Because I'm in the process of writing replies and picking up some additions to my garb closet for Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend:

How would your muse spend a day at the Renaissance Festival?

In Sonia's case, she's wearing something in either green or blue hues, or something vaguely occult-inspired. Always a chemise under her corset or gown to prevent sun damage. She's the one carrying a parasol everywhere while checking out all of the booths, and spending far too much time and money at anything that even toes the line of witchcraft or exorcism artifacts.

She also wants to pet all of the animals in the petting zoo.

i dont want to give in to Modern Shapewear but i really hate when im trying to have a Fun Outfit and theres fucking Distinct Lines from various under wear bands (bra, undies, maybe a pair of tights?) all at separate points? that are impossible to hide bc the outer wear is fucking form fitting spandex

#toy txt post #if it were easier to make bespoke structured underclothing to create a smoother silhouette. god. i would. but thats so much more investment #in time and money and materials and hours to probably fuck it up at least the first coupke times vs just buying a fucking tummy control #camisole or some shit. but i cannot fucking stand the marketing around it. i dont want to put money to that. im not trying to Look Thinner #im trying to achieve a specific smoother silhouette w my clothing to look like a little clown and vintage silhouettes #rely so often on structured underclothing that the closest analogue to today is: fucking shapewear! unless i go out and get an actual #corset. but those tend to be more expensive. and im not aiming necessarily for the classic corset look i feel like a lot of the ones for #sale offer which seems to be very......booby. but the flatter more smoothing silhouette that was consistent between both menswear #and womenswear. the lengths it takes to be a nonbinary fucking clown. sighs deeply #also thinking again about the stupid fucking gold harley quinn jumpsuit i got like the movie that i Want to like and it Isnt Bad #but the material of the one in the movie is much thicker so its doesnt BEHAVE the same way as fucking form fitting spandex. and i know why #they did spandex. cos like. easier to sell cheaper to make fits a wider range etc. but i just want a fucking piece like that as an Actual #Garment of Clothing not a fucking spandex Halloween costume and couldnt find anything like it for less than $500. which is honestly #probably a reasonable price for labor and materials but not one i can justify? its just frustrating cos its So Close to good but the fuckin #Material just Ruins it for me and not even necessarily cos of like lack of shapewear lumpiness but like the way it drapes on the body the #way it stretches as spandex just looks Wrong. aaaaaaagaghgghghghggh #rage. anger. etc. need to learn how to sew my own shit at least a little. maybe a full length binder like 1 size up for comfort? scary #for context i also struggle with breathing from the lightest amount of Too Much Chest Compression. like sometimes bras will Get Me #so thats the other factor here. i dont know that this is necessarily looking for advice mostly im whining and complaining while doing #Nothing. ugh #also how much of this issue could be avoided if the form fitting spandex stuff had like. a lining. idk

#I might delete this later but I'm feeling a bit disheartened and want to just put this out there into the world but not super publicly #But like #The worst part of being overweight in my opinion is that it's so so hard to feel cute or pretty or even decent looking #I'm going to Japan with my older brother next week and I've been curating a cutesy Lolita-esque style outfit for the trip and I finally #got the last of the pieces so I tried it all on. And it's just... no matter how hard I try I can't really see myself as cute in it #I don't know maybe pink isn't my color and this just isn't my style. But.#I tried really hard to make an outfit I'd feel cute in and it's devastating to not really see myself as cute #And it's not really that I think I look bad per se it's just...#I don't know #Not what I wanted it to be I guess #And I know that if I posted pictures people would say ''wow you look great!!!'' because people always say that kind of thing #But I'd always think they were lying or were playing it up #Even if they really weren't #I just wanted to feel cutesy and everything and it hurts somewhere deep inside to not feel that way #I'll still wear the outfit in Japan since I spent enough time and money on this outfit but it really dampens my enthusiasm #And this wasn't the first time I've tried on the dress obviously. I've been trying it on periodically all along #But I kept hoping that once it was done and I had the makeup all on maybe I'd finally be able to see myself as cute #But no #I still don't. Not really.#It doesn't help that the dress itself doesn't even fit properly #I got it on sale which is what sparked this whole idea in the first place and it was always a size too small #It never zipped properly but I was able to work around that with an outer corset that held it closed #And a lace shrug that helped hide the weird bunching in the back #I can sometimes get the dress zipped now since I've lost a little weight #But it's a struggle and I can only do it about half the time and it feels like I'm going to break the zipper each time #I'd think to buy a new dress but a) that would cost even more money and I've already spent way more than I had wanted in my endeavor #to feel cute in this dress. And b) all of the accessories are tailored to this dress specifically #It would be hard to find a good replacement and there is no guarantee that would even help #So I just... I don't know #It's just hard.

The girl on Vinted with the boyfriend who needs a ~girly~ outfit for some party is becoming increasingly annoying

#first she wanted to buy an XS corset from me for him #I warned her it would be way to small #I had another corset that was more easily adjustable for sale so i recommended that one #she tells me she is going on holiday for a couple of days #so I reserve the corset for her #(vinted allows for a maximum reservation of 5 days)#reservation ends #someone else buys it #suddenly she's back and wondering where it went #she's fortunately understanding of it being sold #starts requesting info on other items of mine #I try to help a little with suggested combos #she then asked if it was possible for her boyfriend to try things on before buying????#wtf?#so since then I haven't opened vinted anymore #she also says she's angry at her boyfriend for avoiding her on that subject #he's obv not that into the idea of wearing 'women's clothing'#can the straights pls stop #if he doesn't want it leave him and me alone thank you #fr #vinted advented

Our Black Friday Sale is officially Go! Although we've been sneaking a few bargains onto our site throughout November, the big one has now arrived. With corsets and dresses starting at £50/$63, stockings at £2.95/$3.75 and a whole range of lingerie too!

We’re a tiny brand and the items in our Black Friday sale are end of lines which means that not all sizes are available (but they have been available for full price for several months!)

Black Friday is a love/hate situation for small brands who often feel forced to discount. At What Katie Did we turn BF on it’s head and have fun with it. The items in our Black Friday sale are all end of lines which would have gone on sale anyway at some point and as everyone is in the shopping mood, why not make it now.

We also take the opportunity to have some ridiculous bargains as we know that our pieces are out of the price range of some would be customers. We had a large amount (for us) of corsets returned from a magazine shoot which were marked. We could have cleaned them, but as they arrived back just a couple of weeks ago decided to discount them insthead.

Although you might think that it’s stressful working in retail at this time of year, in our warehouse it’s actually fun to be very busy and as everyone pitches in to help in our mail order department it’s one of the few times of year where we all get to work together. The music playlist is one, and the emergency snacks are open!
