Perception(easy): On a shelf you see an old postcard with a "Shores of the Revachole" written on it.

More commonly known as the red-bellied manticore, the copycat menace, or some other local flavor of name.

Despite their frightening countenance they have been regularly observed to be much friendlier than their more malicious kin, which aside from the unique coloration they are nigh indistinguishable from.

Unfortunately, this same trait makes it far easier to mistake a freshly fed manticore for its gentler counterpart in turn… It is advised to look for any evidence of a meal nearby before approaching such a creature
