this is yet another instance of me being a sore loser but i really feel bitter and disappointed when big events with big guest artists etc are always organized in western countries (and ofc asia would only mean jp) and the cultural exchange/exposure keeps getting better there while we are kinda left to figure this out ourselves (in this specific complaint i am talking about big anime cons happening in usa with huge guest artists from around the world which leads to more people becoming aware/interested in comics/manga while these things are still considered fairly niche and "childish" in my country)

One of the worst things about Dungeon Meshi getting so popular is all the skinny + big tit art of Falin. Not like she's canonically very heavy but Ryoko Kui at least knows that women's bodies are generally filled with organs and meat. Anime fanartists rushing to cover their bases for con tabling are polluting my eyes with the most milquetoast Falins I've ever seen.

Pros: A professional clown with a cheery attitude even in a grim situation! According to her artbook page, one of her main joys in life is making other people smile. Her sibling-like relationship with Kurumada makes even the cantankerous and aggressive boxer have a good time

Cons: Having died early and sidelined by the plot, we don’t get to spend as much time with her

Sara propaganda:

Pros: Being the protagonist for almost the entire game, she has every opportunity to see her funniness through all her seriousness. Being friends with Joe and Ryoko make them all a fun group to be around, and she shines with the rest of the cast! She canonically can’t swim, and has sat on a traffic cone for reasons unknown.

Cons: Sold her freedom to sacrifice Anzu, which isn’t particularly sportsmanlike. She is determined and serious, and a lot of her humour comes in reckless situations where she probably should be using that. in a life-and-death situation simply presses buttons at random, as well as poking an antagonist to snapping point when he finally agrees to help out.

Mejores DORAMAS del 2023- Parte I

En realidad son los doramas que más me gustaron porque esto es totalmente subjetivo 🤷, si fueron malos o buenos eso lo verán los demás.

Solo quiero enumerar y comentar, demás en algunos casos 😅, sobre los doramas que más disfrute por una o más razones.

Los mencionados están aquí porque me sorprendieron en menor o mayor medida. La mayoría de ellos no esperé que me gustaran tanto.

Aunque el primer lugar obviamente es el que más me gustó, eso no hace que los otros sean menos buenos, simplemente conecté mejor con esa historia.

11. Nanyobi ni Umareta no

Una serie tierna, contada de una manera extravagante con personajes interesantes, se desarrollan con dialogos fuera de lo común y significativos en varios momentos. Aunque con una recta final algo decepcionante para mi gusto, en general la disfruté.

Tiene actuaciones admirables, sobre todo la de Iitoyo Marie , con una banda sonora muy agradable, tomas de grabación hermosas y me resulto atractivo el cambio de color o falta de el cuando se veían escenas del pasado.

Algunas acciones de los amigos de Sui no me parecieron de disculpar, más que nada las de ririko o Mizuki, claro que la primera estaba arrepentida no como la segunda que le costó bastante (con divorcio incluído) portarse decentemente pero igual termino hasta agradandome 😆 así que no puedo decir mucho.

Los últimos capítulos después de ver el admirable fortalecimiento de la protagonista, se ponen muy cursis para opinión peroooo también se adentra en la personalidad de Kumon, algo que celebro porque su perspectiva la sentí sincera, en serio comprendí su actuar, el por qué de su actitud hacía los otros. Creo que empatice mucho con su "desdoblamiento" de personalidad y aunque tal vez la cosa se pone demasiado sentimental para mi gusto, es bueno que pudiera que el personaje tuviera su crecimiento.

10. GOURITEKI ARIENAI: Tantei Kamizuru Ryoko no Kaimei

Si fuera más exigente, está série no debería estar aquí, con todo lo que me encanta no creo que sea objetivamente tan buena como las otras de la lista pero ¡Qué importa! La pongo porque quiero🤣

Y es que es un dorama que disfruté mucho, no fue mi fav. de esa temporada solo porque salió en la misma de Kyojo 0.

