just a wholesome little rk1k scene i wrote heavily inspired by this comic by @autiacorart
“Markus, are you okay?”
The deviant leader was lying across a pile of blankets unmoving. His gaze was locked on the open night sky, but he turned his head at the sound of Connor's voice. The brunette was a dark silhouette standing in the rooftop terrace's doorway. His face in shadow against he dim light coming from inside New Jericho. Wordlessly, Markus patted the space next to him.
Curiously, Connor approached and sat next to him. He tilted his head towards the other looking expectantly at him.
“Lay down,” Markus said. “I’m stargazing.”
“Stargazing?” Connor gingerly let himself fall onto his back and peered up.
Detroit was left half-abandoned in the wake of the Android Revolution. Since most of the humans had evacuated, there were virtually no city lights. With minimal light pollution, the glittering stars jumped out against the infinite abyss. The milky way stretched across the sky decorated by glittering lights. It was a medley of blues and purples punctuated by shimmering white specks.
“I’ve never looked up at the stars before," Connor said softly as if speaking too loudly may somehow interrupt the sight sprawling above him.
“It can take years for the light of a star to reach us. When a star dies, its light will still keep traveling to Earth for years after,” Markus murmured. “I’ve always found it kind of sad. That they could die and no one would ever notice.” He stared pensively at the sky feeling small and inconsequential.
Connor pondered that in silence before finally responding. “I suppose that’s one way to look at it. But it's nice that we can appreciate the light of a star for many years, even after its death."
“I never thought of it that way,” Markus thought wistfully. “It’s kind of comforting.” Markus had often thought that even with the impact he had now, if he had ever died someone would take his place. He knew his role was important, but he assumed that he wasn’t important. Someone could easily take up his mantle. He had to believe that; otherwise, the revolution wouldn't survive. And it had to survive whether he was there or not. But deep down, he wanted to be remembered. And he worried he wouldn’t be in the grand scheme of things. That he would just fade away without anyone noticing. But maybe that was wrong. Maybe his legacy would live on, just like the light of a dying star.
"It's beautiful," Connor whispered scanning the sky, committing it to memory.
Markus turned his head to look at Connor. In the dark night, his blue LED was like a calm beacon. Connor's features were barely distinguishable, but Markus traced the shapes of his face with his eyes. The peak of his lips, the tip of his nose, the dip to his browbone. And his eyes. His brown iris only a thin ring around a dilated pupil. They reflected a cosmos of stars.
“It really is beautiful…” Markus whispered back.
Markus’ voice drifted directly into Connor's ear, and he turned his head to meet his gaze. Android faces didn’t show signs of tiredness or fatigue in the traditional human ways, but they were still detectable. Namely through facial tension. And for once, Markus looked relaxed. His stress levels were at the lowest Connor's ever seen them.
The corner of Connor’s mouth quirked up into a gentle half smile. “You should stargaze more often. You seemed relaxed for once.”
Markus let out a huff of laughter as he resumed looking up at the sky. "I'll stargaze more if I have good company."
“I'm sure that can be arranged,” Connor answered as he too resumed looking up at the sky.
Slowly, Markus’ hand intertwined with Connor's causing the latter to tense at the contact. The former deviant hunter hadn’t interfaced with anyone since the night he woke up the AP700s at Cyberlife Tower. And he didn’t want to. He was afraid of what the other person would see in a mutual interface. He didn’t want Markus to see him.
But Markus didn’t try to interface. His synthskin remained in place, and he just held Connor's hand in a firm but comfortable hold. After a few seconds, Connor relaxed. As they continued to stargaze together, he realized how comforting holding hands was. It made him feel secure and grounded. Like he wasn’t alone. It felt nice. Androids didn’t need physical touch, but maybe deviants did.
The rooftop door swung up. “Markus—”
Markus immediately sat up pulling his hand away from Connor’s. “Y-yes North?”
North stood in the doorway. Her eyes flickering between the two deviants. Markus looked... flustered? She raised her eyebrow and leaned against the doorframe with arms crossed. “Sorry to interrupt, I was just checking to make sure Markus knew it was his bedtime,” she teased.
Connor finally sat up a bit confused why Markus had pulled away from him so suddenly. He looked at Markus. “You have a bedtime?”
Markus grimaced. “It’s a joke. She’s just making sure I go into stasis regularly. Prevents me from overworking.”
Connor studied him and his voice resumed the slightly stilted cadence and affect he tended to use as default. “I think that’s a good idea. Your stress levels spiked just now, so it would be a good time to get some rest."
Connor stood. “I also wanted to check up on Markus before I left. Is there anything you need from me before I go?”
Markus quickly stood up. “Uh, no. I’ll let you know if I think of anything.”
“Got it. I’ll head back to Hank’s now so you can go into stasis.” Connor turned to leave.
“Connor, wait."
He turned towards Markus again. His head tilted.
Markus tried to ignore North’s stare and focused his attention on Connor. “Do you want to stargaze again tomorrow?”
Connor’s LED spun yellow for a few seconds as he processed that. “No.”
That hurts. Markus managed to keep his face neutral despite the rejection.
“It’s going to be cloudy tomorrow night. It would not be optimal for stargazing,” Connor continued. “However, next Friday there is supposed to be a meteor shower and clear skies which would be a more appropriate time to stargaze.”
Oh, that doesn’t hurt. Markus beamed. “Yeah, that sounds like a perfect time. It’s a date.”
“A date?”
“I meant that’s the date. The date we’ll stargaze again," Markus replied hastily. North snorted holding in a laugh.
“Okay, I will ensure to keep that night free,” Connor confirmed as he set a notification on his internal calendar. He turned to each android. “Good night, Markus. Good night, North.”
“Good night, Connor,” the other two responded in unison as he headed down the stairwell. As the door closed and the sounds of his footsteps faded, North turned to Markus with a smug grin.
“You’re not gonna walk your date home?” North teased.
“Shut up," Markus retorted. He began folding up the blankets they had been lying on.
“What were you two flirts doing up here anyway?”
“Stargazing.”
“Nothing else?”
“Just stargazing,” he said more firmly.
-end scene-
hope you liked it!! this is just a little scene i was planning to incorporate into a larger fic, but i figured i'd post it somewhere since it will literally take me forever to get to this particular scene based on the plan i have for my wip
BONUS SCENE:
-the night of the meteor shower-
Connor: Markus, I'm here. ^_^
Markus: Connor, it’s good to—
Connor: I brought Hank and Sumo so we can all enjoy the meteor shower together. You should make sure North and Josh get up here before it starts.
Markus: Oh yeah, of course. :’)
North: *shows up and laughs her ass off*
Connor: Is North okay?
Markus: Everything is fine. :’)

Ink demonth 2022 - Shift
How, and especially when, did he manage to experiment with ink and with the machine?
Chapter 12: 1940 - 1959
"What are you still doing here, Miss Pendle? I thought the recordings were over."
The young woman, who had turned around when she heard her name, smiled at him.
"Good evening Mr. Drew. Yes, I've finished my day's work, but I'm waiting for Mr Connor. He asked me out," she added after a moment, a delighted light shining in her brown eyes.
Joey found this young woman charming, although he was far too busy to have time for banter. But even if he hadn't tried anything, he didn't like seeing her with others.
"How unfortunate!" he said with a sorry expression when he thought otherwise. "Mr. Connor is on duty tonight, he won't be available."
The disappointment that passed over Allison's face was hard to see.
"He's working nights? He never told me..."
"No, this is a one-off. A sudden breakdown."
"That's... It's really..."
"Mr Drew! I've been looking for you. Everyone's waiting for you to start, and..."
Thomas stopped dead in his tracks as he spotted Allison over Joey's shoulder and a flash of concern briefly crossed his usually closed face.
"Well, speak of the wolf... It seems you're a boor, Mr. Connor. Forget that you had imperatives and ask Miss Pendle out..." he said with a big smile as he paternally wrapped his arm around the young woman's shoulders, only for the pleasure of seeing the mechanic tense up.
Probably if he hadn't had a little crush on Allison himself, he would have made more of an effort to get him in the pocket. After all, Thomas Connor was more than vital to the realisation of his project. But we're not always as rational as we should be, and pressing where it hurt was Joey's way of getting back at him for the affection the young woman had for him.
Thomas quickly sidestepped him without a glance, and grabbed Allison by the hand to pull her away. He did not hold her back and watched them exchange a few words without changing his expression. The young woman finally left him without allowing herself more than a smile, and didn't forget to greet Joey politely. They watched in silence as she walked away, and as soon as she closed the door to the stairs, the mechanic turned sharply to Joey.
"Did you tell her about the night shift on the machine?"
"Of course not. I'm not a fool, Connor. I know very well that it was Cohen who introduced her here, and that a woman in love is extremely curious. It would be annoying if she told her uncle about the odd shift on the machine, and he revealed that the night shift had no 'official' existence."
Thomas seemed to relax a little. He headed for the lift to go up to the first floor, and Joey followed suit.
"Who's here tonight?"
"Mr. Arch and his wife. The two Macron brothers, and another man who never came. But he was accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Arch, and with all due respect, he looks like he's already half-crazy. I don't know if it's safe to have him at the trials."
Joey shrugged, as the lights of the floors the lift passed through cast yellow diamonds on Connor's once again neutral face.
"There's no reason to worry, whatever his mental state. The machine itself cannot be damaged by a human hand, and those who come in at night have no clear memories of what goes on in it. Nor do those who work there during the day, for that matter. Caym..."
The mechanic cut him off without looking him in the eye, his whole stance screaming his discomfort.
"I don't need to know how it works, Mr. Drew. I'm just doing my job."
"Yeah, sure," Joey replied softly, so the memory of Connor merely looking away every time he slit a donor's throat flashed through his mind.
The lift stopped, and they walked down the deserted hallway to the machine shed. Joey passed him, and with a hand on the door, gave him an encouraging smile.
"These are demanding hours ahead. Ready to move from daytime maintenance to night work?"
Thomas looked at him, and for a moment Joey could see in his eyes the abyss of shame and remorse that what they were doing had dug into his soul.
"I don't have a choice, do I?"
"No. Not since you agreed to sign that contract with me, Mr. Connor."

A Cure for Insomnia CH 1.
This is a reader insert I originally started posting on AO3. I’m cross posting here because I know some of the fandom still lives here.
Quick Disclaimer:
This is a fic I'm writing for my own comfort.
I was inspired by RaeBees (you can check out their works over on Quotev and AO3), and how they characterize the "proxies". Having always seen the characters different than most of the fandom I've interacted with I never really shared my thoughts until now. This work is only placed in the Creepypasta tag so it reaches its demographic. However, I am fully aware of the fact that no main character is considered a Pasta.
It may also appear to lean more Toby X Protag in the beginning but end goal is protag with all three, and Brian and Tim already in a relationship. How I picture it now is a slowburn but Toby and Protag will be in a friends with benefits relationship before either has any feelings, so I think that counts. Some may be confused by the asexual protag tag but it'll be explained in story, as an Ace myself I get frustrated with media that only show one version and say it goes for us all. That being said I don't represent the whole Ace community but I hope to provide a bit more representation for some others out there.
Protag will be depicted as agender, and will have a few tics that stem from their Autism. Again I don't speak for any others with Autism but I hope to provide some representation for those in similar positions.
Tags will be updated as the story progresses. Canon-Typical violence and mental health issues are to be expected if you feel uncomfortable with those aspects I advise you to not engage. This story will also have a lot of NSFW themes and scenes so I highly discourage anyone under the age of 18 from viewing this work. You will get warnings on chapters with NSFW and I will make it skippable as well.
I'm also very nitpicky and gave the main characters birthdays just because it irritates me when it gets mentioned once and you have to do the math or imagine your own conversation when a birthday was too close to a character's.
Tim January 1st, home state Alabama
Toby April 28th, home state Virginia (saw this years ago no clue if it's accurate)
Protag May 13th, home state Virginia
Brian May 23rd, home state Alabama
Connor the service dog July 18th, home state Kentucky
I've referred to Protag as Protag here but in story they're referred to as YN.
Everything felt impossibly dull; your senses, the dark room you're currently in, the noise coming from the fan just to the left of the bed on which you laid. Turning to the window beside your head you stare out into that weird midnight summer sky. More of a gray than a true dark blue night, cast in an orange glow that made the night seem closer to day than it truly was. While the time was just half past twelve, you felt it may have been more accurate to say it was closer to four in the morning.
You're exhausted but that true sort of exhaustion where whatever energy you have left buzzes all around. It consumes your entire being, dances between being deafeningly loud in your ears to giving you twitches in your legs. You'd laid down hours ago thinking you'd be tired enough to sleep once your tics started to spasm in closer intervals, but to no avail were you able to rest. That buzzing preventing you from dreamland. Maybe the hum of your body was right, you didn't really need to sleep, you just wanted it to feel normal.
Knowing the battle had already been lost you push yourself off the bed and grab a pair of shorts off the floor. Slipping them on you contemplate your options for the night. Going into town was out since it was Sunday...well Monday now, but there would be nothing but bars open and you were never one for drinking. And as fun as a drive sounds right now, you feel the buzzing in your bones grow stronger, you need to move. A late night hike should keep you occupied, with it being so quiet and the middle of the night you wouldn't even have to take your headphones to cancel out the sounds of other people, you aren't likely to run into many people tonight.
Deciding on a hike you grab a mask and car keys and make your way to your yellow Kia Soul. A going away present from your parents that they gave you the moment you got your driver's license after your 24th birthday. Having anxiety throughout your life you'd never been in the head space to start driving till later on, and while you still don't enjoy driving you are pretty good at it even with your “late” start. Surfing through radio stations as you let the car warm up you find your latest obsession, it's a conspiracy theory podcast that someone in Kepler managed to blast through the limited air ways of the town. Impressive considering Kepler was in a radio quiet zone and even cell phones couldn't work in the small town, luckily you lived just outside of the zone so you could send texts and call your parents every weekend.
It seemed today's episode was a rerun, Mothman: Murderer, Man, or Myth. It was actually one of your favorites, the paranormal stories tended to be more entertaining than hearing about how a man could murder sixteen people while working as a cop ruining evidence to lead the others off his trail. Humans could be more vial and cruel than any little gray alien from the future or tall Fresno Nightcrawler could ever be. And they weren't as entertaining to hear about, nor were their exploits as impressive. You could always see patterns, either connecting clues first or finding connections no one else saw, it was never hard to tell where a certain case would lead so you'd always end up disappointed in humanity when they overlooked such obvious clues. Though that often led you down a path of deep diving for information to see just how obvious it was, more often than not you'd find that the most logical conclusion was shady public officers. After investigating so many cold cases you're sure if you're ever in trouble you'll never involve the police, in the end they'd probably just ignore you and rule your case closed if anything ever did happen to you.
