Simon Riley x reader
(Husband! Simon)
cw: Simon is obsessed with his wife (as he should), oral (both f and m receiving), unprotected piv, creampie
word count: 2628
a/n: this is my longest one yet, but trust me, it's WORTH IT
No one would've ever pinned Lieutenant Simon Riley for a romantic, not even you when you had first met him, really, yet you couldn't deny that your husband was full of surprises. The day you said "I do" at the altar, you didn't just get married to Simon, but to his job, too. And now, said job was the culprit behind your delayed honeymoon.
A dangerous mission had taken Task Force 141 somewhere in South America for two whole months, eight weeks in which you had barely received any updates from your husband from burner phones that made him sound like he was talking through a brick. Still, Simon never thought he would be grateful for a near-death experience, but apparently there's always a first time for everything. The mission had taken place in Costa Rica and, even though he was sent to the nasty part of it, he had been able to catch a glimpse of the crystal clear water, beautiful beaches, and the opportunities that the country had to offer to civilian tourists.
As soon as he came home to you, he had bought two plane tickets, but since his trip-planning skills were fairly limited, he hoped to make it up to you by booking the honeymoon suite at the fanciest all-inclusive resort he could find; also, he couldn't risk having you seeing the same atrocities he had while on mission.
Simon wasn't exactly the most tactful guy, so he didn't really provide any explanation when he tossed onto the bed the envelope with the two tickets inside, just a gruff "we're leaving in two days" and then he was out of the bedroom, leaving your confused, half-asleep form babbling like a fish out of the water.
You never pinned your husband for a romantic, but you couldn't have been any happier when, as you walked down the hotel's hallway to your suite, he picked you up bridal style, his heart melting at the sound of your sweet giggles, your arms wrapped around his neck as he carried you over the threshold of your room. Lucious, spacious, opening onto a small living room, an arched entryway led to the bedroom - and you wondered just how many people could fit in that gigantic bed - which was lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wooden balcony extending outside, with an opening onto your very own personal pool, and the ocean right next to it. There was also a bathtub in the bedroom, and your heart clenched with sympathy for the cleaning ladies, what they had to see- and definitely what they would see after your stay.
The staff had left a fruit basket on the bed, a little note that you were now cradling between your fingers where they expressed their gratitude for choosing their establishment and wished their best to your marriage, and a bottle of expensive champagne. "How about we wait tonight to celebrate?" Simon asked, his voice a low purr next to your ear as he encircled your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. "How about you put on one of those sexy bikinis you packed and we go enjoy the free bar, hm?" You didn't have to be told twice before eagerly agreeing, "free bar" was possibly your favourite combination of words in the English language.
You decided on a plain black bikini, with two small golden chains that ran along the underside of your breasts, and a small golden pendant that hung off the side of your bikini bottoms. Simon was wearing matching black swimming trunks, his sculpted chest carrying battle scars, tattoos lining his left forearm, ink-stained skin that you ran your fingers on countless times, memorising every line and curve. You loved Simon's body, just like every other part of him, but sometimes you forgot that he didn't exactly look like a civilian, with his crooked nose and the silver scar cutting over his bottom lip. He didn't care about the dirty side-eyed glances he received from the people that crowded the beach; as long as he had those big eyes of yours looking up at him with love, like he hung the moon and the stars, he was happy.
"How much did you pay for the whole thing anyway?" You asked, sipping on your second - perhaps third - margarita, sitting at one of the high stools that surrounded the beach bar, your feet dipped in the water. "Eh, don't even remember," Simon lied. "But I had been saving a small sum on the side for our honeymoon." Your lips curled up in a warm smile, eyes twinkling and filled with love, even as you watched your 6'4", 250+lbs husband sip on some pink fruity cocktail.
The sun was setting, so you decided to head back to your suite to get ready for dinner. How you were going to achieve that was still unclear, since you were both fairly tipsy, your arm secured around his as you couldn't stop giggling. The moment the door closed behind you, Simon picked you up effortlessly, a small squeak leaving your mouth as the room started spinning around you. "Simon, we should-" your thought was interrupted by Simon's lips, catching yours into a scorching kiss, tongue impatiently running along your bottom lip, seeking entrance, which you immediately granted, letting him delve deeper, coaxing a moan.
A growl rumbled in his chest, fingers digging in the supple flesh of your ass, pressing you against his chest impossibly closer. "Fuck the dinner," he whispered against your lips, his breath still carrying the liquor. "I need my wife." Before you could realise what was happening, your back hit the mattress, and soon Simon's weight followed as he settled himself between your thighs, caging you to the bed with two large hands on either side of your head. "And since the hotel staff was so kind..." he reached for one of the strawberries that laid in the fruit basket. "I have everything I need right here. A tasty meal," - he ran the strawberry down to the valley of your breasts, making you gasp - "and dessert." He said, sporting a cocky smirk as he brought the strawberry to his lips and bit into it.
He placed the unbitten part of the fruit between his lips, now tinted a faintly darker shade of pink, and he lowered his head. You met him halfway, snatching the strawberry with your own teeth before letting yourself fall back against the pillows. Simon watched you eat, brown irises almost eclipsed by his pupils, dilated by lust and the desire to fuck you stupid, the alcohol making his fingers itch to touch you even more. "What?" You asked, amused. He shook his head. "Just thinking about the ways I'm going to ruin you, my love." He whispered, running a hand over your bikini top, catching the small golden chain with his index finger, making you shudder with anticipation.
