| College Student Empress (Light Novel) - English Translation (MTL)
| Translation Tool: Chat GPT
| Chapter 1: I've Become A Married Woman
| Notes: This is my first time translating something with Chat-GPT, so bare with me. Italics / Bold pink texts is meant for character thoughts.
People cannot be cool in the face of a breakup. The one who gets dumped cries and clings on, whether they are a man or a woman.
Haesol had never been dumped but knew this well. She was always the one who ended relationships, and she did so far more frequently than others.
The men Haesol dumped would curse, cry, and spew venomous words at every breakup, to the point where it would seem pitiful even to an onlooker.
However, Haesol never felt heartbroken in the face of a breakup.
She could never date any man for more than three months, never shared deep feelings with any man, and as someone who lived as the ultimate perpetrator of looks-based discrimination, where a man's absolute requirement was solely his appearance, the curses during breakups were nothing more than the desperate cries of those being abandoned.
"...Ah, I'm screwed."
Up until now.
"Your Highness! Are you conscious?"
"Your Highness!"
"Empress!"
Looking at the people crying their hearts out in front of her, dressed as if they had stepped out of a historical movie screen, Haesol swallowed hard.
‘This... is a dream, right?’
***
It was not a dream.
"Your Highness. Have you left your herbal medicine again...?"
Haesol clutched her forehead while looking at the woman with her neatly rolled-up hairstyle and teary eyes.
The woman was so startled by this gesture that she asked,
"Your Highness! Does your head hurt again? Should I call the royal physician?"
‘It’s no use. The cause of my headache is you.’
"Your Highness?"
Haesol squeezed her eyes shut instead of answering.
It had already been fifteen days since she woke up in this strange place. People called her "Your Highness" or "Empress." There were women dressed in traditional Eastern-style costumes and men who seemed to be eunuchs.
"Her Highness is having memory issues due to the shock. It may be confusing now, but when her memory returns, she will be fine. Please, Your Highness, try to calm down."
The elderly man with a white beard, who was called a royal physician, explained this crazy situation in this manner. He suggested that it wasn't the world that had gone mad, but Haesol herself.
At this point, she had to accept it. This extremely abnormal situation was her reality. A reality she desperately did not want to believe.
"Please rest, Your Highness."
After the woman, who introduced herself as "Wolryeo," and appeared to be in her early to mid-40s, checked Haesol's condition several times and left, Haesol let out a deep sigh and pulled a small mirror, about 30 cm by 20 cm, in front of her.
There was evidence in the mirror. Absolute evidence that forced Haesol to accept this situation.
Her face. The face in the mirror was not Haesol's face. The woman in the mirror was a stranger. It wasn't Shin Haesol, a second-year physical education major at Sahwa University, but an entirely unfamiliar woman.
A white and slender woman. A woman with long, slender limbs like an herbivore. Naturally, the abs that Haesol had worked so hard to build were nowhere to be found. Not only her face but also her body had changed. How old could she be? Just over twenty? If not for her youthful appearance, she looked about that age.
When Haesol first saw herself in the mirror, convinced she was dreaming, she boldly slapped her own cheek and felt the immense pain. Ah. It's me. It's not me, but it is me.
"This is driving me crazy... What on earth is going on?"
***
The place where the ruler of this country lives, looking down upon the world. The highest and most magnificent place. If you ask anyone where such a place is, they would immediately point to Taewang Palace.
Taewang Palace, symbolically and geographically, was located in a place where it was literally impossible not to look down on people. It was built on the highest ground within the capital city.
Those who were not born into the royal family nurtured their ambitions outside the palace, hoping to enter it by obtaining a government position. They dreamed of serving the high and mighty emperor and working for the country. Taewang Palace was the pinnacle of ambition for those with desires.
However, Taecheon sat uncomfortably and in a very displeased mood within that grand Taewang Palace. Others might say he was crazy for being dissatisfied despite his fortune, but... what could he do? It was truly like that.
"Your Majesty."
The reason Taecheon found this situation uncomfortable was clear.
"......"
"Your Majesty?"
It was because of the man sitting right in front of him on the main seat, arms crossed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
"Your Majesty!"
This man didn't respond no matter how earnestly he was called, wouldn't let him go outside, and didn't particularly assign him any tasks either—a man with an infuriating disposition.
"Your Majesty... I apologize, but I really, really must be going now..."
But he was a man with absolute power, in front of whom one could never complain. This man was none other than the young emperor of Yeonryeo Kingdom, Sihan.
"No. Don't go. Stay with me."
'I don't want to either. Why should I...'
Taecheon wore a sad expression. Ever since he was a crown prince, the emperor had been known for his incorrigible nature. How much had the educators of the crown prince struggled? They had hoped he would improve with age, but it was becoming increasingly clear that even the most rigorous education couldn't change his troublesome disposition. It made Taecheon feel deeply sorrowful.
The late emperor hadn't been like this. How could such a different offspring come from the same lineage? Is there even a trace of the previous generation in this one?
While constantly grumbling inwardly, Taecheon pleaded earnestly once more.
"Your Majesty, I really, really have many tasks to attend to."
"No matter how many you have, could they be more than mine?"
If you know that, why not do some work? Taecheon again only responded inwardly.
Sihan usually enjoyed tormenting Taecheon, but it was obvious why he was being exceptionally irritating today. The news that the empress, who had been on the brink of death, was recovering quickly displeased him.
"Your Majesty. Your Majesty, Your Majesty, Your Majesty."
When Taecheon could no longer hold back and called repeatedly, Sihan shamelessly reproached him.
"Well, well. Even when I try to be considerate, you complain too much. Just sit appropriately. Sit and rest a while. Isn't that enough? 'Your Majesty, Your Majesty, Your Majesty.' At this rate, I'll wear out."
"Your Majesty..."
"Enough. I'm tired of it."
