*breaks down your Inbox's door* *heavy breathing* I've made my own Shadow OCs but don't think this means I'm happy about it.

*I am actively losing sanity because Graves and his Shadows have me in a death grip*

So here, here are my Shadows. There's like nothing on them cause I've just now made this shit up for ~reasons~

Andrew 'Woody' Fallwood. Gets his callsign from his name and the fact he's a cowboy. Around 5'11", not very big but is plenty strong. He's a silly guy, likes to make jokes and stuff to keep the others calm, especially big boy Moose. Almost always has a cigarette in his mouth. Can be a bit of an ass but that's just cause he's a stubborn little Southern man. More of an Appalachian southern man, and grew up on a cattle farm. Just really loves cows cause he has so many fond memories of the cows under his family's care. Scary good shot. At least it's scary until people learn he grew up in rural Appalachia and then it's just "oh you've been shooting since you were six, haven't you?"

Cole 'Flash' Halley. Tall, lanky guy that stands at around 6'2". Youngest to be recruited into Shadow Company, often gets called "Baby" or similar things since he's so young. Instantly became so many of the Shadows' new younger brother. Gets his name from one of his first days as a Shadow where he beat a record for completing an obstacle course in the fastest time. He holds all the records for "fastest" on so many things on base, including "fastest time to get a hug from Moose". Cause while Moose is a nice guy and all, he doesn't just go around hugging people, especially the newer Shadows. All Flash had to do though was walk up to him in tears and Moose's big brother instincts kicked in. This was his second day on base. He's the stereotypical little brother, though, cause he's constantly doing things to piss other Shadows off/to just be annoying for the hell of it.

Matthew 'Truck' Simmons. Shorter (around 5'8"), but broad, bulky guy. He's been dubbed "getaway driver". He drives everything, from the great big tanks to just normal ass cars. Definitely a truck freak, and is always in the shop, working on any of the numerous terrain vehicles the Shadows have. Had to repeat a couple of school years, and the second he turned 18 he enlisted. He was sick of being told he wasn't "smart" just because he can't do well on academic tests. But put a truck in front of him and a toolkit and he can tell you every single thing about that truck in extreme detail.

Jacob 'Ness' Owens. Not tall at all compared to most other Shadows, only around 5'6". He's a superb swimmer, and is almost always in the water. Loves to dive and do other water related missions. If he could, he'd swim in the outdoor pool year long (it's closed during the off seasons), but luckily the indoor pool's temperature is more easily controlled, thus allowing him to intentionally make it colder. These pools are for training, but the indoor one tends to be more recreational. Ness is required to sign into something when he wants to swim, cause he always makes it colder, and Graves got sick of the complaining from Shadows trying to swim after he's done. Gets his callsign from the fact he's often in his full wetsuit while swimming, and one time, during the night, several Shadows saw him swimming outside and joked he looked like the Loch Ness Monster. He's very quiet and rarely talks, doesn't like to be around a lot of people, but does a good job and is still friendly enough. Prefers giving in to his cryptid namesake (and the fact he's Ohioan) and doing weird things to get out of conversations. (like staring wide-eyed at them and sinking under the table like it's the water level)

Anyways, back to complaining over my willing obsession over Graves and Shadow Company

Moose is actually an excellent swimmer and handles the cold pretty well so him and Ness would bond over that. Moose won’t stay in the water as much but he would definitely join him for a swim.

Flash would definitely be mothered by Moose. Having joined when he was pretty young himself he’s pretty protective of younger Shadows. He tries to not be overbearing but sometimes he can’t help it and worries over them.

Moose would love to hear Truck talk about his vehicles. He knows a few things himself about them, well enough to get them running or to make repairs if needed. He likes listening to people talk about things they’re passionate about.

Woody would definitely be good friends with Moose. The jokes would win him over and they have a shared love for cows. But the accent would definitely have a part in it, something Moose won’t admit. A southern accent is very comforting to him.

Ness definitely scared the shit out of Moose a couple times crawling out of the pool like that. And Moose is just wanting to protect Flash! Poor Ghost trying to get him to like him but it keeps backfiring on him.

After the events of Las Almas and everything involving Shepherd gets fixed, Task Force 141 and Shadow Company are forced to spend 8 weeks together (minimum) to repair trust and regain their alliance.

