Told ya' I'd get back to posting more Carol and the End of the World eventually! Here's some colour keys of the boss' office: something we discussed early on was how the closed blinds in his office were representative of his mental state and feelings towards the end of the world - literally blocking Keppler out of his view, and we wanted that to be clearly reflected in the lighting of the space even when they weren't on-screen, which is what we were exploring here.
One of my favourite silly little details: a framed photo of Business Men Doing Business Things! Since the lineart I was provided was just a rough, it didn't have a design in the frame, so I just improvised, ha ha - pretty sure we changed it in the final design, though, so enjoy this little peek behind the curtains! Thanks for looking, and watch Carol & the End of the World on Netflix if you haven't already:

At Home Depot there was this cashier whose apron was ragged and had things written in Sharpie on it, hand-embroidered flowers and a hammer, and pins fastened to it... I suggested she keep it and never throw it away because it is such a perfect encapsulation of humanity continuing to express itself despite the effort of corporate to homogenize, like dandelions between the concrete cracks
#corporate world would not have us as individuals but as nameless worker ants#they never liked it when we decorated our workspace or uniforms#lord forbid there be evidence of human life in a workplace

How Branded Workspaces Enhance Employee Engagement and Morale
In today’s workplace, businesses are realizing that the office environment plays a big role in how employees feel and work. It’s no longer just about having a desk and a computer. More companies are designing their workspaces to be an experience that motivates employees, keeps them happy, and helps them feel connected to the company. One of the most effective ways to create this kind of environment is through branded workspaces.
A branded workspace is an office that reflects the company’s identity, values, and culture. This isn’t just about putting a logo on the wall or using the company’s colors. It’s about creating a space where employees feel like they belong, understand the company’s mission, and are motivated to do their best work. Branded workspaces can improve employee engagement (how connected and motivated employees feel at work) and morale (how happy employees are at work). Let’s take a closer look at how these spaces can do just that.
The 2024 Global Workplace Study finds that workers are less concerned about whether or not they should go into the office, and more interested in how the office will help them do their work better.
What Are Branded Workspaces?
A branded workspace is a work environment that represents a company’s identity. Think of it as more than just decoration. It includes the design, layout, and atmosphere of the office. This could mean using company colors, displaying the company’s values, or designing spaces that promote the company’s culture.
Here are some elements you might see in a branded workspace:
Logo Placement: The company’s logo could be placed on walls, floors, or even on signage around the office. It serves as a constant reminder of the brand.
Company Colors: The office might use the company’s color palette in everything from furniture to walls, making the workspace feel connected to the brand.
Values and Mission: Companies often display their core values or mission statement in different parts of the office to inspire employees and remind them of the company’s purpose.
Cultural Symbols: A company might also use symbols or design elements that represent its culture or history, such as photos, awards, or design choices that show what the company stands for.
These design choices help employees feel connected to the company’s story, culture, and mission, making them more engaged in their work.
How Branded Workspaces Impact Employee Engagement
Employee engagement refers to how motivated and committed employees are to their company. Engaged employees care about their work, feel connected to the company’s mission, and often go above and beyond in their roles. A branded workspace can improve employee engagement in several important ways.
A Sense of Belonging
When employees work in an environment that reflects the company’s values and culture, they feel like they are a part of something bigger. This sense of belonging helps employees connect to the company and feel like they are important. The design of the workspace—such as having company logos or colors—reminds employees that they are part of the team.
For example, if a company’s brand is all about creativity and innovation, the office might include open spaces for brainstorming, bright colors, or artwork that encourages new ideas. When employees see these elements, they feel more inspired to engage with their work and contribute their ideas.
Alignment with Company Mission
Branded workspaces help employees stay aligned with the company’s mission. When the office is designed to reflect the company’s goals, it’s easier for employees to understand what they are working toward. For example, if a company’s mission is to promote sustainability, it could have recycling stations, energy-efficient lighting, or even use sustainable materials in the design of the office. This makes the mission feel more real and connected to employees’ everyday work.
When employees can easily see how their work connects to the bigger picture, they are more likely to feel motivated to help achieve the company’s goals.
Psychological and Emotional Connection
Employees are more likely to be engaged in their work when they feel emotionally connected to the company. A branded workspace helps to build this connection. It can make employees feel like they are valued and that their environment is designed with care. For example, bright colors, comfortable furniture, and open spaces can make employees feel happy and energized when they come into work.
When employees are in a space that makes them feel good, they are more likely to focus on their work and do their best. A well-designed space can help employees feel positive about their jobs, leading to higher engagement.
Boosting Employee Morale Through Workspace Design
Employee morale is the general attitude, satisfaction, and happiness employees feel at work. High morale is important because happy employees tend to work harder, stay with the company longer, and perform better. Branded workspaces can have a big impact on morale in the following ways.
