Every time, every single time, anybody is raped in India, it gets brushed off, and when once in a while it reaches the national television, the general public stages protests and screams for justice, yet nothing truly comes out of it.
A resident doctor getting brutally raped and killed just days before India's independence day shows just how far behind India is. Economically we might be progressing but we keep on stepping back when it comes to protecting our women or people in general.
She was found in a half naked condition, bleeding from her privates and other parts with her pelvis broken. Even in such a bad state, the hospital didn't allow her parents to even see her, lied to them that she commited suicide. Only after hours of waiting were they allowed to look at their daughter.
Just last year, India had its major Shraddha Walker case. She had been cut to pieces by her boyfriend and kept in the fridge until he slowly disposed every piece off in different areas. There was widespread rahe and anger. People were disgusted, they revolted but soon the news died down and now nobody's sure what happened. And this happens every single time.
This independence day, what do we even have to celebrate? We most certainly do not feel free. A place where even my workplace could be my crime scene is not a place I would like to celebrate. This revolt will go on, and then it will die down and then, it will start all over again, every time, every single time.

indian women are in a constant state of vigilance, like a country on terrorist alert. no democracy is a democracy when half its population lives in fear. the paradox is that women have protected men and their families by keeping quiet. this is honourable behaviour, a part of our "honourable society''. what rape statistics really reflect is a vicious cultural agreement that women have little value. which means in turn that girls must be trained to act as if they do not exist, to minimise their presence to survive, to serve men and not inconvenience them. this is how India treats women. rape culture does not begin with rape. rape is the most extreme form of it. until catcalling, stalking, harassment, groping, spark the same outrage as assault and murder, the problem will persist. it is unbelievable how low men can and have stooped, even after such a gruesome murder

I'm highly disturbed by the r*pe and m*rder which happened in RG KAR MEDICAL college... our society should be ashamed... Medical is a noble profession, but now a doctor is not safe in her own workplace... I hope people demand the strictest punishment for it rather than making this more of a political issue. I urge you to see how brutal and heinous this was. Security of doctors isn't a joke.. Medical is a great, reputed profession in India that demands your whole life, literally and figuratively. WHAT WAS HER FAULT!!??.. SHE WAS BRUTALLY KILLED!!!!! HOW TF IS A SEMINAR ROOM THAT UNSAFE!!??
Be angry. Be ashamed. Be disturbed.
We failed her as a society.

For the ones unaware, an on-duty female doctor was brutally raped and murdered on the night of August 9th in India. There have been waves of mass protests all over the country regarding this issue.
The doctor, a junior resident working a 36 hours shift was resting in the hospital's seminar hall when she was subjected to this gruesome torment. Her body was found in an incomprehensible state half-naked in the same seminar hall the next morning.
I urge you to stand by truth. This is something no woman should face, after multiple years of studying and training, we do not enter this field to be subjected to inhumane treatment.
I was born to live.
I was born to dream.
I was born to achieve.
Any other human deserves the same chance at life that you and I do.
Don't let your silence become an enabling factor for inhumanity.

CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST WOMEN, ITS HER FAULT?
RG KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE&HOSPITAL, THE HEINOUS ACTS
Tumblr media
NOTE: THIS POST HAS INFO SOLELY BASED ON MY OWN RESEARCH, SOURCES FROM THE NEWS AND INTERNET SO CREDS OF SS TO THE OWNERS. if you have any other information regarding this case, please please do feel free to reblog this and share them, as i can't compile everything in one post due to the case being an ongoing one. I would appreciate if you could read all of it, I tried to keep it short and compact and easy enough for everyone to understand. Of course, I have to keep a few names and specific political parties and critism out of this for obvious reasons of this post being taken down, but trust me, karma is real.
Do tell me if I lack anything, will try my best to add it or make another post about it. WE WANT JUSTICE.
Tumblr media
01 TAKE HER NAME, DON'T FORGET HER
Dr. Moumita Debnath, a junior female doctor, a 2nd year PGT at R G KAR medical college and hospital was gang r4ped and m4rdered in the college seminar hall, while she was in a 36 hr shift, in 9th of August, 2024, Kolkata.
R G KAR, a reputed college and hospital, only allowing the top of brains to enter its premises, has now lost it's name to this heinous crime. Moumita debnath's perpetrators live to this day and the college authorities are yet to pay any heed. Why?
That poor girl was bleeding from her eyes, vagina, with disfigured limbs and broken collarbones, bite marks, broken pelvic girdle and hyoid bone several other signs of struggle and violence ( attached report below ) Even her legs were forcefully coaxed apart, that her bones were broken. 150 gms of sperm was have been discovered from her body, when a male individual can only transfer a maximum of 15 gms. Can you imagine her pain? What did she do to deserve this pain and suffering, this heinous crime against her? Can you imagine how her parents must have felt to hear the news?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, I forgot. This absolute blood boiling, gut wrenching and demonic of an act was immediately announced as a "SU3CIDE" upon initial FIR, and to her parents, by authorities. Can't you see? How they tried to coarctate the matter by calling it a su3cide?
How can a girl with extreme signs of violence and r4pe on her body, with little to no clothes, broken limbs, bleeding eyes, commit a su4cide? THIS IS A BLOT ON THE AUTHORITIES WHO ARE CLEARING VIEWING THIS MATTER AS A JOKE no girl in that condition can commit a su3cide, do you really think people are THAT DUMB?? that we won't notice you trying to cover up this case??
02 TAMPER THE EVIDENCE, HIDE THE CRIMINAL
Dr. Moumita Debnath's body was cremated without her parents' approval/permission. They were kept waiting for 3 fucking hours. As if to get rid of her body as soon as they can with minimal autopsy, before CBI could even start investigation.
As soon as this case was handed over from WBPD ( west bengal police department ) to CBI ( central bereau of intelligence ) mobs have barged in and LITERALLY DAMAGED THE WALLS BESIDE THE SEMINAR HALL ( the crime scene ) inside the college premises. And for what? Come on we know it all, for removal of some obvious evidence.
On 14th august, during the middle of the night which was during the ‘RAAT DOKHOLE MEYERA’ ( girls reclaim the night ) rally, in RG KAR, mobs yet again managed to infiltrate the college premises to cause damage again, this time targeting specific cctv cameras as well. They also vandalised public property and vehicles in a "profesional" way. — “MBBS student Anupam Roy, an eyewitness to the mob attack, said the mob's act was deliberate with the clandestine motive of ending their agitation.” — from Hindustan Times.
They even CAUSED HARM TO THE WASHROOMS OF THE FLOOR WHERE EVIDENCE COULD'VE BEEN FOUND. The motive of the mob is obvious— to tamper the evidence in order to protect the perpetrators.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
03. POLITICS BEFORE BASIC LAW & ORDER?
Political parties are busy blaming each other and throwing dirt on names, meanwhile also trying to hide the perpetrators and start protests against opposition parties. Is your political position and meaningless arguments more valuable than a girl's life which been lost so brutally? Can we not keep politics aside, just for a moment and try to bring the girl justice? These thick skinned selfish monsters don't feel the pain of her parents, the emotions of helpless women and the crime they're commiting themselves.
They are slowly shifting away from the main matter of bringing her justice, trying to coarctate is slowly by heavy politics. Well the public is not dumb, we can see it all and understand how our CM doesn't even care about this situation.
SHAME ON YOU, the authorities, you're are only hope in this city in this state and you're acting this way?! Do you not have spines? Is money and votes everything to you? How low is too low and why is it the west bengal government?
They even have an accused suspect in custody ( Sanjoy Roy ) whom everybody is calling a scapegoat, which he possibly could be regarding the governments recent inactivities towards the situation. They are even giving out orders to resist rallies and protests, such a fucking disgrace, cause then vandalism and tampering of evidence is right but not raising your voice against it?
04. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE?
This year marks the 77th independent year for India, but are we really? Women are not safe at night walking along the streets their own ancestors fought for, women are not safe in their own workplace working shifts, women are not safe in public transport, in their homes, neighbourhood, schools, colleges, NOWHERE ARE WE ALLOWED TO HAVE A PEACEFUL BREATHE. But for how long? It's been 12 years since we witnessed a similar, horrible and atrocious crime as NIRBHAYA, only for it to happen again. This shows how weak, corrupted, and unjust Indian judiciary system has become, and as an Indian myself, it ashames me deeply to admit this. We are failing as a society, still not being able to create a safe environment for our women.
But time has come now to raise our voice and fists together against this oppressive, corrupt government and snatch our own freedom ourselves. DONT YOU EVER FORGET ABOUT HER, TAKE AND HER NAME AND PROMISE YOURSELF TO BRING HER JUSTICE. If we forget and give up, god knows how many others will die like this without any justice. Justice is ours and we will have it, there is no point of being 'independent' if we have to do candle marches every other day, mourn for our women every other day, be scared of letting our daughter out every other day.
This is time, we rise up as one.
We want the actual criminals to be punished a hundred times more cruelly than Dr. Moumita Debnath was k!lied.
WE WANT JUSTICE. BRUTAL PUNISHMENT TO THE CRIMINALS.
ALL EYES ON RG KAR. ALL EYES ON DOCTORS. JUSTICE FOR MOUMITA DEBNATH.