Tiene un desarrollo de capitulos muy ágiles y divertidos aún siendo algo predecibles. Los personajes simplemente formaron un duo formidable, con una química de 💯. Solo por eso quisiera que hubiera una continuación 😊 porque en general, sí se desaprovecharon algunos aspectos de la historia y el final me decepcionó mucho.

Es que la dinámica de compañeros entre los protagonistas es perfecta, me atrapó, no me cansaba de verlos interactuar.

Y gracias a esta serie conocí a Amami yuki, que es una muy buena actriz....que mas podría decir.

9. Kazama Kimichika: Kyojo Zero

Cuando empecé no tenia las grandes expectativas porque aun escuchando cosas muy buenas de sus especiales, la historia me atraía poco. Pero eso cambio al verlo sobre todo después del cap 4 ya que los capítulos se desarrollaban de una manera que no esperaba.

Y con esto me refiero es que no una serie policial que se enfoque en las investigaciones sino en los detectives de turno, a los que Kazama guía para que mejoren profesionalmente, lo que esta ligado a su crecimiento personal. Esto busca evidentemente tener como resultado una policía mas eficiente que pueda hacer justicia para los afectados. Agregándole que hay un caso sin resolver relacionado a Kazama que aporta atractivo a la historia.

Cada personaje, cada dos capítulos en general, me parecieron buenos. Mostraron desde diferentes ángulos como se puede fallar consciente o involuntariamente en una investigación por cuestiones personales. No creo que se busque que sean perfectos pero sí que consideren sus habilidades y defectos para lograr eficacia, teniendo en cuenta que lo que deben tener como prioridad es cumplir con la misión que ellos se han propuesto dentro de la policía.

Hubo capítulos más emotivos o interesantes que otros y el último de ellos, creo que no fue necesario, aún cuando me gustó, el penúltimo pudo haberse alargado y ya, no se necesitaba de un caso más.

Debo agregar que por esta serie conocí al actor kimura takuya. Sé que es famoso y tiene su historial de doramas con rating altísimos pero yo no había tenido oportunidad de ver algo con el actor y quede complacida porque su interpretación en esta historia me atrapó.

8. Ichiban suki na hana

Una serie cálida y que da pena terminar porque ya no se veran mas interacciones entre estos amigos.

Es un dorama contemplativo en muchos momentos, cuestiona los prejuicios ante as relaciones entre hombres y mujeres, pone en relevancia lo fundamental que puede ser conocer a alguien que parece entenderte aunque sea en momentos específicos de tu vida.

Esto último es evidente en el chispazo que tuvieron los cuatro, comprendiéndose sutilmente. Mas aún con los encuentros casi diarios que tuvieron, donde se conocieron mejor. Pero también se refleja en sus respectivas relaciones con Midori. Ellos fueron importantes para ella como lo fue ella para ellos, cada encuentro en su contexto.

Lo único que quedo sobrando, para mí, es el amor no correspondido de Momiji y Yoyo. En serio que era lo que más temía con ésta serie, pero como lo manejaron de mejor manera, no me molesto tanto como podría haberlo hecho. Supongo que era necesario objetivamente pero yo lo odié. Y es que...

Aunque lo ideal es que ellos cuatro sigan siendo amigos aún sin tener un sitio como la casa de tsubaki para reunirse, en lo personal, creo que en muchos casos no es idóneo seguir siendo amigo de alguien que te gusta. Claro que estos personajes no representan a la mayoría así que por ahí lo sentí más aceptable pero igual me dejo un sentido agridulce incómodo que , en mi opinión, no era necesario. O por lo menos esto se debió "solucionar" como a la mitad de la serie, cosa que no tenia tanta relevancia.

Pero todo esto último es porque en realidad a mí me gustan mucho las series de amistad y hubiera preferido que el tema romántico se manejara con otros personajes fuera del grupo protagonista.

En general, es de esas series encantadoras en las que parece no pasar mucho pero eso está bien porque todo decanta en cómo pasa, los sentimientos generados y me gustaron mucho los puntos de vista no comunes que ellos les atribuían a cosas convencionales. Se extrañará esa singular y reconfortante amistad.