So, should I call you by your name? Would that make you happy? Taecheon sulked and kept his mouth shut.
He felt sorry for Seongbi, who endured slanderous accusations and stayed by his side, and sorry for himself, who had this man as both his lord and friend. But above all, he pitied the empress the most, who was disregarded by this man for the sole reason of being "the empress."
***
Haesol repeatedly curled and uncurled her fingers. It had been 22 days since she woke up in this body. At first, her movements felt unnatural, but now she moved as if it were truly her own body.
‘I feel like I'm gradually merging with this body.’
When she first woke up, she was too shocked and bewildered to notice, but as time passed, Haesol could be certain. When she first awakened in this body, it felt mismatched with her, as if the body and soul knew they were switched and resisted.
‘Maybe I should have returned then...’
But there was nothing she could do, even if she regretted it. Even if she went back 22 days, the situation would be the same as now, and she still didn’t know how to return.
In any case, given the current circumstances, she had no choice but to find a way to return to her original body. Of course, she had to survive in the meantime, so she would have to pretend to be the "real Empress" for a while.
"So... let's summarize."
When Haesol mumbled to herself, Wolryeo, the palace maid who had taken care of her every single day since she woke up, thought Haesol was speaking to her and responded with a concerned tone.
"Please speak comfortably, Your Highness."
Though Haesol hadn't meant her words for Wolryeo, she decided against embarrassing her by explaining and instead shook her head.
"I'm sorry. It's uncomfortable for me to speak informally to someone older."
"It's against the rules, Your Highness. You are the head of the inner court and the mother of this country."
But I'm not. I'm not the mother of the country. Haesol gave an awkward smile at the grandiose term "mother of the country."
Anyway, to summarize, this place was definitely not Korea.
Given that there were palace maids and eunuchs, it might seem like Joseon, but the clothing was different. The attire reminded Haesol of the Tang Dynasty in China, but it didn't match perfectly with that either.
Most importantly, the name of the country was Yeonryeo. Yeonryeo. A name she'd never heard before. While she wasn't very knowledgeable about Chinese history, as far as she knew, there had never been a country called Yeonryeo in ancient China.
"It will gradually get better. I'll learn slowly. But Wolryeo, so I'm the Empress, and my husband is the Emperor, right?"
"...Yes."
Wolryeo's lips twitched, seemingly displeased with the term "Wolryeo," but Haesol ignored it and spread out a piece of paper, writing crooked letters with a brush.
Summary two. This body's name is Shin Danyeong. Empress. Age 21. But married.
As Haesol scribbled the wobbly letters, Wolryeo, who had been watching with a disapproving look, couldn't hold back her curiosity and asked,
"Your Highness, what kind of writing is that?"
"Oh, it's English."
"Excuse me?"
‘I wrote it in English so you wouldn’t understand.’
"It's not that important. Don't worry about it."
Summary three: The real Empress collapsed due to an ambush. The culprit has not been caught yet.
While answering inwardly, Haesol wrote the third item.
Meanwhile, Wolryeo was curiously tilting her head from side to side, fascinated by the English. Haesol continued moving the brush.
Four: The Emperor and Empress have a bad relationship. The Emperor wanted to make a woman named Gongrin the Empress, but she was from a humble family and a former palace maid, so she had no backing and couldn’t be made Empress.
Five: The Emperor has never visited the Empress’s palace since their marriage.
What else is there? Haesol stopped writing and bit the brush handle. While she tried to recall the information she had gathered during her time confined to the room, there wasn't anything else memorable enough to record.
Of course, there were more detailed things, but those could be learned through observation and experience.
After reading through the list she had made, Haesol rolled it up and set it aside. Even though she wasn't particularly fond of historical dramas, she could roughly understand her current situation.
Villain. She was the villain.
The obstacle to a love that transcended status. A woman who became Empress thanks to her power. If this were a drama, the protagonist would probably be that Gongrin woman. The Empress would be the one wielding power to try to eliminate the protagonist, Gongrin.
But this world wasn’t a drama, and the "real Empress" seemed to have been just a quiet and gentle person. From the Empress’s perspective, Gongrin might have been annoying...
...but it didn’t seem like she wielded power to oppress Gongrin. This was probably fortunate for Gongrin.
‘She was a good person.’
Of course, these traits were not fortunate for Haesol, who had a wild and unruly nature.
‘Her appearance was different, and her personality too. There's nothing about her that's similar to me.’

Emperor | Yandere Qin Shi Huang
Yandere Pantheon College AU (4/7) | Master List
“Mao Mantai!”
The Chinese club supervisor and professor for advanced languages was quite the character
Oddly enough slamming through the shoddy facilities he’s allowed to have classes in
That is when he doesn’t find a neglected classroom on the elite side to teach his kids or hold club activities in
“Mr. Huang you cannot teach your classes in here!”
“Ha! As the emperor of the Chinese club, I see no reason I should leave. In fact, I think you should leave on the account that you’re irritating me. Students!”
“Yes sir!”
Because of his…emperor complex(?) he’s the hardest person to reign in when it comes to the average teachers attempting to ‘unionize’
Not that he doesn’t believe in the cause
He’s just so set on just existing where and with what he wants because he can
He’s not one for all the legalese
At least that’s before you petition him
“Uh Qin are you in here? I was told the club gained some new exploits….”
“Qīn'ài de rén! Glad you finally decided to come by you’re just in time for your fitting!”
He’d stolen one of the elite lounges for himself
filled with all the luxuries they shared lounges or just the average lounge in general
Coffee maker, shaved ice maker, half a kitchen,
nice furniture–courtesy of those dedicated club members
He was quick to make sure it screamed Chinese royalty in here
Shooing off the students and some teachers who were always at his beck and call
You make your case
“Qin I think it’s great that you got this room but I heard that you beat up the guidance counselor and that one teacher that came to confront you—we really can’t have you—”
“Red or green, Bǎobao?”
