The Pitt - Episode 5

•Dr.Santos is definitely that doctor character that needs a hubris check and it’s probably coming soon. Santos clashing with Dr.Langdon and wanting to report him while Dr.Whitaker has a moment of pure admiration for Langdon and Robby makes me think that those wires will cross soon somehow. like maybe she tells Whitaker about her desire to report Langdon and Whitaker is like “from what i saw he’s great!” that or Dr.Garcia comes into play somehow

•Robby has a son?? Dr.Collins and Dr.Robby ex-lovers confirmation?? is he the father of her baby, YES OR NO?? i feel like Collins saying they had a thing years ago is a misdirection so we don’t think he’s the father but they hooked up recently enough for her to get pregnant

•we know that Collins has miscarried before so my theory is that Collins and Robby had a similar situation to DrHawkins and Nurse Nic Nevin (may she rest in peace) on The Resident on Fox. on The Resident, Nic and Hawkins experienced a miscarriage when they were together but weren’t seriously committed the first time around, which affected their ability to be together until years later despite having feelings for each other.

•the patient stories this episode really got to me. the mom with the burn injury and the woman who’s her mom’s caregiver were especially sad to me. i can’t imagine how exhausted that woman is as the sole caregiver of her mother but her mother being wheeled back to the waiting room and her daughter is nowhere to be found oh my gosh that was so sad

•the scene of that mom refusing to allow her daughter an abortion was driving me up the wall omg like girl the pill is in your hand. take it. take it. take it. take it. omg just take it. no water in sight? no problem. swallow the pill dry. like it’s really that serious. it’d be different if she seemed like had doubts about aborting but she seemed so grateful to have made the cutoff so that doesn’t seem to be the case

Pairing: Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch x Wife!Reader

Summary: No one at The Pitt knows you and Dr. Robby are married. You’ve kept it quiet, professional—because that’s who he is. You respect the boundaries. The secrecy. But today, none of that matters.

Warnings: Miscarriage

Author's Note: Yes, this is the third Dr. Robby fic I've posted in a row. WHO CARES?! Also Dr. Collins baby is Robby's argue with the wall.

The shift passed in a blur.

Rounds. Charts. A code in the ICU. A patient yelling at you for an extra blanket. Things that should’ve mattered, things that used to matter, but none of it touched you now.

Not after what had happened in the bathroom.

Not after you had stared down at the blood, at the loss, at the life that had barely been there before it was gone.

You had gripped the sink so hard your knuckles went white. Told yourself to breathe. Told yourself you still had a shift to finish. That you could fall apart later, but not here. Not now.

And somehow, you had done it. You had walked out of that bathroom and kept moving. Kept being Dr. Robby’s wife in secret and Dr. Y/L/N in public. Kept working, answering pages, nodding along to conversations that felt like white noise.

Kept pretending you weren’t bleeding.

Kept pretending you weren’t breaking.

The second your shift was over, you slipped outside, fingers shaking as you lit a cigarette. You hadn’t smoked in years. Not since you and Robby decided to try for a baby. But now, standing in the cold air, lungs burning with something other than grief, you just needed something.

The slap came so fast you barely saw it.

The cigarette flew from your fingers, landing somewhere on the pavement.

“What the hell are you doing?”

Robby’s voice was sharp. Angry.

You looked up, numb, and saw his shift written all over him. The slight exhaustion in his eyes. The smudge of ink on his palm from too many charts. The way his arms flexed, hands clenching like he was trying to hold himself back.

You should say something.

You should tell him it doesn’t matter. That none of it does.

Instead, your voice came out flat. Distant.

“I lost the baby.”

Silence.

Everything stilled.

His expression didn’t change at first, like his brain was still catching up. Like he needed a second to process that sentence.

Then—slowly—his breath left him.

“What?”

The word barely made it past his lips.

Your throat burned. Your eyes didn’t water. You didn’t cry.

You just wrapped your arms around yourself and whispered, “I lost the baby, Robby.”

And that? That was when his entire body dropped.

Not literally, but you felt it. Felt the weight of his stance shift. The way his fingers flexed at his sides, like he didn’t know whether to grab you or run. Like he had been holding on to something so tightly and someone had just ripped it away.

The cigarette still smoldered between you, forgotten on the pavement.

Then, finally, Robby moved.

One second you were standing there, alone in your own grief, and the next you were against his chest, his arms wrapping around you like he could somehow shield you from what had already happened.

He didn’t say anything.

Didn’t tell you it would be okay. Didn’t offer empty reassurances.

He just held you.

And for the first time all day—maybe even all your life—you let yourself break.

