Just curious but I don't get why DC fans hate Tom Taylor's guts.
He seems like a sweet guy and I found his work on Nightwing and Superman: Son Of Kal-El to be fantastic. And, no. I refuse to believe he "secretly co-wrote" the hated Ric Grayson storyline or the controversial Superman Unity Saga (where Jon Kent is aged up).
I just don't get it.
if ur sincerely refusing to engage with the documented, legitimate criticism with taylors work that is easy to find online if u decide to look for it then i canā€™t help u babydoll

I know you just had top surgery ļæ¼- how was it? How was the healing process? Iā€™m scared to death of surgery but I desperately need these off
HI NYX!!! ok im gonna try and be as brief and concise as possible because theres honestly quite a lot i could talk about but! heres some thoughts under the cut
so honestly as someone who has had a few surgeries in the past for other medical issues - this ranked VERY low on the pain scale. maybe a 4/10 tops at its worst (although i do understand everyone is different). the surgeon kept telling me "many people do not find this operation particularly painful" and i did not believe him one bit until afterwards. i had prescription pain medicne and antibiotics to take, but honestly i only needed the prescription medicine for about 3 days, and then after that i was fine with tylenol. after a week really i didnt need to take anything consistently, it was here or there if i happened to start moving around too much.
the worst part for me overall was the BANDAGES. after you wake up youre gonna be wrapped within an inch if your life with ike 2 inches of gauze and tape and an ace wrap holding it all together. if you have drains (which i did) you can't shower until they're out and the bandages come off, anywhere from 5 to 7 days usually. mine was 7 days and i was miserable. the drain emptying wasnt that bad tbh, someone helped me the first 2 times and then i was able to do it myself afterwards. if youre bad with blood or bodily fluids then youll def need someone to help you there. the drain removal process, to be completely honest, was. also bad. it lasted maybe five seconds per drain but i didnt breathe right like they told me to and had a vasovagal reaction and passed out. i dont say this to dissuade you! but it was not pleasant
the main thing probably is gonna be stiffness and soreness. you literally won't be able to do anything with your arms for at least a few days - its bordering on 2 weeks for me and im just now able to pull a shirt over my head without stiffness. you DEFINITELY will need someone to help you with basic tasks those first few days, getting food, getting dressed, etc. some ppl get bruising on their chest just from the skin being manipulated and etc but surprisingly i havent had any bruising yet?
also!! again some places differ, but mine was a same day surgery. after a few hours of waking up i was able to be bundled into the car back to the hotel. youre gonna be really groggy but i was able to walk just fine, albeit very slowly with help. the surgery itself was the blink of an eye to me. i remember them putting an o2 mask over my face and then i was OUT. seconds later i was being dragged up out of unconscious well by the nurse's voice.
ill say too, i 100% understand the nervousness and fear. the 2 weeks leading up to the surgery were like. awful andnsnjf. i was so anxious and terrified of the pain only to find it genuinely was not that bad at all. you know the this too shall pass lighter i have. i slept with that clutched in my hand the entire night before surgery. it was very much a "do it scared" situation and having those things of comfort and reassurance whatever they are to you can help immensely. and i did do it! and the relief i felt a week after when i finally got to see made literally all of it worth it. theres still healing to go (i took a month off work also) but im taking it very slowly and trying not to rush enjoyment of this body c: most of the healing process has been letting the body do its natural work and being patient with it, a thing i am usually not. i still have to dress the area for another 2 weeks maybe, but then i can start scar care!!!

