I have... Some... favourite quotes. I have a memory like a fish for them though so had to do some googling for ones I recognised. I've tried to cherry pick too for brevity!

They fall into three categories:

Proverbs/sayings

These are some of my favourites I have to admit!

Dod yn ôl at Fy Nghoed - which literally means coming back to my trees but on a deeper meaning is something like finding balanced/calm sense of mind! I love this one because i've had a number of lovely people say this to me at really important moments over the years. It really helps me find my 'roots!'

If ever tha does owt for nowt, do it for thisen - this an old yorkshire proverb which is quite famous but means if you ever do something for nothing, do it for yourself. Husbands family are deep yorkshire so I'm borrowing this one! Personally the way I interpret this is to be well, if you're going to do something for nothing, make sure you're enjoying it. Make sure it's something you care about, make sure it's worthwile to you. I mean this probably applies, even if you're getting something from it!

Words to live by

Dywed yn dda am dy gyfail, am dy elyn dywed ddim- This means speak well of your friend; of your enemy say nothing! There's an old matriarch of the village where I grew up who always said this to me. I really like it, not least because this way any enemies will never know what you're really up too and it's important to shout nice things about your friends.

Don't let the buggers get you down - my nain was a gentle firecracker of a woman and she ALWAYS said this to me. I stand by these words.

It's still magic even if you know how it's done (Terry Pratchett - a Hat Full of Sky) - I love trying to keep that amazement alive. I have a social science research background, heavy on the science, but just becuase you can offer up an explanation for something, doesn't make it any less incredible. Plus, magic is awesome!

There have been times, lately, when I dearly wished that I could change the past. Well I can't, but I can change the present, so that when it becomes the past it will turn out to be a past worth having (Terry Pratchett - I Shall Wear Midnight) - This comes back to hope for the future and control of my life which are two very important things! I try to remind myself of this whenever things feel shit or overwhelming.

I was thinking - and I know that this is a cop out but I don't think I would add to any of these quotes. But I will explain - I have a bad memory for quotes so I like the shorter ones, or the ones that get accross a snapshot or a vibe or a sense of something so that the emotion of it lingers with you even if the words don't. Becuase of that, I don't think I would change anything about these - I like them just the way they are, because they are the way they are!

ik i never shut up about terra being gay but i almost never talk about why it's such an important part of his character that i never intend to infringe on, and that's because, growing up as a deeply closeted lesbian, i resonate with terra's thinking, that there's something wrong with him, that he's the problem because he doesn't conform to what people expect from him. i'll admit, a decent part of this headcanon is me projecting, as a kid who grew up in the homophobic trenches of a red state in the early 2000s, where people didn't even say the word gay until i was like, 12.

but the other part of this headcanon is that the conclusion of terra's character arc is self-acceptance, and that acceptance of himself and of who and what he is is ultimately what saves him, and i think that rings true for a lot of lgbt folks like myself. both myself and terra have spent large portions of our lives overcompensating for things we believe others will perceive as flaws or problems. much like riku, i perceive and thus write terra as a semi-closeted gay man because it's not always a part of his life that he's comfortable sharing, just as i'm not always comfortable sharing it with the people around me.

ultimately, terra's story is one of self-acceptance, of loving yourself first, just as you are, perceived flaws and all, of healing and learning to love the parts of you that were rejected by others, and honestly ?? that reads more lgbt to me than anything else, because just as much as that's terra's story, it's mine, too.

That new art piece reminded me. I think the fandom sleeps on potentially interesting relationships that could be explored between Nagito and Natsumi or Nagito and Sato. Like I've seen a couple of interesting fics where he feels more drawn to the former than other Reserve Course students. Seeing her as a potential "diamond-in-the-rough" that he believes might be Ultimate quality, and thinking she should replace him. And also because he feels Class 77 would be all the more stronger for a Kuzuryuu sibling team. Meanwhile with Sato, their mindsets are eerily similar to each other. I've seen one interesting AU where they have a kind of sibling dynamic after getting roped into a talent-worshipping cult.

Hijiri couldn't place what it was about the last few days. If he could be honest, it was a fog as to how the days passed. Not in the 'every day is the same so it's all a blur' way. It was more of he had simply forgotten its existence altogether. They were somewhere along side several scorched meals, messages not even opened and even the knowledge on using the door.

He had remained in his apartment, worried about what he could've caught. Sickness wasn't familiar to him and until now, Hijiri wasn't certain he could get sick. But it was other only thing he could describe it as. Though nothing seemed like how he'd heard it. Yet it seemed each time Hijiri started to piece anything cohrent that pain shocked.

Like that unknowing blade, Hijiri never knew when it would fall. It left him anxious during the day. And when it struck, he was taken by a breath of cherry blossoms perfume and the slickness of red. It left him breathless...then nothing. He'd come back to awareness hours later. With a sensation of blood crawling about him...like it was flowing outside his veins. This wasn't a normal sickness...

He checked his phone to find a message. Ezra? Right, he sent a longer message earlier...had he read it...?

I think it's impossible to expect people (even politicians) to be perfectly moral and correct. People really set themselves up when they expect their fav celebs to be perfect angels that always say the right thing, especially when folks politics are not all that aligned or cohrent. Plus, even the most fucked up people belive that their politics are more moral than others.

I recently learned a lot about having multiple incarnations on this planet and how traumatic experiences shatter you into pieces. With every incarnation you continue to lose "pieces" of you. Or rahter you lose connection to your soul or the real self or whatever you want to call it.

For me the The Love You Want symbolizes those incarnations or that cycle of re-incarnations that Vessel can't escape but “the vicious cycle” ended at some point. And also every ribbon in that video symbolizes one incarnation on that planet.

So...well yes. I agree 100% XD. That's what I wanted to say...cohrent thinking has left me today.

The time loop in the TLYW music video! Or maybe its a death loop? Anomalous cycle? Idk if there's a better word or trope for what is happening in that video, but (to me at least) it is implied that Vessel wakes up under the red tree with a white ribbon in his hand each time he "dies" while battling the dancers. He ties the ribbon to a branch and then goes right back through the loop.