“You really set the group behind because we–wait what?”
“Red or green for your hanfu! Now that I think about it maybe I should just have you match mine!”
“...why does this matter?”
“Every emperor needs his empress!”
“What?! But I’m a–”
“As an emperor, the path is where I lead!”
Honestly, he’ll have you eat, play board games with you, and have you sit in his lap before hearing you out
It’s a real negotiation when he’s being serious
As an emperor, he doesn’t feel the need to go through paperwork or intimidate the elite side into respect because he’s more than prepared to do whatever he feels like to get what he wants
You might have to just back up Brunhilde and have her debate with him
And through much deliberation
He’ll finally agree
…with some conditions
After all, they were all fighting the same foe
“Hǎo! Now let’s talk about my conditions!”
“Whatever you want we can do it. It’s a pleasure to officially be working with you.”
His first manner of business is making sure you wear some article of Chinese fashion that matches his
“Do I have to wear this? Some of these are just so…out of my style.”
“It’s either that or I could cover you in another mark of mine…that actually might be better…”
“Ah! On second thought I’ll let you overhaul my closet.”
The second demand is that when you’re on break you’re doing your work on his lap
Wherever that might be
Third, should anything happen to you average or elite he better be told, and he’ll deal with it himself
“I think these are reasonable terms.”
“I agree thank you for being merciful, Emperor Qin!”
“I’ll say! Brunhilde don’t play up to his weird fantasies!”
“Oh Huánghòu, you’re anger makes me want to ravish you!”
“N-n-not here!”
“The path is where I lead!”

Yknow I love girl failures so for the empress au instead of furina having the second heir, it's another girl failure like Layla (if she's in the empress au, if not then I'll try to find another girl failure)
NOT LAYLA BEING THE SECOND ONE TO GIVE AN HEIR TO THE EMPRESS 😭😭
At the very least, Furina has a high status as a (former) archon, but Layla is literally just some girl in college. Out of all the other courtesans, (an electro archon, a half-adeptus, a Tianquan, a tengu general, etc.) ofc the regular girl college student somehow gets the Empress pregnant because she’s a girlfailure…
Poor Layla is so confused as to what is happening and why the Empress is so sleepy all the time. It was due to the fact that the Empress was carrying Layla’s child the entire time, but poor Layla didn’t know that. Once the baby pops out with elf ears and curly blue hair though, it doesn’t take long to put two and two together, and figure out that Layla is the mother <3
Welcome to the parent club, Layla ☺️

why does this relationship feel so groomer-like and no one's talking about it?
Am I the only one who notices how predatory Sovieshus relationship with Rashta feels, she's not a good person but fanatics are acting like Rashta really knows what she's doing (to some extent she does but keep in mind, this is a recently freed slave girl around the age of 18 with the mental age of 8 and an emperor who is at least 8 years her senior)
the novel even goes out of its way to describe Rashta as a gleeful child in terms of behavior and speaking in 3rd person so that's a big yikes
he's out here petting her like a dog and the expression she makes below is disturbingly like a 10 year old at the oldest
Off topic but is she necessarily wrong here? Granted there is a chance Rashta is only stating this to make herself look like the better option, but she's still not wrong, Navier always gets her way in the end and everyone loves her, the narrative is trying to say Rashta is a conniving bitch for saying this but my girls just stating facts.
This is how Sovieshu here responds to that, I do not know how else a predatory relationship could be more on the nose than calling her prey.
And this clearly isn't a one time thing since Rashta confirms he's always calling her that.
I wouldn't exactly say Sovieshu is a straight up pedo but there is clearly a major power imbalance that he is enjoying here. Rashta doesn't argue with him, she treats him like her savior, he likes that because unlike Navier, Rashta would always throw herself to him to be her knight in shining armor.
I'm pretty sure Sovieshu was initially against giving her an education too because she would lose her childlike innocence and what do you know? The moment Rashta becomes empress and stops acting all childlike and revealing her desperate paranoia he treats her like an annoying girl that was thrusted upon him.
Rashta is a terrible person no questions there but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend she wasn't being taken advantage of.
EDIT: I poorly phrased it last time but I want to make it clear I do NOT think Sovieshu likes them younger, he's a lot of things but he's not a pedo. The relationship they have feels more like a student-teacher relationship in a college setting. The student is an adult and while the professors age gap isn't too large, it's still a large power imbalance since the professor has so much power and authority over the student.

Hello! I really enjoy your cdrama posts and I was wondering if you could recommend any period dramas that aren't, idk... murder-forward? 😂 I'm often watching with my kid in the room and I don't want her seeing people get stabbed! Shows like Nirvana in Fire where the violence is mostly limited to a few episodes where you see it coming are also fine - I can save those eps for after the kiddo is in bed. 😄 Thank you!!
hiiiiii 💕💕💕💕 you are so nice AND YET you have given me a mission impossible 💀
Chinese period drama without wanton violence? ?? I've been racking my brains.
I will try to rank options, based on my memories, on least frequency of violent scenes.
Less overt violence:
Legend of Zhen Huan aka Empresses in the Palace: a palace drama that's fantastic but dialogue heavy. There are deaths but not many bloody exchanges that a kid would grasp the significance of. You can work around it. Warning: historical drama with strong FL, but not a romance
Story of Minglan: like Nirvana in Fire, the violent episodes are there but it's 25% of the drama and 75% is violence-free.
Legendary Life of Queen Lau: this is a comedy-first rom com that keeps this tone all the way through. So when there is violence, its fairly cartoonish. Not meant to truly scare. PG rated, in american terms. Maybe 2 episodes to skip.
The Flowers are Blooming: at the very end in the climax there's a couple Danger Episodes. It's blurry for me tbh. But this is primarily just female lead centered romance.
