Okey the season ended so we can talk about it now.

I think they handled the angst between Raelle and Scylla beautifully. I loved them finding each other and forgiveness. It's not just Realle forgiving Scylla. I feel like Scylla found her own redemption too. And their love stand againts everything.

Orphan Black handled Cosima x Delphine's story pretty poorly. I was worried about something like that but I'm happily surprised that Elliot come through.

Their relationship started pretty fast. So we never had time to actually see them building things with time. For me their love wasn't as strong looking or deep in season 1. But this season they took their time. We see them loving the other fiercely, kindly and of course distantly. We are sure of their love now, as Realle is sure too. 1x9 is long time ago now. The question marks are gone.

Also one of the thing that i loved about their storyline is that we never see any unreasonable drama. No cheating, nothing toxic. Most shows feed from these storylines, not even caring what they are doing to their characters arc. But there was none of that in MFS. They respected their love and made sure they didn't destroy that for the sake of drama.

Anyway,I love reading your takeaway. So what do you think about their storyline this season? Did you like it? Was there something you would change? And if you compare Seaoson 1 Raylla to Season 2, what is your takeaways.

YES! THIS! EXACTLY! I swear I get so tired of all the drama these shows throw into a relationship for no reason. Some people were legit hoping for a "love triangle" where Raelle uses M to make Scylla jealous and I'm just over here like why the fck would you even want some dumb shit like that??? Raelle and Scylla obviously love each other even tho they're not together, like it couldn't have been more obvious that they both needed to work on themselves, but people wanna throw in a whole third person just to cause more trouble smh I'm so glad Eliot didn't go down that shitty road, even Taylor mentioned in an interview that Raelle wouldn't hook up with someone else out of spite because her love for Scylla is so strong.

I LOVE the way they handled their relationship this season as well as how they handled each character's individual growth. I'm glad they gave adequate time before the Raylla reunion, they didn't have them makeup quickly, they also didn't drag out their separation longer than it needed to be. I think the entire 8th episode was exactly what they needed to go thru before they could get back together. Scylla was respectful of Raelle's boundaries, she handled Abigail's contempt towards her so well... she went in with no expectations other than to help and protect Raelle and her sisters. Raelle not only acknowledged the fact that Scylla has changed, but she defended Scylla even when they were all under Nicte's spell in the cabin... in a moment where they're all slinging mud at each other she still points out that they wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Scylla. Everything was perfect. Scylla only offered, she never pushed. Raelle kept an open mind, she didn't shut Scylla out. Their reunion couldn't have been handled any better.

I liked Raelle's storyline with Mother Mushroom, I'm glad some things fell into place by the finale but I still have questions. I really wish they would've explained how Scylla knew the seed for Mother Mushroom and how Mother Mushroom knew Raelle had that graveyard memory. I know they didn't have time to get to this in the finale but I can't help wondering if Raelle tells Scylla that Mother Mushroom is made up of dead witches... which includes Scylla's parents... that'd be interesting.

I fcking loved Scylla's storyline with adoptive mom Anacostia, then with mother-in-law Willa, and they even squeezed in a bit with foster daughter Breanna and father-in-law Edwin. Scylla's S1 storyline was completely about Raelle, so I'm happy we got to see her bonding with other people because building those relationships helped her grow. I mean it when I say "I came for Raylla, I stayed for Scyllacostia"... two women, on opposite sides, so different yet so much alike. Beautiful!

Comparing S1 Raylla to S2 Raylla... the first thing that comes to mind is while I believe their love for each other in S1 was real, by the end of that season, neither of them believed the others love was real. Raelle found out she was Scylla's mark & understandably doubted Scylla's feelings for her. Then Scylla begs for her forgiveness, making a point that she chose Raelle over the Spree, but the last thing Raelle says to her is "I'm sorry we ever met". Then you have S2 where by the end of this season, both of them know 100% that the other's love for them runs so deeply it can't be denied. We saw the love they still had for each other from the beginning, when Edwin asks Raelle about Scylla, when Willa talks about Raelle's childhood, it's written across Raelle & Scylla's faces every time they thought about the other. The difference this season was they had time to build a strong foundation for their relationship, whereas in the first season they just dove in head first.

