tbh i don't think female celebrity status is even compatible with feminism since it relies on putting on a performance of femininity, but no one is ready for that convo so igss we'll just keep repeating the same stan war arguments over and over. no one cares about misogyny unless they can use it as a weapon with which to bludgeon their celeb "enemy" and their fanbase.

i'm struggling to think of any female celebs who don't kowtow to femininity (a male invention that is inherently anti-woman). even the slightest deviation from the rules (a little bit of armpit hair, a haircut shorter than your ear lobes, a bare face (not the alicia keys "bare face" makeup, but actual bare face) etc etc) leads to almost instant social ostracisation. katy perry was on top of the world when she cut her hair shorter and her career flat-lined. even the most powerful female celebs like taylor and beyonce and dua, etc, are writhing around on stage in skin-tight lycra bodysuits with their ass cheeks out, every body hair below their eyebrows plucked out. you see men of similar power doing that humiliating shit? of course not. femininity is revolting, and one of the greatest tricks the patriarchy ever pulled was convincing society that hatred of femininity was misogyny instead of an empowering mindset. we gotta eliminate femininity to even begin to discuss liberation of the female sex, and that can't happen while female celebs are upholding it. but female celebs can't stop upholding it unless they all do it together, because any single woman who steps out of line will simply be discarded and replaced by a younger, more naked, more hairless, more feminine and malleable girl.

tl;dr we live in a misogynistic world, and celebs merely hold up a mirror to that misogyny. we cannot even have a discussion about feminism and celebrity until we get to a stage of female liberation where women can exist as neutral human beings rather than as feminine puppets.

some good thoughts here! i don't 100% agree with everything (for example, katy perry didn't flop because she cut her hair short, but the reason she flopped might still have to do with misogynistic ageism) and i definitely want to clarify that this isn't inherent to sex. this is GENDER performance. BUT i agree that performance of femininity is a huge part of celebrity. how could they not be? celebrities only exist by upholding the status quo. naturally their appearance and performances would adhere to that. beauty norms are extremely narrow and white supremacist, so it's even worse/harder for Black women and other woc to be accepted.

and it is degrading! the consequences for stepping out of it are immediate and disproportionate because society at large sees it as a major crime to break out of it.

Field exercise time to help the students level up, likely in anticipation of the coming battle against the demon lord’s forces. Speaking of Patrick, it’s no surprise Yumiella is so taken by him so soon. He’s the first guy to actually treat her like a girl. So we just got back from wrestle bash and we had SUCH a good time.

Beanie got to meet willow who as soon as she saw Beanie she gave her the biggest grin and had her hands on her hips and said “now whose this?” Beanie told her her real name and we told her how excited Beanies been all week to meet willow and she like put her hands to her chest and made the aww so sweet face. Beanie picked which photo she wanted signed (not the one I wanted but w.e It’s for her) and we all took a pic together. Willow had jeans with large holes in them so I could see the tape on her knees and asked if it would be better for me to pick Beanie up so she didn’t have to bend down and she kept waving it off saying she’s fine it’s for the swelling and then did like a little twerk to show her knees were good which had me cracking up and as someone afraid to take photos these came out great. Beanie got a hug and told her to keep kicking butt and willow said that for her she will.

Next to willows table was Kip and Penelope who I wanted autos and pics with. Kip said the photo I picked is his favorite one. And as he was getting up me and penelope talked a bit and I told her how much I love her makeup cause she was talking bout the makeup in her photo. I told her I attempted to do that style but well 🤷‍♀️ and she said she thought I looked great and that for the bottom she doesn’t use eye makeup she actually uses lipstick and I was FLABBERGASTED like lipstick on your eyes but she swears by it and says she puts just a bit and then like blends it under her lid and showed me on her eyes and Kip was just watching her and smiling and ya’ll this man is in LOVE and like I do not blame him. We took the photos I thanked them and my husband was just whispering to me saying they should date cause they’re beautiful and I told him good news they’re actually married and he just nodded and was like that’s probably the most beautiful man he’s ever seen and I’m nodding like yup Kip is the prettiest guy I’ve ever seen.

Next to them was colt but he was filming and we nopped outta there. The lucha brothers and Alex were all together and had a long line next to the speakers which will come into play in a bit. On the other side of the speakers was thunderrosa. The one guy who used to be with swerve was there the one without the face tats. And Athena and Alicia fox were there and hugging each other which was so sweet. JR bischoff sabu rhino and diamond Dallas page were in the large room and ddp had the longest line going through the room and out into the hotels hallway. In the other room was billy Gunn who also had a long line and beanie was now getting hungry and tired of walking so I said well I’m broke we can go but hubby said no and gave me money for beanie and I to take a pic with Ethan. Now I’m stoked

So we get on Ethan’s line we’re the third people on line. Whoever is in the front is giving him gifts buying everything at the table taking pics like they’re making memories and paying for everything so good for them. The issue is it’s Ethan’s table earl hebner and then the lucha brothers with the speakers next to them. Someone keeps going on the speakers trying to hype up the room saying which wrestlers just showed up etc and it’s a hotel conference room like the acoustics are not great in here and we didn’t bring Beanies noise canceling headphones. So we’re covering her ears, she’s hot from standing it’s now 15 mins with the people still with Ethan and talking to him and I’m like let’s just go. Hubby says no you are making your memories. So we stay the lady in front of us thankfully has heard the convo and us trying to keep beanie from crying cause when she cries the the face and photos are red. So it’s our turn beanie tells me she doesn’t want to take a picture I say fine is it okay of I do it alone she says sure. I tell Ethan just a photo and just with me beanie doesn’t want to take a picture anymore and do like a little shrug. YA’LL this is where shit got bad but great. This man whose almost as tall as her own daddy and has a big booming voice opens his arms and yells out to my 5 year old “YOU DONT WANT A PICTURE WITH ME!”

