It had to be clear : you did not go to the gym. You had never gone to the gym, nor would you ever go. You had other ways of keeping your body moving and healthy. The gym was not one of them. You didn't hate the gym, per say, it just wasn't for you. But when Kit came over one evening, ran a hand through his hair and offered for you to come with him to his gym and try it out, you couldn't refuse. It had been out of the question for two reasons : you would be spending time with Kit and you would get to see his muscles. In that order specifically.
So you'd packed your things the week after that and you guys had driven down to his gym. You felt slightly nervous, of course, because Kit was ripped and you were- well, you were just you. And you hadn't been to the gym in so long. You gripped his hand before getting out the car. "You'll show me how everything works, right ? What to do and what not to do ? I don't wanna embarrass myself," you bit your lip. Kit chuckled, bringing your hand to his lips and kissing the back of it. "Yes, I'll explain everything and, even though you couldn't embarrass yourself if you tried, I'll make sure you don't." He pressed a short kiss against your lips, soothing your worries for a while. "Don't worry, luv, everything will be fine!"
After changing in the locker rooms and grabbing your towel, you phone, your water-bottle and your headphones, you met Kit in the actual gym. You didn't know much about gyms, but this one certainly looked expensive. It had large windows, smelled clean and had so many different machines. Kit beamed at you, happy so see his favourite person in one of his favourite places. His eyes roamed over you and your tight-fitting sport's attire. God, you looked good. He bent down and gave you a small kiss when you reached him. "I, uh, I thought I'd just show you around," he spoke uncertainly. Now that you were here, he felt kind of stupid for asking you to come with him. You brushed those thoughts away with a smile. "Show me around, darling."
You started with the lat pull-down machine, which you quite liked. It was easy to use and Kit explained it well. "Do you want to try heavier ?" he asked after you did three reps of ten with a weight you were comfortable with. "Yeah, I can give it a try," you smiled. He smiled proudly down at you and reached over you to change the weight. "Good girl," he hummed. You inhaled shakily, licking your lips before sucking your teeth. You blame your bad performance on the first pull-down on that praise. Kit knew this, of course, cheeky bastard, he just loved watching you get flustered.
You struggled through the next reps, but managed with Kit's encouragement. "C'mon, my love, you can do it." "I believe in you, you can take it." "Just one more, dove, then it's over !" Then Kit asked you if you wanted to go heavier. You said yes, of course. You could never say no to him. This time, though, when you went to pull the bar down, it stayed at the top. Your body, on the other hand, lifted up from the seat. Kit muffled his laughter in his fist while you giggled. "Stick your legs beneath the cylinders, luv,"
Now, as much as you loved having Kit explain everything to you and look incredibly good while doing it, what you loved even more was watching him work out. You couldn't think too long and hard about it, not in a place like the gym, but he looked nothing short of godly. His hair, slightly darker because of the sweat would fall into his eyes a bit, and sometimes he'd blow it away. His muscles would swell and go down. And you lived for those times when he'd let out a small huff of effort. It made you think of other times when he let out similar sounds. If you ever joined a gym, it would be this one, and you would know exactly why (spoiler : it wouldn't be to work out).
The next thing was RDLs. Kit had really gifted himself that one. Bottom lip stuck between his teeth, he watched you closely from behind as you bent down slowly before standing back up, keeping your back nice and straight. "Am I doing this right ?" you asked after a rep, "Kit ?" You turned around to find Kit almost entranced, staring at where your ass had been a second ago. His face reddened as you stared expectantly at him. "I, uh, no, that- that looked real good to me, y'know ?" He scratched the back of his neck. You nodded, running your tongue over your teeth as you laughed. "I'm sure it did look real good." Kit rolled his eyes and bumped your shoulder, going to get heavier weights.
You spotted a couple at the other side of the gym doing sit-ups facing each other, only they kissed each time they reached the top. You giggled, discreetly pointing them out to Kit, who bit back a laugh. "That's a bit much, innit ?" he asked quietly, preparing the station for your next and last exercise : hip thrusts. "Nooo," you shook your head, whispering, "you think ?" Kit laughed before slapping the ground next to a small bench. "Sit here," he instructed. He proceeded to explain in detail how to do a hip thrust, how to not hurt yourself while doing one and what its benefits were. He had you at "bigger ass", or "really works the gluteus maximus" as he has said.
You found that exercise pretty easy so Kit was adding weight on pretty soon. Turns out you were really good at hip thrusts. Even Kit was surprised at how much weight you could thrust. You liked doing them, too, they were fun. Kit had his turn after you and, your eyes trained on the section where the bar rested against his body, you were reminded of other situations where he got a similar workout. You fanned yourself, suddenly very warm. Kit finished his set and stood up, coming over to you.
"Y'alright, love ?" he asked, brows slightly furrowed as he stared down at you. He was close and nearly towered over you. "Y-yeah, just a bit hot," you grinned. Kit chuckled and pressed a kiss to your sweaty temple. "Let's go, I want you out of these clothes."
And out of your clothes he got you.

Whether it involved carrying out a soft massage to their legs or backs, aiding with stretches, or similar activities with the purpose of facilitating their recovery, ensuring the were swiftly back on their feet was part of your role.
And truth be told, when a young, attractive woman like yourself interacted closely with young men, some of whom were not in committed relationships, their minds often wandered. And consequently, comments occasionally slipped out, their mouths moving faster than their rational thoughts.
"You know, you can press harder, I can handle it."
"We could continue this session later, when it's more private."
"Your touch is amazing – it's really doing wonders... anything else you're good at?"