Medium Volume Violence:
A Female Student Arrives at Imperial College: That particular cdrama tone where it's primarily an age gap, female-empowerment rom com... But then occasionally assassins and murder pop up! So you will need to skip some episodes. 60/40 ratio of rom com to murder attempts
Believe in Love: a pretty-people showcase first, everything else second. There is definitely some violence to skip but maybe you can fast forward around it? um she almost dies from good sex tho 😂😭
Sword and Brocade - there are a couple episodes I can think of with disturbing violence but it's perhaps low frequency enough that you can work around it, like with Nirvana in Fire. Though I never finished it so hard to say
Truth or Dare - didn't finish, it bored me and I didn't love any of the actors. but I don't recall it seeming super bloody either. Check further before watching.
Royal Rumors - tbh this drama is a blur to me. I only completed it for the lead actress. I seem to recall that though there was violence, it was lower frequency? Check further before watching.
Higher Volume/Disturbing Scenes for Children:
The Ingenious One
Legend of Fuyao
Legend of Fei
The Royal Princess
A Dream of Splendor
The Ghost Bride
The Imperial Coroner
Under the Power
Blossoms in Adversity
Love Like the Galaxy
The Double
Story of Kunning Palace
These are still in my watch queue so idk:
Autumn Ballad
The Blooms of Ruyi Pavilion
Heart of Loyalty
Decreed by Fate
I've Fallen For You
@dangermousie @renewedmotionforjudgment @dreamyklutzs @aysekira please consult, it's FOR THE CHILDREN

| College Student Empress (Light Novel) - English Translation (MTL)
| Translation Tool: Chat GPT
| Chapter 9: I Wanted To Call You Out
| Notes: Italics / Bold pink texts is meant for character thoughts.
Hae-seol, who expected Shin Seol-joo to arrive around tomorrow, originally planned to go to the Geumbu today. The Geumbu plays a role similar to that of prosecutors, police officers, and prison guards combined, and its duties are extensive.
Therefore, many offices are incorporated within the Geumbu. Hae-seol’s destination was the Seonggeumbu, which is responsible for investigating incidents within the imperial palace.
Since Shin Seol-joo didn’t stay long, Hae-seol checked the time and decided to head to the Seonggeumbu as originally planned.
The reason for visiting the Seonggeumbu, requesting a sword, and summoning Shin Seol-joo were all the same: it was a matter concerning the Empress's survival. Hae-seol believed that such matters should be handled swiftly without delay, as lives were at stake.
Although others could infer from their words and expressions, after seeing Shin Seol-joo, Hae-seol was now certain. Even if the Emperor was not behind the assassination attempt, it was clear that he was an unhelpful presence who at least hindered the investigation.
Considering the Empress and her father were among the three highest officials, the investigation's stagnation suggested interference from someone even higher up.
However, the Emperor couldn’t completely neglect the matter and wish for the Empress's swift demise. Therefore, they would have made a show of investigating, and Hae-seol intended to verify even that small amount of information personally by going to the Seonggeumbu.
“Your Highness, are you sure about this?”
However, Wol-ryeo, who was shocked when Hae-seol requested a sword, turned pale and tried to dissuade her several times when she said she would personally visit the Seonggeumbu. Hae-seol told Wol-ryeo she didn’t have to come if she was scared, but Wol-ryeo refused.
“It’s not fear. I’m just concerned because it’s a place filled with criminals.”
Despite Wol-ryeo’s claim that it was simply due to concern, her expression suggested otherwise. Reluctantly, Hae-seol took Wol-ryeo with her and entered the Seonggeumbu. But it wasn’t just Wol-ryeo who was surprised by the Empress’s visit. The officials at the Seonggeumbu were equally shocked, exchanging bewildered glances at the unexpected arrival of the Empress.
When Hae-seol walked gracefully and said to the nearest military officer, “I would like to meet the person in charge,” their expressions became even more comical.
They fumbled around and hesitated until Wol-ryeo cleared her throat loudly from behind, prompting three or four of them to hurriedly run into the building. Soon after, a man wearing a long, black robe approached, surrounded by military officers.
At a glance, this man, who appeared to be the highest-ranking official, had a scholarly and neat appearance rather than that of a military officer. Despite his kind expression, his eyes looked cold.
“I am Wieo-dan, the head of the Seonggeumbu, Your Highness.”
He greeted politely yet formally, and unlike his subordinates, he immediately asked without showing any discomfort.
“What brings Your Highness to a place like this?”
“I came to see the investigation reports.”
“Investigation reports…?”
“Yes, the reports on the assassination attempt on me and the incident ten days ago.”
Even the head of the Seonggeumbu looked slightly surprised when the Empress requested to see the reports.
“Am I not allowed to see them?”
When Hae-seol asked, he hesitated and said, “It's not that, but…” and explained, “There are many sensitive issues, so it’s not something Your Highness should handle personally.” “My life is at stake, and you say it’s not my business? Then whose business is it?”
Although she didn’t say it, Hae-seol’s smile conveyed the unspoken question: could it possibly be the Emperor? Wieo-dan’s eyebrows twitched as he grasped the implied words.
“Am I going to tear the reports to pieces?”
“!”
“…No, so what does it matter?”
Hae-seol pointed past Wieo-dan’s shoulder toward the building and asked, “Do I go in there?” Wieo-dan, unable to hide his confusion, finally nodded and turned around. “Yes. I will guide you.”
Today as well, Tae-cheon felt himself entering a state of utter detachment while watching Si-han engrossed in reading bizarre and scandalous literature, neglecting his duties as Emperor. If time continued like this, Tae-cheon might even achieve enlightenment despite witnessing such a scene.
Perhaps, a less capable Emperor who stayed put and let competent subordinates handle everything might be better than one who meddled and ruined things. At least, that way, stability could be maintained.