You never stopped being his good girl, so pliant under his touch as he undid the knots of your bikini top, discarding it onto the floor, and moved to remove your bottoms, so you lifted your hips to help him slide them down your legs. The both of you were still a little hazy, drunken giggles mixing with your breathy gasps, every touch of his fingers making your skin come alive with goosebumps. Simon took a moment to lean back and admire your naked form, the dips and curves he's memorised through the ears with every part of his body. He reached for the basket again. "Now I need you to stay still, love." He ordered with a purr, fetching some grapes, placing them in a neat line from your collarbone to your lower abdomen.
You kept your head and neck movements to a minimum, your eyes carefully following the way his fingers placed the little green grapes with care across your bare skin. A small chuckle made your chest stutter with mirth, causing one of the fruits to fall onto the mattress. Simon's eyes darkened in warning. "I said don't move, love. Or I'll have to punish you." Your eyes widened at the quietly-spoken threat, lips pressed together to suppress any unwanted sound or twitch of your body. When everything was in place, Simon slowly started to eat the grapes, lips closing around it and leaving a wet, warm mark on your body.
Once he'd caught the one that laid between your breasts, your chest suddenly caved as he proceeded to pepper the sensitive, supple flesh with more kisses, lips closing in on one of your erect nipples, making you hiss in pleasure. "Simon-" you called out with a moan. "Don't. Move." He growled, giving your other nipple a gentle pinch with his teeth, coaxing a whimper. As he continued his path down your torso, you couldn't help the giggle that involuntarily slipped past your lips when he caught the grape he'd placed on your navel, the swipe of his tongue tickling you. His large hands secured around your spread thighs, he gave them a punitive, bruising squeeze. "S- Sorry!" You squeaked meekly, earning a displeased hum from him as he chewed.
Finally, he reached the last one, and you almost bucked your hips upwards, body sizzling with anticipation. "Patience, my love," he whispered, hot breath fanning across your hooded clit as he swallowed the final grape. "Fuck..." you mewled, back arching away from the bed when he pressed his tongue flat onto your drenched slit, lapping up the arousal that had collected between your folds. He moaned, the vibration he sent against your pussy making you see stars. The alcohol in your system made you even more sensitive, your hole weeping with juices that leaked onto Simon's face, covering his lips and chin with a glistening coat.
"You taste so good, my love...fuck," he murmured, peppering your puffy lips with kisses. "So wet already, I can't wait to stretch that tiny hole with my cock." His words made you shudder, an incoherent babble leaving your mouth. "Hm? What was that, lovie?" He prompted, a wolfish grin on his face as he looked up at you through hooded eyes and bushy blonde brows. "Need...cock..." You managed to utter, hands fisting the pristine sheets as he kept his assault onto your sensitive cunt.
"Such a desperate little girl, you." He chuckled, circling your needy hole with the tip of his finger. "I know that you turn naughty after a few drinks but Jesus, baby, you're filthy tonight." His dirty talk made you chase his teasing finger with your hips, and he cooed, finally obliging to your silent plea and pushing his fore and middle finger into your needy entrance. You gasped, eyes wide open before you squeezed them shut again, He kept sucking onto your swollen and sensitive clit as he scissored against your gummy walls, stretching you out to accommodate him later. You were a squirming, moaning mess, leaking onto the bed sheets, leaving wet splotches, as you felt the heat coil in your stomach, bringing you closer to the edge.
"Simon...'m gonna..." A frustrated cry followed, as Simon withdrew his fingers and pulled away, making you prop yourself up on your elbows, brows furrowed in a scowl as he got up from the bed. "What the f-" you were silenced when he shoved his cock past your lips with one long thrust, balls hitting your chin as he buried himself in your throat. "That's it," he praised. "Good girl, take it all in that pretty mouth of yours." Hand fisting your hair in a makeshift ponytail, Simon fucked your face with deliberate thrusts, making sure you would coat the whole length of his shaft with your saliva. He grunted your name, chest heaving with ragged breaths, and he had to stop before he accidentally came in your mouth; he was more sensitive when he was drunk, but he wanted to enjoy the night to its fullest
Your lips made a soft 'pop' when Simon unsheathed himself, a string of drool still connecting your tongue to the tip of his cock. You looked up at your husband, doe-eyed, as he caught his breath. "Good girl, y/n, look at this," he held his member with one large hand. "Can't wait to fuck you stupid, love." A giddy grin grew on your lips, and you settled back onto the bed, eagerly waiting for him, but you saw him move away instead. "Si-"
"Easy, love, I'm just putting these in a safer location." He reassured you, a hint of amusement in his voice as he placed the fruit basket and the bottle of champagne onto the desk. "Though I like seeing you like this, so desperate for my cock." You merely suppressed a pathetic whimper, cheeks glowing red at his filthy words. He made his way back, putting one knee after the other, mattress dipping under his weight as he ventured one again between your thighs. "Sorry for the delay, my love," he whispered, lips skimming the sensitive side of your throat. "But I wanted our honeymoon to be perfect, to make sure I could show you exactly how I'll treat you for the rest of our lives."
