Kolkata's AB Polypacks adds a new rotogravure press 

AB Polypacks, a West Bengal-headquartered one-stop shop for a wide range of flexible packaging solutions, recently added a 9-color Solomark ELS 6450 rotogravure press from Pelican Rotoflex to its portfolio. The company had earlier added a turret slitter from Pelican.

With its manufacturing facility spread over 1.5 lakh square feet of land in Howrah near Kolkata, the company, which started its journey in 2006, provides a wide range of flexible packaging solutions, including collation shrink films, shrink labels, wrap-around labels, laminates, and all kinds of pouches, under one roof.

The Solomark 6450 has a maximum web width of up to 1300 mm, with a web tension range of 60 to 400N and a reel diameter of 1000 mm. Chinmay Kumar, co-founder of AB Polypacks, emphasized its high energy efficiency with lower power consumption and less waste. “It is user-friendly with better operational ease with better print quality and higher productivity,” he said.

According to Kumar, the machines present in the plant's arsenal for printing, lamination, blown films, shrink labels, and pouching are what set the company apart from its counterparts.

The printing unit, apart from the new Solomark 6450, is equipped with four more high-speed rotogravure printing presses. It has expertise in a diverse range of materials, ranging from polyester and PVC to PET-G, shrink film, BOPP film, foil, and paper.

Gender is a construct (& a contract too)

Contracts of gender we make to either conform to our gender or not to, either way we are confronted with a prewritten contract, singed at birth without our consent , that we now need to deconstruct figuring out, if we have a problem with the words, with the content, with the fine print or with the whole premise of a contract signed at birth. 

Orthographia: (exists only in the biological, the mathematical, the mythological/theological)  the venus/mars symbol, androgyny symbol, genitals, a tampon, viagra, a razor, a condom  Ichnographia: (exists only in a biased society, within an individual’s mind, or within a specific  historical context)  the barbie doll, the human body, an AI animation, a dress, a pair of cargo shorts, a carabiner with keys, a corona, a wig, a drug, a crush, unrequited love and obsession, an average by biol. sex (height, strength, life expectancy, etc)  The Virtual/the Ghost/ the Plenty: (exists in abstraction, without linear boundary, in constant change, a concept, a definition, not a law)  Hetero/Homo/Bi/Pan/Poly sexuality, a relationship, a beauty standard, gender-affirming care and medical treatment, a hate crime, parity talks, motherhood and fatherhood, gender categories at the olympics, etc..   Gender is a construct made up of all of these factors, it becomes a contract that can forever be questioned and fought over, because it is continually transcending the ortho, ichno and virtual world.

Why gender is a contract:

It’s the beauty standard, the hair, the implied genitals, the idea of young adulthood, feminist discussions around the doll, that make us inherently link the idea of “female” and “feminine” to a Barbie doll.  What is even more remarkable about the doll however is that it at the same time isn’t allowed to be a full representation of “woman” as a gender identity, because it cannot be a sexual object (it still is though…) And when the concept and image of Barbie is then able to alter this exact fragile contract of woman and feminine, we enter a dangerous but interesting territory. When Barbie is sexualized or anthropomorphized she becomes an abstraction of a woman, that can turn into a new standard or aspiration: An ichnographia stuck in time starts altering our contracts of gender. 

The question is then: do we abandon the contracts of gender? Is that even possible? How do we navigate this fragile contract?  The interesting thing about gender queerness, gender fluidity, or a-gender identity is the fundamental refusal to let the ichnographia freeze. The world was taken by storm when covid 19 hit and started to “nurture” in December 2019. Not long after, the disease was spread to every city and every lane, leaving its strong, sharp effects on the healthcare industry. Early and quick detection of COVID-19 is a challenging task for the medical community, but it is also crucial in stopping the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Prior attestation of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields of science has encouraged researchers to come up with stable and efficient solutions and further address this problem. 

Artificial intelligence played a vital and independent role in countering corona while helping gain knowledge about necessary information such as vaccine distribution, hospital management, drug discovery, financial aid circulation, clinical data insights, and covid diagnosis.

For Aerial Disinfection

Add 4 ml (0.39%) of CidalTek 5th QACs in 1 Lit. of water for 1000 cubic feet area.

Fogging machine should be mounted 2-3 feet from the floor level.

The angle of fogger machine kept at approximately 45 degrees.

Ensure the room is thoroughly cleaned before & after fogging with CidalTekR-82 solution.

For Sporicidal use 20 ml (2% concentrated solution) in 1 Lit of water for 1000 cubic feet.

For effectiveness of aerial disinfection take Pre & Post Air count by routine air settle plate/Active air sampler count.

For Mold & Mildew Control

At 4 ml per litre of water, CidalTek-5th QACs disinfectant will effectively inhibit the growth of mold & mildew and the odours caused by them when applied to hard, non-porous surface.

Follow disinfection instruction.

Repeat treatment every seven days, or more often if new growth appears.