For some time now, William had been trying to forge a closer connection with you, seizing any opportunity to get to know you better amidst the limited time available. Yet, despite his efforts, you simply remained a staff member while he was a hockey player under your care. And he wasn't the only one deserving of your attention. Fortunately for William, an opportunity presented itself one evening, and he was determined not to let it slip by. It was a typical Wednesday training session, with a match scheduled for the following day, and during the ice time, he inadvertently made a small movement, aggravating his existing back injury.
While not severe, the coaching staff still insisted on him being checked before the upcoming game. And luckily, you were still at the facilities, having just finished up a report when he entered the medical treatment room.
"Hey y/n," he greeted softly, walking with a slight crook in his step, the pain from his lower back evident.
"Hey William, what's up?" you asked, noticing his discomfort. "Is everything okay?" you inquired, concern evident in your voice.
"Just call me Willy," he smiled. "But um... yeah, I sort of did something... I mean... Kniesy tackled me, and now I can feel it in my back..." he explained with a light chuckle.
"Well, how about you undress a bit, and then we can take a closer look at it?" you suggested with a sweet smile, to which he simply nodded.
"Usually, I take the girls out before they ask me to strip," he cheekily remarked as he began to undress before you.
Raising a brow, you flashed him a grin and a questioning look. "Do you really?"
This was the type of banter that most of the players appreciated about you. You weren't afraid to push boundaries and test their comfort zones.
"Maybe not," William admitted with a chuckle as he stood in front of you, only the physio table separating you, in nothing but his short shorts before you directed him to lie face down.
"Well, at least you admit it," you replied softly, surprising yourself by engaging in a more personal conversation than usual. "Most guys just act like they couldn't care less."
William was slightly taken aback by your candidness. While you'd shared conversations where you got to know each other better, you hadn't delved into deeper opinions before.
"Why wouldn't I care?" William smiled as he shifted his head to the side, meeting your gaze as you stood beside the table. "I mean, she's still a person, right?"
"I don't know, I'm just saying what most guys do," you replied.
"Well, maybe I'm not like most guys," William retorted, his wink adding to his cheekiness.
His comment took you by surprise, causing you to pause for a moment. Though you hadn't exactly considered any of the players as close friends or thought about them in a romantic way, there was something about this Swede that suddenly had you reconsidering.
Was he flirting with you?
No, you dismissed the thought. You were definitely not his type, or any of the players for that matter. After all, you were just there to help maintain their health so they could perform at their best.
Yet, as you thought about it, you couldn't deny that most of the players were indeed attractive. And given that you'd seen most of them in various stages of undress, you knew what they looked like from head to toe.
And you probably couldn't deny the allure of the players. Each had their own charm – some were sweet and kind, while others were more playful and cheekier. Yet, none of them displayed any meanness or cruelty. Even Reaves, who often projected a rough and tough exterior, revealed a tender side when speaking about his family. In fact, most of the players with families exhibited a similar dichotomy. Despite their tough demeanour on the ice, they were remarkably different behind the scenes.
Then there were the younger players, some single, some in relationships, all equally playful and lacking a certain level of maturity. However, you found their antics amusing and entertaining. Perhaps only Woll, the sweetheart of the team, was less inclined towards playful banter, but lively, nonetheless.
And despite your bit of familiarity with these players on a personal level by now, they remained nothing more than the team you were tasked with caring for and supporting as needed.
So, pushing aside any lingering thoughts, you focused your attention on the player's bare back, beginning to apply pressure to his tender muscles to locate the sore spot.
"How's this?" you inquired in your professional tone.
"It's good, but maybe you need to go a bit lower... that's where the pain is worst," William responded, the cheekiness in his voice fading as he sensed your seriousness.
And as you continued to massage his back, applying pressure to different muscle groups before focusing on his lower back, a few minutes passed.
"Here?" you asked, indicating the area.
William nodded lightly, then hesitated, feeling a twinge of awkwardness as he tried to pinpoint the exact location of his discomfort.
"Uh, yes, but..." he cleared his throat. "Maybe even lower..."
You sensed his slight nervousness, understanding what he was hinting at. Yet, you remained professional, knowing exactly how to address his injury and provide appropriate care.
"Willy, are you referring to your sciatic area?" you asked.
"What's that?" he chuckled.
"Well, it's one of the largest nerves in the body, extending from your lower back down each leg," you explained, smiling even though he couldn't see it.
"Oh, so, uh..." he trailed off, unsure how to ask, and you couldn't help but chuckle lightly, maintaining your professional demeanour.
“It means I'll have to massage your glute - as in your bum. It's one of the largest muscles where the nerve runs behind, but it seems like yours is cramping a little, pressing onto the nerve, which causes the pain."
William understood your explanation, and a smirk crossed his face as he imagined your perspective on his ass at that moment.
"Well, I suppose there's nothing else to do but for you to go ahead," he chuckled lightly.
Sensing his slightly cheeky demeanour once again, you aimed to bring the situation back to a professional tone.
"Willy, it's nothing sensual. And believe me, it's probably a lot more painful than pleasant," you reassured him.
"I think I can handle it," he replied with a cocky smile.
"We'll see about that."
And with his understanding, you went ahead and placed your elbow onto his cheek and started to circle it in order to loosen up the cramp muscle.
“Shit!” William exclaimed as he suddenly felt the pain course through his body.
One thing in particular that you’d become known for amongst the players, was that you were rather strong compared to your size. And you didn’t hold back when you knew that their injuries required force. 
“Told you it wasn’t pleasant.” You grinned softly, as you continued to massage his cheek. 
And as more minutes went by, William’s deep grunts only grew more incoherent and out of breath. He was nothing but sore, yet as you released your arm from his body, he felt a newfound release washing over him. As if your massage had healing powers, the pain slowly faded into nothing, and he didn’t feel the twinge in his lower back any longer. 
“Fuck…” he let out a deep sigh as he caught his breath.
“Need a minute, Nylander?” you mocked playfully and flashed him a grin as your eyes met with his.
“Maybe…” he softly admitted, still a little numb from the intense feeling you had caused him. 
“That’s good, that means it’s working.” 
You turned around to remove your latex gloves, and as your turned back, William slowly rose and turned to his side to face you, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over him. Despite the discomfort of the massage, he recognised its necessity and appreciated your expertise.
"Thanks, y/n," he said sincerely, meeting your gaze as you turned back to face him.
"You're welcome, Willy," you replied with a warm smile, appreciating his gratitude.
A moment of silence followed as you both remained still, and the tension of the massage easing away. Then, suddenly, William's expression softened, and he cleared his throat, as if preparing to speak.
"Listen, y/n, I... uh... I just wanted to ask..." he trailed off, his cheeks colouring slightly.
You raised an eyebrow, curious about what he was trying to express. "Yes?" you prompted gently.
But before William could continue, the door to the physio room swung open, and one of the team trainers entered, interrupting the moment.
"Hey, William, everything okay? I heard you were having some trouble with your back," Dean inquired, concern evident in his voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine now, thanks to y/n," William replied, shooting you a grateful look.
Dean nodded, then turned to you with a smile. "Thanks for taking care of him, y/n. We appreciate it." 
You nodded in acknowledgment, though you couldn't hide the slight disappointment you felt at the interruption, before he swiftly left the room again. "Well, for now," you replied with a smile. "But we'll need to keep an eye on you to ensure it doesn't happen again like that. Cramps like these often come back." You found yourself unintentionally delving into the details of the injury, your passion for health and well-being shining through. "And, um... it's good to have someone who understands the injury to provide follow-up care," you concluded, realising you had been speaking more than intended. "Sorry, I'm rambling," you added with a sincere smile.
But William simply chuckled softly, finding your passion endearing as you spoke about the injury. He couldn't tear his gaze away from you, captivated by both your expertise and your beauty. 
"Anyway, we should probably get back," you suggested softly, your friendly smile causing a flutter in William's heart. 
But he didn't want this moment to end, not yet. Summoning his usual confidence, William spoke before he could second-guess himself. "Y/n, do you want to go out with me?" he asked, the words tumbling out faster than he could skate.
You didn't quite catch his words over the echoing noise of the hallways. "Pardon?" you asked, turning to face him, curiosity flickering in your eyes.
Taking a deep breath, William tried again. "I mean, since you've already massaged my ass... I was just thinking... maybe you want to go out with me... sometime?"
His question caught you off guard, leaving you momentarily stunned. Frozen in your position, you struggled to process the unexpected turn of events.
“Willy…” you started, unsure of how to respond. Could you go out with him, a player for the team you worked for? Had you overlooked any contractual restrictions regarding such situations?
Truth be told, you hadn't paid much attention to those details before, as they didn't seem relevant at the time. Yet here you were, faced with an unexpected situation.
As you hesitated, William sensed your uncertainty, a twinge of fear for rejection creeping into his mind. Had he overstepped the boundaries? Perhaps he had misread the signals or been too presumptuous. Chiding himself internally, he realised that charming you and engaging in physical contact were not enough to win your affections. You were different, and he needed to find a way to impress you.
"I mean," he interjected, attempting to ease the tension he had created. "I just know that, uhm, some of the other guys were, you know, thinking about asking you the same... so," he sighed, "Just thought I'd try and beat them to it," he added with a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck.
Your confusion deepened at his explanation, feeling overwhelmed by the revelation. "Oh... wait, what?" you exclaimed, your mind racing at the thought of other players potentially having similar intentions.
You were baffled. Did the players talk about you when you weren’t there?
"You didn't know?" William looked at you, equally surprised, as his teammates hadn’t exactly been subtle in their flirting.
"Well, do I look like someone who knew?" you quipped, attempting to flash a crooked smile, causing William to simply let out a small laugh.
“Come on, they’ve all been flirting with you!” he chuckled.
“They have?”
“Yeah,” he smiled. “Well, now you know.”
You needed a moment to process it all. As you contemplated how to navigate this unexpected revelation, feeling unable to simply ignore it and return to your usual routine, you gazed at the Swede before you.
“But... why?”
Again, William laughed. “What do you mean why? Come on, y/n – you’re good-looking, funny, smart, and most of all, you don’t seem desperate or starstruck whenever you're around us,” he explained.
“Why would I be that?” you simply asked.
“Well, a lot of girls are, I mean, we’re hockey players,” William grinned confidently.
“Oh wow, please work on that self-confidence of yours,” you rolled your eyes as you crossed your arms. “Seriously, I don’t get why women would just throw themselves at your feet… you’re just… humans.”
“Well, they do,” William laughed again, his confident smirk still in place. “But I guess that’s just what we all like about you... that you don’t...”
“Hmm, I suppose I don’t,” you attempted a smile, still uncertain how to react to it all.
There was another moment of silence as the two of you simply stood before each other, your thoughts still swirling. However, as William hadn’t received a clear response, he let out a soft chuckle and decided to press on.
“So, do you?”
“Huh?” you blinked a few times, slowly returning to reality.
“Do you want to go out with me?” he chuckled once more. “Just for a coffee or something?”
He seemed genuinely serious about this, didn’t he? You thought. As you gazed into his deep ocean blue eyes, you couldn’t ignore the unexpected attraction you suddenly felt towards him. It might have been there for a while, but amidst your own musings, you hadn’t paid it much attention.
“Well, wouldn’t it be inappropriate?” you asked softly, still maintaining your professional demeanour despite the stirrings of emotion within you. But William simply shrugged in response.
“I don’t know… I mean, I guess in a way…” he let out a small sigh. “I just didn’t want to miss the chance, you know, in case you did want to…”
Once again, there was a lingering moment in the air. You couldn’t deny the temptation, given that you were, in fact, single, and had been missing a man’s touch ever since you’d focused so much on your internship. But a part of you felt like it would be wrong.
In a way, you worked for William. You couldn’t go out with him. What if it didn’t go well, and he’d hurt you or vice versa? Then it would just be awkward seeing each other every day. Or what if it went too well, but the management wouldn’t approve of it, and both of you would end up being hurt?
Your thoughts raced at a high speed, causing you to lightly gasp for air. Yet, your train of thoughts was interrupted by the door swinging open again and this time Lou entered.
“Oh hey,” he smiled. “You guys all done in here?”
“Yeah sorry, we just chatted,” William explained casually, as you remained frozen in position. “I better go.”
And as he left the room and Lou started to talk to you, you suddenly felt a wave of disappointment wash over you. Watching William leave with your indirect rejection of his proposal suddenly caused you to feel a sense of unease, perhaps making you realise that there was something more to it all.
Then as you realised you hadn’t heard a single word of what Lou had said, you excused yourself and hurriedly followed the Swedish player.
“Hey, Willy,” you called after him, causing him to halt and turn around. Trying to maintain your composure, you met him halfway and flashed him a sweet smile. “I suppose coffee wouldn’t be too bad,” you spoke softly, earning a smile from the taller player.
“Well then, I guess I’ll buy you a cup whenever there’s time,” he chuckled lightly, feeling a sense of relief.
“I’ll look forward to it,” you said with a soft smile, then turned around and forced yourself to refocus on work.
And as you walked away, William couldn’t help but bite his lip as he thought proudly about being the first to ask you out and your positive response. Finally, he could acknowledge all the emotions he’d been feeling for a while, and perhaps, just perhaps, you felt the same for him.

