Ok I’ve got a genuine question this time lol. I forgot when Cosmo was born, half of Fairy World blew up. Does he still manage to do that here. I can’t imagine how easy it was to have him given how magically potent and dangerous he is.

so, after a lot of personal debate on the cosmo thing, i think i've come to an interpretation i like!

cosmo has an incredible amount of magic due to his von strangle bloodline. while his mother and grandmother were above average powerful, cosmo was born with nearly the full power of a proper fey. this wouldn't be so much of a problem if cosmo's central core hadn't began producing its own magic before he was born.

when a fairy is pregnant they're not so much giving all their magic to their baby as sharing it; while yes, they expend a tremendous amount of magic to develop their young, father and baby sort of even out their magic levels between themselves.

what i'm saying is cosmo gave his dad magical backup, which is nearly unheard of in pregnancy. cosmo could handle it for longer, because his higher endurance core system matured way too early. cosmo was given access to a training wand when he began showing signs of magical backup himself at the hospital, and he proceeded to release a magic shockwave that ended up frying a power grid, knocking out half of fairy world's energy. it was kind of a catastrophe overall but euphemia still chose to love and adore cosmo anyway- blaming her own genes if anything for papa cosmo's death.

Me and @crazysaru99 were talking and made a new au.

Using some infos of the games is know the fairies had a king and queen but they are just figureheads while the fairy council are the real rules...so of course we made a whole au about this. Basically this King and Queen are put on this status by the council.

The original royal family was the Cosma Family.

Gonzo Cosma was the last fairy king of the Cosma family. He was a good ruler and had a son but sadly he was deposed after the great war against the anti-fairies and because of everything that happened he became senile.

The Fairy Council took over the government of the Fairy World and the Seelie Court was practically dissolved (om this au the nobility was what formed the seelie court)

The fairy council also chose two fairies to be the new King and Queen as figurehead while they rule behind it(Kimg Oberon and Queen Titania)

Cosmo Sr.(Papa Cosmo) was raised in a humble life by his mother who had to also took care of her husband who was going more and more senile. Eventually he met Tuli Von Strangle (Mama Cosma) whom he married. Tuli has always been very controlling and manipulative

The Von Strangle family took over the leadership of practically the entire Fairy World and eventually the fairies forgot about the Cosma family as their rulers.

The seelie court used to be formed by the strongest fairy families in the fairy world like the Cupid, the Von Strangle, the Cosma obviously and others

The Cosmas Revamp Chapter 11

Bzzzz…Bzzz…Nora’s consciousness went in and out as she flew around what seemed like the middle of nowhere. There wasn’t a soul in sight, allowing Nora to rest on a nearby rock as she finally turned herself back to normal, catching her breath and her thoughts. Who the fuck did she think she is? That bitch was lucky I didn’t have my wand on me.

As she sat down and surveyed her new surroundings, Nora dug her hands into her sweatpants money, seeing what all she had on her, though her heart dropped as she realized her phone and wand were nowhere to be found, let alone any money to survive. Maybe I shoudn’t have punched her…No, she deserved it. She shouldn’t have called me a skank! Didn’t her mom and dad teach her how to treat guests? It’s not my fault they didn’t do a very good job.

Regardless of how she felt, there was no denying of how ultimately screwed Nora was.  She had left all her stuff at Linnie’s, and there was no way in hell his mom and dad were just gonna let her waltz back in and act like nothing happened. Frankly, Nora was surprised she wasn’t facing a sue notice right about now for assault. 

As she continued to sit on the rock and ponder her next move, Nora looked around and noticed a tall, wired, metal fence with shouting sounds coming from behind. Raising her eyebrows but not wanting to get caught, Nora got up and slowly inched up towards a nearby tree to get a closer view. Fields of large, dark violet cabin-like houses lined up next to each other single-file, and groups of fairies wearing cyan-colored uniforms and helmets marched in various spots, each fairy almost perfectly in sync with each other. The shouting ended up coming from the taller fairies towards the front of each groups, calling out commands and chants for their group to copy. Out of all the houses, one of them, named Fort Jorgen, stood out from the rest, being a gray hut with even more wires around it, and the sign “Fairy World Academy” not too far from the entrance. 

