending, electric shocks, communion with sea animals, and camouflage. Personality and relationships: Cheerful goofball who avoids conflict as much as possible. Acts like a big brother to the Techno tribe. Has a close friendship with the leaders. 

SUB TRIBES 

Angel of the Reggaeton Trolls: Yucahu (named after the Taino creator deity of indigenous Puerto Rican myth) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Taino coded. Appearence: chartreuse skin, war paint on his face, vine dreadlocks tipped with leaves, yellow eyes, wears a loincloth made from braided grass. Powers: static electricity, communion with animals, and stimulating plant growth. Personality and relationships: very casual with his tribe, fun uncle energy. 

Angel of the K-Pop Trolls: Dalnim (named after the Korean goddess of the moon) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Korean coded. Appearance: Korean woman with tiger stripes, orange eyes with blue sclera, black hair in a fancy style called eo’yeo meori, and wears a traditional hanbok with snowflake pattern. Power: freezing objects, creating glowing lights, and taekwondo. Personality and relationships: sweet and affectionate, close friends with Tara and Yucahu. Bonds with a whole family of leaders instead of one specific person. 

Angel of the Jazz Trolls: Samedi (named after the Vodou loa of the dead) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Creole coded. Appearance: handsome black man with magenta eyes, permanent skull makeup, a fleur de lis tattooed on his chest, wearing a top hat, tuxedo jacket, pinstriped pants, and dress shoes. Powers: fog, illusion, manifesting skulls, and summoning ghosts (only on special occasions). Personality and relationships: very sly, very coy, communicates by playing a trumpet, has a very intimate relationship with Jazz leaders. 

Angel of the Yodel Trolls: Perchta (named after the Alpine Goddess) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Austrian coded. Appearance: fair-skinned woman with black hair, cloven hooves, and brown goat eyes, wearing a black dirndl with a red apron and floral pattern. Powers: invisibility, sonic thunderclaps, and turning into a troll-sized goat. Personality and relationships: fem lesbian, in love with Katchina, acts as a mother figure to the yodelers, very affectionate with people she likes. 

FAN TRIBES 

Angel of the Platinum Tribe: Diwata (named after the Filipino precolonial deities) Female; uses she/her pronouns. She is Filipino-coded. Appearance: curvy, plump, has platinum blonde hair, white skin, and yellow eyes. Wears a rainbow crop top and a matching saya (it's a Filipino traditional skirt), golden jewelry with rainbow diamonds, and golden tattoos on her arms, upper back, the side of her legs, and around her wrists, ankles, and tail. Powers: Despite being the shortest, she is the strongest with light powers, and aether physiology. Personality and relationships: As the eldest of the angels, Diwata is a fair but firm leader/parental figure to both the other angels and the platinum trolls, knows when the platinum leaders come to ask for favors when needed, focused on keeping nature in order but at the same time, friendly but protective and loving to her fellow angels, and the trolls, especially towards her best friend, Tara. 

Angel of the Space Tribe: Urania (named after the Greek Muse of Astronomy) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Space motif. Appearance: green skin with sparkly star freckles, floating silver hair, indigo chitin with constellation pattern. Powers: gravity manipulation, controlling starlight, summoning creatures based on constellations. Personality and relationships: intelligent, nerdy, polite, forms a psychic bond with each new leader. 

OTHER RACES 

Bergens Guardian Angel: Danu (named after the Celtic Mother Goddess) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Removed her heart to create the Bergen people. Appearance: twelve-foot-tall obese albino woman with long, shiny hair and a broken heart tattoo on her chest. Goes completely naked. When the light touches her body, it sparkles like a mirror ball. Powers: floating, light distortion, thunderbolts, telekinesis, and terraforming. Personality and relationships: She is aloof, almost apathetic, keeping distant from her people and only interacting with them when they pray to her. When the Bergens first found the Pop Trolls, they thought the trolls were a gift from Danu. 

Party Crasher Angel: Bachus (named after the Roman god of wine and revelry) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Removed part of his brain to create the Party Crashers. Appearance: Bergen-sized Mediterranean man with snake eyes, black hair, and a bald spot covered in scales. Wears a green tunic and poncho. Powers: breathes fire, and flies, creates miasma and deliriums. Personality and relationships: Well-meaning but forgetful and absent-minded. Constantly comes off as drunk. The Party Crashers still love him. One day, he wandered off, and the Party Crashers have been looking for him ever since.  