His teeth sank into the thin flesh, just as his tip entered your weeping hole, your breath taken away inch after inch. Simon growled, biting down harder until he kissed your cervix, fully buried inside you. "Oh fuck, Simon-" you hissed at the delicious ache caused by the stretch, the heels of your feet pressing down on his ass to somehow get him even deeper. "What a greedy little thing you are, y/n," he murmured, chasing away the sting of his bite, running a flat tongue over the deep red mark. "Already full of my cock yet you want more, hm? We'll see about that."
You weren't sure if sex could get you drunk, but it surely looked like you were drunk off your husband's relentless fucking, his merciless thrusts making your pussy release the the filthiest squelching sounds, his lower abdomen covered in your squirt, the room filled with your voiced pleasure as he held you in a mating press, knees bent at your ears. Simon had his hands secured on the back of your legs, hips angled so he could drive his hungry dick as deep inside you as possible, a proud smirk on his lips as he watched your eyes roll back into your skull, your neck and breasts covered in red and purple-ish marks. He wasn't exactly thinking about the fact that you would have to walk around practically half naked for the next two weeks; clearly, it wasn't really one of his concerns right now.
"Simon," you called out, your hands curling around his forearms, neatly manicured nails sinking into his skin. "Please, please, please, 'm gonna cum...please!" Simon welcomed your plea, keeping the exact same pace that was driving you over the edge, and felt your gummy walls clenching his length almost painfully as the orgasm wrecked through you, making you scream out his name. Your muscles were squeezing him so tight Simon couldn't really hold on much longer, his own orgasm finding release deep inside your warm cunt, the spasms of your womb drinking his cum greedily as he grunted your name.
Silence fell once you had both rode out your high, a low, pleased hum leaving his lips as he unsheathed himself, consequently collapsing onto the bed next to you. You were both sweaty and spent, yet too tired to get up to wash yourselves. "Simon?" You called out softly after a couple of silent minutes. "Hm?" He replied lazily. "Are we going to spend every day like this?" You asked. "Oh, for sure." He chuckled, snaking a hand around your waist to bring you into his chest, nuzzling his nose in your hair. You sighed, a smile tugging at your lips. "Good."

The best places to visit with your family
A family vacation is a great investment because you may need a couch or new carpet but the furniture or the carpet will wear out; but the memories made on a family vacation will last a life time and only grow better with age.
Now where you take your pre-teens may depend on what you want to do or what they like to do.
In my opinion, here are a few of the top 10 family vacations.
Hawaii, go here for your family vacation to enjoy beautiful white sand beaches, towering waterfalls, whales, dolphins, volcanoes and more activities than I could possibly mention.
Washington DC, this family vacation would be educational as your kids would see so much history their head would spin. But if you get your kids involved in researching the different.
Museums and historical sights, let them choose which ones they want to visit, you will be surprised how excited they will get about what they are going to see.
Costa Rica, this is one of my favorite family vacation destinations for those that like adventure and nature. Costa Rican's are so friendly and proud, they want share their beautiful country with you.
While drifting down a river you will see trees full of howling monkeys, toucans and other colorful birds, crocodiles and lizard like creatures that seem to walk on water. On this family vacations you can
Visit frog farms at night and zip through the tree tops during the day or simply relax at the beach.
Gulf Shores Alabama State Park, if you want to stay in the US , this is a wonderful family vacation. It has gorgeous beaches, fishing, skiing, nature hikes, golf and swimming, just to name a few of the things to do.
Colorado Springs area, also a great family vacation spot in the US . Here you can white water raft, horseback ride, go to a cowboy dinner, pan for gold, rock climb; and the list goes on.
Disney, this is a given. But don't forget about Disney in California . It is smaller, but there are so many other things to do in the area that it is a fantastic trip for a family vacation.
Cruises, kids love cruises because they have special activities on board for the different age groups and they make friends and before the cruise is over they will want to have sleep-overs.
Dude Ranches, Texas , Colorado , Wyoming are a few states that have Dude Ranches. These are about the closest thing in the US to an 'all-inclusive' family vacation. Here you can go on trail rides, tube float down a river, watch and sometime participate in a good old fashion rodeo. And most all meals and activities are included in the price. Activities that are included vary.
Riviera Maya, Mexico, this area has some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and amazing all-inclusive resorts. Choose the right resort and your kids will never lack for something to do. They can go snorkeling, build sand castles, sail on a sunfish, slide on huge water park slides and all of this is included in the price along with all meals and drinks.
Smuggler's Notch, VT, Located in beautiful mountains, while on this family vacation your family can spend time together mountain biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, skateboarding, painting, making jewelry, playing golf or just being quiet and enjoying the scenery around you.]
I would always check into purchasing a good travel insurance for your family travel because you never know when you will need it. I always tell my clients 'travel insurance is one of those expenses that if you purchase it and don't need it, then you feel it was a waste of money; but if you don't purchase it and loose all of your money or need the medical part of the insurance while on your trip, then you wish you had purchased the travel insurance'. So it is worth investigating.

Although tons of Europe remains improving
Even if economic increase nevertheless is sluggish. Where are the quality Countries in Europe to find a job?
Known for its bloodless winters, high taxes and sparse population, Norway is the great u . S . A . these days to work in, and discover a job. This in moderation populated resource rich country has the bottom unemployment charge in Europe of round 3.four%, and has in accordance to diverse studies- the bottom poverty price in Europe.