Let me stop before I end up writing a whole novel on here 😂 I could legit go on and on about Raylla.

Fandom Questions

1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?

Involved as in ‘frantically read every book I could get my hands on, daydreamed about being part of that universe and wrote stories/made art inspired by the books, if not actual fanfiction’? Mm, probably The Chronicles of Narnia when I was six or seven. The next great obsession was The Silver Brumby when I went through my horse stage around age 12, and then Sweet Valley High when I was 15. Hahaha.

2. What is your latest fandom?

Marvel! I’m not into comics and I’m definitely not interested in consuming every last bit of canon material or memorising the variations of every universe, but I love (most of) the movies and Agents of SHIELD is pretty cool.

3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

Star Trek Voyager. No contest. I venture to suggest that the older fandoms, the ones that are all about defunct shows, are a hell of a lot more chilled. Maybe because we’ve come to terms with our shitty canon endings and learned that liking the ship you hate doesn’t make someone problematic, unlike some newer fandoms I could name (Yes I’m talking about you, Game of Thrones fans. What the fuck.)

4. Do you regret getting involved in any fandoms?

I’ve dipped a toe into one or two fandoms for shows or books I’ve really enjoyed and backed the fuck out when the vibe gets weird (oh hey, it’s GoT again), but nope. No regrets.

5. Which fandoms have you written fanfiction for?

All the Star Treks except TOS, and a Trek/MCU crossover. I’d like to write more for MCU someday. Plus I’ve written longhand entire notebooks full of teen romance shit that bore an uncanny similarity to SVH, and my first short story was a fantasy fic that featured a girl whose guardian was a wise talking lion who led her into mystical secret worlds, which is kind of familiar.

Wow. I’m going to define ‘involved in’ as ‘cared enough about to have an OTP’, but I’m guaranteed to forget a ton. In no particular order:

I’m too tired to do every fandom, and besides, I can come around to almost any ship if the headcanons (or fics) are convincing enough. I do have a few hard no-gos, but they might be someone else’s OTP so I’ll shut up about them.

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?

Reluctantly. The MCU movies are not something I ever thought I’d enjoy beyond a dull evening’s entertainment. I never expected to get attached to the characters. And yet.

9. What are the best things about your current fandom?

Voyager is my forever fandom and the only one where I’ve really interacted with other fans. The best things about it? In general, everyone is just cool, accepting, open and basically awesome. And talented. I love my Party Bus people.

10.  Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?

Sure. The 100, Veronica Mars and Agents of SHIELD are the ones I’d dip into more frequently. I really enjoy crossovers between Trek and BSG or the Stargate variants, too.

Paris x Torres. I mean, I feel them. I just don’t generally feel the need to write about them.

Actual story that was clearly fanfic? A farcical drunken romp told in the 24th century equivalent of email format called PADDemonium (see what I did there?)

22. Is there anything you regret writing?

Lol, a few things that should probably have never seen the light of day for various reasons, some of them leola related. But I’ve only deleted two fics that I can recall.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

Relieved. It’s a 30k AU Chakotay moral dilemma backstory that brings in DS9 characters, Section 31 and his longstanding history with AU Janeway. I did so much research for it (way back in the days before memory alpha and chakoteya.net) and I’m really proud of how I wound in canon stuff across series but changed a few key bits and pieces. Only problem is, it’s a sequel to ...

24. What fic do you desperately need to rewrite or edit?

... Pressure, which I can’t even read without cringing. My characterisation of Janeway, even Angry Maquis AU Janeway, is way over the top and there are moments that verge on Mills and Boon and give me first, second and third hand embarrassment. God, I’d love to rewrite it. Actually, that’s a lie. I want someone else to rewrite it so I can read it without covering my eyes and moaning.

