Fall in Love with Beantrust Coffeebar’s Fall Seasonal Menu
When you think of fall, what comes to mind? Pumpkin patches, hay rides, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and more are all staples of the season. In the Massachusetts North Shore, residents know how to celebrate this season in a less traditional way–through flavorful coffee. Beantrust Coffeebar at 151 ½ Hale Street in Beverly is a quaint and cozy coffee shop that serves up a collection of fantastic drinks and pastries. Founder Erik Modahl has spent almost three decades in the coffee industry, working in every step from the bean to the final drink. Wanting to step away from the sales aspect, he founded Beantrust in 2016 with the storefront opening in 2020.
In the store, the welcoming and knowledgeable baristas have a lot of control over the menu. They are the ones who combine the dozens of flavor syrups and drink parts into seasonal menu recipes. These pre-decided orders are a great way for new customers to try a fun drink. Long-time Beantrust fans know that if they enjoy a seasonal recipe, you can actually order it all year round. Each small latte comes with two shots of espresso and costs around $5-$7. As I am a fan of sweet coffees, these specialty drinks were perfect to pull me into the season. Being a New Englander, I often order these as iced lattes regardless of the weather, but the flavors can be iced or hot. Although the lattes I am reviewing are designed to be fall creations, you can visit Beantrust Coffeebar any time to try these out yourself.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Winter has hot chocolate, summer has lemonade, but fall’s iconic drink has become the famous, or infamous depending on who you ask, PSL–Pumpkin Spice Latte. Popularized by the millennial generation’s obsession with the drink, chains like Starbucks and Dunkin started rolling out this drink earlier every year. One might assume that a Pumpkin Spice Latte from any coffee shop would taste the same. However, Beantrust’s focus on curating a diverse collection of flavorful coffee beans from around the world means the coffee flavor shines through. In my past experience with a Starbucks PSL, artificially colored orange pumpkin syrup is the overwhelming flavor. With Beantrust’s iteration, the pumpkin has a softer flavor, which balances out with the coffee taste. The sprinkle of cinnamon on top creates a wonderful aroma as you're sipping the drink. If you like a super sweet drink, this might not be the order for you. But if you want to appreciate the flavor of international coffee with a touch of fall, a classic Pumpkin Spice Latte is the way to go.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Latte
As someone who usually drinks a light coffee with a lot of milk, I was terrified when the baristas first handed me this drink. In that split second, I forgot I had ordered a chocolate-based drink, which darkened the tone of the coffee. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry latte uses hot chocolate mix and strawberry syrup to create a coffee version of the fruity dessert. I thought the balance between chocolate and strawberry was done very well, with a stronger chocolate flavor the strawberry was not overpoweringly sweet. Although this was a great drink, I didn’t find myself reaching for it often as I prefer a more classic fall flavor palette–maple, pumpkin, cinnamon, etc. However, I recommend ordering this in February when the Valentine’s Day season is in full swing.
Mocha Pumpkin Latte
Continuing with a chocolate theme, the Mocha Pumpkin latte has become my favorite order for the season. Contrary to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, this is a very sweet drink. Imagine a brownie with a layer of pumpkin pie on top and that is exactly what this latte tastes like. The first time I tried the drink, I splurged an extra $1 to get cold foam, what I describe as a thinner version of whipped cream that sits on the top of an iced coffee drink. However, this was bordering on too sweet of a drink, even for me. From now on, I order just the Mocha Pumpkin latte and add the cold foam to an iced PSL for an extra dash of sweetness.
Sugar Bear Latte
Finally, a Beantrust classic–the Sugar Bear latte. This drink consists of maple, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Although I get this iced, the coziness of the fall flavors feels like a warm teddy bear hug. You can see the sparkles of cinnamon swirling throughout the drink. Real maple syrup is used for the flavoring, something I appreciate as I call myself a “syrup snob.” This is a combination of classic flavors that make it feel like I am drinking a sweet pastry. The Sugar Bear latte has become my go-to recommendation for new customers at Beantrust.
Of the hundreds of possible drink orders at Beantrust, I believe the baristas have done a good job of curating a fall specialty menu that is true to the classic seasonal flavors that everyone expects. With a limited budget compared to a billion-dollar corporation like Starbucks or Dunkin, I think they do a fantastic job of providing variety in the combination of flavors to diversify their menu with a few key ingredients. The consistent flavor notes throughout the menu make the drinks predictable enough to encourage the investment to try a new order, but the quality of coffee and service make the drink better than one could expect.

— karasuno’s starbucks orders
❤ boys !! daichi, sugawara, asahi, tanaka, nishinoya, ennoshita, kageyama, hinata, tsukishima, yamaguchi
❤ genre !! character study
❤ author notes !! somehow a pileup of work projects means i have more hc ideas? catch me making a habit of writing one of these after work every day.