'I'd haunt them if they did.' You decide and you shift gears and begin driving to the Monongahela National Forest, as the timeline of Mothman sightings and events play out before for your ears.
Instead of going through town and possibly loosing the signal of the show, you drive on the old dirt road that runs along the very edge of the town, partially covered in trees. This over grown road is the main reason Kepler doesn't see many visitors, the second someone makes their way onto it coming off the interstate they floor it until they see civilization. Over the few months you've been here you've nearly been run right off the road by spooked tourists, trying to escape whatever ghouls their wild imaginations created. The only real thing on this road was a mini mart gas station, and even though it was shady as hell the cashier didn't bug you too much when you came in in the dead of night. Plus they had a cat, how could you not stop in and say hi to little ole Magnolia?
Speaking of which you should probably get a drink for your hike, you could already feel your throat drying out. Turning into the parking lot you're happy to see no other cars around, putting your face mask on you make your way inside. As usual the store is dead at this time, and Ronnie is manning the desk. What's unusual is the man also behind the counter, he has dark brown hair that he's tied into a small and low ponytail, thick sideburns frame his face. You immediately take note of the slight imperfections of his face, most would see the slit in his eyebrow as following the current trend or even just a genetic thing, but you can see the slightly off color of a healed scar that starts just above his eyebrow and ends mid eyelid, he has a few smaller discolorations on his crooked nose, you'd guess he's had it broken at least twice.
Briefly taking a glance to his brown eyes before looking away, today is not an eye contact day. Nodding in their directions, the best acknowledgment you can give right now, you make your way to the freezers. From the freezer section you can hear Ronnie “explain” you.
“That's YN, a regular mainly at night though. A bit skittish and rarely ever says more than 'thanks have a nice day'” Even though she's whispering you can hear everything. Including the high octave her voice takes to mimic you, it feels more like mocking.
If being mocked hadn't already put you on edge the eyes boring into you have. The eyes may not be roaming over your body but the icky crawling of your skin sure makes it feel that way. The feeling of being put under a microscope has always made you sick, the stares, the leers and sneers, and the judgment just makes you want to implode on the spot. Cease existence, be swallowed into the abyss. You're about to set yourself into an anxiety attack with all these thoughts.
'Mask, mask, mask' you repeat over and over in your head, it's the only thing you can focus on. You are wearing a mask, there is one thing they can't perceive, the face is the most important for humans to perceive, your mask protects you.
Without looking you pull a water bottle from the cooler. You don't think you like this brand but the sports mouth makes up for it, and you can't focus enough to grab another. As the imaginary spiders crawl their way under your skin and your breath hitches you make your way over to the counter head down, never looking up at the employees beyond the counter. Your vision is blurring in time with the beating of your heart, you can't tell if it's due to nerves or from being up for five days in a row.
“Hey YN, how're you?” Ronnie asks, her tone is different from the past times you've been in. It's higher and has a lilt in it that you'd expect from a teasing friend. But Ronnie isn't a friend and has never spoken to you like this, you hate it. You nod to politely move on with the process, between the crawling of your skin and the buzzing underneath it you feel sick. And you're now very aware of the existence of your eyelids, you try to focus on ignoring that awareness. You need to move.
“Hmm, that's good. Anyway this is Tim! He's just started so go easy on him.” you hear the sound of a hand hitting fabric and assume she's patted Tim's shoulder as she introduced Tim to you. Why was she doing this, what purpose could introducing you two have? You nod again, was anyone going to ring you out?
“Hi, this all?” a deep voice asked, it isn't extremely deep more of a standard baritone that has a slight raspy quality, probably a reformed smoker. You don't smell cigarettes currently so he could've quit after years. Unfortunately despite your efforts to stave them off your blinking tics emerge. Making it difficult to keep your eyes open for longer than a nano second.
Startled and ticcing you look up and catch his eyes, you see pity in them, before casting your glance back to the counter. You can never tell what's worse people seeing you as weird or seeing you as something needing to be fixed. Nodding again, Tim tells you the total; a dollar fifty eight, and you hand him two dollars from your wallet.
Tim doesn't ask if you want the receipt or a bag, he prints out the receipt and hands you your change. The change goes immediately into the cat food fund for Magnolia. She got diagnosed with diabetes about a month ago and having worked in shelters and pet stores you know just how expensive her prescription food is. After folding the receipt into your wallet, Tim gently slides the water bottle over to you.
“Have a good night.” he says it so low and gentle, as if he thinks you'll shatter in front of him. As kind as the gesture seems, you aren't that fragile...or maybe you are if you have to keep repeating 'mask' over and over in your head to ground yourself. With a final nod you turn and make your way to the door, and just as you open it you hear Ronnie call out.
“Awwww, c'mon YN at least say 'Hi' to Tim.” You really don't like how she squeaked out 'hi'.
Taking a deep breath you prepare yourself, you'll show them both you can do this simple task. Even if you can't stop blinking long enough to see straight. Once you've steadied yourself you turn and look at Tim. He's sending you a look that says 'You don't have to' all that's missing is a slow head shake to complete his unease with this “peer pressure”.
But you can do this you can say 'Hi, Tim.' Two words super simple, nothing complex like 'Hi, Tim, nice to meet you.' and so much better than the option of your next meeting saying 'Hi, Tim. Sorry for spazzing out the other night.'. Yup you can do this just breathe, you open your mouth and...and you've forgotten what to say. Looking like a deer in headlights, well at least the tics stopped, you say the first thing that pops in.
“Mask.” You've said it loud and clear both cashiers heard you.
Tim stares with wide eyes and you see Ronnie failing to hide her laughter. Out of all the ways this could've gone this was probably the best outcome for her. The blinking has started up again, this time growing more frequent. You can't even hold your eyes open, to the two cashiers it must look like you're in pain or crying. And while you want to die of embarrassment, crying is a bit of an extreme for you.
So with red face and the inability to see you leave through the door, and try to make your way back to your car. Once in you lock the doors, switch the car on, and rest your head on the steering wheel. Out of every way this stop could've gone, being perceived by a new comer and Ronnie was not what you expected. While this hadn't been the worst five minutes or so of your life, it definitely would be another thing keeping you up at night for the next twenty years.
Calming down in the cool quiet dark of your car your slowly brought back to the world by the beginning of a new episode. This one talking about the Tailypo legend. A favorite story of yours from when you were a kid living on the coast of Virginia. So with yet another deep breath and the wave of nostalgia, you pull out of the parking lot and slowly coast down the old dirt road. Heading yet again for the Monongahela forest.
It's nearly two in the morning when you roll up to see an RV parked by the forgotten entrance of the park. It isn't surprising at all to find an RV out here since the Monongahela Forest is one of the most beautiful parks you've ever been to. You also don't think anything of them being parked by this unused entrance because you use it all the time since finding it accidentally. Figuring they just wanted to camp and be left to their own devices rather than use the RV sites and be bothered with other campers here for the summer.
Climbing out of your car you notice the RV isn't new by any means but it isn't a total rust bucket either, looks like it's been passed around throughout the years. There isn't anything to suggest it's been here a while, nothing left set up outside, must have just gotten into town then. You do happen to notice dog tracks around the sandy dirt you've parked in, good to know they have a dog before you slammed your car door. Closing the door gently behind you so you don't startle a pup and wake up it's owner or owners, you make your way through the woods. No real direction in mind, with no real thought in your head. Just the thought of moving and to keep on moving.
You could walk the same path every time you came through and always find something different. In fact that's exactly what happens, you're almost positive that you've deepened the imprint of the path just from walking through several times a week. Following the same winding path you usually do, climbing over the fallen tree, and through a scattering of blueberry thicket's you find yourself on the edge of one of the forest's many streams. It's your favorite spot in the forest so far, and about as far as you've gotten considering these hikes of yours take place during the dead of night.
The wind picks up and sends a chill through you, taking that as a sign you slide down to sit by the stream. Vans placed to your side as you sink your feet into the cool water. It's peaceful out here, so cool, and quiet, save for the slight noises the stream makes, various bubbling and drips. You try to think on things like your recent move, your job, the embarrassing 'mask' incident, just life in general. But you can't seem to form a single thought, this happens a lot, you've recently been conscious of the fact that you've been running on auto pilot for the past two months, hell a lot longer than that. You think everyone must get like this from time to time, but you think you've always been this way. Keen to dissociating and slipping in and out of existence.
It's quite nice really, except for the times like right now where you'd love to figure out why the silence in your head is so painfully loud. The more you think on it the louder it gets and the stronger the buzzing under your skin feels. And right now the static in your mind has been getting louder and louder for the past few minutes. You feel your head jerk to the right of it's own accord, moving back in place it happens for a second time, and then a third, then jerks up, before jerking a forth time to the right effectively cracking you neck.
“There we go.” you mumble, you can relax a bit as the verbal tic indicates the end of this round of tics.
Sighing you look at the sky...that can't be right. The sky has been painted it's fresh baby blues for the day, but again that can't be right. You just got to the stream, that path is a thirty minute walk meaning it should be just about two thirty in the morning, but the sky suggests it's five or six at the latest. Reaching for your water bottle you find it empty next to you. You didn't fall asleep you know that much, perhaps you did dissociate tonight. Well this hike was disappointing if you knew you were going to dissociate you'd have saved yourself that embarrassment and stayed home. Maybe done some painting or tidied up.
Sighing you push yourself off the ground, collecting you vans you're about to put them on when you notice a figure off in the distance. You freeze out of shock and stare at the figure, it stares back. The figure is about ten yards away, god your near sighted ass should really remember to not leave your glasses in the car when hiking. The figure starts to make it's way to you and after a few steps you realize it hasn't moved from it's spot. Rolling your eyes you ignore the hallucination.
You'd really needed to get sleep last night, today is day six of no sleep and though you haven't had many episodes these past few days, you have a feeling they'll start to get more prominent today. Hopefully tonight you can manage to get some rest, the longer you go without sleep the more realistic the hallucinations become. But for today you're content with the knowledge that it's just shadow like beings that you'll be seeing.
After putting on your shoes you start the thirty minute hike back to your car. You're thankful for the weather in Kepler, nothing like back on the coast. Here you can go for a morning hike through the forest while a gentle breeze passes by and the sun starts to give the area a pleasant warmth. Back on the coast you couldn't run and grab the mail without getting drenched in moisture from either sweat, humidity, or a mixture of both. The coast sucks, hell Virginia sucks altogether, you're glad to be in Kepler.
“I want to go home, home.” you say out of nowhere.
Before you reach the entrance you hear barking, oh the RV campers must be up. Should you be careful not to scare them, or just walk normally and say 'Good morning' in passing, maybe just nod your head in greeting. Oh and you've stopped just beside the entrance as you got lost in your rambling. You didn't mean to come to a stop here, and as you try to move you notice how silent it's gotten. Did the dog go inside, maybe they've already passed...no it's too quiet for that. No the silence is oppressive like the one you deal with nightly, there's a reason for the silence. The situation's making you feel uneasy, but that could be the sleep deprivation talking.
You're about to brush it off and move when you hear a whispered, “Seriously man, I don't think anyone's out there. Let's get inside.”
There's a noise of agreement before you hear shuffling. Oh no, you zoned out and now you look like a weirdo stalker. Just perfect, maybe if you wait around a little more you'll seem more normal or at least feel normal. Not knowing how long to wait you walk along the tree line for a bit, looking at the ground as you do making sure you won't step on any snakes. In you quest to not step on any snakes you spot something suspiciously off white. It seems purposefully buried under a dead blueberry bush and some fallen branches.
Having listened to too many true crime shows, you know better than to implicate yourself in a murder. Grabbing a stick off the ground you gently brush the foliage away from the supposed corpse. No way, you can't believe your luck, it's an actual fucking skull. An intact skull of a deer! That is so cool, you've only seen taxidermists on TikTok getting so lucky and finding these dudes. Since the jaw bone is connected by tissue it of course isn't with the skull but maybe it's close by? Clearly this got planted or hidden by someone, maybe they were planning on pranking a friend by 'uncovering' a skull later. Oh well, finders keepers and all that, you have way better plans for this guy, hopefully you can find that jaw bone.
You set off searching through the foliage and near by bushes with the branch while holding the skull in your other arm. After searching about three feet around and finding no more bones you decide that this is the only part of the deer's skeleton in this area. A little disappointed but still thrilled with your find, you decide it must be a good time to go back to your car.
Surely you won't look weird now. You a little forager with their treasure in hand. Looks like you'll be busy cleaning, then bleaching, and cleaning these bones today. Is that the order to treat found bones? You aren't sure but you can look into that later. Placing the skull in the trunk so it doesn't roll about and get damaged you make sure it's secure before closing the trunk and getting into your car and locking the doors.
Not once did you notice the pairs of eyes that had been watching you. One watching as you found the deer skull, and the other set seeing you place bones into your car. They kept watching as you fiddled with the radio while the car was starting up. They watched as you pulled out of the sandy dirt lot and drove back down the old road a little faster than before now that you could clearly see.

.... any succession fic recs? 👀
Yes!! I haven't read a lot for it yet, but some of the stuff I've read has been staggeringly good. I'm generally more into gen fic in this particular fandom, but have enjoyed some Stewy x Kendall, Gerri x Roman and Naomi x Tabitha too.
A few recs under the cut!
“I wanted to get out. From under all this. Take the money and run.”
Kendall tells Stewy even though he knows he’ll never get it, not like Naomi does. He’ll never understand the crush of it, the heart-stopping head-fucking fear of failing a tyrant. Kendall’s been ignoring the shape of it for a long time, putting pieces of it together in the back of his mind in total darkness like a blindfolded man. It doesn’t matter that one day his dad will die. It doesn’t matter about the money or the hostile takeover or the stolen files or any of it. There’s no running. Kendall’s Logan Roy lives inside his head.
Stewy laughs. Stewy laughs for a long time.
“There is no out, Ken, what the fuck are you talking about? You were born this and you’ll die this. You are what you are, and what you are is a fucking Roy.”
