Hello! I apologize if this is a nosy question, but what is the silly feelings wheel app you were talking about in a previous post? My therapist and I have been working on identifying feelings but I still very much rely on a list of feeling words to have any idea what I’m feeling, so it could be a helpful resource. No worries if you don’t want to share, just thought I would ask :)

It's called How We Feel! I'm not sure if it's available on all devices yet, but it's on ios and the google play store for sure.

I've been using it for about a year. It's more of a chart than a wheel but people usually recognize the wheel better so that's what I call it. When you first start it has a 10-part tutorial about emotional acceptance and regulation, then it has suggestions for each category of emotion. You can access both at any time tho after those first 10 days.

It has a share option so you can have friends, which has been great for me cause it prompts me to check on friends and them to do the same for me. It allows you to just respond with a little emoji in like a "I'm here for you" little notification to your friend, or you can reach out to your friend on your own. Its really helped me cause I'm bad at reaching out when I need support so to me and I'm bad about taking on other's problems even when I can't handle it so being able to send a little emoji instead to make sure my friends know I'm there if they need me and them doing the same has been great

I agree with a lot of your points. I’m glad we know how much of a dumpster fire development was because this game hurts. Both good and bad. I obviously don’t know but some of the writing does feel like damage control, things aren’t mentioned but they’re also not denied. Isabella could still be with Hawke and just not have mentioned it. Awkward for sure but still possible. Combined with the DLC statement (tho I hope with the sales and reception EA will reconsider) I think they just wanted to get this out the door before EA full on canceled the game. It does suck, I’m not in denial about that. I want all those cameos and spotlights, (hell where is my girl Merrill? She FIXED a mirror on her own, there’s gotta be something there right?) but I’m hopeful for the next game.

I really do think that this game was BioWare fighting against EA, and EA's influence runs heavy through this game. I am so glad this is not a MMORPG or adjacent kinda game.

Do I think we'll get a DLC? Honestly? No. Not unless VG does very very well in sales (i haven't looked at the numbers and don't know what their projections were), and people constantly keep the hype up on social media. I would FROTH AT THE MOUTH to get a 'Keep' DLC, with none of the side quests actually having an impact on the main story, but we get to see & help out our old friends. A DLC where we learn more about the lore and history of the veil and spirits. If I am a new player to the DA franchise in this game, I feel the need to keep the veil up. Its spoken about ad nauseum. But, if you've played Inquisition, you know that its actually the veil that turns spirits to demons (Solas/Cole banter). Yes, there are some demons in the fade, but not as many as the game leads you to believe.

I'm rambling. Do I think we'll get a new game? they certainly set it up that way. I'm not on twitter but apparently devs have said there is plans for it. will it take 10 years? I fucking hope not. Hopefully development on 5 is more streamlined. Keep it an offline RPG. Not pass it through so many hands. Let BioWare cook with it. Let the community council pick apart the lore. But most importantly, is Corrine and Trick need to still care. Caring about something is what makes it great. And if they're burnt out or overworked or have to fight with EA, that's gunna show up in the game.

The scariest thing about Veilguard, for me, is that it didn't suck. I think its a good game in its own right. But its not a DRAGON AGE game. I'm hoping that this is because Trick wanted to make it his own, move away from Gaiders influence, and that they'll listen to fans and make the next game more adult, darker. Meaner (no, killing a dog doesn't make it mean, its just feels like a D&D/GoT way to SuBvErT ExPeCtaTiOns). This is a very esteemed franchise, and VG did drop the ball. Maybe not drop, but, rolled it over somewhere else? In a different direction. Which, again, isn't bad. Its just not Dragon Age.

When we heard about "the three choices" controversy, I posted something, i wonder if I can find it hang on. Bam got it.

The thing is, the Devs HAVE TO. HAVE TO. Care about the game. They have to put their blood sweat and tears into these games to make them fantastic. And I think, right now, they're probably tired. They need a break. And I don't want to rush them into anything, because shit is better if you let them have the time to cook it.

Repetition like. ok so we know the actual process of generation loss is the corruption of analog footage over time as its being copied/reproduced. At the end of The Inauguration it says “your failures have not forgotten” I feel like this is saying you can retry, but actions have consequences. I love time loops so I’m just. I just want time loops please. Like at some point we will start over/return to an area, but it will be wrong, corrupted. I’m absolutely picturing a scene where The Hero walks into a scene and is like “this has happened before this isn’t right” and all the other actors refuse to acknowledge it

His patience ended when, out of nowhere, the strings of his lyre jumped close to his face as they snapped. Making that awful noise that couldn’t mean nothing good.

Okay, enough, who is messing around in here? No more joking in his nation!

He concentrated a little, a faint but unique presence kept his nerves on edge, as if he was being watched from afar. He moved away from the busy areas and then chased that ephemeral energy to the highest point of the church, where the bells were ringing in an irregular and stressful way.

CREATING CONFLICT

(how to plot good)

…

so you want to write a story. you have plenty of ideas about the characters, the setting, the way it all changes over time… but you’re at a standstill with the plot. it’s not interesting enough, not enough tension in there, not enough goes wrong.

if you’re anything like me, you’ve run into this problem countless times.

so here’s some tips on how to make an engaging, character-driven plot:

1. ASK THE QUESTION: WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

i’ll admit this is pretty generic advice, but hear me out.

plots needs problems, right? i’ve personally always found making things go wrong hard, and thinking like this helped me start coming up with much more interesting plots.

i started thinking: what’s the worst thing that could possibly happen, according to the main character? what’s the worst possible outcome in their mind, and how does this change over time?

(this establishes stakes, and gives you more of an idea of what matters to them.)

next, do this for a few other characters. this could help establish sub-plots, or just give some of those side characters more depth. and it doesn’t have to be anything huge, either. doesn’t have to be as big as the death of a messenger carrying vital plans for humanity’s survival, or a betrayal by an ally. the worst possible thing in the context of their world and the story could be their crush reading their diary, or getting stuck with their ex on a plane.

the point is, force them into a difficult situation. something largely out of their control, but where they still have choices to make.

