Star Trek Day

People around the world mark Star Trek Day on September 8 to celebrate the legacy of one of the best stories, films, and T.V. shows in history. As one of the most beloved works of pop culture, “Star Trek” still enjoys a loyal fan base even after so many years. Ever since the release of the first T.V. show in the series, the “Star Trek” universe kept garnering attention and wonder at its hope-filled and futuristic vision.

History of Star Trek Day

“Star Trek” was initially conceived as a T.V. series about the cosmos. The first episode was aired in 1966, on September 8, the date of the holiday. Although the ratings of this first series kept dropping throughout the season, later installations proved much more successful. The show was canceled after some years. However, in 1969, reruns of the show helped garner a cult following.

The first “Star Trek” convention was organized in 1972, which was attended by thousands of fans, surprisingly. This attested to the success of the show and the originality of its premise, which later led to the network, Paramount, reviving the series. Paramount produced the “Star Trek” animated series, which won an Emmy Award, as well as The Motion Picture, which performed fairly well at the box office.

The first major success of the Star Trek saga would be “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” the second film in the series. Star Trek would eventually amass six film productions, all of which are now considered classics. Later on, in 1987, Paramount would reintroduce the Star Trek universe back into television, with the production of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” As of the 2000s, “Star Trek” is by far the most successful franchise for Paramount, and will continue to release additional installations to the original work. Even now, several “Star Trek”-themed T.V. shows, animated series, and movies are still in production. This cultural significance is what makes “Star Trek” deserving of a dedicated annual celebration.

taking my own headcanons of the sides and adding a lot to them. some concepts ive come up with are

Alien Reptilian Janus , this is one is a guarantee because my alien-kin ass CANNOT pass up on relating my favorite character ever to an alien. I posted his design here , not colored bc I’m stupid. Personality wise I’m thinking of making Janus a full ,, destructive force,,, I think he deserves it. planning on making him an antagonist for quite awhile .

Uhmmmm others are the twins, stuck between making Roman and Remus some kind of mermaids/sirens, but it’s feels to basic… so thinking on that. I DOO plan on making them mainly aquatic bc I like that… some sea civilization royalty. Remus would be present and close to his brother rather than far apart like my last paracosm… !!

I have no ideas for Logan , Virgil , or Patton. I’ll give them something cool… okkkk I have a smallll thing involving western type city for them but I feel it wouldn’t fit the Paracosm’s vibe … so idk BUTTT WHATEVERRR

Batman, 2022. Loved Robert Pattinson in a smudged makeup. Loved Paul Dano. Loved the music and the climate of Gotham. Another shameful example of the main female character being worked in the story quite sloppily, as the movie wouldn't really suffer without the Catwoman.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 1975. Actually good.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3, 2023. This is what they mean by 'marvelisation' tho I'm not sure if we can use it for the Marvel movie. I mean the fear of being genuine and serious oversaturation of jokes to the point of tastelessness. Rocket's backstory was less moving than that of Dr. Doofenshmirtz. But I absolutely fell for Cosmo the dog and have to add one star for her. Right into my Laika fells.

Blade Runner, 1982. Actually not that good. But Rutger Hauer was kinda hot.

Barbie, 2023. Oh boy. Really hilarious and fun in the first two thirds. Then the Kens' plot was so botched and filled with the shallowest ideas of womanhood and feminism, I felt as if I was watching something written by an 16-y.o. who just got on tumblr.

Oppenheimer, 2023. Wooooo the physicists, woooo the physics, wooooooo the Manhattan project!!!!! Woooo Cillian Murphy's beautiful eyes!!!! It was like seeing Blorbos from my papers come to life.

Brother Bear, 2003. Fucking amazing.

A Bug's Life, 1998. Good. But I'm afraid I will forever associate it with that one yaoi alice cooper poison comic. You know the one.