Most employment opportunities are in Norway's booming resource based totally industries, inclusive of the international locations oil, fuel and forestry industries. But Norway additionally boasts of a fishing and agricultural area that rent seasonal workers.
Switzerland to no ones surprise has weathered the recession well, shielded with the aid of the international locations exports in branded, high give up products like watches, and the nations banking, and financial device that still attracts worldwide depositors. Switzerland has much less than 5% unemployed, which is taken into consideration as compared to different countries in Europe.
Both Norway and Switzerland are neither within the European Union or a part of the emerging post- communist East. They keep their own currencies, and even though they each cooperate with the European Union, are efficiently independent from Brussels.
This might also have shielded them both from the great recession, even though a low population, an abundance of herbal assets does help within the case of Norway. Whilst Switzerland, produces high-ended, crafted niche products which sell internationally to clients not sincerely stricken by the current incredible recession.
Of the 163 countries to participate in a recent look at that become conducted by means of Columbia and Yale Study in Norway Universities a few were stand outs when it got here to being green. Using the usual Environmental Performance Index they set out to determine the worlds greenest countries. Measuring every united states of america by using 25 performance indicators the results have been astounding.
1. The look at confirmed that Iceland changed into via some distance the greenest usa. This is unexpected given that in 2008 it turned into 11th at the list. Their rankings for weather exchange become a 90.3, this means that that despite the fact that there were drastic weather modifications throughout the relaxation of the world they've skilled very little. Their environmental fitness rating become 95.1. This way that the population suffers from very few ailments that can be traced to pollutants or different environmental factors.
2. Switzerland got here in second with a 89.1 EPI. This is down one form 2008, now it has an environmental health rating of 92.3. The usa has strict environmental legal guidelines. And they're vigorously enforced. One of those laws prohibits automobiles form positive regions of he u . S .. You can stroll or trip a bike but not anything that emits Co2 emissions are allowed to be within the location.
3. Surprisingly Costa Rica holds the third function. Its EPI is a whopping 86.4 and the environmental health score is simplest slightly decrease at 82.2. The united states of america suffered very little climate exchange at 78.6 and that they scored a perfect a hundred as did Switzerland within the place of forestry. The country has declared its reason to become " carbon Neutral" in the next 10 years. They are projecting it'll be so in 2021. The us of a is well-known for its Ecotourism and it seems that it is working quite well.
4. Sweden is number 4 with an 86.zero EPI score. They were third a few years back however have slipped down one tier. They still maintain steady with a one hundred in forestry. They currently run the usa on systems that produces 28% of its power from renewable sources. This country is aiming to head carbon neutral via the year 2020. With the efforts and mandates they may be looking to institute it is absolutely possible.
5. Norway is your 5th greenest u . S . A . on this planet. The united states has an EPI of 81.1 and with their ban on all oil-powered systems they could effortlessly get to the primary function in some brief years.
The United States and China are countries that rating very poorly considering the overall wealth of each state, mainly whilst compared to the smaller countries like Costa Rica. If the poorer nations can take a stand for he surroundings why can not we. Southwestern areas like Arizona and southern California have lots days that are sunny they can sincerely enhance their inexperienced index by using resorting to solar fountains, sun water heaters, or rain barrels. Especially given the tiny quantity of rain those states receive, it might be very effective for these states to take into account using Rain Barrels.

Costa Rica is the country that has a very vast coastline which is located on the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Due to this reason, there are some amazing and unique sports fishing spots are also found at this part of the world. Papagayo is one such spot for sports fishing and deep sea fishing where the fishing enthusiasts from across the globe use to arrive in great numbers. There are several other locations for sports fishing also located in Costa Rica. So what makes Papagayo the most unique and favorable one among them? It’s the northwest region of this country where Gulf of Papagayo is located. Abundant and diverse marine life, stunning coastal views and crystal clear water are the top elements that make Papagayo one of the most preferred spots for sports fishing. When it comes to Papagayo sportfishing Costa Rica, fishing enthusiasts are really going to receive the most amazing experiences!
In this piece of writing we are going to explore why the Gulf of Papagayo is considered as the premier destination for sports fishing. The very first thing that draws attention here is the marine biodiversity of this place that is very abundant. The waters here provide perfect shelter to a wide range of fishes that are in demand when it comes to the sports fishing. Anglers going for sports fishing here can really encounter fish species like snapper, rooster fish, wahoo, yellow fin tuna, mahi-mahi or known as dorado, sailfish, marlin, etc. it’s the marine biodiversity of this region often ensures the most thrilling and amazing fishing experiences. There are always potentials for the most impressive catches when you go for the Papagayo sportfishing Costa Rica. And that’s the reason why anglers can be seen at the waters of Papagayo most time of the year.
Fishing conditions at the Gulf of Papagayo are always favorable and ideal. This is probably the second big reason why fishing enthusiasts love to come here. Throughout the year, you can find favorable fishing conditions. Especially from November to the April which is the dry season here, the sea remains very calm and there will be always sunny weather which makes this place ideal for Papagayo sportfishing Costa Rica. Even when the rainy season is here, there is going to be fewer storms as well as stable weather with comparison to the other places in Costa Rica. All these things ensure that fishing remains as the most viable activity throughout the year.
