I have always headcannoned that all of them becoming kings is gender affirming Zazan could become a King too even if it’s not what she chose, she’s truly a trans Queen (literally)

I’m not really up to date in my knowledge of ants. I think most soldiers are usually diploid females (two copies of their genomes like us : thanks mom and dad) like with bees, males are usually haploid.

Most chimera ants appear male and are apparently able to reproduce like the King so by insemination. That role is typically male but not always like in at least one species of mosquitos where female have an appendage that penetrates the male and basically absorbs the semen.

Anyway CA might have some complications due to foreign genetic interference and horizontal transfers might be the reason most of its species workers are male. maybe sometimes it fucks up and you get females or maybe they just appear to have female characteristics of other species.

Most ants should have intersex variations to considering they also have interspecies variations like Leol here who is a mix of a tiger and a lion. In his case sex determination should be quite complementary between different mammals from the same family. Maybe not

Level E is pretty fun too, I definitely recommend it and it has one of the most fire openings out there

Yu Yu Hakusho is just sooooo good and proto HxH, you can see the influence from older nekketsu shounen like DB and Jojo’s but also how it influenced Naruto and Bleach (just the beginning is a bit slow but it builds up like Bleach, with short stories at the beginning ending up in a full tournament arc)

I love Colt

we never talk enough about him, he must have a nice hatsu too, I’d like to see it, we need more out of the box enhancers.

9. Favorite anime child

Interesting question! My favorite would have to be Zenko from One Punch Man, off the top of my head. ❤ I really like Child Emperor and Tareo, too. Hm...who else... Oh! Tenga from Mob Psycho!! 💓 There's also Mob of course, Tome, MUSASHI, and all the Body Improvement Club. So many good kids in that series. There's also Gon and Killua. I do love those two.

15. Anime you never get sick of watching

I would have to say One Punch Man, honestly. I never ever get tired of watching it over and over again. It's one of those series that I will see a million times over and I will still laugh so hard and get too excited over scenes and characters, even if I basically memorized the whole series at this point. 😌❤ And I guess I should say Hunter x Hunter? I'll rewatch episodes/scenes with Shoot and Knuckle whenever I have the need to see and hear them again. I do enjoy watching hxh as a whole though. And for nostalgia, I'll go with Pokemon. ❤

16. Ten best animes you have watched

One Punch Man - About a year ago from now, back last November, I found this series at the most perfect time. I actually got into OPM as a senior in high school, but I only watched the first episode and accidentally lost it for years after I graduated, and that was...four years ago? A friend at the time introduced me to it, but I literally just...lost it by accident. It wasn't until I saw this specific panel of Metal Bat in a tumblr post with Kenshiro and other characters (who I will recognize now right off the bat!!) that made me rediscover it! ❤

Which is absolutely crazy to think about now. I cannot believe seeing Badd helped me find my favorite show again after losing it, and now I will keep it in my heart forever. I just love this series too much. Just...so many great things associated with this series makes me love it even more, too. A few big things being that I found my best friend through it, and I have gotten so much better physically and creatively through my art. ❤❤❤ So...a huge thanks to a character I instantly loved without even knowing who he was, and a character I absolutely adore.

Hunter x Hunter - This series was something that...I really did not realize how much I was going to love it. I just took a chance and watched it back in March, and now it is one of the best things I have in my life. It's up there with One Punch Man with how special it is to me. ❤ And of course...it's so special to me because I found someone like Shoot in it, along with so many other good characters. I know I constantly talk about Shoot, but he really does help me everyday, I would never be able to explain properly. I feel like this series as a whole, along with Shoot, were things I didn't know that I needed in my life, and I could not have found them at a more perfect time.

Fist of the North Star - This is actually the first anime I ever watched as an adult, if you don't count Dragon Ball like most people do? But I would have never heard of this series if it wasn't for Joel from Vinesauce. He talked about it so much that I told myself "I have to check this out." Literally loved it to death by the first episode. It got me hooked instantly. This series actually made me incredibly emotional, I just loved Kenshiro so much. If it wasn't for this series, I wouldn't have wanted to get into anything else! This helped me find my way to OPM and JoJo and everything else, especially all of the old stuff. (I just love 80s and 90s anime too much! But that's been a given ever since I was a baby. ❤)