2. ONCE ITS GONE WRONG, THINK ABOUT DIFFERENT CHARACTER RESPONSES

different people react differently to the same situation. people will have different ideas on how to solve a problem, and which problems take priority. this creates ample opportunity for conflict between characters, as well as for characters with little in common to form unconventional alliances.

the characters’ reactions to the problem and the choices they make after is the cornerstone of a good, character-driven plot. let them be put in an impossible situation and make choices that change them, or else further root them in their ways. let them make bad decisions, morally questionable decisions, relateable decisions. make those decisions cause more conflict and more problems than they solve, at first.

and, importantly - make them make sense with the characters, in the context of the story. selfish people don’t become selfless overnight, compassionate people don’t condemn thousands without trying everything else and being backed into a corner. there’s another thing - back your character into a corner. make them think they’re backed into a corner - but always give them that choice. many choices, even, if you can and it works. but their personalities and experiences will often make it so that only one choice is really clear in that moment in the story, and that is the hallmark of character-driven stories.

and don’t forget to think about the supporting cast, too - the antagonist should be faced with choices, too, as well as allies of your main character. internal conflict is just as powerful and creates just as much interesting and complex dynamics and tensions between the characters as external conflict.

3. THINK ABOUT YOUR END

(really i’d recommend you always start with your end in mind, but i understand sometimes the beginning and middle may come first to people. which is fine, but i’ve always found it harder to plot like that.)

so now you have a problem, and characters that need to react to that problem. now would be a good time to ask:

how do you want the characters to change throughout the story?

how would you like the story to end?

is there a message you’d like your readers to take away from the story?

(bare in mind you don’t need a message necessarily, not at this stage or at all, if that’s not the kind of writing you want to do. but some people have one in mind and now is certainly a good time to think about it.)

the answer to those questions should help you figure out which choices your characters are going to be making and which corners you’re going to need to back them into in order to get to your end point.

4. MAKE THE CHARACTER QUESTION WHO THEH ARE

this is honestly one of my favourite ways to create conflict in a plot, because it works so well. here’s an example:

pretend you’re writing a story about a young galactic war general, for example, well-respected and honourable but inexperienced in making difficult decisions. say they have a strong moral compass, and the deeply value their integrity and loyalty to their nation.

the best possible way to create conflict here is to back them into a situation where a clear right-or-wrong choice simply isn’t present. challenge their moral compass, and the integrity and loyalty they’ve so firmly made a part of their self-identity. make them question their superior’s choices, question who’s right and who’s not.

and then - and this is completely up to you - decide how they’re going to change from this. will they hold on to their loyalty, and continue to make increasingly questionable choices with less and less consideration of the consequences? lose their compassion and moral sense in the name of duty and responsibility? or will they go against their superiors and defect? do what they believe to right, risking everything?

this clashing of values is extremely effective, i’ve found.

(and if you wanted to be really cruel to your poor character - deceive them. make them make that difficult choice with the wrong information, or with a warped idea of the consequences.)

there should be plenty of characters involved here that want very different things, and have very different ideas about how to get there, creating more and more outside pressure as needed. some of them will have their own difficult choices to make so they can change in the way you want them too, end up in a situation where people switch sides or change their minds and allies become enemies, and vice versa. the important thing is, tho, to make the choices make sense.

(ie. give them a reason for going one way or the other. back to our general example: if they choose to conform and remain loyal, why? what tips the scales?)

man the moment the team realize that their target will most probably only give out their information (and there are two targets, husband and wife, this detail is important later) only towards somebody they are attracted to (the reason for this, vyn explains, is that this couple has been documented to tout around valuable intelligence as a bargaining chip as lure for people they desire) the meeting room goes quiet and awkward.

and mc has seen spy movies, she knows it's usually the woman who has to do the sexy undercover honeypot, and she KNOWS that none of the boys are going to force her but also she wants to solve this case.

however, before she can volunteer it's like

marius: okay, i'll go

everybody else: WHAT!!!

marius: what?

marius explains the obvious pros of him being the honeypot. first off, the most obvious thing, is that hes well known and hot shit in the media and the social class that these targets are. it wouldnt be out of place at all, it wouldnt raise any alarm bells for him to arrive at the hoity toity event the couple is going to be at. second off, he confidently says that HES confident. he acknowledges vyn tho, like vyn is sublimely confident in an elegant manner, but marius says hes Better because hes younger and nearly everybody underestimates him at first glance. vyn puts people on guard while marius is aware that people have the tendency to put themselves above him, which is catnip for targets like this who love to feel in power.

and lastly he smirks and says "everybody here knows that im the most attractive person here."

the team roll their eyes at his last point but they also concede that the rest of his reasons are sound. he really is the best choice for this specific task.

immediately, they all get to work on planning. vyn wants to run marius through how to hone his "confident but please show me ur soooo much cooler than me" vibes. artem and mc start working on the specifics on the information they need to get from the targets, outlining certain dialog prompts or lines thatll help steer the conversation. marius listens intently, absorbing all the information and asking questions when he needs to, and hes so focused that he almost forgets the little tremble of his heart because

luke hasnt said a word

luke has barely looked at him the moment marius volunteered

the meeting comes to a close and luke breaks his silence. "marius," he says. his voice is controlled, uncharacteristically betraying not a single emotion. "stay here for a bit. there's some things i want to talk to you about."

and it's not a suggestion. it's a declaration. so marius stays.

the conversation between them that happens, both of them alone at the nxx hq, is, in one word, ridiculous. luke is trying to convince marius to NOT do this thing, trying to bring up other methods. marius shoots all of luke's alternatives down, citing how theyre not as efficient, not as foolproof. luke gets angry, he says that these targets could get dangerous, he confronts marius as to why he has such little regard for his own well being. and marius snaps, confronting luke back and hissing why the fuck are YOU so interested in MY well being?

because heres the thing: theyre not dating. luke and marius arent in a relationship.

but they are...something

neither of them are stupid. they can tell theres a tension between them that grows stronger and stronger with every fleeting yet lingering touch, with every moment their gaze locks onto the other first and for much too long. they both know what theyre running from, but they both also dont want to stop running.

luke concedes. he cant reveal why he cares, thatd be disastrous. so he allows marius to go through with this on the condition that marius follows every fucking order luke gives him on the mission.

