Can someone knowledgeable on how color and sight work explain to me why I pass online color blindness tests 100% but my family swears to me I can't see certain shades of green.
I got confused when my sister asked me to grab her green jacket from her bedroom and got legitimately frustrated with me when I came back out and said I couldn't find it and she went in and saw it lying on her chair in plain sight, but it looks bright blue to me, same with my carpet, it looks green to my family and a dirty cyan blue to me. My dad recently asked me if I saw his old green car in the garage, I said no but I saw his black one, he said he didn't have a black car, I lead him to it and pointed to it and he called the whole family out to come look at the car and ask them what color it is, they all said green. It looks like a lighter shade of black/really dark gray to me. I can see green so I don't know if I'm being pranked and this is a family inside joke or what. I guess it's not too concerning because I can see green traffic lights but I'm still wondering if I legitimately can't see certain shades of green and why online color blind tests are telling me I have perfect vision.

And the funny thing is, Wester being a werewolf could be SO effective for angst, but then he ended up being quite possibly the least angsty character that I have.
He likes being a werewolf, he has control over it, sure it has its downsides (like not being able to eat chocolate anymore), but for the most part it's cool really? And sometimes people throw balls he can chase? Hell yeah.

You are Universe looking back at itself
(Guys, brace yourself because it is not going to be your usual post.)
I don't know if you guys understand why it is "assumption".
The thing we see, hear, smell, touch, taste. They aren't real. I'm not trying to say the same thing again and again.
I'm not emotional blackmailing you to have faith in imagination in order to have your desires in 3D. But I'm telling you to have faith in imagination because it is the only truth. The source creation.
If the 3D is actually real and vivid as it seems,
there wouldn't be Ageusia, Dysgeusia, Color Blindness, Anosmia, Anaphia and literally tons other mental illness or disorders.
Dysgeusia: A condition where taste is distorted, leading to unusual or unpleasant flavors. Color blindness: A deficiency in color vision, usually involving difficulty distinguishing between certain colors. Dysacusis: A hearing disorder where sounds are distorted or unclear, making them hard to understand despite normal hearing. Anosmia: The total loss of the sense of smell, often caused by damage to the olfactory system Anaphia: The loss or impairment of the sense of touch, often due to nerve or brain damage.
Similarly between them?
"In short, they all relate to disruptions in the way the body processes sensory information."
Now, what proves that our entire lives that what we feel is not a distortion?
our brain? the only thing that distorts?
science? the thing is which is created by human brain?
These disorders happens due to a change in neural pathway in brains or due to medical treatment of which it affects the brain of some people which alters their entire reality.
People with color blindess don't know that their brain cannot see certain colors until other people make that person aware. Only then, the person with the color blindness gets aware of their condition, so till then... That person assumes that is their reality because that's what consciousness does.
So now, what if everyone on earth had color blindness?
It would simply just be the 'true reality'.
Brain provides distortion and consciousness accepts which then repeated becomes a belief in deep subconscious mind.
Nothing is "truth". We don't actually see 3D but the brain repeats us the old assumptions again and again.
That's why 3D is a reflection of our own mind.
The assumptions doesn't affect the 3D but becomes the 3D.
Assumptions are the true reality, 4D is the true reality.
Whether new or old, there is no "true reality" out there. (link)
There is no active 3D existing. Everything is 4D. Your so called material world is just interpreted by your brain through sensory nerves. You were always living in your head.
"Oh but why do need something external like water if we only live in our head?"
Because you exist in a physical body at this moment. Your body needs it. You don't. So you can actually shift to a reality where you don't need water.
Our physical never had to suffer or endure pain, we were provided with abundant water, minerals, trees which ripe fruits, vegetables, human physical and mental strength to power other creatures since the dawn.
"Oh then why do we innovate new physical objects if it already exists in 4D?"
Because we are source of creation. Our imagination, 4D. We don't just create out of no where. Just like how the airplane was a fantasy of the Wright brothers before it came into existence. We imagine something, we drive in creating.
Everything that is existing right now is a fantasy of the creator.
We are a mere fantasy of I am.
We are the I am conceived in human form who then forgot ourselves and became a dream character.
When we are first born, our subconscious develops at 6months. The duty of subconscious is solely to protect and serve you. The baby in the womb knows how to suck milk from the mother. Your subconscious protects you now and forever, you then develop consciousness which has the possibility to change the subconscious belief considering changes in adaptation in surroundings and to mend with the society.
That's why kids are very 'spongy' from 6-8yrs. Their conscious and subconscious both are developing together. This is where their majority life's belief starts forming deep onto their subconscious.
(Your subconsciousness is why you are here, making you able to read this at the moment. Heart beat, lungs functioning etc. It developed long ago and is consciously listening, it can't process every thoughts like consciousness, it just simply takes you as the dominant thought)
You get adapted to 3D and forget about 4D.
So it becomes 3D-> 4D->3D (old assumptions becomes 'true'.)
instead of 4D-> 3D-> 4D (you create assumption, your own reality which then becomes the 'true').
You are only truth, I am.
Whatever state you associate yourself with after that is an illusion that you can choose to be.
Anything is possible to I am.
You were/are/will be void forever.
You are whatever you desire and get conscious of.