Desperate not to get caught lingering, Nora began to turn away from the tree and head back towards her rock until she heard a familiar, high-pitched voice thanking someone in the distance. Turning back around, Nora felt her heart leap as she recognized Linnie’s tan suit jacket as he floated from a car and entered the Academy. What the hell..what is he doing here? No way they’re gonna let him enlist? He doesn’t seem the type..Wait, where is he going?

Nora couldn’t help but glue her eyes at the scene as she watched Linnie pass Fort Jorgen and keep walking forward. She covered her mouth as she saw him talk to one of the officers, longing to watch him get thrown on his knees and handcuffs placed on his hands for trespassing, To her shock however, one of the officers spoke to him calmly, waving him over to a building towards the end of the row; a pastel rainbow cabin decorated with rainbows, paintings of sunshines, and smiling animals and children, almost reminding her of a kindergarten. Oh..that makes a hell of a lot more sense. 

Keeping her head low, Nora used tree after tree to hide herself as she surveyed the perimeter of the camp, getting closer to the preschool-like building, watching as Linnie entered with a soft smile on his face. She waited for what seemed like an hour before Linnie left the building once more, thanking the other person profusely as he closed the door behind him.

“Linnie.”, Nora called, though careful to let her voice down. When he didn’t hear her however, Nora raised her voice, “Linnie!”

“What?”, Linnie asked, looking around until he saw Nora, shoulders tensing up slightly, “Nora, what are you doing here? I-I don’t think you’re supposed to be here.”

“I could tell you the same thing.”, Nora said, scowling but not yelling.”How the hell did they just let you in without arresting you.”

“Jorgen knew that I was coming. I had a job interview today. You know, to pay for all the things the child will need since I don’t think you’ll be any help.”

“Oh come off it! You know I’m in a bad spot right now. Sorry I’m not rich like you are.”, Nora said, crossing her arms. Linnie frowned in return.

“What do you need anyways? I thought you were gone for good.”

“Yea well you and your sister would just love that, wouldn’t you?”

“Nora, that’s not what I meant.”, Linnie sighed, “Of course I don’t condone what Daisy did, but would it kill you to be grateful for people trying to help you for once?”

“What do you mean? I’ve barely caused any trouble!”, Nora yelled, “If anything, you should be the grateful one. I remember how much you talked about wanting a family and I gave that to you. If anything, you and your family should be thanking me for helping you follow your dreams.”

“Nora you just…ugh…you just don’t get it.”, Linnie said, his tone exhausted, “Just…what do you want from me? If you’re here to convince me to get rid of the baby, it’s not happening.”

“Of course not! What do you take me for?”, Nora asked, “I just need to see if it would be possible for me to get my stuff from your house. And maybe hold some cash.”

“I don’t know. I mean, I guess I could send you stuff over to your mother’s-”

“I can’t go back there, Linnie. You know this.”

“And you know you’re not welcome back at the house.”

“You’re not listening to a fucking thing I’m telling you!”, Nora snapped, her temper getting loose for a moment before taking a breathe, “I’m sorry Linnie. This baby thing just has me stressed out.”

“Uh huh…”, Linnie groaned, Nora rolling her eyes at the lack of sympathy.

“Look, I’m not trying to stay back at that house. I just need my shit back. It’s not a lot to ask for. Plus, maybe some cash would let me stay at a hotel for a few days.”

“I’m not sure Nora. I can convince my dad to let you get your things since Daisy is off shopping, but I don’t really have a lot of money right now.”

“Oh really? But you had money to look at baby supplies earlier.”

“Yes Nora, because unlike you, the baby is my responsibility. A father is supposed to put his children before anyone else and that’s exactly what I’m doing, whether you like it or not. I don’t expect any help from you, but you’ve got to realize that my world doesn’t revolve around making sure you’re ok anymore. It revolves around making sure this baby is cared for and loved with all my heart.”

“Oh my god, give me a break.”, Nora muttered, “Fine, but can you spare at least a little cash? Just enough for me to get something to eat?”

“I suppose so”, Linnie reached into his jacket and grabbed out his wallet, pulling around a few bills before handing it to Nora, “This should get you a burger and some fries at the diner downtown if you want, or you can get some groceries from the gas station. If you want to wait for me, we can see if dad is willing to let you get your things, but I’m sorry. What mom and dad says goes, and I don’t know how willing they’d let you back in if you apologized.”

