pokesona shenanigans
I've been thinking a lot about my little Monday lately, especially about her being some sort of mudbray / sylveon hybrid. Taking into accout she'd probably inherit that soothing aura from the sylveon part, I'm kinda set on calling her an "emotional support pokemon", maybe even a "therapy pokemon", if you will. Which, of course, can lead to some fun interactions with various characters. Oh and if she meets poke villians? Hilarity ensued 100%
If she was to meet Giovanni, she'd probably be brought in by his grunts as a "rare" pokemon they snatched. Quite peculiar little horsey, she is, this one can fetch a hefty sum for team Rocket... Or not, judging by the way there were now two pokemon's heads resting on his lap at any given moment. He has two hands for a reason, after all, and his Persian seems to tolerate the new headpat buddy rather well.
Cyrus is overworking himself again? Not on her watch, nuh-uh! Curse this strange pokemon his admins brought in, why does he always feel so... sleepy around it? He hated his weak human body for giving in to her soft neighs and nudges so easily... Ugh, fine, he'll take a quick nap, just get that pony away from him!
Maxie is a fully-grown serious adult, he is NOT trying to hide little 'aww's and chuckles watching Monday entertain the pack of young Numels under his care. (His mind was not designed to handle THIS amount of cuteness, Arceus, have mercy on the man's soul)
Archie's laugh, on the contrary, can be heard throughout the entire team Aqua hideout, as he watches poor little horse get absolutely soaked by playful Sharpedos. Honestly, it's quite a rare sight to see them not try to chew through another pokemon, refreshing!
N is a villian only by proxy, yet still... He is trying to pet her? Not without Monday absolutely swarming him with attention, playful nudges and cute little demands for more pats. That's it that's the post the good boy is getting all the positive interactions I'M NOT THE ONE MAKING THE RULES
Colress and Lusamine, tbh, are getting Cyrus's treatment. These scientists just don't know when to stop and get some rest, do they? Well, let's make them practice self care for once!
Lysandre knows beauty when he sees it. That creamy white coat! That lush wavy mane! Of course, he'd prefer her pink markings to be a bit more red to suit his team's color... But that's nothing some proper accessories can't fix! Besides, that's a perfect excuse to get his hands on brushing that soft mane, weaving red ribbons into it!
Oh, and Ghetsis? Sir? Get the HELL away from her, you're not getting ANYTHING

Lumi Plays Pokémon: White 2 Bug Monotype Run- Part 6
Sorry for the wait everyone! Between a busy week and illness of both the physical and mental variety, I'd not been able to continue with the run- until today! Thankfully, our journey resumed, and we got a few big things achieved!
Tumblr media
Why thank you Colress, Teabag is pretty great!
Done with Castelia, we headed onto Route 4. Colress wanted a battle, and honestly this was one of the tougher fights so far!
Tumblr media
Colress specialises in Steel types, and between Teabag and Gumball, we had no moves that weren't resisted by both his Pokémon!
First up was a Magnemite. It immediately paralysed Teabag, and we had to fight through the paralysis to hit it with some Returns. It was close, but Teabag pulled through. He fell to Colress' Klink though!
Gumball had to deal with said Klink, and it was very close. Thankfully Gumball just about managed to outlast the Klink by building up a strong Rollout. It was very close though.
Tumblr media
Yeesh.
After that, I avoided the trainers I could, and we headed to the outskirts of the Desert Resort! There we looked around until we found...
Tumblr media
A new Bug type buddy! We caught him and added him to the team. (Although actually, I caught 6 Dwebble because it took that long to find one with Sturdy like I wanted! I was there for a good 30 minutes...)
Tumblr media
And so, our timid Candy joins the squad.
The name was suggested by @gloomy-gores-world, to continue the food name theme- here's hoping Candy will be as sweet and sturdy as the rock candy he's named for!
Before I cleared out the route, I had another catch to make. It's Monday, and I'm playing White 2, which meant that I was able to catch the best HM user around!
Tumblr media
Welcome to the party, Braviary! No, you're not fighting, sorry.
With the new additions, I went ahead and cleared the route of both trainers and items.