Vacay Island Angel: Kanaloa (named after the Hawaiian sea god) Male; uses he/him pronouns. Removed his hands, finger by finger, to create the first  Vacaytioners. Appearance: twenty-foot-tall Hawaiian coded shark tale merman with sunset-colored yarn hair, arms that end in shark fins, and solid black eyes. Speaks only in the native Hawaiian language. Powers: controlling waves, creating storms, forming whirlpools, and changing his size. Personality and relationships: very serious and very protective. Nothing comes to the island without him allowing it. He spends everyday underwater swimming around Vacay Island like a soldier on patrol. Once a year, he comes on shore and the Vacaytioners throw a luau. 

Mount Rageous Angel: Bast (named after the Egyptian cat goddess of festivity and warfare) Female; uses she/her pronouns. Removed her feet to create the first Rageons. Appearance: twenty feet tall, with hair made from gold fibers. Also wears a golden cat mask. She’s Egyptian coded, with bronze skin, clawed hands, and a bejeweled linen dress. After she cut off her feet, the stumps crystallized and spread up the rest of her legs. Powers: growing crystals, extending her arms and claws, seeing through the eyes of cats, and making her voice heard by everyone in Mount Rageous. Personality and relationships: She sits immobile underneath the mountain itself. She watches her people through her spirit cats but tries not to meddle in their lives. She only interacts with the Rageons when something horrible is happening, so they tend not to give her much thought. However, every Rageon has to make a pilgrimage under the mountain to see her at some point in their lives, usually after they’ve reached adulthood. 

As for people such as Cloud Guy and Crimp, I don’t know enough about their species to come up with an Angel for them.

So how would the tribes and their leaders react to the grey trolls?

Pacifically Delta Dawn,Queen Essence and King Quincy and Queen Barb.

I read from one of your posts that the grey country trolls were grey because they liked other music genres and were considered criminals resulting them getting kicked out of their home and if I'm not mistaken a few were kids?

How would they react to seeing Delta Dawn since she is mostly likely the one who made the decision.

The (some) funk trolls were researchers that were left behind so how will they feel when they meet Queen Essence and King Quincy,and how will those two react knowing how they became grey.

And how will Queen Barb react to the reasons the rock trolls left and became grey especially since one of them was deaf.

Pop: The Pop trolls try to welcome back the grey trolls with open arms. (They are so happy by the discovery of them Because friendship) Who for some reason aren’t to excited to come back? I wonder why.. (The grey trolls are way to scared of what the pop tribe is like they basically took a break from being “happy”like the others and now see how messed up everything is) The Pop tribe is determined to bring there colors back no matter what (I’m talking loud obnoxious parties, activity after activity, loooooonnnngg hugs that last for days, being braided to another troll who is supposed to be your fun buddy) but after a long time (and tons of reflection) they realize how messed up it all seemed. So they took it slow and let them just get accustomed to everything, a party or two a week and not a lot of loud noises (plus no more tying people together) gradually overtime the grey pop trolls are able to be in the village and not feel overwhelmed (a looooot of insecurity about being grey though)

Techno: Trollex welcomes all the Techno trolls who were lost, left or born in the grey tribe. (He was initially shocked but quickly relieved to find the missing trolls who have been gone for years!! Plus the new editions) He tries to help them as much as he can, ie fixing torn flippers, setting up a new foster system for future trollings, making sure to know who is here or missing every week, overall just trying to help with what he can to make them more comfortable (He didn’t do much wrong with the grey Techno trolls as some of the other tribes besides a few getting separated from the group by currents and no one noticing) but he tries to right whatever wrong there is…..and throw a few raves in their honor he is still a troll he will party. The grey Techno trolls greatly appreciate it and get along well with the other Techno trolls.

Funk: The absolute guilt the royal family has is insane!!! Not only did they leave behind a group of researchers, but they are the ones who asked for them TO BE THERE!!(they did go back and look for them but found nothing) they try to make amends and do whatever to help the trolls, the fact the trolls were grey because of them almost put them in an early grave. They start figuring out ways so that this situation would never happen again (I feel like trackers would be their best option) the grey Funk researchers are a little angry at the royal fam (I mean they left them so it’s a valid response) but they do forgive them on account of why they left (I’m going to say bird attack that forced them to get out of there quickly) and the fact they went back for them🥹 (the fam still does whatever to help like, making therapy a way bigger thing on the ship for others ) they also help the other grey funk trolls get accustomed to the ship and being around more trolls.

