#im a bit late again#cos i accidentally fell asleep earlier tonight#so oops#i also had some time off today that was REALLY needed and i benefited from a lot mentally and emotionally#and what work i did do luckily felt a bit 'same old same old' to me#anyway for the writing prompt i know its a bit redundant cos both words practically mean endless/never ending#but i think the emphasis of something like that makes it stick or stand out more and make the overall prompt feel ominous#and i love ominous#thanks for reading#writing#writer#creative writing#writing prompt#writeblr#trying to be a writeblr at least

reader accidentally eating harry’s edibles🤭
Word Count: 1.4k
Warnings: drug use, fluff
Harry came home to a quiet house. He had just returned to London from a small, brief tour across America and was looking forward to doing absolutely nothing for the next few weeks. There was still the transitioning period, where he had to attend the debriefings and wrap up his press runs before he could actually do nothing, which was what he had come back from just now. All he wanted was to unwind and decompress with his girl that he missed dearly while he was away. Maybe order some take away and cozy up for a marathon of their favorite show that they always watched together. Something peaceful, something easy that harshly contrasts the high energy, chaotic nature that comes with touring.
But this type of peaceful, the peaceful he walked into, was quite different than what he’d invisioned in his head. He searched for her all throughout the downstairs of the house. She wasn’t in the living room tidying up and straightening the photos of her and Harry that lined the walls. She wasn’t in the laundry room washing and folding Harry’s tour clothes like she always does when he returns home. She wasn’t in the kitchen either, but he quickly realized that she had been at some point due to the empty carton of, as Mitch calls them, “special vitamins” knocked over and discarded on the marble countertop.
This sent Harry into somewhat of a panic. He wasn’t sure how many of the gummies were left in the package, but it was certainly empty. Harry knew her tolerance for marijuana was low, and that no matter how many of them she’d actually ingested, she was more than likely knocked completely on her ass wherever she were in the house. For a split second, he was angry with himself for even bringing them home in the first place. They were just something he indulged in to pass time whenever life on the road got a bit sluggish or boring, and he’d happened to have a few packets leftover after a trip to the dispensary in California so he decided to sneak them home in his suitcase. He guessed the dark, back corner of the large pantry in his kitchen still wasn’t a good enough hiding place to keep his girlfriend from finding them when she found her sweet tooth aching for some relief.
He quickly checked the entryway table that the two kept their keys in by the front door to see if she was home, and he exhaled a sigh of relief upon seeing her key ring tossed halfhazardly into the small dish. It was when he made it about halfway up the stairs in his London flat that he heard any sign of life from her. The muffled, gentle melody of a familiar song could be heard coming from behind the bedroom door.
As if he feared he would walk in on a horrific sight, Harry creaked the door open inch by inch, only peeking into the room at first. His worry became obsolete when he stuck his entire head around the door, grasping the wood with his fingers curled around the lip, and he found her lying face up on their bed with a hazy smile plastered clean across her face.
Her hair stuck out in all directions on top of the comforter in a way that Harry would describe as an angelic halo. She was dressed in only one of Harry’s vintage t-shirts and her cheeky, lace underwear that had been a gift from Harry for Christmas this past year. The shirt she had on was covered in rips and tears and barely clung onto her shoulders, but it was always her favorite to lounge around the house in. It smelled the most like him, she’d told him one time. To which Harry officially gave up ever trying to get his hands on it ever again. Plus, it looked better on her, he thought to himself.
Spinning in the corner of the room was one of her favorite records, crackling and buzzing softly as the needle grazed over every dip and divot of the carefully crafted vinyl. Harry had also gotten her this and it had made her so happy that she cried tears of joy when she realized Harry had managed to get his hands on the rarest press of the album. He could hear her humming along to the tune, staring off deep into space at the ceiling fan above where she was laying.
“Baby?” Harry called for her as he approached her calmly and quietly as if she were a jungle cat that he did not want to risk disturbing.