⛪️ | abraham would be incredibly protective over you whenever you have your episodes by him. he doesn’t know a whole lot about chronic illnesses, so it’d scare him; you’d have to explain it to him and sort of walk him through what to do in order for him to be any real help. but once he does know what to do, he’d go a tiny bit overboard with it, nearly to the point of being overbearing. constantly asking about your current state, if you needed water or rest, even disallowing you to go anywhere on your own because he NEEDS to be there in case you need him. he’d be convinced you’d get hurt by someone on your own and appoints himself as your sort of body guard when you do need to leave somewhere. you’d always come to in his arms whenever you faint in his presence.
💪 | valentina absolutely refuses to allow you to work out at the gym. you could hurt yourself real bad if you passed out on or near any of the equipment! she’ll make a special routine comprised mostly of stretching and exercise that doesn’t require equipment so you can still get fit without risking your safety. she’d ensure you make it to every doctor’s appointment on time, take whatever meds you may need, and constantly have food and water at the ready to keep your energy up as much as possible. she’d probably be the best at handling your illness, really — her expertise on fitness and health would tie in very well with her ability to help you and she’d be determined to alleviate your symptoms as best as she could.
🥩 | rhodes would want to keep you locked up all the time. it’d take a lot of willpower for them to not lock you in their room when you faint at their place. they wouldn’t act on their desire to keep you under their watch at all times, but they’d definitely make up lots of reasons to have you stay over so they can be sure you’re safe when you do have an episode. maybe you left your meds at their place, or your aircon mysteriously broke and you need somewhere cool to rest, or maybe they simply asked you to stay with them for a while because they’re worried. they don’t care if they come off as pressuring, your safety comes before anything else.

The Flu
Raihan x Sick! Fem! Reader
You were starting to feel unwell towards the middle of the day. It started with a headache, then a sore throat, and once you and Rillaboom got home was when the body aches hit. Rillaboom caught you as you started stumbling. She took to your bedroom and laid you down on the bed. It was around 6pm when Rahain came home and he was concerned when you did not greet him at the door. He walked into the bedroom and saw you laying there looking very ill with Rillaboom sitting by your side.
"Hello, sweetheart. Would you like me to get you anything?"
You look at him and your face was looking slightly more pale than normal and your nose was red.
“Could you please get me some water and a cough drop?”
He looks at you softly and nods as he leaves. You sit up and Rillaboom reposition your pillows so that you’re more comfortable. Around five minutes later Raihan came back and handed you your water and cough drop. You drank as much water as your body would allow and put the cough drop in your mouth.
“Have you had anything for dinner yet?”
You shake your head no.
“Would you like some soup? I’ll also make you some lemongrass tea as well. Clover would you like to help me?”
Clover looks at him then at you and you smiled weakly at her letting her know that you’d be alright. She moves your hair/gently pats your head before she leaves with Raihan. It takes about an hour for them to come back with the soup and lemongrass tea.
“Clover you can go rest. I’ll look after her while you sleep.”
Clover gently hugs you good night and goes to her room and sleeps. Raihan starts feeding you the soup and makes sure that you drink the tea.
“Thank you, Raihan.”
“You’re welcome. Tomorrow I’ll take you to the doctors and I’ll take off of work for as long as I need to. Just so that Clover doesn’t get overwhelmed and overworked.”
You nod and smile at him knowing that there was no use in arguing with him.
~The next day~
You were diagnosed with a severe case of the flu. It won’t kill you, but Raihan has to wear special protective equipment when he’s in your room. It won’t infect Clover but she does sleep outside your bedroom door. The doctor estimated that it would probably take a month until your body gets rid of the virus. The other gym leaders understood the situation. Bea and Gordie decided to take turns running Raihans gym while he takes care of you.
~A month later~
Your body finally got rid of the virus. Raihan is currently disinfecting everything in your room for the final time today.
“Raihan, you know that you can go back to work, right?”
He sighs and looks at you and Clover laying in bed.
“I know. I’ll let Leon, Bea, and Gordie know that I’m willing to return to work next week.”
You close the book that you and Clover were reading.
“Why? My body is healthy now.”
“But what if you need me? I can’t stand to think that my Blossom would need me and I’m not here because I’m at work.”
You smile at the nickname. You get up, walk over to him and cup his face with your hands.
“Raihan. My Dragon King. I’ll be alright. I’ll have Clover. If I need to call anyone and I don’t have my phone and I can’t get to the house phone I’ll have Sterling (Meowth) make the call.”
He smiles warmly at you and kisses your lips. Clover ends up finishing disinfecting everything since you and Raihan ended up on the bed and fell asleep cuddling.
~Epilogue~
When Raihan went back to work Bea and Gordie were relieved. Bea runs up to Raihan and hugs him.
“Thank goodness you’re back. There were fans who were pissed that you weren’t here.”
Bea releases Raihan from her bone crushing hug. Raihan looks at Gordie.
“A few of them ended up making me cry. I honestly hate admitting that.”

I GUESS I'M SLOW BUT SLOW AND STEADY STILL WINS SO I'M TRYING NOT TO BEAT MYSELF UP OVER IT
SLOW IN THE SENSE OF NOT ONLY AS A STUDENT OF MEDICINE BUT ALSO A STUDENT OF #LIFE LMFAO
HERE ARE MY TIME SAVING, JOY SPARKING WELLNESS LESSONS/REMINDERS FOR MYSELF AT THIS TIME THAT I WANTED TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE:
I cannot express how LAUGHABLE of a venture it was to expect myself to ever reasonably keep up with essentially a 6 days/week workout routine in the midst of the biggest life transition I'm experiencing thus far. This semester we are focusing on fitting in a 1 hour session only 2-3x/week, that hits both strength training AND cardio - the name of the game is efficiency!!! Aerobic, weight-bearing, heart-rate elevating, fat-burning, full body, FUNCTIONAL, ATHLETIC. I'm accepting that certain other goals (e.g. flexibility) will have to take a backseat for the time being. It's looking like a lot of HIIT, double compounds (e.g. squat to shoulder press), minimal equipment ->
I'm done with waiting in lines for popular machines!!! WHO HAS THE TIME!!! I've also learned the value of simplifying your needs as much as possible the so that your ability to stay consistent with your workouts is not limited to exclusive, fancy equipment that ties you down to a particular studio/gym e.g. kind of a meme but I got so used to the hip thrust machine at my giant suburban gym just to basically never see it again. I PRAY for the day I am able to rely on body weight calisthenics alone, but until then, there's so much magic in a bare-bones bench + dumbbells gym, and almost everywhere you go will have that
on that note, a lot of solidcore moves can be done with sliding discs, youre welcome
for the first time in an extremely long time, one of my primary goals this time around is actually weight loss - there's a whole lot more I can say about this but for now, one of the primary reasons is the fact that I will be in Korea for the first time ever this summer ifykyk lol. but starvation is never the means nor the ends, especially given how much GLUCOSE my brain requires during these long days. I'm approaching this as a fun challenge to see how I can be the most efficient (time and money) with my fuel

the biggest revelation = The Only Bean Edamame Beans, they have a 11g protein :110cal ratio (same ratio as those pure protein bars) and go down wayyy better bc it's real food and not processed powder (I'm still learning to tolerate protein powder). They come individually packed too so SO good for on the go!!!!
I've been liking TJ's flavored cashews too - not the best macro profile (like all nuts) but are so easy to pack for a study session and don't go bad quickly
MEDJOOL DATES every once in a while i remember again that nuggets of heaven exist and are so filling so quickly

