Why Vintage Wallpaper is Making a Stylish Comeback
In recent years, the home decor world has witnessed a resurgence of interest in vintage wallpaper. This stylish comeback isn't just about nostalgia; it's about the timeless appeal and versatility of vintage wallpaper to modern interiors. From vintage peel and stick wallpaper to custom vintage wallpaper, homeowners are finding creative ways to integrate these classic designs into their living spaces. This blog will explore the reasons behind this trend and how to incorporate vintage wallpaper into your home decor.
The Timeless Appeal of Vintage Wallpaper
Vintage wallpaper's timeless charm is its ability to evoke a sense of history and character. Unlike modern designs focusing on minimalism and simplicity, vintage wallpaper has intricate patterns, bold colors, and detailed motifs. These elements can instantly add depth and personality to any room, making it more inviting and unique.
Versatility in Design
One of the main reasons for the resurgence of vintage wallpaper is its versatility. Whether you want to create a feature wall or completely transform a room, vintage wallpaper offers endless possibilities. A vintage design suits every taste and style, from flowers wallpaper to geometric patterns. Moreover, with options like blue and brown wallpaper, you can easily match your existing color scheme or create a new one.
Easy Application with Vintage Stick Wallpaper
The advent of vintage peel and stick wallpaper has made it easier than ever to incorporate vintage designs into your home. This innovative product allows you to apply and remove wallpaper without the mess and hassle of traditional wallpaper paste. It's perfect for renters or anyone who likes to change their decor frequently. With vintage peel and stick wallpaper, you can enjoy the beauty of vintage designs without committing to a permanent change.
Custom Vintage Wallpaper for a Personal Touch
Custom vintage wallpaper is the way to go for those looking to add a personal touch to their decor. This option lets you choose your designs, colors, and patterns, ensuring that your wallpaper perfectly matches your vision. Custom vintage wallpaper is ideal for creating a unique space that reflects your personality and style.
The Allure of Removable Vintage Wallpaper
Removable vintage wallpaper combines the best of both worlds: the classic look of vintage designs and the convenience of modern technology. Like peel and stick options, removable wallpaper is easy to apply and remove, making it an excellent choice for those who like experimenting with different styles. Whether you prefer flowers or more abstract designs, removable vintage wallpaper offers a flexible solution for updating your decor.
Flowers Wallpaper: A Classic Choice
Flowers wallpaper is a perennial favorite in the world of vintage wallpaper. Its timeless beauty and versatility make it a popular choice for any room in the house. Whether you opt for a bold, colorful design or a more subtle, muted pattern, flowers wallpaper can add a touch of elegance and charm to your space. It's particularly effective in living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Blue Wallpaper: A Cool and Calming Option
Blue wallpaper is another popular choice for vintage-inspired decor. Its calming and soothing qualities make it ideal for bedrooms and bathrooms. Blue wallpaper can range from deep navy tones to light, airy pastels, allowing you to create a variety of moods and atmospheres. Whether you choose a classic damask pattern or a more modern geometric design, blue wallpaper can bring a sense of tranquility and sophistication to your home.
Brown Wallpaper: Warmth and Richness
Brown wallpaper is perfect for adding warmth and richness to a room. Its earthy tones can create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it ideal for spaces like living rooms and libraries. Brown wallpaper works well with various styles, from rustic and traditional to contemporary and eclectic. Whether you prefer a vintage floral design or a more abstract pattern, brown wallpaper can add depth and character to your space.
Integrating Vintage Wallpaper into Modern Interiors
One of the most exciting aspects of vintage wallpaper is its ability to complement modern interiors. Combining vintage designs with contemporary furniture and accessories allows you to create a unique and stylish look that blends the old with the new. For example, pairing a vintage floral wallpaper with sleek, modern furniture can create a stunning contrast that highlights the best of both styles. Similarly, using vintage geometric patterns in a minimalist space can add visual interest and complexity.