She perked up at the sound of his voice and when her eyes met his, she greeted him with the warmest, welcoming smile Harry had ever seen. It was then that he saw her bloodshot eyes and realized just how far gone she really was.
“You’re home,” she spoke tenderly and almost barely audible over the already quiet music.
“I am. How’re ye’ feelin’?” Harry asked her as he lovingly placed his hand over her knee when he sat down beside her on the bed.
“Reaaaally good.”
Harry’s question sent her into a fit of giggles, ones that she could not suppress and took over her like wildfire. It made Harry chuckle as well.
“Don’t be mad, H. I accidentally ate some of those gummies you hid in the kitchen. I didn’t even realize what they were until I’d already eaten them all. I was just really hungry and didn’t wanna call you, cos I knew you’d freak out. But I’m fiiiiine! Pinky swear.”
She was talking like she was beyond petrified that Harry would scold her for what she’d done, but her tone suggested that she couldn’t have cared less about what happened next.
Her rambles made Harry’s signature dimples show themselves even more. He knew she’d be fine, just as she’d reassured Harry. She was certainly more off the rails than he thinks that even he’s ever been in his life, but he was with her now to take care of her and be her babysitter so there was no harm in letting her ride out her high.
“I know ye’ did, pet. Left the carton on the counter. ‘S alright. How many of ‘em did ye’ eat?” Harry then laid back on the mattress and propped himself up to one side so he could begin rubbing soothing circles on his girlfriend’s back with his skilled fingers.
She hummed, “Don’t know. Maybe like five? They tasted so good I couldn’t stop. We need more of those.”
Harry laughed again.
“Not so sure about tha’ one. Think you’ve had your fair share of ‘em for a while now.”
The lazy whine and grunt that left her chest at Harry’s words made him roll his eyes at her, but not before he leaned over to kiss her forehead sweetly. She chuckled at the tingling sensation left behind by the beginnings of Harry’s stubble grazing over the bridge of her nose.
“Ye’ look pretty wore out. They’re probably gettin’ the best of ye’ by now. Wanna go t’ bed?”
This elicited a yawn from his girlfriend, to which she nodded and shimmied closer towards him so she could burrow her body tightly against Harry’s chest.
“Only if you hold me. You’re warm.”
Harry responded to her touch as if it were the most natural thing in the world to him, curling his front around her so that their legs were intertwined and his hands had a good hold on the back of her head so he could play with her hair until she fell asleep in her hazy, debilitated state.
“Always, bubby.”
He waited until the drugs had knocked her out cold, humming along to the music that eventually stopped when the needle reached the end of the vinyl and petting her scalp gently. When he’d managed to wriggle his way out of her grasp, he quickly stripped himself of his clothes and grabbed an extra throw blanket before rejoining her in the middle of the bed. There was no use dragging her body up to the front of the bed and making her slide under the duvet. She was deadweight and he didn’t want to risk her waking up in a panic when she’d realize she was still significantly high off of the cannibus.
With his arm draped over her waist protectively and his chin nuzzled into the soft skin of her neck, Harry supposed maybe this was the type of peaceful he was hoping for when he came home earlier tonight.

Maul X Reader Drabble Part 2
A link to Part 1:
https://justalittlecloud.tumblr.com/post/628405603084206080/maul-x-reader-drabble
A continuation from the previous installment were sentiments were a clear miss. Here Savage attempts to help, if only Reader would give him a heads up.
As usual Reader can be seen as Y/N
Warnings: Maybe angst?
I put the rest under keep reading as to not clutter the dash!
She was distancing herself, instead of her usual place beside him Maul almost stood up to redirect her as she took a seat next to his brother, Savage. The other sith was also perplexed but did not bring further attention to the matter, mostly as he could already tell everyone present was painfully aware of the situation.
Y/N did not give it any of her attention; she only gave Savage a small smile and greeting before turning back to her work.
Similar instances would occur throughout the morning, Maul narrowed his eyes as Y/N again went to savage to discuss the new settlement, and instead sending him messages through her data pad rather than speaking directly.
