"The Jump"

On the bridge of the Unyielding Legion, tension hung heavy in the air as alarms blared and lights flashed. The view on the central holoscreen was nothing short of apocalyptic. High Charity, the Covenant's holy city, was being consumed by the Flood and threatened to devour all in its path. Fleet wide communications were a mess -- with stressed broadcasts requesting support from all levels of the Covenant and confusing reports about the Jiralhanae murdering Sangheili, none of which could be confirmed amongst the chaos.

Iema ‘Zykuree, having been rescued from High Charity right as the Flood invaded, watched in grim silence as the once-mighty city became overrun by the infection. It was hard to process the level of destruction that was unfolding before her. "High Charity…" Her tone was hushed, green eyes never leaving the holoscreen, "It's falling. We don't have much time." The grip on her weapon tightened.

Hnro ‘Vadumee, the Special Operations Commander, received reports from various sections of the Unyielding Legion. The Flood had infiltrated the ship, and they were battling the parasitic abominations throughout the vessel. With an electronic sizzle, he drew his Energy Sword. "Ready your blades, I'm receiving reports of Flood on our ship," he relayed the grim news to Erdu ‘Cololee, who stood at a station on the bridge, his mandibles clenched with determination as information scrolled on the screen rapidly.

Erdu's deep, resonating voice broke through the tension. "Prepare for a slipspace jump. We cannot allow the Flood to take this ship." His commanding presence inspired a renewed sense of purpose in the room.

Ytol ‘Valasmee, ever the loyal warrior, stepped forward. "What is our heading?" he asked, even though he knew the truth. In this dire moment, there was no predetermined destination. They would have to jump randomly, into unknown territory.

Erdu turned to face Ytol, his eyes unwavering. "There is no heading. We must jump blindly, away from this nightmare." His words carried the weight of their dire situation.

Sraz ‘Rotumee, usually reserved and unyielding, couldn't contain his disbelief. "By the Rings… Alert the warriors." He muttered to himself, but his resolve remained unshaken. "I never thought I would see the day when the Unyielding Legion faced such a catastrophe."

The crew on the bridge moved with purpose, preparing for the desperate escape from High Charity and the encroaching Flood threat. The holoscreen continued to display the grim spectacle of High Charity's fall. In the face of overwhelming adversity, the Sovereign Guard would have no choice but to jump in to the unknown so they could fight another day.