Tumblr media
We gained a very useful TM for Candy, considering the gym coming up.
Tumblr media
And the boys got to know each other as they fought alongside their teammates!
Finally, with Route 4 cleared, I headed to the Desert Resort, which I will be clearing out next time!
I fought the nurse, to get a spot to heal at-
Tumblr media
And interestingly, she's in the same spot where a male doctor was in the previous game. I choose to believe it's the same person after her transition. Good for her!
Next time, I'll take on the desert, then over to Nimbasa and the surrounding routes, where I may or may not add a new friend or two! I haven't decided yet, so asking for nickname ideas will have to wait until I know for sure.
Thanks for your patience with waiting for the next part, but I'm excited to continue very soon!

Labmas AU - Unintended Consequences
Chapter 7 Part 2 - Work
Not missing a beat, Colress resumes, "We'll quietly make our way passed Kudari's quarters and head along the wall until we complete a rotation of the floor, arriving again at the elevator." Walking lightly, the two of you move beyond Kudari's place, and are now next to another wall. Being closer to the kennels, there were different Pokemon cries coming from the cages. Peeking in them, you notice a a few different species: Emolga, Joltik, and Venipede. They don't seem distressed, but it appears that they want attention. Colress doesn't give you time to watch them before starting again, "There are three more rooms designed for experiments here, and over in this last corner that we're currently heading to, is Nobori's room."
"Oh! Can we go say hello?" You were trying not to sound as excited as you felt.
There was a pause as Colress eyes you suspiciously, "I'm afraid I gave him orders this morning. He'll likely be gone for a few days."
Thinking aloud, you remark, "Nobori's room doesn't look anywhere near as large as Kudari's."
Colress sighs before offering a reason for the difference, "Only if there is someone to watch Kudari, does he ever leave his room. This wasn't always the case, but it is now. We have expanded it over the years with his ever increasing time spent in it, so he'll have plenty of space to move around. Nobori, on the other hand, is free to leave his room whenever he pleases." Now standing beside the aforementioned room, Colress expands on his statement, "He and Kudari used to share a room when they were growing up, but needed to be separated during their teenage years. Turns out, a Galvantula hybrid is just as territorial as its full Pokemon counterpart. I had to break up a fight between them, though I can't remember what it was about exactly. Probably something stupid. By the time I got there, Nobori had defended himself from Kudari's assault. Gave him a nasty burn, but nothing to leave any scars. Of course Kudari still wasn't letting up, so I had to… persuade him to stand down. Anyway, Nobori was pretty shaken up, so we moved him into his own space. He hasn't expressed a need or desire for anything larger, so that's where he remains to this day." Colress continues his journey and you follow.
You couldn't get a read on whether or not Colress found these specifics bothersome, or if he didn't really care. Being stuck in the same room all day must be hell, even if there's plenty of space to move around. Especially if you don't know when, or if, you're getting out. Conversely, staying in the same room for years on end without any change or room to grow, would also be frustrating. It seems like a terrible situation for both of the hybrids.
Arriving again at the elevator, Colress puts his tablet in his coat and announces, "Alright, that should be a good enough explanation." He eyes you up and down, before opining, "Many of the assistants who work here are lazy, and think they're too good to do menial work. They like to leave it all for someone else. Unfortunately for you, it's likely going to become your responsibility to clean up after them. Whereas they can argue that they're too busy helping with various experimentation, you cannot. So, for today, the simple job I have for you is… laundry. The unlaundered towels in the wash room are likely starting to pile up. Just clean and dry those and you're free for the weekend. For this task, I don't mind if you use your phone while you wait for them to finish, but don't make it a habit." Colress presses the button and enters the elevator. "Have a good weekend, (Y/N). I'll meet you on the first floor at 6 a.m. on Monday." The door closes and he's gone.
Colress hadn't given you a chance to say goodbye. Perhaps there is something important he has to do. You turn from the door and start walking to where he told you the wash room was. Luckily it wasn't by Kudari's place so you didn't have to sneak around. This door doesn't require a name badge to be scanned to open it, so after testing the knob to make sure it is unlocked, you go in. To your left you see the washing machine and dryer. Right next to them is an overflowing hamper filled with towels.
