When you REACT vs. RESPONDING you are completely out of control. You were letting the situation affect you and dictate your mindset and outcomes often and often they're negative and offensive /harmful/regretful. No. 2 - HALT - am I hungry or angry or lonely or tired? Is this why I'm reacting? No. 3- WAITS - am I worried, anxious, stressed, tired or irritable? These often come up because there's a deeper emotion you're not paying attention to or possibly even repressing. ***There's often a deeper issue or concern or need that you are not looking at or not getting met by you or someone else. And, finally, reacting often is an old, broken pattern /program in our brains that stops you from learning or thinking anything beneficial...