Men fucking scare me.
Now, some are going to go like, "it's not all men", " Are you also scared of your dad/brother/male relative?", "Another 'feminist' hating on men" and so on probably. Sure, it's not all men but it's always men.
I was scrolling insta when I came across a reel where a guy is complaining about how whenever there is a crime concerning a woman, we raise our voice and protest yet when there is a crime concerning a man, there is barely even news coverage. Which is certainly true and fair. But seriously, right now? Why is it that men always complain whenever people are trying to give justice to a poor victim girl?? I totally agree that whether men or women, all victims should get their justice but have some fucking sympathy instead of complaining?!?
Next, another reel where a lawyer guy was talking about women's safety laws and all, the comments? "Law for women, la*da for men". Well, why don't you go and take a look at the statistics? Maybe read the news daily, I mean the local one. Again, I'm NOT against men's safety, ofc no. It's just that, why can't men complain or raise their concerns without pulling the women with them? What do you want? The laws that are made for us (not that they're REALLY useful) to go nil??? Or what?? Equality? That is feminism. Fucking equality!! You don't hear a true feminist complaining, "why do men get paid more than us? Salary for men, chillar for women" or anything, instead it's "We want to get paid the same as that of a man." Again, I'm NOT speaking against men particularly, just the ones who feel enraged towards us just because we want to get treated as a human first, and equally.
I was talking to a guy friend and his attitude is, "Yeah what happened to her is TERRIBLE but hey, it's not like I can do anything about that? I would never do that and be a good person but that's all I can do, I can't tell the rapists that what they did was wrong and they'd too be like 'oh yes yes oops we did wrong' right?". Now, I do understand his perspective but sure a bit more sympathy and kindness won't hurt anyone?? He even has a sister!! And in the age of social media, anyone with a phone can contribute to some extent.
When I read the details of the case, my soul cried out. I can't even imagine her sorrow. Oh my goodness. My insides felt all queasy reading those gruesome details. All girls of all ages have almost experienced a bad incident with men. Harassment, molestation, abuse, assault, SOMETHING! So many cases everyday and so many more which don't even get registered. Rapes have become so common in India that unless and until it's something very gruesome, people don't even bother that much. It's always "What has it got to do with me" until it's someone you, someone who is close to you. 78 years of independence yet girls are still caged behind walls.
It's always "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao", Beti padh toh li lekin Beti bach nahi pai. Why is it always "Arre voh toh ladhka, voh toh aise he karega", Voh aisa kyu karega?!?
Why is that ladhkiyo ko mana karte hai raat mein bahar jaane ke liye because it's not safe for her, lekin ladhke puri raat awaaragardi kare, koi dikkat nahi.
Why can't we just teach boys to respect women? To not just respect women, but to respect everyone? The next person is a living being, is that not a good enough reason to not be cruel??