No matter what level of angler you are, while going for the Papagayo inshore fishing, you are always going to explore the most exhilarating experience. It’s the accessible and calm water, unique marine biodiversity as well as the experienced guides which make this the most ideal and unique fishing destination in the country.

April 2020 Fishing Report for Los Suenos, Costa Rica
An amazing shoulder month, April offers both peak billfish time and the cusp of Green Season catches for fishing charters out of Los Suenos.
The Culmination of Peak Billfish Time
We’re right now in the home stretch of prime billfish season, which runs each year from December to April. While, yes, you can find billfish in the Central Pacific all year round, these months are particularly good as migratory fish head to these waters and join with its year-long inhabitants to create some of the most fertile fishing grounds on the planet. It’s why these months are tournament time and why anglers from all over the globe, pro and novice alike, set out from the Los Suenos Marina during peak billfish season.
So what does that mean for the average charter? First, let’s dispel the myth that things are “fished out” in April. It’s not uncommon to hear that phrase, but it is just dead wrong. It doesn’t even make sense when we’re talking about catch-and-release sailfish. There is some truth to the notion that lots of billfish are heading north soon enough. Some migration is starting off right about now. But, while it may be at the tail end, April is still considered peak billfish time and the hauls we always see during this month do justify its inclusion. These days, most boats that go out looking for sailfish are getting about ten bites per trip.
More Marlin Moving In
A big reason Costa Rica is a world-class fishing destination is because there’s always something awesome around. When one kind of fish species moves out, another comes right in, with some great overlaps. And this is the case with billfish density that starts to drop at the end of April when we see a rise in marlin. The onset of the Green Season, which runs from May to November, coincides with the increase in the numbers of both blue and black marlin, with more blacks but blues are pretty abundant too.
The biggest and fastest of the species, black marlins are things of legend and you’d have a hard time finding an angler who doesn’t list hooking a black marlin as one of their best all-time fishing experiences. They can get up to around 500 to 600 pounds and have incredible strength, so you can expect a battle that lasts hours before the final victorious release. You can also expect a similar fight from blues, though they tend to be more in the 250 to 300-pound range.
If the trends of past years hold, and all signs say they will, we should be looking at prime black marlin time in April and May and get a bump in blues in June and July. And let’s not forget about striped marlin. Sure, they’re smaller than the blacks and blues, but stripeys put on amazing acrobatic displays when hooked and their numbers are really consistent, making them a great year-round catch.
Going Offshore for Yellowfins and Mahi-Mahi
This isn’t exactly the prime time for mahi-mahi. We’re looking forward to that in fall when their peak density hits in October and November. Still, you can find them if you’re going after them, usually in moderate hauls and ranging around 30 pounds, though sometimes larger.
The same can be said for tuna, which are more abundant but can be a bit spotty this time of year. While you can find yellowfins all year long, the ramp-up for the bigger ones often starts in May and runs pretty strong through summer and into fall. That’s when we’ll come across 200-pounders, but these days we’re more likely to hook yellowfins in the 30 to 50-pound range. That said, the smaller ones are found in good numbers when you come across them and offer lots of action.
Inshore for Roosters, Cubera Snappers and More
Targeting the inshore reefs always offers some tasty table fish, and we’re finding plenty of cubera snappers, roosterfish (yeah, an acquired taste), along with jacks and seabass. When going for groupers, golden and snowy, we’ve had luck bottom fishing at around 400 feet. Both fish make for great meals and even though they’re only about ten pounds each, the action is still pretty good when we come across a bunch of them.
Going into the Green Season
It seems hard to believe, as time is moving fast, but we’re just weeks away from the Green Season that starts in May. It’s then we usually see more rain, most often at night and in the late afternoons, that sweeps wood and other rainforest debris out to the sea. Under the flotsam, we’re looking forward to seeing smaller yellowfins, mahi-mahi, and the prized marlin that feed on them. Until then we’ll just enjoy sunny skies, calm seas and the last glorious days of peak billfish time.
The perfect complement to a getaway by Jaco Beach, a big game fishing trip in Costa Rica never fails to disappoint and tops the bucket list of pro and amateur anglers alike.

Save your energy for the nightlife as Tamarindo is one site that does not quit.
Enjoy bird watching at Monteverde:
A mystical feeling place located in the cloud forest, Monteverde's stunning ecosystem will leave tourists filed with wonder. Nature lovers will get the feeling of paradise here as the province features the highest number of orchids in the globe, and also being a stop for numerous migratory birds. If you are with your family, then you'll certainly love exploring the Butterfly Garden, Frog Pond, and Serpentarium. There are also many other fun activities to be enjoyed here like touring a dairy farm, horseback riding, and coffee tours that everyone will love.

Porto And Its Surroundings In Portugal
Portugal offers a pleasant cultural and linguistic escape . At the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the pretty city of Porto will know how to disorient you and restore your energy thanks to its invigorating sea air and its famous sun.
This pretty, fashionable city appeals to many, and rightly so. Porto is on a human scale and can be visited very easily on foot. Nothing better to capture all its appeal than strolling through the Ribeira district and its charming little streets. Not to mention an unmissable stroll along the Douro, ice cream in hand, to admire the Dom-Luis bridge . And these are just a few of its many strengths.
