The Spiritual Impact of Anger in 3 Nephi 12:22
In both the New Testament and the Book of Mormon, Jesus addresses anger with similar intensity.
Understanding Anger: Insights from 3 Nephi 12:22 When it comes to anger, it’s not just about what we do; it’s about what’s simmering inside. In 3 Nephi 12:22, we find a profound exploration of this emotion’s impact on our relationships and our spiritual path. It’s echoed in Matthew 5:22, where a similar invitation calls for introspection on how anger can lead us astray. Anger isn’t just an…

Posting a sneak-peak of this now because I'm about to be In The Shit school workload-wise, so this'll take me a while to finish.
Doing some character design exploration/expression sheets for Celestia and Luna. Figuring out Celestia's weird ass anatomy while I'm at it.

i don't talk enough about Price's anger and how he probably has genuine, diagnosable issues with rage that absolutely impact almost all of his relationships in major ways. and i should probably change that asap.

My friends think I like to fight, but it's just not true. Sometimes I lose my temper and blow off a little steam—but I've never enjoyed it. I'm not a violent dog. I don't know why I bite.
RAPH AND ANGER

imagine dominating a yandere soobin
warnings. dubcon/NC, sub soobin
Tumblr media
yan!soobin who has you pinned down to his bed his hold unrelenting against your wrists, no doubt creating red marks around them, the intensity of his ramblings increasing and increasing by the second that it scares you shitless, frozen under his looming figure. “you know im doing all of this because i love you right? i love you for fucksakes. i love you.”
you shake your head timidly because this wasnt love, any sane person knows that—no, everyone knows that, even soobin. he knows it isnt love.
when he leans down closer to your face, trying to kiss you, you kick him again, still attempting to struggle out of his hold but that only serves to press against the tent in his pants, soobins breathing hitching—suddenly getting heavier to your horror. “soobin. let…me…go.” you try to keep your breathing in control, not letting your voice break, pleading.
he shakes his head, eyes crazed and desperate. “no, no i wont. i wont. i love you. i cant. ive—ive done… everything for you, i-”
the moment you feel his hold weakening, you yank your hand, immediately going to strike his face—out of pure outrage, the fact that he has even an ounce of audacity to convince you that hes somehow doing you good, that he’s owed anything for his insanity. but then you regret it. so deeply. seeing his bangs fall over his eyes with his head turn to the side and his cheek flushed red, your hand shakes, your whole body trembles at what he might do to you now. he looks even more deranged.
but when he turns to face you again, his expression is totally different from what you expected to be met with. his brows pointed up, eyes clouded, and lips apart, panting.
lust. its lust.
“do anything, do everything. i don’t care.” he picks up your hand up to his cheek again, smiling—smiling. “use me, be angry, slap me, bite me, its okay baby i can take it.”

one of the most important things terry pratchett has taught me is that it's okay to be angry. no one has ever said that to me before. he taught me that anger was an engine. that you can use that anger. that it goes hand in hand with love. he taught me to never underestimate my anger, because it's one of my strongest points. he taught me genuine anger was one of the world’s great creative forces. he taught me i shouldn't be fighting my anger, but what caused it. he himself said rage underlines everything he wrote. i never heard anger talked about so openly like that before and it's freeing, i suppose, to realize you are truly, truly not alone in your rage at the world. you never were.

y'know what. sometimes there is something wrong with you. and i don't mean in a "you are broken and that makes you unworthy" way, just in the "your brain/body does not work the way it's expected to and that's why things are so hard" way
like as someone who grew up constantly being told there was nothing wrong with me and i just had to try harder to clean/socialise/work, knowing i had ADHD earlier would've saved me a LOT of guilt. knowing i have IBS would've prevented a lot of pain/embarrassment from not being able to manage it yet. i wish someone had told me there was a reason i couldn't do things instead of just telling me i was fine. people reassuring me i didn't have any issues to spare me the shame of being "different" only made me feel worse about not being able to function like everyone else!!!
idk sometimes i just wish i knew there was something different about me sooner bc then i would've had an explanation and a way to get better instead of just a lot of self loathing

The Power of a Broken Heart in Faith
In 3 Nephi 12:19, the teachings of Jesus resonate with timeless wisdom. Within the Book of Mormon, this verse emphasizes the importance of a humble heart and obedience to God's will.
Understanding 3 Nephi 12:19: “A Broken Heart and a Contrite Spirit” in Overcoming Anger When we read 3 Nephi 12:19 and its call for a “broken heart and a contrite spirit,” we’re drawn into the heart of a transformative Christian teaching. This concept is not a mere request but a powerful invitation to genuine repentance and a profound relationship with God. The phrase signifies a surrender of…

traits in other people that the touchstarved characters dislike on a visceral level:
vere: empathy. vere used to be a god, false or not, so for someone to try to condescend him by saying they understand him, or, worse, that they feel bad for him... it rankles his pride and sets his teeth on edge. how far the mighty have fallen for ants to pity someone they used to cower before.
mhin: indulgence. mhin hates their monstrous nature and monstrosity by extension, so they despise seeing people indulge in monstrosity. to revel in something so unnatural, so wrong, when they've done their best to contain what they can and control what they can't--no wonder mhin can't stand vere and ais.
leander: superiority. leander is always in charge, whether it's through charisma, overt leadership, or more shadowy schemes. if he acts weak, then it's usually a facade and part of some plan he has in mind. so to truly face something he can't win, something that far outclasses him... it's a reminder of his own powerlessness, and he despises an unwinnable challenge.
ais: ease. ais loves a bloody challenge. the more it pushes him, the better, so when a fight comes easily, when someone succumbs without a struggle, when the win is just handed to him, it bores him to an intolerable degree. softness to the point of rot: it's the one thing that he can't truly stand.
kuras: decadence. kuras has always been a shepherd who guides his wayward flock. as someone who believes in his own guilt and his need for repentance, he truly can't understand those who are selfish, those who are cruel, those who live by their own whims without considering the world around them. it's distasteful, and far too short-sighted.

actually i think it's interesting that practically everyone's interpretation of valentino is that he has severe substance abuse issues & is high 50% of the time, when in the show he's shown disparagingly talking about addicts in a way that implies he doesn't see himself as one. and i'm not using "interesting" as a substitute for "oh boy do i fucking hate this" i just genuinely think it's fascinating. the juxtaposition of him looking down on addicts while refusing to acknowledge his own substance abuse problems is direly under explored and it's like, Right There. it's prime character study material

Hot take, anyone who thinks Dick Grayson has a persistent case of anger issues just doesn't know what anger issues are.
Does he get angry? Yes (I sure would hope so since he's a human being). Would I call it anger issues? No, not really.