He wasn't lying when he said it would be a simple task. This would likely only take around four loads, depending on how much you wanted to shove into each one. The appliances looked like they were state-of-the-art, but you decided not to put too much in. You dreaded to think of Colress' reaction if you broke one of them. Hopefully this would not take too long. After putting the first load into the washer, you get on your phone and begin to browse the Internet. Perhaps when Nobori returns you could get his number. Just to chat every now and then. You guys were basically friends now, so it wouldn't be weird if you were in contact regularly. You would just have to keep it from Colress… and convince Nobori not to tell him as well.
Thinking of what you were going to do after this, you cannot help but marvel at the fact you have a weekend off. You haven't been off for a Saturday and Sunday together since you were in school. In your world, there would have been plenty to do, but here, you had yet to leave Plasma headquarters. No one told you that you couldn't, but if anyone found out that you weren't from this world, there might be panic. Then again, who the hell would believe you? This was another justification for getting Nobori's number. It would give you something to do. Maybe even hang out every now and then. Even if your relationship would only stay platonic. Not that you wanted more than friendship. Of course not. But he and Colress were the only two people you were properly acquainted with. And you certainly didn't want to hang out with Colress outside of work. Getting to know him personally would likely cause what charisma he was able to muster go right out the window. How hard to handle would he be if that were to happen? It wasn't worth it. Assuming of course Colress would even want to hang out with you anyway. He'd probably mention how it wouldn't be appropriate for someone of his stature to mingle with the commoners such as yourself. You were rolling your eyes at the thought.
As the towels finished drying, they were folded and put away in the cabinet. Having completed your task for the day, you return the detergent to its designated spot. Stepping out of the room, you decide to take a peak at the Pokemon again. Approaching the kennel closest to you, the first Pokemon you see are Joltik. For whatever reason, Team Plasma seem to have a bunch of them. They were held behind glass so they wouldn't have any bars to squeeze through. Though they were spiders, you didn't feel any fear of them. Their little bodies were covered in fluff, giving them the appearance more of hamsters than spiders. Having only four legs instead of eight also helped. In the next cage was a Litwick, giving off a soft, blue glow. This was the pre evolution of what Nobori is. You wondered if seeing it in a cage might bother him, or if he felt any kinship for Litwick at all. Moving further, there was a Galvantula nestled on a web in another glass case. Kudari's species. It was much creepier than the Joltik. It still only had four legs but they were much more pronounced, and you take note of the strange… arm-like appendages it has in the front. Taking out your phone, you decide to look it up. 'Pedipalps', they are called. Okay, that's enough Pokemon for one day. You decide potentially seeing more spiders isn't worth it. The time had come to head upstairs and call it a day. If Colress finds you hanging out here for no reason, he'll likely have something snarky to say. You head straight to the first floor to stash your lab coat in your locker and return to your room.
---
You were able to get plenty of rest on your time off. In fact, you spent most of it in bed watching the different shows that Unova had to offer. At one point on Saturday, you had ventured to the cafeteria and ran into Frank. He wasn't happy to see you and was actively trying to dodge your questions, but when you asked if he could send someone through the Ultra Wormhole to retrieve your video games because you were going crazy, he reluctantly agreed. Only on the condition you leave him alone from then on. Eagerly accepting his terms, you were presented with your systems and games on Sunday. You were able to play a decent amount, but even though Unova had Nintendo Switch, it didn't seem like you could use the online features on your current system. You might have to invest in another one from this world.
Getting out of bed, you do your usual routine to get ready. Remembering what Colress had said, you go to the first laboratory floor to meet him. When the elevator doors open, his back is facing you. Walking up to his right side, he looks in your direction.
"(Y/N), I'm glad you're still able to get here on time." He turns so his body is facing you. "Sometimes when our assistants get the whole weekend off, they tend to overdo it and arrive late to their following shift. Though I imagine you don't have anyone to go drinking with." He accentuated his last statement by nodding his head.
"Nope, absolutely no one." You say with a slight lilt to your voice. Getting upset this early would likely set the rest of your day on a downward spiral, so you let his comment slide off of you.
