Lamb is called Witness Apollyon in this AU. I know the other Witnesses are named after Dukes of Hell, but I saw the name in a Reddit post and I fell in love with it before I discovered the naming scheme.

Their eldritch form is meant to be small and cute bc I find the idea of a glorified cotton ball kicking all the other Witnesses’ asses hilarious.

Nari starts off indulging Apollyon’s affections because he finds them amusing (plus their devotion output puts everyone else to shame), but he will develop real feelings after the whole exile thing happens

Heya! Hope you enjoy this AU I'm planning! Updates are gonna be slow cause I'm a nursing student so art isn't always gonna be my main focus but I hope you enjoy this!

Things to note about the comic— The first panel was made a while ago compared to the other two! I decided to shift the style of what I wanted to do for what kinda mood I want the comic to have which I decided to go with dramatic lighting ✨

I debated whether or not to redo the first panel to be more like the second and third but settled on keeping it as is to show that i wanted to change it a bit for later! If you notice any missing details, no you saw nothing! 🥲

I'm not used to making comics and my writing style changes from time to time but I hope to practice more with this AU!!

how the Bishops handled revival

while originally they could handle their injuries as Bishops, the same cannot be said when they're "mortal" and without their crowns.

Shamura: initially unconscious upon arrival and heavily bleeding. It’s only thanks to the quick work of Kallamar (who was on his feet by then) and the healers that prevented them from dying again. Upon coming out of a fragile state they're agitated, confused and aggressive; lashing out and hurting anyone who came near them, even their own siblings. Only Witness Allocer and Kallamar handled them. Eventually they settled, which happened much quicker with Narinder by their side. On bad days they tend to lash out or have episodes similar to dementia. That's thankfully happening less and less as time goes on. Sewing and knitting calms them so that's their job.

Kallamar: woke up and was unable to stand up straight and walk properly due to the damage to his ears. Eventually he succumbed to illness due to having a weakened immune system (he always had a weak one before the Blue Crown chose him.) Saleos mostly took care of him with Narinder helping. He had to be taught sign language for days when there's a lot of noise (think festivals). [Sign language is taught to many of the cultists. they may be a cult but they ARE inclusive!] Mostly avoids Narinder and tries not to catch Lamb's eye. Lives with Saleos (he was the youngest of Kallamar's disciples so he out lived Haborym and Baalzebub.) Will fall sick easily when there's sickness around, so as a healer he focuses his expertise on common colds (which he has an easier time shaking off) and physical injuries.

Heket: was choking on her blood when she awoke, would have died from blood loss had the healers not stepped in quick enough. Because of her ripped throat Heket was unable to eat food for several days, which was agony for her. All she could 'eat' was the water and thin broth the healers dripped into her mouth. Narinder and Leshy stayed by her side as she slowly recovered. Struggles to talk due to physical trauma so she had to be taught sign language to speak. She's a decent cook.

Leshy: was bleeding from his eyes but wasn't in any danger of dying. Was a pain in the ass for the healers however, he didn't make things easier with his wriggling and cursing. Once the pain eased, however, he calmed down and took his current situation well. It helped that Narinder kept him company. Occasionally uses a cane when there's crowds, more structures built, etc. Other than that he can get around just fine using the vibrations in the earth to help guide him. Is a farmer but does bartend on occasion.

Kallamar: oh my god i've been puking for five days straight and my head feels like it's spinning

Chapter 25: Amidst the first rain in a very long time, the lamb returns to Darkwood to collect camellias and encounters the Witness of Chaos. Then, they have a talk with faer.

before you dive in, YES! witness agares uses neopronouns. fae/faer, very similar but different to she/her. leg and i both use neopronouns, so i thought it'd be fun to shake it up a little bit :3 all of the witnesses will use neos <3

More Witness Lamb x Bishop Nari stuff

I got the idea to make the crown sentient after seeing it get its own little tent in the Penitence mode update! ^^ It can shapeshift and wander around like a pet when it’s not needed, and it often looks like a cat to copy Nari 🐈‍⬛

But as seen above, it shifts more often into a lamb while he’s trapped in the Afterlife 🐑

Nari is wearing the flower crown from the first post as a ring 🌺

In this AU, the Bishops didn’t commit sheep genocide bc they (correctly) deduced Apollyon was the prophesied Lamb. Instead, they set a trap to keep them alive and away from Narinder.

Slides my Astaroth and Allocer on over to your screens

Too silly rn to go into full details, but these two are significantly taller than most of the followers, even taller than Heket(Tallest bishop in follower form). Astaroth is simply a witness part of Kals Harem, he’s cocky and laid back, and is very much like a pirate. Allocer was like a war general for Shamura, and they also helped with any additional tasks that Shamura would be too busy to fulfill at that current moment.

Something is wrong.

Hamal knows it instantly, a sudden twinge in their belly. They freeze, quill in hand. Since Narinder is going to be so busy the next few weeks, they’ve decided to take the opportunity to work on their wedding vows. Yet it’s hard to focus with the uncomfortable heat suddenly radiating throughout their midsection. Someone in the cult has fallen violently ill. Hamal focuses, blocking out the cause of impending death, instead fixing their mind on the who. Poor old Feo perhaps, or that egg that’s supposed to hatch any day now—

It’s Kiki.

Kiki is ill and dying. Hamal sits there in stunned silence, racking their mind for a cause. With a frown, they rise from their desk and head toward the Healer’s Hut. Sudden illness is always a cause for concern. It can mean there’s a hygiene issue, or the beginnings of an outbreak. Yet somehow they doubt it.

A dark mood seizes them. Anger simmers beneath the surface. Why, they aren’t certain. But they’re going to figure it out.

Astaroth: How do you know it was poisoned with lilies?

Narinder: I sniffed it and my nose burned.

Astaroth: …and how are you feeling now?

Narinder: I have a headache but—

Astaroth: You’re staying here.

Narinder: Oh come ON.

Astaroth: You inhaled the remnants of a poison that is deadly to your species and now your head hurts. You’ve done a lot of anatomy work. Tell me— what does the nasal passage connect with directly?

Narinder, sighing: The brain.

Astaroth: Exactly. So sit.
