I feel like I don't write very much.
I write a little bit here and there, usually when I'm trying to go to sleep. This is a pattern of mine - I have a bunch of "scenarios" files that just have a collection of different scenarios with my characters. All but one of them were started and finished last year, with the current one only having a little more to go.
I have twenty-one of these files in total. They're no-pressure and if I'm not vibing with the one I'm writing, then I drop it and move to another one. I don't even work on them consistently, there's no routine or anything.
Just last month or so, though, I realised just how many of these things there are.
Scenarios 1 has 20 scenarios.
Scenarios 2 has 15.
The rest all have 10, with the exception of Scenarios 21, which is unfinished and has 9.
There are 21 Scenario files in total. There are 254 scenarios. I started this specific series of scenarios in March last year. It feels fucking wild.
I always feel a little bad about how much I write because in 6th grade I managed the insane feat of writing close to 300 pages in like 6 months, but this isn't really all that fair on me. I spent all of my time from when I got home to when I went to sleep working on that fanfic, and I don't really do that anymore. 6th grade me set an extremely unfair standard on current me that I always feel like I have to fulfill when that kid just literally had nothing else they wanted to do, but now I have a lot of things I want to do and a lot of different stories I'd like to tell.
I'm considering seeing what the page count on all those scenarios looks like, because the way they're organised right now is, to my mind, functionally the same as 21 pages, even though it is most certainly more than that.
#they suck shit to scroll through#i just write on my phone on colornote#which isn't exactly optimised for what i use it for lol#but#yeah#whats even more insane is this doesn't even account for the amount of time and effort i put into things like character bios and lore notes#my character bio for viktor is 23 pages#its not even done. it doesnt ahve all the info#the backstory is in list form because some things need reworked!#the PREVIOUS bio was like 40-something pages#but its from 2022 and not 2023 so i cant count it for the amount of shit i did in 2023

keep a fucking diary in some form any form even in the form of unintellegible memos words a journal of cussing out or even just a single letter each day or week or month i implore everyone it is so so so worth it
#i use the colornotes app in playstore#it's simple and functional enough just enough for me to not be overwhelmed by the sheer ui#been using it since 2020#maybe i'll try something upgraded like evernote or something now that i've made such a habit of it#but simpler shit just makes me easier to just ramble into without care nor pressure nor overwhelminged which is so great for my#brain munkey experience

Oi oi, booklovers!
🌷| Livrossss
Nessa parte, estão os seguintes apps:
• ReadEra: serve basicamente pra PDFs do colégio.
Bjs e boas leiturassss <333

1.5.24 • By this time next year I will have completed my history capstone project which right now exists only as a million unhinged ColorNotes files! These books were starting to form a weird moat around my bed.

7, 12, 24, and 29 :)
7. preferred writing fonts - well, these days, basically all my writing is done in my very simple notes app i downloaded ages ago (ColorNote) which just comes with one font afaik; and then I only do proofreading and formatting in Word, where I'm simply using Calibri at the moment. But very little gets changed in the text at that point.
12. tropes - I mean, I've never written it because it's hard to find non cracky scenarios for it in most fandoms but I like the 'pining idiots forced by circumstance into fake dating and then eventually ending up together' stories. Otherwise I'm not sure how many tropes show up in my writing, unless you count the fact that basically everything I touch somehow turns into slow-burn :D
24. how do i recharge when not feeling creative? - Quite often I feel like there's nothing for it but to wait it out, unfortunately. Sports and walks and getting away from the screens can help though.
29. coming up with titles - not very easy for me. they usually come last, so if i come up with a title before I've finished the fic I know I'm on the finishing line. Quite often, I end up using a song lyric that might fit the story because I can't think of anything original that I like.

I keep trying out Notion because everyone speaks so highly of it, but every time I try to lookup a way to use it, the top suggestions include AI and forced fake templates that don't actually help me start and there is a UI I can't grasp. Think I will stick with Colornote for now..