"Ha ha, of course." He seems to genuinely find your confession humorous and smiles widely. "Now then, I've retrieved your lab coat for you. Today I want you to keep an eye on the reception area. The grunt we usually have working here is currently indisposed, so we have one of our other assistants taking his place. I need you to step in for them so they can get back to the researcher they were helping before being pulled here."
"Okay. I've never done it before. Is there any training I have to do?" You ask the question to make sure there isn't any unknown element that may arise as you're working, while expecting a brash response. And you aren't disappointed.
"It's really simple… just make sure everyone that goes through this door"— he gestures towards the door and raises his eyebrows— "has a name badge. You shouldn't have trouble with that."
"Yes sir." You acknowledge. Colress gives you another smile and nod before heading through the door. This day was going to drag on and on. You must have really pissed him off with the comment about being the hybrid's DNA donor. Why else would he be asking you to do something so boring? Wondering how you were going to get through the day, you notice that just under the desk was a makeshift shelf hidden from view. The grunt that usually works here must have installed it expressly for the purpose of hiding a phone or tablet. You would have to remember to buy him lunch sometime to show your gratitude.
A few hours passed of researchers and assistants coming through. Some of them would offer greetings, others would just walk by. While you are stealthily playing on your phone, it begins to ring. The caller ID says 'unknown'. This is the first time anyone has called the phone you have from this world. Hesitantly, you answer it, "Hello?"
"(Y/N)! It's Colress. I need you to head down to the second floor. There's quite a mess in the autopsy room. Leave the reception area for now. It shouldn't cause any issues."
"Autopsy room?" You say with confusion, as your stomach falls.
"Yes, I forgot. We were interrupted on that day we were going over the second floor. To get there, after exiting the elevator, don't turn left down the hallway. Head forward halfway down and there will be a door to your left. That's the autopsy room." Colress didn't give you time to say anything else. "Remember when I said the assistants were lazy? Well, someone dropped one of the specimens meant for practice dissection. There's a small pool of embalming fluid splattered on the floor. Stop by the supply closet for a mop to clean this mess." He abruptly ends the call.
Sighing, you leave the desk and make your way downstairs and to the supply closet. There's a section specifically for cleaning supplies. Grabbing a mop and bucket, you wheel it over to a small drain in the corner. A faucet is there, which you use to fill the bucket. Adding a cleaning agent, you place the mop inside and begin to wheel it to where Colress had directed you to go. Entering the room, you see a glass partition separating half of the room from the next. You could clearly see the autopsy table on the other side. This area must be used as a type of learning aid so the assistants can watch how to dissect things before trying themselves. Opening the door to the actual autopsy room, you start mopping. There's a sense of relief in not having to pick up the corpse of the Pokemon. It only takes a few minutes to clean, so after placing the mop back in the bucket, you leave the room. Colress nearly bumps into you on the other side.
"Sorry! Didn't mean to almost run into you." The words quickly leave your mouth.
Colress shakes his head. "No worries. I'm glad you work with a sense of urgency. Now that the spill is taken care of—" The lights go out, bringing Colress to halt. You can hear the constant whirr of the laboratory shut down. "What the hell? Why aren't the back up generators kicking in?" Colress sounds a bit panicked. "…Something's wrong. I have a feeling this isn't a random occurence." His tablet screen is illuminating his face, giving his glasses a strange sheen. Addressing you, he demands, "Go to the generator room and head upstairs to the first floor. That's where everyone is to meet. Don't dawdle. I need to go to the third floor and check on Kudari. If he somehow got out of his room, there could be trouble. It'd be best if you were quick."
Nodding, you respond, "Of course. I'll head there now." Reaching into your pocket, you pull out your phone and turn on its flashlight. Colress sprints in the direction of the generator room. When you get there, you see his head disappearing down the stairwell. Something gives you pause. Stepping back, you return to the hallway.