Flash: I am new here, so why do we hate them? *everyone is now suddenly very awkward* *Woody leans over and whispers the answer to Flash* Flash: Nevermind, sir! *sits back down* Graves: This is gonna be awful

*Soap has found himself in the motor pool* Soap: Damn, this truck is nice! Truck, appearing behind him: It is, but you aren't, so get the fuck out of my shop. Soap: But I've never seen an American HEMTT before!! Truck, skeptical: You know what kind of truck this is? Soap: Hell yeah! *an hour later* Graves: It seems like everyone's getting along okay, so far. Price, scowling: Sure, we'll go with that. It's not at all like your Shadows are terrorizing my men. Graves: That's a bold accusation- What the fuck? *they both look over to see Truck telling Soap all about the HEMTT and Soap is loving every second* Price: Is that an issue? Graves: Truck doesn't like anyone in his shop... Soap, notices them: PRICE LOOK AT THIS FUCKING TRUCK!! IT GOT COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TRUCK HERE COMPLETELY REDID IT FROM SCRATCH!! ISN'T THAT SO COOL?! CAN WE GET A TRUCK LIKE THIS?? Price: Absolutely not! Graves, doubled over: The world is ending...

*Another day of Ghost watching Flash run cause he's afraid of the power this kid has* Woody, walking with Moose: I don't think Ghost has any ill intentions here, okay? Moose: You don't know that! Woody: Give me one reason to believe Ghost isn't a good guy. Moose, shaking and pointing: He watches Flash run and I don't know why. *Ghost is standing there with his arms crossed and blatantly watching Flash* Woody: Oh, yeah he does. That's... normal, right? I mean we all watched Flash run like this when he was brand new. Moose: But- *can't form words to convey his concern for Flash's safety* Woody: Tell ya what, I'll get Graves to talk to their captain about getting Ghost to stop. In the meantime, just hang out here and keep an eye on the kid if you're so worried. Moose: Uh, okay... Sure, I'll stay here by myself with The Ghost and be the only thing keeping Flash safe. *Woody shakes his head with a laugh and leaves* *Ghost gets the uncomfortable feeling he's being watched* *looks over to see Moose glaring daggers at him* Ghost, thinking: God that guy really hates me, doesn't he? Maybe I should show I'm actually concerned this kid's gonna drop halfway through his laps... yeah, that'll work, right? Shadows are loyal to each other. Moose, thinking: I'm so fucking scared right now, but if he makes one move towards Flash I'll- I'll kill him! Ghost, calling out to Flash: You need a water break! Flash: Oh shit, you right! *runs over to where Ghost is standing to get his water* Moose, terrified so it comes out harsh: Flash sets a timer on his watch for water breaks. Ghost: Oh, right. Just wanted to make sure he's not overworking himself. Flash, oblivious: 'S okay, Moose! My timer was about to go off anyways! Moose: *grunts* Ghost, thinking again as Moose all but glares at him: Well that backfired... Moose, also thinking: He's gonna fucking kill me, oh god, oh shit, Flash run! Flash, sipping his water and looking between them thinking: What am I witnessing? Is this power play? What even is that?

*Gaz and Soap talking while outside during the sunset* Soap: Have you had a conversation with that kid they call Flash, yet? Gaz: YES! Oh my god, I thought you talked. He's really nice but holy shit can he talk. *they look over upon hearing something in the water* *It's Ness crawling out of the pool in his full wetsuit* *Soap and Gaz scream cause they don't recognize him as a person* Ness: What?! ✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Vincent: originally, i used to go by 'vincent' so yeah he was named after yours truly!! if you ask about his callsign, 'shy-guy', he just reminds me of a... shy-guy. i already explained that in the extra notes here though (scroll all the way down) :D

Crow: so i actually came up with his design before his name, and how that relates to him is: i was looking for mask designs for crow, and i stumbled upon some plague dr looking gas mask and i think the original plague dr mask is of a bird, but with the dark color palette of his clothes and all, it reminded me of a crow :)

C.J.: i was watching cjya while i was coming up with a new cod oc and the rest is history

Vincent: his adorable-ness. okay but if you want a real answer i like his scars. scars are just really charming to me and i don't know why

Shadow Company OCs Incorrect Quotes

Flash, meeting Ness for the first time: Hey! I'm Cole, I'm new! Whoa, dude! Your eyes are different colors, that's so cool! Oh that means you have heterochromia, right? I had a teacher in the 5th grade with two different eyes. Granted, one of them was a fake eye. She was really cool! Anyways, I look forward to working with you, Ness! Commander said that's what everyone calls you, right? Is it after the Loch Ness Monster? If so, that's fucking sick! I've always wanted to go to Scotland, ya know? What about you? Ness, who can barely speak: Uh- Flash: Sorry, I talk really fast when I'm excited. I thought I had gone pretty slow, but it's okay! I know I'm hard to understand! 🦈 Some appearance things for all my boys

Truck is a ginger, has grown out his beard, but is already greying so there's a lot of silver in his hair and beard. He's definitely a human furnace, especially since he's got a nice layer of fat everywhere. He's just a thick man, okay?