‘…Even so…’
Attempting to rationalize, Tae-cheon sighed deeply, recognizing reality. There were still limits. Though smaller in scale, reading scandalous literature alone was preferable to holding extravagant banquets and summoning courtesans and musicians. However, the Emperor was not meant to idle away his time. The Emperor was not an expensive, rare ornament but the nation's symbol and the central axis of governance.
For now, the young Emperor, with no major incidents occurring, was still managed by officials who begrudgingly followed him. But how long could this relationship last?
While the current Emperor didn't lead state affairs, he remarkably maintained balance among officials, distributing power so no one faction dominated, thus firmly holding the imperial authority. But what if Gong-rin suddenly had a child?
Would the Empress's faction, which made up the majority of officials, remain idle as they do now? Would supporters of Gong-rin allow the Empress's faction to continue unchecked? Although the Empress Dowager disliked Gong-rin, there was no guarantee she would dislike her own grandchild.
“Your Majesty.”
At that moment, a cautious voice called out from outside, and when Si-han granted permission, a eunuch quickly entered. The eunuch glanced at Tae-cheon before approaching Si-han and whispered something.
Curious, Tae-cheon watched as Si-han, who rarely put down his scandalous literature before finishing, abruptly closed it with a loud snap and asked, “Why did the Empress go to the Seonggeumbu?”
His expression was reminiscent of when he first heard from Hu-on about the Empress's stone-throwing incident. Watching Si-han’s eyes sparkle with curiosity and interest, Tae-cheon rubbed his forehead.
***
Hae-seol rubbed her forehead and stared at the two thin books in front of her.
‘Ha... What is this?’
Hae-seol had worried that there might be so many reports that it would take a long time to read through them. Luckily or unluckily, the investigation records were very brief. Although the incident from ten days ago might still have a thin report because it was recent, the other one—the case of the Empress's assassination attempt—was shockingly thin.
Given that the head of the Seonggeumbu, Wieo-dan, who had maintained a stern expression all along, blushed as he handed over the report, it was understandable. He must have felt embarrassed, either out of shame or thinking he seemed incompetent.
Hae-seol sighed, poking at a page of the report with her fingertip. The only saving grace was that the content, despite its brevity, was well-organized. Whoever had written it had a knack for summarization and organization that would earn an A+ in any college report.
‘No, that’s not right. If the content itself is all lies, it’s not a good report. It's just a well-fabricated one.’
Was it correct to call a well-fabricated report well-written? Hae-seol frowned as she read the phrase on the last page of the report: ‘The investigation is closed for such and such reasons.’
The investigation into the incident from ten days ago had been entirely halted, and while the investigation into the assassination attempt hadn't been officially closed, it was effectively stopped.
After skimming through the reports, Hae-seol began to read more thoroughly, pulling a nearby lamp closer to better see the first page.
But just as she read about halfway down the first page, hurried voices calling “Your Majesty! Your Majesty!” came from outside. Before she could ask what was happening, there was a desperate cry, “The Emperor is here!”
Hae-seol’s eyes widened as she quickly stood up, and the double doors swung open. Without even a moment to shout “Wait!”, the Emperor appeared, walking confidently inside with his shoulders straight. As Hae-seol watched the beautiful intruder stride in, she wondered why the Emperor had suddenly come here.
This was the third time she had met him and the second time he had come to the Empress’s quarters himself. Even for a normal married couple, this was a sparse number of meetings, but it was said that the Emperor and Empress rarely saw each other. The Emperor was said never to set foot in the Empress’s quarters.
‘Why did he come?’
One thing was certain: the Emperor still looked as good as ever. Today, he was wearing purple, which, combined with his elegantly half-tied hair, gave him a very pure look.
Hae-seol, realizing she was still mesmerized by his appearance even in this situation, quickly erased her foolish smile and greeted him.
Instead of acknowledging her greeting, the Emperor spoke first, “We’ve been seeing each other often lately.”
“It seems so.”
Hae-seol nodded in agreement instead of saying, ‘Because you’ve been coming here.’
The Emperor twisted his lips into a smirk, glanced around the room, and then looked down at the open book in front of Hae-seol. She narrowed her eyes. Had he heard that she had brought back the reports from the Seonggeumbu? Was he here to nitpick? He had picked up the book as soon as he entered, so it seemed likely.
But considering that the Seonggeumbu head had given it to her without much opposition after only mentioning it wasn’t suitable for her to see, it likely wasn’t a procedural issue. Reports were always made in duplicate, in case one was lost, so it wasn’t about forgery either.
So why?
“So, you went to the Seonggeumbu to get this?”
While Hae-seol was pondering, the Emperor flipped through the pages with his fingers, looking amused.
“Why does the Empress want this?”
Hae-seol blinked at his question. Though it seemed like idle curiosity, they weren’t on good terms, so he wouldn’t come here just to ask this. Considering he also hindered the search for the assassin, who knew what other pretext he might use against her?
If she answered honestly, “No one is properly investigating the assassination attempt on me, so I wanted to find out myself,” he could brazenly accuse her of not trusting him or imply she had other motives. There were many possible attacks he could launch.
Ultimately, instead of talking about protecting herself or criticizing the investigation, Hae-seol cautiously covered her mouth with one hand and spoke carefully.
“I wanted to get caught by Your Majesty.”
The Emperor raised an eyebrow skeptically, shaking the report in front of her face. It was a look of utter disbelief.
Hae-seol met his gaze and, as if embarrassed, but clearly, said, “I thought if Your Majesty heard I brought this, you would come to see me.”
The Emperor didn’t respond immediately to the unexpected words. Hae-seol, not wanting to seem like she was mocking him, added with a moderate smile, “See? Your Majesty came to see me.”

Tàiyáng Mizuki belongs to @shadowmonkieking
Yahui Liao belongs to @shepherd-to-the-stars
Learn more about them below the cut!