Mob Psycho 100 - After getting into One Punch Man, I for sure wanted to get into Mob Psycho. I knew that I was going to love it before I even thought about watching and reading it, and I did. I absolutely love it. Seriously, what a fantastic series.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Another series that Joel encouraged me to get into because he talked about it so much. It really got me curious, especially while watching his old streams playing Eyes Of Heaven and the old JoJo RPG, playthroughs which I love a lot but had no idea what was happening back then. (After watching the show I'd rewatch them and just be like !!!!! I love it even more now I understand! LOL) I remember last December just watching Part 1, 2, and the beginning of 3 all from my phone since I was without a computer for months. A very happy memory. Then I spent the beginning of this year watching Part 3 and 4, and I absolutely loved it. The whole series is so fun to watch. It really was an adventure. ❤ I still need to watch Part 5! I just haven't gotten around to it.

Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z - (Both of these go in their own spot together!) The Dragon Ball series is really first series I ever fully got into, along with the only anime I've ever watched completely. (A lot of people don't count DB as an actual anime since it's in the same category as Sailor Moon and Pokemon? But anyway) I associate the series with the summer of 2017 because I really wanted to get into it after so many years, and my friend was nice enough to lend me his account to watch it all the way through. Stayed up all day and night the entire summer break from college to watch it, I was so exhausted during that year. It brings back good memories though. 💓

Cowboy Bebop - Bebop holds a special place in my heart because it is just such a good series, but also because of my significant other. Corin absolutely adores Cowboy Bebop. He loves Spike, he loves Steve Blum, and he loves the entire series on its own. I have such good memories of just lounging around at his house and watching it.

One Piece - Even though I have a long way to go until I catch up to nine hundred episodes (!!!) I adore One Piece. 💓 I got attached to the main crew right away, and I love the story! So, so good.

Bleach - Another series I have good memories with because of Corin. We would watch it over at his house whenever I started getting into different anime last year, and just stay up late cuddled up to the tv together with it. I enjoy the series! It makes me think of what I missed out on in the 2000s growing up, but I'm happy I get to watch all of these now as an adult. It's really nice.

Initial D - Okay, the reason I put this on the list is because I absolutely love older anime. But I really do like Initial D a lot. It's something I'll watch on and off whenever I'm sleepy and need something on tv to relax to. It's a lot of fun to watch. I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep watching episodes before.

(Honorable mentions are Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, City Hunter, and so many more older ones that I really need to finish watching from the beginning.)

How exactly does Shonen Jump work? Like, I'm assuming due to Heath issues, Togashi can publish when he feels he's at his best, but what about stuff like Berserk and Jojo? I usually see those manga on hiatus. Or is weekly/monthly chapter manga only apply to newer mangakas?

i honestly don’t know very much so i can’t answer your question fully but from what i understand the bottom line is almost always success and revenue. people consider shonen jump the chopping block for a lot of manga despite it being such a popular weekly manga publication bc the turnover rate is so high. you see popular manga like naruto, bleach, one piece, boku no hero academia, etc. every week without any trouble, but there are a lot of manga that appear for a few weeks or months only to suddenly disappear shortly after…. and the reason is literally just a lack of interest or support for the series in question. there are a million and one different mangaka trying to get their manga into a magazine as popular as shonen jump so why would sj waste their time and money filling one of their precious weekly slots with something unpopular when the next naruto could be waiting to make its debut? from what i’ve heard, hunter x hunter is so ridiculously popular internationally that togashi basically has a get out of jail free card and can publish his series whenever he so chooses. it really makes sense though from a business standpoint…. it would be a foolish business decision to cut a manga like hxh from their list bc so many other weekly manga publications would pick him up and sign with him so fast.

as for berserk, i’m pretty it’s the exact same deal as hxh. i know miura has gone on multiple hiatuses due to health and personal reasons, and young animal, the magazine berserk is published in, just lets him bc berserk is too popular to let go. jojolion (part 8) on the other hand is still being published monthly without any hiatus at the moment!