La otra parte de los mejores decidí por algunas razones continuarlo en otra parte...

I guess Haruhi's been formally accepted as an acceptable trespasser. Which is nice for me because I much prefer she sticks to her black uniform. I'm glad we haven't seen the forced and awkward Kyon Gym Clothes look for Haruhi and Itsuki in a couple episodes.

Sure enough, she is an officially licensed and permitted trespasser.

She caught Yuki gaming, so Yuki wasn't paying attention to what she was being given to sign. Classic con artistry. So, officially, the Literature Club is borrowing an exceptional student from Kouyouen to help them with club affairs.

Well, good for her. But she isn't God here so your expositional services will not be required. I am much more interested in your green and white shoulder furoshiki. There are many different ways that furoshiki are wrapped and carried, but that color, pattern, and method of carrying is commonly used for stealing.

Man from another school walked in here carrying a burglar's lootsack and the teacher was like, "It's so nice you're here to help with a club. La dee dah!"

This is how school supplies, trophies, cheat sheets, and Mikuru go missing.

There's something cathartic about having someone in the cast who can do shit like this to Haruhi. Lawful Menace was a much needed addition to this cast.

They keep teasing Kyon and Mikuru's first meeting but the way they hint at it makes me pretty sure I don't actually want to know. I am entirely comfortable writing off their introduction as "We've all seen the show and know how Mikuru gets used here" and then moving right along without having to dwell on it.

Well shit. Here we go. Guessing this is where the titular obento comes in.

Oh, are we doing a Rashomon? Because it's always fun to do Rashomon.

Okay, never mind. This is surprisingly chaste for a Mikuru incident.

It's not a Rashomon either, but that's okay. There's not enough meat here for a Rashomon anyway. The important thing here is how it affects Yuki.

Who is buying Tsuruya's bullshit hook, line, and sinker. They say a lie can get halfway around the world before the truth has even got its pants on, but that's an underestimation of the lie. It can go much farther.

Ryoko trying to explain in theoretical terms the road to improving Kyon's understanding, and Kyon's takeaway is a practical application of his dumbness.

Well, he tried to get Ryoko's help and then hideously misunderstood what she was trying to explain, so now he gets Lawful Menace instead. XD Ryoko remains MVP.

Because Haruhi got to wear all sorts of cool shit when she was the main character. (We do not talk about Mikuru; It does not count as wearing cool shit when it's involuntary.) Now that we're in Yuki World, Ryoko wants her turn.

Ryoko, what are you doing? Do you have any idea how infantilizing that sounds? You should not have done this in the club room.

Ryoko is trying to keep Kyon away from studying with Yuki but in the process she's expressly excluding Yuki. This is going to hurt her feelings if it keeps up.

The shit raging egomaniacs do whenever attention is not being centered on them. "Oy! I think you've made a mistake. Because your eyes are over there, but my face is over here. I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you that you're looking the wrong direction. And you should correct that."

from what i can tell, in japan, if a series doesn't have something currently going on, it seems like its quickly forgotten about or shelved, in terms of merch.

it is possible to find merch for older series, but it is pretty f**kin' difficult. i found exactly 1 magic knight rayearth figure (thanks kyoto, the GOAT city) and later on, i found an OLD ass figure of ryoko from tenchi in a second hand store. one of my friends asked the store peeps about cowboy bebop stuff and they legit said "its too old" and i dont think i saw a single piece of samurai champloo anything, other than a vinyl record i bought of some of the soundtrack.

its a lot different to here where nostalgia carries a tremendous amount of weight (too much might some say). obviously, newer and seasonal stuff generally has more merch and just stuff in general floating around, but it is absolutely possible to find some older stuff, especially at cons.

like, there was a ton of lum stuff when i went to japan. she was freakin everywhere, but she also just got a reboot. i saw almost ZERO ranma stuff, but i have a feeling thats going to change when the new series actually releases.

Have been struggling with subject matter a lot recently, but I’ve always liked Ryoko’s original design a lot (and it definitely influenced a lot of my early OC designs hahaha), so it was fun to revisit it.