From Porto, take a trip to the UNESCO-listed Douro Valley . Bordered by vineyards, it offers you magnificent landscapes. Why not sit on a terrace and taste the famous Port wine "in situ"?
Discover Lisbon, Porto And The Douro
The city of Aveiro , meanwhile, is nicknamed the Venice of Portugal for its many canals that run through the historic center. Located less than an hour from Porto, Aveiro invites you to lose yourself in its picturesque alleys, deliciously shaded. And why not take a trip there on one of the typical boats of the region, the Moliceiros? They are superbly decorated and very photogenic. A great way to explore the city effortlessly. As for gourmets, they will appreciate tasting the local specialty, ovos moles (PDO), a shell-shaped preparation made from egg yolk and sugar. It melts on the tongue!
And if you want to explore the shores of the Atlantic Ocean , join the Costa Nova from Aveiro. This ancient small fishing village attracts visitors thanks to the Palheiros. These old fishermen's huts on stilts have been renovated and decorated with colorful stripes. The kind of decor that will saturate your camera's memory card!

Leaving After The Covid-19 In Portugal In Costa Nova
Wild Mallorca
Mallorca, this Spanish island, the largest of the Balearic Islands , offers breathtaking landscapes and unsuspected little treasures. Do not stop at its image as a Mediterranean Mecca for tourism with concrete coasts, because its strengths are far from being confined to the beaches.
First of all, the capital of the archipelago, Palma , has a very charming historic center with lively and narrow streets. And that's not all: the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Palma de Mallorca is listed by UNESCO. An ideal place to visit to admire its flamboyant stained glass windows while tasting the sweet freshness that reigns there.
To get off the beaten track and take in the sights, set off on the scenic Sa Calobra road which leads to Cap de Formentor . Discover this spectacular peninsula in the far northeast of Mallorca. Before your eyes, one of the most beautiful landscapes of the island between cliffs and small hidden coves. Everywhere, intense green, dazzling white and above all blue in all its shades. Not far from the cape, a stop is necessary at Mirador Es Colomer to admire the view. What a space and what a feeling of freedom to drive here with all windows down, your face whipped by the wind!

Puerto Vallarta vs. Cancun: Which Mexico Vacation is Right for You?
Traveling to Puerto Vallarta vs Cancun
Beach at the Paradisus Cancun/Oyster
Traveling to Mexico from the U.S. or Canada doesn’t require a separate visa for stays of less than 180 days, but visitors arriving from those countries will need a valid passport and a filled-out FMM form (these are usually handed out on the plane). Keep the section of the tourist card that you’re handed safe; you’ll need to turn it in upon leaving Mexico.
Cancun lies on the northeastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula, on the Caribbean Sea, making it a short hop — or for Midwesterners, a rare direct flight — away for those in the Great Plains and Eastern seaboard. There are plenty of flights that fly direct to Cancun from major U.S. cities across the continental 48 states, making it a popular choice for long weekends and spring breakers. Once you’re in Cancun, taxis are plentiful and generally offer a fixed fare around downtown (though always clarify the fare with the driver). Local buses are also frequent and the most common way of getting around cheaply.
Airlines like Southwest, Alaskan Airlines, and United all fly nonstop to Puerto Vallarta (PV as Americans call it) from U.S. cities. Direct flights to Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport, located on Mexico’s Pacific coast, are more common from the Midwest and West than the Eastern parts of the U.S. The airport, on the edge of PV, is shared with tourists heading next door to Riviera Nayarit. Once you’re in town, there’s a dependable public bus system that can take you around town for a cheap flat rate. Puerto Vallarta also has Uber, which makes getting around easy with an iPhone.
Beaches in Puerto Vallarta vs Cancun
Beach at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa
The beaches of Cancun have long drawn American tourists, who flock south for the area’s stretches of white sand drifting into the turquoise Caribbean Sea. It’s picture-postcard worthy, and the waves are crystal-clear and warm, contributing to its current title as Mexico’s most popular resort area, with more than 3 million annual visitors. Chances are you’ll be spending most of your time on the beach here, so it might be worth paying a bit more for a beachfront hotel. Most tourists tend to keep to their resort, but beaches like Chac Mool and Playa Delfines are fun to explore if you want to get off the property.
While Cancun is famous for its white-sand beaches, it’s the golden stretches of sand set on the Bay of Banderas that have drawn beach-lovers to Puerto Vallarta for decades. Surfers love taking their boards out into Puerto Vallarta’s Pacific waves as much as the tourists love splashing around in them, and it’s one of the country’s top spots for diving (you can rent gear from one of the shops along the beach). The bay is also a popular spot from December to March for whale-watching and from May to October for sea turtles looking for a spot to nest.
Culture and Activities in Puerto Vallarta vs Cancun
Water Sports at the Fiesta Americana Villas Cancun/Oyster
Cancun, once home to the Mayan civilization, is a gateway to the ancient peoples’ history, with plenty of tours and excursions available for those wanting to learn more about the Mayans. There are also plenty of opportunities to do so in town at the Maya Museum and San Miguelito archaeological site, both of which are in the Hotel Zone. If you plan to break away from the beach but don’t want to be part of a tour group, you’ll want to have a rental car to make the most of your time here: Chichen Itza is a two-hour drive away and there are some gorgeous freshwater cenotes to admire. Of course, Cancun is also known for being a party spot, especially during spring break season. If you want to escape the crowds, hop on the ferry from downtown for the 20-minute trip to Isla Mujeres, where there’s great diving and a blissfully quiet beach. Or take one of these unexpected Cancun day trips for some truly unique vacation memories.