Tàiyáng Mizuki:
Tàiyáng Mizuki is a celestial monkey with 3 eyes (which allows her to create illusions), 3 tails (each one of them grants her a specific ability) and 6 ears (providing the ability to listen to what happened up to 100 years ago and up to 6 months in the future) being adressed by the names Golden Lion Tamarin and Empress of Illusions when represented in texts like Journey To The West. She was a member of the Brotherhood but after the Assault on the Celestial Realm Mizuki was imprisoned there and 2 of her 3 tails were cut off as a method of torture. After some time Tàiyáng was taken to the Temple of the Tilted Moon and 3 Stars where she was trained to become a Celestial Warrior in return of her freedom. Once she became a warrior she started stealing some precious treasures who belonged to the Jade Emperor and Erlang. When caught, Mizuki becomes once more an enemy of the whole Celestial Realm and spends hundreds of years attacking and running away from them. Eventually she is recruited to join the Journey To The West, Mizuki declines at first, however when a fillet is placed on her head she doesn't have much of a choice other than join the journey. Once the journey is over Sun Wukong imprisons Tàiyáng on a dimension called The Prison Dimension where magic is not allowed but abilities like super strength and velocity are. She spends 400 years locked there until MK and Red Son unliesh her by accident in the Rune Mountain. Now, in the modern era, Mizuki obtains Macaque's help to get revenge on Wukong.
Yahui Liao:
Yahui Liao is a young college student with a little sister who got possessed by a certain Lady Bone Demon. In her efforts to search for her missing sister, she ends up becoming a student for Macaque (in a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach after failing to "steal" Xiaotian from Sun Wukong), teaching her how to defend herself and fight demons as she uncovers clues about what happened to Baihe.
She's taken on most of the brunt of being a parent to her younger sister as her parents were more focused on work and showing off their kids rather than being good parents to their daughters. As such, she feels a lot of regret in her sister going missing, and her parents only thought she ran away from home rather than anything more dangerous.
After her sister was rescued, she was left affected by the possession, and a bit more susceptible to demons, prompting Yahui to continue training under Macaque for the foreseeable future.

Welcome to the:
Freedom festival
The weekend where the people of ebott celebrate becoming an independent country! This RP event will last from Friday-Sunday! It ends Sunday evening so any leftover rps will just get a summary of what happened later.
With the success of the golden festival in Portland during spring, the same area has been prepared for the freedom festival, with some special upgrades!
Activities you will see are:
Fair rides and games of course! What’s a good festival without them!
There will be shopping, with a special series of rows dedicated to goods from other countries. The immigrant clubs in colleges were invited to show off some home country pride this year! The money made will go to some more scholarships for upcoming students outside of ebott
Many sport events will be open to the public. Fighting contests require one to sign up the week before, but other contests like the acrobatics, races, and weightlifting will be free for anyone interested day of!
To advertise the upcoming Halloween celebration next year and their coven, the lunar cycle coven made a special haunted house for the fair. Children below the age of 13 are not allowed inside without an adult present.
With the help of ebotts engineers and the hadals, there will be some special changes to the venue this year! Due to these upgrades, more space is available on the surface to hold…. Animals! Those who signed up at the beginning of the summer will be allowed to showcase their larger pets! As long as proper accommodations are brought for them of course! The exotic contest will have three sessions with the winners of each getting a special title from the royals lol
The food theme of the festival this year will be.. locusts! After discovering and containing the massive nest (newsletter) in Ridgeside, the bugs had been transported to Portland to be cooked up. Any locust dishes there will be dirt cheap compared to the rest of the food.
And of course, the biggest attraction of the festival: the freedom matches! The matches will be going on the whole time with each fight being scheduled already. Competition is really tight this year with several veterans joining in, a few promising newbies, and rumors of the previous mafias butcher being allowed to bash heads this year!
Rules:
If you’re anon, include a name with each reply so I can distinguish your roleplay with the other anons!
If you don’t state who you’re looking for/wanting to meet, I will roll the wheel of options for a random encounter lol
Some of the skeletons are *ssholes. This does not mean that I hate you if the *sshole characters act like *ssholes.
Side characters are also available with the exceptions of the royals. Only toriel, Asgore, empress king and summer will be in the festival. Feel free to request them if they’re the ones you wanna meet!

Between Worlds: The Princess of Twisted Realms
Reborn into the world of Twisted Wonderland Vivian must navigate this world to uncover the secrets of her birth, while maintaining her new role in this life. Will she find her way back to her old world, or will Twisted Wonderland reshape her destiny?
Prologue 1
Prelude
Present: Mirror Chambers—Night Raven College
Vivian stood amidst the grandeur of Night Raven College’s great hall, the ancient stone walls draped in shadows cast by flickering chandeliers. The air buzzed with anticipation as students waited to be sorted into their dorms, but her thoughts were far removed from the present. She was caught between two worlds, two identities, and the heavy weight of her choices.
As she approached the Dark Mirror, memories of her final training session flooded her mind—a time when her future seemed inevitable yet uncertain. She had chosen this path, but now, faced with the unknown, doubt crept into her heart. Was this truly the first step toward finding her way back to Sora, the life she longed to return to? Or was she stepping deeper into a role that threatened to consume her?
The Dark Mirror loomed before her, its surface unnervingly smooth, reflecting only shadows and flickers of light. Vivian hesitated, pulling the hood of her cloak tighter around her face, as if shielding herself from the truth it might reveal. Her thoughts drifted to her family in Twisted Wonderland—her brother Arkin, the Crown Prince; her parents, the Emperor and Empress; and the expectations that came with being Crown Princess. Expectations she had long avoided. Yet beneath those thoughts lay memories of Sora’s life, a simpler existence filled with warmth and love, a life she feared she might never reclaim.
With a deep breath, she leaned in close and whispered her name to the Dark Mirror, “Vivian de Alcantara.” Her voice, though soft, echoed ominously in the hall. For a brief moment, she feared the Mirror would expose her identity or that the students around her would notice her whisper. But instead, it responded with a booming proclamation: “Ignihyde!”