"i'm the one with undercover experience, here," luke says and hes right. "youre going to follow what i say."

"fine," marius grouses, looking away, trying not to examine too closely just how much he'd follow luke pearce to the ends of the earth.

FAST FORWARD THRU THE PREP OF THIS MISSION. key things that happen are

artem and mc running verbal sparring matches against marius to train him and for all that artem and mc are skilled attorneys, marius makes sure to make every conversation lean to his side, in terms of "winning." he has meetings like this with the PAX board every monday, hes got the experience lol

vyn trains marius through the mannerisms and tendencies of the type of person hes supposed to be playing and marius knocks it out of the ballpark because marius has spent his entire gotdamn life learning how to be what other people say he is. give him a role and he'll win the fucking oscar award

and luke goes to marius' office late at night, telling marius about plan a, plan b, and the entire rest of the alphabet of backup plans. because luke pearce is always thinking of the worst case scenario and he doesnt want marius to fall to that.

(and if during these nights in marius' office, both of them get quiet and look at each other, and marius darts his eyes down to the frown that graces luke's lips, and luke notices and his cheeks redden and he turns away, well. nobody needs to know about that.)

once it's mission day, luke is the one who sets marius up with an audio transmitter. gently, he loops it over marius' earlobe (and marius does Not shiver at the touch. he doesnt. and if he does, shut up about it. luke definitely doesnt bring it up).

the transmitter is designed as a silver snake, winding and elegant, the perfect earcuff to complement marius' whole outfit.

LEMME SPEED THRU THIS BIT NOW. the target couple approach him and they have polite conversation about business for a while. then that conversation turns into something a little more alluring and packed with flirting and passes from both parties of the couple and marius is glad that hes so hot that it's that easy. but also he plays hard to get, because he needs this couple to bring out the info that will "convince him"

Levi by default is an insecure man when it comes to relationships, ok? He thinks he's ugly and he's got zero experience in that stuff. He needs reassurance that you want him 1000000% of the time.

BUT two cold and stern characters paired up together is a really challenging trope but def fit for a slow burn.

The Shogun is a puppet created by Ei to act as the ruler of Inazuma. This puppet follows a set of directives programmed into her, which are extremely hard to modify even by Ei herself. The Shogun thinks of herself as Ei's assistant, and does exactly as she wishes, no more and no less; she cannot act without Ei's direction

You asked rather sincerely 

Looking out again at the rain, he weighed his choices. He was going to be drenched if he crossed the road but what if you were one of those fans that would expose where he was to everyone? 

He was feeling a little suspicious inside, afterall why would you close the shop to business just for him?

‘You can take the table furthest away from the window if you’re worried’

He looked at you, judging a book by it’s cover. And decided it doesn’t appear like you would turn out to be one of those crazy fans and took the option of waiting out the rain. 

His phone was running out of battery, so instead of sitting by the corner table all bored and lonely, Baekhyun sat on the bar counter table instead; facing you and the other male employee who were busy with fresh bakes.

You presented a bite size muffin on a white plate and gave it over to him. ‘It’s on the house, we’re not going to have any more customers anyway’

Being curious since the start, he asked ‘why would your boss open a cafe right here? It’s really not the best location to be attracting people right?’

Laughing slightly, you replied

‘My boss? That would be me, and does this cafe look like I want to attract people in? The tables are all for 2s, I’m just encouraging solitude here’

‘You own this place? Wow I would suppose you’re only in your early 20s right? Anyway this place does give a sense of quietness that we dont quite get outside. I like it’ He lively replied

‘Yeah, I just wanted people that come by to be able to stop and find quietness they don’t get anywhere else. Finding time for themselves to be away from noisy city life just a few minutes away’

Not really having anything to say to that deep thought of yours, he simply replied ‘Ahh... I see. Uh, thanks for muffin, it smells tasty’

You smiled politely and left him to himself as you cleaned up the open kitchen.

The rain that was beating the ground outside was almost like a lullaby to Baekhyun. The warmth of the shop and the music aided the rain and drowsy effects he was having, shortly without knowing, he drifted to sleep. --

‘Baekhyun ssi, Baekhyun ssi’ you tapped him lightly till he woke up

‘It stopped raining, do you want to head off’

‘Oh my , can’t believe I slept, but that was certainly the quietness I need, haha. I’ll be leaving. Thank you for the coffee’

As he left, he thought to himself that he will surely be back.

A week later, he came back. On that day, he saw from outside that you were casually sitting down by on of the tables, chatting with a middle age office lady.

Opening the door, he caught your attention and you smiled slightly to acknowledge. As you were the only working employee today, you got up from the table to serve him.

‘Hi Baekhyun ssi, I see you’re back. Ice americano for you? Or would you like to try something else? Wendy’s special for a bright sunny day’

‘Sure I’ll go for the Wendy’s special’

Handing over the coffee to baekhyun, you asked

‘I heard EXO’s preparing for a comeback. How’s it going for you?’

‘Did you search up on EXO after you saw me last week? Hahaha. Anyway it’s fine, it’s just the discipline in diet, exercise and health that’s annoying’

‘I see. And nah, don’t make me sound like a stalker fan please. I just moderately keep up with kpop in general’

‘Anyway is the middle age lady there your friend? Or do you just chat with your customers all the time?’

‘Oh, she’s just a customer. Really depends though, some people come here seeming to have heavy thoughts, sometimes when I notice I’ll just casually chat with them. Some others are here really putting up a do not disturb sign. Those I wouldn’t bother’

Being cheeky, Baekhyun asked ‘what about me?’

You thought for a while before answering

‘Like a cat? Like those I would give some affection to before letting them run off so they don’t start scratching me. I mean not saying you would be aggressive, but rather, I’m sure a good balance of chat and quietness would be best for you’

Raising his brows and thinking through what you just said, he smiled after a while and went on sipping his Wendy’s special by the counter again. Occasionally, he would look up from his phone to chat with you.

For that 1 month, it seems like he started developing a routine to drop by your cafe for short breaks. He enjoyed your company and somehow your cafe seemed like a place of comfort and refuge. With you, he could talk about anything, from the laughters to the deep insides. Over there, the burdens of being an idol is always momentarily lifted.

