Graffiti Opdracht

Dit is wat vergelijkbaar werk van Ces53 & KBTR, beide kunstenaars hebben iets waar ze bekend om staan net zoals bij de kunstenaar van het werk dat ik heb gekozen:

Geschiedenis Graffiti

Vroeger in de oudheid schreven de Romeinen ook op hun muren en monumenten, Vikingen deden dit ook. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog was het erg populair onder Amerikaanse soldaten om overal waar ze kwamen de tekst ‘Kilroy was here’ te plaatsen, met Mr. Chad, het mannetje dat over een muur staart. Deze graffiti kan je nog overal ter wereld zien. Eind jaren zestig maakten jongeren uit New York met een viltstift hun schuilnamen vliegensvlug op treinstellen en op metro's, overgenomen van de straatjeugd in Philadelphia. Dit soort 'handtekeningen' wordt tags genoemd. Graffiti zijn vaak korte teksten of afbeeldingen maar het kan ook een grote muurschildering zijn.

Omgeving

In mijn omgeving is er vooral veel werk van ColourCastle, vooral in de binnenstad van Leiden. Op het internet zijn er gelijke werken, maar er is ook heel ander werk bijvoorbeeld met alleen tekst of iets met een diepe betekenis.

Werk

De graffiti die ik heb gekozen is gemaakt door ColourCastle. Meestal hebben ze een popeye in hun werk en ze doen ook workshops. Het werk is aan de Boshuizerkade en is samen met de buurtbewoners en ColourCastle gemaakt. Het werk in het algemeen vind ik een mooie graffiti maar ik vind het nog mooier en leuk om te horen dat de buurtbewoners er ook iets aan mochten doen, het is tenslotte hun buurt.

Conclusie

Ik vind de graffiti erg goed, het is erg kleurrijk en er is met de hele buurt aan gewerkt. Bovendien laat het werk echt de wijk zien, volgens de kunstenaar was voor het werk vooral de verschillende culturen en de groei van de wijk belangrijk, wat duidelijk zichtbaar is.

STELLING: Graffiti zijn vervuilend en vandalistisch. Graffitispuiters verdienen dan ook een fikse boete en moeten zelf de kosten van het schoonmaken betalen.

Ik ben zelf niet een grote fan van graffiti, maar zolang het op een legale plek is, vind ik het goed. Er zijn ook veel mooie graffiti werken en is niet altijd lelijk. Als de graffiti echt mensen of de natuur lastig valt moet het wel weg en het zou dan wel handig zijn als de makers het dan zelf weghalen.

Keith Haring

Keith Haring wilt werk dat de mensen kunnen begrijpen, waarmee veel verschillende mensen bij elkaar mee komen. Zijn werk werd onder andere een publieke stem voor de jonge generatie. Hij wou vrede en liefde en wou iedereen dat te begrijpen. Ook wou hij de grenzen duwen van wat wordt beschouwd als kunst.