bonus list of things that help me motivate to exercise!!
-sticking to a consistent workout timeslot – this way I don’t have to worry abt when to fit it into the day. this is tailored to me, 4-6pm is when I have the most energy + im normally done with any other tasks, I also like exercising just before a main meal bc I get hungry after (and I can’t exercise for 2-3 hours after eating a meal bc I get cramps…). im unemployed atm tho so thisll probably change once I get a job lol
-keeping it flexible – consistency is more important than intensity but theres no point in having a rigid routine if the whole thing blows up bc I missed a single day. working out ‘intuitively’ works best for me for this reason – I don’t feel bad taking the day off when I need it bc I can pick up my routine again whenever I’m ready to
-working out in a way I enjoy and that works for my body – sounds obvious but its rly hard to motivate urself to do any kind of exercise that doesnt feel good for u specifically. I suck at running for example bc I don't find it mentally stimulating enough to stop myself getting distracted and I find it REALLY uncomfortable so I can’t stick with it. taking no commitment classes/taster sessions is a good way of figuring out what you like, depends on where u live etc but I've found tons of friendly local queer sports spaces which rly encouraged me. lots of youtube videos out there too!
-similarly I wear gym clothes I like + feel comfortable in, make sure I eat well earlier in the day and after (fuel up!!) + don’t work out if I haven’t slept well enough the night before. nothing puts me off a routine faster than feeling like I have to suffer for it – negative reinforcement neverrr works. also I find eating regularly/getting enough sleep gets easier for me the more consistent I am with my workout routine so it encourages me to keep at it 💪
-figure out where the friction is and reduce it – for me, going to a gym daily isn’t realistic bc there are too many steps between deciding I want to exercise + doing it (packing a bag, leaving the house, travelling there, checking in, changing, if its busy then waiting for equipment…etc) which is why I work out at home 80% of the time cuz all I have to do is get changed + roll out my yoga mat. the easier it is to start, the easier it is to commit to a routine + resist the urge to give up.
-having an ‘on-ramp’, i.e., a small movement in the right direction to get me to actually Start a task. some days working out feels too daunting or I can’t be bothered but I’ll just go fill up my water bottle. and then I’ll get back to my room and I might as well put my gym shorts on. and then since I’m in the right clothes I can at least do a couple minutes of warmup stretches… etc like just thinking abt it one step at a time.
-rewarding myself – my little treat after every single workout is getting my protein milkshake + a shower + flexing in the mirror when I’m done. some days most of my motivation comes from that alone.. tricking ur brain to associate exercise w a reward + praise rly rly helps especially if ur like me and don’t rly get an endorphin ‘high’ from working out (<- adhd thing I think). never EVER skip the little treat even if u feel like u didn’t work out very hard or spent less time or whatever!! very important. maybe this should’ve been higher up in the list
-keeping myself mentally engaged – adhd makes focusing a bitch. listening to music/podcasts/audiobooks is ESSENTIAL for me to not get distracted. the time I think most abt quitting a workout is inbetween sets so sometimes if its dire I’ll give myself extra tasks e.g., sometimes I leave unsorted laundry on my bed and race to fold as many tshirts as I can in the 20 seconds before I start the next set, or leave a book open so I can read a quick sentence or 2. during isometric holds (like wall sits, planks) I like to do mental math or try to recite song lyrics or poetry bc I haaaate keeping so still and if I think about that too much I’ll give up !! be creative w it
-being held accountable – I sometimes do sports socially, but when I do home workouts it helps to tell a friend or mention on tumblr that im gonna go exercise cuz then I feel like I’ve already committed to it + I have to keep my word! it also helps me to have a couple "role models" in mind when im flagging a bit, either athletes in sports I like or just ppl I admire a lot, or even physically strong/capable fictional characters (cringe ik but it works so) – just anyone who inspires u!!

sorry if this is odd to ask but what is your workout routine? I’m trying to motivate myself into exercise again and seeing how other people do it helps. Have a good one!
meant to reply to this sooner but I forgor… getting round 2 it now tho! disclaimer I dunno as much abt exercise science as I’d like to + don’t rly have any 'training' so my approach just comes from personal experience - take this w a pinch of salt lol. I’ll split it in 2 parts: my routine first + then a list of things that personally motivate me in a reblog in case u find any of that useful >:-) (under the readmore cuz this ended up being kind of long 👇)
ok so: I try to ‘actively’ work out 5 days a week. this tends to be broken into 1-2 longer full-body sessions (around 60-120 mins long, at the mo usually bouldering/parkour or a full-body home workout) with a rest day before/after + then 3-4 shorter home workouts (30-60 mins long, usually some form of weight/resistance training, targeting specific muscle groups). e.g. a fortnightly workout timetable might look smth like this for me:

I don’t tend to plan specific workouts more than a few days in advance so I don’t actually follow an explicit timetable like this. instead I set aside an ‘exercise timeslot’ every day (usually 4-6pm) and I’ll intuitively decide how to work out on the day – i.e., what part of my body feels ready to go? what part feels tired + needs a break? do I have the energy/focus to do 45 mins or do I need to shorten it to 30? do i need a rest day? working out regularly means I have a good sense of how long I need for certain muscles to recover so if there’s an activity I want to do on a specific day (like a sports club I wanna attend) I’ll keep it in mind and plan accordingly so I’m fresh for that. as a rule of thumb, I avoid working the same muscle group on consecutive days + give myself a full rest day before & after any intensive full-body workout. I also try to never take more than 3 back-to-back rest days unless I’m sick/on my period/life gets in the way – otherwise its very easy for me to fall out of routine even if I’ve maintained it for months beforehand (<- adhd ass)
(also worth noting – my ‘rest days’ aren’t completely ‘inactive’ – I’ll go for a walk or do some stretches/yoga or another gentle activity instead. I need a lot of physical movement in my life or I go stir crazy <- adhd ass strikes again)
my ‘home workouts’ are the sort of movements u can do at a gym with the equipment there, but I replicate them with a yoga mat + my own weights + a sturdy chair. I have 6kg & 10kg pairs of dumbbells, plus yoga blocks + resistance bands for extra challenge. most of my workouts are based on resistance/interval training, which is focused on increasing strength by repeating sets of movements/holds at a consistent intensity/pace for specific lengths of time, with short timed rest periods in-between (e.g., a typical workout might look like 45 mins of 45 movements targeting 1-2 muscle groups, each done for 40 seconds followed by a 20 second break before immediately moving onto the next).  I like it bc I can rly feel the progress I make + find it satisfyingly challenging (<-masochist) but also bc its easy to tailor to my own ability/how much energy I have that day etc by changing weights/pace. it also works with my adhd brain bc I only have to do each movement for 40-50 seconds at a time before moving on to smth else so I don’t get as easily distracted (as opposed to doing like xyz number of reps for xyz sets). if you’re interested, I swear by caroline girvan – I’ve done her EPIC programmes a few times now + often cherrypick from her videos when I want to work certain muscle groups without sitting down + compiling a list of individual exercises + setting a timer myself. the ‘EPIC beginner’ series is a great intro to her longer ones, I sometimes use that to ease myself back into working out if I haven’t for a while, but be warned it isn’t aimed at ppl who are completely new to that style of exercise. I think she has an app now that comes with an ‘absolute beginner’ version + a 14 day free trial(?) so might be worth checking that out. I will admit some of her stuff is TOUGH - I still can't do all of them w the same weights/pace she does... I particularly struggled with wrist strength when I started out too and had to do some separate conditioning/strengthening exercises before I could even work up to doing like. a single push up on my knees... so if u do check her out try not to get put off by how crazy strong she is bc thats literally her career skfjkj the important thing is just doing it to the best of ur own ability/to ur point of hypertension + keeping good form throughout!!
full body home workouts are pretty much more of the same just longer since I'm hitting more muscles (i.e. 60-90 mins) + sometimes with cardio elements (altho I can’t do HIIT workouts involving jumping at home bc I’m a respectful upstairs neighbour 😔). If I go to the bouldering gym (I try to go fortnightly atm) I’ll usually spend ~2 hours, focusing on trying to send one route at a time until my arms give out. im currently getting confident with V2 grades and tentatively working on V3s. its probs my fave sport, there's a level of problem solving to it that I find rly mentally stimulating... even tho I boulder solo, trips to the gym are social for me bc I often end up chatting to ppl working on nearby problems + picking up technique/advice from them, its a v welcoming space (I'm also planning on joining my new city's queer climbing group!). the parkour sessions I go to are also social, they're run locally for free around the city + structured by more experienced members in the community. they usually involve a warmup, conditioning, drills focusing on certain movements/jumps etc, and then free 'play' trying to put those moves into context. again ~2 hours long. im def not a pro at climbing or parkour but theyre super fun + would 100% rec if ur interested + can find a friendly local group for either, u can teach urself using online resources too :-)
goes without saying but I also warm up for at least 5 mins before doing ANYTHING!!! I try to cater it to the muscle group im planning on working with but still cover the whole body cuz its important to get ur heart rate up + even when u focus on one muscle group there will be others that get dragged in. I don't rly have a 'set' warmup but again caroline girvan has some good ones on her channel 👍 likewise always good to cool down after with stretches cuz future me will be grateful for it.. altho sometimes I'm a bit lazy abt it 🤭

• idk ab other schools’ guards but literally my whole guard is fruity

• you’ve been friends with peter for a while, and he had called you in a panic when he got bitten by the spider at oscorp.
• aka, you had to help him make the first spider-man suit. neither of you could really sew and you honestly want to forget about the shabby costume.
• you convinced him to join marching band, even if he did choose saxophone (slightly to your dismay, you’d love to see him in guard, or god forbid, drumline).
• band camp nearly killed that boy, leading to you making many jokes about how, even after gaining superpowers, he was still laying on the field dying after a run-through.