“Fine whatever. I was tired of staying there anyways.”, Nora said, rolling her eyes as she followed him towards Gonzo’s car. To her surprise, Gonzo didn’t tear into her, but instructed Nora to get her things as quick as she could and leave, taking off with Linnie to get baby supplies. After her trash bag had been gathered, Nora finally left the house for good, pocketing the little money Linnie had given her. Floating towards the bus stop towards the end of Linnie’s neighborhood, Nora took out her phone and scrolled it, somewhat surprised to receive no calls or messages from anyone other than one. She didn’t recognize the number right away, but answered it, as it started with her town’s area code.

“Fairy World Emergency Hospital. How may I assist you.”

“Uhhh..”, Nora stammered for a minute, struggling to process what was happening, “I got a missed call from you. Wrong number maybe?”

“What’s your name, ma’am.”

“Nora Cosma.”

“Oh Miss Nora..I’m so sorry. I’ve tried to call you earlier because you were one of Mary’s emergency contacts.”, the nurse said somberly, “You mother..uh..isn’t doing too well at the moment.”

“What are you talking about? What happened?”

“A neighbor called a few days ago and reported that she had blacked out at her house, lying in her own vomit. As of right now, she’s in the intensive care until and her doctors have reported that she’s extremely dehydrated and is in and out of consciousness. We’re going all we can to help her.”

“Oh…do you have any idea of when she’ll be out?”

“At this rate, I’m not sure if she’s even going to make it.”, the nurse explained, “We’ll give you a call as soon as we know more.”

“Ok then. Thanks.”

Nora hung up the phone and continued to walk back in silence before pausing for a moment. With Mary out of the house, Nora turned around headed towards her neighborhood, making her way towards the house, grateful for a bed to sleep in, even if it were going to be for a couple of days.

I’m still in the process of writing the Fairy World daily life/political and economic details on living, or whatever you want to call it. It’s a pretty big post compared to what I normally do, so it might take a bit,

In the meantime, I’m trying to mentally work out the Cosma and Fairywinkle timelines and just thought or something.

What if at some point Cosmo’s parents did love each other, but once they started having kids, all Papa Cosmo’s attention turned towards his babies, and Mama Cosma, being the class A narcissist that she is, starts resenting him for it. Almost as if the kids were the reason their marriage fell apart.

I have the Headcanon that the more power you are born with, the deadlier and more permanent your magic is, so if he were to transform anyone, it would be permanent unless the victim was insanely powerful themselves (which isn’t the case for his parents)

I like to think the straw that broke the camel’s back was when Cosmo turned his mama into a fly after she had forced him to try and use an adult wand instead of his baby rattle and she had gotten caught in a spider’s web. Papa Cosmo could have done something, but given how cold she had been towards him, he kinda just….does nothing except pick up Cosmo and go back inside, taking the wand away.

He doesn’t bother changing her back. He doesn’t even try. Just picks up his baby and leaves.

Mama Cosma was just barely able to escape and has it out for him once she finally managed to transform back to normal.

Does anyone else think about how both Cosmo and Wanda had an absent respective father/ mother and now do anything to be as present as possible in Peris life because I do.

or how both of them being 2 halves of a whole idiot probably didn’t do good in school especially Cosmo and now make sure to be encouraging and helpful to Peri when he goes through school so he doesn’t have to feel bad for not getting an A or even a B.

I’m emotional about them.

this piece originally had Peri getting an A+ because based on the show he seemed like a straight A student. But I wanted to portray how proud his parents will be of his grades no matter what so he got a B-.

Are Cosmo and Jorgen related in your AU? I've seen people say that they're distant relatives in canon (I think)

sure are! in cosmo rules [S7/E33] (iirc) it's stated cosmo and jorgen are cousins. now in my au cosmo and jorgen are a liiiiittle more distantly related..

but they still are. sometime i'll make a nice tidy family tree. but this'll do for now. nana von strangle's son married a carina cosma, and took her name (as surnames are generally matrilineal especially in high-end fairy culture)

athena didn't marry a fairy with close fey lineage so their daughter, euphemia (mama cosma) ended up as a larger-than-average fairy, and euphemia married into a low class family so by the time cosmo and ezra came around you wouldn't know they were related to the von strangles at all unless you were REEEEEALLY into the failed end of the cosma lineage

The Cosmas REVAMP Chapter 10

“Cassia, can we talk?”, Gonzo asked as he climbed into bed, watching his wife finish brushing her teeth in the adjacent bathroom. She paused for a moment to gurgle and spit her mouthwash out, before turning towards her husband.