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, free list app for Android? I'm essentially trying to keep this of small things like pronouns for people I don't talk to much, random ideas, shopping lists, etc etc mostly looking for:
-a good, streamlined interface thats a bit better than the ColorNote one I have (example below)
-needs to have a backup somehow, ofc (bonus if files can be accessed from desktop computer)
-preferably customizable theme but not necessary

I feel like a fake sometimes as a writer/author because of how I "organize" my work. Simply using ColorNotes app instead of carrying a notebook everywhere with me.
Well, I'm here to boink my head and anyone else's that feels this way. The process for everyone is different and unique to them.
Go be your weird little goblin self and write.

🍒🧅🍐🌽 for the latest ask game :D Any of your characters <3
Thank you so much for your ask! I had the answer in my colornote waiting for any detail I'd like to add for ages, but here is 😄
🍒 [CHERRY] Who is your OC's perfect companion?
Given that they have been together through thick and thin for ten years now, I'd say Meryw is her perfect companion 💙
She's curious and enthusiastic, kind and fun, brilliant and earnest.
She's a ray of sun, her sword and shield, her sister, the polar star who guides her through the Domain of the Lost.
[ONION] What is surefire to make your OC cry? Who knows of this information?
Since we're treading in dark territories, let's put a read more here! (End of dragons & Lws6 spoilers!)
The prospect of Trahearne resenting her, somehow, for what she did to save him from Mordremoth. It is something they addressed several times, but she never quite overcame that guilt.
Or her friends, her guild, the people she loves turning from her – or worse against her!
🌽 [CORN] How good are they at hiding and finding their way?
With the endless stream of krytan and ascalonian curses and profanities that followed Anwen and Meryw through Tangled Depths, I'd say shortly : no. She's not good at finding her way – or rather she will get where she wants BUT she either has no idea how she did it or the path she follows makes no sense to anyone but herself.
As for hiding, she wears a plate armour and she's almost as tall as a norn, so no, she's not exactly discreet 😅
🍐 [PEAR] What is their current social standing? If they could change it, would they, and to what?
She inherited her birthparents' title, so she is a Vicountess – a lesser member of the Reach's nobility, not highborne enough to seat at the council, but enough to be respected – and benefits from her adoptive parents, Lord and Lady Faren's impeccable reputation.
In addition, she benefits from her fame as Commander of the Pact – even years after she resigned from the position – and leader of Dragon's Watch.
So, if she once felt trapped by her rank and title, she now finds the benefits to her liking!

3, #8, #22 and #40 Weird Questions for Writers
Thanks, love!!
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?
I don't really have too much of a writing ritual, per se...I just write whenever I can. I guess the only other thing I do with my Bad Batch fic is rewatch whatever episode is next in the story to make sure I get lines right and know how to describe certain scenes.
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
I would definitely go with dialogue. Half the time, I come up with dialogue first when I write and then fill in the gaps. I'm much better at that than action.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
Long time ago, I used to write a lot in notebooks, but then I almost got caught with my writing stuff at work and I didn't want to risk getting in trouble. It was nothing bad, I just didn't want them to think I was doing that instead of working (I'd only write once my other tasks were finished) So now, I just write everything on my phone or the computer. I used to use ColorNote, but then I switched to just writing everything on Google Docs. Seems to work the best.
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.
This is actually an original poem of mine that actually was picked as a finalist in a poetry competition and ended up published in a poetry book (I can't remember what it's called, it was years ago 😅) It's also something I wrote for an original novel I wrote.
Melodies of Heaven
Calm your troubled mind.
Melt, it will, this icy hold over you.
Hearken to my soft, sweet lullaby,
and I will lead you through.
Bloom of roses, songs of doves,
ballad of a Harper shall hold sway here;
breeze of autumn, dew of spring,
peace now be yours, my dear.
Seraphim pow’r heal you from shadow,
melodies of Heaven above,
save this burdened, frightened child
and free their soul with eternal love.
