"The heck are you doing?"

"The heck does it look like?" You bat back, leaning back from the fridge. "I'm gonna make dinner."

"I told you I would handle dinner tonight."

"Well, you've been running errands all day and I'm hungry now."

"Which is why I got takeout—Put those away," Robby waves at the few ingredients on the counter. You arch a brow, eyeing the bags that he sets down on your table.

"What'd you get?" You ask, nodding toward it.

"Chinese. Beef and broccoli, cashew chicken, fried dumplings."

"Crab rangoon?"

"You really think I'd let myself come home without crab rangoon?" He teases, crossing the kitchen. "It's like you don't know me at all."

You grin as he cups your cheeks, drawing you in for a warm kiss. You wince halfway through it, the cramping in your belly making your face twist as you lean back.

"You take anything yet?" Robby asks knowingly. You don't bother to ask how he knows. You don't think that he's actively tracking your cycle, but you wouldn't put it past him; even if he isn't, he's an observant guy.

"Is that why you got half of the food you got?" You counter.

"You need iron right now. You'll feel better." He pinches your cheek before turning away to unpack the food. "So?"

"No. I wanted to eat something first."

"Spoonful of peanut butter, wash it down with one of your protein shakes."

"Now?"

"Next time. If you have it now, you'll spoil your dinner."

You roll your eyes, fighting back a smile as you load the ingredients that you took out back into the fridge.

"Put the sponge down."

"There isn't much to wash."

"So I'll do it, go relax."

"Robby," You warn, turning to face him. "Just 'cause I'm bleeding—"

"I know you're perfectly capable," He soothes before you can get too riled. "I also know that you've been on your feet for twelve hours, and I had the day off. Go watch something, read something, whatever. Put your feet up. I've got these."

You consider him for a moment before you reach up, hooking your hands in his hoodie and tugging him in for a kiss. You feel the soft turn-up of his smile against his lips, his hands settling on your hips. He gives them a gentle squeeze before he uses the hold to nudge you away from the sink with a murmur of, "Go on."

"Incoming."

"Mm?" You let your eyes stray from the tv, shifting slightly from where you've laid down on the couch, tucked in with a sleeping pad and a cozy blanket. You smile when an iced cream sandwich is lowered into your view. You take it with an excited little wiggle, and lean back as Robby drops a kiss to the top of your head.

You tip your head back further as he leans away.

"Where were you hiding this?"

"Picked it up while I was out."

"You sneak."

"There's a fresh bag of peanut butter cups in the cabinet."

"Careful, Michael. Keep this up and I'm gonna be tempted to put a ring on it."

Truly nothing in this show is more anxiety inducing than waiting for the moment when Dr. Robby will finally be allowed to pee

The Pitt - Episode 5

•Dr.Santos is definitely that doctor character that needs a hubris check and it’s probably coming soon. Santos clashing with Dr.Langdon and wanting to report him while Dr.Whitaker has a moment of pure admiration for Langdon and Robby makes me think that those wires will cross soon somehow. like maybe she tells Whitaker about her desire to report Langdon and Whitaker is like “from what i saw he’s great!” that or Dr.Garcia comes into play somehow

•Robby has a son?? Dr.Collins and Dr.Robby ex-lovers confirmation?? is he the father of her baby, YES OR NO?? i feel like Collins saying they had a thing years ago is a misdirection so we don’t think he’s the father but they hooked up recently enough for her to get pregnant

•we know that Collins has miscarried before so my theory is that Collins and Robby had a similar situation to DrHawkins and Nurse Nic Nevin (may she rest in peace) on The Resident on Fox. on The Resident, Nic and Hawkins experienced a miscarriage when they were together but weren’t seriously committed the first time around, which affected their ability to be together until years later despite having feelings for each other.

•the patient stories this episode really got to me. the mom with the burn injury and the woman who’s her mom’s caregiver were especially sad to me. i can’t imagine how exhausted that woman is as the sole caregiver of her mother but her mother being wheeled back to the waiting room and her daughter is nowhere to be found oh my gosh that was so sad

•the scene of that mom refusing to allow her daughter an abortion was driving me up the wall omg like girl the pill is in your hand. take it. take it. take it. take it. omg just take it. no water in sight? no problem. swallow the pill dry. like it’s really that serious. it’d be different if she seemed like had doubts about aborting but she seemed so grateful to have made the cutoff so that doesn’t seem to be the case

I love random text posts, and the return of John Babygirl Carter.

Throughout the entirety of my participation in fandom, I have always used creating pic spams (is this even what the kids are calling it nowadays??) as a creative outlet. If you search the tags on page, you'll find a fuck ton.

I started watching the new medical drama on HBO, The Pitt--staring BABYGIRL!CARTER. Okay, it's not Carter. It's Noah Wyle in new ER-esque character. I hate to be like "this show has everything!" but this show has EVERYTHING!!! It's currently number one on HBO streaming, which I was shocked by. There's only seven episodes so far. If you watched ER, WATCH THIS! If you just love medical drama, WATCH THIS! If you like watching a hot and cranky doctor constantly put on his reading glasses, WATCH THIS!

Anyway, to circle back around, in between watching new episodes of The Pitt, I am once again watching ER. Started in season six, currently in season seven. In order to help cope with Big Feelings, I am going to be starting with pic spams, again. Mainly Carter/Abby.

Okay, as a recent fanatic of The Pitt I can't help but notice the parallels between The Pitt and ER (to the point where the Crichton estate threatened to sue over the similarities, which is a whole other bag of worms I'll explore a different day), but while many people see Noah Wyle's Dr. Michael Robinavitch, aka Dr. Robby, as an older, wiser John Carter, I'm starting to see Victoria Javadi as the new John Carter.

She's a young wiz kid whose mother also works at the hospital and, from the brief interacts we've seen, expects her to be as successful as her previous generations. But she's also a minority at a time where there's more overt racism than there's been in a while and she's expected doubly to really prove herself against those ugly voices. She's very nice, but she does get defensive when people bring up her age or her connections. There's a part of me where I wonder, if, like John Carter did when he started out, she deep down sees herself as less deserving than her peers. That would be interesting to explore and Shabana Azeez, who is WONDERFUL, would more than be up for the task.