Kendall hates him, for a moment. Lightning-strike furious. What the fuck does he know about any of it, about his dad’s swinging dinner plate-sized hands, about getting 24% name recognition in reliable international polling, about puking every time you think about a car swerving off the road in the rain. About finding out that you can do something unthinkably, unimaginably terrible, and it doesn’t matter to anyone you know but you. There’s a scar on his arm that no one else who hasn’t already been told how it got there can ever know about, and he’s sick of it, and it’s not fair. He hates Stewy for a moment because Stewy’s right.
“I wanted to do the right thing, Stewy, for once in my fucking life.”
Stewy laughs again, more briefly, and the predator flash of his eyes in the neon of the motel sign is a torture all its own.
‘There is no right and wrong, Ken. How the fuck do you not know that yet? Not for people like you. Like us. There’s shit you get caught doing and there’s shit you don’t.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about. You really, really fucking don’t,” says Ken, and fuck, there it is. The road less travelled, that only he has ever driven on. The path he’s down where Stewy can’t follow. That place beyond Stewy Hosseini where he never thought he could go.
“You’re not telling me something, and when I find out what that is, and I will find out what it is, Kendall, don’t you think I won’t, so I am warning you that when I do find out I am going to be righteously fucking pissed,” says Stewy, and if Kendall thought those were a predator’s eyes before—
“Yeah, you will,” says Kendall, because he knows exactly how perceptive Stewy is. Exactly how weak he is. Exactly, precisely what both of them are.
And treat this night like it’ll happen again by postcardmystery. 8k words. Kendall x Stewy. Post s2. (CW: internalised homophobia, some homophobic language)
I tried to pick a shorter excerpt, but I literally couldn’t, this fic is so. good. The voices are pitch perfect, and it’s got this incredible build to it overall that goes back and forth between time and point of views and just rips your heart out. The premise itself is pretty simple – after the press conference at the end of 2.10, Kendall calls Stewy, and they drive through rural America while Kendall has a breakdown, and it’s just - - unspeakably good. I love it so so so much, I have no words.

AITA for accusing my father of multiple crimes on his own news station? By amleth 3k words. Gen fic. Post s2.
And now for something completely different – epistolary fic which is just reddit news threads of the Roy family drama. I love an epistolary fic and this is just totally charming, and made me laugh a lot out loud.
“You’re quiet,” she observes. “That’s a first.”
“Yeah, well, the Turks beat it out of me. Gave you a run for their money.” He waggles his eyebrows. “So what is this? Whips and chains? Are we doing the whole boat-sex thing? I heard Shiv and Tom are looking for a third —“
Gerri finds what she’s looking for: a black leather binder. She drops it on the bed and begins paging through it, and Roman cranes his neck enough to recognize that it’s just full of documents, not like, dick pics. “I’ve given some thought to what you proposed a few weeks ago, and I agree that we should make things official in some way,” she says, and he blinks.
“Uh,” he says. “Which — what part of it?”
“Take a look.”
Gerri closes the folio and hands it over. It’s deceptively heavy, and the print on these pages is way too fucking fine, he thinks, paging through it. “Is this some kind of, like, Fifty Shades of Roy sex contract? Because it’s not that I’m not into it, but I think there’s a strong argument for going paperless —”
“Strictly speaking, this isn’t legally binding,” Gerri says. “Just something I threw together with regard to our business arrangement going forward. But with no respect to the family — the past few weeks have really illustrated that no one should take anyone at their word right now. Give me a little more than your word.”
Evacuation strategies for a yacht on fire by devourthemoon. 11k words. Gerri x Roman. Post s2. Explicit.
After the events of s2, Roman and Gerri fake being married as a professional alliance, only, y’know, maybe it’s not so fake. This fic is just so, so much fun, and messy in the best possible way. The author nails all the character voices, and the sex scenes are just the right amount of hot and ridiculous, and I just love it all a lot too.
Kendall estimates it will take an hour for the first articles to go up. Some rapid-fire blog without oversight—the New York Post, maybe, or wherever those Vaulter hippies have skulked off to—will slap a catchy headline on it and report his words verbatim. Give or take a gif of his face when he switches to script number two. New York Times, Washington Post, AP, those fuckers take longer. They like to bleed the story like Middle Ages plague doctors for its marrow, fact-check and add context and analysis and as many backlinks as their servers can handle. Still, a couple of hours, and his face will be plastered on every major news outlet. His voice will play over the nightly talk shows. He’ll trend on Twitter. A few more days, and he’ll be the star of analysis segments, podcasts, weekly briefings. Maybe, fuck it, maybe he’ll trend on Twitter again.
It’s been years since Kendall read Shakespeare. But that shit sticks with you, gets under your skin and emerges when you least expect it, like eczema or Keynesian economics. He knows how the media will spin this. Kendall Roy Attacks CEO Logan for Years of Corruption. Prodigal Son Disrupts Family Legacy to Restore Credibility. That’s how Hamlet ends, right? And Macbeth, Lear, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, even Titus fucking Andronicus. The spilled blood sinks into the ground, the seedlings sprout forth from the soil, and a new castle is built on the bones. Order out of chaos, or at least close enough an approximation that the tabloids will buy it.
Legacy for profit by owlinaminor Post-2.10. Kendall Roy. Kendall through Shakespeare analogies – just - - ooooof. It's a beautiful, lyrical character study that weaves through Roy family history and teases at a future none of them are even sure they want. It's gorgeous writing.
For the next few days Shiv would have to keep the pressure on Kira like an open wound because there were other women, victims that Nate’s people were going to find one by one as soon as that phone call disconnected. Mo was her father’s friend, good friend, for a long, long time. Nate and Gil, Sandy and Stewy, too many sharks in the water and the share price probably dipped to a new low but she would never check a stock ticker. Her husband’s nerves fraying at the edges on national television. She had promised a woman she’d never met before that she would kill roughly one third of the top male executives of her family’s company. Her company.
The last look Rhea gave her before she shut the car door was concern close to fear—no longer the same woman who heard their pitch in the safe room, who laughed with her at Argestes. Rhea had only looked into the abyss; she got cold feet and she didn’t even know what it’s like to grow up in it.
Her family’s company is hers, will be hers. Even from a whale fall, new life would spring.
Feed his flesh to wayward daughters by reogulus. 2k words. Shiv Roy. Set during 2.09.
This entire fic is set around Shiv bribing Kira not to testify, and god, it is so good. It’s bleak and rough, and really hones in on the complex ground Shiv walks as a character. It's another brilliant study of what it takes to be a Roy, and the way they make the awful choices in order to fulfill this legacy that they don't even know they want.
Kendall sets down his fork. “So. Tell me. Is it everything you wanted? Is it what you thought it would be?”
Roman stills. He never does that. He’s constantly a menace in motion, slouching and fidgeting, worse even than Kendall at his amphetamine peak. “What? The view from the tippy-tippy-top?”
“His regard.” Kendall wipes his mouth with the edge of the white cloth napkin. It comes away pink from the steak. “Dad. He’s all yours now.”
Roman still hasn’t moved. Finally, he lurches, like corroded machinery come uncertainly to life. “Yeah, man. It’s fucking tight as hell. I love every beautiful daddy and me moment I was a good enough little boy to earn.” He snorts. “Fuck you.” His face goes curiously slack then, like something Kendall’s own face would do. An intermission in the performance, an energy cut. Something genuine finding its way to the surface. “Why don’t you tell me. When you got everything you wanted, how the fuck did that make you feel?”
Nauseous, is the first word that springs to mind. Sick. Scared. I’ve never had everything I wanted, there’s that. I’ve never once had a single fucking thing I wanted. There’s that, too.
Interim leadership by arbitrarily 2k words. Roman + Kendall. Post s2.
I love Roman and Kendall scenes generally, but this one which features Kendall and Roman meeting for the first time a few months after the press conference in 2.10 is just a bit magic. The push pull dynamic that's just inherent to them mixed with the genuine affection and brotherly love is really special, and arbitrarily embraces both in equal measure. It's a great little fic.
There are lots more of course, and I'd also recommend checking out other works by these authors, but I hope this is a good place to start! :-)

He let those words of the other sink in. Haarlep is a character. One with such a sultry voice similar to his owner's, and as far as they cold tell from trying to insight the other, he seems to be truthful enough.
All of what the incubus has stated so far matches up with what he knows. They were the opposite of demons, who instead from the nine hells, lingered in the abyss. They were chaos incarnate, and both demons and devils hated one another. Though, it wasn't uncommon for one to have both blood in their veins. There was always that possibility, with the unending war between the two.
"I see."
Connor speaks calmly, assured that all infliction upon them would be all for naught. It was hard to seduce something dead. And most did not want to seduce something dead.
"Back in my day, when I was alive and a priest of Lathander, we often feared your ilk. Many of them still do. Temptation and to be led astray from the path of goodness was to be considered a sin. We often feared undead more than the devils, but the devils were still a fear among my village."
Connor's eyes flicker with two red dots.
"If you could be anything else other than what you are now, what would you be? Do you not tire of staying in here? The material plane offers far more, so I am only curious if you ever are exhausted of what you do."
A shame. To be undead, or... a parasite, or whatever Connor was. They couldn't even drink wine. Even though devils did not require food, they still indulged in it. Haarlep saw it as a status more than anything. The finer things they dined upon, the higher their status was. He could have ripped the belly of a patron open and devoured their innards and it would have given him as much sustenance as the most expensive of roasts. There was no difference.
What devils truly dined upon were souls. They were what gave them power, and their screams gave them strength. As for Haarlep, though, he required the physical touch of others, to dine upon their flesh by pressing his body against theirs, by being inside them, by consuming their pleasures (or pains).
"A pity," he replied, taking another sip of his own wine before he placed the goblet back onto the table, his tail flicking idly.
Placing his hand beneath his chin, the incubus listened to what information Connor wished to give them. Intriguing, that was for certain, and the name Mystra had his hands twitching just a little. Oh, yes... Raphael would be interested in this one. There was no soul to claim, but that didn't mean Mephistopheles' son couldn't find a use for such ties.
Haarlep chuckled softly, his eyes soft on the skeleton. "My dear, I am an incubus. I am crafted to love, to give pleasure, to listen to all of your woes and make you forget them, if just for a little while. But if you prefer the company, of story telling, I have exceptional ears for that."
He hummed in thought of what it was like to be a fiend, or an incubus in particular. "To be a fiend is power, and rule, and law," he said, his expression going serious briefly as he said it. The Nine Hells were stringent in their laws, though, but very efficient. Devils were extremely efficient creatures.
"I was crafted as a gift, and I perform my duties very well, dear. But to be a fiend, or a devil, would all depend on your rank within the system. I could be demoted at any given moment, and I would tell you all about how dreadful it would be. Or I could remain in the comforts of my master's abode, and live happily and mischievously, well fed and content. My kind are scattered across the Hells and the Abyss, it just depends on how much devil or demon blood one has." Haarlep was a chaotic creature, but he was still more devil than demon, and thus followed the laws of Baator.
"To be a devil means ambition. Control. Dominance. Cruelty. Punishment. To be an incubus? Pleasure tenfold. There are few who can deny me and my gifts."

Detroit: New Beginnings
Summary: It has been one year since the androids claimed their rights to freedom after the revolution, and one year since Connor has decided to stay on the force at the DPD. The duo are currently working on a case involving androids going missing while Connor grapples with what he almost did to Markus at the peace rally and fearing Amanda’s inevitable return.
Pairing: N/A
Warnings: Violence, Strong Language
A New Start: Partners (01)
Detroit Police Dept.
August 30, 2039
12:30 P.M.
Tuesday
Chris abandoned his wife’s pastries on the counter in the break room.
Over the years, it had become an unspoken rule to not berate him for the fact that Hank could count the people that were brave enough to try his wife’s newest lifestyle kick for that week on one hand.
For all of the employees on the force, that wasn’t a lot. He didn’t need any special probability and statistics program to figure that out.
But, it wasn’t like Hank hadn’t tried. He had, but only once--and couldn’t keep a straight face or control his gag reflex enough to even think about trying it again. Their outward appearance had been what threw him for a loop initially; being made of enough random herbs and healthy shit couldn’t sway the uncanny resemblance between it and actual shit and no amount of Chris promising such couldn’t and would never convince him otherwise.
While Hank may have never cared about what he put in his body, he was still not ignorant enough to test whether or not his tolerance extended to something beyond alcohol or cigarettes. Some days, Connor’s habit of sticking evidence in his mouth suddenly didn’t sound so fucking revolting.
God, if the kid heard him say that…
In that same area of the precinct, a loud continuous whirring of a coffee machine grinded endlessly. DPD staff shuffled around it eagerly awaiting its cycle to complete, and Gavin had ingested just enough caffeine to erupt into his usual cacophony of loud remarks and comments about fuck-all that morning.
Of course the prick couldn’t grant them reprieve for even a few minutes.
Hank supposed if he didn’t then the fucker was either late or… late. It wasn’t like he ever called off.
No, they couldn’t be that lucky.
“No fucking way!” And to complete the morning, here Hank was with a deafening insistence in his tone that left little room to argue over Connor’s suggestion for the umpteenth time that morning. “I have had enough birthdays! I am getting too damn old for this shit!”
In response, Connor looked contemplative, but even more so, unsatisfied with his decision.
Typical Tuesday.
Sitting hunched over his desk, Hank sifted through piles of papers for his tablet. It furthered his incessant personal reminding that he should probably take a few minutes and clear his desk of all of his personal clutter--all of the memorabilia piling up over the years was beginning to make finding anything nigh to impossible, another indication made clear when he bumped a couple of pens to the floor with his elbow.
Cursing, he dismissed it to the abyss below his desk, staring at the screen with faux concentration. The contrast between their work stations was proving more apparent as the days went on, Connor’s completely clean of surface clutter and retaining a fresh sheen despite having claimed it a little over a year ago.
Besides the mess, the spinning yellow circle glaring at him just outside of his peripherals held his focus, having more recently recognized it as a sign of the android’s thinking--thought processing. Whatever.
Connor’s brows were furrowed, eyes fixed on him as if deciding in some sort of situational software that he had of some other option that would help move their conversation into a more positive direction, something that would somehow change it in his favor. He wasn’t getting anywhere, and Hank wasn’t going to take any bait.
The android’s lips parted to speak, but Hank was already turning away, grumbling incoherently under his breath.
And nothing that he would reiterate unless Fowler was going to lecture him about playing nice with his co-workers. Again.
Perched on the only unoccupied corner of his desk, arms crossed over a broad chest, Connor worked a tick in his jaw. If androids had actually possessed the need to breathe--and their biocomponents that simulated breathing were actually functional for that sole purpose--the asshole may have just sighed. For the briefest of an instance, he caught his partner’s stoic expression, tight-lipped and silently asking for some sort of agreement between the pair.
