PREV /NEXT / FIRST (ISAT Sky: Cotl!AU!)
Dw I always have some good old fashioned fluff after every angst scene.
Also! What if Mal du pays is just like the void version of Sif and their 'homesickness' is connected to their relationship with the void and the death-rebirth cycle? Just rambling now I know but I'm trying to connect the dots.
Next up we will finally meet the forest elder!!!

Hello! I am aware that you are not drawing COTL for the moment, but do you still answer asks about it? If you do, I'd like to ask, if it isn't too spoilery: What gave you the idea to make a reincarnation AU that you are writing right now? Does being the god of cycle also include death and rebirth in that domain? How do you plan on showing Lamb's suspicious familiarity with the Red Crown? How did Narinder became a follower of the previous Red Crown bearer? Would your Red Crown have its own personality or some form of sentience, and would it recognise its former bearer's soul if so?
What is your favourite weapon, fleece, and curse to use in the game? Any OC followers?
Have an enjoyable month, eat regularly.
EEEK HIIII OH GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I ALMOST MISSED THIS ASK!!!! HIIII ❤️❤️ (speaking of which, all other asks pertaining to art reqs will be answered eventually!!! don't worry, i've seen em)
longpost and mentions of irl religion under the cut
What gave you the idea to make a reincarnation AU?
- There wasn't really any big "aha" moment when it came to the early stages of trying to find an au that i could write, but I'd been seeing fairly similar role reversal concept art on my dash for quite a while. Eventually, after I'd come up with some logical reasoning for how everything worked, I decided to write it for real :)
Does being the god of cycles also include death and rebirth in that domain?
- Yes! It's also part of the reason the lamb ever made it back to the land of the living in the first place, aside from being a genuine abstract concept.
How do you plan on showing the lamb's suspicious familiarity with the crown?
- Through dreams, primarily. The dreams don't start up until the lamb starts wearing the crown, and after that they're mostly vague bits and pieces that they oftentimes can't remember well enough to understand. On Narinder's end, it's even less certain. He can't recognize them--their soul, while it's the same, has taken up residence in an entirely new body. The possibility of them being his old god doesn't even cross his mind; why would it? He can't remember anything from his mortal life, not after spending however many years trapped in abject agony. However, he does notice how easily they seem to take to the crown in comparison to its previous bearers (ie Ratau). They bounce back almost immediately after being resurrected, and their power is amplified. He can't fathom why that might be.
How did Narinder become a follower of the previous Red Crown bearer?
- I based the worship of the Great Ones off of the worship of the actual Greek and Roman pantheons. While many people were not devoted to a specific god, it was common to leave offerings and pray to one for safe passage/victory in war/fertile soil/etc. For example, if one wanted to guarantee the safe passage of a loved one through the afterlife, they would pray to They of Cycles (although the god would do their best to safeguard deceased souls, regardless).
In contrast, Narinder grew up in a family of devouts residing in a temple to the previous bearer. From the moment he became old enough, he was an acolyte, assisting celebrants in processions and the like. As I've mentioned before, They of Cycles took on the form of a worshiper to observe their followers often. They had a tentative relationship with many in their temple, but they'd made fast friends with Narinder, too.
Would your Red Crown have its own personality or some form of sentience, and would it recognize its previous bearer if so?
- Technically, no. The crowns do not have their own personalities, and they are sentient in only the barest form.
I grew up doing witchcraft with my grandmother, and she had her own beliefs around how wands "actually worked." (And obviously I'm not trying to give commentary on anyone else's beliefs, btw! This is just how I grew up. I haven't interacted with other witches outside of my grandmother's older circle in several years.) A practician is perfectly capable of doing magic on their own, but using a wand is helpful for directing their energy during spellwork.
In the same vein, the gods are extremely powerful regardless of whether or not they posess their crowns, but the crowns are a great help when they want to focus their power toward more demanding tasks.
Where they differ, however, is the vitality of the god's conduit; gods can only last so long without their crowns. When their crown is not in their posession, a god's source of devotion is cut off completely, and they will begin to deteriorate over an extremely long period of time. This is why, by the time Narinder is free, the lamb is able to defeat him. They've had his crown for so long that he's weakened enough to be defeated in combat. Narinder recognized this risk every time he gave away his crown, but there was no other hope for escape, and as long as his vessel remained obedient and returned the crown to its "rightful owner," he would leave his prison more powerful than he entered it regardless.
Anyway, since I'm getting a teeny bit off track. No, the crown is not its own character and functions more like a wand, but it is sentient enough to recognize its true owner and begin funneling what's left of their power and memories back into their soul. Or something like that.
Favorite weapon?
- Dagger.
Favorite fleece?
- Glass cannon.
Favorite curse?
- I don't use curses. </3
Any follower OCS?
- None at the moment, but I have ideas for some that'll probably feature later in the fic!
Thank you for your well wishes! Your asks are always a joy to see in my inbox <3 I hope you have a wonderful month, as well, and make sure to get some sleep!