• going batshit for a ziploc bag half full of grapes
• breaking multiple lights in the gym because ‘oops didn’t think i could toss that high’
• trying a trick toss at practice and everyone going crazy when you catch
• showing off when another school group walks by (our track team practices at the same time and close by)
• cutting ur freaking hand open with the saber because the tape is too scratchy
• honestly f saber line it’s literally just pinch pinch like bitch i’m not a crab
• we get m&ms instead of trophies for the winter competitions, so literally going feral for the family size bag
• wind and flag work🤮
• exchanges looking sexy as hell. i have a duet suicide (a double exchange) with a friend this season and i nearly kill him every time but the crowd likes it sooo
• crying because your rifle has a crack but buying a new one and adjusting to the weight is a shit time
• fighting the winds bc 90% of ours are racist or homophobic 🙄 literally don’t associate w them

• our band does separate breakfasts for each section the morning of the first comp, and we exchange gifts.
• no matter how much you complain, staying for your friends who are more like family

• peter asking you out at a competition and sneaking to sit with him on the bus

• him being buff and being able to lift you with ease, leading to partner choreo
• packing snacks for each other bc couples that steal each other’s food stay together

this man knows how to cook, change my mind. he's probably had to take care of himself after daiya passed, so he had to learn how to cook or else he would've been eating fast food for every meal.
also knows how to make smoothies for you since he's had to make them ever since he started working out. just name any fruit you like and he'll find a way to make a great tasting drink.
his favorite thing to cook for you is anything that isn't sweets. he may be able to cook food but he can't bake to save his life. one time you came home to see your oven almost exploded because mondo couldn't figure out temperatures.
you know that really typical thing when a muscular man is doing push ups and they ask their s/o to go on his back to put some weight on it? that happens every time you're at his house when he's working out.
he has a whole gym in one room of his house, and he sometimes makes you work out with him. whether its something like cardio, or weights, he has the equipment for it.
do any of you remember when bakugo from bnha canonically slept at around 8pm? that's also mondo. he sleeps at a surprisingly early and healthy time, and no one expects it. he even encourages you to sleep healthy too.
he has to wake up really early to do his hair, so in the morning you'll hear him cursing to himself as he tries to style his hair perfectly. it has waken you up a few times during the early morning, but it makes for some very funny conversations.
his body has this habit of hugging you in your sleep. since he almost always sleeps earlier than you, when you're in the middle of using your phone at 11 pm, you can feel his arms wrap around you as he continues to sleep, its like muscle memory for him to cuddle up to you.
every other day he comes home with a dog and asks you if you two can keep it. you love the dogs as well, but you really can't have 14 puppies roaming around your guys' dorm, its already chaotic enough with taka, chihiro and leon constantly visiting.
its really funny to see him play games like minecraft and genshin impact with the rest of his friend group. everytime he dies, he gets very loud. it makes you laugh, and later you have to baby him because he doesn't feel so great after leon and yasuhiro laughed at him for killing his character for the 20th time. it does give you two the best cuddle sessions, though.
is just a very sweet and caring s/o. he doesn't seem like it at first sight, but he treats you so well. he knows that you're amazing and should be treated as such.

you two are practically helpless when it comes to eating togther. you guys either have to get take out or ask your friends to cook for you two, hajime doesn't know how to cook (well, he can, but it won't taste that great.) and if you dont know how to either, then you're both screwed.
he does follow whatever you say, though. any time that you comment on a habit of his that you want him to change, leaving certain things out, forgetting to put stuff back, etc. etc... he'll immediately get rid of that routine, just say the word.
the man may not know how to cook, but he knows how to do every other chore. hajime's not the best at any of it, but he's definitely trying! his mom probably taught him how to do basic chores so he could atleast handle himself decently if he ever lived alone.
lets you take all the blankets, and never dares to wake you up. the guilty feeling of waking up a sleeping dog or cat is exactly what he feels when he accidentally woke you up once. would rather stay cold and tell his bladder to deal with it than to even dare waking you up.
he's one of those people that really likes to go furniture shopping. you probably have a few unusual decorations because hajime thought they looked cool and decided to buy them.
boardgames!! you and him get so competitive when playing monopoly or uno, and you two play it so often that people in the other dorm question if you're having a fight, when in reality you're having a petty argument about the rule for the parking lot slot.
goes to sleep at the normal 11pm, and wakes up at around 5-6am, very regular. what isn't regular though, is his eating schedule. there are times when he somehow forgets to eat breakfast and lunch.
plays animal crossing with chiaki. his island is also pretty standard, but he did draw a small replication of an actual photo that you both took before. its on a canvas in his island. he shows this to you immedaitely, then later to any of his friends that join his game.
doesn't know much about housing issues and bills, so he sort of just lets you handle it. he'll give his share, but he'll make you pay it to the bank. to compensate for this, he does every household chore for you.
is a pretty standard boyfriend roommate. very kind and respectful of your space, and doesn't try to disturb you as much. overall, 10/10.

the most fun roommate. sure, you two are eating very unhealthy food everyday, and your sleeping schedules are probably a wreck, but he's such an interesting person to have as an s/o.
sleep? whats that? all you two know is staying up until 4am to rewatch a really old show that you both remembered from your childhood, for the nostalgia.
he likes white noise, so you're almost always consuming media with him. when you two are eating breakfast, you're also choke laughing at an episode of a sitcom show that he found while scrolling.
will not leave you alone, ever. but thats meant to be in a good way! don't worry. he'll just follow you around the house sometimes, especially when he just woke up. its like a baby cub following their parent around because they don't know what else to do.
is on autopilot until he has breakfast, so until then he'll just say very short and tired sentences to you as he follows you around. will also hug you during this time since he's still tired and wants to lean onto something.
theres never a moment of silence when you get together with him. he can and will talk at every given moment, but its always something funny or interesting.
collects dinosaur toys, colorful and unique pens, as well as really funny notebooks that have a weird cover. he has a bunch of these collected, and its always a delight to see him so happy whenever you two are walking by a store and he sees a funny looking dinosaur.
does not know how to cook or clean, so he just hires somebody else to do it. if its either from the app, or one of the ultimates in the school, he'll find some way to make others do it. he's not about to create another dangerous chemical mixture while he's trying to clean the toilet.
while mondo can cook and not bake, he can't cook but he can bake! often makes you cupcakes with your favorite filling inside them and your favorite color as the decorations. maki and kaede most likely taught him how to make these, out of force.
has this journal where he writes everything he feels, and you're often mentioned in it. you accidentally found it while you were looking through his clothes, and while you did read it, you'd never tell him that. you do think its cute that he wrote something like that about you, though.
would be extremely bored and extremely cursed if he lived alone, so he's really thankful that you're there to help him and be the best s/o ever. appreciates you very much, and he shows this by baking you things. genuinely loves you so much, and could not imagine his life without you.

