hate the fact so many people think dear evan hansen is supposed to be “oh! good story good protagonist” when it’s not. every character we follow is incredibly flawed and it’s portrayed that way. it’s your fault if you can’t see OBVIOUS criticism of our main character’s actions through the show.

“but! but the end! he got scot-free!”

he lost the only actual friends he had. he lost the murphy family who he felt was his only family at that moment. before speaking about the letter being his, he already lost alana and jared, and the ONLY person he had after the fact of revealing that the letter was his was his MOTHER. a woman who, throughout the show, he had a strained relationship with.

not to mention did we just ignore good for you, which came BEFORE the letter.

also i think….? complaining that the murphy’s didn’t out evan is SO weird.

in the end of the show the murphy family literally gets doxxed (in the novel, they quite literally SAY where the family lives online, as well as zoe’s number. jfc poor girl), because of something these people believe to be connor’s suicide note, which quite literally doesn’t say ANYTHING bad about the murphy family. people just decide to dox the family because they have the interpretation that the murphy family is all at fault.

can you IMAGINE what would have happened to evan if the murphy family came out about that? it would be SO much worse.

the murphy family is dysfunctional, yes, but they aren’t evil people. there’s a REASON they didn’t come out with it because. they didn’t want evan getting the same treatment as them, no matter how badly he fucked up. because they have REASONING in their brains.

this is so easy to understand and people so lack the skills to think about media in the current day. like no. the show doesn’t explain it to you outright, and it doesn’t come to a perfect ending for you. and it shouldn’t have to if you’re able to understand media to an extent.

Say what you will of him but he is a good man who continued to fight even after losing everyone he cared for—his mother, his mentor, his best friend, his father. He may not show it easily and has a brutal combat style, but he is loving, kind, and gentle. He only wants what is best— he does what is right, no more, no less. this was incredibly overwhelming and a nightmare to deal with look at all those lines everywhere

but i fixed it as always! also you may notice that the hat has been enlarged significantly

i hate that joe locke doesn’t get the credit he deserves on his own show

as much as i love kit i feel like the heartstopper fandom is kit obsessed

on ep 4 (journey) all i’ve seen is “kit and wills scene” or “kits acting” (and i promise i am not hating on them) and people completely forget about joes acting in this ep. cuz as a person who has suffered w an ED, i cried at his acting and felt that they did a great job depicting it and joes acting was phenomenal when it came to that.

and not only ep 4, the whole show he was phenomenal from 1x01 to 4x08. and i think he finally deserves the recognition for the show that hes THE MAIN CHARACTER IN

dawn and edie are such interesting characters. especially as a duo.

they’re complete opposites and yet they’re the exact same.

they parallel so well, yet they’re on the opposite sides of a spectrum.

edie and dawn are objectively as obsessed with the curse as one another, and i think that fact gets tossed aside because dawn’s obsession is negative.

deny it. what’s fact or myth? is there any truth to it? is it all just stories? she fixates on the curse via the stories. she blames the stories for the fact her sons are gone. she doesn’t blame fate, herself, the lack of proper mental care of both of her sons, but falsified stories.

who does that sound like? at face value, if i hadn’t mentioned only sons; it would have easily sounded like edie. edie blames her children’s death on the curse. which is just stories. that’s all the curse is. and doesn’t take responsibility for her negligence.

the odd thing is though, edie is exclusively know for her obsession with the curse and dawn isn’t.

and that’s because dawn doesn’t flaunt it like edie does. that is a huge reason dawn’s not known for her obesssion while edie is.

it’s really interesting to see how someone can take such a similar concept and turn it on it’s back without losing the original concept in the mix. but it’s so hidden that a regular observer doesn’t notice it at first.

i don’t know. this probably isn’t at all cohesive. i was just thinking about it because it’s been on my mind recently.

I think I’m crazy for noticing how Connor and Haytham both have habits of clasping their hands together but Haytham’s is usually behind his back, guarded, commanding authority and respect while Connor’s are clasped together in front of him. Like he’s shy, yet far more open, also quite guarded but willing to reach out and help someone.

I have so many favorites in the last 5 years since I've officially gotten into DC.

John Constantine, literally all of the batfam, Connor (because of you and now I have his origin comic and did my first cosplay as him), Johnathan Crane, Harley Quinn and Edward Nygma.

I think the one that holds a special place in my head above all is Richard Grayson. It's a bit basic but he's the one I grew up with and got to see him grow again and again as i got older.

I might get his character wrong but I loved that he's such a mentally strong character who isn't just a happy guy.

I love that he isn't the most intelligent out of the birds and bats but he's made it up in so many ways with his cleverness, wit and compassion. I also loved that he killed the joker, man's not above murder to avenge family and I respect that.

He's a man with a temper and so much emotion that I don't feel ashamed to have a lot like him. He's just a man who's flawed but still keeps going and loves his family. He's my Robin and I just love him to bits.

You don't have to write something for me. Even a hint of an update, the smallest imagine or any post is a blessing to me 🥹💖💖