It wasn’t offered.
“I have been researching human cultural practices and I thought that maybe--”
“Drop it. You want to celebrate, then do it for yourself why don’t ya? Celebrate your one year since deviating. That’s in a couple of months.”
Connor almost looked thoughtful, features folding over in confusion as he worked through some sort of response. Hank’s celebration into an even older age was many in the long list of arguments that the two seemed to have, but it was also one of the only topics that Connor seemed ever insistent to talk about that didn’t revolve around a case.
That made it unavoidable.
Goddammit.
“I don’t think that qualifies as the same thing, Lieutenant.”
“Take my word for it. Let’s just go over the case.” To further his point, he swept his hand over the case files that had piled up on his desk the last couple of weeks. One large unorganized mess of manila folders and reports. “If Jeffrey dumps any more shit about it on my desk, I’m going to resign it.” It was a harmless jab in an effort to get Connor motivated, anything involving the words case or leads never failed to catch his attention.
Connor straightening from his rare hunched posture proved that fact rang true.
Even after finally closing the deviancy case.
The conversation, begrudgingly, wasn’t done though. It would be brought up again eventually. Unless the kid forgot or got distracted with something else.
Who the fuck was he kidding?
Connor never forgot. He didn’t possess the ability to forget. Maybe his stubborn nature could be argued with but in the last year or so being his partner, it was something that Hank faced with raw aggression and chose to avoid.
“Could’ve originated from the peace rally.” Hank went on, rubbing at his chin with faux concentration at the various folders opened up in front of him. He didn’t think any of them were relevant to their current case anyway. “The dates between that and the first android incident are pretty damn close together. Then again, maybe it’s just a weird coincidence.” The words unfolded into a low mutter under his breath, slumping back against his chair.
He spinned to the side to assess the clutter, a quick sweeping gaze over the mess and he retrieved the file that they needed and extended it to the android.
Connor’s eyes had followed every movement, and Hank assumed he was judging his lack of organization.
At least he kept his mouth shut if he was.
“Two guys were sent to the hospital last night.” Hank went on.
“According to the reports from Officer Miller, they were walking home from a Red Ice Anonymous meeting.” Connor confirmed.
Of course he’d kept up to date.
“They were jumped. He went to ask them some questions, bust aside from a brief statement, we ain’t getting much out of ‘em right now.” While he spoke, Connor flicked through it with practiced precision while simultaneously picking it apart. For what he already didn’t know, and Hank didn’t figure that was a lot.
And while it would be denied for the rest of Hank’s life, he would never admit that he was even somewhat jealous of Connor. If humans possessed the ability to see anyone’s information by a quick scan or retaining an entire casework of information in a few seconds, the meeting and getting-to-know-you shit of social relationships would be made easier by miles. Then again, he didn’t need any superior programming to know that his time would be better spent at home with Sumo.
“According to their file, Mr. Greene and Mr. Nicholson did in fact have a Red Ice history in the past.”
“That bit checks out with what Chris managed to get from ‘em at least. Not the worst druggies I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with.” A smirk pulled at one edge of his lips. If they were the worst of the worst, his job would have been a lot easier and most cases would be an opened and closed one.
“Possession and usage that earned them a few months jail time.” Connor confirmed, turning a suddenly quizzical gaze in his direction, dipping his chin. His brows pinched. “Wasn’t Detective Reed assigned all cases involving Red Ice?” The mention of their most eccentric detective was enough to pull a look of discomfort from the android.
Maybe it was the ill memory of the beating that he’d been forced to give him in the evidence room last year. Either way, Hank swore that Connor had some kind of satisfaction from it. He didn’t think so.
The bloody nose that he had given Perkins however? Fucking classic!
“He is, but there was Thirium found at the scene. No fingerprints on the weapon that was likely used in the attack. We’re looking at another Carlos Ortiz case except we can push an android through a fair trial now.”
Connor closed the case folder in his lap, his fingers plucking gingerly at the corner. That spinning yellow circle glared accusingly. “If the claims of their whereabouts are in fact correct, then I think that our best course of action is to question them ourselves. Maybe they can recall more when the shock period has passed. Distinct characteristics, how many androids there were in total, even.”
“Not to bust your balls kid, but we can’t scan a serial number like you can. Not to mention all of you androids have the same face. There’s no record of them ever owning an android, but…” Hank threw up his hands in surrender. “Maybe there’s a past history we don't know about. We’ll follow another lead over the next few days,” he decided. “See if they can’t give us anything else by the end of the week.”
With that, Hank breathed out a long-winded sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, squeezing his eyes shut as though fighting off a headache. Connor was a headache enough, the case being the migraine. He waved his free hand over his desk. “Take your pick. God knows we’ve got plenty.” A pained laugh slipped past his lips, almost incredulous. Borderline sympathetic.
For them.
Propping his elbow on the chair’s armrest, he leaned his head against a curled fist. His partner’s gaze was distant, even as Hank tried to meet it with a vague curiosity of his own.
He waited.
“What are you thinking, Connor?” No response was offered, that same accusatory yellow glaring at Hank just out of the corner of his eye.
Connor’s features folded, looking to an empty space at his right. Upon further inspection, Hank noted that nothing was there, looking between the two confirming the assumption that he was in some far off place elsewhere. An abrupt snap of his fingers in front of Connor’s nose brought him back. He raised his eyebrows, tilted his head. “Nothing. Nothing relative to our case.”
“Any other time you’re pulling leads out of your ass.” The remark was followed by an exaggerated sigh. His eyes rolled to the side. “This is the first time that you don’t wanna input your opinion? Finally hit a damn wall with enough dead leads, didn’t ya?”
A slight tug pulled at one edge of Connor’s mouth, working a tick underneath a rigid jawline. “Hilarious, Lieutenant.” He mumbled.
“It was a pretty damn good joke in my opinion." With a dismissive hand gesture--a quick slice of his hand through the air--he reached across his desk to retrieve one stack of case files. It didn't account for the other large piles but hell, it was a start.
“That is a personal opinion.”
“What the fuck ever.” Running a shaky hand through his hair--something else that Connor blamed on Hank's poor diet--his gaze never left him, flicking over his rigid form with a blatant curiosity. "We should go talk to Markus. There’s a good chance that he would know somethin'?"
And then Connor moved from his perch. Carefully--stiffly was a better way of putting it--around the edge of the desk. Long precise fingers fumbled for the coin in his pocket. It rolled across his knuckles, coming to a complete stop as it was flicked into the opposite palm. Hesitation made the movement rigid, not as fluent as it normally would be. A tick worked itself underneath a rigid jawline. Connor didn't look at him, and instead passed by to his own desk.
"You haven't seen him since the peace rally," Hank prodded. "I think it's about time we paid him a visit, don't you?"
"I don't know," He answered in what was almost a whisper, voice low. Unsure. "I've assessed the database's files and all of the reports involving our missing androids. I have only come to the conclusion that older models, or new deviants are being reported disappearing from Jericho. That and it's still limited to Detroit and only a few surrounding cities.” He shrugged. “So far."
Connor shook his head in defeat. "My most recent solution was to send a scan parts to Cyberlife, but-"
"All of the missing reports we’ve managed to solve end with the android self destructing and destroying their systems," Hank finished for him. "That and its considered murder with your rights. Can't just go pulling apart an android and not expect to get your ass busted."
"I do not know if an exception can be made for some kind of malfunction. I could probe its memory, but there is no evidence as to how that would affect my own systems."
"Keeping you at a distance makes the shit harder." Hank agreed, and other than nodding in response, Connor offered no comment. "Until we can figure out if it can be spread, there isn’t much that you can do."
"Why don't you take your chances and see what the hell happens?" An all too familiar and unapologetically arrogant voice drew closer to their desks. Gavin came to a full stop at their desks, arms folded over his chest with a smirk that never ceased to infuriate him. Both of them, he assumed.
He grimaced.
Fucking asshole.
"Fuck off, Reed. Don't you have your own case?" Hank grumbled, an edge to his tone that Gavin brushed off a condescending smirk.
"Unlike you and the plastic prick, I've actually made headway." Gavin boasted, his interest in Hank diverted to Connor who watched passively. Most of the time he acted as if Gavin was gum under his shoe that he could scrape on the sidewalk and be done with. Like he couldn't be bothered even when he had a gun in his face and death threats on his name. Hank had been guilty of that look once.
Gavin was full of shit, but Hank wouldn't put anything past him. Even now.
"Hey plastic," Gavin halted in front of the android, squaring up his shoulders. The situation would have been alarming if the difference in height wasn't so obvious. Reed had to look up to address him and Connor responded by raising his eyebrows, tilting his head to the right.
"Hello, Detective Reed."
"I thought that after the walking toasters were suddenly recognized as people you would leave. A detective android prototype hunting androids is still doing the exact same damn thing." He sneered.
"I assessed that it would be appropriate to remain in the android crimes department to further offer my assistance to the DPD." His hands folded in front of him, meeting Gavin's eyes with that usual infuriatingly neutral expression. The little twitch in Connor's facial features gave him away however, signaling his annoyance at the detective's harsh jobs.
Gavin didn't see it, but Hank knew him well enough that it was impossible to miss.
"Yet you're still wearing your Cyberlife threads. I'd almost think that you liked hunting 'em down. Does it give you a sick thrill, prick?"
"Reed!" Hank interjected, rising stiffly from his desk chair. "That's enough."
"I believe that wearing my uniform shows more professionalism than a leather jacket and a relentlessly hostile attitude, Detective." Connor's brows raised and relaxed sequentially, a slight and subtle twitch pulling at one corner of his mouth.
"The hell did you just say to me, tin can?" Gavin leaned forward, hand clenching at his side into a fist that he pulled back and took aim on the android.
"I said that's enough!" Hank barked, shoving himself in between them.
Gavin was shoved back a few steps.
Connor didn't budge.
"Back off! Can't you ignore him for five fucking minutes?"
"Fuck," An enraged gaze flicked between Hank and Connor. Gavin snarled in frustration, one hand slipping seamlessly into the pockets of his jacket, the other pointing an accusing finger in the android's direction like it hadn't been the detective that had approached them with the intention of starting shit.
Hank scoffed.
"I'll never so much as tolerate the plastic asshole. The day there are two of him is the day I put in my resignation." One last threatening glare was thrown their way, the threat released into a spat. Before either could comment, Gavin was storming off, cursing incoherently under his breath.
Surprisingly it had gone better than most of the other times. Hank would have admitted that.
Evidently, every altercation passed by Connor without a second thought. Hell, maybe not even a first. The evidence room incident remained the only time that the android actually retaliated on him. That being that he needed to in order to accomplish his mission.
Still, he caught Connor's expression as Gavin was leaving. He watched him through distrusting slits, LED flashing yellow for a split second before correcting itself. His jaw was tense, something dark stirring within him, something troubled that Hank didn't quite recognize. It was only when Hank actually decided to speak that Connor finally looked at him, eyes softening into something more calm, relaxed. Normal.
"Let's go ask Markus some questions. Any idea where he might be?" In a gesture of reassurance that didn't quite reach him, Hank placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Markus has been overseeing the conversion and stock of dormant androids at the remaining Cyberlife stores. We can pull up those that have yet to be listed as maintenance and distribution centers and start there." And as if nothing had changed, as if the threat from the DPD's most eccentric detective had already been forgotten--at least it would have been if he wasn't squirming underneath a clenched jaw--the task of talking to Markus seemed to unnerve him more. Talking to the deviant leader was a task that Connor was less inclined to do over listening to Reed berating him every chance he got.
The observation was a question for later, and truthfully Hank didn't anticipate an answer.
Connor stepped back to allow him through first, Hank's hand slipping from his shoulder to dangle uselessly at his side instead. Expression falling flat, he waved him through. "After you, Lieutenant."

IX. roadside loneliness
Gavin is totally screwed, there’s no way around it. Who gave his greedy heart the permission to speak anyway. Why didn’t he put a lock on his running mouth before he decided to perform some kind of bonding ritual with the person who is ruining his life in the best way one ever could. He tries to justify it to himself, puts blame on the perfect moment that had made him lose his guard. Things always get out of hand whenever one of them crosses the flimsy boundary they have so carefully set up. His feelings just can’t help going outside their cage whenever their source starts mirroring them and plant dangerous ideas to his head while they’re at it. They entice him with the possibility that Connor could love him too. That he isn’t just tolerating his advances for the sake of their relationship, that he hasn’t done all this because he’s afraid Gavin would leave him alone if he said no.
If only he wasn’t such a coward and finally asked. “Hey Connor, do you maybe have feelings for me?” Yeah, that’s never ever going to happen. He’d rather spend the rest of his life in solitude than do something this embarrassing. And it’s not that he fears rejection, but the moment his little bubble of hope gets burst, there is no telling how his twisted mind will react. He fears that he would hurt Connor by returning to his old, callous self. It’s not easy to admit, but the android has played the main role in his path to redemption. Without him, he would still be a racist asshole ready to go after those who have done him no harm. He owes Connor more than he could ever pay back, so why does he put their hard-earned connection at risk all the time. Why does he think he can go on like this, aching for someone who requires stability, solid ground under his feet, not the bottomless abyss Gavin has become throughout the years no one was there to make sure he doesn’t fall the wrong way. If only… if he had met Connor before he went bad, then things would have had the chance to work out. Though the android hasn’t even been created back then, so at least he doesn’t have to beat himself over for not finding him sooner.
If only they didn’t spend the night together, leaning onto each other like they needed one another to survive the night. Gavin did, and Connor looked like the company served to calm his mind down. It was a bit selfish of him, but he doesn’t remember ever enjoying a sexless sleepover this much. No one-night stand could ever compare to holding the hand of the person he loves all through the night. He has no idea how happy romantic relationships work, for he has no experience in that area, but if they are anything like this, he has been missing out quite a lot. Maybe what they already have is enough, since every time he’s with Connor, he feels like his life his complete. The occasional intimacy is just the cherry on top.
So he makes himself believe that as long as he gets to be a part of Connor’s life, he’ll be fine.
“What are you smiling at?” Connor has switched from watching the world speed by behind the passenger window to observing his ugly mug. Gavin hasn’t even realised that he let his thoughts escape the confines of his mind, not that he usually does. It surprises him that his face displays contentment when it’s all rain inside.
“You’d like to know, wouldn’t you,” he chuckles, readying himself for what he’ll have to deal with at his destination.