Sliding in to ask what ur workout routine is like 👀 if u wanna share. I'm interested in starting but kind of lost, some of the resources online kind of get confusing,,,but no pressure! U can delete this if u want!
im sorry i got very long winded and vague, talking more about theory than an actual regime hwhwhwhw also disclaimer that i am not a professional in any manner so there might be inaccuracies in what i say that im not aware of...
Prefacing this by saying I go to gym with a few other people as a group under a coach. So the routine isn't fixed - we do different exercises p much every time. But it's twice a week - once for full-body with some cardio and once for extremities - one week we do legs and the next arms. Of course doing smth with a coach is different from doing smth by yourself - there's a lot more pressure and a lot less guidance. If you can afford it / if it is plausible, i would suggest a coach even if its a couple of times (they can help you set up a routine taking goals into account) but of course for many people it is not a possibility.
I understand how it can be really confusing looking at information online, especially if you don't know much about exercise or anatomy. (As a med student, anatomy knowledge and which muscles are involved in which actions has helped me a lot when it comes to exercise.)
If I may impress into you one concept - when you look up any exercise, I want you to know what muscle groups you're supposed to be using, and when you do that exercise, you have to pay attention that you are doing the motion correctly so that u are using the muscle group u are supposed to. It sounds simple enough, but the body - it wants shortcuts, it wants to make the motion easier for itself. It will do the motion wrong if you are not paying attention. And if you do it wrong - best case is you use different muscles, worst case is you damage something and hurt yourself.
Exercise isn't supposed to hurt!! If a motion hurts you, it might be too difficult for you, and you need to do something simpler / with less weight.
Another thing I want to say is - most people at the gym have no idea what they're doing. Like, our coach says it all the time - a good 70% of the people are going the exercises wrong. Form matters, and it matters extremely if you do anything with big weights (i would not suggest trying a deadlift without a firm grasp of form or you would throw your back out, for instance)
But starting to go to the gym might be scary. And there are exercise you can do at home by yourself, using your own body weight or some simple equipment.
If systematising makes things easier for you, I will break down the three major parts of the body when we talk about exercise (i am open to more questions regarding these groups if you have them but i will put in some resources i like later on as well):
Arms: shoulder (this is v important, since its a relatively unstable joint and there are many exercises specifically to strengthen the rotator cuff which you should not ignore if you ever want to build up your upper body), arm (biceps, triceps), forearm (most so called 'grip' exercises are for forearm and its necesary to have a good grip if you ever wanna lift weights otherwise your hands will bail out when the rest of ur body could still lift it)
Legs: glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, knee (another finicky joint!! easy to damage and a bitch once you've fucked it up. typically u can build up knee strength with different kind of squats), calves.
Torso/Core: abs (rectal abdominal muscles are what most people think, but the abdominal wall has a ton of muscles making it up!! you also have to use the oblique abdominal muscles and the transverse abdominal muscles! think like. russian twists and planking on the side not just crunches), pectorals, back (there are sooo many muscles in the back by the way. like the trapezoids, the latissimus, the erector spinae, not to mention all the muscles that start in the back and go to the extremitie)
...So, like you get that you should not focus on any particular thing exclusively but rather try and utilise everything. Because there is so much and it all connects!! If you want to make a routine for any particular segment of your body, you ought to know what makes that part up and add in exercises so that you get some action in most, if not all, the muscle groups!
But remember not to go too hard - pushing yourself beyond your limits might seem like a good idea at the start but it will make you hate exercise and you will not build up a habit.
As for resources - I would like to dissuage you from using resources made for bodybuilders specifically (that's professional exercise. unless you want to revolve your entire life around the gym it really isnt worth it and might do you harm). On the other hand - physical therapists or professional coaches might have more worthwhile stuff to say. Though not every one. My general approach would be - the more rigidly they talk about exercise, the less inclined I would be to listen. You need to listen to people who acknowledge individual limits and beginner-level exercise.
I had a youtube channel i was looking at when i had some joint pains. It's called Athlean-X and i liked it because the guy is a physical therapist and explains the moves very clearly, often with like an anatomical dummy. Been a while since I watched anything but it's stuck in my memory as an okay resource to look at.
And another that has shown up in my attention fairly recently is hybridcalisthenics (they're also on tumblr and tiktok under the same name btw) and the videos show a really nice progression of exercises increasing in difficulty so it's great for starting and plotting out a solid goal! I also love the way Hampton talks about exercise - it seems to me like a really healthy, non-judgemental approach, acknowledging how long it takes to build up before you can progress to harder movements.
These two to me seem like good starting points but if you want I can help hunt down more! Or if you still don't quite know which direction to approach exercise from feel free to shoot me a dm and I will try and help you out :D

"I thought I might find you here." Her voice is soft as she speaks, but the sound is enough to startle him from his thoughts, the boxer's head snapping round in surprise.
At the sight of (Y/n) standing just there, where Mickey used to stand, Rocky feels another wave of mind-numbing grief wash over him, but he doesn't show it, just ignores it and beats it down, as he's always tried to do.
"Didn't know where else to go." He murmurs, allowing his head to turn back to its original position, falling to his chest as he pulls and rubs at his hands.
(Y/n) doesn't reply, only comes to sit beside him, not quite touching him, but not quite out of his personal space. As always, her presence is reassuring, the silent sympathy in her demeanour flooding across the wordless connection they share, calming him a little, though he's too tense to relax properly. Rocky knows she can feel his tension, though he doesn't want her to, but he can't seem to hide it; the urge to hit something is there, strong as ever, but he knows he has to suppress the need.
Vaguely, he wonders about asking (Y/n) to spar, having boxed with her many times before, but he pushes the idea to the side almost immediately. In this state, he has no idea how far he'll go, and he doesn't want to hurt her in any way.
A stifled sniff pulls out of his nose as he drops his head further, his muscles taut and uncomfortable from their position, his eyes burning. In doing do, he only just misses it as (Y/n) stands up, turning to face him with a hand outstretched.
"Come on, Rocky." She coaxes, face unsmiling with warm eyes, waiting patiently for him to join her.
Sluggishly, he lifts his head to look at her, frowning.
"What?" Is all he manages, confused.
"Come on, I know what will help." She informs him, wriggling her fingers at him as encouragement.
Warily, Rocky takes her hand, letting her pull him up onto his feet, steadying him as he sways a little, disoriented after sitting down for so long. Having done so, (Y/n) tells him to wait a minute, before she quickly heads over to an equipment cupboard at the far end of the gym, rummaging through it. Returning to him, Rocky can now see she's brought a pair of boxing gloves and some training gloves, slinging him the former as she tugs the latter onto her hands. Puzzled, the boxer catches the gloves and looks up at his friend.
"What's all this about?" He questions, holding the gloves sceptically.
"Put them on," She orders him, backing further into the room, adjusting her own glives as she goes, bouncing on the balls of her feet, "And come beat the hell out of me."
Rocky frowns.
"I'm not gonna do that, (Y/n)." He refuses, shaking his head.
"Yeah, you are." She encourages, dead serious.
"I'm not-"
"Yes, you are, Rocky, because you've got a tonne of emotion you've gotta get out of your system, and the best way you're gonna do that is by fighting, because you're a fighter." She commands him, sounding firm, "Now, I'm not gonna argue this anymore, you either come here and beat the hell outta me, or you stay there and feel like shit after."
Taken aback, Rocky blinks in shock, surprised by the vehemence behind her words, her eyes blazing now as she stares hard at him. It takes a moment, but eventually he recovers enough to pull his gloved on, taking his coat off first before he slowly moves into lsotjon in front of (Y/n).
"Now come on, hit me!" She demands, holding her hands up by her face.
The first punch is half-hearted, still not convinced by this whole thing even as (Y/n) gives him a disappointed look. The second is a little harder, but still nowhere near what it normally is.
"What're you doing, Rocky? I asked you to hit me, not fist bump me." She goads him, steadying herself, "Now come on! Punch like you mean it!"
Soon, the punches start to fly with much more speed and power, sending (Y/n) reeling back a couple of times from the impact, though she never tells him to back down. Instead, she constantly galvanises him, telling him to hit harder, to put everything he has into it, meeting him blow for blow, her voice soon driving him to throw the hardest punch of the night, his body weight put behind it as his fist connects with (Y/n)'s gloved hand.
She staggers a little, though Rocky stumbles more, the fight suddenly going out of him as his emotions finally come to a head, crashing over the barrier he created to stop it. Instantly, the wave of grief and anger is overwhelming, a strangled sob of pain escaping him as he hunches over, lifting his hands to his face, tears threatening to spill. (Y/n) is there immediately, helping him out of his gloves in time for him to collapse onto her, arms wrapping around her body and pulling her into him, face buried into her shoulder.
Murmuring soothingly to him, she rubs his back, pressing her face into his hair in a gesture she knows he's always found comforting, taking his weight as he sobs I to her body. His grip is tight on her, each laboured breath shaking them considerably even as he scrambles to keep his hold on her. Letting him cry, (Y/n) can't help the burst of sorrow for the boxer as he balls his eyes out into her shirt, her best friend leaning on her for support, holding on as if she is his lifeline.
Rocky finds (Y/n)'s closeness reassuring, taking comfort in the soft warmth of her body in his cold arms, breathing in her familiar smell as he feels his sobs starting to give out to wrap sniffling. The emotional tidal wave has thankfully passed, leaving a wake of loneliness and guilt behind, as well as a need to be close to the people he cares about.
It's around five minutes after he stops that (Y/n) pulls back ever so slightly, looking up into his bloodshot eyes.
"Any better?" She asks softly, regarding his dishevelled features.
Unable to speak for once, Rocky just nods, trying to find his voice again.
"Good." She smiles at him, the expression warming his heart, "Lets get you home to Adrian."
Again, he just nods, more thankful than ever that he has her in his life.
"Thank you." He mumbles, eyes downturned.
"Anytime, Rocky."

