I've been a cosplayer since 2015 and went through many fandoms (anime, games, comics, and now books). So I've got some experience.

Upfront, where I'm from the acotar book cosplay scene is not that big.

There are a lot of closed groups and just a few that are open to others. You often get ignored and never invited to shootings.

I have more than 600 followers on one platform, and as a book cosplayer, that's actually a lot because it's a niche here.

I went to a few conventions in an acotar and in a jude duarte cosplay. There, I saw a lot of smaller coslayers that were getting ignored by groups.

Also, these groups push each other on social media all the time, and if you don't do it, you get unfollowed and ignored.

They expect you to do it, but will never do it to you.

I know they don't have to include you in their group, but they expect you to treat them like royalty. And it's so sad that smaller cosplayers feel the need to prove themselves to them.

I entered the acotar cosplay scene, and it's something. If you want me to tell you about it, just let me know.