25. What’s your most popular fanfic?

Desperate Measures, by about 70,000 light years, lol. Although Fragile Things beats it on bookmarks.

26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?

You know what? A fair percentage of the time, I think of the title first and come up with a plot second. Aside from that, I prefer shorter, punchier titles that clearly tie into the story (Flight Risk, Speechless), though sometimes it’s song lyrics (Burn Our Horizons, your body like a searchlight) or a literary quote (Required to Bear, All the Devils are Here) or a turn of phrase from the story itself (The Prisons You Inhabit). Hey that was fun. Thanks for letting me pimp the shit out of my stories.

27. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?

Ugh, it depends on the day. Summaries are harder, I think. I never want to give away too much of the plot, but there has to be enough there for people to know whether they’ll bother clicking. Funny story: I actually ran the stats on this a few months back. Here they are for your edification:

Fics with a one line plot summary = 54%

With two or three line plot summary = 18%

With a short snippet directly from the fic = 16%

With a snippet + a one line explanation = 3%

With a one line plot summary plus a line to date the fic (eg "set in season 3", “episode tag to Worst Case Scenario") or the fic prompt = 7%

Ooh. I’ll say the final scene in Explosive.

29. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not?

I used to regularly ask @jhelenoftrek​ and @littleobsessions90 to beta for me, and both of them are brilliant at it. Lately I’ve been posting without sending my stuff off for editing. This is partly because I’m impatient to get stuff out there, partly because I don’t have as much time to write/edit, and partly because I’m a little less focused on improving my writing and more on enjoying it for its own sake.

30. What inspires you to write?

Little bits of episode dialogue I haven’t noticed before, other people’s fanfiction, stray conversations, fic prompts, song lyrics, random headcanons, fever dreams, dares ...

31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?

I’ve been really lucky with comments on my fic. The least helpful comment I’ve ever received was on one of my early 30k fics and all it said was “Did you have to take the name of the lord in vain?” Which is kind of funny. The nicest thing anyone’s ever said? I’m very partial to the feedback that starts “I don’t even like this pairing/genre/trope/show but you made me love it”, and particularly “I’ll read anything you write, I don’t care what it’s about.” But all comments are gold. The little heart button is cool too.

32. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band or genre of music does it for you?

I’m not someone who can tune out music I love, or leave it in the background to inspire me. If it’s on, I’m fully invested in it. I’m that annoying person in the car who flips radio stations every three seconds until I find something I like and then it’s on 11 and I’m singing along to it. I’m also really picky but extremely eclectic, although there are genres I can’t stand (anything with autotune makes me stabby). That said, sometimes I find a song that I can’t stop listening to for weeks and often that perfect combination of music and lyrics will inspire me to write a fic. For example, I just plotted out an entire J/C story because of this song.

33. Do you write oneshots, multi-chapter fics or huuuuuge epics?

All of the above. Although I’m not sure if my longest epic is huuuuuge or just huuuge.

34. What’s the word count on your longest fic?

101,467.

35. Do you write drabbles? If so, what do you normally write them about?

I have two drabble collections. One is all J/C, full of responses to random prompts and I add to it sporadically. The other is episode additions set on Kathryn Janeway’s birthday (May 20) and added to annually.

36. What’s your favourite genre to write?

Angst, definitely. Sometimes it’s smutty angst or fluffy angst or hurt/comfort angst, but often it’s just fucking unrelenting angst. And I’m okay with that.

37. First person or third person - what do you write in and why?

I did the stats on this once, too, haha. Pretty sure I came out fairly even on first and third person with a smattering of second person in there. I’m probably even-ish on present vs past tense, too. I make it a point to mix it up to avoid my writing getting stale or same-y. And sometimes a fic doesn’t really click for me until I try it in a different POV or tense or from a different character’s perspective.

38. Do you use established canon characters or do you create OCs?

I mostly write for canon characters - the fun is in all the different ways you can interpret and imagine them - but I’ve been known to throw in the odd OC, or focus on a character who only got a brief cameo appearance, or write about someone who only appears in beta canon, or who only rates a mention on screen.