“About?”

“About this situation. I think you might be going a bit overboard.”, Gonzo commented, moving aside so his wife could lie down.

“Gonzo, there’s nothing to talk about. My decision is final. Nora needs to leave by the time she’s 18,000. No exceptions. She can go live under an overpass for all I care.”

“Dear, that’s not what I meant.”, Gonzo sighed, “But are you really sure kicking Linnie out is a good idea? Especially when it’s going to be hard for him to get a job, at least until this child is born.”

“Well of course I don’t expect him to move out right then and there.”, Cassia explained, “I just think it’s high time he started being more responsible, especially if he intends on keeping this child.”

“You know it’s not Linnie’s fault, right? You keep talking to him and acting like he asked Nora to take advantage of him.”, Gonzo sighed, getting aggravated at his wife’s attitude, “The only one at fault here is Nora. The rest of us couldn’t have possibly saw what she was going to do coming.”

“Well, I don’t think any of that would’ve happened if Daisy didn’t just dart off the way she did on prom night.”

“Cassia, it’s not Daisy’s job to babysit her brother. She’s allowed to have a life away from him and hang out with others besides him.”

“So you think she shouldn’t have to watch out for him? Protect him like a good woman should?”

“No. I’m saying that none of this is anyone’s fault besides Nora. She’s the one who decided to drag him to a bar, she’s the one that decided to get into his pants, and she’s the only one not taking any accountability for what happened. I don’t think even she and Linnie had talked ever since we had that conversation.” Gonzo explained, “I know how much you love Linnie but you’ve got to understand, he’s not a baby anymore. He needs to learn to take care of himself, but it’s also important to realize that none of this is his fault.”

“I-I know..Gonzo”, Cassia sighed, “I’m sorry. I know I wasn’t thinking the night Linnie told us he was pregnant. I just can’t help but worry.”

“I know, but he needs our support more than ever. At the end of the day, he’s still our son, and this baby he’s having is going to be our first grandchild. Even if the circumstances are less than ideal, isn’t it a little exciting? We’re finally going to be grandparents!”

“Yea, I guess so. Just wish it wouldn’t have been this early.”, Cassia muttered, getting up and floating towards their dresser, “Are we ok on groceries?”

“Well, probably if I can just make meals and turn them into leftovers. Why?’

“Because I think it would be a good idea if you would take Linnie to get some baby supplies while I’m at work, if he’s not puking or sick to his stomach of course.”

“But didn’t you want him to provide for the baby himself.”

“Yes, but it probably wouldn’t hurt to help him out until he gets on his feet.”, Cassia said, “And I’m thinking once Nora moves out, he can turn the guest room she’s been hogging into a nursery for the baby until Linnie is able to find a place of his own.”

“Well, the problem is getting Nora out. I know what she did was wrong but I’m not sure if I feel right about kicking her out with no job.”

“Ha! After the shit she pulled, she can rot in hell for all I care. She stopped gaining my sympathy the moment she dragged him to that bar.”

“She’s still that child’s mother…”

“That’s too damn bad. Baby is probably better without her anyways.”

Gonzo sighed as Cassia turned off the light and lied back down, turning her back away from her husband as she closed her eyes. 

“Oh, and I guess tell Daisy she’s ungrounded in the morning. I’ll find a way to formally apologize to her after work.”

The next morning, Linnie jumped as he heard a loud cheer and YES! coming from outside his room. Daisy came in, dancing as she walked in, ignoring her brother’s weird looks as she dug through her closet for something to wear, setting on a lime green and yellow striped sweater, black boot-cut jeans with a flower belt, and white boots underneath.

“Where are you headed off to? I thought you were supposed to be grounded?” Linnie asked, as Daisy danced towards her dresser to brush her lime-green hair and to put on her flower clip-on earrings.