Woody has a chipped tooth. It's not totally noticeable, but when you do notice it raises questions. His story on how it happened always changes, so no one really knows the truth. Except Graves. Because Graves is the reason it's chipped. He accidentally hit Woody once during training and chipped his tooth. Graves felt so bad about the incident, but Woody didn't care. Also, an avid socks and sandals type of Dad.

Ness always looks lost/confused, but that's just his resting face. Also constantly shaking his head, trying to clear the water out of his ears.

Flash is really skinny. Like to the point Graves and some other Shadows were concerned. It's proven to not be an issue but still. Also almost always wearing shorts and tank tops, cause it's what he runs in. And yes, small shorts. He thinks they're the easiest to run in and still hasn't fully realized that his legs, despite being skinny, are toned as hell and are, more often than not, the reason he has a crowd watching him run.

Flash tends to get a really bad rap for being "innocent" and "pure" but it's simply because he's oblivious. He's really not, especially not in the sense most Shadows think. He's got some dirty thoughts, and understands a lot of dirty jokes when he's paying attention. It's like the above scenario: the idea that he is attractive just never crosses his mind, and he doesn't pay attention to their comments or brushes them off as just being teased or something.

Which is why the first time Flash comes back to base after leave with several visible hickeys and bite marks, several Shadows nearly commit crimes because "who dare hurt our boy?!" Meanwhile Flash just cannot stop smiling like a total idiot.

Don't ask me about his partner, I wouldn't know anything more than you do. If you have ideas, I'd love to hear them! *he is a very disastrous bisexual*

oh ness has my whole heart, i absolutely love the cryptid vibes (and the heterochromia!! i actually have a shadow oc with with heterochromia as well- his name is mismatch- but anyways im getting off topic)

how do your guys get along with graves? i imagine they each have a different sort of relationship with him and im curious

Woody and Graves is easiest: they're good friends, even if tensions get a bit high between them. Woody was there not long after Shadow Company was formed, and he was there before Las Almas. Obviously, everything that happened with it changed a lot relationships between Shadows and between Graves and the Shadows. Woody is no different. While Woody used to be more of a "you're my boss" type of person towards Graves, he's much more of a friend. Graves doesn't want to lose anymore Shadows, and Woody was one of the easier ones to get close with. Graves is definitely Woody's kids' favorite uncle.

Truck and Graves are more like teammates. Truck's around his age, and he's been military for so long, that he really can't interact with Graves without having the thought of "This is my boss". Truck will still definitely be friendly with Graves, but he's a naturally closed off person, so his version of friendly is not yelling at Graves every time he comes near his shop. They don't really interact outside of the necessary things, but Truck is still a fiercely loyal Shadow.

Flash and Graves are like older cousin/younger cousin to me with a dash of mentor. But in the way of Graves is the really cool older cousin that is constantly inviting the younger one out for cool things. Graves doesn't necessarily have a "fatherly" bond with Flash, and it might be due to the fact he is Flash's boss, after all. Graves may seem really mean towards Flash, but for Flash he sees it as "brotherly bonding". He's an only child, yes, but he's heard all the stories people tell about things their siblings due to them as a form of bonding. So he just believes Graves is doing the same. He 100% looks up to Graves, and this is something Graves secretly both loves and hates. He admires that Flash sees him as accomplished/cool enough to serve as his mentor, but Graves also is so reminded of his many failures and really doesn't want to disappoint Flash/lead him astray.

Ness and Graves is definitely the funniest relationship, simply because Ness is committed to the bit. Much like with Truck, Ness and Graves don't really interact much outside of Shadow stuff: so basically they spend no time together on leave and don't willingly go to like bars and shit together. However, Ness is Graves's self-appointed assistant cause he (as having been the one to raise his siblings) is personally offended by the messy state of Graves's office. He's got such a motherly personality but it comes off as "you fucking dumbass" when he's angrily cleaning up Graves's office. It's not uncommon to see Graves working while Ness is organizing his office. Graves also a hundred percent gets so worried about Ness when he's spending a lot of time in the pools. Ness will randomly decide to train in full diving gear (he always has someone be present to assist should something go wrong), and he's almost always swimming in his full wetsuit. And since he's known to swim at night a lot, Graves gets worried something's gonna happen so he ends up sitting on the side of the pool watching. He'll sometimes time Ness's laps for training purposes, but usually he's just acting lifeguard.