His brother only tried to cast him a apologetic glance as Y/N followed him out to another co-occurring meeting, she still of course gave Maul his notes that she had written the night prior, “I just want to make sure this one goes well, I know Savage can hold his own and easily snap a few necks but it wouldn’t hurt for me to make sure no one slides anything in,” he watched her walk away beside his brother, she even dressed differently today.
Her usual black silk gowns were often a compliment of his own tunics, like a matched set of black and red.
Today she favored a slate grey leaning towards a gray-blue similar to Savages armor, the alteration bothered him as they walked off now Y/N matched Savage instead and followed him along leaving Maul to dwell on his irritation and sadly for the councils without Y/N to calm him.
The other meeting had ended earlier than expected, Y/N stirred her tea for once not enjoying the routine task. Likely as to avoid the person she shared the ritual task with as much as she could given her role as advisor. Savage had sat next to her, umber eyes looked over the young woman who had been stirring her tea cup for the past 5 minutes, lost in thought.
“Y/n, how long do you plan to avoid my brother?” It was an honest question he could still feel his brother glaring at them as Y/N walked behind him.
“Is it that obvious?” She put down her spoon for once not interested in drinking her tea, of right, it wasn’t even the kind she liked too much, this one was Maul's favorite.
Savage would have laughed if it not been for the continued dazed look on Y/N, as if she was barely present, “Glaringly so, we left him in a mood this morning.”
Savage looked around the room making sure no one else was there, his brow furrowed, “Y/N it may be best to let this feeling go. You’ll only torture yourself.”
Y/n tugged at her sleeve, maybe the color didn’t suit her at all, she kept pulling at the material trying to muffle what Savage was trying to explain, a truth she had already realized the other day.
Savage continued, “ you must understand, my brother's upbringing was void of affection, any kinship with others, any positive link that likely did not end with a command to destroy. It was only recently that he and I referred to another as brothers, however.” The yellow Zabrak put a hand on hers, “ With you it’s different, he actually lets you near, he likes your company and often seeks you out but he may not be able to recognize that he feels something for you.”
The sincerity of his voice made it all the worse , Y/N bowed her head letting her hair fall around her, “I know, why do you think I’ve been avoiding him?”
The silence that fell between the two was tangible, Y/N felt the need to just curl up and hide. “ I tried to have him tell me what capacity he wanted me for, “
“What was his response?” Savage tried. He gave her hand a comforting squeeze,
“ Well I was not outright on what I am feeling,” She recalled the touches and proximity she had with Maul, a hand on his shoulder and the habit of sitting close together as they worked. Each brush of their hands sending more and more warmth as they sat and worked together. “,But I felt my implications and mannerisms were clear,”
How many hours had they spent working together?
More than once has she fallen asleep at the desk with him and had woken up back in her own room.
Y/N re-evaluated the moments between them, maybe she had looked far too into the situation,
“Again as I have said my brother likely has no reference that you are trying to convey anything of a romantic nature, no matter how glaringly obvious.”
She looked up at him frowning, but Savage continued, he needed her to understand,
“I know he likes to be around you, he seems calmer with you, but he may not be able to recognize it not without a real push. You will have to face him soon, this arrangement will only make it worse.”
Y/n couldn’t help but laugh, it was bitter and sad, “ Of course, I’m the official advisor now.” She smiled up at Savage with dulled eyes not a touch of her usual spark, “I’ve been reaching for this for years and I finally have it. I suppose I should be happy right?”
The door to the room had opened, the familiar grumbling from Maul came through, but not slow enough as he saw his brother still holding Y/N hands. Savage slowly put down Y/N’s hands, “ Just giving her my congrats as your new advisor.”
Maul felt uneasy at the way the two were reacting, wait...why was he so bothered by this? It was good that the two were getting along. However that proximity was something he shared with Y/N, something meant between them and not the three.