Classical: Trollzart would immediately put into action more ways for Symphony Ville to be more accessible for trolls who can’t fly, while also putting in ways for the classical trolls to get around more (I imagine they use walking cane or some form of wheelchairs to get around because like they have the bodies of literal BABIES?!?! Can they even walk on their own?!?) As for the other grey trolls they try to get accustomed to them, maybe put on performances where they show their sorrow and anguish, but also try their best to help them however they can.

Country: Oh boy… Delta is absolutely mortified by her actions. Not only did she kick out a couple of trolls from the flats (sooo much guilt) but they had kids while they were out there, kids who had to survive in the forest for years !!!( I hc that she absolutely loves kids!!) she tried her best to make what she did right (she’s been feeling guilty about it for years) the banished country trolls themselves hold a lot of resentment towards her. I mean who wouldn’t for what she did to them, but after months of holding the grudge and resentment and many many constant apologies and acts of kindness they eventually forgive Delta (there is still awkward tension between the three but they try to put it aside) Delta does absolutely whatever to fawn and show the kids love and kindness since she feels guilty about her being the reason they were grey to begin with. She also helps the other grey country trolls who either went too far away from the flats or got dragged away by predators and got lost cause of it. She tries her best to make amends for all the country trolls and their young. Now she tries to keep track of her people more and has grown a tolerance to all music. The grey trolls greatly appreciate all she does for them and their kids now. (I know I made Delta look like a bad person but this was in the past and to be fair she did lock up Poppy and Branch when she first met them sooooo… I do really love Delta though)

Rock: Barb was angered by the fact some of her people were in the forest surviving for years and grey!??!!! (She seems to be really insecure about being a leader this issue does not help her) she places a lot of guilt on herself because of this and does WHATEVER it takes to make things right!! So she implements a lot of mental health things (more therapy, rage rooms concerts about mental health) anything to bring awareness and to help. For the one deaf rock troll they go immediately to the funk trolls and soon enough hearing aids were made for the little rocker (by the way the deaf troll is like 8, i thought it would make it more angsty that a child left because they felt out of place.. and I was right!!! it makes it sooo much worse) Barb and the rock trolls basically bend over backwards to help their fellow rockers. The grey rockers greatly appreciate what has been done for them and how they got used to their survivalist antics.

Country Trolls are a surprise by Branch.

The first time Branch meeting of the Country Troll is not good at all (Happened still the same as a second movie.) after all happened all Country Trolls They thought the Branch is the same as a Pop Trolls, ooh how mistaking they were the First Troll that find out is No other the than our favourite Holly Darlin (I think ?) so one day all the trolls tried to visit Holly Darlin She saw Branch Collecting Supplies and going to the Bunker, Holly Darlin See Poppy and Ask what he is doing? In a country accent (IDK How to write) ooh Poppy said what she means He just Supplies Poppy Said Like is a natural thing, Holly Darlin Is surprised the Country Troll raised by Pop Trolls is a hard worker?.

The Second is by Clampers Buttonwillow she enters the forest thinking that the same is the desert (oh how Oh, how Ranchi she is) but Luckily Branch was in the Forest and He noticed her, Before Branch Yelling at her A critter Try to eat her and Branch throw a rock at the critter and More of them come and Branch put Clampers into his hair and He Start fight off the critter after the fight He returned to her aunt Clampers and fangirl About what happened and Delta Dawn Look at Branch the look like In a War with a cow and had won, make sure that she Doesn't Go to the forest without in a Adult Branch Looking at Delta Dawn she needs stupor, and Clampers meet Keith a fan of Branch and be come Friend.

Delta Dawn is Not sure about the Branch, after what happened to Clampers and what Holly Darlin said but This is take the cake. When Delta and the other Leaders got into Branch Bunker by Poppy quest Branch Let them to his bunker Everyone thought nothing about it until they saw the bunker It was Big but she understood that he did all of that by himself Queen Essence asked Branch How long to building the bunker He answer without thinking 20 years every Leaders at him the same Looks When they found out why the population is very low. Delta Dawn thought he is more country Trolls than any of us thought

I have this Headcanon that Trolls like Smidge, Legsly, Fuzzbert, the glitter trolls etc, are actually subtypes of pop trolls from the troll trees that were destroyed by the Bergens before the troll tree being caged. The reason no one thought Cooper was weird is because they thought he was a similar case.