39. What is your greatest strength as a writer?

Oh, wow. I’m not sure. I guess the thing I value most about my own writing is my willingness to try different styles, characters, pairings and so on. The thing I strive for most is characterisation that feels true, and I really love it when I get comments on that. Exploring a character in a way that rings true with a reader is the best thing ever.

40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

Overly long sentences and adverb abuse, haha. No, truthfully, there comes a point in most of my fics, particularly the longer ones, when I really just want to scrap it because in my heart I know it’s dreadful. Usually that passes once I slog through the ‘I don’t wanna’ stage because I’m a bloody-minded bitch, but sometimes fics do get left in the dust half-written. Honestly, though, they’re the ones that probably should stay there.

All of the authors above for various reasons, but also august because her writing is so spare and delicate and devastating, and runawaymetaphor because she writes the most delicious Janeway/Paris, and @seperis​ because I read In the Space of Seven Days literally 20 years ago and I still haven’t recovered, and I could be here all night raving on this topic but there are still many questions to get through.

44. What ship do you feel needs more attention?

Janeway x Paris. I’m so happy there’s been a little bit of a resurgence in J/P fics lately. Thanks, @curator-on-ao3​, you’re doing the lord’s work.

I’ll also take Janeway x Johnson content any day of the week.

45. What is your all time favourite fanfic?

What the hell? I can’t pick just one! Ugh!

... but okay, here’s the first one that came to mind when I tried to think about this: if you came this way by tree. I’m not sure I’d call it my favourite, but it’s one I revisit often. Ugh, there are so many other fics I’m thinking of now that I really want to list.

46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?

Oh, that’s hard. I should probably pick an angsty smutty J/C because that’s a fair proportion of what I write and it’s good to let a new reader know what they can expect. But honestly, I think the best fic I’ve written is The Uncharted Sea. (It’s safe for work. Maybe not for makeup.)

47. Archive Of Our Own, Fanfiction.net or Tumblr - where do you prefer to post and why?

The Archive, of course. Where else can I find ad-free hosting on a stunningly user-friendly interface with absolutely no moralising content restrictions and the world’s best tagging system? That Hugo award is well deserved.

Tumblr is good for headcanons and meta and gifsets and a few other formats that I’m less likely to post on AO3 because I’d feel like I was pissing off people who subscribe to me by giving them some random garbage.

I also have my own website, but I’m not really sure why. Sometimes I post fic there that doesn’t make it to tumblr or AO3.

48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not?

I try to. Honestly I do. I love it when I get reviews, so I figure paying it forward is the least I can do. I’m less scrupulous about leaving comments when I’m busy or reading on my phone.

49. Do you care if people comment/reblog your writing? Why/why not?

I mean, I love it when people reblog, but I certainly don’t expect it. @arcadia1995​ is amazing for reblogging stuff *blows kisses*

Nobody owes fanfic writers shit, but I feel like there’s a tacit agreement that if you like what you just read for free and you’re on a platform that makes it easy to do so, you leave a review or at least a kudos, because I’m not gonna lie, posting a fic you’ve worked super hard on and seeing it get very few kudos or comments is a bit deflating. I’m sure a lot of us have been there.

50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?

During Voyager’s original run I was trawling the internet for Endgame spoilers (I don’t know why; I usually love surprises) and I guess I googled (or whatever the 2001 equivalent of googling was) something like “how does voyager get home” and somehow I stumbled across Revisionist History. At first I had no idea what I was reading - was this a lost story pitch that somehow got leaked? A professional novella commissioned by the showrunners?

Then I started following links and discovered yahoo groups and webrings and Trekiverse and fanfiction.net and all sorts of incredible things I’d never guessed at, including the now defunct ‘archipelago of angst’, a collection of Voyager writers who focused mainly on a darker Janeway than most of the other fic writers I was encountering, and I was hooked. So I wrote a few of my own pieces, and then I lost interest for 15 years. I’m still not sure how I got dragged back in.