Y/n was the first to get up ready to just leave the matter again,
“Well our meeting ended early, there’s still some tea left. I’ll be helping Savage again tomorrow.” She gathered her items taking her data pad with her, “I’ve already sent you my notes for your meetings tomorrow as well so you should be fine without me there.” she didn't meet his eyes, she just looked above him at the windows, the patterned glass was her focal point, she just had to keep it up.
Savage internally groaned, he could already see his brother getting angered by this, the crimson Zabrak had deepened his usual frown and narrowed his eyes,” You have your duties, Y/N.”
He wanted Y/N at his side, he wanted her to say her biting remarks at the council as she knew she would win. He missed her touch to his shoulder when she had found yet another scheme underway.
“I am well aware, but Lord Maul if you recall I am an advisor to you both, and if that is the case I should also help Lord Savage as well. It’s only fair.” She was technically right, but he couldn't give her that.
She walked past him, feeling his golden eyes looking back at her, “ I’m turning in early today, I’m afraid I won't be joining you tonight.” There would be no accidental touch, or falling asleep near the other just solitude once more.
She didn’t stay to hear him call her back, she just looked at the window and left into the halls.
The stained windows showed her Sundari, maybe she should linger back to the library.
She missed the books and silence, maybe the pages would fill her thoughts with something new, rather than linger on the crimson Zabrak that haunted her.
Maybe she should listen to Savage and let go of this feeling.
The library was always empty it’s only occupant was Y/N,she let her fingers run over the histories and tales of old. These were her constant companions, the ones who stayed when everyone had gotten what they needed from her. Maybe she should be blunt with Maul about what she felt, maybe this time someone would stay or maybe she would just still be here in the library chiding herself for being in love with such an impossible person.
She takes a book from the shelf uncaring of its contents and opened it up, “it is without saying that Mandalore will fight until the end....” ah one of the classic histories of the civil wars from 20 years ago, she curled up in her old nook the pillows soft as she laid back and drowned her thoughts with the old tales, no more golden eyes, or intricate tattoos, or glancing at a crown of horns.
“You seem troubled brother.” Savage watched as his brother had ripped apart one of the targets in the training room. Its contents strewn over the floor, the polymer fiber now littering the mats as Maul took out his frustrations.
“She’s hiding something. She has to be.” Maul hissed, “What did she tell you?” his tone was accusatory and slightly panicked.
Savage thought of what he was going to say, “She isn’t trying anything against you, it is complicated to say the least but it isn’t really my place to tell you.”
It was all he could come up with, and it didn’t help the situation. Maul was already going at another target with a wooden staff, the impact of a strike ripping through the cover.
“So you know.” Maul began, “Withholding information from me isn’t wise.” His voice has lowered, and the staff now pointed at Savage, “Best to tell me.”
What did savage know? What was it that Y/N would divulge to his brother rather than him?
Savage just stared at his brother, “Answer me this first, what did you feel when Y/N went with me this morning?”
Maul glared at his brother, “What does that have to do with the information I asked for? Did I not make it clear?”
Savage persisted, “ You didn’t like it, did you?”
“Y/N and I have worked well together of course I’d want her there.”
“ But she wore my colors today.” Savage added, Maul gripped tighter onto the staff
“ They don’t suit her at all, they dull her out. You’ve seen her in black and red,” He let himself linger at that thought, the silky material would sometimes graze against his side, the dresses suited her, she looked every bit regal and at his side, “She was ethereal.”
Savage mentally checked off the question and again commented, “So I’ve heard, even some of the council have mentioned similar comments.”
Maul clenched his jaw at that, “Which ones?”
“Y/N has already turned each one down, that also seemed to bother you. Y/n is young, she’s brilliant, it might not be too long before she does end up with someone.”
Splintered wood snapped onto the mat, “ Enough with this! ”, Maul snarled, “ What did she tell you?”
“Why do you want to know? What is it that brings you to grow so angry about the thought of Y/N.” Savage was truly playing with fire at his point, his brother’s eyes almost glowed.