Puerto Vallarta is a little more laid back, thanks to a colorful, charming Old Town, excellent markets and galleries with beautiful art and great boardwalks, which you’ll be able to spend a couple happy afternoons strolling. It’s also known for being the LGBTQ capital of Mexico, with many hotels and activities geared toward the community. Plus, for those who love mountains, the port has a stunningly rugged background, and a day trip to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens high in the mountains is well worth the 12-mile drive from town. There’s also an abundance of outdoor sports like kitesurfing, parasailing, ziplining, and sailing. For more, check out our list of the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta.
Dining and Nightlife in Cancun vs Puerto Vallarta
Pool Bar at the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort
Thanks to its roots as a fishing village, versus Cancun’s purpose-built destiny as a resort town, Puerto Vallarta’s food offerings tend to be a bit less designed for tourist palettes. As in, you’ll find taco joints and seafood from independently owned restaurants instead of a plethora of chain options. Nightlife in PV definitely exists, with most of it centered along the Malecon boardwalk, and there are a few areas to go out in the city center, too, including in the Zona Romantica. It’s also a very LGBTQ-friendly area, with clubs and activities catering to the community.
Tourists dining outside of their resorts in Cancun — many tend to go for all-inclusive packages — will find later meal times than normal at local restaurants. It’s easy to get to downtown by taxi, and tourists will find a variety of Mexican and international restaurant chains there. Cancun’s known for its wild party scene, especially in the spring-break months of March and April, and if that’s what you’re coming for, it doesn’t disappoint: Clubs offer all you can drink for a flat fee, and there are plenty of bar- and club-hopping tours — as well as foam parties and beer bongs. Coco Bongo Cancun is a tourist favorite.
Safety in Cancun vs Puerto Vallarta
Currently, the U.S. State Department has a level-two advisory for travel to Mexico, which directs travelers to “exercise increased caution in Mexico due to crime and kidnapping.” While it specifically calls out Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta’s home state, as an area for which to “reconsider travel,” it specifies further that there is no restriction on travel for U.S. government employees to certain parts of the state, including Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.
Quintana Roo, where Cancun is located, also has a level-two warning due to crime; however, there are no restrictions on travel for U.S. government employees to tourist areas in the area, including Cancun. As a reference, lots of other countries also share a level two-warning for a variety of reasons, including France, Italy, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas.

History and Hotels in Cancun vs Puerto Vallarta
Aerial Photography at the Melia Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive/Oyster
Puerto Vallarta was once a picturesque fishing village, but the arrival of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton put it in the spotlight as a vacation destination for Americans. Most of the large resort hotels are located in the marina area north of downtown (think a swank, golfer vibe), with plenty of them offering all-inclusive packages — such as Casa Velas. You’ll need transit to get to the Marina area from downtown, as you will if you stay in the Hotel Zone. The Hotel Zone in the North is a mix of luxurious properties and smaller mid-range hotels, and there’s plenty of dining and shopping nearby, but beaches aren’t quite as good as they are elsewhere in town. The South Hotel Zone is also a bit far out of town and dotted with resorts and hotels for those who prefer staying put to going into town (though if you do want to explore, there’s transit available). Downtown offers a good mix of everything, from beaches to dining. The Old Town (Zona Romantica) is newer than downtown and has a beach at its doorstep, along with cafes, restaurants, and clubs. However, it’s not as charming architecturally.
Cancun’s history extends back to its past as home of the Maya people, and a trip here should include time spent learning about their history at museums and archaeological parks, such as Chichen Itza. More recent years saw Cancun’s mid-20th-century boom as a town developed by the national government for tourists. To this end, Cancun’s Hotel Zone has over 100 properties and is generally where the tourists stay. Expect all-inclusive options from chain names as well as both ultra-luxe and cheap options. While there are plenty of properties that don’t cater as much to the spring break crowd, like the luxe Hyatt Zilara Cancun or Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, there are also plenty of ones that do, so do your research before you book your stay to make sure you’re set up for the vacation vibe you want.
Our Top Pick for a Cancun Hotel: Hyatt Zilara Cancun

Travelers heading to Cancun tend to go for all-inclusive stays located right on the beach — not having to think about costs or making daily decisions about where to eat is great for disconnecting, after all. One of the best places to stay is the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, where you can catch some sun from the sparkling white-sand beach, chill out at the free-form infinity pool, try the cocktails at the hotel’s five bars — or splash out on a swim-out room. Plus, with six restaurants offering international dishes, you’ll have plenty of options for your meals.

Our Top Pick for a Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta
Aerial Photography at the Secrets Vallarta Bay/Oyster
Located on Puerto Vallarta’s Las Glorias Beach in the South Hotel Zone, Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta is a luxe adults-only hotel that’s the perfect getaway for grown-ups looking for a chic beach fix. It does the best of an all-inclusive stay right: free (and unlimited) premium booze, a couples-treatment-focused spa, and a sandy strip of sand right outside the door. If you’d rather hang out at the pool, there are three palm-lined ones that face the ocean. Looking for nightlife? Take a cab to the Malecon, or head to Secrets on-site nightclub, Desires.