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

Honestly, in what other way can I indulge my obsessions, hone my skills and talk about it endlessly with like-minded people? Where else can I instantly find a plethora of fiction about the exact topic I feel like reading about on my mobile device and for free? Fanfiction is fucking amazing and I’m so glad it exists in my life.

6. List your OTP from each fandom you’ve been involved in.

Oh, so many fandoms.... This won’t include everything by default of there probably being too much but I will list what I can think of! I’ll start with my more current fandoms:

Wei Wuxian/Lan Wanji (The Untamed) - There’s so much I like about these two in the live action. Their loyalty to one another, their growth over the course of the series, and they way they learn to understand one another so well. Other things I really liked was how pleasantly romantic things were between them. The music, the longing, and how they can work together in unison.

Noé/Vanitas (Vanitas no Carte) - I... almost don’t need to say why I like this ship. It’s taken over all my writing. 8D Still, they are such a great balancing act and Mochizuki is writing their adventures so well.... I’m just very impressed. I also really like Jeanne/Dominique but they haven’t gotten much attention in the series yet. :0

Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens) - I just love how they’re nontraditional entities, uniquely eccentric, and that while their friendship has spanned centuries they still have new things to learn about one another.

Oz/Echo (Pandora Hearts) - They didn’t get much time together but they were both in a unique position to understand each other’s suffering in a unique way. I really like these two. The one “date” they went on left quite an impression on me; I think if they’d been given the chance they could have really improved one another and brought a special light to each other’s lives. 

Sherlock/Wato (Miss Sherlock) - It’s hard not to ship every version of Holmes and Watson and these two were no exception! I really hope we get a second season but I loved seeing the progression of their relationship in this show and loved how unusual the cases were. Thought they handled things very well.

Eleanor/Tahani (The Good Place) - Honestly, I like all the ships on this show but these two and their kind of background flirting is just great. Love them. 

And now some fandoms I’m a little less active in (at least at the moment):

Dean/Cas (Supernatural) - I don’t know if I’m really holding out for this to happen in canon in any overt kind of way. It’s been long enough since I’ve watched the show that I’ve created a little distance there. Probably for the best. XD Even so, I always thought these two had something special! 

Korra/Asami (Legend of Korra) - I remember watching season 1 and thinking “These two would be cute together but that’s unlikely to happen.” I’m very glad I was proven wrong. They’re just as epic together as I’d hoped!

Ned/Chuck (Pushing Daisies) - Such an ideal couple. They talk things out, they love each other dearly, and they’re both pretty unusual in all kinds of ways.

Yuuko/Watanuki (xxxHolic) - Pretty sure I’m one of the only people shipping this. XD But it is my opinion that Watanuki had feelings for Yuuko that surpassed his feelings for everyone else. Were they reciprocated? I don’t think they were returned romantically, but I ship it all the same.

Kamui/Subaru (X/1999) - I remember, at some point, this ship had a lot of people disliking it. More recent people will use their familial relationship in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle as a reason but back in the day it was just because it got in the way of all the Subaru/Seishirou and Kamui/Fuuma shippers. At any rate, in X/1999 Kamui and Subaru are not related and they are pointedly portrayed as a healthier version of the Seishirou/Subaru relationship. Anyway, I think they would have been really nice with each other and I still need the ending of this series in case CLAMP ever wants to, you know, do that....

Willow/Tara (BTVS) - Before certain events, they were just adorable and also a power couple.

Cain/Riff (Cain Saga/Godchild) - Tragic, loyal, and bizarre. This sums up their relationship and the series pretty well. I’m always moved by these two.

Data/Deanna (Star Trek: TNG) - Probably also the only person shipping this, but you know? It would have been cool. Also, I think I’m probably only supposed to pick one ship per show but Q/Picard is just also incredibly good. 

Miharu/Yoite (Nabari no Ou) - Just everything about these two is great and tragic and awesome.