I saw this amazing idea from another fandom that could be used to keep Desmond alive: his ghost possessing his own body. Not only that but whenever ghost! Desmond gets out of his body it becomes zombie! Desmond so there's two Desmond's sharing a body while trying to live(heh) in the modern time.
Oohhh, this sounds interesting.
Does this mean that Desmondā€™s body starts to decompose when heā€™s not in his body?
Or would that be too much and weā€™ll just let zombie!Desmond act as a usual zombie, looking for ā€˜foodā€™.
Now, there should be a reason why Desmond would willingly (or unwillingly) stay out of his body. It could be that there is a limitation placed on the possession itself and Desmond could only stay for around half a day and the other half has to be him floating around as a ghost. He learns of this because the first time he returned to his body, he tried to stay there as long as he could and heā€™s just yanked out of the body after exactly 12 hours.
Of course, the first time this happens, he was still imprisoned in an Abstergo facility andā€¦ wellā€¦ zombie!Desmond definitely had a lot of preys to eat then.
ā€¦ does this mean that Desmond could accidentally start a zombie apocalypse.
Thankfully, the moment zombie!Desmond started attacking people, the entire facility went on lockdown and dropped heavy roll up covers for all entrances and exits, including windows.
This did mean that everyone is stuck inside with a growing zombie horde courtesy of zombie!Desmond.
And ghost!Desmond is just floating nearby, freaking out because he knows how this is played.
He does not want to be patient zero!
He tries to get back to zombie!Desmond but heā€™s pulled away each time, only able to take control for maybe 3 to 5 minutes.
Untilā€¦
12 hours passed and Desmond finally takes control.
As every single zombie turned to face him.
Because he no longer registers as one of them.
No.
He registered as ā€˜preyā€™.
And Desmond slips out of his body voluntarily this time, letting zombie!Desmond take control before the other zombies attack him.
And nowā€¦
He has to think of a wayā€¦
To kill every zombies here in approximately 12 hoursā€¦ without the zombies attacking him and before Abstergo remotely opens the roll up covers to find out what has happened.
.
Berg and Sigma team enters the building from above later on.
They had lost contact with the facility 25 hours ago, the last transmission they received was an automatic message from the facilityā€™s security system summarizing that the lockdown was due to an unknown highly volatile virus of unknown origins.
The security system cut off all connection to the outside world per protocol (a protocol that become the norm after an unknown hacker that has no connection to Erudito hacked a different facility and used the connection to send out different viruses to other facilities, many classified information were destroyed during the attack, including data about known Isus and Sages). Protocol states they wait 24 hours for any communications from the people in the facility or the security system before trying to breach the facility.
There was nothing.
And when they got thereā€¦
The security system had been destroyed together with all the recordings in the facility and its own black box.
And the entire placeā€¦
ā€¦ was nothing more than a place of death.
No one survived.
There were signs that they had killed one another.
No.
They tried to eat each other.
Was thisā€¦
The ā€˜virusā€™ that the security system had pinged?
They could not be sure.
All they knew wasā€¦
The underground parking lotā€™s cover was not locked.
A person could lift it up and slip out before it fell back down.
So they had to make sureā€¦
ā€¦ to account for every single person.
Because if this was a real virus that can do such a thingā€¦
They were looking for a potential carrier.
ā€œSir. Sofia Rikkin is in line 1.ā€
Berg nodded at the man to his right before he clicked a button on the portable radio connected to his earpiece, ā€œThis is Berg.ā€
ā€œIs this right, Berg? You counted 80 bodies?ā€
That did not sound good. Sofia Rikkin was usually calm and a bit cold but she sounded like she was ready to tear Bergā€™s throat out if he said the wrong thing.
ā€œWeā€™re recounting the bodies but, yes. Our initial and second counting both-ā€
ā€œThere should be 81 bodies, Berg.ā€
Berg looked at the tablet in his other hand, ā€œThe list of personnel in this facility when it went on lockdown says eigh-ā€
ā€œBecause itā€™s not a personnel.ā€
He really wished sheā€™d stop cutting him off.
But it was more important to hear what she was saying right now.
ā€œBerg. The 81st body is the 2nd attempt to create an Isu body. A lot of data were destroyed during the attack years back so we used Sample 17 to plug the missing links.ā€
ā€œAre you saying the possibly missing 81st body is Desmond Miles?ā€
ā€œā€¦ possibly. Find that body, Berg. There havenā€™t been any tests done to that body yet so we donā€™t know what it can do. For all we knowā€¦ā€
ā€œā€¦ it could be the original carrier of this unknown virus.ā€

okay girl I don't even know what you're on because recent johan liebert fans have been spoiled with the gift of actually having so much to read in the johan liebert x reader tags. Before you I swear to god everything was SO DRY AND EMPTY. We have talented authors and fics of course which we eat up in seconds, but its so few and far between that it feels like a dead fandom sometimes. The second you came in it feels like a dam of water exploding over a dessert.