Conclusion
The comeback of vintage wallpaper is a testament to its enduring appeal and versatility. Whether you're drawn to the charm of flower wallpaper, the relaxed elegance of blue wallpaper, or the warmth of brown wallpaper, there are endless ways to incorporate vintage designs into your home. With options like vintage peel and stick wallpaper, custom vintage wallpaper, and removable vintage wallpaper, you can easily find the perfect solution for your decor needs. Embrace the beauty of vintage wallpaper and let it transform your living space into a stylish and unique haven.

Pop of Personality: Adding Fun and Flair to Every Room
Your home should be an extension of who you are—a space that feels both comfortable and reflective of your personality. One of the easiest ways to inject life and individuality into your interior is by adding those unexpected touches that give each room a pop of personality. Whether it’s through bold color choices, quirky accessories, or creative patterns, you can create a space that’s not only stylish but also uniquely yours. Here's how to add fun and flair to every room of your home.
1. Play with Bold Colors
Color is one of the most powerful tools for transforming a space, and there’s no better way to inject some personality into a room than through a bold hue. While neutrals are timeless, adding a splash of vibrant color can elevate the entire vibe of a space. Don’t be afraid to experiment with unexpected color combinations—bright mustard yellows paired with teal blues or deep emerald greens with rich maroons. Consider painting an accent wall, adding colorful furniture, or using bold-toned decor accessories like pillows, throws, or rugs. Even small pops of color, like a vibrant vase or a colorful piece of art, can instantly change the feel of a room.

2. Incorporate Playful Patterns
Patterns are another fantastic way to bring flair to your space. Whether it’s through wallpaper, textiles, or art, incorporating fun patterns adds visual interest and energy to a room. Think graphic black-and-white stripes, floral prints, geometric designs, or even animal prints. Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns, either—pairing a bold floral with a striped accent pillow or a chevron rug with a geometric art piece can create an eclectic and stylish atmosphere. The key is balance—don’t overdo it, but use patterns strategically to create focal points and add vibrancy to your decor.
3. Add Quirky Art and Decor
Art is a powerful way to personalize your space, and the more unique and unexpected, the better. Instead of settling for generic prints or mass-produced artwork, choose pieces that reflect your personality and interests. It could be a vintage map of your favorite city, a colorful abstract painting, or even a whimsical sculpture. Look for art and decor that sparks joy or tells a story, whether it's through humor, nostalgia, or a shared cultural connection. Mixing different styles—like pairing a modern piece of art with an antique mirror or a rustic sculpture with sleek furniture—can add charm and quirkiness to your space.
4. Experiment with Fun Furniture Pieces
Who says furniture has to be serious? Adding an unexpected or statement-making piece can completely transform a room. Think beyond basic sofas and tables—look for a brightly colored armchair, a sculptural coffee table, or a fun-shaped ottoman. Quirky furniture doesn’t have to be over-the-top—it can be a subtle way to add personality without overwhelming the space. An upholstered chair in a funky pattern or a vintage cabinet with unique detailing can bring both style and fun to any room. Don’t be afraid to mix and match styles—an old wooden rocking chair paired with a sleek, modern couch can create an effortlessly cool vibe.

5. Create a Personalized Gallery Wall
A gallery wall is an excellent way to add personality and style to any room, and the beauty of it is that it can evolve with you. Whether you display family photos, personal mementos, travel souvenirs, or quirky art, a gallery wall lets you showcase your interests and passions. Play with frame styles and sizes to create a dynamic, layered look. Add items like mirrors, decorative plates, or even fabric swatches to keep it interesting. The result is an artful, personal collection that truly reflects who you are.
