LA's rising black metal star returns with another stellar offering

Lamp of Murmuur does not seem to stop evolving and growing in their tapestry of albums, with the most recent release being a much more refined and well produced album. We can hear the complexity of influences that has culminated here, with clean guitars retaining that post-punk flavour and the more raw unrefined elements dropped. The same murky vocals that we’ve come to know are still retained but the drums shine over all and every so often we hear the radiance of synthesisers and choirs. For certain, this is a masterwork by Lamp of Murmuur and without a doubt in my mind will be one of those albums that future musicians in black metal will look back to.