❄️ ❄️ ❄️
They have been driving for three hours already and Connor has no clue about where exactly they’re heading. All he has been told that Gavin wants to visit his family because no one should be alone around Christmas time. He’s tempted to search through his personal files to find out more about the people they’re about to visit, but he’s sworn he wouldn’t and he doesn’t want to betray his friend’s trust like that. Asking hasn’t worked either. Ever since the night they shared together their communication has become more of a chore than it normally is. It’s like Gavin isn’t even here half the time, like he has departed somewhere far away without bothering to say goodbye. Maybe registering him as his owner has really been a mistake. Connor has only managed to put an unwanted burden on him without giving him the option to refuse. Gavin is weak when it comes to dealing with his broken android partner, that much Connor knows, so it wasn’t fair misusing the man’s feelings for his personal benefit like that. Perhaps when they have another peaceful moment together, then he’ll explain himself. Gavin deserves that much.
He passes time watching the detective concentrate on the snowy road beyond the windshield. The lights emanating from oncoming cars get reflected in his eyes, creating a mesmerising image which makes Connor completely entranced. Gavin isn’t perhaps a conventional beauty, but for him, there is no one more captivating. Just the mere sight of him makes his thirium pump beat faster, and he keeps wondering why his mind doesn’t allow him to speak the three defining words. Would it really be so awful if he let him know just how much he means to him? Probably. Gavin might get scared and shut him out completely. Maybe sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry rather than do or die.
The night sky has yet again started spilling out a fresh batch of snowflakes, causing Gavin to slow down. He does seem to be upset by that since he mumbles something impolite under his breath.
“Are we expected at a certain hour?” The android hopes he’ll be welcome at all, considering who he is.
The question causes Gavin’s stress levels to spike and before Connor can react, the car pulls over by the side of the road.
“No… actually, can you,” he takes a deep breath while his entire body is shaking… “can you please get out of the car, I… I need to do this alone.”
Something stabs Connor in the chest, yet he does his best to remain collected.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah… I’m sorry. I’ll pick you up when… when I’m done.”
He can hear the pain in Gavin’s voice and understands that sometimes there is nothing he can do.
“Okay. I’ll wait for you.”
And just like that, Connor is being covered by the falling snow, ambling aimlessly alongside the road. He’s lucky that there’s a pavement, for he doesn’t want to repeat his little high-way chase ever again. Back then it was he who left someone behind, though the circumstances were very different. He really shouldn’t think about that time, lest it makes him paralysed with guilt here in the middle of nowhere, with no chance of rescue. The only person who has the ability to soothe him is busy handling his own issues right now, and good for him too.
He can’t say it doesn’t hurt, that he wouldn’t rather be in the car with him trying to help with whatever he could. But Gavin doesn’t let him, and that is one of the most painful things the man could have done to him. Connor isn’t afraid nor is he cold, he isn’t even angry at Gavin for throwing him out of the vehicle. He just feels rejected, lonely. Wondering why he came here in the first place. Sure, it was all Gavin’s idea, and Connor trusted that he would be of use. Yet in the end, it has all been a waste. He’s been but a dead-weight meant only to burden.
It’s okay. Gavin hasn’t abandoned him, he just needs a moment for himself. So Connor will be here, patiently waiting till he returns. It could take an eternity and he still wouldn’t give up on him, despite the ache and all that comes with it.
A snowflake lands on his forehead, just like it did on the first day of December. But this time, it doesn’t melt. It stays there, keeping him company like it can sense the forlornness growing inside of him.
“I’m not going to cry this time,” he mutters to himself.
A promise he will soon break.

Ecruteak is Lovely This Time of Year: Johto Journey Update
Ecruteak City was beautiful, in Spirit’s opinion. A simple place of well kept traditional buildings, a large golden tower, and one that was burned and derelict. He was surprised the burned tower hadn’t been repaired in the many years since it initially burned down, but from what he understood it was a sacred place. So that might explain why they had never repaired it.
This time, Spirit was not here to speak with Ashe, though she would be meeting him here soon, and Aku was waiting for him at the pokemon center.
This time he was here to challenge its gym, and since all he had been able to catch was Connor...well....
Looks like he was challenging the Ecruteak gym with just a furret. Sure he had Melia with him, but he had promised she could have a break the first two regions. After all she already did so much work for him in Galar, especially in the Crown Tundra. Said furret was beside him, looking up at him with unblinking eyes,
“Furrr...” (Blood.)
Spirit sighed. Honestly, who thought furrets could be so...aggressive? At least the little thing was starting to like him now, he wasn’t waking up with nearly as many scratches left on him in the night. Plus, Connor had even willingly let Spirit use a tm to teach him Shadow Claw. Still, with wary confidence given their type match-up, Spirit stepped into the gym, Connor trailing behind him.
If he had looked, he would have seen six eyes blink on the little creature instead of two.
Getting to Morty was actually the easy part, aside from Spirit taking a tumble off the walkway a few times. It was easy to lose his footing in the dark. But at least this wasn’t designed to let anyone get severely hurt. He thought back to the Rock Type gym in Galar, which was significantly worse in his opinion. Falling into pits hurt a lot more than falling into the abyss.
What left him confused though, were the gym trainers all screeching at the sight of Connor. Shouting things like “Demon!” “Foul creature!” “Its possessed!”
“Well that’s rude of them buddy, you’re just a furret,” Spirit mused to Connor, who was squeezing his lithe little body under Spirit’s legs as they left the final trainer behind and made their way to Ecruteak’s gym leader. Spirit blinked, a little surprised. Morty was actually...kind of handsome up close he noted, though mostly it was the man’s confused expression surprising him.
“...Are you the cause of all that screaming?” the gym leader asked. That seemed strange to him, the guy was just so...pink. So innocent and sweet looking. Spirit shrugged his shoulders,
“I guess so, mate,” he said. A galarian accent, well he was certainly far off from Galar. “Have your gym trainer neva seen a bloody furret or wut?” Morty’s gaze darted to the furret standing at Spirit’s side.
“...Perhaps never one quite like that.” he replied, wondering if the thing was even a furret to begin with. Did furret normally have fangs even ones that tiny? “Is that the only pokemon you’re using? A furret?”
“Yup. We doing this or what mate?”
With a sigh, Morty reached for one of the pokeballs at his waist. Given the guy had gotten through his gym trainers with only that thing, he had to suspect they both had something up their sleeve. Without another word exchanged between the two, Morty released his Gengar while Spirit motioned for Connor to move forward.
This was a bit of an unfortunate match up for both of them, Morty had very little to cover the normal type on most other than Gengar, with sucker punch and focus blast.
“Connor, use Shadow Claw!” Spirit was quick to start the fight, and Morty was a little surprised. He hadn’t the faintest idea that furrets got Shadow Claw. Connor shot forward, a blur on their battle field.
“Gengar, dodge it!” Morty ordered, but his Gengar wasn’t fast enough. The Furret had already set upon him. Furrets shouldn’t be that fucking fast- but at least the hit wouldn’t be too hard right? Connor slashed down, claws alight with swirling purple energy,
And one-shot his Gengar.
His ace pokemon. And it was already down.
Morty stared, a little dumbfounded. Was...there was no way that fucking thing was a furret. Furrets didn’t move that fast, and they sure as hell didn’t hit like semi trucks. He recalled his Gengar, wondering just who the hell this pink little Galarian fuck was.
Spirit just smiled and motioned for him to continue.
~~~~~~
That was probably the worst fight of Morty’s life. Watching one after one as this furret massacred his team. He had no idea how that had happened, and honestly it angered him. Yet he also found him impressed.
Very impressed.
As Spirit was pinning the Fog Badge to his jacket, Morty cleared his throat,
“Hey I never got your name,” he said.
“Oh! Its Spirit, Spirit Adney,” Spirit replied with a smile. “Sorry probably should have introduced myself before starting the battle huh?”
“Its fine, I don’t learn most challenger’s names anyway. But...” Morty trailed off for a moment thinking of how to phrase his question before continuing. “This may seem sudden, but would you like to get dinner with me?”
“..Eh?” Spirit stared for a moment. Shocked he was even just asked that question but- free dinner with a handsome man? Who was he to say no?
“Sure, that sounds great.”
Dying stars
Summary: “It was pointless to think about the past, they both were suffering and now the rush of emotions washed them over, captured in a searing kiss. Death or fear had no place in the room, not even the time have a meaning, an abyss collapses and consumes their solitude. What about the war? What about the conflict? For them, for now there's no factions nor reasons to fight, the moment has vanquished the war. There's nothing else around.”
Pairing: Rex and Ahsoka, Rexoka, Rex x Reader-Ahsoka (let’s say whatever be your age is Ahsoka’s).
Warning: During Order 66, angst, tenderness/fluff, some lemmon or smut (I am not sure, honestly) tragedy, death, and my tired broken heart.
Word count: 6.2k wow
a/n: Well, this was requested by @bitch8901 <3 I truly hope you like it and I apologize this took too long to be shared.
This Rexoka prompt was inspired by Sarah Connor’s romance in Terminator because of this post. It hasn’t been easy, it’s my very first fic written in English, so I apologize if there are grammar errors or spelling mistakes. Yeah, the title isn’t great as well, I’m not good naming things lol but all this was made with love. And others who might read it, hope you like it as well <3 criticism will be well received.
The Siege of Mandalore has finished. All that chaos has stopped, flames still burning and is raining ashes, blood and corpses everywhere, just for Maul to get the attention of Master Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It seems such an obsession. What a waste! It was necessary all this? He wanted something else after killing Skywalker?
Ahsoka and the rest inside the Venator already, she couldn't stop to think if she did right to not mention to Master Yoda all those crazy things Maul said. Within her, something started to ache, her chest feels like it's burning gradually. Maybe it was the recent battle, the fear and darkness sensed because of Maul caged on that mandalorian device. That shouldn't happen.
Still, those words he said about the Republic, justice and order, she couldn't forget them:
"The Republic already has fallen, and you just can't see it! There is no justice, no law, no order, except for the one that will replace it!"
Those damn words, his scared voice screaming, begging to be left to die, echoing on all her way to the bridge.
Rex was already there, looking at her, smiling until see her expression through his helmet, sad and worried. Every one salute her with respect and joy. Noticing this, Ahsoka tries to left behind her thoughts and salutes them back a bit happier for the welcome. She really missed them but also realize there are many less on board, incluiding those who weren't in the beginning of the reunion, like Fives. Where are his jokes, imprudence and laughs?
Ahsoka approaches to Rex with no words but a smirk for him; he take his helmet off to see her better. Looks so tired and of course there's something annoying her. Rex knows her so well to realize she's not entirely ok.
"Hey, Rex" the former jedi feels the need to hug him after all this chaos and losses, but she resists the temptation. Rex's chest started to pound so hard once his name was released from the lips of the togruta close to him.
He tries so hard to not rise his hand to her cheek, feel her skin, hug her and comfort her. So much to say, still, so much to hide.
Regs must be obeyed, they both have a code to be followed, emotions to bury alive, even if they don't know what they feel for each other.
It was irrelevant, Ahsoka wasn't a Jedi anymore but Rex is still being a soldier, and a good soldier follow orders, despite what he considers is wrong or right.
"It's been a while" Rex responds with such a low voice, a delightful tone for her ears.
"I know, my friend. So much has happened, so much...", she hesitates to keep talking. Her eyes try to look at any other point instead of those golden eyes. Ends to look at her feet while one hand grip her elbow.
"Hey, are you alright?" Rex rub her forearm with his to get her glance again. "Let's hang out of the bridge, do you agree?"
"Sure. It would be good for both", nods while lift up a shoulder.
The couple of friends leave the command center and the ship jumps to hyperspace; far enough of the rest of the clones, Ahsoka snag her arm with Rex's and keep walking through the hallways.
His body shudders as she gets closer to his side, both upper arms together. Gladly, the trooper armor hides his shivering body but the recent sweat on his forehead couldn't be hidden, and would be weird put his helmet on again.
Ahsoka sighs, distracted, distant. It took the attention of Rex, forgot his shyness and fear, and finally dares to speak.
"'Soka, what's wrong? You look... troubled. What is it? It's about Maul?" his face changed after name that murderer. Thinking about all the mess he provoked, all the pain caused to his men: Jesse felt so guilty and sick 'till the point he would prefered to die instead. Sure Rex was tortured with the Force once, and being choked wasn't an experience he would like to remind. Neverless, Jesse took the worse part.
"I'm sorry, Rex." she stopped sharp without releasing his arm. Drove a hand to her temple, like feeling a headache. Rex's eyes were looking for hers with no luck. "I should tell them about what he said. About that vision of him. And I must control my emotions, block this fear inside of me, but for now seems impossible to do so." Finally, the togruta takes her arm away from his. Cross both arms pressing her tummy and the self-distrust starts to invade her.
Like ignoring her friend, keeps walking. Feels suffocated, afraid, lonely and desperate; she needs to cry out to the sky for some reason. Seems that all the lessons learnt are gone, all those years in the Jedi Temple vanished. Felt so empty and confused, her eyes started to water and flick because of that. She wanted to run and hide, above all, hide her sorrow from Rex. She didn't want him to see her crying or being weak or-
"'Soka...". The togruta hears and feel a hand on her shoulder stopping her from behind. She turns around and Rex looks at her for a moment, drops his helmet and hesitating tug her from her shoulder to his body to finally hug her.
Rex tight his hold, sinking his temple on one lekku, caressing it carefully. Whilst Ahsoka stayed shocked for seconds until feel a warm in her chest wich was heavily pounding and her hands didn't know what to do, if surround him or keep them away. Clenchs her fists for a while trying to avoid the urge to hold him, such flames burning her chest to the point she cannot resist it anylonger and disposes to place both hands on his back.
The soldier was afraid to be not reciprocated until he feels her arms leaned on his body. Kept his eyes closed afraid to open them and see it was just a dream, but no, he actually was holding her as close as possible that could even feel her heartbeat through his armor. 'No more nightmares, no more pain' he was thinking. Something alike Fives said before he died on his arms. This moment feels like that: compassion and relief.
Ahsoka feels the same, exactly what she needed, relief from all pain and the compassion of a friend. It was no pity nor shame, it wasn't a negative comfort, it was a selfless act from a good heart of a great man.
The embrace dies slowly full of calm like an expected departure. She was ready to release him from her arms, so he was. She sighed deeply, feeling her cheeks turning into red, smirks because of it. Rex takes a hand to his head and trails it to the back of the neck with the same red colored cheeks on his face, made a beautiful combination of colours with that tan skin he posses.
