Land and Sea #24 “Sunflower I”; 48 x 48 inches, oil on canvas. The sunflowers I grow are by happenstance. The squirrels and crows dig through my bird feeders dropping sunflower seeds as the rat; not allowing smaller birds a chance. From this sunflowers begin to pop up. It’s always amazing to see the black seeds form in the center. I almost never harvest them because the birds are good at picking through the center of the flower pulling the seed up. SSGE (Segregação Social Geograficamente Escancarada) . Pigmento em pó com verniz acrílico e acrílica sobre tela 120 x 80 cm. 2023 . Sobre SSGE: Trabalho pensado a partir da real indignação, com o fato da desigualdade nítida, a qual divide a população, não ser combatida com métodos eficazes por parte do poder público. Grande parte da população pobre que vive nas piores condições, reside nas periferias, ou seja, a segregação social, automaticamente é um fator geográfico na maioria dos casos. Ao invés de escrever muitas coisas sobre a segregação social, optou-se por desenhar/pintar, com intuito de deixar ainda mais claro, algo que é tão vísivel diante dos olhos da população, e inclusive, muito prejudicial para aqueles que realmente sentem na pele as reais consequências, justamente por viverem diariamente nas piores condições. O trabalho artístico e autoral, é definido na minha concepção, como algo escancarado, pelo estilo da linguagem gráfica. Sendo também, uma ferramenta que denuncia com poucas palavras, fortalecendo a ideia de que, mesmo sem saber ler, é possível analisar o triste cenário atual e fazer algo em prol de melhorias.