Maul scoffed,“I need her there, with her with us we can quickly work this plan through.” Y/N taking notes late into the night, her face lit up by the candles she brought in refusing to use the lights as they would interfere with her ability to sleep.
“And then move on, Y/N will be set for life.”
No more of Y/N coming in late at night with a new idea or some of the tea he enjoyed. No more of the almost brush of lips to his cheek when she reminded him to sign the data pad on his desk.
“Why would she go?” Y/N turning away from him, her eyes no longer looking at him, but to some figure who took her hand.
The notion began to eat away at him, it was already happening.
Savage shook his head, “ What reason would she have to remain?”
Maul was at his wits end, “ I want her at my side! I want her there!” He wouldnt have that, Y/N couldn't just leave him..them..what was that thought just now?
Savage merely nodded,” It’s a start. If you must know, it appears that Y/N has tried to demonstrate her affections but the sentiment was not understood.”
“To who?!” the crimson Zabrak demanded already tugging on his tunic he had tossed aside earlier and moving towards the doors,
The yellow Zabrak internally sighed , “Go ask her, she’s probably at the library. “
This was up to the two now, he had helped to hopefully establish that his brother wanted Y/N with him and that she had tried to show him her own affections.
He just hoped the two could explain what they felt and meant no more of this implication and confused reactions.
* Preview for next time
Maul had never been too deep into the library, but it was the place Y/N would retreat to. Deep into the shelves of real paper and ink, Y/N had curled up in her nook.
Her hair cascading across the pillows she had there and fast asleep. She would look almost serene if it had not been for the tear streaks down her cheeks.
“It seems like her sentiment was not understood.”
The lingering touches and the way she listened to him and argued with him. His knee jerk reaction at the thought of her leaving his side, and the loss he felt when she left this morning.
“Y/N, what have you brought upon yourself?”

Effortless // Grayson Dolan Mini Series Part 4 (end)
Summary: After everything that happened after the party, can you and Grayson go back to normal?
Warnings: none
A/N: It’s finally done guys! Sorry it’s so late and I have fallen so behind. Spring break is proving to be more busy than originally planned and then today i woke up sick. Perfect excuse to be up all night catching up on writing though! I hope this ending doesn’t disappoint, I ended up changing how it was going to end at the last minute. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
Part 4 (end)
My vision was blurred as I reached into my small purse that was on Grayson’s bedside dresser for my glasses. I saw Grayson getting stuff out of his closet from across the room. I was mortified at what I could remember from the night before. I don’t remember what I said but I know I thought it was a great fucking idea to take off all my clothes and tell Grayson I wanted to fuck him so that’s amazing. I needed to apologize to him but I didn’t want to bombard him with it either. I didn’t remember much of what he said, but it was obvious he was just trying to disarm me and get me to bed. At the very least my thoughts on how Grayson felt about me were confirmed, we were friends. I slipped my glasses over my eyes and pushed myself up with my hands until I was sitting with my legs crossed.
“Good morning Gray” I let out a small yawn, stretching out my arms as he turned to me to respond
“Oh Grayson went to grab you some coffee he should be right— oh shit I’m sorry”
And this must be the famous Ethan, I didn’t understand why he was apologizing and turning back around until I looked down, seeing the flannel Grayson had me sleep in had come halfway unbuttoned. Great, now both of the Dolan boys had seen my boobs. I quickly scrambled to button it.
“Oh I’m sorry I didn’t realize it had come undone, it’s fine now” I said this almost frantically
“No it’s fine no big deal.” He laughed a little, him and his brother looked even more alike in person than in the pictures I’d seen on Grays snapchat. But, now that I had seen his face it was obviously not Grayson. My stomach churned and my head pounded terribly. The lights were still low in the room, or I probably would’ve thrown up.
“Grayson left you a glass of water and some Advil and nausea medicine on the top of the desk if you need it, he said you were pretty drunk last night.”
I crept my body to the medicine and took it quickly
“Oh god did he tell you what happened?”