Labmas AU - Unintended Consequences
Chapter 15 Part 2 - Friendship
Sunday was another depressing slog, playing games most of the day to try and dull the emotional pain you were feeling, and keeping your mind off the darkest musings your imagination could muster. There was a brief moment you thought about sneaking down to see Kudari again, but on top of the threat of running into Colress, you worried your sour mood would contaminate him, and ruin his day. The alarm that wakes you on Monday morning is almost a relief, until you realize another confrontation with Colress is inevitable. Moving at a Snorlax's pace, you begin to get dressed. You'll power through the difficult interactions with him to spend more time with Kudari.
After disembarking from the elevator, you spy Colress in the reception area. He's waiting for you, as usual. Seeing him causes your breath to hitch. When he makes eye contact with you, you avert your gaze. Approaching cautiously, he stashes his tablet in his lab coat and addresses you gently, "(Y/N), I know this is awkward, but I must apologize for my behavior the other day. Here, let's go ahead into the laboratory, we'll continue our discussion as we walk." Scanning his badge, he beckons you to follow through the door. Entering the hallway where he shoved you a few days ago, he begins, "It was not my intention to lose my temper in such a way. I want to assure you I'm not mad, though I must admit, I'm perplexed. Never in all the years I spent raising Nobori, did I ever think anyone would see the potential for a romantic partner in him, so forgive me for my brash response at discovering your… mutual interest in each other. I can't stop you from doing anything reckless, just don't be a distraction, that's all I ask. It would be a shame to lose another assistant so soon." Arriving at the other elevator, you both enter, Colress pressing the button to descend to the third floor. "Nobori seems to be really taken with you. I don't know what you can see in something like him. Similar to his brother Kudari, he does not perceive things as we do. It's always skewed or distorted."
You aren't sure how he could possibly know that, but you would gladly see things in the same way as the hybrids, over experiencing them in the awful, cruel way Colress does. It's also not lost on you how he refers to Nobori as 'something'. Attempting to ease his concern, you inform him, "You can stop worrying. I don't think I can be with someone who does… what he does."
Colress looks dumbstruck, though you can't tell if he is being serious or exaggerating. "Surely you wouldn't stop a relationship just based on something he has no control over? It might seem to him as if he was being strung along. Besides, Kudari isn't the only one with a temper. Nobori is much more level-headed, but he has the ability to hold a grudge like no human can. I only wish I could match the vitriol that he is capable of spewing."
That seems like projection on Colress' part. Only when you first met him did he bother attempting to hide his nasty disposition. The elevator doors open, and you both exit, walking a few paces before stopping by the kennels. Pulling out his tablet, he begins typing.
A good portion of the weekend was spent wondering about the specifics of Nobori's job, and why Colress chose him to do it. It would be for the best if you let it go, but the question escapes your lips before you can stop yourself, "I have to ask… why? Why would you make someone, who you've helped raise, kill people? Does it not weigh heavily on your conscious?"
Looking up, he shrugs, giving you a blank expression. "Not at all," he replies. "Certain things need to be done, and we choose the best candidates to do them. Though, if you're suggesting I personally taught him how to do it, you would be mistaken. That task was given to the Shadow Triad."
Now you know he is fucking with you, a 'Shadow Triad'? He must really take you for a fool. The silent look you give him must have been enough of a hint that you weren't buying it.
"I'm not teasing you or jesting," Colress assures you, wearing a serious look on his face. "The Shadow Triad are enforcers that work for one of the highest people in Team Plasma. When I told him the things that Nobori was capable of, he was very intrigued. He sent them to train him to be the best he could possibly be."
"Are you talking about how he can communicate with spirits? And exactly what kind of training did they put him through?" you inquire. How could he let these people manipulate a child into doing such reprehensible things, leaving that child to grow up unable to discern how wrong it is?
"Ha ha ha, you don't actually believe that, do you? No, no, nothing like that. Nobori can teleport. He's very good at hiding in the shadows. On top of his Ghost type abilities, he's also able to use Fire type moves. I guess you were correct when you described him as a 'jack-of-all-trades', though I'm sure that's not the way you intended it. As for the process of his training, and what it entailed, that was not revealed to me. I can only assume they helped hone his more clandestine talents."