I’m staring at Ethan and his face drops as soon as he says it cause beanie screams runs and hides behind her daddy’s legs. I’m looking at Ethan like

Now he’s trying to talk lower beanie is not here for ANY of it and I’m still like dude you have kids and he hangs his head and is like I should know better why didn’t I know better! I said forget about that I’m talking bout the interview with Bryce and Eddie and his eyes light up and I said I have listened to that interview on repeat so many times when I’m chilling or drawing or whatever so ty because without you I’d never know Eddie loves tigger and he laughs gives me a big hug and said yeah he’s a huge tig fan and said I don’t know why people open up to me but they do and I stare up at him he’s very tall and very pretty and I just New York honesty say “maybe it’s the Canadian thing you’re safe and friendly.” He throws his head back and starts laughing and I’m staring at him and I’m like… oh no he’s really freaking pretty. So he tries to talk to beanie again who now seeing the pretty man laugh and smile is no longer hiding but she refused to take a picture with him so he gave her a little Ethan page toy and she said ty and he apologized again and asked if she’s mad at him she said no we can be friends but no more yelling and he agreed and they fist bumped.

So we’re leaving and beanies had ENOUGH (idk what she thinks is gonna happen at nycc cause she’s too big for a stroller so like the kid is in for it) and as we’re making our way through the parking lot Kip is coming back from his car and I said bye Kip have a good weekend he blows a kiss said ty love and I just went for it and asked if we’ll see him in London and he goes yyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee… maybe? Does like a finger gun thing and we laughed and he went back inside. All in all a very fun day great memories. For a con we didn’t know existed until two days ago I’m glad we went.

I thought I was alright.

But with my exams coming up, social anxiety, an eating disorder and parent problems, this was the least of my worries.

My so called 'Crush' had a girlfriend, and it's time I accepted that I also may be aromantic or reciprosexual. I've only recalled feeling a crush a twice. When I was in kindergarten, first grade, and in like the ending of third to the first day of fifth grade, when i barely even had a concience. That's it. And as I got older, everyone found their spark, so by the time I was in 6th grade, I knew something was off. Why wasn't I experiencing this feeling?

Now, I've finally stopped trying to force myself to feel what my brain and body was never meant to feel. And this guy helped me realize it.

So let's call him Ethan, and his girlfriend... Alicia.

Long story short, I thought I liked him, but he sorta made me realize that this is not me and it's okay.

His style always stood out to me. He wore this hat and always kinda dressed up like a kpop idol.

Yes, we never spoke, heck he didn't even know I exist till now, I always admired him from afar.

But this one girl in one of my classes, a girl we'll call Cadence, eavesdrops on my conversation with my best friend Kitty about my realization. (kitty was super supportive, I love her so much)

Seems like cadences brain is too small to comprehend more than one word, so she goes.

"Soleil, you like Ethan?"

I say "No, I don't. Excuse me." In response and leave to the restroom to calm down.

Then later, I bump into Alicia on accident on my way to the library, (who i didnt know was his gf) and this was how our convo went,

And I continued to the library to study for our boooooring research project.

I saw her there as well about ten minutes later, and she comes up to me with Cadence next to her, and goes.

"Is your name Soleil?"

"Y-yeah... Why."

Just looks at me like I was a bug.

"Why are you trying to steal my boyfriend?"

"Excuse me?" I don't know why but i just lost it here. "I'm Aromatic. I don't know why you think I'd stoop so low as to steal your boyfriend, when I can't even feel proper romantic attraction. Get a brain, bitch."

Then I just picked up my bag and left the library, I was fine until i got outside, then the realisation hit me and my oversensitve ass has to cry about it, because I immediately knew a stupid little rumor had spread.

So then I was in class, and my professor asks me if I was okay in the hallway, and I told her EVERYTHING. She got quite angry, and gave me permittion to skip this class ( it was the days last class for mee) and that she'll send me the notes. (She's the best, bro. One day, she just pulled a out a panera bread cookie from her desk in the middle of class and gave it to me because I said I was hungry.) I thanked her and left to my dorm, and now I'm writing this cuz I fave noting better to do.

Sometimes being younger than everyone else around you can be tough. I'm surrounded by people in my year that are 18-24 months older than me. I'm in my second year of college as an 18 year old BTW. Hi, I'm sorry this is probably an odd question, but would you ever be willing to write a deaf and / or hard of hearing reader?

I've never read a fic with a deaf/hard of hearing reader like me before, and I just wanted to see if you'd ever consider it? I understand if not. It's no biggie, mostly asking out of curiosity 😅

not me getting really excited to reply to this saying i’ve literally got an alicia clark fic in the drafts where reader loses her hearing, only to realise she loses her sight not her hearing 😭😂

but to actually answer your question, i wouldn’t mind writing something with a hard of hearing/deaf reader! only thing is, i’m not deaf myself so i feel like it wouldn’t be as authentic? and the last thing i’d want to do is offend anyone!

if you don’t mind me asking (or anyone else who happens to fit this description feel free to answer lol), what sorts of things would be realistic to include for a deaf/hard of hearing reader? like do they actually read lips when working out convos, and can they just switch off their hearing aid if they don’t wanna hear (like i do with my contacts/glasses when i don’t wanna see lol)?

stuff like that ^ i’d love to know if you’re after something specific, just so i could make it more realistic!