“Not really, just that he was glad you guys were asleep by the time I got home”
“Thank god”
Ethan jumped up onto his own bed across the room and sat facing me, he seemed like a pretty cool guy.
“Well what happened?”
“No way am I telling you” I said this pressing my hand to my own forehead
“You definitely are, I mean it’s not like you guys did the nasty or anything”
Seems that they shared the peer pressure gene in common. I knew Ethan was going to find out anyways, I may as well be the one to tell him. I bit on my bottom lip before going to speak but he beat me to it,
“Oh shit. Did you? I’m sorry I just thought-“
“No no no we didn’t” I shook my head,
“But I tried to, I don’t know what came over me honestly I think it just must have been the alcohol. Grayson when to the bathroom and when he came back I was mostly naked. I feel sick just saying it out loud I mean we’re such good friends and now he probably thinks I’m a pervert or something.”
Ethan let out a dry chuckle that sort of annoyed me, I mean I was putting everything out on the table to someone I literally just met in person. I didn’t know why I told him, but now he knew.
“My brother? Think you’re a pervert? Y/n you clearly don’t know Gray all that well because I’m pretty positive he could never think of one negative thing about you”
Ethan was really good at accidentally insulting people but then turning it into something else.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean Grayson has been head over heels for you since you met.”
“And he told you that?”
“Well no, he sticks to the “we’re just friends bro” thing. But he’s a really shit liar and also my brother.”
“I don’t know Ethan I think you’re wrong, we really are just friends and I’m pretty positive that’s what we both want”
“Well you can think what you want but I know if you were any other girl Grayson wouldn’t have brought you here last night let alone leave you here in his bed with me home to go get some food. If you were literally anyone else you’d be waking up in your own bed with the same clothes you went out in. My brother doesn’t let a lot of people into his life, and you’re neck deep.”
“Ethan I just don’t think that—“ the doorknob turned and Grayson came in. I covered my tracks. “It’s a good idea.”
“What’s not a good idea?” Grayson asked
“Pulling two all nighters in a row.”
I used my eyes to signal to Ethan to play along with my lie,
“Yeah you’re probably right, maybe I’ll just try to get one of the papers done tonight.”
Grayson set the drink carrier that held three coffees in it on his dresser along with a paper bag and hopped up to sit next to me on his bed.
“That’s a good idea bro, there’s your coffee and I got you a sandwich too” he threw the wrapped sandwich in his brothers direction for him to catch the handed me my cup of coffee.
“I got you your usual latte and I know you like your bagels with cream cheese but I thought bacon egg and cheese would be better for the raging hangover I’m sure you have”
I lightly pushed Grayson’s shoulder while blushing and sipping my coffee, as he returned a grin. Ethan seemed engrossed on his phone so I decided now was as good of a time as ever to bring up my previous stupidity.
“Yeah Gray about last night, I don’t really remember what was said but I’m sorry for what I did. You shouldn’t have had to deal with that it was so uncalled for and inappropriate. It won’t happen again”
“Y/n it's honestly fine don’t beat yourself up over it. You were super drunk and did things you didn’t want to. No big deal.”
He wrapped his giant arm around me shoulders as we both took bites of our sandwiches. Ethan had the same look in his eyes that Jess did before Grayson and I left for the party. Why the hell people couldn't just let me and Grayson live our lives in peace I didn’t know. After we ate and I felt slightly less shitty than before I decided it was time for me to get home and take a shower. I put my jean skirt on under the flannel when Grayson insisted I take it and got the rest of my things together.
“Bye Ethan, it was nice to finally meet you”
“Bye y/n, come over more!”
“Will do”
Grayson shut the door behind us, Saying he wanted to walk me home. I wanted to know so badly what I said to him that night, but I knew now wasn’t the time to find out. He hugged me tight before he left my doorway, leaving me to wonder with the feeling of his warm embrace fresh on my skin. I had already finished my homework for the weekend, so I took a quick shower and when I returned to the room Jess was there, itching to know what happened.