At the same time, Ahsoka and Rex rose their faces to look at each other and smile. Ahsoka giggles to see him blushing, that laughter melted the Captain's heart. Within him borns the want to feel her face, caress her cheeks, touch her lips; he cannot stop to admire her. Ahsoka wonders what's going on his mind right now? Longing to place her hands on his chest whether he's using an armor or not, or maybe take his hands.
She looks at the dropped helmet and bends to take it to its owner. Before Rex could take it back, she draws the marks and patterns the helmet has with her thinny fingers; after that, she looked at him again to indicate he can take the helmet.
Suddenly, a tear falls from one of Ahsoka's eyes, she feels it and frowns due the sensation. She was about to dry that it but Rex was faster, so with the thumb of his free gloved hand took that tear away and his heart skipped a beat. By the stars! Even wearing gloves, Rex could feel how warm and soft her skin was. A burning desire appeared from nowhere to feel more and more of that sunset skin. He clenched his jaw to suppress those thoughts, shocked his head in denial and stepped back.
"I apologize, Commander. Such an offense I have committed, it won't happen again, ma'am", said nervously with no idea where to look at now.
Ahsoka confused and a bit worried, parted her lips thinking of something to say to make him stay. "Rex! Please wait!". She could reach him taking his forearm and then his hand with both of her hands. She tugged of them to force him to return where they were, even going further back.
Rex obeys her demands intentionally like she was stronger than him to keep him under her power and submission.
"Please, let's talk, okey?" Ahsoka asks as it could be the last time they could talk.
"Lead the way, Commander" Rex answers back with that deep and sensually calm voice that gives her goosebumps.
She keeps holding his hand afraid of lose it during their way to somewhere more... private.
Rex indicated a way to her quarters, he thought Ahsoka would need a place to relax after all the mess it was to come. It was well settled and equiped with the necessarly, incluiding more pillows that usual. A refresher and new clothes, a jedi robe placed on a table close to the refresher, takes the fabric for a moment, the nostalgia hits her for a second, until heard Rex's sweet voice.
"I thought you would like to take a nap or something. I know is not as big as you use to-" the nerve betrays him, his voice started to cut off. For the very first time they're comepletly alone in a room, Ahsoka looks so tranquil and quiet. Rex felt like an idiot. Why he's so nervous? Being at the bar and sober wasn't that hard, surrounded by his brothers and girls they invited wasn't a big deal, nor even drunk. Now he's alone with the woman he cares to the point would rather die before losing her. Such an attachment, such bond they have created, should be forbbiden. It is forbbiden!
"Rex, it is okey, I didn't think I could need it, actually. I just, please, let's talk" she sighs again and takes sit in the bed. Rex didn't know what to do or where to go. There weren't chairs or anything else, Ahsoka invited him to sit next to her on that bed. That made him blush again, she giggles. Rex leaves his helmet on the table with the jedi robe and doubting to sit yet. Ahsoka takes his wrist and tugged on it to make him fall aside her. She laughs again, such a beautiful smile on her face, those blue cristals shining like the first time he saw them. 'Yeah, it's been a while' he thought, 3 years being partners, saving each others life, having each others back, 3 years of friendship. 3 years and couldn't do enough for her when she was accused of sedition. Yes, he also said he knew her perfectly to know she wouldn't murder another clone, anyways he hunted her along side her Master and others. She must have felt betrayed. And then, thought in Fives. What if... what if he was right about all he said of the Chancellor and those inhibator chips?
His laughter stopped and the torment showed off on his face. His wrist was safe and sound on Ahsoka's hands yet, looking at him with tender and a smirk. Until see the new expression he had now. In shame, Rex looks away and removes his arm from Ahsoka's grip. Stands up and just walks around, took both hands to his temple. He gets to the door, Ahsoka fears he leaves the room but Rex turns around to look at her again. Lained on the door with crossed arms and downcast eyes, he sighs, thinking well his next words, but it seems his mind doesn't want to speak but his heart aches ready to voice itself.
"Where you've been all this time, 'Soka?" Rex downhearted alleges to her, he denies to watch her face but Ahsoka stares to him worried due his change of tone. "Rex?" she wonders. "Tup died, Fives died, we found Echo almost brainwashed and tortured, where were you?", he sounds angry but weak. Never meant to blame her but, guess he needed her there with him, maybe, just maybe, Ahsoka could help Fives to survive, who knows? Maybe all he needed was her support, her presence to comfort him like she used to do in the darkest days, in the harderst missions.
"You know what he said? Fives. He said..." Rex hardly swallows and continues, "Fives said the Republic implanted inside us an inhibator chip to control us. A damn chip ready to use it against the Jedi", there were anger and pain on his glance, clenched his jaw like it could help him to control the incoming tears. "We tried to stop him, he was scared, desperate, we had no choice and... and Fox... Fox..." his voice broke down making it harder to keep talking. Ahsoka rose up as fast as she could and ran straight to him.
Took him by the shoulders seeking for his eyes. Rex tried to evade her, ignore her glance but failed. She placed both hands on his face, Rex with eyes wide open plunges on her soft touch.
"Rex, there was no day I didn't suffer to be far from you. Believe me, I would give anything to go back in time to mend all that happened. My days on the lower levels of Coruscant might be over, I don't know, but I learnt so much being there. The Jedi are not the heroes I thought they were." she trailed her hands on his shoulders again.
"Wait, you've been in Coruscant all this time?" Rex asked while taking her wrists down. "Yeah, it's been a mess, but I saw what people think about us, and I kind of agree with the-" Ahsoka shrugged and Rex cut her off "No, wait... You've been there all the time and never saw you." Rex said hurt and dissapointed of himself for some reason.
"Maybe you should take me to that famous bar you all frequent someday" Ahsoka bantered to ease the the mood taking his hands carefully to not take him by surprise. Rex notice this, with both thumbs caresses the back of her hands. He smirks by the idea of taking Ahsoka to the bar with the boys. He focus on the ceiling of the room thinking about it between laughters, Ahsoka sighs admiring the man close to her. Such a delightful view to see her man laughing after all... 'My man?' she thought. Yes, my dearest friend, my beloved partner.
While Rex kept holding her hands, she took them to her lower back so he could hug her again. He got it and placed his hands on her middle, Ahsoka gazed at him one last time before embracing him again. Rex, again, felt like an kriffin' idiot for being so rude towards her. 'How could I blamed her about Fives? Damn it'. Rex's eyes wide shut because of that while tugged her closer, Ahsoka had no idea what's on Rex mind but could feel him troubled.
"Rex, what's going on?"
"I...I apologize for all I said, I don't know what I was thinking of"
Ahsoka stared at him and standing on tiptoe, kissing him close to his lips to interrump him. Rex swallows nervously and the blush started to burn his skin. "You don't have to apologize, there's nothing to be sorry about", Ahsoka caresses his top cheek softly, her fingers travel to his lips like her eyes.
She wonders what was that stir inside her chest, that burning flame warming her body, she wonders if Rex feels the same way, if there is the chance... She took both hands to the back of Rex's neck to pull him closer with no objection, their lips were almost together. Both hearts racing, there's nothing else around, nothing to think about. That until Rex stopped her sharp:
"Ahsoka, wait" Rex set her aside. The togruta almost lose her balance because of Rex moving her. "Wha... What's wrong?" she asks hurt. Rex walks around of the room trying to escape maybe.
"'Soka, this can't be."
"Why?" her eyes started to water again.
"'Soka..." Rex approaches to her, "Ahsoka, I..." heavy breathing being released from his mouth, his chest aches as hell, holds her by her upper arms firmlly.
"We can't!"
"Is there someone else?"
"No, Ahsoka, no!" his hands go cupped her face carefully, "Ahsoka... I'm a soldier, you're a Jedi. It is forbbiden, you know that!"
"No, Rex, I'm not a Jedi anymore! I-" she holds his hands without take them away.
"No, you're a Jedi, whether you like or not, you can't deny what you are." removed the tears on her cheeks. "Remember all those missions together, all the lives you saved, the lessons you have learnt and taught... Doesn't matter how I feel, I'm not gonna break the code, you're not gonna-"
"Do you feel something for me, Rex?", her eyes wide open, shining like two kybers newly found, the pounding heart in need of answers. 'Can it be? Is it truly happening?' questions inside her mind, anxious to know if all those beautiful moments, whether they endured or not, whether they were private or not, meant the same to him like they meant for her. The laughter, the jokes, the protection, the journey. The moments they healed each other wounds, telling stories, training together, do all those days matter for him?
"I shouldn't told you that" his hands released her face. Went to the table where his helmet was, ready to go cursing his words. 'I'm sorry, but I can't stay with you' he said to himself. "Forgive me".
With the Force, she manipulated the control panel to ensure the door. "What the... Commander, what are you doing?" he quarrelled her through his helmet nervously.
"I'm sorry, Rex, but I need to know, please" tear drops kept falling from her eyes. "I care for you, Rex. Days after leaving the Order, I realized I might not see you again, possibly ever. The thought of that broke my heart. I knew what happened with Tup and Fives. The thought of that could be you instead broke my heart. Watching Maul murdering every one of you, torturing you, and that I could lose you in my turn... Rex", Ahsoka getting closer to the soldier looking for his hands. "Have you ever fall in love, Captain? Have you ever met someone you would give your life for? Because that's what I feel for you".
Rex couldn't believe what he listened, elated and surprised under the helmet. His heart pounding violently that thought it would escape from his chest, he wanted to stop arguing with the desire dwelling inside. Maybe this is the time.
"Rex?" Ahsoka takes his helmet off one more time.
"I still remember the day I met you on Christophsis, naive and eager to fight. The sparkle in your glance, the fire in battle was nothing compared to that light of yours. Every mission I feared it might be the last one, it wasn't until I arrived to the base I could breathe knowing you'd be okay. Every night I tried to sleep without dreaming, having the picture of you always in my mind didn't help. When you left, I used to draw your skin marks in any area I had in front of me, wondering where were you? If you were safe, if you were... I'd cross a thousands systems just to ask if you're happy now and if have you ever thought of me, at least once. I love you, Ahsoka, I always have, and because of that I'd give my life for you.
Rex held her hands caressing them again, Ahsoka couldn't feel happier. Hopped to embrace him and wraped her arms around Rex's neck. Whatever was aching his chest it stopped, felt like breaking chains to breathe again, the taste of freedom. That's what he thought until Ahsoka got off her grip and pulled his shoulders down to kiss him. Holding him again around his neck this time glenter in case he tried to escape again. Such a impassioned kiss made Rex tug her closer by her waist, unfortunately the armor was damn nuisance to enjoy the moment. Rex pushed away for a bit to breathe, Ahsoka gave him the chance to recover himself but in no time approached his face to hers to keep kissing him with the same passion.
"Ahsoka, wait" he breathed. His hands went to her jaw and neck, joined both foreheads like a Keldabe kiss, it helped to keep breathing, though.
"What is it, love?" she smirks heavily breathing.
"I... think, I think my chestplate is leftover, don't you think?" he sighed and smiled. Ahsoka gave a mischievous glance, Rex looked kinda scared.
"I think, more than the chestplate is leftover, Captain", trailed her fingers all the way of his arms. Rex swallowed and Ahsoka moved aways to give him the chance to remove not just the chestplate, she expects.
Rex was shivering, it made harder to put everything off of hi body, trying to breathe steady didn't work for now. 'Trained to work under pressure, yeah sure' he thought, not like this was a kind of work to do or something alike. His mind was a mess. Ahsoka came closer and surrounded his waist with her arms from behind. Leaned the side of her face in his back on blacks and sighed, rocking as slow as possible, "Do you need help?" she offers. "Don't worry, I'm almost done" he gazed her with his peripheral.
Chestplate, shoulder pads, upper and forearms bands, gloves and belt removed; Ahsoka couldn't wait for him to put off the legplates and greaves, almost gave him chance to remove his boots. She turned him around, the embrace were more pleasant than before, by far! His chest softer and warm, those strong arms covering her perfectly. Ahsoka rose her sight up looking for another kiss of her man, Rex didn't need words for it, cupped her face with his hands and kissed her, this time with no hurry or despair. His hands felt like heaven, Rex could feel this as well, for the very first time his bare hands caressed her skin and they were looking for something else.
The kiss were turning deep gradually taking the same rhythm it had firstly, the passion through their tongues, sucking each others lips, their breathing increasing with difficult, Rex barely could remain standing so he drag her mate with him to the closest wall and his hands went to her hips to pull her body against his. The excitement was noticeable, it seems Rex didn't realize of it but it pulled a moan out of Ahsoka among their kiss while she tried to get closer to him to keep feeling that sensation down there.
Their kiss grew deeply, even more every time like it wasn't enough for both. Rex trailed his hands down to her asscheeks, squeezed them and spread them a bit. Ahsoka lifting the head stopped sharp the kiss to murmur his name, that gave Rex the chance to kiss her chin and jaw, lick her neck, trailed his mouth to a part of her collarbone. He couldn't kiss her further or bow lower, so he lift her up enough to Ahsoka wrap his waist with her legs and held her against the wall making Ahsoka to moan again. Rex felt the goosebumps again after that, breathed on her throat and kissed her gently. Her body started to feel hotter, like burning inside, something in him felt as hard as the beskar she's wearing, something Ahsoka could feel between her thighs while Rex kept kissing and sucking her neck carefully, she hummed in response for every kiss, tugging the fabric of his blacks. He missed her lips and the taste of her tongue and so did she.
"Take me to the bed... Rex" she begged.
"Are you sure?" he asked frowned.
"That's all I ask" she breathed. "Unless...Do you... do you want to...?" she asked as well, maybe he wasn't ready.
"You needed to ask, cyar'ika?" he drew a wide smile.
"Okay, then put me down".
Rex wondered what she was thinking of, whatever it is, he was eager -and nervos- to see. Ahsoka moved him back until his legs hit the edge of the bed, she push him by his bare tan chest to make him lay down. She stared at him for a while and started to take of her clothes, the blush on her face was burning her cheeks, shivering and giggling. Rex couldn't help but smile admiring her from the bed.
Ahsoka disappears for a moment to place the beskar pieces on the table, Rex takes advantage of her absence to remove the legplates and greaves that couldn't take off earlier, put kept the tight black pants on, for now...