I saw from a post about how many asks you have and I was wondering why not just answer one ask then use that as your daily post? (I'm pretty sure you post daily from my memory)
I'm not a writer so apologies if I sound a bit rude or oblivious. But I think you don't do that because it might get tiring to write an in-character response each day.
I'm actually an Insane Person and ideally would be posting hourly/bi-hourly, if only I ever found enough content to queue up in such a manner,,
But, basically the delays can be summed up in three parts: tired or busy (lumping these together as one problem), no idea how to respond just yet (or respond in a way that satisfies me,) or I have ideas but they're art based and take more time.
I do have some wips for some art answers saved I think, but I've got, like, a single commission remaining on my docket and I refuse to let myself do other art until it's finished (barring one sketch I did for the sake of my sanity.... I cannot stress enough how much of a fight it is to get myself to do full shading and backgrounds šŸ’€ mistakes were made.)
Now, admittedly, it's been a minute since I took a crack at writing out some more thoughtful or lengthy responses for some of the asks I've gotten- so far as I recall, at least- but the dissatisfaction problem is Extremely Real. No joke, I've had an ask sitting in my queue for several months now because I was like "yeah this is good enough," queued it, and then just before it could post I was overcome with an Intense distaste for it. I really liked the question and thought I could do better. (And still clearly have not done better....) Writing Kim honestly comes really naturally to me, and I could never really get tired of it, but sometimes an ask throws a curveball at me in a way that I just really cannot quite wrap my head around responding to. Other times, I get asks that I just can't let myself answer in a subpar manner- either the ask itself or the implications of the answer I concoct end up mattering too much to me, so I get super in my head about finalizing the reply.
And then me being tired is just a skill issue. (I'm joking; this only applies to like the last month or so, but I actually started taking some new medications recently that have been messing with me just a little in this respect. Sometimes I get tired, and when they DO give me the pep to do things, I've admittedly been trying to direct that energy into getting my life together lol)
#i really have just kinda been busy lately. doctors appointments- my roommate moving out- SO. MANY. BIRTHDAYS-#so that's also a factor in things. im kinda floundering over here... drowning in an endless sea of shit I need to do to get my affairs in +#+order...#also i am like. an adult. so i have a life that HAS to be tended to in some respects. just kinda tacking that on bc ik some people forget +#+I'm 24. I'm not busy in the way most people my age are but I DO have things I need to do/be doing. (which unfortunately may eventually +#+lead to me being busy in the same way most people my age are. life's a bitch like that. hopefully it wont be an issue though]#i literally overthink everything and it is a Problem. look at how much rambling you're getting just here. insane#i need to go to bed i think im forcing myself to let this be the answer i have for you šŸ’€ if you have further questions i can answer later#asks#anon#ooc#txt#actually just one more little thing. the kim rp/ask blog aspect of this blog was also very much an outlet for me as i was dealing with +#+some really frustrating things in my personal life. I'm still dealing with those things but on a smaller scale now? and I'm also no +#+longer locked into this being my ONLY coping method for it. lately I've been getting back into playing whatever games i feel like- it's +#+been very freeing. in a single session I've apparently gotten 12% of the way through rdr2's story! something i very much wouldn't have +#+felt like I was ALLOWED to do prior to now#(also if this post contains any contradictions. i am a very conflicted and contradictory person. hope that helps šŸ‘)

Hello šŸ‘‹
I hope you don't mind me asking but what is the difference between a Buddha and a Bodhisattva?
Hello!
Okay, so while keeping in mind that I'm a very raw beginner in understanding Buddhism and that this certainly doesn't involve everything these terms mean, a good working definition seems to be that a bodhisattva is an awakened being who has absolute sympathy for humanity and has devoted themselves both to helping humanity and to the goal of complete enlightenment, i.e. resolved to become a buddha, and a buddha is one who has achieved enlightenment.
That said, it should also be kept in mind that the Buddha is the holy name of Siddartha Guatama after he achieved enlightenment--he was in fact the first person to do so--and that he has a perfect understanding on the nature of things and acts as a mentor to help sentient beings learn how to relieve themselves from suffering and the cycle of reincarnation. There does also seem to be a tradition that says that the Buddha is the enlightened human, and while all humans are the non-Buddha, all sentient creatures have a Buddha nature and contain the potential of becoming the Buddha. Bodhisattvas furthermore also often seem to be understood as beings that have already achieved enlightenment, but then return to help humans. The bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, who would later become the goddess of mercy Guanyin, is a good example of this.

Hi! Just curious! When does Act 1 end and Act 2 begin? I understand that things may shift during the writing process so you donā€™t have to answer. I was wondering if there is an estimate as to what episode the acts end/begin. Thank you for your time!
From the FAQ:
Wayfarer is divided into a prologue, an epilogue, and four acts containing 15 episodes.
Prologue
Act 1:Ā Episodes 1-3
Act 2:Ā Episodes 4-8
Act 3:Ā Episodes 9-12
Act 4:Ā Episodes 13-15
Epilogue

