kinda wish there was a way to "gamefy" art. Play competitive ranked art. Grind art posts to get cosmethic rewards. Of course, any attempt to do this would be doomed to fail because gamers are minmaxers by nature and whatever criteria was used to reward points would be the only thing artists work on, possibly to the detriment of their own art. (e.g. if the reward is for daily posts, people would post just sketches and ignore rendering)

What's wrong, Guys?
Here it is...or it was. Sleek design, colorful and exciting, After a few attempts, they decided on this. I liked it, even though I couldn't figure it out until I was 10 years old, confused by the positive and negative spaces which didn't let me see the actual S. Once I saw it, I could never unsee it again. That's supposed to be the power of a good logo.
However, There has been several attempts of modify what seemed to be a perfect design, which withstood the passing of time.
This modifications became ridiculous after it was established it was the cote d'arms of the house of El. Due to the capricious nature of actor Marlon Brando, who insisted on wearing the S on his chest during his scenes as Jor-El, DC decided each important family on Krypton should have a distinctive mark, being the S the mark of the House of El. Good save, Donner. So, being a traditional trait of a family, it makes less sense to make modifications on it. After all, here on Earth, there is an entire pseudo science named heraldic to study such things properly. It's a rich people thing, if you get my meaning.
Such variants have no meaning in something meant to be a family distinction. All of the family.
Do you remember electric Supes? his logo was something like this:
Yeah, Close but not quite. Lightning bolt like, It also became the Supergirl family crest during the New 52
Same family, same crest...no, nope. No sense whatsoever.
Later, for the graphic novel Kingdom Come, the great Alex Ross came with yet another twist:
You may explain it saying Supes was not himself, because he lost the annoying Lois Lane and he was in mourning. Okay, maybe. Besides, you can't argue with the beauty of the design.
For the last two cinematic apparitions of Supes on the big screen, further modifications were implemented:
Superman Returns
And Cavill's version.
Okay, few twists and turns, but basically same elements. Recognizable.
It seems the only thing they need to change in Superman is the shape of his S. Not the granny panties (except for Cavill's tenure) or the omnipresent and annoying Lois. The things that's wrong is the shield, that's the problem with Superman. Well, fuck me sideways and call me Betty.
As of late, two new additions to the ever expanding S family were presented:
The new animated version
And the new feature film version (reminicent of that of KC, but with no explanation, why bother).
What not DC nor Warner understand is these are just minor cosmethic changes. Nothing will really change until Superman goes beyond a few nip-tuck changes. The character is in need of profound make over that goes beyond its look.
The problem is not the S. The prroblem is Lois Lane, Metropolis, the Daily Planet, the outdated job, Lex Luthor. If you get rid of those, I'm willing to embrace even the red granny panties.

I prefer cosmethics, medicine and such not tested on animals, but there's something odd about seeing "vegan, not tested on animals" in a bottle of dog shampoo. I'm literally putting that shit on my dog.

I met Katariina a few years ago in Helsinki, Finland.
After her mother was diagnosed with cancer, this Finnish woman started to see life in a different way. For years she had worked in the perfume industry, but her mother’s illness made her think more about health issues related to beauty products, and to want to do something.
She gathered a team of specialists and created an amazing free phone app that scans the barcode of a cosmetic product and informs the user about the safety of the ingredients. She suggestively called it CosmEthics.