❤ daichi !! daichi’s favorite coffee is smooth and rich, maybe just a little sweet. he orders a caramel macchiato with one less pump of caramel than on the recipe, no whipped cream. he says he wants to taste the coffee, but he also knows that he definitely wouldn’t enjoy coffee without a little sweetness.
❤ sugawara !! he’s a mocha man! he has a big sweet tooth, but also likes the style himself as an “adult” (yeah okay suga), so he’s one to order a hot mocha and say something idiotic about how the chocolate enhances the flavor of the coffee. no one believes him. they also make fun of him whenever he gives himself a whipped cream mustache. this happens often.
❤ asahi !! asahi likes orders that are easy to remember and don’t vary much in flavor or texture depending on who’s making it. we’ve all been victim to a burnt shot of espresso, and the one time that happened to him scared him off of espresso forever. instead, asahi is the kind of guy who orders a regular black coffee and adds his own milk so he can control how light it is!
❤ tanaka !! passion tea lemonade!! you can’t fight me on this!! i think tanaka loves fruity, refreshing things, even in winter (though he might get a hot chocolate or a mocha to warm up when it’s very cold). he thinks it’s cool that it’s bright red.
❤ nishinoya !! king of the starbucks secret menu. shows up with the recipe for something wild memorized, maybe like, the sour patch kids drink or the strawberry cheesecake frap. he orders it, slams it down on the table, and makes whoever came with him try it to experience the magic for themselves. this man can make a drink that tastes like anything. probably has thousands of tiktok followers because of it. specializes in videos where he makes tanaka try weird drinks.
❤ ennoshita !! ennoshita drinks tea more than coffee, and ordered a london fog one time because he thought that sounds really cool. then he got hooked, so that’s his regular order, though he’s known to mix it up with a chai latte every now and again. tea is warm and feels herbal, spicy, and complex -- but the milk makes it sweet. he could drink like four tea lattes a day. minimum.
❤ kageyama !! he doesn’t really like starbucks at all (i think he’s a big bubble tea guy, but i digress), so i think he’d get something simple that’s mostly milk. honestly? i think he would get a white hot chocolate if he was by himself, but he’d get something with as little coffee in it as possible if he’s with the rest of the boys so no one bullies him for his “immature palette”. maybe a white chocolate mocha!
❤ hinata !! strawberry frap. no it doesn’t have caffeine. yes i stand by this. also really enjoys the colorful refresher + coconut milk combos like the pink drink, dragon drink, etc. he also would try out any secret menu concoctions nishinoya tells him about, but never gets the recipe right.
❤ tsukishima !! tsukishima hasn’t developed the taste for coffee just yet, but when he does, i think he’s an iced latte kind of guy. he enjoys the bitter bite of espresso on his tongue, but he also likes a very large cup of coffee with a ton of milk and ice. maybe that’s just to water it down a little (a lot), but he’ll never tell.
❤ yamaguchi !! his first ever coffee experience was a cup of black coffee because he didn’t know what to order, and he hasn’t gotten over how god-awful it was. now, he’s more of a matcha latte sort of guy (i feel like he also really likes barley tea, maybe chamomile too). also known to dabble in green tea lemonade when it’s hot out. yams is just, such a tea guy.

Bluepulse Week - Day 5: Colors/Seasons
It seemed like everyone in the world had a specific season they they just thrived during. Sometimes it had to do with personality, other times it was more so a matter preferred color palettes or fashion aesthetics. Looking around at his friends, Jaime could pinpoint pretty easily what time of year fit who the best.
Gar did best in the spring, when the flowers bloomed, animals were out, and everything was all around green.
Summer was reserved for the more happy-go-lucky members of the team; like M’gann or Dick. The people who always seemed to bring smiles to everyone’s faces and brighten the mood on what could have otherwise been a sour day.
Personally, Jaime pegged himself as more of a winter. Winter was cold, and while he didn't consider himself cold-hearted by any means, he wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy. He was well aware how awkward and standoffish he could appear when meeting someone; his mother always did say first impressions were the most important.
Winter was constantly colored in blue and white, and while white wasn't exactly his color… Well… Blue was in his name. Blue was the color of his suit, heck, it was the color permanently fused into his spine. So Jaime had to be winter.
It fit him… Didn't it?
But fall? Autumn? It was as if everything about that season was designed for one person in particular. Autumn was just for Bart. In all seventeen years of his life, Jaime had never met someone who so perfectly reflected everything a seemingly arbitrary collection of months had to offer. But somehow, against all odds, Bart did just that.
Bart was brilliant red and burnt orange, crossing over butternut squash and an hazelnut to make an earthy plaid. He was the rainbow of leaves that all change colors, falling at different times, but matching so effortlessly with his auburn hair. He was stepping on each one, hearing that satisfying crunch, sometimes almost too quickly when the speedster would run.