6. Incorporate Fun Textiles
Textiles are a quick and easy way to bring fun into a room, and the beauty of them is that they’re easy to switch out whenever you want to change up your look. Experiment with colorful throw blankets, patterned pillows, and textured rugs to infuse personality into your space. Playful textiles can also add warmth and comfort, making the room feel inviting and cozy. If you want to go all out, think about adding curtains in bold colors or patterns, or try upholstering a piece of furniture with an unexpected fabric, like a tropical print or velvet.
7. Add Whimsical Accessories
Sometimes, it’s the small details that have the biggest impact. Whimsical accessories—like funky lamps, colorful vases, or fun throw blankets—bring charm and character to a room. Consider incorporating unusual objects or accessories that surprise and delight. A quirky lamp in the shape of an animal, a vintage clock with a unique design, or a collection of eclectic pottery can make your space feel playful and fun. These accessories can also serve as conversation starters and help bring your personality into the room in a subtle yet effective way.
8. Use Unexpected Materials
One way to add flair to a room is by incorporating unexpected materials into your design. Think about mixing wood with metals, glass with concrete, or natural textures like rattan with luxe materials like marble or velvet. These surprising combinations can add richness and depth to your space, giving it a stylish, curated look. For example, a glass coffee table with a wood base, a marble lamp with a leather shade, or a velvet couch paired with a metal side table can all lend a sophisticated yet playful edge to a room.
Conclusion
Adding fun and flair to your home is all about infusing personality into your space. Whether you play with bold colors, experiment with patterns, or bring in quirky furniture, the key is to let your home reflect who you are. By incorporating unexpected elements—like fun art, playful textiles, and unique accessories—you can transform any room into a space that feels both stylish and deeply personal. It’s the small touches that truly make a house a home, so don’t be afraid to get creative and add your own personal flair to every corner.

Unconventional Interiors: Bold Design Moves to Break the Rules
Interior design is often bound by a set of unwritten rules: neutral walls for versatility, matching furniture sets for harmony, and symmetrical layouts for balance. But what if we told you that some of the most innovative and inspiring spaces are born from breaking these very rules? Unconventional interiors are all about embracing boldness, personality, and creativity—daring to push the boundaries and take risks with design.
If you’re ready to challenge the status quo and transform your space into something truly unique, keep reading. We’re diving into the world of unconventional interiors and showing you how to embrace design moves that break the mold.

1. Color Outside the Lines: Fearless Use of Color
Traditionally, many interior designers stick to neutral tones to create a sense of calm and versatility. But what if you allowed color to be the driving force in your home? Bold, unexpected color combinations can inject life into any room and create a sense of excitement.
Rather than a single wall accent or a soft pastel palette, think of using contrasting hues or even clashing colors that bring energy and personality to the space. For example, try pairing rich emerald green with deep terracotta, or mustard yellow with cool cobalt blue. These unexpected combinations can turn an otherwise ordinary room into something extraordinary.
Tip: If you're intimidated by color, start small—use bold colors for accent walls, statement furniture, or artwork. Gradually build up to using multiple colors throughout the room.
2. Embrace Eclecticism: Mix and Match Styles
Who says your living room has to adhere to one singular aesthetic? Embracing eclecticism means mixing and matching various styles, from mid-century modern and boho-chic to industrial and vintage. It’s about curating a collection of unique pieces that tell a story and reflect your personality.
You might pair a sleek, minimalist sofa with an ornate Victorian coffee table, or hang a contemporary abstract painting in a room full of vintage furniture. This approach can create a layered, dynamic environment that feels both lived-in and thoughtfully curated.
Tip: While eclectic interiors are all about mixing styles, it’s crucial to create cohesion through a unifying element, like color or texture. For example, matching the fabrics of different chairs or using a consistent color palette across furniture and decor can help bring the look together.
3. Breaking Symmetry: Asymmetry for Unexpected Balance
Symmetry has long been considered the hallmark of good design—everything from furniture placement to artwork is often arranged in a balanced, mirror-image fashion. But symmetry can sometimes feel predictable and stiff, so why not shake things up a bit?