Your matchup is: Semi Eita
How you met: You’re working part time as a bartender at a place where Semi regularly performs with his band. He probably does 2-3 shows per month, and you come in early before the night starts to set up the bar, so the two of you end up talking because it’s only the two of you in the bar until opening. You’re working on finishing up your college degree and Semi just graduated and started his job as a civil servant. The two of you strike up easy conversation whenever he’s setting up for the night, and by now you know his regular drink and have it ready for him after he and the band finish their set. Your first date: I feel like Semi is the kind of guy who will play things by ear for a while - and figure out if you’re interested or not. Probably acts all chill/suave and is like “hey do you want to go out with me?” once you finish locking up the bar. For your first date, probably a nice dinner befor hand followed by a movie. I feel like Semi is a sucker for classic date ideas. Ooo but he’d probably take you to a drive in movie theatre - probably in a pickup truck. He packs several blankets, pillows + snacks so the two of you can lie in the bed of the truck watching the movie in peace. Lots and lots of cuddling during said movie.
Your first kiss: Ahhh it’s so romantic bc it also happens on your first date. The credits are rolling and people are slowly starting to pack up their stuff but you and Semi just sit there, kind of leaning on each other and enjoying each other’s presence. Slowly the lights + the projector turn off and it’s just the two of you and the stars. Mayhaps there is (coincidentally) a shooting star or meteor shower as you cup his cheek to bring his face closer to yours. I just imagine after the first time your lips touch Semi can’t get enough and pulls you closer, dragging you into his lab where the two of you continue to make out for quite a bit before packing things up and driving back to the city. When he drops you off at your place late at night he pulls you into another long and fierce kiss before you get out of the car. 
Anniversary: I feel like Semi would get you two matching/paired leather jackets - custom made/comissioned with some elaborate embroidery. They wouldn’t be identical, but the designs would be similar or centered around a similar theme - maybe the same flower/object embroidered but with slightly different designs that represent your individual quirks and personalities - your jacket might have symbols related to astrology, have some laces/ties whereas semi’s might have some references to his band + volleyball. I feel like you might get creative and maybe getting some custom jewelry for the two of you - some rings, studs, earrings, etc. For the day of the anniversary itself - the two of you have a lazy day at home - maybe a jam session or karaoke session where Semi plays the guitar + binge watching marvel movies or something. 
How they propose: Probably after you graduate from university. What your wedding looks like: Definitely on the smaller side - Semi is a private person and invites a small group of people that he genuinely cares about + really values to the wedding. I feel like both of you have kind of a punk + modern aesthetic, so I feel like your wedding might also reflect that - I’m thinking you’ll probably find a gothic style chapel (architecture wise) to get married in bc it matches your aesthetic, but also the decorations would be super sleek + modern. As part of your reception Semi sings you a song + your first dance is to the recording of the song he sang when he proposed. I think Ushijima and Tendou tag team the best men toast and Semi probably yells at Tendou to stop calling him “semi semi” but also Tendou comes in clutch by providing desserts/chocolate for your wedding. 
Newlywed/domestic hc: You and Semi buy a house together, mainly because you convert one of the larger bedrooms into a creative studio/haven of sorts. It’s soundproof so Semi can jam inside and also has a bunch of production equipment but it’s also sort of cozy - with fairy lights, bean bags and a lot of throw pillows + blankets. Also there’s a lot of cupboards of stuff that you use for your artistic/creative projects. Also I feel like you and Semi would enjoy couple workouts - maybe every weekend on Saturday morning you’ll clear out your living room and lay out some yoga mats + weights and follow a workout video together.

Wanna be a Game Character?
And now, who's up for a physical torture??
Inspired from Saitama's 100 days challenge, since this will only be for ' 7 ' weeks only, Im gonna name this workout challenge as "TIFA LOCKHART WORKOUT".

I like Lightning Farron more, but she has a God-like power. While Tifa is an ordinary girl who train her body to be in the same level as the hero. So I use her name for this workout. Besides, I want to have what she has - the agility, power and speed.
I.. Have.. No.. Idea.. My weight .. Has .. Increased.. A lot 😂😂😂 no wonder why I feel my body is heavier than usual. I didnt train a muscle during the quarantine and the last time I trained seriously with my coach was in January and then my intern shift interrupted most of my training seasons.
I got scolded by my coach for being weak and unmotivated today 😂😂 and today was be the last time I saw him bfore moving 500km away from my hometown bcause of this intern for 7 weeks. I need to get back to my usual figure before meeting him again.
Disclaimer : I'm not a coach nor someone who has knowledge in nutrition. I once used this method to reduce 8 kg in a very short amount of time for my sparring tournament and it worked (but previously the workout was a lot more intense than this). And my weight maintained for several years, not until my sleeping schedule got crazy from the past 6 months and I have to stay indoors 24hrs and eat midnight snacks almost everyday and 0 hrs of exercise for 3 months straight.
Hah-hah.
★Tifa Lockhart Workout★

Tifa has light build, superb strength, slim but fit figure, high agility and speed. She has abs but not the 6 pack type and her female appeal still maintained. A body where lots of women admire. While genetic does play a huge role in a person's body, but I believe Tifa does not have restricted diet but still train herself intensely. This workout should be light and easy to follow (well at least for me it is easy).
So, overall, the main objective is to regain power and speed. Which I assume I can achieve this by loosing weight and increase muscle endurance through out the 7 weeks self train. I will focus more on full body workout which involves cardio and strength exercises. [Pls note that I hate dumbbells and dislike gym. I like cardio and love pushups and plank]. So, this workout is really simple but effective (for me) and may torture ur mental a bit. It doesnt need equipment (but u need a jump rope)

F - Fasting | INT F - Intermittent Fasting
I will give myself 2 days rest to allow my body to heal. I have extra time doing the weekends, so I will push myself to do more workout. Doing the selected days, I will try to spend at least 2 hrs for weekdays and weekends at least 3 hrs.
★ Move on to the diet
I'm not a foodie person. So I can survive a day without eating heavy meal while still being active. I choose Mon and Thu to fast, and Tue, Wed, Sat for intermittent fasting. Fri and Sun are my super 👻 cheat days. And dont forget to drink ur water 3L/day. I like to add a few slices of lemon in to my plain water for no proper reason. I just like to watch the lemon floating inside my bottle 😂

Rice is our main dish and we often have it during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rice is a form of high carbs, so Im gonna cut it completely from my diet, along with bar chocolates, sweet drinks, candies while still eating breads and cookies, less intake of salty snack and more in protein and fruits. And the rest, Im gonna eat it like usual but in smaller portion- noodle, kuey teow, oden, mee, oatmeal, etc.. Will be away from home for 7 weeks though, I'm a cheapstake to myself so I dont really spend money on food 😂
And i dont take any extra supplement. I hate drugs..

Since my only problem is my weight increased and I feel my muscle endurance reduced, I will immediately start at Level 3, then jump to Level 5 and then to Level 10. Im not an expert though, I just like to push myself to my limit and see how far I can still proceed.
If ure new to any type of exercise, pls try to do this activity level by level. Increase ur level every 2 weeks. Eg - Level 1 rpt 10x push up, 10 mins rope jumping, 1km jogging for the first 2 weeks | Level 2 rpt 20x push up, 20 mins rope jumping, 2km joggin for the next 2 weeks | Level 3 - and so on. Make sure to have 5-3mins rest before doing the next activity.

Agility workout aint fun without a partner, for me, at least. But, yeah, none of my female intern friends like sweat 🙃 so I have to train agility.all.by.my.self. (or probably will skip it and change to strength workout) Hmmm
Friendly reminder : Do it slowly but constantly. If u cant finish the 10x burpees, u can rest 2-3 mins every 5x. No need to push ur self too hard. Unless if ure stubborn like me, then have it ur way. Do this at ur own risk.

Right now, I am 166cm tall and 56kg. Perfect BMI u may say, but I feel heavy, unlike when I was only 54-52kg. Besides, I'm in class B sparring tournament. Cant let my weight be more than 54kg and less than 50

☆ Objective : Regain strength, speed and muscle endurance
☆ Workout focuses : Full body workout - Cardio + Strength

Keep in mind that this is not about trying to be like Tifa Lockhart, but instead, u may have abs and lean muscle like her through this workout (depends on ur genetic, routine and diet). If u want to reduce weight and bcome light like how I want it to be, then this simple exercise is for u.