On the first week of the 2nd month you guys met. He dropped by again, only to find that the lights were off. A little surprised, he went up to the door which pasted a notice

‘the shop will be closed till further notice due to the owner’s personal reasons. Sorry for any inconvenience caused’

His regular high spirits whenever he came by was dampened as he read the notice. Turning back, he headed off.

The next two weeks, he drove by repeatedly, at least 2 times a week, but your shop was still closed.

It made him a little worried, did something happen to you? But seeing how you left this shop behind with just a notice also made him feel a little down, strangely. It made him think that was he nothing but just a customer to you? He had thought you guys were friends, friends with a special bond, one who he could tell everything to, and place so comfortable almost like his home sofa. But the sign that hung coolly by the cafe’s door left no sign of that friendship held.

Whenever he wasn’t working or was by himself, he pondered over what happened to you. Looking at his phone, he suddenly felt a disconnect. You both knew so many things bout each other but not each other’s numbers. There was nothing to call to reach you. Wherever you are, were you thinking about what you left behind?

He thought to himself 

let’s not be too invested into this coincidental friendship

He made up his mind, tomorrow he was going to make a final intentional trip down. If you were still closed, he told himself he would never drop by intentionally again just to check if you were open.

Driving by the next day, his heart was beating fast. And was as if the heavens heard his words, the lights of your cafe were on.

The sign outside still hung closed, but he walked briskly over and stood by the door. You saw him and beckoned him inside.

��Hey! What’s up with you? Where did you go? ’ Within him he heaved a sigh of relief, finally seeing you again. But his heart wouldn’t stop racing as he waited for your answer. Looking at your face, he can’t help but notice you’ve lost some weight, making him a little worried.

‘Hey Baekhyun ssi, it’s nice seeing you again’

You smiled at him your normal smile and there was no hint of anything extra apart from the normal customer service you gave him. Your lukewarm reply bothered him a little, was he the only one who considered you both as friends? That thought came but left quickly

‘I went home to visit my parents, unfortunately I fell ill. Pneumonia.. Got me in bed for a really long time’

‘Oh no, no wonder you lost some weight? I hope you’re feeling much better already. But you’re not opened today?’

‘Yes I just came back to tidy up this place.’

Not really wanting to leave yet, he offered to clean the place for you, also worried you might not be feeling the most recovered yet.

‘Do you want to have dinner together tonight?’ Baekhyun asked on impulse.

You looked up, a little surprise, but didn’t reject it. 

‘Probably not at restaurants or something though. Delivery , do you mind?’ He added

You were never someone who seemed bothered about such trivial things, as expected you agreed.

Over dinner Baekhyun was his chirpy self again, telling you about all he wanted to say the few weeks you guys didn’t met. You listened to him without much words, only saying words when it mattered, as usual.

As you guys were eating and chatting, there came a point where a comfortable silence settled between you both.

Till you broke it

‘Baekhyun ssi, can I share something with you?’

Though he wasn’t expecting this, he was ready to listen.

‘Go ahead’

‘When I went back, I found out my one and only best friend had died in a car accident. And no one told me because they were afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle it alone in Seoul. He.. was all I had.. when I was bullied because people thought I was weird... when I didn’t fit in... he.. he..’ you couldn’t continue as you burst into uncontrollable tears.

Handling such situations was definitely not something Baekhyun was most comfortable with. Catching him off guard, he internally panicked, Omo, what do I do. What should I say? Deciding the only appropriate thing to do was to pat your back or your head. He reached out and gently comfort you, feeling a little awkward.

After a good 3 minutes you finally calmed down. But still, Baekhyun didn’t exactly know what to say to a crying girl

‘Are you feeling better? Care for some BingBing now? Ice cream cannot solve your problems, but it’s sweet at least ’

You managed a laugh, and Baekhyun went to the kitchen fridge to pull out the ice cream that came with the dinner earlier.

On the drive home, Baekhyun decided that sometimes a friend is the ultimate remedy to sorrow. And as much as you have been there to hear him out, he wanted to pay it back to you too.

But slowly, their comeback preparations were getting more and more hectic. He no longer had the liberty of time to plan what he wanted to do. But today, there was a short 2 hour interval of free time and they were free to do whatever they wanted.

Deciding between whether to crash at dance practice room or to head to your cafe, he decided to do the latter instead. Though he was feeling rather tired, it has been at least 3 weeks since he came by to say hi. He left after telling suho he’ll be back swiftly.

Reaching your cafe, he was surprised to see you smiling and laughing so heartily as you were chatting by the counter with a fashionable young man. When you both spoke, you were always giving him polite smiles and laughters, somewhat out of manners? It somehow hurt his pride a little that while he still thought about you when he was away, did you just think of him as a normal customer who would just come and go? It made him feel like his spot in the cafe was easily replaceable.

As he entered, you did not even break away from the conversation you have with the young man. Only until he reached the counter did you look up.

‘Ah! It’s you! It’s been really long! What would you like today ?’

‘6 Iced americanos, thank you’

‘Alright you can take a seat at the corner table first’ handing him his change , you pointed him to the one at the furthest end of the shop.

He came by having the intention to have a short catch up with you, but apart from the exchange of greetings you had pointed him so far away from the counter and busily went off to prepare the amercianos as if he really was just another customer. He laughed a little bitterly and went to sit where you told him to.

When you were done, you brought the coffee to him and dropped to a whisper suddenly.

‘Baekhyun ssi, are you doing well? Sorry I had to cut our conversation short at the counter because of the oppa sitting there. Didn’t want to bring you trouble in case I accidentally say your name’

Smacking himself on the head internally for being so sensitive earlier on, inside of him also wondered what kind of magic does that ‘oppa’ have for you to be so comfortable? The friendship has almost been 3 months but there always seem to be a strange distance between the both of you. Baekhyun knew himself that his personally was not one people found hard to warm up to and neither did he take very long to warm up to others. He was confused, how sometimes your friendship felt so close yet sometimes so far.

‘How have you been? That guy’s your new customer friend?’