Keitai Denjuu Telefang: Speed Version
Here’s Power’s brother cartridge, Speed. As I’ve previously talked about Telefang’s origins and their unfortunate fame as Pokèmon bootlegs in the western world, allow me to elaborate a few personal thoughts on the games themselves; and, again, if you want to try the series out for yourself (which I actually reccomend, if you like this genre!) head over to Wikifang to get your translation patch!
First off: while Telefang surely does fall into the collect-a-monster genre of RPGs, it should be said that it doesn’t feel like a Pokèmon game at all; if anything, the only similarities might be the (obvious) presence of monsters and overworld’s aerial view. Monsters in Telefang are not “caught”, there isn’t a “Pokèdex” nor a “Box System”; all creatures the player battles with are heavily sentient and antropomorphized, to the point that they talk just like humans, and comunicate with them via cellphones (yes, each monster has a cellphone); infact, during a battle, the player doesn’t simply send out their monsters in battle, but literally gives them a call and invites them to join the brawl. This... allows the game to have a rather peculiar battle mechanic: the player could potentially call into battle any Denjuu they’d like (ah yes, Denjuu are the creatures; Telefang instead refers to the actual battle that happens between Denjuus), but, depending on their original location and nature, Denjuus might arrive late, get lost, or simply decide not to partake at all.
And here we arrive to my second point: there are a lot of details which have appeared in Pokèmon games released after Telefang: in short, this series has predicted quite some future mechanics! Telefang has an internal clock and the overworld does show cosmethic changes between day and night, just like in Gold and Silver (which came out in Japan one year before Telefang), but the transition between these changes is smooth and gradual, just like it happens in Diamond and Pearl. Secondly, each individual monster has a nature, which will only appear from GBA-based Pokèmon titles forward, and battles in Telefang can involve up to three Denjuus at a time, a thing that was unthinkable in Pokèmon until Black and White showed up! While there are way fewer types of Denjuu available and therefore, less battle combinations, the same can’t be said about their evolutionary lines: very few monsters evolve via level-up and most final stages are achieved by gifting special items to your Denjuu, most of which can be bought in in-game stores and some of which are very unusual... why would you need a monster when you can buy a gun? Denjuus’ evolutionary lines also often consist of at least four forms and a lot of them branch out: Pokèmon instead have always preferred a simpler 3-stage evolutionary line and only recently more branching or extended lines are showing up.
And third/last point... yes, it’s a silly game, like, Japanese-kind of silly. The main fact that monsters befriend, battle, and can be called via phones (called D-Shots) is already as quirky as it sounds, yet it’s just the iceberg’s tip: Telefang’s main villain is a human who aspires to bring a dictatorship government in Denjuu’s world (where politics doesn’t exist) and your first encounter with him is during a public speech, in which no Denjuu understands what’s going on; one of the villain’s plans, furthermore, is to monopolize Denjuu’s economics by opening up... curry shops and restaurants all over the Denjuu world. It’s just such a weird game, and it’s clear that some of these themes might’ve been the reason western publishers decided not to import it. There are also some minor glitches overlooked by developers which might hint in a rushed development history (probably pushed forward by Kodansha), but they certainly don’t make the game unplayable.
Telefang’s still a rather enjoyable game if you like collect-a-monster RPGs, if you want to take a break from more famous franchises or if you want to revive your GBC library for a while. So please, allow it to get the attention it deserves and give it a shot -or should I say D-Shot? xD

Headcanon: the Auction House is a miscellaneous of Patreon, GoFundMe, and job ad newspaper for dragons. So Pete just chats and makes love beads for fellow Tundras; Davy flirts and sells cosmethics to the dragon ladies; Micky sells his crazy homemade devices to the nerdy Spirals who love them; and Mike does odd jobs with his super strenght of Wildclaw, or books gigs for the band.
excellent idea!
not sure if the AH is canon in my lore, but if it was that would work pretty well.
[edit] turns out there’s a version of that post right below this one XD

Say what you want about Superman and Lois but it has its moments. Here's one. Superman kicking Lex Luthor's ass without his powers. https://youtu.be/LSCEa7cZC7Y?si=hq5OkZskdnS_gMik
Awesome.
Is that a Superman/Lois moment?
Sure?
I seemed to me it was a Clark against Lex moment. Quite predictable. As usual, Clark went to face danger with no preparation, as if he doesn't know Luthor is a devious person, capable of anything. And the proudest member of Duck Dinasty and/or ZZ Top.
I always imagine him more in the Musk/Bezos line.
The role of Lane was, as always, that of an expectator. Stating the obvious, yes, but the same as ever. Clark did everything by himself.
If turning the street lights of a few blocks into red sun light emitters is so easy, why can't Superman carry his own yellow sun simulator? We know he has yellow sun simulators in his Fortress to speed medical procedures, so...what gives? We humans have tan beds for cosmethic aid everywhere. Why can't he, who has Kryptonian technology coming out of his ass, have a portable device for such situations?
It is said that Batso is prepared for any eventuality. It must be said, also, Superman is unprepared for everything, only trusting his lucky stars.
No wonder people don't like him.
We humans see a couple of black clouds gathering and we immediatelly grab an umbrella and rain coat. Clark sees the same and grabs the bag with the bathing trunks (red, ofcourse) and sun protection cream.
Writers are stupid or are convinced we are?