Asymmetry in interior design can add intrigue and dynamism. Try placing furniture in an off-center arrangement or hanging artwork at different heights to create a sense of visual playfulness. An asymmetric bookshelf or an unbalanced rug placement can challenge traditional expectations while still feeling harmonious.
Tip: Use asymmetry deliberately by arranging objects or furniture so that they "feel right" even if they aren’t perfectly aligned. The key is to trust your instincts and create a sense of intentional imbalance.
4. Go Bold with Wallpaper: More Than Just a Backdrop
Wallpaper has made a major comeback—and it’s no longer relegated to just accent walls or powder rooms. Today’s wallpaper designs are bold, artistic, and filled with personality. From large-scale prints to textured finishes, wallpaper can turn any wall into a statement piece.
Instead of going for the typical floral or geometric patterns, why not experiment with unconventional designs? Think oversized murals, hand-painted motifs, or wallpapers that mimic natural elements like marble or wood. Not only does it add visual interest, but it can also make a room feel like a piece of art in itself.
Tip: Use wallpaper to create a dramatic focal point in a room—perhaps in the entryway, behind a bed or sofa, or in a home office. If you’re not ready for full walls of pattern, try wallpapering just one accent wall or a small alcove.

5. Incorporate Industrial Elements: The Beauty of Rawness
While industrial design is often associated with urban lofts and warehouses, incorporating raw, unfinished elements into your home can add a bold, modern edge. Think exposed brick, concrete floors, steel beams, and metal furniture. These elements bring texture and character to a space, transforming it from sterile to stylish.
You don’t need to overhaul your entire home to get the industrial look—start small with statement pieces like a metal-framed bed, a concrete coffee table, or a statement light fixture with exposed bulbs. The idea is to create a space that feels authentic and raw, with a touch of rugged beauty.
Tip: Balance industrial elements with softer materials like wood, plush textiles, or plants to prevent the space from feeling too cold or harsh.
6. Oversized Furniture: Think Big, Live Big
In small spaces, we’re often told to stick with scaled-down furniture to make the room feel more expansive. But oversized furniture can be a striking way to make a statement in a room, creating a sense of grandeur and luxury. A massive velvet sofa or an oversized dining table can instantly transform a space, making it feel dramatic and opulent.
The key to making this work is to balance the scale. Pair large furniture with more minimalist décor to keep the room from feeling crowded. This strategy works particularly well in open-plan spaces, where the scale of the furniture can create distinct zones without compromising flow.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to go bold with furniture size—just be mindful of the room’s layout and circulation. Large furniture can be a true focal point, but leave enough breathing room around it to maintain a sense of openness.
7. Play with Shapes: Curves, Geometrics, and Unexpected Forms
Straight lines and sharp angles often dominate traditional interior design, but incorporating more organic shapes can bring a sense of fluidity and warmth to your space. Think curved sofas, circular rugs, or rounded tables instead of rectangular ones. This move adds a sense of softness and contrast to a room, balancing out the angular elements.
Geometric patterns are another unconventional move that can work wonders, whether in tile design, art, or even the furniture itself. Bold geometric shapes, like triangles or hexagons, can make a room feel futuristic or avant-garde.
Tip: Use round or curved elements to soften more angular furniture or architectural features. Incorporating playful geometric patterns can bring both fun and structure to a room.
8. The Power of Mix-Matched Materials
Gone are the days of matching everything in a room. The beauty of unconventional interiors lies in the use of diverse materials—mixing metals, woods, ceramics, glass, and textiles. Pair a sleek glass coffee table with a rustic wooden bookshelf, or a brass lamp with a marble countertop. This combination of materials creates contrast and visual excitement, giving the room personality and depth.
Experiment with materials that you wouldn’t normally put together. The juxtaposition of rough and polished, light and dark, or old and new adds intrigue to your space and makes it feel lived-in yet polished.