He was a hand-me-down flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Wearing the same free tee shirt he got at the Keystone county fair over and over again because he thought the cartoon pig on the front looked funny. Not being sure if he should bring a jacket or not because the morning was such a different temperature from the afternoon. Bart was the scent of nutmeg and cinnamon in decaf iced latte; decaf because he most definitely did not need the energy boost, and iced because the guy would always swear up and down that he could handle the cold drink, even when it was chilly out, but he’d always start shivering not even halfway through it, so he always ends up stealing Jaime’s hot apple cider.
The speedster was an all you can eat pumpkin pie, smothered in whipped cream until you couldn’t see the pastry any more. He was hot apple crumble, fresh out of the oven, slightly burnt and a little two tart because someone forgot to buy sugar again. Bart was apple spice body soaps and butterscotch hand creams, because his skin would crack from wearing gray and black striped fingerless gloves too long.
Bart was tearing down country backroads, where pavement turned to gravel and dusts, running just a step below top speed, because it made the leave swirl behind him like a little tornado. The brightest smile Jaime had ever seen in his entire life was plastered across the speedsters face. It was enchanting. Yeah. Bart Allen thrived in the fall.
There was only one time Jaime ever brought this little quarry up; while Bart laughed through the many layers of a knit scare that was way too long for him.
“Fall is your season.” The words slips out before he actually had the time to think about it.
Pale green eyes looked up in a cocktail of wonder and amusement. “Whaddaya mean?”
Jaime brought a hand up and scratched the back of his neck. He looked down at his feet and kicked the toe of his converse sneakers into the mud-covered pavement the currently stood on. “You remind me of the fall.”
“That’s cute.” There was a slight crackle in Bart’s voice as he laughed. He reached a hand into Jaime’s sweatshirt pocket for one of his hands, intertwining their fingers. “It’s kinda funny though. You remind me of a season too.”
“What? Which one?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Bart beamed up at Jaime, an eyebrow raised to highlight just how strongly he believed in this. “You remind me of summer.”

Puff Bar Flavor Test 2019
Let’s be honest, no one really likes taking tests. But we know one test that vape fans will absolutely enjoy taking; the Puff Bar Flavor Test. Best of all, there’s no studying required! Find out for yourself whether the Puff Bar Pod Device passes the test for even the most discerning palettes.
It starts with an amazing array of flavors that will impress you every time. That’s because the people at Puff Bar understand that every vape session should be enjoyed to the fullest, and they take pride in making sure that every Puff Bar Pod tastes great from start to finish. They know because Puff Bar Disposable Devices have to pass their own tests for quality and flavor before they’re shipped for sale.
Enjoy Amazing E-Juice Flavors
You owe it to yourself to take the challenge and see if you agree with some of our staff’s personal taste tests:
Banana ICE: A refreshing experience that’s the next best thing to a banana split sundae. Peel open the package and dive in, no spoon required. Don’t let Banana ICE slip away as it’s offered for a limited time. Whipped cream and cherries not included. disposable vape
Mango: Slowly inhale and you’ll imagine yourself on a tropical beach reaching for the sunscreen.
O.M.G.: With a flavor combo of Orange, Mango, and Grapefruit, this one pretty much wrote the study guide on flavor and the name says it all. Test it out and you’ll understand why.
Cafe Latte: This rich flavor will absolutely wake you up so you can smell the coffee. It tastes so good you don’t need to add sugar.
Peach ICE: There’s nothing quite like the mellow, satisfying taste of a nice peach. And the thing that’s great about this Puff Bar Flavor is that you don’t have to worry about peach juice running down your chin onto your shirt. No napkin needed to enjoy all the cool flavor!
Lychee ICE: One of Puff Bar’s more exotic flavors, Lychee nuts are commonly described as having a sweet, floral taste and aroma. Lychee ICE reminds some people of a cool grape flavor, others say it tastes like watermelon or pears. Let us know if it passes your palette test!
Lush ICE: Speaking of watermelon, Lush ICE tastes like a warm summer day with watermelon and menthol to cool things off.
Pineapple Lemon: This sweet and sour combo is perfect when you want to mix things up a bit. This one passes the bar with flying colors.
Cucumber: Take a trip to the garden and enjoy the refreshing, distinct taste of perfectly ripe cucumbers. For fun, ask a fellow vape fan to close their eyes, try it, and describe the flavor.
Blueberry: One of our staffers used to eat wild blueberries right off the bush in his back yard. It was his own personal reward after mowing the lawn on hot summer days. After taking a puff of Blueberry, it reminded him of how much he enjoyed that feeling. This time though, he didn’t need a mower. Test it out for yourself and see if it brings any good memories back for you.
Tobacco: This traditional E-Juice flavor definitely passes the smell and flavor test. For those vape aficionados that enjoy pure tobacco flavor, try this one out and let us know if you agree. It’s a new school way of going old school but without the tests.
Vaping is a Personal Pleasure
Puff Bar understands that people use vaping products for a variety of reasons. In the end, it comes down to personal pleasure and enjoyment. They know that offering rich, consistent flavors play a big role in people’s purchasing decisions. That’s a challenge they happily accept because they know they’ll pass the test and make the grade.
