Another sad thing -- for me -- about Amaz-fucks cancelling The Peripheral is that for a few days now I've been toying with the idea of continuing a fic I have in my wips. And I wanted to re-watch the show.

I will re-watch it anyway, but now I don't know if I'll have any desire to write. I mean. I also have that original idea that uses the show characters (with different names of course), so I will probably write that instead... But not fic... *sadface*

Happy holidays, Peripheral fans! Now that season one has come to an end, what better way to celebrate and speculate than with a Peripheral Prompt Fest?

For the uninitiated, The Peripheral is a science-fiction series that debuted on Amazon in October of this year based on the 2014 novel of the same name by William Gibson. From what we’ve seen, this fandom is small but mighty, and we’d love to help bring more fanworks to everyone!

For this prompt fest, all kinds of prompts and welcome — gen, shippy, smutty, angsty, etc. Fills can be fanfiction, fanart, playlist, icons, gifsets, headcanons, whatever you can think of! Because all kinds of prompts are allowed, we ask that people who consider joining be eighteen years or older.

IMSA Long Beach

Na largada houve um toque entre o Cadillac V Series R #01 (Da Cadillac Ganassi Racing) bateu com o Acura ARX06 #60 (DA MEYER SHANK RACING),que também teve um toque com a BMW M LMDH V8 #25.

A equipe da Cadillac Racing até tentou arrumar o carro pra continuar más não deu, já o da Meyer Shank voltou  para a corrida.

Após a relargada teve uma parada muito estranha Do Cadillac V Series R #31 com troca de pilotos com apenas mais ou menos 10 minutos de corrida.

Após a relargada a liderança na GTP e na geral estava com o Acura ARX06 #10 (WTTR-ANDRETTI), em algumas voltas depois da relargada o líder estava chegando no Cadillac V Series #31 que tinha feito uma parada nos boxes durante o sefety car.

Olha o enrosco que aconteceu entre os GTD\GTD PRÓ, eles conseguiram sair dali então não teve bandeira amarela.

A Disputa entre a BMW da Turner motorsport e o Astom Martin da Heart of Racing da GTD.

O momento da parata obrigatória em que as Equipes Porsche Penske Motorsports ,WTTR Andretti Acura e a BMW TEAM RLL foram as melhores.

Isso que é bom numa categoria muito equlibrada três marcas diferentes nas três primeiras posições.

Depois da parada a disputada dos lideres que já tinham parado, menos o Cadillac V Series R #31, era entre o Acura ARX06 #10,BMW M LMDH #25,Porsche 963 #6.

Com 1 hora completa das 1h 40 minutos de corrida faltando 50 minutos para o final dela,o Cadillac V Series R #31 tinha se recuperado e estava na volta do líder com o Brasileiro Pipo Derani na condução.

A disputa da 2ª posição entre o Porsche da Pfaf Motorsports e o Corvette C8.R na GTD Pró.

Após as paradas a disputada estava com todos que já tinham parado menos o Cadillac V Series R #31 na disputa, faltando meia hora de corrida ele fez a parada obrigatória e caiu para 6º posição na corrida atrás do Acura ARX 06 #60 que já tinha  recuperado pelo menos naquele momento estava na volta do líder.

E a disputada do segundo lugar continuava entre o Corvette C8.R e o Porsche 992 GT3 R da Pfaf Motorsports.

O momento, da disputa entre Porsche 963 # 7 VS Acura ARX06 #10 na disputa pela 2ª posição.

E eles ficaram nessa disputa duríssima até que o Acura teve um problema e ficou lento do nada e a BMW  M LMDH #25 chegou logo atrás nele.

Eles conseguiram chegar no Porsche  963 #7 e tiveram o disputada incrível de três carros no final da volta.

Até que o Acura ARX06 #10 com Ricky Teylor no comando passou o Porsche #7

Nos últimos 3 minutos de corrida o Acura #10 estava alcançando o Porsche #6 

Nos últimos 1min15 pro final o Acura #10 Tinha passado o Porsche #6 e logo depois perdeu uma freada com isso colocando uma bandeira amarela na pista inteira e terminando como resultado na primeira vitória do Novo Porsche 963.

For me, personally, it’s complicated. Because, for one, I’m not a shipper. I prefer friendships.