“Dad just told me I’m ungrounded, so I’m off to the mall for my friends to find an outfit for the graduation party this weekend. Are you going?”, Daisy asked, turning to face Linnie, who was wearing a velvet, tan suit jacket under a white turtleneck sweater, black pants, and tan heeled boots, “Aren’t you hot underneath all of that? What’s the occasion?”

“Well, do you remember me telling you about that daycare I applied to? I got called in for an interview!”, Linnie cheered, smiling slightly as he applied his foundation, “They said they were super impressed with my resume.”

“Well good for you. It’s nice to know at least the baby has one parent who’s making an effort.”, Daisy said, “Don’t suppose you happen to know when Nora’s leaving right?”

“Think mama said when she was 18,000”

“Yea but I’m asking, do you know when her birthday is?”

“Not really. I’ve never really thought to ask. Why?”

“Dad wanted me to ask so we could start planning.”, Daisy said, “Plus to be quite frank, I’m ready for that skank to be gone.”

“Now who the fuck are you calling skank?”, a loud, rough, female voice boomed just outside their door. Nora stood in the frame, wearing dark blue sweats, as she invited herself in the room, getting face to face with Daisy. “I’m still a guest, you know.”

“Not anymore when you turn 18,000 on…”

“None of your damn business, that’s when!”, Nora snapped, before looking at Linnie, who watching the scene unravel with horror. “Are you going to do something to defend the mother of your child or are you just going to sit there like the hoe you are-”

SMACK

All of the sudden, Nora’s eye began to swell as it reminded Linnie more and more of a blueberry. Squaring up her shoulders and raising her fists, Nora took a few more swings at Daisy, who dodged and blocked most of them; both girls ignoring Linnie’s pleas to stop. After a couple more swings, Nora took her wand out from her pocket and stuck it at Daisy, the star tip glowing violently. 

“Nora, no! Stop!”, Linnie yelled, launching himself from his seat in hopes to defend her sister. However, in the blink of an eye, Linnie watched as Daisy dropped to her knees, and her head and replaced by one of those “golden retrievers” that he had heard about in the human world.

“What’s going on here?”, Gonzo asked, before dropping the spatula he was cooking with, watching Daisy pant like a dog on her hands and knees, Nora wearing a rather arrogant smirk on her face, and Linnie looking white as a ghost. Putting two and two together, Linnie saw a hidden rage in his father that he hadn’t seen in a long time.

“You…”, he looked right at Nora, “You better get the hell out of this house, right now.”

“Make me,.” old ma-”

POOF!

All of the sudden, Nora was nowhere to be found. In place, a tiny, cyan fly buzzed around the room, with no sense of direction. Gonzo stomped inside the room and cracked open the room, swatting Nora with his wand until she flew out. He then took his wand and turned Daisy back to normal, who dropped down in confusion, wonder what happened.

“Are you ok?”, Gonzo asked, picking Daisy up.

“Uhh..yeah…w-what happened.”

“It’s ok, I’ll explain everything when your mom gets up. Is your head hurting?”

“A little..but I can take an Advil.”

“Are you going to be ok by yourself?”

“Yea Dad, I’m fine.”, Daisy said brushing herself up, “Uhhh why is the window open?”

“Don’t worry about that. You just go do what you were going to do. I’ll explain things later.”, Gonzo said, as Daisy left the room to get some Advil from the bathroom.

“What did you mean by yourself? Where are you going?”, Linnie asked. Gonzo smiled softly.

“Well, your mom had asked me to take you baby supply shopping.”, Gonzo replied, looking at Linnie’s outfit, “Are you cold, son? What’s with all the layers?”

“I’ve got my interview today, remember? At the daycare?”

“Right well…my offer still stands afterwards. Plus I think it would be good for us to talk about plans and everything that just happened. Do you need a ride?”

Food for thought:

I just came up with this on the spot and thought it would be interesting. After Papa Cosmo got with a lawyer and filed for divorce, it would be hilarious to him and Mama Cosma go to court and the judge announces that Mama Cosma has several warrants out for her arrest (that Papa Cosmo wasn’t aware of, due to Nora being really secretive) and all that plays into account why she disappeared when Cosmo was a pre-teen.