Oikawa Teru (及川 輝)

his name “輝“ means “bright”, and this boi lives up to it because, let’s face it, he’s gonna be like his dad. he embodies this “brightness”, in a way that he’s smart, and he makes sure he and his team’s (or whichever team he’s going to be in) will shine on the court
wavy/curly hair and a victim of my and his dad’s astigmatism. always has this cheeky smile, and he gets my brimming energy so he’s really approachable and charming
very good with words; it’s like he always knows what to say
when he plays he also wears contact lenses
but don’t be fooled. in their generation, it’s him who has to put iwaizumi’s son in check. he knows everything about his teammates too, he knows more than what he lets on (which sometimes, they find creepy, but they all know he means well)
anyway, unlike his dad, he doesn’t really mind having geniuses around. instead, he watches them very closely; something like “mutualism”. he knows what he lacks and he knows he can learn from them too, vice versa.
is into horror games. in his free time, he and his sister take turns playing. and they decide it by seeing who can last the longest without flinching/screaming. he’s annoyed because his sister’s better at it 
has fans, ngl. i mean look at him. however, the female fans especially, are pretty on guard. he’s approachable, but anytime they see him with his sister... they back out. he doesn’t mind, he loves his sister and it actually amuses him. he’s the same when it comes to the boys who hang around her too!
basically protective siblings who are always there for eo
is very neat. can’t concentrate when something is out of place. he keeps his nails short, has a somewhat flowery scent. yes, he uses female perfumes because he despises strong smells.
bug-catching was his childhood hobby just like mine’s was. used to sneak beetles in iwaizumi’s son’s backpack back then
he will never admit it but he actually asks his sister for fashion tips because his taste sucks ass so bad
basically his major problem or issue in life is getting compared to his father (he’s also a setter). he hates that so much, being hidden in the shadow of his dad, and when people just recognize him for being oikawa tooru’s son.
something he and ushijima’s child relate to so strongly. they’re friendly rivals; might end up being teammates in their career hmm
so when he’s the one stressed, he skips practice for a day just so he could recollect his thoughts. usually stays in the library to read books he picked up based on the titles; might either open up to iwa or his sister later on, it depends. then when he’s okay, he doubles the amount of training
Oikawa Rie (及川 麗恵) it’s /ri-ye/ oki

so the kanjis are: "麗" meaning, beautiful and "恵" is blessed. tooru thought of this name obviously
also has curly hair like mine. has that tiny mole below her eye just like i do. actually has lots of moles over her body; one time she fell asleep on the couch her brother drew connecting lines between the moles on her arm and called them constellations. it was nice she thought but still, the next day, teru had to wear a band-aid over his nose bridge.
she’s just a year younger. is less “vibrant” than her brother, a bit more serious. has a resting bitch face and she’s not even sorry about it and i love her for that
she’s actually relieved she looks like that, or else she knows the girls in her class would flock to her just to get in her brother’s pants. usually brushes them off with “ask him, not me” or “do you think that’s any of my concern?” 
her tongue her words damn never get to this baby girl’s bad side she’s gonna burn you alive. like fr when she’s angry, oh she’s gonna show you that she’s angry. but tbh she's very sweet, leaves little notes or little gifts to her friends every now and then
she just doesn’t want her brother’s heart to be broken (she’s heard stories from her mom about her dad’s many hs exes), and she knows teru’s struggles
therefore
doesn’t really like volleyball that much. it’s because she didn’t get to grow up with her dad around, she felt like it separated her from him. she’s not mad at him though. she’s very supportive of him and her brother.
used to play vb though when they were kids. but that’s all it was for her
she’s the team’s honorary manager lol the occasional “i brought you guys sumn” or “something-kun, a girl from my class says she likes you so do your best” etc
the team’s lil sister how bout that
despite being tolerant of horror games, this girl is vvvv squeamish. she cries at the sight of internal organs or blood. biology lab was the worst time of her life 
when she dug up my hs videos she was shook to discover i once did theater. and thus begins her interest in theater too
and??? baby girl is actually???? really really good???? 
the girls she used to shut down nicknamed her “prima”, short for “prima donna” she hates it. hates it more when her closest theater buddy was the one who spread that around
immediately went to the gym to spike some balls from her brother. baby girl was crying because she was just so pissed.
she was given ice cream and sweets afterwards. ugh it’s so cute idk she’s baby to the team skksksk they protecc
in that upcoming play, her first ever performance, the whole team got front row seats and howled when she came on during curtain call; it was vvv sweet and memorable even if the guys were kinda reprimanded afterwards lmao
which is why, in return, boiis also have a hard time approaching her because damn??? the vb team as your knights???? excuse me??? 
oh have i mentioned she has a sweet tooth? mygod. she has a stash of sweets in her room. teru has had to sneak some away because she might get tooth aches or diabetes
her pastel nail polish is arranged by shade, her body clock is fucked up lmao she hates the mornings; has succulents by her window which she names after various characters from books/plays etc she’s for sure gonna be a theater actress tho
asks help from iwa’s son for math. even her brother’s 0% help. teru is smart but a terrible teacher. she’s an above-average student and that’s all that matters for her. she can leave the spotlight to her brother because she only craves one type of spotlight
Miya Seiichi (宮 聖一) and Miya Seiji (宮 聖二)

their names literally mean “聖” sacred then “一” is one, and “二” is two
atsumu thought it was funny. when they were kids, seiichi’s nickname was “juan” and seiji’s was “tutu” (i gave them the nicknames)
when the twins discovered the meaning behind the nicknames, they hated it. especially seiji, he despises it vvv much
so when they were hs, seiichi = chi, seiji = ji for the people they're close with
as we can see here, the twins unfortunately got my curls. seiichi likes his hair as is. he doesn’t like the thought of dyeing his hair just to be differentiated from his twin. in fact he enjoys twin jokes, enjoys tripping people up about it. seiji on the other hand, grew tired of his brother’s jokes and by the time hs started, he sacrifices his soft hair. 
between the two, seiji is the one who has my ugly eyesight. add to the fact that he reads a lot (once he starts he can’t put it down. so he reads in the dark, in a moving car etc)
the piercings was a thing that happened between them, and their cousins (which were also twins wtf)–it was a 2v2 vb thing and they lost
surprisingly, the cousins weren't pleased bc atsumu didn't scold them for getting piercings (but for playing half-heartedly). seiichi wanted the piercings tho tbh it was the perfect excuse. ngl, seiji also wanted them.
first let's talk abt seiichi, aside from the fact he also got my mole (he feels it makes him look cuter tho)
seiichi's into vb, but not a setter. he's the ace. may or may not push through with it as a career. he hasn't decided yet. is actually a bit sad that seiji didn't join the vb club in hs, he wanted them to be like his dad and uncle.
seiichi doesn't have any uh, quirks like shutting the whole cheer squad up like his dad does. but he usually dribbles the ball five times before any serve (this is something i did before) and he likes the 'ooooh hey' thing the crowd does when he goes for a serve
his side of the room doesn't have much stuff going on except workout equipment. he follows what exercise plan i give him as da PT mom that i am, and he is very strict with his diet and with what he eats–he's close to not needing a calorie counter anymore; but not a picky eater. he loves his uncle's cooking very much and he is jealous he can't cook even if he tries
he can do beatboxing, he learned it through youtube lmao his spotify playlists are da bombest; he learns a lot in youtube tho in his free time. his current interest is magic tricks and french (he thinks he can use it to woo that girl from class 4)
he hates insects, and hates mess. he has had to scold his twin about it that it escalated to them having this imaginary line in the middle of the room
anyway, he's straightforward. but not rude. he just doesn't like any pretenses so he says what he thinks or feels is right. may or may not have led to some misunderstandings, but he owns up to his mistakes if he crossed a line
next, seiji
even if he looks like a nerd with his glasses tbh he is not he actually hates studying. you can love reading without having to love studying right? he's that dude
the only time that he regrets dyeing his hair was when he realizes couldn't change identities so his brother could take his exam for him
his side of the room is littered with his sketches, notes from books, pencils everywhere – he drew a bunch of ants one time on a paper and made it look like they're real ass ants and placed it on seiichi's pillow
to solve this problem, atsumu has planned to give him a tablet for his next birthday
quits vb in hs because he kinda lost interest? he still finds it fun but he doesn't wanna be put under the pressure that his dad and uncle left for them lmao
he's in art clubs tho
he designs banners/posters for the team anyway. they use his strategic mind from the shit he's read for any plays and stuff so when he's not drawing, he's thinking
he might look like he has no emotions, but tbh he is more emotional and empathetic than his brother. he cries easily over the simplest things, like those grandparents vids, or rescuing animals and stuff
and thats why he doesn't let people in too much bc he knows he'll be hurt (dw seiichi knows this vvv well, and even if they do have arguments, he loves his lil bro and helps him about this)
has once begged to have a cat at home–seiichi didn't want bc he knows his twin is gonna leave him for clean up lmao
he can cook period.
he's gonna either be an architect or an animator, still hasn't decided.
his music taste sucks lmao. his youtube recents are filled with cooking stuff; in constant conversation with his uncle abt cooking lol it be cute sometimes atsumu is jealous bc he feels his son is closer to his brother than with him
he is forgetful that's why his stuff is messy lol he keeps misplacing stuff, sometimes it's literally in front of him and he's just 'where????'
