𖧹 Testing out the waters a bit with some new effects i've downloaded to GShade... Kinda tricky cuz it makes everything ultra slow when trying to manipulate ANYTHING but i kinda like them. Tumblr doesn't help it very much with the entire colorbending on the pictures tho...

I hate it when a character in the source material, particularly from an animated or comic book one, is clearly drawn to be dark-skinned but when they adapt the source material into a live-action show or movie they somehow make them 3-6 shades lighter for no good reason whatsover? It’s just as bad as racebending, really.

alt design series!

heya! welcome to the first post of my alternate design series (alternate? alternative?). i'm not sure if this has been done before but the idea has been marinating in my head for a long time so i decided to give it a go!

the first character i did was hollyleaf. i have changed:

her fur color (from black to sandy, takes after sandstorm)

markings (chest, paws, tail... i also gave her holly-shaped spots)

nose (it's dark red now, just because i found it cute! :)) )

things that i left the same as in the series:

her green eyes! (made them very dark tho😳)

the holly leaf behind her ear (not really a canon thing, but very widespread in fanart so it might as well be :'D )

anyway i hope you enjoyed my first post here, gonna do more stuff sooner or later👀 either alt or normal designs, or something else <3 have an amazing day!

Present day are times where the fast and clean animated cartoons are made fresh out and played on the pretty big screen for the viewers of all ages. Especially the music and such. 

However, when you’re named Marie with a show that has had a good run until the company decides to tell your creator to give her loving fans one big middle finger and end it with a confusing cliff hanger and then to take it off the network, cartoon industry is a damn nightmare and dream crusher. Yeah they’ll have their reasons and concerns for the best of their company, but to have the show removed all because one show who’s plot story doesn’t make any sense and that they like to drag on one joke is another thing.

You’re creator will just give up and go back to her waitress days, and well... you decide to the same.

Things were alright until some strange encounter with an odd toon who states to have been around since the 30s and finds the new age to be confusing, you just thought, why the hell not? Show him around and introduce him to new world and tell him all about it.

Rules

2. This blog is highly SFW with some innuendos here and there, but is far from being NSFW! Any perverted or NSFW asks will be deleted. Keep it up, and its an instant block. I’ll put up the NSFW blog for people of age and if they want to see it.

Okay this may shock you.... but........ if a character has a canon skin tone........... you should draw them with their canon skin tone..... because it's a part of their design.....

And yes, I know that black Japanese people exist, but if a character doesn't have dark skin, changing it to super dark isn't "diversifying" them, it's race/colorbending and it's hella racist for you to say that light skinned Japanese people aren't diverse enough. JAPANESE PEOPLE ARE POC REGARDLESS. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SKIN TONE YOU ARE.

And yes, to me that is dark skinned. She looks black to me, that doesn't look tanned. It may just be how I see see colors or something, but she looks like a light skinned black person or a darker skinned Japanese person, since stereotypical Japanese people are light skinned. Also??? Idk how you tan, but I don't know anyone who gets that shade after tanning, not even myself, I turn a golden tan color.

It's not racist for a tv show or game to not have a character with every possible skin tone, if you get genuinely upset because there isn't a super dark black character in every single media, sorry that you're so sensitive. (And like I said DR has characters that aren't super pale, you don't need to forcibly diversify them. If you want to recolor all of them to be pitch black or whatever, be my guest, but you're still shitty and racist against Japanese people because Japanese people can be any color and saying that pale Japanese people aren't good enough is shitty :] )

If you racebend Japanese characters (yes, if the og material is from Japan, the character are Japanese unless stated otherwise) to be black because “light skin isn’t diverse enough”, you’re a piece of racist shit, send tweet