“And then we fell asleep. And that’s really all I can remember.”
“Oh my god y/n! Why are you two so blindly ignorant? Literally both me AND HIS BROTHER are saying the same thing.”
“Because Jessica it’s too good to be real for me okay!”
I didn’t know what came over time in that moment but I was standing there in front of my best friend and roommate in nothing but my towel as tears escaped my eyes. I took a few deep breaths.
“I just can’t bear to even risk losing him Jess and you have no clue how close that may have come last night. I exposed almost all of my body and probably my heart. Fuck what if I told him I loved him? Then what happens? I swear to god he played it off but I could have paved a road with the thick tension between us today. And I still feel like I could throw up and I feel hungover and stupid and like everything is going to blow up in my face”
She just hugged me as I cried, assuring me all would be okay. But I couldn’t see how I could be okay without Grayson by my side. My head pounded something terrible telling me to go back to sleep to numb my regrets. I couldn’t help but slip into a pair of underwear and Grayson’s flannel again, holding it to my face and breathing in the smell I had come to love so dearly. Wearing this piece of him made my bed feel like I was in his again. I fell asleep, breathing everything he had ever said or done into my lungs, except for what I could not remember.
-
Surprisingly enough the next week seemed to fly by, and the tense atmosphere between Grayson and I slowly faded away. We avoided talking about that night as much as we could though, and when it did come up we never talked about the elephant in the room. On Friday, Grayson and I were in the library late, doing all of our homework for the approaching weekend to get it out of the way. I wore a pair of light grey joggers and a T-shirt with the name of our school on it; my hair was tied up into and I had my makeup done more than I normally would on a Friday because I woke up earlier than planned that morning. Grayson looked tired, wearing a big hoodie and a pair of adidas sweatpants with a beanie covering his hair. I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back here was a note pressed onto my laptop that said “I didn’t forget about movie night tomorrow, did you?” In all honesty, I had. But I didn’t want Grayson to think that.
“Of course not, I just didn’t know how to remind you” I laughed and a smile spread across his cheeks, something was telling me Grayson needed this movie night more than he was willing to admit.
“Great, my place at 6? I’ll order us some pizza? Ethan will probably be there for a while but he’s usually out roaming late on Saturday’s. You can just stay the night if you want, or I can walk you home when we’re done, all up to you”
He was testing the waters to see if I had moved on from the previous weekend, and of course I hadn’t. But again, I didn’t want him to know that, I needed to move on so our friendship could go back to normal and if sleeping in his bed again was going to do that for me then I may as well do it.
“Yeah sounds great! I’ll just spend the night so we don’t have to go out late. I’ll bring you back your flannel too, I washed it” we both laughed but the truth was I hadn’t yet washed his flannel. I didn’t have the heart to. It made me feel so creepy that I hadn’t and that instead I clung to it while I slept just to feel even a little bit of the closeness I felt that night when I was holding onto him. But nothing compared.
-
When I got to Grayson’s dorm the next day, Ethan let me in. Grayson had lost track of time and was still in the shower. I was wearing a pair of blue pajama shorts and a loose V-neck Black T-shirt with Grayson’s now washed flannel draped over my shoulders. The early sunset gave the room a very homey glow, and Ethan had a candle burning that smelt like a nice men’s cologne. I sat on Grayson’s desk chair waiting for him and set my bag down. There were three small ziploc bags filled with brightly colored post it notes on his desk, all of the notes I had ever written him. He did keep them.
“I told you he liked you”
“This doesn’t mean he likes me Ethan. I have the notes he writes me in a notebook.”
“Yeah exactly y/n. Because you like him.”
“You don’t know that.” I rolled my eyes and he cocked a brow at me.
“Oh I don’t? Alright. That’s why you’re wearing his flannel.”
“I am more than allowed to wear his flannel and just be his friend. It’s cold out and I’m wearing shorts.”
“I mean yeah. But that’s not the case.”