Ahsoka shows off before his beautiful golden eyes with nothing but her headdress, crossing her knees and one arm barely covering her breast, blinking flirty. With his jaw dropped, Rex stared at the woman in front of him: his eyes were shining like dying stars, breathing between laughters, posing both elbows on his knees. He wished he could freeze the time just to preserve the current picture: the women he loves looking impressively ravishing and gorgeous. Nothing else mattered for him.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Ahsoka bantered.
She crouched to the bed, Rex's legs were between Ahsoka's and then she sat on his lap. What kind of man had in front of her now? The narrow and precise soldier she met on Christophsis, the man made of regs and stone, honest and experienced, gone for now, for her. Ahsoka thought about the times when Rex was distant, quiet and even angry. Nothing could turn his mood easily, nor his brothers or the General Skywalker. She tried to be there, in all those bad moments or mostly of them, being an incorrigible chatty, weird and brisk, talking about silly shit she learnt from Fives or joking about any thing related to Kamino and its tall people. Sometimes it worked, some other times, it was useless, causing the beaming 'joy' of the togruta vanish 'til death thanks to his monotonous tone of voice.
It was pointless to think about it, they both were suffering and now the rush of emotions washed them over, captured in a searing kiss like there’s no tomorrow. Ahsoka took away that tight t-shirt of his and touch every inch of his bare torso softly like she'd been afraid to rip his skin with her fingers. Rex's hands cupped her breast while licking her collarbone, could sense the vibrations from her throat that her moans were causing. His tongue were going lower and lower to kiss the middle of her chest, lick and suck each bosom, the sweet sound of hers just made his excitement increase and Ahsoka knew it. She stopped again, lay down his body for a better posture and travels her hips on his, Ahsoka started to grind down against him, Rex moaned with such a deep voice that made Ahsoka crumbled inside. The sensation was so electric, so addictive, Rex couldn't help but rock his hips up against hers, her entrance getting more wet due the rub they were doing.
"Rex!" she gasp, the massage tingles her inside her lower abdomen, meanwhile Rex caresses her breast and squeezes them. Travels his hands to her waist moving her a bit harder against his hips. His fingers tightens her bottom manipulating it because of the touch of her entrance with his erect member. It seems that Ahsoka was getting close to the peak of pleasure, her legs were starting to lock up, shivering, Rex notices this without knowing what to do but enjoy the view clutching at the sheets, relishing her taste, the taste of her tongue, her body. "Rex" she cries out again, the man holding her small waiting for orders of her commander.
"Rex, I... I want you, I want you inside" she begged out of breathe.Rex heed, rose up to embrace her and switch positions, carefuly placed her body in the bed. One arm held her shoulders tugging her closer to his chest, his free hand posed in her tummy feeling her heavy breathing. Such a want in her eyes, a burning desire glowing on her countenance, Rex trailed his fingertips to her bottom lip, the top of her cheek, her jaw. Placed his hand on the curve of her neck and kissed her again.
Seduced by the blaze, their bodies intertwining, being like a whole, rolling on the bed. There's a point that Ahsoka wraps his waist with her legs to immobilize him, Rex buries his arms under the pillow letting his body go down taking over Ahsoka's skin. Rex rubbed his hips against hers, both gasped loudy in the moment he gets inside her. Ahsoka opened her eyes as wide as she could due the spiral of rushing pleasure she was experiencing, Rex smirked looking at her expression and kept planting kisses over her temple and going down her jaw. Ahsoka sank her fingers over the heaving back of Rex as he was thrusting against her hips a slow rhythm, overwhelmed by the passionate pleasure burning inside of him; Ahsoka licked his neck while Rex squeezed her breast, releasing heavy groans by his part. The vibrations from his throat were exciting, erotic. Such stimulation provoked an increased rhythm on his movements, taking her hands above her head, Ahsoka closed her eyes letting being drift by the satisfaction and thrill.
"'Soka" he mumbled, she could barely hear him. His thrust were going faster and forceful every time, she was about to explode out full of passion and-
"Rex... Oh, Rex! I am... I-" whimpering weak until the burning pleasure dwelling inside of her core reached out to the highest point. A loud moan escape off of her lungs, but Rex wasn't done yet. Ahsoka was trembling and moaning, Rex still enjoyed her captivating body. Lied his head on the crook of her neck with his fanned breathing over her chest, his hips meeting hers insistent, faster thrusts until he finally came... Rex was labored breathing, his limbs were shivering, despite his current fatigue, his hips gave another couple of thrusts releasing a low groan after each one before pull out his erect member of her body.
"'Soka... I-" he breathed. She stared at him with tenderness and a quiet passion.
"Rex..." Ahsoka announced softly, looking for his eyes. "I love you". Rex gift her a wide smile over her confession and caresses her hot flushed face.
"Mesh'la," Rex kisses her, "Cyare," kisses her again, "I love you, too" kisses her one more time, "and my life is yours".
Even being tired and weak, Ahsoka found the strength to get up enough to embrace him, forcing him to lay back. Both gave into another passionate kiss to culminate their love. At the end, death or fear had no place in the room, not even the time have a meaning, an abyss collapses and consumes their solitude. What about the current war? What about the conflict? For them, for now there's no factions nor reasons to fight, the moment has vanquished the war. There's nothing else around.
* * * * *
Exhausted as hell, they sleep cuddled to recover energies. As expected, Rex is a man of light sleep, because of this, wakes up hearing his device was receiving a message. Carefully he abandons the bed trying to not to wake Ahsoka. Before taking his holo device, Rex puts on his blacks again to answer the call.
Rex watches the hologram, he's receiving new orders from a dark robed figure: "Execute Order 66".
"Yes, Lord Sidious", Rex responded.
Ahsoka was awaken already.
"Rex? What is it?" Ahsoka feared the worst, not because of the message, but the nightmare she had about her old master Skywalker and forced her to wake up.
"Find him... Fives, find him!" Rex looked chaotic, desperate. His voice was different, threatening.
"Rex...?" Ahsoka tried to approach him.
"FIND HIM!"
Rex started to shoot. Ahsoka evaded the blaster shots but is not enough, with the Force stopped him against the door. Unlocked it and pushed him out. She was scared, confused, her heart was racing as hell. The nightmares returned, she closed her eyes to concentrate about those dreams she just had. No doub it was about Anakin, something went wrong; so much suffering, chaos, anger... And now Rex is against her, why?
"Why he wants me dead if... He said he loved me, why he...?" her chest was aching so much, but she needs to calm down, she must know what just happened! She went for her clothes and lightsabers, got ready and the first thing she had in mind was Maul. He said this would happen, he must know something more.
Exiting the room, Rex wasn't there, looked everywhere to ensure the hallways were empty. A door opened and there he was with a bunch of clones by his side aiming her, ready to kill her.
"No, all of you go to the prision area and kill the sith. I'll take care of this, personally", Rex commanded.
Ahsoka couldn't understand but wonder what's going on and how she's gonna stop this maddnes? She knew about Tup and Fives, she knew something went wrong with them and died. Rex said "find him", and that's what she's going to do.
"Rex, what are you doing?", Ahsoka begged for an answer.
"The Jedi commited treason against the Republic, all of your kind must be executed", Rex said with conviction and coldness. "No exceptions".
* * * *
It's been a couple of weeks after the massacre against the Jedi Order, it's been a couple weeks the Venator crashed onto the surface of that moon. Rex and Ahsoka buried the bodies of the fallen clones found among the debris. Rex equipped the Y-wing bomber he piloted to escape from the Star Destroyer alonside Ahsoka.
She was mourning the soldiers, Rex watched her from behind drop her lightsaber on the ground in front of the fallen. Maybe to make it seem she died with them, maybe 'cause she couldn't do enough for them as a Jedi. Maybe she dropped her saber because she wasn't a Jedi anymore. Who knows.
She turned around to Rex and started to walk, Rex was approaching to her as well.
"Ahsoka?", like a man that used to have an strategy all the time and now has no idea of what's next since everything went to shit, tried to find some answers from his partner.
"We must go" Ahsoka couldn't watch him to his eyes. Her voice sounds so empty and scattered.
"'Soka...", Rex held her by her shoulder, took her upper arm and pulled her over him. "C-Cyare..." his voice were almost broken.
Rex embraces his mate from behind leaned his head on her montral. Ahsoka was hurt and hopeless that she couldn't be afraid even. What is the point of the Dark if it cannot control what's teared into pieces. Forsaken and broken, what else she could be? What else she could do?
Felt her legs too weak to keep standing up and just slipped down to the ground. Rex tried to keep her up but was useless. He ducked in front of her to see what's going on. Her intense blue kyber crystals started to cry, quietly sobbing took her hands to her face to cover her shame. Rex couldn't see her crying, he would do anything to stop her tears from falling, but for now, he comprehend she needed to let it out, all the frustration, the sadness, the failure.
"Forgive me, Rex. I-I can't... I can't for now", she sobbed. Rex didn't say a thing. He had no words to share, however, even if he didn't know, his presence was everything for her. It was a gift that the man she loves had survived, still, as a Force user, could feel the chaos and death provoked by the clones. It is such a wound inside that seems can't be healed. But now, she has to learn to live with that wound and the pain it causes to her. She must find a new way live, a new path to follow, and Rex would be there with her. Nothing matters now.
Ahsoka stands up, Rex helped her carefully. Look at his sad golden eyes for a moment and Rex caressed her cheek. Embraced her once more and said "Thank you for saving my life once again, cyar'ika". "You would have done the same for me, dear", she retorded.
Rex smiled her weakened, dried a tear from her cheek with his gloven thumb, and both aboard the Y-wing ship ready to go wherever the Force take them from now on.
I kinda lost the plot with this one. I kept getting interrupted. I also did not intend for it to get this long. Idea stemmed from one of the prompts posted for Cute Girls and Hot Androids.
Warning: NSFW (I can’t help it. I love writing sin.)
He thought he was doing everything right. He scoured through hours of research, read books, watched movies, even gathered knowledge by observation. things seemed to be going so smoothly.
"Don't EVER do that again!"
Your words still rang in his mind, stuck on repeat. He just wanted to show his affections. After two months, he thought it would be perfectly normal, almost chaste with what he has noticed among other couples and media, to desire physical affection.
he just wanted a hug.
you were standing in front of the coffee machine in the break room, watching as it fills your coffee mug. You had been putting in a lot of hours lately, sent on call after call, only to come back to a large stack of paperwork. With his own duties, he could not offer assistance, though he tried to ensure you, at the very least, ate something, even if it wasn't particularly healthy. You were stressed and you were tired. Perhaps, that had been his mistake. He wanted to offer you comfort, and studies show hugs can lower stress levels.
He had come up behind you, offering a morning greeting and getting a mumbled 'morning' in return. Just as you were about to grab your mug, his hands slid against your sides. The strange sound you made, coupled with the way you tried to jump away, caused him to pull back. You swiftly turned, looking around the room wildly before turning on him. Your threatening words had caught him off guard, and he stood watching you storm away with wide eyes and a hand over your mouth. Your cheeks had been flushed a bright red. Were you embarrassed? Was being embraced embarrassing for you?
Or was it him?
The thought that you might be uncomfortable because he, an android, tried to touch you made his artificial heart stop, falling from its place in his chest and sinking into a dark abyss. Looking over his memories, he realized that you had not actively sought out his touch on previous dates. He had always initiated it, taking hold of your hand when walking or a quick embrace at the end of the evening. Even with those, you had been quick to pull back. Why would you agree to date him if you had an aversion to his touch? Were you simply being too polite?
Depression threatened to crush him under its oppressive weight, but he couldn't give in. He can't believe it. You cared for him, you said so yourself. There must be something that he's missing.
In your mad dash, you had left your coffee, still sitting under the coffee maker. He made it, just how you like it, taking it and wordlessly dropping it off on your desk. You quietly thanked him, cheeks still tinted red. It wasn't much, but it was something.
Connor tried hard to focus on his work, but he kept thinking back to you. He tried to figure out if he missed some human cue, something to explain your actions. Every time his mind played the audio of your voice, so enraged by his actions, he sank a little deeper into despair. He moped about the DPD, doing small favors in hopes you might smile at him. Give him some reassurance that he hadn't inadvertently destroyed his chance to be with you. It wasn't until the end of his shift that you messaged him.
"Would you like to come over to my place tonight?"
He agreed with no hesitation. He sat at his desk, ruminating on his thoughts for the next hour until you were done with your work, then he followed you out.
In your car, he wanted to strike up a conversation, anything to fill the silence hanging heavily over the two of you, but your answers were quick and precise, blocking his every attempt. Maybe you were thinking of the best way to break things off, not wanting to hurt his feelings. His chest ached, and all he wanted to do was crawl into a hole and stay there indefinitely.
At your apartment, you kept fiddling around, doing anything and everything to avoid the android standing at your door. He couldn't take it anymore. He just wants things to go back to the way they were.
"I'm sorry," he said, "Whatever I did to upset you, I didn't mean anything by it." You turned to him, seeing his pained expression. Your face scrunched up, as if you were fighting back tears.
"No, no, it wasn't you. You didn't do anything wrong," you sighed, sitting down on the couch, gesturing for him to join you. He complied. You didn't speak right away, trying to gather your thoughts. He waited patiently, hoping to get an explanation and not a dismissal.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I know you didn't mean anything by it. It's just-" you huffed out a breath, "-growing up, I didn't receive much attention from my parents. My father was AWOL and my mother worked all the time. When she was around, she viewed affection as weakness. I was brought up believing that."
Connor's eyes widened. To think that you had been denied such a basic human need for so long. He hasn't known emotions for long, but in the same aspect, he wasn't that old either. In that time, he probably had more physical reassurance than you had in your entire existence. It should be a sin. He realized you were not finished.
"In high school, a friend had tried to give me a hug, but when she touched my sides, I didn't anticipate it and I... squeaked. Our little group all heard it and assumed it was because I was ticklish. After that day, they would poke or squeeze my sides any chance they got and I guess some of the sounds I made were a little... provocative. I didn't want the attention, so I started distancing myself from them. Eventually, I just kept to myself.
"It took a long time to change my way of thinking, that showing affection was okay as long as it's wanted, but you are the first person to get this close. I guess when you touched my sides, old scars resurfaced." He fought against the urge to apologize, knowing you didn't blame him. How could he possibly know that? Still, for you to go so long without any physical affection, and then for your first experience to be so traumatic, he can understand why you were so quick to anger back at the station. You feared it happening again.
"My systems indicate that your symptoms are consistent with being "touch-starved". The best treatment is to be consensually touched on a regular basis, starting out slow and gradually working up to more sustained holds. If you wouldn't mind, I can offer my assistance."
You smiled softly at him, giving him a nod.