Me : I hate it when people make fan content just to abuse Narinder! It’s gross and weird and sounds like an excuse to write out their sick fantasies!
also me : creates an AU where The Lamb traps Narinder in an endless cycle of torture, death, and rebirth, is forced to put the Bishops to rest himself, AND has to raise the Lamb’s child after this is over.
Uhm
I’m sorry, but
I’ll be honest
What’s the context?
I… don’t really know what to say…
I don’t really do COTL stuff on this page… sure, I might RB some stuff, but that’s that.
All my main COTL stuff is on @chrysor-galewood and @cotl-restoration-au… which, if I’ll be honest, I haven’t touched in like forever.

After playing some Children of The Sun (very neat game) I had a cotl au idea
-Lamb is in a position similar to the protagonist of that game (all the lambs and their family die from the bishops, that is the motive)
-Narinder gives them, or her, I kinda like narilamb as yuri, the crown in an attempt to point their revenge the way he wants it to go. Lamb accepts their fate as the killer of the bishops because that’s what they wanted anyway.
-Lambs want for revenge crystallizes into the bullet they shoot and control after ya know watching their kind and loved ones die badly
-Bishops die, cult following happens, Lamb is rather soft spoken with the cult but still puts up a kind sunny front.
-Lamb cares for cult members a lot, just is somewhat detached. Not in the way Narinder wants, cause Lamb won’t be controlled like that anymore.
-Likely forking path, Lamb going from revenge to either like bloodlust and hatred, or moving on and helping their “new family” (cult members, Narinder, revived bishops) (A bullet for revenge will either find more targets or fly though their targets into the sky, it all depends on who holds the gun.)
-Narinder thinks sort of little of lamb for a bit, or merely as a tool. But will eventually get surprised by the sheer like, bloodlust or willingness to kill the Lamb actually has likely though Narinder seeing Lamb at feverish work in the field killing the bishops cultists and bishops again.
-Lamb does not return the crown and they fight. Neither necessarily wins, and in a strange tie the crown chooses both of them.
-Nari initially is enraged, Lamb is confused. But it eases Naris burden they find, and Lamb keeps their abilities granted to them. They are forced to work the cult together which Lamb doesn’t mind, Nari begrudgingly accepts and only to himself grows to somewhat enjoy as he has not had life to tend to in a long time since imprisonment.
-Said imprisonment was because in this au (idk why in main game) he wanted to be also the god of rebirth. Back when he was sweeter (bg3 durge line) he grew weary of being death, his siblings saw this as a potential usurpation of his role when he merely wanted to expand it somewhat.
-This ends up coming in the form of the lamb, the resurrection of followers is a crown power that came from their bearing, that is shared back to him upon the two brows
-Nari’s cruelty and anger in this au is from his imprisonment and betrayals sure, but that ebbs somewhat. Lamb on the other hand had the anguish and pain of uncounted souls filtered through them with the slaughter of the lambs. It’s only natural that something like that makes a person crack. Nari gets more time to process even if it’s not a good time, Lamb gets none.
Tldr Lamb as the one who can easily be the scary silent type while Nari is a little more mopey/sad instead of angery and aggro sounds like a fun twist, also Lamb with a sniper violently and efficiently taking out cultists would instantly snatch Naris attention methinks
Open to interpretation and change and whatnot, if you feel like scooping this au up or whatever feel free to lmao take off w/ it if it piques ur fancy
Addendum for those with amv brains, I can like see in my minds eye a little amv to this song (below) of lamb going on just a like, just a warpath of blood and smoke, with little cuts of Narinder talking to someone maybe a bishop saying he doesn’t feel lamb is fit for much violence given the way he’s seen them act. And he is told he is simply wrong and has not been paying attention. And in a cut back to lamb they recognize a cultist that like razed their village or killed loved ones before them, before they had the crown, and they just like basically tap into bishop mode out of sheer anger and violent hatred just to make the death as agonizing and bloody as possible. Hope this gets through :3👍✨

