Badai cedera menghujam Timnas Australia. Tujuh pemain tumbang untuk melawan Timnas Indonesia dalam lanjutan Putaran Ketiga Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 Zona Asia.

Ketujuhnya yaitu Kusini Yengi (Portsmouth), Thomas Deng (Yokohama F. Marinos), Harry Souttar (Leicester City), Jordan Bos (Westerlo), Connor Metcalfe (St Pauli), Nestory Irankunda (Grasshopper FC), dan Alessandro Circati (Parma).

Australia bakal menjamu Timnas Indonesia pada 20 Maret 2025 dalam partai ketujuh Grup C Putaran Ketiga Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 Zona Asia di Stadion Sepak Bola Sydney, Sydney.

Kondisi ini jelas menguntungkan Timnas Indonesia. Tim Merah Putih diperkirakan bakal turun dengan kekuatan terbaik, termasuk Kevin Diks dan Mees Hilgers yang telah terbebas dari cedera.

Bahkan, Timnas Indonesia bisa surplus pemain. Terutama di lini belakang. Tim Merah Putih punya banyak pemain naturalisasi yang tersedia untuk menghadapi Australia.

Sementara itu, pelatih Timnas Australia, Tony Popovic berkomentar menjelang pertandingan melawan Timnas Indonesia, yang punya pelatih baru yaitu Patrick Kluivert menggantikan Shin Tae-yong.

"Pergantian pelatih Indonesia tidak mengubah rencana kami. Sulit bagi kami untuk mengerti atau tahu apa alasan Indonesia mengganti pelatih, tapi tentunya secara internal mereka sudah mengambil keputusan," ucap Popovic.

"Mereka merekrut nama yang tenar dalam sepak bola, dan tentunya Kluivert ingin mempertahankan penampilan bagus mereka saat ini, dan ingin memulainya lawan Timnas Australia," sambungnya.

"Sekarang dia mencoba sesuatu yang baru dalam hal karier melatih. Dia belum punya banyak pengalaman dalam melatih, dia mungkin melihat hal ini sebagai kesempatan untuk melakukan hal yang spesial. Saya doakan dia yang terbaik, tapi bukan saat Maret 2025 ketika melawan Timnas Australia," tambahnya.

"Tentunya Timnas Indonesia tim yang kami hormati, mereka menunjukkan hasil bagus, kami bermain imbang di pertemuan pertama. Tentunya mereka akan hadir di Sydney dengan harapan meraih hasil bagus melawan Timnas Australia, jadi tergantung kami untuk fokus pada diri sendiri," tandas Popovic.

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals started hot but fizzled out quickly.

Harrison Jr (aside week 2 explosion) has been a rookie growing pains for fantasy.

Connor has been wildly inconsistent.

Kyler himself had been hemming and hawing with Dortch and Michael Wilson instead of targeting the franchise high draft pick.

TE McBride has only just come on lately but that's partly due to this TE enigma trend plaguing the league

Prater was hurt but has been servicable...mostly.

And the defense, not even worth mentioning smh.

The Seahawks have been competitive. Geno for one had probably been the most reliable and consistent QB in fantasy.

Metcalf has been hot & cold but mostly usable. JSN has shown flashes but really has surpassed Lockett.

TEs aren't worth writing home about. Streamers at best.

The darling of the season of the Hawks is Walker. When healthy, he has been the fantasy stud. Zach C. Has been amazing as a handcuff can be producing about the same when Walker is out.

Kicker Myers has been decent.

Defense tho... matchup dependent.

Rams have had it bad. Kupp goes down in week2 and Puka not so long after. This has made Stafford fall in reliability.

TEs aren't matchup dependent and defense is laughable.

We saw a glimpse of the fire power in TNF when the WRs returned in the early week 8 matchup.

Kyrein has being the fantasy darling as he never fails to score in each game

Purdy hasn't looked pretty as of late. The situation worsened when (in the same game) Aiyuk and Deebo went down. Jennings was a waiver wire warrior for fantasy teams. Moody getting hurt sucks. His replacement has missed a few fgs smh. Kittle surprisingly has been one of the top TEs *not just by name*. The CMC injury put teams in a tails pin unless they had or acquired Mason. Mason has been a steal for teams. The defense can be up & down - more so than past seasons. Aiyuk was a disappointment.

Circati Shines in Socceroos’ Dominant 5–0 Victory- Fanslikefollower

Circati started at the heart of Australia’s defense, keeping a clean sheet in their 5–0 victory, but it was his on-ball prowess that earned him accolades.

The Parma defender delivered a long pass to the left for Leckie, who controlled it with his chest and passed it to Behich, who was fouled in the box. Kusini Yengi converted the resulting penalty, with Circati’s pass initiating the Socceroos’ first goal. Circati mentioned that this move was something the team had been practicing.

“Before the game, I spoke with Lecks [Mathew Leckie] and Aziz [Behich],” he said. “We like to bring the left winger inside, opening up space for Aziz. Whether it’s him or Lecks staying outside and him coming inside, it creates opportunities behind their fullbacks and center-backs.

“So, as I stepped in, I saw the right moment — even though it was only two or three minutes in — it was the perfect time to hit the long ball, and it worked out.”

At just 20 years old, Circati also demonstrated his defensive skills, which were pivotal in Parma’s promotion to Serie A this season. One notable moment was a crucial block in the first half while the game was still competitive, thwarting Palestine’s attack.

“As a defender, it’s instinctive to see the striker about to shoot and get your body in the way,” Circati said. “You just have to position yourself between the ball and the goal, and that’s what I did.”

This match marked Circati’s second appearance for the Socceroos and his first playing in the state where he grew up. He expressed gratitude to the fans who came to watch.

“I’m speechless,” he said. “The dream has come true. Thank you to everyone who came because you made my dream a reality.

“It’s only my second cap for the Socceroos, so it still holds significant value. It was wonderful to see familiar faces I hadn’t seen in a long time.”

Circati was partnered in defense by Ipswich Town’s Cameron Burgess, who was also playing in front of his home crowd. Together, they completed nearly 200 passes during the match. Circati cherished the experience of playing alongside Burgess.

“Playing with Cam was special, especially since he’s had a fantastic season,” Circati said. “Being both from Western Australia, it’s meaningful to play together here and secure a great result against a strong team that can pressure many opponents.”

Like Circati, Burgess has been promoted to a top European league, the English Premier League. He joins St Pauli’s Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe, who will compete in Germany’s Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season.