Speak about what happened in Kolkata where a doctor was raped and killed while on duty. Please do it. We need outrage.
I almost threw up when I heard about the case. I've been circulating awareness on my Instagram continuously. I apologize for how long it has taken me to speak about it here.
I fear if I start screaming I will not stop. The accused MUST answer to their crimes, and come into the spotlight. A scapegoat will not hide them forever, and when they are caught, I wish only pain and suffering to them, and to the people helping them hide. To commit an act this heinous, you must have not a single shred of humanity in you.
Rape is the only crime with no defense. Absolutely none.
I hope the filthy creatures die. Painfully.

Men are struggling and fighting for the safety of your nation and yet ungrateful females like you have reasons to believe that you are not safe. R@pe cases are rare in India compared to other countries and many cases are fake. Whenever a man is accused of a false r@pe, nobody pays attention because our pain is not considered a pain. Women show their cleavage, roam at night with their boyfriends, cheats on their partners and believe that they deserve to be treated with respect. A man is not even treated properly if he doesn't bring anything to the table .... Goahead blame men shamelessly but remember you get independence because of men only 😕
78 years of independence. independence from what? what safety?women are in a constant state of vigilance, like a country on terrorist alert. no democracy is a democracy when half its population lives in fear. this cultural agreement that women have little value. which means in turn that girls must be trained to act as if they do not exist, to minimise their presence to survive, to serve men and not inconvenience them. this is how India treats women. the man worshipping is sky rocketing, women crippling other women down is the highest level of patriarchy. no environment, no territory, no generation is spared the violence done to women. from the moment we enter crying to the moment we leave dying, if youre a woman that is your biggest crime. we speak up, they try to shoot us down. we exist, they try to burn us alive. yes i am dehumanizing men, because it wasnt a woman who tore that girl limb from limb left her mouth and eyes bleeding alike. men dont care about other men, men dont care about other women. if you feel offended, you are part of the problem. you need to be locked up or you need to change. yes i am dehumanizing the government because only some kind of monster could overlook hate crimes as such.
not everything is about men. why are you so entitled to raise your voices louder when women raise their voices loud. it's not a competition, if you have issues, raise them. don't you think it's ironical and hypocritical to raise awareness about "internalized misandry" only after a heinous crime such as this has taken place? men dont care about other men or they would be out on the streets demanding the government for justice. if women are misandrists, speak against it. but now is not the time to do that, this is not the time to highlight the faults of women.

I haven't been seeing a lot of posts here about the latest Kolkata case where a 31-year-old doctor, Moumita Debnath, was raped and killed in her workplace. I'm not from India but this type of news is not uncommon where I come from. A hundred cases like these get buried under the rug because it's always "the woman's fault" or at most she is victim blaming and I just couldn't not talk about this. This case also got my attention because people were asking "Well, what was she wearing?" to this DOCTOR who was ON DUTY.
I urge everyone who sees this post to look into the case. The condition in which she was found, the hospital's disgusting attitude towards this, the sheer darkness in which her family was kept in before the hospital even let them see their daughter's body and the fucking way the government is handling this like it's some sort of political agenda is just too horrific. They're out here wiping out evidence and the CM herself is trying to play this like it's some opposing political party going against HER.
I see many things from India trending here and appreciate it, but this case should also get more exposure. Sure, South Asia is getting appreciation in the world for many things but women are still so underappreciated and are being feasted upon every single day. This case too only came forward because the victim's colleagues were brave enough to go against the college which was threatening them with their marks if they spoke against them. There are a million other cases that never come out, million other victims whose voice never get heard but let's not make this one of them.