1. favorite anime?

oh no we're already starting off with a tough one….. it depends on the genre honestly there's comedy shounen shoujo horror adventure all types ;;;;; but a few of my top anime are akatsuki no yona, hxh 2011, jojo, barakamon, assassination classroom, cardcaptor sakura, gatchaman crowds, code geass (season 1 mostly…… season 2 is pretty garbage), gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun, daily lives of high school boys, sakamoto desu ga, shouwa genroku rakugo shinjuu, cromartie koukou, gakkou gurashi, haikyuu, mob psycho 100, food wars, tsuritama, and love live (that's a huge list i know i just have a lot of love in my heart;;;;)

2. your worst anime?

ooohhh that depends if we're talking like shows that are just bad on their own or shows that have a ton of hype but are really just mediocre so the praise makes it even worse.. i mean i could go easy mode and say sao but i'd say some of the worst anime i've ever seen are dokuro-chan, valkyrie drive: mermaid, overlord, and kakumeiki valvrave. some overhyped shows i just found myself never caring for and am now sick of are snk, shigatsu wa kimi no uso, shirayuki-hime, kuzu no honkai, and tokyo ghoul (im sry yall they're all either basic or boring)

3. do you read the manga that goes along with the anime you watch?

occasionally, especially if the anime ends on a cliffhanger or just has more to it, though if i don't have to read the manga to get full enjoyment out of it i usually just don't

4. most favorite genre?

oh boy i like them all if they're done right.. but i've always found myself liking shounen the most just cus there are a lot of real gems in the shounen genre that people forget about or ignore (one piece, hxh, jojo). i also like suspenseful anime like mirai nikki and a lot of western-inspired shows like baccano or cowboy bebop

5. least favorite genres?

uhhHHH oh boy. well i generally dislike most shoujo if they have a focus on romance, and i also hate about 99% of all harems (yona and amagi brilliant park being the exceptions). just anything that i've seen a million times each season that i really don't need any more of

also pretty much any attempt at making a shounen that falls completely flat and everyone knows it (looking at you fairy tail)

once again a hard question cus there's a ton of anime out there and tons of those anime have HUGE casts.. i have to say i really dislike eren, mikasa, and levi from snk (but i do love most of the other characters hahaa;;), uhh let's just say any character from any show i listed above that i dislike

i always like characters that look tough but have soft interiors, and also characters that are very loyal to another character OH and just generally really sweet nice wholesome characters.. it sucks that those are the ones that usually die tho ;;;;;

9. short or long anime?

either. but if an anime runs too long and overstays its welcome then i really start to dislike it (bleach and naruto tbh…..) and on the flip side some shows are too short and don't have enough time to do all the things they wanna do and it just leaves the show feeling incomplete even though they had great beginnings (yoi, death parade to an extent, akuma no riddle). so both have their pros and cons but i say any show that goes 2 cours is generally gonna be a good way to go!

10. anime or manga?

i definitely go to anime first and foremost, one because it's more easily accessible, and two because i have severe dyslexia and it makes it hard to read when there's no color on the page (doesn't help that manga usually chooses fonts that are not very dyslexia-friendly :c ) but if i like the anime enough i usually end up at least trying out the manga, even if the anime wrapped up the entire story

11. how do you choose the anime you watch?

well i watch a lot of seasonal anime now so i just go to anichart/mal to see what's airing but i used to hate them so i would choose based off recommendations from my sister, things people say on the internet, etc. i didn't and still don't really have many friends that watch anime so it's harder for me to find non-seasonals but my mutuals do keep me busy by reblogging/retweeting shows i haven't seen

12. skip or listen to intros/outros?

i listen to it if i like it!! but if it's not very catchy or pretty to look at i will skip. oh i also skip if i'm watching a really long show because the time i spend watching the intro could be put towards binging one more ep

13. how do you cope if your friends or family don’t like you watching anime?

well if my friends don't like me watching anime i don't know why we'd even be friends! sure my friends don't really watch it but it's not like they disapprove or anything lol. and some of my friends will watch the occasional anime if i highly recommend it. as for family, well my sister is the one who got me to watch it in the first place, my mom encourages it, and i don't think my dad really acknowledges it as anything other than another interest of mine.

14. do you stop an anime midway if you don’t like it?

always.. i'm bad about that lol my dropped list on mal isn't even the half of things i drop. i'll even get all the way to the last few eps of a show and then drop it cus it's so mediocre (overlord, i dropped it at the second to last ep) or i will stop midway because i feel like i don't like the characters or plot enough to keep going (akame ga kill and shirayuki-hime) or i'll really enjoy a show for a bit and then it'll do some shitty thing and i'll drop it there (kakumeiki valvrave). but then there are some shows that are just so bad or dumb that i need to watch til the end to see how bad it is (valkyrie drive: mermaid)