Warning ! This story could be seen as disturbing for some people seeing this story treats trauma, death, and a lot of other stuff. So if you feel unconfortable with all this please stay away from this story. If you're okay now then you can see what this AU about. Though this chapter doesn't talk about any of the warning yet I prefer saying right away.
Hello this is my first time deciding to write for a fandom and in the same time writing for one ! But anyway here is how this AU of cotl will work !
First of all this will be quite a mix of a lot of stuff. Some will be explained in the story, so I won't talk about these here. Some stuff will be here other will not and it's very far from canon... I think.
Secondly this AU came from reading a lot of different stuff and fanarts. With combination and my own spin of all the things I gathererd it will be either a mess or one of my best (and first) AU completely away from canon with still a bit of it.
Thirdly I'm going to tell you the bare minimum to understand the story the best you can.... In form of a short info style.
Info
This AU will be quite... Special ! That's the word... But so !
In this AU none of the bishops are alive, not even Narinder. So forget all about the DLC of 'relics of the Old Faith' alright ? Though some people might do an appearance from the DLC there will not be any of the DLC after that point.
This AU is also protrayed in a very far future where the lamb, that will be called Lambert, succeeded to enter the pantheon and is not really the god of death completely anymore but the god of fate. Which he has now a different crown purely white. Lambert is now considered the only god from the Land of the Old Faith.
So with all of this come the rebirth part of it where all will be reborned with no memory of what their past life was. And Lambert will find himself creating the thing he destroyed in a new form. Which will create 'The New Faith'.
Info
Welp this was a lot but still I feel like it's better to explain a bit or at least the starting point of it all before people judge it too quickly.
And also if there is some OOC I'm sorry but you must also understand that it's a rebirth so you'll need to wait to see how it goes.
All characters names except some which you know who, belongs to me ! And I guess how they look like.
Hope you enjoy !

Hewo, my name's Orchid!! I like writing about g/t mcyt, rarely I like creating some original stories when I feel up to it. I may sometimes write about noms, if you're nsfw please politely DNI. I'd rather not be involved with that.
(If you're uncomfy with the type of content that I do, please go visit another blog)
Few facts about me is that I use both Female and Non-Binary pronouns, I also use Neopronouns, which are Duck/Duckling. I'm a minor since I don't want my age out there.
And my sexuality is Pansexual.
I'm always free to chat so if you want to chat just go to my ask box and then we could chat.
I also have a ao3 account so if you want to check it out, feel free to do so.

Shepherd Nari

Every now and then, when Lamb argues with someone, she gets a little bit ~too heated~ Her temper can get to a point of her starting to be extremely aggressive towards the other side We can say these situations became way less frequent now that Narinder's here...

Technically, it wasn't Narinder who handed the crown to Lamb. This means she has little to no control over its powers. Consequently, the crown has more power over her than the other way around~ more about the crown's power dynamic featuring: Nari and Lamb on an early morning ✨

Rebirth of Death AU
So, more of that AU I've been making, but now it has a name!
I've been drawing some references, so how about I show y'all the goods?
Tumblr media
So, this is my Narinder. In this AU he is a fallen god; He gets (quite literally) kicked out of the Bishop's role for "attempting to disturb the peace of the natural order" With his power title and also crown ripped out of his hands, he's forced to pace on earth living an ordinary mortal life for his eternity (because he's still immortal), while also with the pester of being considered a heretic by most of the residents of the Old Faith; Narinder is no fool tho. He has been living for eons and eons. He has his own motives and now without the burden of bearing the crown in the name of the Old Faith's beliefs, he sees himself more than ever ready to fight for his ideals. By the day of his fall, as he opens his eyes, he's greeted by a (seemingly) sweet sheep, bearing nothing less than, yes, duh- you guessed, HIS CROWN (more about this on her ref :3c) and a bunch of cult members of some sort. It turns out she's the leader of the Red Crown Cult, and they were there to greet him and guide him to safety. He looks around and every single one of them was hurt; The crown bearer told him they encountered a lot of followers of the Old Faith already here, those considered him a heretic and wanted to end him She also said they probably got his location directly from the bishops (how SHE got the location? well, I'll explain later...) Now with the cult protection and the bearer of the crown nearby, Narinder sees his plan a little step closer...