The Pitt episode 7:

- Did not see that ending coming for Dr Collins this early. I really thought they would have it at min around ep 9 or closer to the finale, but I love that it sets up the rest of the season and how she will navigate whether to tell anyone (Lead Nurse may find out) or continuing to hide it and possibly works herself to becoming a patient and Robby finds out that way. Could definitely see fallout come finale.

- Oh Santos. Shes is still thee worse, but I am glad we finally got some kind of explanation to her attitude. I feel real bad for her but the way she handled everything was just speak forst, think later and it definitely will bote her in the ass. Maybe we find out the Dad disnt really dp it and it was someone else? Maybe the Dad tells on her when he can speak? Or maybe ahe made it worse for the daughter.

- Also what is Santos's endgame with Langdon? Os she trying to get him fired/reprimanded cause he dare question her tactics? Which probably leads to Langdon losing that possible promotion and she gets in trouble anyway.

- Mel: she is THEE best character and deserves the world. Imo, shes the character with the most depth, someone you can truly connect with. Also, I dont know where they are going with Mel x Langdon, but their scenes felt different and he was definitely in awe and smitten by the way she handled his patient...and who can blame him?

I have a similar theory but like its that they dated at one time, broke up but are still friends, and maybe hooked up at some point recently (maybe while drunk or something) and then were like no we're good as friends lets just call that a lapse in judgement. BUT then collins gets pregnant but decides she's gonna keep it.

although this doesn't account for robby not knowing it's his if he knows she's pregnant, which seems to be common knowledge? Idk there's definitely some mystery there.

THE PITT - 3:00PM (1x09)

Bringing this back around as S3 draws nearer...

The last scene in Time of Contempt between Jaskier and Geralt is what I consider the Witcher equivalent of the scene between Sam and Frodo at the river at the end of Fellowship. Geralt decides to track down Ciri on his own. Jaskier insists he's coming along (while implying that he cares as much about Ciri and feels as much responsibility for her as Geralt does).

Imagine that scene but they just go, "Fuck it, it's not like the show's lasting long after this!" And they take that scene between Frodo and Sam, and make it even gayer, as gay as they possibly can.

At this point, I think that, for the last scene between Jaskier and Henry Cavill as Geralt, they just need to shoot the moon like SPN did where they just went, "Let's just make Destiel canon. What are they gonna do, cancel the show that's already over?"

Like, remember the chaos when that episode aired? Where it felt like surely that scene couldn't be real? Where Destiel trended higher than the 2020 presidential election and there were all those Putin memes? The rogue voice dubber who made the "I love you" line explicitly romantic?

This especially applies if Joey Batey decides to leave, too.

Just, go for it. Like, avoid the weird Bury Your Gays bit where Cas coming out is literally what killed him but then it got weird because they kind of undid it by bringing him back but never showing him again and only mentioning him once. That was terrible writing/editing (so, perfect for Netflix's the Witcher, actually) and reeked of the Powers That Be wanting to minimize the existence of canon Destiel at the last minute.

But otherwise, just go for it. You don't have to recreate the scene. But go big or go home on this. Make it as dramatic and angsty as possible. Make sure the subtext becomes text to the fullest extent that the Powers That Be will possibly let you get away with. Make Tumblr and the internet at large spontaneously combust the way that Castiel's love confession did.

And then go off and live your lives free and clear. Act in stories where the people in charge actually respect you and your character. Play more D&D. Write more songs.

Or start your own production company with your significant other so you can then figure out how to make sure the story ends up in your hands, giving you an opportunity to course-correct with the help of a writer who actually cared about LGBTQ+ representation. See Jensen Ackles for how to do this.

Actually, since Jensen is co-producing The Winchesters while also acting and recording (and I think there's an upcoming tour with Louden Swain?) , it's not like it's an either/or situation. Dude's just living his best life never letting Dean Winchester go (or maybe Dean's not letting him go) while also making more music and having fun in other roles. What I'm saying here is to consult Jensen re: life choices in the creative industry.

(Also, I now kind of want to see Joey as an earlier Cas vessel. Just, imagine Joey "might be a half-feral Fae creature from the dark depths of the forest" Batey playing the rebellious angel with "too much heart" to follow orders as he's literally programmed to do. Especially since this would be before Cas got to know more about humanity, so he'd still be pretty eldritch at this point, a "multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent" temporarily wearing a human body.)

because i constantly go back and forth. robby’s “you let fear drive your decision making” seemed like a heavy innuendo that makes me think that she pulled away when the relationship got too heavy but from the way she was acting so hostile to him in the first episode and him constantly attempting to seek out her attention and initiating the conversations first are making me think it’s him trying to absolve himself from hurting her / pushing her away (possibly after adamson’s death).