Tip: When combining different materials, keep a consistent color palette to avoid overwhelming the space. Let the contrast between the materials create the visual interest.
9. Unconventional Spaces: Think Beyond Traditional Layouts
Not every room needs to follow a traditional layout. In fact, some of the most inspiring interiors break from the norm and create their own spatial rules. Think about using unexpected spaces—under the stairs, a lofted nook, or an empty hallway—as an opportunity to create something new.
For example, a kitchen island could double as a work desk, or a bedroom could be split into two separate zones with different functions. Consider the flow of your space and how you can use it creatively, without being confined to a traditional layout.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to use unconventional layouts that suit your lifestyle. A mix of open spaces, multi-functional furniture, and reimagined zones can turn your home into an unpredictable, inspiring place.
Conclusion: Unleash Your Boldness
Breaking the rules in interior design is about daring to be different and embracing the unexpected. It’s about creating a home that reflects your unique personality and style, free from the constraints of conventional design principles. Whether it’s through bold color choices, mixing diverse styles, or experimenting with unconventional materials, these design moves can transform your home into a bold, stylish haven.
Remember, interior design is an art form, and your home is your canvas. Don’t be afraid to break the rules, take risks, and let your creativity run wild.

Characteristics of Modern Wallpaper
Here are some key characteristics that define modern wallpaper for home:
Bold Colors and Graphic Prints: Modern wallpaper embraces statement colors, from deep jewel tones to playful pastels. Geometric patterns, oversized florals, and abstract designs are popular choices, adding a touch of drama or a playful vibe.
Minimalist Appeal: Minimalism is a cornerstone of modern design. Simple, textured wallpapers with subtle patterns or metallic finishes create a clean and sophisticated look.
Natural Inspiration: Nature finds its way into modern wallpaper through organic textures like wood grain or grasscloth, or through calming botanical prints.
Textured Dimension: Modern wallpaper goes beyond flat prints. Textured wallpapers add visual interest and a touch of luxury. Opt for materials like embossed vinyl or woven grasscloth for a truly unique look.
Benefits of Modern Wallpaper
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, modern wallpaper for home offers several practical benefits:
Durability: Modern wallpapers are made from high-quality materials like vinyl or fabric, making them resistant to fading, tearing, and moisture. This ensures your investment lasts for years to come.
Easy Maintenance: Many modern wallpapers are washable or wipeable, making them ideal for high-traffic areas or rooms prone to spills, like kitchens and bathrooms.
Camouflage Imperfections: Wallpaper can effectively hide minor imperfections on walls, saving you time and money on extensive repairs before decorating.
Choosing the Perfect Modern Wallpaper
With a plethora of options available, selecting the right modern wallpaper comes down to considering several factors:
Room Function: Consider the purpose of the room. For a relaxing bedroom, choose a calming pattern or textured wallpaper. Opt for bold colors or washable options in high-traffic areas like hallways or playrooms.
Lighting: Natural and artificial light can significantly impact how wallpaper looks. Choose lighter colors for rooms with less natural light, and consider using metallic accents to enhance brightness.
Furniture and Decor: Modern wallpaper should complement your existing furniture and decor. Bold patterns can hold their own in rooms with minimalist furnishings, while subtler textures work well with busier spaces.
Metallic and Shantung Material:
Craving a modern wall update? Look beyond traditional options! Metallic wallpaper adds instant glam with its shimmer, available in everything from cool silver to jewel tones. Patterns and textures like brushed metal further enhance its impact. Shantung, a fabric wallpaper, offers a sophisticated alternative.
Its woven texture adds visual interest, and its muted palette creates a calming atmosphere. Perfect for bedrooms or libraries. For a truly unique and show-stopping design, consider combining metallic and shantung elements.
Accent Wall: Use a metallic wallpaper with a bold geometric pattern as a statement wall, and complement it with shantung wallpaper in a coordinating neutral color on the remaining walls.