Creating a Positive and Stimulating Environment
A positive work environment helps improve morale. A branded workspace can create a stimulating atmosphere that motivates employees. For example, natural light, plants, and colors that match the brand can create a space where employees feel comfortable and happy. When the office is visually appealing, employees are more likely to feel good about their workspace.
Comfort is also key. When employees have ergonomic furniture, relaxing break areas, and spaces designed for collaboration, it shows the company cares about their well-being. The better employees feel physically, the better their morale will be.
Increased Pride in the Workplace
When employees see their company’s brand reflected in the office design, they feel proud of where they work. This sense of pride is important for morale. When employees feel proud of their workplace, they are more likely to talk positively about the company and stay with the company longer.
For example, companies that have a strong focus on innovation may decorate the office with products or designs that show the company’s achievements. Employees who are proud of the company’s success are more likely to feel engaged and motivated to contribute to its growth.
Fostering Collaboration and Communication
Branded workspaces also encourage employees to work together. Collaborative spaces that match the company’s culture help employees communicate better, share ideas, and work on projects as a team. When employees feel they can easily collaborate with coworkers, it boosts morale and creates a stronger team spirit.
An office with open spaces and areas designed for teamwork can break down barriers between departments and make it easier for people to interact. Employees who feel like they are part of a team are often more motivated and engaged in their work.
Practical Tips for Designing Branded Workspaces
Now that we understand the benefits of branded workspaces, here are some practical tips for creating an office that will boost employee engagement and morale.
Incorporate the Brand’s Identity into Every Detail
Think about what makes your brand special. Is your company focused on creativity? Innovation? Sustainability? Make sure the office design reflects these values. For example, if your brand focuses on creativity, use bright colors, open spaces, and inspirational artwork. If sustainability is part of your brand, use eco-friendly materials and design the office with energy-efficient systems.

Focus on Employee Comfort
Comfort is key to morale. Ensure the office is designed with employee comfort in mind. Use ergonomic furniture, adjustable desks, and comfortable seating. Make sure employees have access to natural light and quiet spaces where they can focus. When employees feel comfortable in their work environment, their morale will improve.
Use of Technology
Incorporate technology that makes the workspace more efficient and connected. Interactive screens, digital displays, and smart office tools can keep employees informed and help them collaborate more effectively. Just make sure the technology fits the company’s brand and mission.
Personalization
Allow employees to personalize their workspaces. When employees can add their own touch to their desk or office area, it makes them feel more at home. This could be as simple as allowing employees to display personal items or photos that reflect their personality. Personalized spaces help employees feel more connected to the workplace and more engaged in their work.
Involve Employees in the Design Process
One of the best ways to make sure your branded workspace meets employees’ needs is to involve them in the design process. Ask for feedback about what they want in the office. Hold surveys or focus groups to understand their preferences. When employees feel their input is valued, they will feel more engaged and motivated.
Case Studies: Branded Workspaces in Action
Airbnb’s headquarters is a great example of a branded workspace that enhances employee engagement and morale. The company’s offices feature themed meeting rooms, open spaces, and areas for relaxation. The design reflects Airbnb’s brand values of belonging, community, and creativity. The result is a workplace where employees feel connected to the company’s mission and excited to contribute.
The Coca-Cola Company: Brand Legacy in the Workplace
Coca-Cola’s London headquarters is an excellent example of how a branded workspace can enhance employee morale by celebrating the brand’s long-standing history and legacy. The office design uses Coca-Cola’s signature red and white color scheme and displays memorabilia from the company’s past, giving employees a sense of pride in working for such a well-known brand.
Conclusion
Branded workspaces are more than just a design trend—they are an important tool for improving employee engagement and morale. By creating a workspace that reflects a company’s identity, values, and culture, businesses can help employees feel more connected, motivated, and proud of where they work. Branded workspaces make employees feel like they belong and that their work is meaningful.

i have no idea how relevant this is because i literally just noticed it but um. here is my take on the Youtube Pronouns Update
i sorta get why youtube isnt letting people make Just Anything their pronouns because theres always gonna be people who’ll use that space to be gross and cissexist but cmon you couldn’t have at least added any/all pronouns? i know that most ppl that use any/all are specifically referring to she/he/they but like. man. i dont want to go through and select every single pronoun.
and even then like,, pronouns are an extremely fluid form of language. theres literally pronouns being coined every other day on Tumblr Dot Com. knowing this it feels strange to restrict what people can and cant use. its like forcing people to choose a name from 25 of the most common ones and being like “we’ll add more later we promise”
its effectively constructing new boxes to stick people in because Corporations Are Fundamentally Opposed To Queerness. idk maybe im overreacting i just absolutely do not trust this.
