she is my dnd character for curse of strahd :D she's a reborn drow, grave cleric of jergal (with two levels of paladin as well) i lomve her sm my silly.........

Pro tip for making characters that are compelling and engaging AND have a backstory you can actually do something with: give them a place to grow to and a reason to do that now.

Examples of this in some of my dnd characters:

Kul → growing to be a happy dad again, doing it cause a new crewmate reminded them of their dead child and broke the dam

Anne → growing to be a confident out butch, doing it cause there's reason to believe she might not have a choice about it

Cosmia → growing to be OK with not being their parents expectations, doing it cause they're faced with the reality that they cant

Goop -> growing to be Goop, doing it cause ae will have no other choice

The end goal is inherently tied to the backstory. The backstory can be a however long or short you need it to be to figure out what theme you want the character to explore.

The characters don't have to know where they're going. They might think they have a totally different end goal, or might not have a plan and are just reacting to what's happening, or maybe they know exactly what's going to need to happen, but you the player having a sense of where to take them and what themes to lean into will make a interesting and compelling character in the journey to the end goal, which! In itself is the goal.

Very impromptu artcollab with @squidvetica . I sketched their oc cosmia in the bus otw to work with a felt tip pen and told them to color it if they were to print my art out. It's a miracle i didnt throw up, the bus road was windy asf lmao.

omg hiii! so it's been 2 years since I posted on this blog (and since i played the sims) but i'm returning to simblr now!

this is a lookbook of outfits for my favourite specialest sim ever, her name is Cosmia and she's a modern au version of my dnd character :D she's a grave cleric (aka a holy warrior whose god is a god of death for non dnd players) so her style is kinda grungey and dark :))

Q: Why does Cosmia expose half of her chest? A: I always thought this one lady was iconic for doing it when I learned about her in history class lol. Even though Cosmia is flat chested its still just as iconic of her- it's a look ✨

Q: Why do Cosmia and her peers have multiple eyes? A: I guess the most simple answer is that they're aliens and I thought it would be cool! Heavy inspiration from Steven Universe.

Q: Will Cosmia ever date / fall in love again? A: Nooooo. Nope. There are physical health reasons for this, that will be briefly covered in the comic; But also she just loved Maia. Maia was everything to her, and even after Maia died Cosmia remains loyal to her. She lives a very happy and fulfilling life without being in an active relationship anyways. 🥰

Q: How old is Cosmia? A: As of 2021 when the comic takes place, Cosmia is 3,085 years young! ✨

Q: What is Cosmia's favorite color? A: She loves Periwinkle :)

Q: What are her silver earrings for? A: Those earrings are actually made of Magien, a metal that looks similar to silver but has a blueish hue and is warm to the touch. When she was on her home planet, she was a very proficient offensive-type magic user and had trouble controlling her power. These earrings are actually implants to help control her magic abilities since Magien is a magical conduit.

Q: Where is she from and what are her people known as? A: We'll learn more about her and her people during the second arc when Xoinu meets Cosmia. I plan on recapping some of her life during that time because she's my favorite. ✨