Hello, I've been looking through all the links in your pinned post, but just to be sure, is it okay if I ask a few questions regarding on 2 of my prominent characters?
1) One of my characters' eyesight had been degrading since they were young, and though they now take special antiobiotics and treatment to prevent further loss of vision, they're only able to perceive shadows, light, and colors (which largely depends on contrast and lighting of the surroundings). Their cane is their main mobility aid in day-to-day life, but when in combat, they use a device similar to the Focus from Horizon: Zero Dawn. Moving targets like enemies or allies are highlighted/outlined with bright colors to indicate where they are, the colors symbolizing who they are. The device is also capable of scanning text or objects and transcribing them in audio form through an earpiece. I've done my best to research how my character's device can be useful for their lifestyle, but not negate or make their blindness an easily bypassed part of their life, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
2) One of my characters has partial blindess caused by a serious injury to the left side of their face. Their injured eye can only perceive some light and shadow, which affects their depth perception quite a bit. Relying on only one eye has caused strain on their uninjured eye, so they have nearsightedness and need glasses to prevent further damage. This character felt more comfortable to write for me because I'm also nearsighted, although to a lesser degree than my character, and my glasses are mostly to protect my eyes from worsening. So far, I've used my own habits and experiences to describe my character's, but since they are partially blind (which they compensate for by memorizing or mapping out their surroundings, training and practice to determine actual distance, and guides (family and close friends)), my own experiences are hardly enough to make my character seem more realistic. I'd like to ask if there are any mistakes I've made with writing them?
For the first one, I suggest adapting already-existing technology, such as the OrCam MyEye or the Sunu Band. OrCam is worn on glasses and is a device that can already detect surroundings and read text. It can also tell you when someone you know is approaching, such as a neighbor whose face the device recognizes. I don’t know how accurate it is, but I find it helpful to acknowledge that some of these gadgets already exist for realism and accuracy. They are not made up devices that might hypothetically help blind people; they are real and usually invented by people in the blind community themselves.
You can explain that you modeled it after the OrCam or it could be a specialized version of it that includes other features. Color coded enemies and teammates also seems plausible considering OrCam’s recognition feature.
Here is a video demonstrating the OrCam My Eye Pro. You can also go to their website here or look them up on YouTube for more videos.
Please note that some of the features can be found elsewhere or replaced with techniques. For example, someone who folds or organizes their money a certain way or uses a money reader probably wouldn’t need the money identification part of the product. Certain people will like certain features more than others, which could also provide characterization.
While this product is not an option for everyone due to the price, it may be accessible in the scenario you described.
You can also avoid negating their blindness by showing how it impacts them in other ways. A few examples may include navigation techniques, lighting preferences, home layout, assistive devices used at home, how they choose to read (audiobooks, trying to find Braille books they like that are actually available), eye strain, sensory issues, stimulation seeking, interactions with the blind community, sports and activities, etc.
Glasses for protection and the other stuff you outlined sounds good to me.
I love that they use a cane during the day, but what about orientation and navigating uneven ground? I ask because the technology you plan to use during combat scenes wouldn’t help with locating uneven ground or steps.
Could they use the cane for navigating in combat?
While on the subject, a Sunu band might also be helpful. It detects objects at and above waist level. However, it is not a replacement for a cane.
As for your second character, eye strain and fatigue are absolutely going to happen as you described. Your character might sometimes cover their injured eye to reduce strain. They may also need more frequent breaks from use of their uninjured eye, such as when reading or doing desk work.
Taking breaks from screens helps. Managing lighting also helps, such as having enough light to avoid strain, although nothing too harsh. For migraines or eye pain, they might carry medication. At home, they can use hot or cold compresses in addition to eye masks to rest their eyes.
So far, what you have described sounds good. Your own experience should be useful in writing this character. However, I also suggest considering how they navigate stairs and uneven ground when walking. Another common obstacle that arises for people with no depth perception is accidentally dropping cups. To circumvent this, it is helpful to use high contrast, avoid glass, and/or intentionally set the cup on the counter before releasing it.
Lastly, I wanted to add that people with partial vision will often be expected or pressured to rely on it. This character might need to self-advocate, as they could still benefit from audio descriptions, screen-readers, and other assistive technology.
If anyone else has ideas, feel free to share in the notes.
Hope this helps.