‘Not too bad, I started attending some baking classes and in my free time now I just read as usual. Nothing much as changed.

Yeh he’s been coming quite often because he’s back in this area to visit his parents and there’s nothing for him to do’

‘Ahhhh so what kind of customer is he?’ He arrowhead his eyes at him then back to you.

Laughing you replied ‘ just a really funny and nonsensical kind. Kind of just reminds me of my childhood friend I told you about.... oh right, there’s something I want to give you’

Rushing to the kitchen then quickly walking out, you handed him a box. You explained

‘Baekhyun ssi that day I was at a mall and i walked by this tea shop and I dont know why,I thought about you. It’s all without caffeine. I know you’re having your comeback now and you should be really busy. I purposely picked out some that would help you sleep, some that would revitalise you and just some others that could just help you relax.

I’ve kept it for so long but you didn’t come by again. I almost just kept it for myself already.. anyway I’m glad you’re here today so I could pass it to you’

Hearing this from you really made him touched on the inside, but on the outside he didn’t really know let those emotions show. Instead, he merely said

‘Thanks y/n ssi , for thinking about me. I’ll use them well.’ Looking at his watch , he added,

‘I got to go now, see you sometime soon!’

After saying the goodbyes, Baekhyun returned to his car. Setting his Americanos aside, he held the gift in his hand and looked through his driver’s window at you.

At that very moment he finally came to terms with his feelings.

He did not just want a friendship with you, he wanted you as a partner he could tell his everything to, someone that belonged to him and someone he belonged to.

This should make him feel happy and elated, warm and fuzzy. But there was discomfort lying in his heart.

Deep down he knew that desiring anything more than a friendship with you was putting chains on you.

You liked quietness and freedom. But in his world, parts of his life are made public and his freedom was not really freedom at all.

He cannot sink deeper into this, but could he stay away ? His heart clenched.

He tossed the gift aside and drove off.

Anw, I’m sure you guys already know bout baek’s medical condition? My respect and love for baek just hit another level. I really think we are such lucky fangirls to be stanning someone like him. Could I possibly request some team headcanons for Diluc, Razor, Barbara, and Diona? :pensive:

Thank you for the request! I hope you don’t mind me making a deeper dive into Diluc and Diona’s relationship in this one, focusing a bit on this little scenario I had in mind for them.

Team Headcanons: Diluc, Razor, Barbara and Diona

Diluc was kind of reluctant to work with other people at first.

He was sure he is competent enough to deal with every mission himself and even thought out a plan to finish the task the Traveler gave them beforehand all on his own.  

Barbara completely busted him when he tried to sneak out of their hideout and lectured him about it.

He stubbornly stated Diona was too young, Barbara not built for fighting and Razor... “He is certainly a powerful unit, but he is feral. He can barely speak for Barbatos’ sake”.

“You don’t talk much ether”. Barbara argued frowning, she was so disappointed in him. “You are not much better yourself. Traveler trusted us on this, so we need to work together!”

Diluc didn’t have much choice at this point. Going on a treasure hunt with a bunch of kids, what is he a nanny or something? He just hoped to get this over with quickly.

Needless to say, he underestimated pretty much every aspect of this situation they were in. If he was stubborn enough to get caught into this by himself there could be a great chance of him not returning back in one piece. This mission required more time and planning, Diluc needed a team.

Barbara is an absolutely extraordinary healer and a true fighter at heart. She won’t hesitate to throw herself into the thick of it to be helpful during combat.

When the battle is over she will be there, her little dress covered in dust, maybe a smudge of dirt on her round cheeks and ponytails ruined, but always with the brightest smile. “We did it!”

She seemed absolutely fearless and ready to do whatever it takes to win, to prove everyone who would judge her solely on her appearance wrong. 

She herself was amazed by what kind of drive she can feel from being an adventurer. She tried to improve her grasp on Hydro Magic everyday, not only for the sake of healing, but for fighting too.  

She may be a bit self-conscious about her powers, but when she gets better no one will dare to say she is not built for fighting.

Dedication to improving her strength aside, her main passion was still helping and healing. Barbara was always a little shining star of the group, trying to keep everyone’s morale up and to prevent quarrels.

She was also the only one Diona let close to herself at first. She kept her distance with Razor and especially with Diluc, her arch nemesis in Wine Business. “Ew, you give me the creeps! I’m only here to help Traveller with the mission!”

Razor tried his best to stay out of conflicts. “The pack must stick together”. But he still had some disagreements with Diluc on how to handle different situations better. Wolf senses against professionalism of a vigilante, desire to keep the group together against reckless self-reliance.  

In reality, Razor wasn’t the only one with the moral high-ground. Diluc’s behaviour was caused mostly by his desire to protect who he thought were too weak for the dangers they were facing, and a bit by his recent antisocial lifestyle.  

In fact, Diluc acknowledged Razor’s outstanding abilities and ferociousness, but still thought of him as a child, too young to deal with the darkness of this world. Same thing with Barbara’s determination and Diona’s agility and senses. “Possessing a Vision is not enough to fight evil”.

Diona was mostly intrigued by her teammates and happy to have them around, even tho she wouldn’t admit it. She would even go out of her way to show everyone the opposite of how she actually felt not too become vulnerable.

A bunch of people too used to keeping to themselves and poor Barbara trying her best to maintain a positive atmosphere. To say the truth, they just needed time.

Pretty soon Diona and Razor discovered their shared love for hunting. Diona still tend to say mean things along the road of “You smell like a wet dog!” or “Stay away, I don’t want to get fleas!”, like an insecure child she was, trying her best to build thick walls around herself.

One time Razor complimented her bow shooting skills and Diona’s little face turned as pink as her hair, little cat-ears twitching in excitement. “Don’t tease me, you mutt!.. You are okay with your hunting too... I guess”.  

She was now looking forward to evenings when Razor would ask her to come to the woods with him. “Ugh, what took you so long! We have boars to hunt!” And with more time they would even come up with a friendly competition of who gets more kills.

Barbara often starts her morning routine with healing their bruises and picking thorns from their hair after the night hunt. Razor especially loves when she uncombs and brushes his hair. “I can do your hair too sometime”. She teases Diluc jokingly. He always politely declines “Thank you, I’m good”.

