Hello I bring you THE BOYS for Oc-Tober as I do a little dance to catch up.

A little ramble about both of them under the cut-

01 - Favourite OC - Mórgacht Gorméan.

Looks at the blog title, looks you dead in the eyes.

Mórg is my canon commander, the character who accidentally became my main. He started out as ‘just my D&D bard Majesty but a sylvari’ but little by little he warped into his own guy. Genuine stupidity became ‘a silly front to hide a sharp mind’, all the red in his palette shifted to pink, etc etc.

I play him pretty close to canon events without much diversion- he’s sort of baby (11 by SotO), he’s fluffed his way through being a naive fool in his youth and through his time with the order of whispers and has been largely shaped by experiencing the world through the lens of crisis after loss after crisis. His main diversion from canon/in-game stuff is the presence of his Co-commander and partner, Varro. They share the blame, I guess.

Mórgacht is, though you wouldn’t find it out easily, sort of a fanatic about his own Wyld hunt. He has a little bit of a crisis every time More Dragon-Related things happen, because he doesn’t know if he wants it to be over or to keep going forever.

This sort of meant he turned his back on the grove kind of immediately - fate of the world in his hands and all- and left some sour relationships Dangling as a result. He’s working on them. He Uh. He. He sends wintersday cards. That counts, right?

02 - New OC - Corcrán

My beloved bullfinch, so new I haven’t even managed to draw his hair right yet.

About 2 years older than Mórg, Corcrán was pretty content to laze around and read, hunt, spar, etc. he had basically no grand plans in life past being a very pretty fop, but got dragged into questing and adventuring by Mórg shortly after they met. They had a tumultuous relationship, both trying to convince the other into wanting things at odds with their natures basically constantly.

When Mórg joined up with the order of whispers, Corcrán felt betrayed first, and then really fucking pissy that he’d ‘lost’ this last argument. He started working to scout in and around Nightmare court lands, and eventually undercover within the court itself.

He wasn’t very good at it, got found out but took the opportunity to turn coat because he was hurting, and angry, and heard on the grapevine (ha) that Mórg, the fucker, was making a name for himself away from the grove.

They reconnect in the jungle of Maguuma where it takes a LONG and tense confrontation for Mórgacht to actually believe Corc is trustworthy. A dog is involved in drawing it maybe. Corc aligns himself with the Pact (and far later the crystal bloom), Mórg loudly denounces any trust in him but also Mórg doesn’t really have many other sylvari ‘friends’ and sometimes they make peace, at least for a little while.

It always ends up in some sort of an argument, though- worsened when Mórg realised that Corc respects Varro far more as Commander than he ever will Mórgacht.

Also some FUN TRIVIA I kind of want to give him a tail. He deff has more claw-y hands than morg.

Meet the Corcráin Whinfell.🌺

The name Corcráin is a shortened form of the Irish surname name Ó Corcráin, which means "descendant of Corcrán." It is derived from the Gaelic word corcair, meaning purple. I chose to go with a purple-themed name because the Halloween Whinfell redesign had already been given an orange name and I didn't want any of the horses to have the same color-based names. Lore:

"The Corcráin Whinfell loves the warm summery months, especially from June to August. These hotter temperatures are perfect for the Corcráin as they enjoy swimming and soaking in marshy swamps and lakes. This Whinfell also loves the Marsh Cinquefoil plants that tend to grow in these environments. These purple blossoms are both eye-catching and nutritious to the Corcráin and may be the cause of their bright and vibrant coats.

The Corcráin's magical coat was based on the Purple-bordered gold moth, while their neutral coat is a dunskin roan (a buckskin dun with roan, and yes that's it for the roans in this lineup lol).

You may also notice the neutral coat has a small spot on its forehead. This was intentional. The Corcráin may be able to magically hide its form, but this is a tiny giveaway to their true selves."

With Emery closing in on level 80 I turn my attention to the next blorbo in line; Corcrán, my thief, my maybe-a-nightmare-courtier-but-I-hate-to-be-mean.

Did a very fast doodle of him while I was waiting for the attack on Tarir meta last night

He’s like max height while Mórg is min height, and he’s also got a BROAD build compared to a twig build so…

DAY 05 - Relationships- Mórgacht and Corcrán

“Well if it isn’t our hero of the hour, returning to his humble home-”

Made it to ✨backstory week ✨5 hell yeah

This was actually- drawn because I was trying to write about them instead? And uh. Drawing was easier. I’m not one of natures writers.

But basically after the whole “getting Caldebolg back” debacle, Morg comes back to the grove full of sunshine and light and so happy to see Corcrán again! After y’know, talking to the pale tree at length and leaving Corc knowing he was back and didn’t. Make any attempt to hurry to see him even briefly.

Andy their reunion is soured by his going “by the by I’m joining the order of whispers and leaving the grove, probably for a while, you can come with if you’d like?”

And Corc who has been, like, reasonably patient with all this running off to do heroics so far. Is pretty upset. Like buddy you could have sent a letter. You could have made any attempt to keep in touch. You could have waited a day or four before saying this all.

Mórg really comes off as like. A sweetheart. Especially when standing next to Varro. But I kinda love the fact that one of his first things he did in his short life was irrevocably fuck up the dearest relationship! Idk it’s all very- I’m. I’m not a writer. And I’m not a good enough artist to show it with images. So you’re unfortunately stuck with me doing this… silly doodling…. and my Rambling.

A little exploration of Corcrán’s post-HOT injuries (possibly due to partial mordrem transformation shedding away, possibly due to something else, it’s all very up in the air.)

Also trying to decide how/where the cape/glider/wing apparatus connects (maybe it’s variable? UNCLEAR but I spent like 450 gems on that nonsense so he’s keeping it)

Tell you what tho he is not beating the Batman allegations after this

Day 04 - Redesign - Corcrán

I dug back through old screenshots to find out that Corc

- Used to be Cúchullain (my friends know I use that name a lot!)

- Was a guardian

- Had a whole sage green accent colour going on.

Uh. He got better.

Aughhhh I’m so rusty but. Corc. I’ve got a little animatic of him and Mórg basically done… but then the gem store fucking Got Me and I have redesigned him (a little)

Pulling away from the nightmare court thing with Corc a lil because I juet can’t see him being suuuper into it. He’s nightmarecuruous I guess.

What I DID seirously get him in with was “what effects did he suffer after the whole Mordremoth thing” and with THAT I say. He had a partial Mordrem transformation and like… shed a lot of it and lost a fair bit of his body mass.

got in with some Asura (inquest?) who both fixed up hid injured back and more or less installed a glider aparatus while he was knocked out.

TRAGEDY and woe I had a whole document of sketches of Corcrán and I deleted it instead of saving. There was only one survivor

However to make up for this I started ✨noodling ✨ as I am won’t to do and goDAMNIT Mórgacht

The salads are exes now (Mórg being all ‘I must go… I have a destiny….’ Did not sit well with the relatively chill Corc, who left without someone to soften his sharp edges is pretty mean actually.

Absolutely finishing that bottom left sketch. Morg’s fussy about his appearance and he’ll fuss anyone around him too.

(I imagine my third sylvari is just off to the side with her bone minion and her smoothie like ‘you two really need to see other people’ for as long as it takes Morg to adjust his sights onto Varro)