Cause I just saw a post bout Coffee, what would your OC's coffee orders?

Just being a lil curious creature

I'm gonna do all of them starting with the COD ones

Bryn likes hot coffee with a bit of creamer and sugar. Not too much but still not quite bitter. Is very strict about only drinking one cup in the morning.

Woody actually doesn't like coffee, believe it or not. He's more of a tea drinker.

Truck is unsurprisingly simple. Black coffee with like a single spoonful of sugar. No one is sure if the sugar makes any difference but he swears there is. He can always somehow tell if his coffee is missing the sugar.

Ness doesn't like hot drinks but hates iced coffee so he ends up letting his coffee sit and get a bit lukewarm before chugging it all in one go. He doesn't often add anything to it but he also gets coffee that isn't as strong.

Flash is an iced latte kind of guy. Absolutely does not need coffee and is banned from it, but on the rare occasion he manages to get his hands on some, it's an iced latte

Bennett is a cold brew guy but with nothing added. Just the straight cold brew coffee.

Maxlar drinks any and all kinds of coffee. Hot, cold, doesn't matter to him. Black or so full of sugar and cream it's barely considered coffee anymore.

Malvo doesn't drink coffee, or anything actually because he doesn't need to. He's offended you would assume he drinks coffee, and especially offended you assume it's straight, steaming hot black coffee.

Devon doesn't drink coffee because he's a big Dragon and caffeine is terrible for big Dragons like him.

Hades drinks hot coffee with a buttload of creamer. It's still got enough of a coffee taste that it still counts but he's pushing the limit.

Aten, despite also being a dragon and shouldn't be drinking coffee, is a cold brew with creamer kind of guy. Hades is going to have a heart attack and die if he catches Aten drinking coffee again.

Troy, despite being a vampire, still chugs what's left of Aten's coffee when he gets yelled at for drinking coffee. It is the only coffee Troy will drink. It's weird and he knows and he doesn't care.

@snootlestheangel I read that silly little post from @cod-dump ‘s blog about the 141 interacting with the shadows and had to sketch this out real quick! I like Ness as a character a lot! I didn’t know if he had any changes in his wetsuit, so I just drew him in the basic cod wetsuit. Hope that’s alright!

Woody is an avid Candy Crush enjoyer

Truck would definitely have an app that helps with like truck maintenance or some shit (idk I'm brain dead rn)

Flash has a workout app that let's you "partner" with someone where you each track your workouts and keep each other accountable for working out even when apart. He does it with Bennett (his bf)

Ness has like maybe a nutrition app or something

Just realizing they're all healthy nerds

Bryn has a period tracker app. As a woman in the military, it's crucial for her to have a good way to track her period, and doing it herself was too unreliable with how busy she is.

Bailey uses the reminder app on her phone the most cause she's always setting reminders for her meds, school work, etc.

Anyways, a random headcanon for all of the besties

Truck: Surprisingly touchy with his wife Candy. Not even in a sexual way *most of the time*. Just in a "if they're both sitting on the couch, he has to be sitting directly next to her so they're pressed against each other" way. It's actually something he isn't aware he's doing half the time. He just always has a hand on her thigh or lower back or holding her hand. He just seems to gravitate towards her every time he's home. For the most part, Candy loves it cause she obviously knows he's a very emotionally stunted man, and this is his way of saying "I love you more than anything, I devote myself to you every moment I can". But sometimes she's very much "Matthew, for fucks sake, please, I am sweating" as he's leaning against her while they're watching a movie

Woody: Actually not a big drinker. Doesn't ever really drink alcohol and when he does its like not very strong stuff and not very many drinks

Ness: Has eaten so much sour candy he's immune to sour stuff now. Woody is mildly concerned about this

Flash: Doesn't really talk about Bennett as much as people might think. He may talk a lot, and about himself, but he still has stuff he keeps to himself

Bryn: Allergic to peaches, actually

Bailey: Has days where the autism wins and she just doesn't express her emotions. She's not as talkative, if she's talking at all. Very much just a subdued version of what she's normally like. Price and Nik have learned that it happens, it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong, and that unless she expresses she is not feeling well.

Introducing a plastic spray bottle filled with water: The most effective tool in getting Shadows to behave!