Like there were several pop villages according to Band Together, so there were probably other types of pop trolls in those places right?

trolls' biology is just weird in general. i think this is only really noticeable w the pop trolls. i think one can assume that before being hunted down and entrapped their numbers were massive and allowed for a lot of variety. the thought of a pop troll civilization encompassing numerous trees in one area and having each have a higher number of a sub-type of pop troll sounds so cool!!!!!

also MAN my memory is dog water bc for the life of me i dont remember there being mention of pop villages aside from where poppy and the others live??? HOWEVER the theory of pop trolls escaping over the years and evolving into their respective sub-types i.e. k-pop feels pretty relevant to this case! evolution is weird

okay, we know how Branch found the feral things and started a grey troll village in your nomads au. And how Creek ended up in the village. BUT, how did the rest of the occupants come to be? Did they willing leave their kingdoms? Were they abandoned? Did they get lost and lose hope of anyone ever coming for them before they met the feral creatures and the others? I really wanna know some backstories.

Oooooo-This is a tough one.

Everyone in the village has there own story for why there their. These are a few examples I thought up of how they got there.

Pop: There are very few Pop trolls in the grey village (mostly due to their toxic positivity of always looking on the bright side for normal Pop trolls ) they basically were separated from the main tribe and didn’t find the putt putt trolls on there way out when escaping. Soon they lost all hope of finding the tribe and went to live in the wood (it went reeeeaaallly bad) a few were eaten and the rest went grey, they were kinda just wandering around for a few years till the (very few) nomads and feral (trolls?) showed up. They were taken in and found Branch there too. The grey pop trolls also were told were the village was but they didn’t go back because they were too ashamed about being grey.

Funk: There is a group of funk trolls in the village who all came in at the same time. They were researchers who were left behind by vibe city and had no hope of getting back to the always moving ship, so they went grey and were later found by a small hunting team and Branch while trying to create some traps to keep them safe (there are more funk trolls I’m just showing off random examples of how trolls got here)

Classical: There are a few classical trolls who can’t fly in the village due to wing injuries. The injuries go from difficult to stay in the air, to broken beyond repair, and looking at how there body is shaped (they have the bodies of LITERAL babies can they walk?) I don’t think it’s easy for them to get around since symphony vill is probably mostly made to fly around. It got too difficult for them and just left going grey in the process. 

Techno: There once was a dead techno troll who had some troll eggs with them beached on a nearby river to the village, they took in the techno eggs (The eggs HAVE to look like fish eggs right.. RIGHT?!) the trolling when they hatched just sorta knew there mother was gone and were born grey. they grew up in the village which didn’t…really help them get better and just sorta caused them more issues.(there have been a few lost techno trolls who had damaged fins to the point of not even being able to go back)

Rock: A lot more rock trolls live in the village then the other genres, mostly cause of their more feral and aggressive personalities (they look like biters) so some just had bad experiences in there lives that it just became too much and they just ended up Leaving volcano rock city. There is a rock troll who can’t hear in the village, and due to his deafness he felt like a freak to troll kind since he couldn’t even listen to music (which is kinda a big deal) he left and turned grey wandering the woods until he was found by some feral(trolls?) who have done the same routine of taking in grey trolls a lot at that point.

Country: There aren’t to many country (I feel like it would be harder for them to turn grey since they show how sad it can get in Lonesome flats) but the some who do show up have tons of kids, a while back a couple of country trolls were deemed criminals for liking another genre of music and playing it too loud, to which they were promptly kicked out of town, who later turned grey from getting forced to leave there only home. They were found fighting predators by a hunting team. (this was way before world tour so a lot less tolerance for other music)

Subgenres: There are some subgenre groups running around, like indie trolls, steam punk trolls, some grunge too (and many more) they usually are abandoned or just turn grey from living a isolated lonely life or some other reason like family was killed or taken by huge predators or what not.

Honestly most of them stay grey or go darker in color because they live in the village. It isn’t really going out of its way to help them get their color back but is really just a home for them. Growing up there influences many of the kids born there to turn grey or go grey later in their lives.

There are many other reasons why any of the trolls would be here these are just random scenariosthat I thought up to show as examples