Cosima/Delphine (Orphan Black) - They had a lot of troubled points in their relationships but they pulled through and that was nice to see.

Louis/Armand (The Vampire Chronicles) - It’s been quite some time since I’ve read this (I’m due for a reread) but I distinctly recall rooting for these two because I was (and am) convinced Lestat isn’t good enough for Louis. I’m not exactly caught up on the series, so maybe I would change my mind but... I don’t know...

22. Is there anything you regret writing?

At the moment, no! I had a phase when I was a teen where I regretted writing all of my fanfiction, though. It was a difficult time in general and I just felt like none of it was that good and I shouldn’t have spent so much time on it--it seemed like I should be doing other things and there was just a sense of shame. It’s weird thinking back to that time because I’ve definitely moved past it. Unfortunately, I deleted my fanfic from that era. Now I’m trying to recover it so I can see the progress I’ve made, but there’s been so-so luck in that regard. Anyway, this is why I encourage people to at least keep a copy of whatever it is they do. You might want it in the future even if you don’t at this point in time!

28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?

Hmmm, I’ve actually been fortunate enough that someone did draw some fanfic for one of my stories! But, this is talking about something that hasn’t been created yet. Honestly, I would love to see art of Jeanne taking down VotBM in The Descent. I feel like that is the best action scene I’ve done to date and there was something just... really awesome about her throwing a sword across a room with pin point accuracy. 8D I’d also like to see art of the characters in The Dark Wanderer (the sequel to that), especially Dominique dressed as the necromancer.

38. Do you use established canon characters or do you create OCs?

Generally speaking, I try to keep with pre-established characters since I figure we’re all reading fanfic to see more of them! However, most stories can’t make it on their own with just those characters. Many plots will be too big to only have that limited number, so I create OCs as well to better serve the story. For example, there are a lot of OCs in my interpretation of Vanitas’s background (Dealing with Monsters) because we haven’t yet seen his backstory. If I didn’t create any OCs, there wouldn’t have been much of a story. XD

She closed her eyes, her inner voice telling her what an idiot she was. This had been a bad idea in the first place. Yes, she wanted to protect her sister, but it still wasn´t okay to secretly check her closet. She reopened her eyes and with a sigh, she stood up, before facing Cosima. She placed her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket. “I…uh…I know it looks bad, alright? But I didn´t search your things for fun. I was hoping…I was hoping I´d find anythin´that would lead me to Shay. Delphine told me about her suspicions. I´m sorry, yeah?” She brushed her hair back. “I realize now how much it sucks what I did.”

imagine (part 3)

"Actually," Charlotte jumped in to everyone's surprise, "Cosima will be with someone for the rest of her life, but that someone will be a woman." she finished, proudly looking over at her aunt who gave her a quick wink.

"I'm gay," Cosima said nonchalantly.

Delphine suddenly couldn't swallow her wine and struggled to breathe. So she wasn't crazy, the girl was indeed flirting with her. All the teasing, the late night messages, the way her face lit up when she was near her. The girl was flirting with her, and she didn't mind one bit.

Delphine paced around her bedroom cleaning up the mess Hec and she had made during the heat of sex. Hec had come home early for once, saying that he'd missed her terribly and felt that they were drifting apart. He'd gone on and on about their wedding and how much he missed her touch, her presence, so Delphine gave him what he wanted just so he would stop talking. It didn't last more than 20 minutes with him anyway as he always came fast and she usually faked it. She couldn't remember the last time she'd actually orgasmed during sex, definitely not in the past couple of months.

She put the sheets in the washing machine and put fresh ones on the bed.

"Del, come back to bed," Hector breathed.

Instead Delphine grabbed her phone and headed to the balcony.

"I'll be there in a bit," she said as she closed the sliding door behind her.

She fumbled with her phone for a bit and let out a deep sigh. It was moments like these that made her want to reach for a nice little cigarette, made her want to pick up that bad habit of smoking when nervous. She knew she was stronger than that though so she pushed the thought out of her head as soon as it entered and typed in the number she had already memorized.