"Okay."
Slowly, he brought his hand to yours, feeling the slight flinch before you relaxed. His hand traveled up, resting on your forearm, stroking the soft skin with his thumb.
"Is this okay?" He wants you to be comfortable with everything he does. Your eyes were closed when you nodded.
The gentle touch felt like too much, yet not enough. You wanted him to touch you, to hold you. You wanted what others had all their lives, to be comforted by touch, rather than be scared by it. His hand didn't move, and you realized he wanted to move slow to avoid over-stimulating you. But, you wanted him to move faster. You craved the touch, needing so much after being supplied so little. You had never trusted anyone so much, but you knew Connor would never do anything to intentionally make you uncomfortable. You can only hope he would not mind if you smothered him under your needs.
Connor was happy that you trusted him so much, and he would not take advantage of it. He kept his touch chaste and ensured you were comfortable in your environment before he would do so. He felt a little guilty, but the small sounds that you made were heavenly. He broadened his explorations of your skin, wrapping his arms around your shoulders, whispering reassurances as you began to snuggle against him. It was a week later, sitting back on your couch, that you decided to speed things up a little.
"Could... Could you turn to rest against the arm of the couch, please?" You asked hesitantly. He looked confused, but complied, legs resting on the seat. You reached out, gradually pushing one of his knees to rest against the back of the couch while the other leg was nudged to the floor. You sat between them, nervously lying down against him, body tensing against the warmth before slowly relaxing into it. Connor was secretly relishing in the feeling of your weight on him, but he kept his hands to himself as you got comfortable. You laid on your side, one of your hands at his shoulder.
"Are you okay with this?" You asked.
"Yes, " he leaned forward and pressed his lips to your crown, "absolutely."
You pushed against him, listening to his mechanical heart, enjoying its steady beats. You had never felt such a level of comfort, as if this was where you were supposed to be. Unbeknownst to you, Connor felt the same.
He made a bold move, taking a hand and gently setting it on your waist. You jolted, squeezing his shoulder as you made that strange sound again, a mix between a squeak and a moan. Still, you didn't remove his hand, nor did you ask him to move it. You started to relax into it, loosening your grip, even allowing your fingers to begin roaming. He had to bite his lip when they slipped under the collar of his shirt. Your soft touch felt so nice.
Seeing his reaction, you immediately pulled back, but he caught your hand, kissing your palm, over and over. He could feel you shiver, watching as he licked up to the tip of your finger. He wasn't sure what made him do this, but he liked how you watched his every move, waiting for what might come next. However, he wanted you to decide the next step, so he released your hand. You put it back on his neck, pulling yourself up and turning to lie on your stomach. His hands returned to your sides, adding gentle pressure, making direct contact with your skin as your shirt rode up. Your eyes kept glancing down at his lips, creeping closer and closer. Anticipation built up to the point where he felt he might combust, artificial breathing picking up. When you finally made contact, it was his turn to make a strange noise, softly moaning against your lips.
When the two of you kissed before, it was always so brief, and he was always the one to initiate it, wanting to put his studies into action. The first time, it was like a jolt to his systems, and every kiss after made him desire more, but you always pulled back and smiled before finding an excuse to leave. It made him doubt his research. This, however, made him forget about it altogether, losing himself in the touch. The way you kept moving against him, and those needy sounds you were making, it was all so captivating. A touch of his tongue to your bottom lip was all it took for you to open for him, allowing him to explore your mouth, sliding against your tongue. You pulled back, gasping for breath. In his haze, he had forgotten about your very basic human need. His body begged for more, wanting to feel everything, a tingling beneath his skin. When you went to kiss him again, he turned his head.
"I'm concerned, " he whispered.
"For what?" Even your hushed voice was enough to send him into overdrive.
"If we continue, I may not be able to stop, " his dark eyes met yours, a fear residing within them. He doesn't want to do anything that could hurt you. He felt an ache, a need that wanted to be quenched. It wasn't something he didn't know about, but being what he is, he didn't expect it to be so strong. Malfunctioning programming and system errors were becoming common in deviancy, but rarely did a program activate on its own and refuse to deactivate.
Connor's hands had moved in the heat of the moment, one resting under your arm, the other on your hip, pressing you tightly against him. You could feel a hardness, pressing against your thigh. When your eyes widened in shock, Connor looked away. You cupped his cheek, turning him back to you. Your heated stare kept him locked in place. You leaned forward whispering into his ear.
"Then, don't stop."
His body shook, holding you tighter, the strong hold making you moan. The sound vibrated through his being, and before he realized it, he had you flipped, pinning you against the couch.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" You smiled. Everything Connor ever did was for you. In his arms, you are safe.
"Yes. I want you, Connor."
That was all it took to break down his restraint. He lifted you up, carrying you to your room and lying you down. His lips were on you again, kissing along your jaw, behind your ear and trailing down your neck. Your hand raked through his hair, his moans intermingling with yours. Your other hand tugged at his shirt. You wanted it off.
He got the signal, pulling himself away and making quick work of the buttons, tossing the shirt to the side. You drank in the sight, hands running along his synthetic muscles. When your hand made contact with the center of his sternum, he flinched. You knew what resided there, just under fabricated skin. He didn't flinch again when you returned your hand to that spot, gently stroking it before returning to your exploration.
While you were distracted, he slowly worked his hands under your shirt, starting with the hem at your hips before gliding them upward. He could feel you quiver at his actions. Just as he reached the bottom of your ribs, you took hold of his wrists. He quickly withdrew them, watching you sit up and take off your shirt, unsnapping your bra and taking it off before your nerves could set in. You had never been so exposed, though you suppose, neither has Connor. It felt amazing to be able to bare yourself, body and soul, to someone. To trust someone without any worries or doubts.
Connor wasn't sure where to start, it all looked so soft and inviting. Fingers danced along your skin, making you quake under his gentle touches. When his palm ghosted over one of your nipples, you released a moan. He focused on it, intoxicated by the sounds you made and the way you gazed at him, like there wasn't an outside world, just you and him in nirvana. He likes that thought.
Curiosity made him lean forward, taking one of your nips into his mouth, feeling it perk up as his tongue played with it.
"Connor!" You moaned, arching into him. A leg went over his hip, trying to pull him closer. Switching to your other breast, he brought himself to rest against you, groaning at the contact against his throbbing member. His need flared again, and a warning started to flash in his vision. He was overheating. It spurred him to move faster, a hand slipping to your jeans, skillfully unbuttoning them and pulling down the zipper. In no time at all, he pulled off your pants, your panties pulled down with them. He couldn't help but stare, your sex already so wet for him. Embarrassed, you tried to close your legs, but he took hold of your knees and pushed them back apart.
"So beautiful, " he murmured in awe. His curious fingers slipped between your folds, amazed by the way you threw your head back, moaning his name louder than before. It sounds so much better from your lips. His touch was everywhere at once, every caress causing you to make more of those beautiful sounds, your face contorting into what could only be described as pure bliss.
It wasn't long before he slipped a finger inside, feeling your tight walls. He can't help but wonder how he will fit. You squirmed under the strange feeling. He slowly worked it in and out, letting you get accustomed before he added another, tenderly working you open. Adding a third finger, he touched a spot inside that left you breathless. You held him still, wanting more.
"Please, Connor." He couldn't deny you, undoing his own pants and swiftly taking them off, followed by his boxer briefs. You couldn't help but steal a glance at his length. He was big, making your nerves falter. In the dim light, you noticed that the tip was blue in color, leaking a steady opaque fluid.
"I can hide it if you prefer, " he spoke above you and you realized you had been staring too long.
"Hide what?"
"The color. I just have to adjust the thickness of the skin." He can make it wider? You weren't sure you could fit him to begin with! "Your heart rate increased, so I assumed the odd color was distressing for you." You realized he was worried you didn't find him human enough.
"Connor, I don't care about that. I love you for you. Never feel that you have to disguise yourself for me."
"Love?"
Shit. It just slipped out. You knew you loved him, but that didn't mean you meant to say it! Too late to go back now.
"Yes, Connor. I love you. Is that okay?" Just as you finished speaking, he was on you again, body pressed tightly against yours as he kissed you passionately.
"Yes, " he moaned against your lips, "I've... I've never felt... Anything like this. I think... I think I love you too." His words were broken up between each kiss, unable to stop. You felt so light, needing him to hold you down, grasping onto him desperately. He had no issues with it, happy to hold you forever. Tears escaped your eyes with your elation. This man, this perfect mechanical man, loved you. Anything after this point is just icing on the cake.
Taking himself in hand, he stroked his length, groaning as he spread the lubricant, ensuring he was properly coated for your comfort, before lining it up with your entrance. You tensed at the contact, taking a breath to calm yourself. He pushed inside, just the tip, feeling you squeeze around the intrusion. It felt so good, unlike anything he has ever known before. He fought against himself to push deeper before you were ready. When he felt you relax again, he moved forward, sinking in slowly until his hips met yours.
"Fuck, " he ground out. "You're... So tight..." He rested between your breasts, kissing the skin to distract from the stimulation and the desire for more. He waited until you were ready, nodding your head. Testing the waters, he pulled out slightly, only an inch or two, before pressing back in. It felt incredible, and from the way you moaned into his ear, you enjoyed it as well. He started off slow and gentle, but he wasn't sure how long his careful control will last.
You couldn't contain the sounds that left you. Every time you called his name, he would speed up, setting a steady pace. Your fingers clawed at his back, leaving marks that will be gone before the morning. You wrapped your legs around his hips, allowing him deeper. The slight change of angle caused him to find your weak spot again, making you cry out. With the precise movements only an android is allowed, he hit that spot, over and over. You could feel a knot forming, getting tighter with each thrust. Connor started kissing your neck again, and you could feel him latch on to your sweet spot, marking your skin. He wanted everyone to know who he loves, who you love. His hand went to your clit, stroking it to match his pace.
"Connor!" You screamed, the tension snapping. Connor slowed down, drawing out your orgasm. You had never come so hard, squeezing him from within. He groaned at the feeling. When you came down, he picked up his pace, chasing his own end.
"Connor, ahh... You feel s-so good... I, hah, I love you... Come for me, Connor, come for me!" You moaned, hand pulling at his hair and tearing at his back, the sensations coming across as pleasurable. Your words were all he needed to send him to his own end, thrusting deep as he filled you with his synthetic seed, each spasm making you take more of him. Connor rested against you, feeling your fingers run through his hair. When he went to move so you wouldn't suffer under his weight any longer, you held him in place.
"I like how you feel. It's comforting." He looked up to you, seeing your content smile and sparkling eyes. At that moment, he realized he wanted to see that look every day, every moment of his existence.
"I love you, " he spoke, in amazement, and when he heard you murmur them back as you started to drift off, he knew that he would fight with everything he has to keep you in his arms, in this place you both belonged.
The succubus feels Connor's nervous energy before she even acknowledges their presence. It is faint but palpable, a subtle ripple in the air——like prey in the distance, too aware of the hunter's gaze. Her smirk curls at the edges of her lips as she hears their tentative words, the awkwardness dripping off them like cold sweat. Mortals, undead, whatever they are——they're all the same when it comes down to fear. It excites her.
She doesn’t answer them right away. In truth, their question hardly registers, lost in the fog of her own amusement. She cocks her head, letting the silence stretch between them like a taut wire. When she finally decides to speak, her voice is honeyed, smooth as silk pulled over sharp iron. ❛ Connor, correct? ❜
Her tone lingers on their name as if tasting it, savoring the syllables. She flicks her gaze up and down their towering frame, noting the long limbs, the hollow sockets where their eyes should be, the grotesque elegance of their skeletal form. For all her years of debauchery and darkness, of consorting with devils and dragging souls into the abyss, she has rarely encountered something quite like this.
Her first instinct is revulsion, but there’s something else. A spark of interest. Curiosity. What lies beneath this husk of a creature? A soul? Or something else?
❛ I’m so flattered you came all the way over here to chat with little ole me, ❜ she purrs, her voice dripping with sarcasm, though she adds a flutter of her lashes for good measure. Her movements are deliberate, sultry, but they lack any genuine warmth.
She takes a step forward, close enough that she can feel the cold emanating from their body, close enough that her breath stirs the stillness between them. She’s well aware of how her presence unsettles others. Her demon form—her true form—bristles with predatory menace. Large, veiny wings curl behind her, casting elongated shadows in the firelight, while the tips of her sharp claws brush ever so gently against her side. She relishes the discomfort she inspires, wears it like a cloak.
Nepharia inhales deeply, unapologetic as she invades their space, her nostrils flaring as she takes in their scent. Her eyes narrow, tracing over their body as if she might see through the bones to whatever is hidden underneath. They don’t smell like death—no, not entirely. There’s something else there, something more alive, more real than mere bone and ash.
❛ You don’t look mortal, ❜ she muses, her voice low, almost to herself. She leans in closer, her gaze locked onto the empty hollows of their face. ❛ But you… almost smell it. ❜ She lets the word almost hang in the air, heavy with suggestion. Her smirk widens as she tilts her head, studying him as one might study a rare and dangerous specimen, caged just beyond reach. There is desire, faint and flickering like a dying candle, but it’s not the lust she’s accustomed to. It doesn’t reek of lustful hunger or desperate infatuation. It’s something else, something that piques her interest more than she’s willing to admit.
❛ I can feel the pull of your soul, ❜ she murmurs, and now her voice dips into something darker, something far more intimate. ❛ Faint… but it’s there. Like it’s buried somewhere deep, out of reach. ❜
She lifts a hand, claws gleaming, and hovers it just above their bony chest——teasing, not touching. Her fingers twitch, aching to delve inside and find what he hides. What is he made of, really? What secrets lie coiled within that brittle cage of bones? She’s tempted to tear him apart, to see what she might uncover beneath all that decay and mystery. But for now, she restrains herself.
❛ Curious, ❜ she finishes, her eyes glinting with amusement and something else——hunger, perhaps. Or fascination.
@h8fuckk sent a prompt:
“You have my attention - now do something with it.”
Well, when she puts it like THAT--
Connor's still fairly new to the camp, trying to get to know the folks here and there. At least, to those who would talk to him. By Jaheira's grace it's the main reason he's allowed here.
Her tone is stinging. If it were a blade, it would have barbs to complement the edge.
Yeah, no pressure.
"I... Uh... I just wanted to talk."
"How are you doing? Feeling?"
#how are you?#neph: ur weird and i can feel ur soul it feels good what are you?#relentlessgrief#ic. replies.#v. act ii.