Relief washed over her, quickly followed by a wave of apprehension as she stepped back. She could feel the eyes of the other students on her—curious, speculative, yet unaware of the true identity hidden beneath her hood. For now, she preferred it that way.
As she moved to join the students sorted into Ignihyde, a cold chill ran down her spine—a feeling as though someone was watching her more intently than the rest. She dismissed it, focusing instead on the familiar weight of her cloak and the comforting presence of Teddy, her Alicorn familiar, who fluttered discreetly within the folds of her cloak.
You sure you’re okay with this? Teddy’s voice softly rang in her head. This place gives me the creeps, and not in a good way.
Vivian’s lips curved into a faint smile. She gently brushed her fingers against Teddy’s soft mane. I’ll be fine, Teddy. We’ve faced worse before.
Yeah, but this time feels different, Teddy persisted, his usually playful tone tinged with concern. It’s like we’re walking into a nest of vipers that don’t even know what they’re dealing with.
Before Vivian could respond, a shadow fell over them. She looked up to see Jack Howl, a tall, muscular student from Savanaclaw, approaching. His amber eyes were sharp, like a predator sizing up its prey, and his presence commanded attention, even in the bustling crowd. Other students seemed to instinctively step aside as he passed, a subtle acknowledgment of his dominance.
Jack stopped in front of her, his gaze lingering on her hooded figure. “Are you alright?” he asked, his voice quiet but edged with something unspoken, a sharpness that made Vivian pause. This wasn’t a casual inquiry; there was an intensity in his eyes, as if he sensed something off about her.
“I’m fine,” Vivian replied, keeping her voice calm and controlled, masking her feminine tone with a neutral one. She kept her face hidden, knowing that revealing too much too soon could lead to unwanted complications. Tomorrow, when the entire student body would see her face and uniform, would bring its own set of challenges.
Jack’s gaze didn’t waver, but he nodded slowly. “If you need anything, just let me know.”
“Thanks,” she said, offering a slight nod in return. As Jack moved away, Vivian felt a mixture of relief and caution. Jack Howl was someone to watch—whether as an ally or an obstacle was yet to be determined.
As the ceremony continued, Vivian’s thoughts drifted back to her last day in Elysium, where she had spent countless hours training, honing her skills. The memory was vivid, as if it had happened just moments ago.
———————————————————————————
Flashback: The Training Grounds of Elysium
The sky over Elysium was painted in shades of gold and amber as the sun set, casting a warm, almost ethereal light across the sprawling training grounds. Vivian stood at the edge of the field, her heart pounding in her chest as she faced her older brother, Arkin. He was the epitome of strength and grace, his sword gleaming in the dying light, a testament to his skill and power.
“Ready, Viv?” Arkin called out, his voice carrying a confident warmth that belied the seriousness of their session.
Vivian nodded, tightening her grip on her sword—a weapon crafted from ancient steel and iron, imbued with powerful runes that glowed softly in her hands. The air around her seemed to hum with magic, a force she had mastered but rarely unleashed to its full potential. Not even now, in front of Arkin.
The training began with the clash of weapons and the sizzle of magic in the air. Vivian moved with precision and agility, every strike calculated, every spell controlled. But no matter how hard she pushed herself, she held back, a silent choice she made to protect her brother, to let him believe he was the stronger one.
Arkin’s voice cut through the air, urging her on. “Don’t hold back, Viv. You’re stronger than this.”
But Vivian knew the truth—she was stronger than Arkin could ever imagine, stronger than she wanted him to know. If she unleashed her full power, it would change everything, disrupt the delicate balance of their family’s expectations. “I am giving my all, Arkin,” she said, convincing him as she had done their whole lives, unaware of the doubt running through his mind.
As their battle intensified, Arkin’s movements became more forceful, more determined, as if he sensed her hesitation. Finally, with a swift and practiced move, he disarmed her, sending her sword flying across the field. Vivian dropped to her knees, gasping for breath, acting as though her body ached from the exertion, but her mind was far from defeated.
Arkin knelt beside her, his expression softening into one of brotherly concern. “You did well, Viv. Better than last time.”
Vivian looked up at him, returning his smile with her own. “Well, you are a tough competitor.”
Arkin’s gaze softened even further as he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “Well, hopefully, the day comes when you fight me with Hercules’s Scepter.”
His words were light-hearted and meant to comfort, but they couldn’t dispel the lingering doubt in her heart. Was he suspecting her? Or was it his way of saying she could be stronger than him? Although her face remained calm, her mind swirled with anticipation. She needed to be more careful. She reminded herself that her plan would fall apart if she wasn't careful.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the field, Vivian made a silent vow. She would continue to fight, to train, to seek a way back to the life she lost—and, most importantly, to ensure her current family’s happiness. But for now, she would play the role she wanted everyone to believe, keeping her true strength hidden, even from those closest to her.
———————————————————————————
Present Day: The Dorm Sorting Ceremony
The memory faded, leaving Vivian with a renewed sense of determination as she returned to the present. The cold stone floor of the great hall grounded her, the murmurs of the other students now distant and insignificant. She remained still, allowing the crowd to disperse as they made their way to their respective dorms.
Teddy, she directed her thoughts to him, we need to stay focused. There’s too much at stake for us to lose sight of our goal.
Teddy, usually brimming with playful energy, nodded solemnly. I know, Viv. But don’t overdo it, alright?
Don’t worry, I won’t, Vivian’s voice lightened as she reassured him. She pulled her cloak tighter around her, shielding herself from the inquisitive gazes of the students as she moved toward the group of newly assigned Ignihyde students.
As she settled into the crowd, her thoughts turned to the day ahead—a day she both dreaded and anticipated. Tomorrow, when she would no longer be able to hide behind her cloak, when her full identity would be exposed to the entire student body, bringing with it a flood of attention she neither wanted nor needed, but hoped she could use to her advantage.