Panelling Effect: Create a visually interesting effect by alternating panels of metallic and shantung wallpaper. This works particularly well in hallways or entryways.
Conclusion:

Grading the AHS Sets
...on how much I like their architecture and design.
The Murder House
This architecture is a DREAM with a mix of styles (not actually a classic Victorian as Marcy describes) and my coveted round corner tower. A lot of the rooms have interesting angles and dimensions. And the interior—I just adore a good tiled fireplace and built-in cabinets and WALLPAPER. The Tiffany glass fixtures also add gorgeous pops of color. Hate this black leather furniture and the black and white kitchen tile, though; I’d definitely do softer colors, because while I do love wood paneling, it’s easy for a room to just feel dark. 7/10.
Briarcliff Manor
Meh. Romanesque revival architecture is kinda boring to me. Its just very square and uniform. But moving on, even at its best and cleanest, Briarcliff’s interior is still just very bleak and bare. It’s all stone, and even the staff bedrooms only have a bed and dresser. No decor to speak of except a cross on the wall. They get one point for the cool staircase though. 1/10.
Miss Robichaux’s Academy
The academy is so beautiful and iconic! The French Colonial Revival style, the wrap-around porch on both levels, the crown molding and pillars and chandeliers—all perfection! Even the furniture is my favorite with a lot of antique French styles! But also all so...white. It makes a great contrast to the wrought iron gates and the coven’s all-black fashion, and is very luxurious-looking, but I prefer lots of color and dark wood accents. 9/10.
Elsa’s tent
Ranking the whole fairgrounds would include a lot, so I just went with Elsa’s tent on this one. Though some of the patterns and those statues are not my favorite, I love the general opulence and all the pink and purple tones, She has it pretty good considering it’s a tent. Honestly? It works as a tent! A whole house designed like this would be overwhelming. 5/10.
Hotel Cortez
Art Deco and geometric prints just don’t really do it for me, sorry, but the set IS still lovely. The lobby, anyway. The rooms? Nooot so much lol. 4/10.
Roanoke House
Listen, I’m just a slut for this skylight, okay? That aside, I’m also obsessed with the odd-shaped windows and spiral staircase. This house is also a Colonial, like Buckner Mansion (the Coven house), but Georgian, and it’s a delightfully unique one. I love the industrial touches but not so much the rustic feel and wish we could see it all fixed up. Matt and Shelby never really get around to updating the interior design, unfortunately, so I can’t grade fully. All the natural light and the built-in bookcases are huge pluses, though. And...skylight. 7/10.
The Mayfair-Richards’ house
This is just straight-out-of-a-catalogue gorgeous, and in the real world they would never be able to afford it on a small-business income. Just look at this room! The arched doorway with the dark frame, the exposed brick fireplace, the wooden beams?? Love. It’s like a modern version of the Roanoke house—tho tbh some of the furniture is a little too modern for my tastes. And why are the beams natural wood when the archway is black? But then there’s the bathroom—and those bookcases!!! The only big drawbacks are the boring suburban architecture and frankly criminal lack of fun wallpaper. 8.5/10.
The Hawthorne School/Outpost 3
This interior is cool. I like the warm neutrals, angular walls, and all the exposed walkways on the second floor to look down on the first. And the exterior sculptural design is awesome. It would definitely get more points for having sunlight, though, and maybe some artwork on the walls. 3/10.
Camp Redwood
Honestly, there’s just nothing remarkable about Camp Redwood. Wooden cabins with bunk beds. Pleasant scenery. 2/10.
#I hope you all like this because I spent like five hours on it lol#I really think I’m going to LOVE the season 10 set#I already can’t wait to update this with my ranking of it!#american horror story#all hail the queue of hell#ahs murder house#ahs asylum#ahs coven#ahs freakshow#ahs hotel#ahs roanoke#ahs cult#ahs apocolaypse#ahs 1984