That thing you posted with the water sprayer has given me an idea

Phoenix uses said sprayer to discipline Graves when he’s being mean

Like at the whole betrayal thing in the MWii campaign? Yeah, Phoenix sprayed him in the fact before all the fighting broke out.

Ghost: You threatening us?

Graves: Soldier, I don’t make threats. I make promises.

Phoenix: *Spritzes Graves in the face* Bad, Phillip. Bad.

Phoenix also uses it on Black ice whenever he’s rough housing a little room much with one of the other shadows

Phoenix is the only one next to Graves who tries to maintain order with a spray bottle. Black-Ice gets sprayed so, so much. He’s a bit much for some Shadows and doesn’t even realize it. So, here comes Phoenix to get him to calm the fuck down. Black-Ice does wear eye makeup here and there when off the field, so often enough he has streaks of eyeliner going down his face because of Phoenix.

Everyone, not just Black-Ice, has gotten a taste of the spray bottle. Moose when he was ranting about the shit computer he had to work with? Spray. Graves when he was stressed and just being a dick to everyone? Spray. Ghost when he was tormenting some Shadows? Spray spray spray- No one is safe. Price has been sprayed more times than he’d like to admit. And Nik? He’s trying to get sprayed. Trying to be a nuisance because he thinks it’s funny.

Phoenix sprayed Bar once. Phoenix did it on reflex and froze after he realized who he had sprayed. bar was too stunned by what happened to even react. Soap was losing his shit over it, too. Funnily enough, Bar does behave better around Phoenix now.

Failure: Ness

Desire: To leave the military life behind for good and start a family. Bryn has always wanted to be a mother, she still dreams about the day she gets to have a child of her own. But it's really because of Price that she hasn't settled down. There's a few reasons Bryn and Price never initiated a romantic relationship all those years ago, but the biggest one was Bryn was actually in a relationship at the time. She and that other guy ended up getting married, but needless to say, it didn't last long. He was kind of a prick. So, Bryn has basically been waiting for years to even see Price again, she had kind of convinced herself that having a family is a far-fetched dream. But once she's reunited with Price and sees that he still has feelings for her after all these years, you bet your ass she is not going to let anything stop her from settling down and starting a family with him.

Failure: Joining the military the second he could. He basically feels he abandoned his family, especially considering he basically was raising his siblings, and being the eldest, the youngest ones were still children and they just had to deal with a neglectful mother. His youngest sibling refuses to talk to him because of it, so he definitely feels he fucked up big time with that decision. He copes with it by letting the military be his new family/life. He never had a great home life before, and now he's not the one in charge and he gets to do what he wants/loves. He's kinda moved past it, but it still hurts around the holidays when he can't see his family cause there was another fight and it was obvious he wasn't wanted there. Only his boyfriend and Woody know. Woody only knows because Ness and his boyfriend have spent a couple of Christmases with Woody and his family.

Except its all the Shadow Company ocs being the chaos gremlins they are

In other words, I desperately want to write something that focuses on Shadow Company doing their job but like all the characters are ocs from the COD community. I just feel like it's necessary to have something that unites all the Shadow ocs like they're supposed to be.

I mean, they're all ocs of the same organization and we're just supposed to pretend they wouldn't interact?

We're just supposed to pretend that my boy Truck isn't known by all the Shadow ocs as "old man"?

We're just supposed to pretend Meerkat (@stuffireadandenjoy 's shadow oc) isn't encouraging my pretty boy Flash to do something stupid??

I want my boy Woody to lose his shit laughing as @deeptrashwitch 's ocs beat mine in the Shadow Olympics

I want @cod-dump 's big boy Moose to watch in confusion and mild fear as @midnight193 's boy Star and my boy Flash do their shenanigans

I want to see all the Shadow ocs together like they should be. I want all our Shadow ocs to have complicated interpersonal relationships like they would if they were real teammates/coworkers. I want to know which ocs would find Ness attractive and which are terrified of the base cryptid.

I just want to see our Shadow Company

And if I have to be the one to do it, then so be it. I don't know what 'it' is but that's not the point

Price was awol after killing Shepherd, Ghost vanished as he hunted down Konni group, Laswell was swallowed into hunting Makarov down (and helping Soap as a new contact once he recovers from the injury). Gaz continued on with his life completely alone, and upon finding out Soap was never dead, he cracks.)

Every time I hear it, I have this little mental image of our beautiful blonde bombshell just dancing around in his bottlecap covered jean jacket. It's funky and fun and just it's my little Flash boy

Flash started having his sexuality crisis after joining Shadow Company. He swears the two aren't related.
