Corleone: Hot Chocolate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designer's Reflection: Hot Chocolate
Obtained: Casual Drinks workshop
Rarity: SR
Attribute: Blue/Cool
Awakened Suit: Dark Chocolate
Story - transcripts from Designer's Reflection
Chapter 1 - Hot Chocolate
Chapter 2 - Old Tales of Rosset
Chapter 3 - Between New and Old
Story - summarized
When Corleone returns from a mission, he finds a mug of hot chocolate on his desk. But he doesn't drink it normally. He asks his old friend Lianne if she left it for him, but she didn't. But she does remind Corleone of when they were younger, before they joined the Justiciars.
They fought in the Apple Independence War. At the time, Pigeon kept sending goods, like cocoa beans, to Apple even when the people couldn't afford the imports. Sick of the oppression, Corleone led an ambush at the Intercontinental Train Station and destroyed the freight of cocoa beans. He almost killed the Pigeon commander there - Zoey appeared and stopped him.
Back in the present, Yeeso barges into the room. He's having trouble finishing a weapons report, and he needs Corleone's help. In return, Yeeso had made a gourmet hot chocolate for him. To Corleone's surprise, the drink tastes great.
Together, they work until the report is complete. As they bring it to Zoey, they all prepare for a new mission to the Intercontinental Train Station.
Connections
-Yeeso and Corleone were in another drink Reflection together: Iced Coke. Yeeso stole a power-up from Corleone during a game tournament, and he had to face him in training afterward. Yeeso lost and gave Corleone the rest of his gourmet soda.
-Other soldiers that fought in the Apple Independence War were Loen (he recounts his days on the battlefield in Gleaming Vines) and his cousin (and Vermillion's sister) Snownight White (Loen shares her story in Snownight Hawk).
Fun Facts
-Cocoa beans grow best in warm, humid climates, close to the equator. So unless Pigeon's lands extend far enough to the tropics, they would've had to import cocoa beans themselves before shipping them to Apple, inflating the price of the cocoa.
-This is Corleone's only suit with a Reflection. His other suits are the benefit suit Misty Adversity, the Memory Collection suit Reclamation Project, and the Guild suits Black Hound Masquerade and Silver Fang Masquerade.

All about carob! 🌲🫘
🟤 The carob tree, a flowering evergreen native to the Mediterranean and the Middle East, grows up to 50 feet tall and produces edible legume fruit pods.
🍫 Carob is typically used as a chocolate substitute in cooking using carob powder/flour, which is made from the dried, roasted, and finely ground carob pods. Compared to chocolate, carob is naturally sweet, does not have any caffeine content, is around 1/3 of the calories, is higher in calcium, is cholesterol free, and has zero fat. Carob on its own is also high in antioxidant content and fiber. Great for people on caffeine-free diets and safe for children! And while not a nutritional choice for animals, it's safe for both dogs and cats to accidentally or moderately eat compared to chocolate.
Tumblr media
🚢 Carob requires minimal amounts of rain, is not very labor intensive, does not require post-harvest fermentation, and does not have any issues with child labor human rights violations (unlike chocolate). Per year, 125kg can be harvested from a mature carob tree vs 1.5kg cocoa beans from a mature cocoa tree. We'll discuss more differences between these two in additional posts that cover taste, sustainability, and human rights. (Be sure to follow us)

❓ Did you know? In days gone by, jewelers used the uniform weight of the seeds of the carob tree (200mg) to measure the weight of gold and gems, and called it a "carat." The "carat" takes its name from the Greek word for a carob seed, keration, via the Arabic word, qīrāṭ.
Tumblr media
🤔 But what does it taste like? It has its own unique flavor but can be described as tasting like sweetened dark chocolate. It might be a required taste or you might love it the first time you try it!
Have you tasted carob yet? Do you use it in baking often? 🥰

Confectionery Raw Materials: The Foundation of Sweet Creations
Tumblr media
The confectionery industry thrives on the creativity and precision of its products, from luscious chocolates to delightful candies. Behind every sweet indulgence lies a selection of high-quality confectionery raw materials. These materials serve as the building blocks for crafting exceptional treats, ensuring consistency, flavor, and visual appeal. Let’s explore the essential ingredients and their critical roles in confectionery production.
Key Confectionery Raw Materials
Cocoa Products Cocoa is at the heart of many confectioneries, offering both flavor and structure. Cocoa beans, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, and cocoa liquor are indispensable ingredients for chocolates and baked goods. High-quality cocoa products provide the rich taste and texture that consumers associate with premium treats.
Sugar and Sweeteners Sugar is a cornerstone of confectionery, imparting sweetness and contributing to texture and shelf life. Alternative sweeteners, such as stevia or maltitol, cater to the demand for sugar-free or reduced-sugar options, broadening the appeal of confectionery products.
Dairy Products Milk powder, butter, and cream are used to create smooth textures and enhance flavors in products like milk chocolates, toffees, and caramels. These ingredients are crucial for achieving the creamy consistency that many confectionery items require.
Fats and Oils Specialty fats, including cocoa butter equivalents and vegetable oils, play a vital role in achieving the desired mouthfeel and stability in chocolates and other confections. These fats are carefully selected to align with production requirements, such as melting points and texture.
Flavorings and Additives Natural and artificial flavorings, such as vanilla, fruit extracts, and spices, bring depth and variety to confectionery products. Additives like emulsifiers and stabilizers ensure consistency, while food colorings enhance visual appeal.
Nuts, Fruits, and Inclusions Almonds, hazelnuts, dried fruits, and other inclusions add texture and flavor to confections. These ingredients cater to diverse consumer preferences and elevate the sensory experience of the final product.
The Role of High-Quality Raw Materials
The quality of confectionery raw materials directly impacts the taste, texture, and shelf life of the final product. Premium materials ensure that the confectionery meets industry standards and satisfies consumer expectations. Producers who prioritize quality are more likely to retain customer loyalty and succeed in competitive markets.
Sustainability in Sourcing Raw Materials
As consumers increasingly seek ethical and sustainable products, the confectionery industry is focusing on responsible sourcing of raw materials. Cocoa, sugar, and nuts sourced through fair trade or sustainable farming practices align with consumer values while supporting the livelihoods of farmers.
Partnering with Reliable Suppliers
The success of any confectionery business depends on its access to consistent, high-quality raw materials. Partnering with trusted suppliers ensures a steady supply chain and adherence to global standards.
Innovating with Confectionery Raw Materials
Advancements in food technology are driving innovation in confectionery raw materials. Ingredients like plant-based dairy alternatives and sugar substitutes enable producers to cater to health-conscious and vegan consumers without compromising taste or quality.
At Tradehub FZ LLC, we understand the importance of premium confectionery raw materials in crafting exceptional products. Our wide range of high-quality ingredients supports manufacturers in meeting diverse market demands. From cocoa to specialty fats, we provide the essentials for sweet success.