Finally rewatching some doctor who, and the episode 'midnight' is such a different experience now what the fuck.
Spent the first half of the episode like "wait the doctor IS being reasonable this is an undiscovered lifeform its just trying to learn things its not its fault people think its creepy </3" and also "this is a bit more contrived than I remember. Why are all these tourists down for Murder after 20 minutes of someone repeating what they say." But of course the episode is having so much fun with itself that I'm having fun too <3
Anyway my crack theory is that the midnight creature is post-finale bill, due to the line, while possessing someone, of "I can move, I can feel again, I'm coming back to life" and all the really obvious evil little smiles
#godsrambles#hm maybe i will make a tag for this#drwho tag#cant believe thinking deeply about bills character has affected even this#even though the episode heavily implies the midnight creature is evil. im STILL like.#'augh thats a Creature! its probably been completely alone for who knows how long! it Sprinted towards the first people it saw!'#'maybe it Was just learning and it only became 'evil' because it learned from murderous tourists!'#'and even if it IS evil doesnt it deserve a chance? if the doctor couldve contained it safely..... take it to eldritch rehab............'#of course theres the line 'i can feel again' which implies it is NOT a brand new creature. insane about the 1 sec of lore#for a 1 episode creature we will never see ever again. who were they..........#i dont want dr who to answer that question its just fun to wonder about#how does a creature get trapped on an inhospitable planet for who knows how long..... do 'xtonic rays' destroy bodies but not souls???#someone exposed to the stars light and lost almost everything. just a shell of their former self. no body no thoughts just a shadow#idk!!!!! comparing this random 1 episode Creature-Meant-To-Be-Spooky to bill. i guess. it just hits different now#as a kid i thought 'wow the doctor shouldnt give it the benefit of the doubt its obviously evil'#but now i get it!!! the doctor has seen so much evil and Done so much evil. cant dismiss a creature just for being suspicious#reaching out to try and save someone else who he can only imagine has been so so terribly alone for way too long. augh#and this is season 4 so like. after everything in the s3 finale. one million yard stares into the distance.#ok one more thing. bill finds this creature and invites it to be a henchmaniac. that is all

LIAR YOU TOTALLY WATCHED ONE SEQUEL!!! šŸ˜‰šŸ’œ
https://www.tumblr.com/wellhalesbells/736050291745652736/friendraichu-jackironsides
HAHAHAHA, I should clarify that I just mean for super hero-y ones. I mostly watch the first one and rarely watch the second (or anything after...... or remakes, lol), I think the only Marvel one I've seen in recent history is Thor: Ragnarok. Actually, the Spider-man franchise pretty much encapsulates how I interact with Marvel properties: I saw the first trilogy because it was new and exciting at the time, then they remade it too fast and I refused to pay for something I just saw, that was so recent in my memory from the release date I could still remember exact scenes from it (THERE WERE ONLY FIVE YEARS BETWEEN SPIDER-MAN 3 AND THE REBOOT - THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR ME TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN. HOW IS THAT ENOUGH TIME FOR ANYONE TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN???), then I watched the first Tom Holland one (fourteen years I can vibe with) and nothing that followed because that's generally when the gimmicks and cameos start in lieu of good story-telling, or they make it dark and gritty because that's the only way to ground this superhuman, right (I assume a random white guy: "Should we fridge a lady? Yeah, we should probably fridge a lady"). The first one generally at least tries to have a soul because they have to introduce the character and make you care about them but many of the ones that follow (the few I've seen from when the MCU was just starting out and I had hope *coughs*Iron Man 2, Thor 2, etc.*coughs*) are just cash grabs that don't try because you already love this character and there they are, right there, so money please!
Meg 2 however..... EPIC, NO NOTES. It knows if I was a shark girl, I was probably a dinosaur girl and it gambled correctly. That's what you're watching this for? Have three sharks and an unnecessary (probably stupid expensive) dinosaur intro that is nearly completely irrelevant to the story but that you will also not want to live without and for an extra special bonus: oblivious husbands and their brilliant daughter. Like. You got me nailed, my dude. Will watch every subsequent sequel, no questions asked.
#i do understand that spider-man is a bullshit studio thing#and that it's a marvel property that belongs to sony and i implied everything is under the mcu umbrella#(and i honestly don't fault them for remaking it. instead i just don't understand how there was an audience for it???)#but they're all guilty of the same shit for different but also EXACTLY THE SAME reasons#they want to fleece money from me. because that's how it feels: like i'm being swindled#they're not earning my money through good content but instead through brand recognition and shared cultural touchstones#YOU CAN'T HAVE MY MONEY MOUSE#sony you can when it's miles (that is a sequel i DID watch and that DID have a soul imo) :))))#something similar (cash grabs) are pretty much the exact reason i stopped reading marvel comics too#capitalism ruins everything#for a moral everyone knows *snorts*#also generally the sequels have bigger budgets and just to quote freckle...... sometimes things that are expensive are worse#great things sometimes come from people having to work within constraints and when you aren't given any....... terrible things can happen#like bbc sherlock lolol. AHEM#basically if i watch a sequel now it has to be a character i am VERY invested in so i'm willing to be burned - deadpool or miles#or it has to break containment from people who will go see anything with a marvel sticker on it to people who..... won't#and still recommend it - like ragnarok#(i wonder if NOT going the dark gritty route and instead having a fun story with a conflict that wasn't dependent on outdoing every#other conflict that came before it in this whole universe had aNYTHING to do with its success. hrm. it's a mystery!)#normally i would answer this privately but i had to explain about the sony thing so you would know i KNEW about the sony thing and then....#tag explosion and now it has to be public and i'm sorry i went on a mouse rant. I HATE THE MONOPOLY MOUSE I JUST DO.#IT'S BAD AND IT MAKES BAD LAZY THINGS THAT KILL CREATIVITY (AND NOW ALSO FUNDS GENOCIDE SO)#!ask