Or no I just realized what if the reason Curtían made most of the stuff at the institute yellow and blue is because he actually has red-green color blindness, and can see blues and yellows easier, that would actually explain his whole aesthetic.
really thinking about curtain accidentally drinking paint water. so many possibilities. sq realizes hes switched the mugs but its too late when he yells for his dad to stop--but curtain hadnt noticed, because he secretly hates coffee and only drinks it for appearances + energy, and genuinely was just like "i thought the coffee had gone cold bc it tastes just as bad". sq realizes he grabbed the wrong mug just after his dad takes a sip, and curtain closes his eyes right after. sets the mug down. stone faced, asks sq did you just dip your paintbrush in my coffee. sq is mortified (and possibly a little scared of his reaction). but then curtain starts laughing. curtain realizes its paint water the second his lips touch the mug but wants to save face so he drinks a whole long swig with a straight face and burning eyes. (pre-redemption hes doing this for appearances sake/control but if its post-redemption then hes doing it for The Bit because he utterly commits and is a thousand times worse around his brother.) alternatively he takes a long gulp then immediately spits paint water everywhere, including all over sq and possibly his painting, and they're both just left staring wide-eyed at each other and then end up laughing and sq was kind of paralyzed that his dad would get angry and yell at him but it was one of the few times it didn't and it's kind of sad that that's a fond memory for him.

Shadow Knight Headcannons so I can stop spamming my friend about them
•SK are made though like a mixture of blood, shadow and dark magic. Sometimes some fire magic seeps in there too because the nether is full of fire magic.
• To transform someone into a shadow Knight their soul must be literally torn apart and rebuilt. Like making paper out of paper. Ya gotta toss em in the blender to get stuff done :)
• Shadow Knights can make any wepon of their choice when in their SK form as long as they know how to make it.
• They can create a gun if given the knowledge.
•zenix has tried to make them but he almost blew off a part of his arm when he shot it
• That being said any long range wepon (gun, bow n arrow, cross bow) has infinite ammo. just after a point it goes so far from their body it disappears since they cant create or keep their wepons existing far from their body
• their armor and weapons are made out of netherite! Pure netherite!
• they have fangs because why not.
• screw it all of their teeth are really sharp.
•they purr. They also cuff. like that thing that tiger do as a friendly greeting
•If ya grab them really hard right behind both of the ears where the jaw meets the neck they freeze. Like they can't move. It's a much more passive but harder way to get a SK to stop attacking people. But good luck getting that close to them without getting stabbed
•because of this the me'faws are the most excepting to non-hostile Shadow Knights
•Shadow Nights stay in pairs when not in an army thingy. Because being left alone in the nether is a death sentence for many but more then two leaves room for betrayal
•that being said it has to be a SK of someone within relatively the same sort of power or age or something I forgot what.
•the Ultima is an off shoot of a Shadow Knight after someone got frisky with a werewolf
•its much easier to turn a man into a Shadow Knight than a women. think of it like how color blindess works interms of genes (HA).
•For other gender or no genders it really just depends
• Most SK are infertile
•emphasis on most
• SK are very sensitive to magic similar to them
•they also use their magic to communicate instead of words most of the time. So they can have a whole conversation from very far away from each other not saying a single word
there is more I'm just to tired to think rn

Finally, some faceblindness solidarity and recognition for us, and it's funny Every Single Time. The Hat makes a Perry, which is helpful considering the very high number of platypi in the Tri State Area, though only one will have The Hat.
pls let this blow up like the other one