#this feels like the beginning of widespread corporate sanitizing of transness#esp with bangers like#“THE PRONOUNS FEATURE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR WORKSPACE OR SUPERVISED ACCOUNTS”#and#“WE ARE PERIODICALLY REVIEWING PRONOUNS WHICH MAY BECOME AVAILABLE IN THE FUTURE”#and then theres the bit where they’re VERY cheeky about anti-trans legislation#“some jurisdictions have laws related to gender expression :)” i will rip you to shreds you soulless beast#like yeah this is overall a good thing…but im not liking the implications here#not wc#swapper screeches#ask to tag

Revitalize Your Corporate Interiors: The Magic of Custom Wall Coverings and Murals
In today's fast-paced corporate world, the design of a workspace is not just about functionality; it's about creating an environment that reflects the ethos and values of a brand. "Revitalize Your Corporate Interiors: The Magic of Custom Wall Coverings and Murals" explores the transformative power of personalized interior design in corporate spaces. This comprehensive guide delves into how custom wall coverings and murals can not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of an office but also embody and reinforce a company's identity and culture. From the subtle textures of bespoke wall coverings to the vibrant narratives of custom murals, this article will take you through the journey of transforming mundane corporate spaces into inspiring and engaging environments. Whether you are a business owner, an interior designer, or simply someone with an interest in corporate aesthetics, these insights will provide you with the knowledge and inspiration to reinvent your workspace.
The Impact of Interior Design on Corporate Spaces The interior design of corporate spaces is a crucial element that extends beyond mere aesthetics. It's about creating an environment that resonates with the brand's ethos and provides an invigorating space for employees and clients alike.
Enhancing Brand Identity with Custom Designs Custom wall coverings and murals are powerful tools in establishing and enhancing a company's brand identity within its physical space. These elements act as visual storytellers, portraying the company's values, mission, and vision. When a client or employee steps into a space that is adorned with imagery and colors reflective of the brand, it creates a lasting impression and strengthens brand recognition. Custom designs allow for a unique expression of a company's personality, setting it apart from competitors and making the space distinctly its own.
Creating an Engaging and Motivating Environment for Employees The work environment plays a significant role in employee motivation and productivity. Custom wall coverings and murals can transform standard office spaces into vibrant and stimulating environments. Incorporating elements that reflect employees' values and the company's culture can foster a sense of belonging and pride. Artistic and thoughtful designs can inspire creativity and boost morale, leading to a more satisfied and productive workforce. The visual appeal of well-designed interiors also plays a key role in employee wellness, as it can influence mood and mental well-being.
Exploring the World of Custom Wall Coverings Custom wall coverings offer a world of possibilities for corporate spaces, bringing together the blend of aesthetics, functionality, and brand representation. This section explores the diversity and versatility of these coverings, along with their practical aspects.
Variety and Versatility: From Textures to Graphics The options for custom wall coverings are nearly limitless, ranging from subtle textures that add depth and sophistication to bold graphics that make a statement. Textured coverings can include materials like fabric, vinyl, or even 3D elements that add a tactile dimension to the space. Graphic coverings, on the other hand, can be custom printed with any design, from abstract art to photorealistic landscapes, logos, or brand-centric themes. This versatility allows companies to tailor their environments precisely to their brand's personality and the ambiance they wish to create.
Durability and Maintenance: Choosing the Right Materials When selecting wall coverings for a corporate environment, it's essential to consider both durability and maintenance. Materials should be chosen not only for their visual appeal but also for their ability to withstand the wear and tear of everyday office life. Additionally, ease of maintenance is crucial; wall coverings should be easy to clean and maintain, ensuring they remain vibrant and fresh over time. The right materials can greatly enhance the longevity and appearance of the wall coverings, making them a worthwhile investment in the corporate space.
The Artistic Influence of Murals in Workspaces Murals in corporate settings are more than just decorative elements; they are a form of artistic expression that can significantly impact the ambiance of a workspace. This section explores how custom murals can be utilized to reflect corporate values and serve as tools for branding and communication.
Storytelling Through Art: Murals That Reflect Corporate Values Murals have the unique ability to tell a story and convey messages in a way that resonates with employees and visitors. Custom murals can depict scenes or concepts that align with the company's mission and values, creating a narrative that strengthens the corporate identity. For instance, a mural depicting a collaborative community can underscore a company's commitment to teamwork, while a nature-themed mural might highlight sustainability efforts. These artistic installations serve as daily reminders of the company's core values and aspirations.
Custom Murals as a Tool for Branding and Visual Communication Beyond their aesthetic value, custom murals can be a strategic branding tool. They offer an innovative way to display the company logo, brand colors, and other elements integral to the company's visual identity. Murals can also be used to communicate key messages or milestones, celebrating the company's history and achievements. This form of visual communication not only enhances the brand presence within the office but can also become a talking point, fostering engagement with clients and visitors.