Hi! Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't find transcripts for the Bridgewater podcast. Do those not exist? Or am I just not looking in the right place
hey! this isn't a stupid question at all - as far as I know, there aren't currently transcripts available on the Bridgewater website and there aren't plans to provide them. it's something I've suggested to the team in the past and will ask about again, but unfortunately different companies have different policies and I don't personally control what content gets put out there!
bridgies, does anyone know of any fanmade transcripts that exist out there?

show us your epic kadija characterisation ^-^
WAUGGHG HI ALINA <3333 THANK U <33333333
List of Kadija Characterization Moments book 1
Kadija gives Mortimer her personal hunting knife shortly after meeting him. Without knowing his name or who he is, she recognizes distress and wants to help.
She works on the City of Gears' namesake vast gear system for free. She has been offered a job many times, but does not want to draw the Lovely Prince's inquiries by accepting.
Kadija's first thought of Daciana is that she is the most beautiful person Kadija has ever seen.
She spends a large part of the book claiming she wants the Lovely Prince dead, when she initially only wants to prevent the other three from killing him.
Kadija sits with Mortimer for breakfast every morning, and again for tea every evening. He does not want her or anyone else to do this, and that's precisely why she does it.
Kadija stops reporting the deathbringers crew's location, movements, and plans to Inquisitor Benedek after she finds out about Mortimer's tether to the Lovely Prince.
She builds Teddy (her bear automaton) on the moving train; it is her "busywork" for when she cannot stand sitting still and waiting to arrive at their next destination.
Kadija's first technical kill happens as a split second decision, though it is one of her automatons that commits the act.
She returns to a dangerous situation to try and help Vanda Cel Tradat, who is actively trying to kill her.
It is Kadija who tricks Vidar into confessing his motives and identity. As Vidar cannot lie and Kadija can, there is a long pvp between them leading up to this.
Kadija does maintenance on her prosthetic hand as they travel, eventually perfecting the individual fingers so that each digit may move on its own.
Kadija delivers the killing blow to the Lovely Prince with the broken shaft of Mortimer's cane.
Bonus trivia!
The only things Kadija has left from her biological father are his collection of compasses and the music box he carved for her as a baby.
Kadija has nothing left of her biological mother at all, except for an enormous crack in her front door left by an axe impact.
Her friends prior to knowing the deathbringers crew are Shani Towerward (25), the university's valedictorian and a geologist; Ylva Nectaria (70), the youngest vampiric daughter of House Nectaria and aspiring globetrotter; Feivel Bainesman (42), an extremely awkward engineer for the City of Gears; and Zalika Kilomo (29), a rising star actress based in the Luminous Hall.

it is sooo so crazy that the western european musical shift into modernism was controversial. my mans tchaikovsky pulls out one (1) Dissonance and is immediately debasing the romantic era. and then my mans rachmaninoff pulls out romantic chord progressions in the 20th century and is a traitor to modernism ("mired in pre-revolution russia"). sometimes classical music critique seems so inane and pointless but then i remember how absoLUTELY tied to politics everything about classicism to modernism was and it is honestly hilarious. until you think about the fact that chord progressions themselves are literally, actually, genuinely political! it's funny that minor seconds were, like, Treasonous, but also russia cared deeply about its musical presentation and style in relation to patriotism, as did (it seems) most other highly rule-bound western countries. the girls have drama