This wasn’t her world, and these were the people she had avoided in this life. But for now, they were a necessary part of her journey, a journey she was determined to see through to the end.

the others that I have read but didn’t finish are “Trash of the Counts Family (CALEEE HEHEHEH CALEEE)” “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” “Second Life of a Trash Princess” “Beware of the Villainess” “Surviving as a Maid” “College Student Empress”
Okay i think we both know Trash of the Counts Family and Omniscient Reader are like different compared to the others bc they have male leads and also they’re a little different. Trash of the Counts Family does follow the isekai villain thing but also i dont remember most of it so damn
I stopped reading “Surviving as a Maid” after I heard that the female lead was just catching these men like pokemon. What I meant is that it was a harem. I don’t like harems. And also the fact she was going to romance the Emperor too made me gag and throw up bc I genuinely liked the red hair guy. He was the only guy to help her and protect her. I don’t know why she needed the harem. That guy was literally top tier AND THE EMPEROR DOESN’T EVEN PAY ATTENTION TO HER. He’s GAY or bi idk but I knew sure as hell that he wasn’t attracted to the fl. I dropped it after that news.
WHAT DOES THE REVERSE HAREM EVEN DO FOR THE STORY?? super forced the red hair knight was enough i loved that guy
“Beware of the Villainess” took too damn long. The build up was good and i thought it was funny. I thought the fl was gay. THEY YURI BAITED ME. Instead we got this blue furry. Honestly, he’s cute. I don’t care for him. I don’t care for the rest of the guys too.
“Second Life of a Trash Princess” attracted me because of the artstyle but then I dropped it since I had no idea what direction it was heading.
“College Student Princess” I LOVEEDDD i loved that comic. it was so silly and fun. I love the silliness and the stupid pervertness of the fl and the oblivious and awkward ml. And im not saying he’s meek. He was honestly pretty tough. Their chemistry, I believed, was really cute. I dropped it after the style change (IM SORRY) also i forgot about it
I need to read more manhwas bc I used to read a whole bunch in middle school through freshmen year since the websites were unblocked

thinking about that Mechanisms persona 5 au again. The one where it's the mechs cast in p5. So I might as well put who I think should go where.
This is also a college au. I guess. It just fits better
The phantom thieves- the Mechanisms. This is obvious why. They choose the Mechanisms as their phantom thieves group name first, but after a certain someone kept basically saying to everyone that they were the Mechanisms in public, they made the band as a cover and now they have to manufacture beef between themselves as the band and themselves as phantom thieves and that the phantom thieves definitely stole their name.
wildcard- Jonny D'ville. He's the narrator of the Mechanisms and one of the first members of the Mechanisms. He's up there for most roles over all the albums, so wildcard. I'm half tempted to make his persona Prince Charming because one, it would tick him off to no end and two, it the role he as himself played in ouatis.
0 fool - I think Yog Sothoth or one of the elder gods would make the best fit for Yaldy. No idea who Igor would be though
1 magician - the Toy Soldier. It is the least organic of the Mechanisms which is in line with Morgana's origins. I'd say it was given instructions to find the wildcard and eventually found itself in the first Palace pretending to be a Shadow or something. Haven't decided on a persona for it yet though
2 high priestess - Ashes O'Reilly. They have mob connections (though a lot different from how Makoto's went). Ashes would slso manage to become the student president at their college. Their persona would probably be Hades
3 emperor - Raphaella la Cognizi. She and Yusuke are both eccentric weirdos (/pos) in their fields. She has probably neglected herself and her finances in her focus on science as well. Haven't decided on a persona for her yet
4 empress - Nastya Rasputina. A princess and an Heir to a food company are basically the same thing right? (I almost had her be the futaba of the group due to Out, but I figured that being the Haru of the group fit her better. Plus she deserves to be the most terrifying member of the group. And also a big weapon.) Haven't decided on a persona for her yet.
5 Hierophant- Dr. Carmilla (unless I find someone better). She is somewhat of a parental figure? I'm not too sure on this one.
6 the lovers - Gunpowder Tim. His whole thing with bertie parallels Ann's thing with Shiho pretty well.
7 chariot - Baron Marius von Raum. He seems like he would be the most like Ryuji. He does do the talking about the phantom thieves out loud thing which results in them having to make the band as a cover.
8 strength- the Aurora. As the most inhuman of the crew, she gets to be Jonny's attendant in the Velvet Room. They do figure out that something is up with the VR and rescue her much earlier than lavenza gets rescued in p5. (Aurora and Nastya are together in this au still)
9 hermit - Ivy Alexandra. She would definitely be a Navi type.
10 fortune - undecided maybe loki?
11 justice - drumbot Brian. He gets to be akechi due to the whole 2 modes thing, so two personas. To keep in line with his mostly robot thing I am going to make him a anti shadow weapon (think aigis from persona 3)
12 Hanged man- the pendragon trio (or at least arthur). the thing with mordred could be a good parallel between iwai and his kid
13 death- Oedipus. tae and oedipus are both doctors who do kinda have a similar storyline. plus the image of oedipus in tae's outfit kills me
14 temperance - undecided. maybe cinders?
15 devil - Ulysses. Ohya and them have a very similar starting point when we meet them. And Ulysses is a gumshoe (a detective) so that would take the place of ohya's investigative journalism.
16 Tower - undecided. Maybe Heracles?
17 star - undecided. Maybe rose red? Maybe Guinevere?
18 moon - undecided. Maybe pilchard? (Though he'd do better as a Palace ruler or the Shadow that leads them to the second palace)
19 sun - snow white. She and Yoshida both are politicians campaigning for peace and better stuff.
20 judgement- Lyfrassir Edda. They and Sae are both long-suffering people in kaw enforcement who have to deal with the Mechanisms/phantom thieves and all their shenanigans.