It beeped for a while and just as she was about to give up and hang up a soft hum from the other side of the line made her put the phone back to her ear.

"Cosima," she whispered.

"Hmm, Delphine?" the coarse voice replied.

"Oui, I'm sorry, did I wake you? I shouldn't..."

"Hey, it's fine, i'm glad to hear you," Cosima said and let out a content sigh. "So i guess you found the number i put in your bag?"

"Yes, I..."

Before she was able to reply, she heard the sliding door open and close and before she knew it Hec was standing right next to her.

"Who on earth are you talking to at this hour?" he asked, concerned.

"Oh, eh, I..."

He grabbed the phone out of her hand.

"Hello? Who is this?" he asked.

"Hi. I'm Cosima, eh, your florist. Delphine just remembered a type of flower she wanted me to add to the bouquet and wanted to tell me before she forgot again."

Hec let out a relieved breath and Delphine looked at him confused.

"Yeah, she does that a lot. She worries too much," he said, turning to Delphine who then also relaxed her shoulders. "Would you like to come over for dinner sometime? Maybe let me in on some of your flower knowledge so i can charm Del."

"Ah, I have a tiny person counting on me to take care of her so..."

"Bring her with you, I'm great with kids. Tomorrow night then?"

"Sure," Cosima replied and hung up.

Hec handed the phone back to Delphine, who looked at him with a deadly glare.

"Pourqoi tu fais ca?" she asked.

"Oh come on Del, it will be nice. I wanted to meet her at some point anyway." he countered.

"Yes but we don't even know her!" she said as she headed back inside.

"She seemed nice," Hector said and rolled back into bed.

He fell asleep instantly, besides, it was already past one in the morning. Delphine lay in bed staring at the ceiling for what felt like forever. What would she even have told Cosima if Hec hadn't jumped in? That she felt that she had known her forever? That whenever she's around her she's in a constant state of happiness?

Delphine jumped at the sound of her phone. She quickly looked towards Hec to check if he hadn't woken up and then reached for the phone on the nightstand and noticed a text from Cosima.

[Everything ok?] -C

Delphine's heart fluttered.

[Yes, I'm sorry for waking you up] -D

[Not like I have to be up at 6am or anything] -C

Delphine felt her heart sink.

[I'm just kidding Delphine. It was nice talking to you] -C

Delphine made a mental note to give Cosima a pinch when she saw her. Such a brat.

[I'm sorry Hec jumped in. See you tomorrow?] -D

[See you tomorrow. Goodnight Delphine xx] -C

Delphine's smile reached her eyes and her heart did backflips at the little x's.

Delphine was pacing around the kitchen, nervously putting plates on the table, when she heard a soft knock on the door. She went to take off her apron in the kitchen and when she was ready to open the door she noticed Hec had already welcomed their guests inside and was holding a huge bouquet of tiger lilies. She saw Cosima introducing Charlotte, the little girl extending her arm politely to greet him. She walked towards them and gave them a small, nervous wave.

"Salut, Cosima. Hi Charlotte," she knelt down and cupped the child's cheek. "You look so much better. How's she been feeling?" she asked as she stood up to look Cosima in the eyes.

"Oh, a lot better actually!" Cosima said, a smile spreading on her face.

"Del, love, could you put these in a vase?" Hec interrupted.

Cosima looked at Delphine, smile never leaving her face, and nodded slowly.

"They're beautiful. Thank you Cosima," Delphine said and walked towards the kitchen.

Hector helped the girls out of their coats and led them to the dinner table.

"You know, Del actually never cooks so i really hope this is edible," Hector said as he pointed to the pan of pasta that Delphine had just put on the table.

Cosima shifted uncomfortably in her seat and gave Delphine a reassuring look.

"Well, we love pasta so i'm pretty sure we'll be fine. Right, monkey?" she teasingly poked Charlotte.