It is possible to pinpoint the exact time their team dynamic turned to the better - the day Diona didn’t show up for the group meeting. Strangely, Diluc volunteered to go look for her, almost like he had a strong feeling something was off.

When he was almost ready to start panicking he found Diona hiding in a tree. She had watery red eyes and face smeared with tears. Diluc felt his heart think into his stomach. He usually barely knows how to deal with his own feelings, let alone someone else’s.

That was how Diluc first learned about Diona’s situation with her father. He then asked Elzer to do some snooping around Springvale to confirm some details of the story. Master Diluc was shortly informed about head hunter’s unchecked alcoholism.  

“Master Diluc, should I send people to deal with this matter?”

“No need, I would like to have a talk with him myself”.

Uncrowned King of Mondstadt suddenly turning up to his door one late night was a bit sobering for Draff. Diluc gave him a strong gaze, little flames flashing in his eyes for a brief moment. He welcomed himself to the table, taking a bottle of wine from it, spinning it a bit in his hands, examining his Winery’s label with fake curiosity.  

“Would be a shame if Mondstad’s most famous drink made children miserable, wouldn’t it”. He said thoughtfully to himself before sharply smashing the bottle against the floor.

Draff recovered from shock with a slight delay. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” He screamed, unable to control this burst of rage, still drunkenly slurring his words.

Red liquid that was now spilled across the floor suddenly inflamed, scaring Draff enough for him to lose his balance and fall backwards, so that hot tongues of spreading fire were now nearly reaching his face. The dark figure of Master Diluc was standing in the epicentre completely unflinched.  

He firmly stepped over bottle pieces, that were now melting into obscure shapes. His shadow was looming over poor drunk, whose face turned completely white, tiny cat-ears laid back.  

“I’m making sure I won’t need to come here again”. The flames went out as abruptly as appeared, leaving no trace of the fire that just broke out in the middle of the room. All of the wine burnt, but not a single floorboard damaged, only a faint smoky stench in the air.  

Diluc glanced over Draff one last time, making sure he made his point clear, before heading straight for the door. “Now let me excuse myself”.

After that fiery visit Draff surely laid off on drinking and Diona’s moods drastically improved, even though she never learned about that incident. She even became a bit closer with Diluc, who would now be much softer with her, trying to do what he can to make her life easier.

He even took her fishing one time, something her father haven’t done in ages. Diluc starting to act more like a big brother to Diona surely made Barbara very excited. “See, Razor, I told you they just needed some time!”

General Trollhunters

Falling in the black - Jim had accepted his fate the moment he began pouring out the elixir Merlin made into the bathtub, all that was left now was to go through with it and hope he was doing the right thing.

Night of the CreepSlayerz - Morgana was defeated and the Trollhunter left Arcadia with many of it’s former residents in search of a brand new Heartstone  thus the protection of the town fell to those left behind. It is not quiet though, far from it in fact, for in the fallen Market an evil yet stirs with a siren’s song...

and in the dark i can hear your heartbeat - It’s a long trip to New Jersey and for the only human not the easiest on her feet, still she has Jim with her. Jilaire fluff.

Champion - Angor ponders over what became of the troll he once was after he was forced into servitude by the Pale Lady.

A Mutually Beneficial Relationship - By chance, Angor Rot meets the Trollhunter Tellad-Urr.

General Wizards

A wizards associate - A lovely little tale of how Archie and Douxie possibly met for the first time. You never know what your kindness might produce.

Saudade - There was always gonna be an After when the Order had been temporarily beaten back and the successor to Merlin was forced to flee to keep Nari safe but this was never going to be an easy thing to bear. Follows multiple characters including stop offs with Jim n Co. and Zoe picking up the pieces of suddenly not being in the same town as her centuries long best friend. Does eventually go Zouxie!

Eye of the Hurricane - A lost moment after arriving at Hex tech, Douxie goes to take a breather and is given the chance to chat to Zoe, freshen up and wonder what on earth they’re gonna do now Jim has been captured. Zouxie fluff.

A Bit of Simple Magic - Technically before Wizards but since it has a couple mentions directly from Wizards I’m popping it here. This is shameless Zouxie fluff based on Teny’s artwork and I am HERE for it.

afterimage - An unusual one. A popular take is that certainly Skrael and Bellroc might have been human before becoming what we know them as now and this is a little bit of dabbling with young Bells who is figuring out they don’t appreciate gender nor long hair with the expectations it brings very much.

When You Least Expect - Panic attacks can happen to anybody and if Wizards had anything to say, Douxie has an awful lot of material should one be triggered.

Cantus In Memoriam - Some mercies are gifted like a blessing but to the hands that take it, it's a lie they need more than anything. The Arcane Order has lost, it’s true, but Douxie will take no joy in ending their long vigil.

alight - I may be a tiny bit biased here because there’s a reference to Ghost!AU but you know what screw it the author is great and deserves the love. Jim wants to go back to his second life, the one he thought would have been forever before he was revived into softer flesh but there is no guarantee he will be the same as he was then. Sometimes the possible comforts are worth the leap of faith it will take to get there.

Jim the Baby-Handed - Jim is home again, human and there is no getting around how things have shifted in his absence. Sometimes however, all you need to do is ask.

Stricklake

Strange Treasures - There is an aftermath to everything, even the Eternal Night and one that leaves Barbara wondering how she stands in it and particularly with regards to a certain changeling adrift himself who had once upon a time tried to kill her son.

The Only Constant - If Walter was offered the chance access his human appearance again after the Eternal Night, would he do it for her despite it would literally be walking into the unknown?

Tumblr Drabbles - He loves Barbara, he truly does, but after everything he had done to the final insult of Angor Rot coming for his own life and in turn threatening her in the process perhaps walking away is for the best. A broken heart in exchange for her life. The second one is an entirely different and is almost innocent Strickmar fluff, almost.

Alternate Universe

Another Dark Prince (Working Title) - Fate can be a strange thing sometimes. Gunmar could have escaped the Darklands far sooner but in lacking the army to go forth with his conquest is relegated to the shadows with his son and the changelings minding them whilst seeking the reopening on the Bridge for the third time. Following this thought further, perhaps a fatal accident could have led to the death of Barbara and a five year old Jim swept into the arms of a troll he would kill in another life on a promise to the deceased to keep him safe. Wouldn’t that have been a thing?