That explains how Nobori got into your room the other night. It also reveals how he was able to sneak up on you and Colress when you were being manhandled by him. Though you've seen him use a Fire type move to free you from some webbing, you have yet to actually witness a Ghost type, only being told by Kudari that they each have different abilities. Looking for any rebuttal, you rationalize, "Well, surely this Shadow Triad can go on these missions instead of Nobori?"
Shaking his head, he explains, "They aren't under my command, they only work for one person, and take orders from him alone. Unfortunately, some people know of them, so in the event they are seen, it would immediately be linked back to their leader. Nobody outside of the most trusted grunts in Plasma headquarters are aware of Nobori's existence. His aforementioned abilities give us the benefit of the doubt on whether someone seeing him is actually in their right mind, or hallucinating."
"So it has to be Nobori," you relent. "But what about his life? Wouldn't it be better for him if he could learn to feel things like a normal person? To start to be independent from Team Plasma, and form his own opinions on things?"
He gives you an incredulous look, "No, why would I want that? Nothing can jeopardize his missions, and that kind of thinking would definitely cause… complications."
Everything you say winds up a dead-end. Maybe he can better explain the victims he chooses, and the supposed unforgivable things they do. "You tell him the targets are bad people. What constitutes 'bad people'?"
Growing impatient, he attempts to answer you, "It can be something as simple as a blog with only a few viewers. If I deem it to be a problem, he takes care if it. Any and everything could potentially cause issues for us. Obviously people who are extremely important are off limits, just to be safe. But most everyone else, is fair game. As long as the general populace doesn't look too closely at our activities, they should be fine."
This proves your initial idea correct, that the targets aren't really bad, Colress is just telling that to Nobori so he won't question the awful things he's ordered to do. Switching to another topic, you try asking about the terrible news you learned, "Well then, what about the hybrid's life spans?"
His jaw tightens. "What of them?" he lets out through clenched teeth.
The topic clearly puts him on edge, but you persist with the same line of questioning, "Is it true they won't live for very long compared to the average human?"
Arm faltering, his tablet now at his side, glare fully focused on you, he answers, "Yes, that is correct."
"And there's nothing that can be done?" you urge him, feeling desperate.
You can tell he's trying to hold back the ill emotions that are rampaging through him, before he responds, "There isn't. I've debated this topic with myself since the day they were born, I don't need to hear about it from someone with no knowledge on the subject. Now quit interrogating me over things you could never understand so we can get to work."
He must hide his feelings until they can't be ignored. Or he just bottles them up until he gets to take them out on Kudari, or anyone else unfortunate enough to be near him at the time. Either way, there's something very wrong with him. If he knew from their birth that they were going to have short lives, why didn't he ever tell them? Kudari said it was he and Nobori that estimated the amount of time they had left. Who could think withholding such information was acceptable?
Lifting the tablet back to eye level, he begins with the task for today, "Now, moving on, I've noticed that the laundry has been accumulating rather quickly for some reason. I'm certain you worked on it last week, but the volume must be too high for you to catch up. So, Kudari is going to help you today, though I feel it to be a great waste of time for two people to be doing such a simple job. But, perhaps it's for the best. Anything more elaborate and he's likely to ruin it." He starts walking in the direction of Kudari's room without looking up from his tablet.
Biting your tongue, you silently follow. You'll get to work with Kudari today, after all, and when the job is done you can spend time with him.
At his door, Colress informs him, "Kudari, it's time for work. I know you're ready, come on," before entering the passcode into the wall panel. The door opens, and Kudari comes out with a large grin on his face. He's wearing a striking red colored dress shirt, which accentuates the fresh scab that's on his throat.
Spotting you standing behind Colress, he claps his hands and approaches. "Hello, my friend! I am so happy we are getting to work together again!"
Colress rolls his eyes, "Yes, Kudari, I'm sure you are. For today, finish all the laundry in the wash room. This is excruciatingly easy stuff. I expect all of it to be done. There's no reason any should be left over with two people working on them." He raises his eyebrows at Kudari, then turns to leave.
Speaking at a low volume, so Colress doesn't hear, you say, "Let's hurry up and get this done, then we can hang out."
"Okay! I can't wait! We are going to have so much fun!" he proclaims, fidgeting in place from excitement.