Delphine offered to put food on everyone's plates but Cosima insisted she sat down. She filled Charlotte's plate and poured on extra sauce on her demand and offered to serve Hector and Delphine too.

"Bon apetit," Hector said as he raised his wine glass.

They ate in silence for a while until Charlotte spoke up to express her love for Delphine's pasta, which Delphine readily offered to cook again to the girl's delight. All the while she felt Cosima's stare pinned on her and she started questioning whether she felt so hot because of that or the wine she was currently sipping.

"So, Cosima," Hector began, "how come you became a florist?"

Cosima tried to slurp a spaghetti string as ladylike as she could but failed miserably, something that made both Charlotte and Delphine burst into laughter.

"Excuse me," she apologized, mostly to Hector who didn't look as impressed as the girls. "Well, I studied microbiology at university and got really fascinated with plants and their organisms, so i thought what better way to study than being around plants all day, right?"she said.

"You studied microbiology?" Delphine exclaimed.

"Does that surprise you?" Cosima replied, trying to get a rise out of the blonde.

"Merde, no, that's not what.."

"I'm just kidding Delphine," she smiled.

Delphine blushed furiously and looked over at Hector. "She's very cheeky, this girl."

"And you don't have a boyfriend, fiance, someone to help you out?" he continued.

Delphine shifted uncomfortably, not sure if it was because she didn't want Cosima to feel like she was being interrogated or whether she just didn't want to know the answer.

Sara Manning wouldnt lie to Cosima but Cosima has kept a lot of things from Sarah. She wouldnt tell her about Shay and she wouldnt tell her about her illness. So Im curious what your thoughts are on that! (This isnt an attack I would just like to know what your thoughts are xD)

maybe it’s because delphine’s habits are rubbing off on cosima XP i’m joking. ...mostly. 

in all honestly, cosima isn’t exactly my “area of expertise” (that’s where @meatheadinthecraftroom can tag in if they want) but in general i think it’s cause like, well partially bc cosima’s protecting sarah in a way? cosima says to delphine about sarah “i wanted to give her hope, you know, not more crappy news” which seems to be the main reason why she didn’t tell sarah about being sick -- she didn’t want to worry her. especially since sarah has kira, right

and as for shay, well, i rewatched s3 recently and actually most of the time that cosima finds shay and starts dating her, sarah is kiiiinnda in a desert prison, being betrayed by helena and taking an entire episode long shower. so, the girl was busy X) basically right when she gets home though, sarah and cosima are skypin’ it up and sarah goes “where are you?” when she notices that cosima’s background is different and cosima says “oh, uh. friend’s.” which of course sarah just *eyebrows* but all she says is “is it good?” and cosima says “yeah, it’s exactly what i need right now” so what i’m saying there is that basically the second that cosima was /able/ to tell sarah about shay (on account of her getting back from imprisonment, abandonment and shower...ment), cosima did. in a roundabout way X)

also right at the end of that conversation, cosima says to sarah “call scott, we’ve been working on something big” -- which, from earlier in the season, is dr. moreau’s book that cosima said specifically “secrets are power, and no one, not even my sisters, are gonna know about this” (paraphrasing, i can’t remember the exact quote) but yet she tells sarah basically the moment she gets the chance

my thoughts on the bottom line are -- sarah manning is like, head over heels in love with cosima, to the point where she becomes the LITERAL EMBODIMENT of the *vague whipcracking noise* meme (if there is such a meme) and therefore at this point in the series will do anything and everything for cosima and wont hold anything back. cosima’s different, in a way that i can’t exactly explain, but she does seem to be slightly more prone to lying than sarah (which does make for a volatile reaction in a certain ship) but her intentions (especially about her illness) are generally good. 

like yes sarah and cosima have had their share of bickering, and at the beginning their relationship was kinda rocky and there may be some scenarios in the future in which their viewpoints will clash, but they /always/ have talked to each other about major decisions (re: kira’s bone marrow transplant thing in s2, the kendal deal for more major examples). anyways. when did this become a punky monkey analysis i don’t know but there you go.
