"Beauty seekers who aspire for a pair of “manga legs” or “chopstick legs”—thin, long, and white gams as straight as chopsticks, like a manga character—“calf-muscle blocking surgery” has become trendy. The procedure removes some nerves on gastrocnemius muscle in order to slow its growth, leading to slimmer calves.

Compared with procedures like Botox, which require regular shots, calf surgery is lauded by online influencers as a "simple" one-time process to get rid of several “unimportant” and “rarely used” nerves with lasting effect, and allegedly no side effects. A hashtag related to the procedure attracted over 260 million views and 24,000 comments on Weibo in a couple of days in late May.

However, health experts pointed out that after these nerves are removed, people cannot walk as fast, or run or do other active sports that requires the use of calf muscles, without falling; moreover, their lower legs will probably recover to original size or even become deformed because of compensatory growth in other parts of the calf.

The procedure originated in France in 1985 as a way to treat club foot caused by spinal cord or cerebral injury. It was first performed as a cosmetic procedure in China around 2005, but is no longer offered at legitimate plastic surgery hospitals because the removed nerves cannot be recovered and the impact is irreversible, according to the Beijing News. Despite those warnings, two Beijing hospitals that the newspaper visited had received a flood of reservations for this service during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 12 to 14."

Despite this game still having a loyal and active community of fans most companies could only dream of in spite of the game itself having no major content updates since 2017, people have been feed up with the fact that Valve has done next to nothing to deal with the waves of cheater bots that have not made the game both harder to play normally (especially outside of peak playing hours) but have actively made the game toxic and even outright dangerous for players looking to have fun. In the words of this site and petition's creators:

"The bot hosters are malicious actors, using their aimbots as a vessel to endlessly attack and harass community members. They abuse the in-game text and voice chats to spread the most vile hate speech imaginable, while simultaneously advertising their “bot immunity services” in an attempt to scam the players desperately looking for a solution. They’ve used these same means to dox people’s personal information and broadcast it to the player-base against their will. Bot hosters have even gone so far as to commit actual crimes, such as using AI voice-modifiers to impersonate and slander non-consenting parties, launching persistent DDoS attacks, and have even swatted one of their most ardent critics."

Despite being over 17 years old, having a very active fanbase, and still having new seasonal cosmetics being released regularly for real money, Valve has horribly neglected this game and left in a state where its practically overrun nefarious actors exploiting the game for personal gain. Most fans don't even care about releasing a new update as big as the last one (2017's Jungle Inferno update) at this point, we just want Valve to fix the bot crisis.

On June 3rd, its heavily encouraged by the leaders of this consumer movement to post videos, screenshots, and personal accounts of players' encounters with these bots in an effort to get #FixTF2 trending and put a spotlight on Valve's neglect of the game despite continuing to profit from it. The petition itself will be sent to Valve, and all you need to do is add your email and name, and click on the confirmation email. Their site is currently getting a lot more traffic than expected, so you may need to wait over 10 minutes to receive the confirmation email and officially add your signature.

a little story to bg3 fans. back when i was super into dead by daylight, an asymmetrical online horror game, the devs released a character known as haddie kaur, an indian survivor who was by far the most important character to be added in terms of plot. well. the dbd devs, behaviour, proceeded to ignore her in favor of giving cosmetics and attention to the white characters that came out after her release.

yknow what dbd fans did? they raised hell. there was an entire twitter agenda, hashtags, haddie kaur days, people were changing their steam names, all to garner the attention of the devs and ask for change.

and guess what, it worked. the devs ACKNOWLEDGED their bias and created more skins and showcased her so much more than they ever were.

1️⃣ well, I would say that I like to upload beautiful lots for a story. If it fits the atmosphere, interior/exterior, I will take it.

But much more often it turns out that I either rebuild ready-made houses or build them myself. Although I don't really like to build, I'm quite hard to please, hehe, so I do it the way I feel, the way I see it should look.

In fact, I also often get a lot of help from the scenery from debug, and everything else is just a box with a bunch of decorative rooms inside. 😄

2️⃣ As for the gameplay, I think it's simpler than that, since I just need a nice lot for life. Most likely, I will download it and possibly make cosmetic repairs. Although there may be exceptions. In any case, I don't like the basic houses from the game agrrhhrr

how to remove the live tab (and other annoying marketing ploys) from the desktop tab menu using ublock origin

i'm not good at html, so there's probably an infinitely easier way to do this, but here's what i did if anyone finds it useful!

note: i'm using ublock origin and firefox, so if you're using a different browser or adblock program, your process may look slightly different, but the html stuff should be the same!

step 1: right-click on the tab you want to remove, and select "block element..." from the drop-down menu.

this will open a dialogue box on the lower-right corner of your screen, which looks like this:

right now, there will probably be red boxes around both the live tab and other tabs on the side menu, like the home and inbox tabs and other things you probably want to keep.

if you click "create" on the ublock window right now, this will remove all tabs that have that red box around them, so don't click "create" just yet.

step 2: select the "pick" tool from the ublock window, and click on the live tab.

step 3: once you've got the live tab selected, in the "cosmetic filters" menu, scroll until you find a line of text that contains the words "nth-of-type" and click that.

it'll be preceded by hashtags and will have a number in parentheses after the "nth-of-type" section. when you hover over this line of code in the menu, the live tab should be the only one with a red box around it. looks like this:

step 4: click "create."

this should remove the live tab from the menu. if you do what i did the first time and click the text and not the actual button, there will still be an empty space where the tab used to be, which will link you to the live landing page. to remove that, follow steps 1-4 again, this time selecting the empty space where the live tab used to be (it'll still highlight like a button would when you're using the pick tool).

here is what selecting the text vs. the button looks like:

like i said, there's probably an easier, more efficient way to do this, but this solution (if done with ublock) will stay in place even if you refresh the page.

okay so im using this stylus extension to make my dash look like this right

i changed the font size of posts to 17px with pallettes for tumblr & have cosmetic filtering on ublock and such also & am using xkit bc this site sucks without xkit

and i want to make my dash look more like this (without the weird stretching ofc)

so the right sidebar is on the right & the dash is in the middle-ish and so the posts are wider

but i also want to make the smaller text (especially the timestamps, also the urls and the blog titles and stuff) bigger bc its hard for me to read rn