I didn’t reply to Ethan, it was worthless to argue with him at that point. He was hard headed. As if I would tell him I was in love with his brother. Grayson bursted into the room a few minutes later in nothing but his underwear, still dripping wet from the shower.
“Bro I didn’t realize time was passing so quick why didn’t you tell me I was in there for so long she’s —“
Grayson turned and saw me there and I must have looked like a deer in headlights. I had seen Grayson in a similar view when we went swimming but his underwear were skin tight and it took everything in me to meet his eyes instead of his crotch. He smiled embarrassingly and held his shower caddy in front of him. Water droplets dropped from the ends of his hair onto his beautiful chest as he scrambled to form words.
“I’m so sorry I’m late I’ll just get dressed and we can order food.”
“No big deal” I smiled at him as he walked over to his dresser and pulled on a pair of black basketball shorts and a loose tank top that exposed his sides.
“I didn’t know you kept these” I said picking up one of the note filled bags.
“Oh I didn’t realize I left those out, but yeah. I like to keep stuff like that”
Before I could answer Ethan butted in.
“Yeah but only when they’re from you”
Simultaneously we both shot him a death glare and he raised his hands in defense before slinging his backpack over his shoulder and heading towards the door.
“Just leave me a few slices, I’ll eat later. And text me if I shouldn’t come home” Ethan winked but was out the door before either of us could say anything.
“I’m sorry for him, he thinks we should get together.”
“Jess is the same way it’s fine.” I took a pause, “I keep mine in a notebook.”
“Really? I feel slightly less embarrassed then”
“Good, you shouldn’t.” We both smiled lightly.

Grayson and I were one pizza and two movies in, his arm was again draped around me and my head was on his chest, watching the TV that sat on top of his desk at the end of his bed. I felt so at home in his arms, just like I had the first night we met. He placed his chin on top of my head and all of a sudden my mind started swarming with feelings and questions.
“Grayson. What are we?” I sat up and kneeled in front of him between his legs as he also moved to an upright position.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean what is this? We always have these weird moments like the first night we met and the night of the part which I still have hardly any idea what happened and like right now where we are both lost and I just want to know what’s happening before someone gets hurt.”
“Y/n I don’t even know what to say. The night of the part I realized something. I mean you deserve to what happened. I mean you know what you did, but you kept telling me you liked me and that you wouldn’t change your mind and that you wanted to have sex and then you started crying and I told you we could talk about it if you wanted to at another time and I guess I though since you hadn’t said anything you regretted saying what you did. But last weekend I finally came to terms with the fact that I wish you wouldn’t take back all you said because I’m crazy for you.”
I sat there, absolutely baffled. He said it all so quick it took me a minute to process everything, but each second I saw his eyes lose hope.
“This is going to sound weird but just bear with me I’ll get to the point eventually. When we met you knew I was an English major. And English majors are word people right? Like that’s supposed to be my forte. But Grayson since the first time we ever spoke you’ve done nothing but leave me speechless. And I don’t even know how to put into words how you make me feel.”
“You don’t have to say anything y/n”
He took my hands into his and I pulled one away, running it through his hair and resting t in his cheek. I pulled myself closer to him until our foreheads were touching just like the first night we met. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I places my lips onto his. We molded together in the most natural way imaginable and he lowered himself onto his bed until he was laying down fully. We tangled working each other as he rolled me onto my back, holding one of my hands above my head and lacing his fingers into mine. I eventually pulled away, gasping for air to fill my lungs.
“You know, everything I said while I was drunk was true.” He smirked at me after I said this,
“Really?”
I sunk my teeth into my bottom lip and nodded as I reached to take off his shirt. Our lips crashed back into one another, barely ever breaking as we both slowly lost articles of clothing.
“You better text your brother” I managed to moan out as he rubbed his bare body against mine while kissing my neck,
“I think we’re gonna be here a while.”
Grayson quickly grabbed his phone and typed something before throwing it back into the dresser, beginning the best night of my life so far.
‘Don’t come home tonight. We ate all the pizza anyways.