I do not oppose to them being allo- and amato- shipped though, like, at all. There is an appeal there, and they are growing on me with each episode. ;)

I think, though, that there are other peoples out there shipping them. Amirite? Speak up folks!  o.0

Okay I’m only on like episode 6, but is anyone else shipping Conner and Burton?

Gads, that scene with Leon. I can’t believe that we got to exist in the world where men on screen can be badass and, at the same time, vulnerable. My love for Leon, a side character, grows with each re-watch. He’s that burly, jovial guy, who seems a little dumb, who no one would take seriously at first glance. But his compassion is immeasurable. That face he made at the end, watching Conner sleeping? :’(  Am I right?

I was wondering about command structure in the squad too. Burton seems like the leader to me too, but there seems to be more “Let’s all agree on the course of action” here? I don’t know.

Can’t wait till Friday, too! :D

This episode did so much for the characterization of the Haptic Squad, mainly Conner, Burton and Leon (missed seeing more from Carlos, and where was Reese? Didn’t see him there at all). What do you think about their dynamics? And what about Macon showing up there to help Conner? He was so earnest... ;)

I loved episode six of the peripheral! This show has A LOT of characters, but if it bothers to introduce them in more than name, it won't leave them hanging. Most of the characters who are introduced end up being grounded in the narrative and explored as characters in their own right, either in conversation with them or about them. Thanks to this even the more extreme personalities have a rightful place in the narrative.

This episode, for me, was all about Connor and I love him so much. He's such a charming guy despite the trauma, suicidal ideation and the drinking. The actor is phenomenal in portraying him. We already knew quite a lot about him from previous episodes. We knew that he was chivalrous, wouldn't leave Flynne alone to deal with the lowlife. We knew he has a very functional rig, that gets him around, we knew that he was suicidal. When he threatened Picketts men, he did so on the grounds that he don't mind dying especially not if there's a good cause, like taking at least two out of three with him. We also knew that he needs the fight, that he goes looking for it. He also gets prickly if people pity him, which is why when Macon gets sent to help he clearly has instructions to do so while acting like he just casually came by. He adorably can't act, at all, but Connor lets him help anyway. This episode explored more of all this with a special focus on his friendship with Burton and Leon.

I love his friendship with Burton. There is so much backstory to unravel between them, and you can tell that they've been thick as thieves since forever. I also love how Burton knows that pity is the last thing Connor needs. What he apparently needs is to be teased and gentle talked to. And Leon. Threatening to sing. That whole scene was golden.

Through Connor we also got the flashback to war...in Texas?!?! And more, much needed info, on the haptics. I have two word s for you: shared trauma! Turns out that they can share not only visually but also emotionally. We already kind of knew this but showing us the vivid scene where Leon takes his pain was still an eye opener. Two souls coming together indeed. How much of a strong emotion can bleed over I wonder even when not actively sharing?

In the flashback it feelt like Burton was the squad leader, and that's the way it still feels. He's the one who delegates tasks. I wonder if this was/is official?

I also love that Flynnes been printing him legs but on the down low cause she too knows that Connor has a hard time with pity.

I can't wait to see how the trio will handle the future together. Next episode can't come fast enough!!!

Cory Lee has visited 40 countries on seven continents, and yet the Georgia native has never explored Cloudland Canyon State Park, about 20 minutes from his home. His wheelchair was tough enough for the trip to Antarctica but not for the rugged terrain in his backyard.

Lee’s circumstances changed Friday, when Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources and the Aimee Copeland Foundation unveiled a fleet of all-terrain power wheelchairs for rent at 11 state parks and outdoorsy destinations, including Cloudland Canyon. The Action Trackchair models are equipped with tank-like tracks capable of traversing rocks, roots, streams and sand; clearing fallen trees; plowing through tall grass and tackling uphill climbs.

“I’ll finally be able to go on these trails for the first time in my life,” said the 32-year-old travel blogger, who shares his adventures on Curb Free with Cory Lee. “The trails are off-limits in my regular wheelchair.”

Georgia is one of the latest states to provide the Land Rover of wheelchairs to outdoor enthusiasts with mobility issues.

In 2017, Colorado Parks and Wildlife launched its Staunton State Park Track-Chair Program, which provides free adaptive equipment, though guests must pay the $10 entrance fee. Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources has placed off-road track chairs in nearly a dozen parks, including Muskegon State Park. In 2018, Lee reserved a chair at the park that boasts three miles of shoreline on Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. “It allowed me to have so much independence on the sand,” he said.