Golf In Costa Rica Is ‘Pura Vida’
He saw me before I saw him. But then he had the edge — I was on his home turf, playing golf in Costa Rica. The biggest iguana I have ever seen sat motionless 25 yards to my left while I stood on the tee of the par-5 closing hole at Reserva Conchal Beach Resort, Golf & Spa.
If only I had mimicked the focus he exhibited while staring at me, my drive might have found the fairway. And that would have led to a better second. And maybe my approach would have landed on the green, rather than in a pond fronting the green (a shot that’s more uphill than you think). And then my scorecard might not have ended with a bogey.
Fortunately, by then I had embraced the country’s informal national motto : “Pura Vida,” or pure life. It’s only golf, after all.
The hole was a challenging ending to an enjoyable course in a country I knew little about prior to a trip there last year. I heard (but never actually saw) the famous howler monkeys singing their song from trees around the property, drank a new favorite beer (a lager called Imperial), fished in the Pacific thanks to Yellowfin Charters, rode a horse through the countryside and tasted the best fried chicken of my life. But more about that later. First, the golf.
Reserva Conchal has the only Robert Trent Jones II design in Central America, and it’s good enough to have hosted the PGA Tour Latinoamerica Costa Rica Classic the past two years. The inaugural tournament in 2017 — the country’s first PGA TOUR event in more than 30 years — was won by Jose Toledo of Guatemala, while Florida native Tyson Alexander eagled the fifth playoff hole to capture the title this past May.
Set on Costa Rica’s northwest coast in the Guanacaste Region, Reserva Conchal is an hour’s ride from the airport in Liberia (the country’s main airport, in the capital city of San Jose, is approximately five hours to the southeast). A variety of accommodations, ranging from villas, condos and vacation residences to the all-inclusive Westin Golf Resort & Spa Playa Conchal, are available. The latter comes with numerous themed restaurants (the Italian offerings at Faisanella were my favorite), multiple pools, fitness center, spa and beachfront access. Construction is also currently underway for a new W Costa Rica hotel expected to open late this year with 151 rooms and suites in multiple buildings.
Don’t be surprised to hear American accents down there either; the country is a favorite destination for retirees from the U.S. Approximately the size of West Virginia with a population of five million, Costa Rica has the highest literacy rate in Latin America. There’s no daylight savings time, the average temperature on the coast is 80 degrees and the Costa Rican colon (named after Christopher Columbus, who discovered Costa Rica in 1502) offers a good exchange rate.
Soccer remains the favorite sport in the country (the national team, which reached the World Cup quarterfinals in 2014, failed to advance out of their bracket in 2018) but the course at Reserva Conchal, built in 1996, goes a long way to making golf more visible.
“At that time there were no resorts in Costa Rica,” said Robert Trent Jones II, chairman and master architect at his namesake company. “It was known as an eco-tourism place, one of the first actually. It’s very peaceful, has no army, and a lovely climate. There’s fishing, golf, and friendly people.”
The layout he and his team created exhibits just the right degree of fun and challenge.
“One of the things I like most about the course is that it has a nice rhythm to it,” said Bruce Charlton, president and chief design officer for Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects. “They gave us a very nice canvas to create the best golf holes. We were able to route the course in the way we wanted to.”
A room at Roble Sabana
Unlike his father whose motto was easy bogeys and hard pars, Trent Jones II employs a different philosophy. “We’ve always used a ‘listen to the land’ golf architecture approach,” said Charlton, who noted the company’s design team first roamed the property on horseback. “That means listening to our clients and understanding who will be coming to play the course. You’re on vacation, so why not have some fun?”
Carlos Rojas Soto has been watching guests do just that since taking the job as director of golf at Reserva Conchal in 2007. His favorite hole is the fourth, a 592-yard par-5 that climbs uphill to a green that offers Pacific Ocean views. But it’s not the hardest, especially for the pros.
“That would be the second, a 442-yard par-4,” said Rojas Soto. “The landing area is very narrow with hazards on both sides of the fairway, and the green is protected by a Guanacaste Tree and two deep send traps.”
I’d be happy enough just playing the five par 3s myself, especially the trio on the back nine, which is topped off by the 210-yard 17th requiring a carry over water to a wide but somewhat shallow and well-bunkered green. Speaking of the Bermuda Tifdwarf greens, take careful note of where you are in relation in to the Pacific Ocean to read those properly.
Reserva Conchal was the first course in Costa Rica bestowed certification by Audubon International. In fact, Charlton returned in recent years to focus on water conservation concepts by reducing turf and helping enhance the irrigation system. Various bunkers throughout the course have also been worked on as well.
As for that fried chicken? First my group of travelers took a quick shuttle to a nearby ranch where Casagua Horse Tours, run by an ex-pat American from Michigan, provides horseback rides. After moving slowly and carefully through the countryside and into a local village, we dismounted at a no-frills, town hall-type building without a hint of any restaurant.
A promise of delicious fried chicken sent quizzical looks throughout our group. Here, we wondered? No way. While we waited, a cold Imperial beer hit the spot. Then paper plates full of the promised meal were placed on the wooden picnic tables. One bite was enough to know this was a promise fulfilled, even in the most unlikely of places.
There were smiles all around, and still more golf to come at Reserva Conchal. Pura Vida indeed!