Arcane Blight - Another horror fic! There is something rather unsettling going on in Arcadia, one that contains no trolls in the conventional sense but doesn’t stop them being here, and the household the Lakes moved into seems to be treated with fear and distrust. That said there is the chance it’s more the location that’s the issue particularly with a school existing in fear of a certain ginger haired lad...

Mohs Scale - The fantastic Don't Listen to Kafka series got a new update! Sometimes you just want to help out your bestie who is going through very weird changes as his body is slowly becoming less and less human by giving him a pedicure.

Eternal Night - Gunmar was defeated at the Eternal Night but did not die, no he survived blinded and bound in chains by the mercy of the formerly human Trollhunter. Beware, even the presumed subdued still have their teeth.

Amnesia - Jim is in a blue body that cannot be quite right but he doesn’t know why, found half drowned by trolls and taking into their care. Cut off from those who might have known his old life and flung into a new strange one without his memories this boy is in for a ride while he tries to piece back together anything that makes sense.

Hope Dies Last - Nari said they would rip his soul to shreds if they caught him during her rescue from the Order’s stronghold, she spoke a very nearly fatal truth.

Fear of Fears - An AU of an AU in a sense, an alternate take of the fabulous Sunshine series and somewhat darker as the situation that starts far more innocently rapidly spirals out of control when Jim attempts to sneak out for Halloween but even then nobody could have expected the result. Heed the warnings in the tags they’re there for a reason.

Moirai - There is a danger when you take up the Skathe-Hrün that you may gain the attentions of eyes you would much rather did not and in Claire’s case, it is the notice of the assassin Angor Rot.

He lay dreaming - A follow up in a sense to the above, sometimes on rare occasions Angor by choice or not begins to dream.

The Pursuit of Stone; A Chance Meeting - Another part of the highly recommended The Heart of Janus series that has lore threads spread far and wide, a fine example both of why I adore Sam in his chaotic... Samness and another beat in the story of Otto Scaarbach’s rise to Grand Commandant in that even in the most unlikely places you may still find an ally, a future tool to be ultilised.

The OP in the very second of typing this had a sudden realisation that when the author sees this post will no doubt start laughing for. It’s for a good reason tho, promise.

-I don't know what I expected s2 to open with. but danny portal incident in more detail was not it. (also, I hate to break it to you, sam, but danny's parent's bigass ghost hunting rv def chugs more gas than those vehicles, lmao. unless it runs on ectoplasm or something...)

-WHY WAS DESIREE IN THE SEWER? HAVING TEA WITH IT DOWN THERE?? Her making the giant cow come alive is a boss move, we've almost had all of my fav animals as ghosts now <3 I also don't like how sam was expecting danny to just, haunt the place so the cars wouldn't get sold? I KNOWWW I know she's 14 (and I had a very annoying phase like this, I think I mentioned in a previous post, I GET IT) but they're HIS powers, and messing with (1) dealership will not really put a dent in sales overall because they can just move the cars to another sales lot, and it certainly wont change the industry anyway, it's more of a minor annoyance for (1) location. Also, usually people who work at car sales places work on commission, so if they dont make a sale, they don't have money to pay bills, or eat. sam baby if u wanna be an activist you need to like, actually look into these things. with as much money as her parents have, she could be doing a lot..more useful things for causes she cares about? it's frustrating to see someone with resources who doesn't know how to use them. but shes 14 so again. cannot be really upset :/

I know, he also agreed and walked into the portal. but. she made the choice to redo it SO quickly (even if it was because someone had to beat desiree) and danny, during their fight, brought up a lot of stuff sam's done in the past, meaning he was holding onto those memories and resentment was building. (I KEEP SAYING HE LOWKEY NEEDS THERAPY, BUT I THINK MOST EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW KINDA DOES) which...is a red flag? and then they didnt even GO to the party URGH I know she tried to make up for it, but it really felt like Sam fucked up and barely faced any consequences and got everything she wanted in the end. I KNOW it's a kids show obv they aren't going to go too in depth, and she undid the damage, kinda, but...I DUNNO how to articulate it but it rubbed me the wrong way.

I know they always have horrible side effects as most genie-granted wishes do, but...c'mon, I'd at least TRY to be like 'I wish no ghosts would hurt anyone in my town' or 'I wish vlad would lose his ghost powers forever no matter What and also forget about my mom' LIKE. SHIT DESIREE IS SO POWERFUL. rewriting reality powerful, basically!! appreciate her. respect her.

-aww, sam helping tucker pass the nurse's office so he wouldn't see because he's afraid of medical stuff? very sweet. I also don't like medical stuff, I've gotten a lot better at handling it tho. but seeing blood and needles still makes me feel lightheaded x_x

I want to make my own perfume, that's so cool. even if his first attempt isn't good, he's pretty consistently shown to have an inventor/entrepreneur streak in the show, so like. I can see him inventing or making something (or several somethings) that make him $$$ when he grows up :) proud of my creative son

-I know the 'creepy abandoned hospital on the edge of town' is a joke and the creepy hospital trope is so Worn Out, but in my town we actually DO have a hospital like that! my dad was born in it, but its not in use and hasn't been for, like, 20 years! it needs to be torn down but I think the city doesn't wanna pay the money. the inside is horrible, spray painted and broken glass and shit everywhere. but there's still like, rusty equipment and fucking DOLLS all over the place. the cops drive by it pretty frequently to make sure no one is like, breaking in. (because of water damage, some of the areas really aren't safe. also, asbestos, but people still go in anyway) but also, some of my town was used in a filming for a stephen king show. So it's lowkey spooky all over. just a fun personal tidbit :) to lead into saying, any hospital abandoned for any period of time is NOT safe to quarantine these kids in JKSAHDKF like I KNOW it's a ghost trying to do this, but NONE of these parents are even like, 'well, why dont we keep them in the regular, working hospital'....YIKES. this hospital looks pretty accurate to the one in town. grungy and spooky.