Design Process and Implementation The journey from conceptualizing to implementing custom wall coverings and murals in a corporate setting is both creative and technical. This section outlines the steps involved in bringing these design elements to life in a corporate environment.
Collaborating with Designers: Bringing Your Vision to Life The first step in creating impactful wall designs is collaborating with professional designers. This partnership is crucial for translating a company's vision into tangible art. Designers can offer expert advice on color schemes, themes, and materials that best represent the brand. The process involves a series of consultations and mock-ups, ensuring that the final design aligns perfectly with the company's branding and aesthetic goals.
Practical Considerations: Space Analysis and Installation Techniques Once the design is finalized, the next step is analyzing the space where these elements will be installed. This analysis includes considering the size of the walls, lighting conditions, and the overall layout of the office. Choosing the right installation technique is also critical for ensuring the longevity and appearance of the wall coverings and murals. Professionals in this field use techniques that minimize damage to the walls and allow for easy updates or changes in the future.
Case Studies: Successful Transformations with Wall Coverings and Murals In this section, we delve into real-life examples that demonstrate the transformative impact of custom wall coverings and murals in corporate spaces. These case studies highlight before-and-after scenarios, showcasing the tangible benefits of these design elements.
Before and After: Showcasing Real-Life Examples The power of a well-executed design is best understood through direct comparison. By presenting case studies of corporate spaces before and after the installation of custom wall designs, we can see the dramatic difference these elements make. These examples range from subtle enhancements that add a touch of sophistication to complete overhauls that revolutionize the space's ambiance. Each case study will detail the design considerations, the challenges faced, and the strategies employed to achieve the final look.
Feedback and Impact: How These Changes Influenced Corporate Culture Beyond the visual transformation, it's important to understand the impact of these design changes on corporate culture and employee morale. Feedback from employees and clients provides valuable insights into how these enhancements have improved the work environment, communication, and overall brand perception. These case studies serve not only as a testament to the aesthetic benefits but also to the practical and cultural improvements brought about by thoughtful interior design.
Conclusion: Embracing the Power of Custom Wall Design in Corporate Spaces
In today's competitive business landscape, where every detail counts, investing in custom wall coverings and murals can be a game-changer. It's an opportunity to turn ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences, fostering creativity, engagement, and a sense of belonging. It is the process of designing the interior space of a company to reflect its values, culture, and brand identity. When done right, corporate interior design can foster a sense of community, improve employee morale, and enhance the company's image.
A well-designed corporate interior can create a welcoming and professional environment for employees, clients, and partners. It can also help to define the company's culture and values, as well as showcase its achievements and successes. A cohesive and visually appealing design can also create a sense of pride and unity among employees, which can lead to increased collaboration and productivity.
In addition to creating a positive work atmosphere, corporate interior design can also improve the functionality and efficiency of a workplace. By maximizing the use of space and incorporating ergonomic features, a company can increase the comfort and well-being of its employees. This can lead to fewer absences due to illness or injury and increased productivity.
Corporate Interior Design Dos and Don'ts
When it comes to designing a corporate space, there are a few key things to keep in mind to ensure that the final result is professional, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Here are some dos and don'ts to consider when embarking on a corporate interior design project:
DO consider the brand image and target audience The design of your corporate space should align with your brand image and speak to your target audience. If your company is modern and innovative, opt for a more contemporary design. If your brand is more traditional, a more classic design may be more appropriate. Consider the type of clients or customers that will be visiting the space and design accordingly.
Don't forget about functionality While aesthetics are important, the functionality of the space should not be overlooked. Consider the needs of your employees and make sure that the layout and design of the space allow for efficient workflow. This may include sufficient storage, ergonomic furniture, and well-placed electrical outlets and technology.
DO incorporate natural elements Bringing in natural elements, such as plants and natural light, can not only improve the overall look of the space but can also improve the well-being and productivity of your employees. Incorporating natural elements can also help to create a more welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Don't neglect the importance of color Color can have a significant impact on the mood and atmosphere of a space. Choose colors that reflect your brand and contribute to the desired mood of the space. Be mindful of the psychological effects of different colors and consider the intended purpose of each area when selecting hues.
By keeping these dos and don'ts in mind, you can create a corporate space that is both professional and functional, while also reflecting your brand image and catering to the needs of your employees and clients.
Conclusion
In conclusion, corporate interior design plays a crucial role in the overall atmosphere and productivity of a workplace. It helps to create a cohesive and professional environment, foster a sense of community, and improve the functionality and efficiency of the space. It is important to consider the needs and preferences of the people who will be using the space and to create a design that reflects the company's culture and values.