-it feels like a while since we've seen jazz!! i was happy to see her again, even if she was a head in a jar for most the episode. I want another jazz-focused ep!!

-we finally see danny doing space-related stuff!! him and his friends stargazing to open ep 3 of s2. cute :) until, GHOST PIRATES!!!!! ...ghost pirate captain is a small child?? VOICED BY TAYLOR LAUTNER???

-oh, the easy listening is ember's song instrumental slowed. -danny taking control of the kids SO FAST. he makes a pretty great leader. no one is surprised, im pretty sure I said I think he's the most mature of the trio, once again, correct, because he's taken on so much responsibility already. all the teens suiting up in the jumpsuits to go save the adults and taking the ship over with a BLIMP. OKAY LETS GO. this feels like it should be a mid finale or straight up finale.

-...speaking of finales. why is ep 4-5 of s2 combined into a 50 minute episode? I havent even clicked play and im concerned. weird placement, like, this season JUST started and we're getting a two parter? okay...why are the episodes placed like this? why not put this at episode 10 or something, for a mid-season thing?

Without a doubt, Mammon is devastated to hear that you feel the same about him but won’t be with him. It’s like he has what he wants right in front of him, but he can never seem to grab a hold of it. 

Still, Mammon will love you anyways. You’ll always be his #1 even if he isn’t yours one day. He continues to find more ways to enjoy the time you spend together and tries his best to be happy when you are. Even when you return to the human realm, he involves himself in your life. He spends a LOT of time trying to visit you and be by your side as much as he can. Your friends and family eventually even know that he’s evidently protective over you and still cares deeply for your wellbeing. He has no shame in calling himself your best friend, settling for being ‘second’ in your life. It gets hard for him when he sees you get together with someone else and has to take a break from seeing you-- but he never stops seeing you for long. He’s your best friend for life.

Leviathan

Levi immediately feels a flare of envy, as befitting of his title as Avatar of Envy. He’s not angry, not really, but it does hurt him to think that he cannot be with you simply because of who he is. He’s probably already had doubt that he was ever deserving of you, and this only seems to prove it right-- even though he knows deep down that it’s not that at all. 

He ends up distancing himself from you for a long time because he can’t find it in him to be happy for you when you find someone else to love, and he doesn’t need you to see this side of him, even though his feelings are valid. He wants to be happy for you, and he eventually does because in the end, he does love you, but you were his first best friend, first love-- and it’s hard to let you go. When he does come around, he’s extremely apologetic and does his best to make up for his absence by being there for you as your closest friend and supporting you wherever you may need him.

Satan

Satan is angry. Not at you, but at the situation. He has a good filter, but that doesn’t mean he can control himself from venting his frustrations when you reject him initially. It hurts to think initially that maybe you don’t want to try being with him, but he’s quick to understand that it goes beyond compatibility and more about the aftermath when the relationship inevitably ends with your death. 

If anything, this makes him angrier. He already has had problems with his birthright that you helped him resolve, but the insecurities and resentment comes back full force. What’s the point of living forever if it’s exactly what’s stopping him from being with you? He tries to find a solution so you can live forever (knowing this is probably not what you want) or finding a way to be a mortal, but eventually he has to stop when you fall for someone else. This love for you will certainly make him more cynical for a period of time, a little more bitter at the circumstances that life has given him, but he will realize that the time you have spent with him and the time that you can still spend with him as friends is something that he can still appreciate. He comes to understand the value of time, continuing to love and support you even if he cannot be the one you look to first.

Asmodeus

When Asmo is in love, he loves deeply. To have you reject him because you want to be able to grow old with someone else shatters his heart. Emotionally intelligent as he is, heartbreak is a novel feeling, and Asmo does not handle it as well as he wishes he did.

Initial reaction is anger-- why don’t you love him enough to be with him?-- and the conversation ends up with a big fight that distances the two of you for a while. He feels like he wants to lash out at everything and everyone because he’s so frustrated that the one person he’s in love with is precisely the person he cannot be with. However, Asmo does come to terms after days of self-reflection and rumination that perhaps this decision was for the best of both of them. Asmo makes up with you (if you are willing) and firmly supports you in everything you do. He is still a little raw from the heartbreak, but it gets better as time passes and the heartache dulls. When you find someone else you fall in love with, he slowly accepts being more on the side-lines but he’s never more than a call away! He may not be in love with you, but he will never not love you. (You were his first love and that’s something he can’t forget.)

Beelzebub

Beel doesn’t know what to say at first. He’s sad, of course-- he genuinely wants to be able to be with you, but hearing your explanation makes a lot of sense. He takes this with resigned acceptance, but struggles to come to terms with the feelings that come with this situation. He wants desperately to be okay with this decision, to be happy with whatever choice you make, but he cannot-- not yet, at least-- and it churns his insides. 

It takes a lot of venting with Belphie and advice seeking with Lucifer for Beel to make peace with his conflicting emotions-- and if he needs to talk to you as well for closure, then he may do that as well. You just need to give him time to get to his equilibrium because this affected him more than he would ever let you know. As Beel has always been the ‘protector’ of the family, he’s comfortable being on the side-lines to support you. He always looks forward to seeing you and talking to you, but for the most part, he lets you live your own life. In a way, he’s letting you go, because even if he can’t have you, he wants you to be happy anyways-- and he knows that he feels that from the bottom of his heart.

Belphegor

The strongest emotion that Belphie feels when you tell him is disappointment. He hoped that the two of you would be able to work it out together, considering all that you’ve been able to go through together before. But at the same time, he understands-- possibly more than any of his brothers how fleeting and finite the life of a mortal is after spending a large part of his life in love with who humans are. 

He carefully slots into your life as just your friend, calling you once in awhile just to catch up, flitting in and out of your life whenever he can. He wants to be a part of your life, but he respectfully does not want to dominate your every waking moment. When you find the person you love and live your life with them, he watches over you almost like a guardian angel, content that you’re happy. It’s what you deserve-- and he refuses to interfere with that, even though it does sometimes hurt to think that that could have been him by your side and waking up to you every morning. He pines for you, and he’ll never let you know he’s still very much in love with you.
