Probably not one to just have chapstick on him at all times so he steals yours

When you first notice he’s been stealing your chapstick you can’t help but smile

Everytime you kiss it tastes like strawberries now because he’s started carrying his own supply of chapstick so you kiss him more often (not that he would admit that)

“Kei, have you seen my chapstick?” You ask as you start looking around the room. You were sure you left it in here. Not on the table, not on the couch…where could it have gone?

“Yeah, I have it right here. You really need to be more careful where you leave your things dummy.” He rolls his eyes and holds out the chapstick to you. You notice a sheen across his lips though and smile a little. 

“Did you use my chapstick?” 

“And if I did? What are you gonna do about it?” You laugh a little and lean into his face. 

“My lips are a little chapped if you don’t mind.” With that you kiss him and while he’s still in shock take your chapstick back. “You know if you wanted to use it you could’ve just asked.”

He gets the same flavor every time and goes to one specific store because it’s the only one that carries that flavor

“Tobi, take me with you!” You cling to him. He rolls his eyes and shrugs a bit to get you up and walking by yourself. 

“Sure, you can come with me. Maybe you can get some of your own chapstick while you’re at it.” He teases and gives you a smile. You shove him playfully.

“Then where would be my reason to kiss you?”

“Maybe you can just kiss your boyfriend?” He raises an eyebrow at you and opens the door to the store for you. 

“Nah! It’s more fun this way.” 

He gets jealous when you do in fact find a chapstick and stop kissing him when your lips get chapped

He 100% hides the chapstick so you have to come to him again

Another one to steal your chapstick

It was a random one you had in your bag so you just gave it to him from your stash

Definitely only uses cake flavors now because it reminds him of you

Hinata looked around everywhere for the small tube of vanilla cake chapstick you had given him. He was upset that he couldn’t find it. Where was it? He looked everywhere before he gave up. He was sulking on the couch when you returned home. “Y/N, I’m sorry.” He sniffles.

You rush over to him and sit down in front of him. “Oh, Sho, what’s wrong?” You cup his face.

“I lost the chapstick you gave me.” You start laughing. 

“Is that it?” You smile and rummage through your bag before pulling out another chapstick. “I have more, you know.” You hand the chapstick to him. Birthday Cake. 

You noticed he liked the cake flavors so you kept a stash with you at all times incase he happened to lose another one

He found the chapstick he lost the next week, turns out he left it at practice

When you lose your chapstick though he’s there proudly offering the one you gave to him

Now during Christmas time he stocks up because you told him you liked how his lips tasted once

This doesn’t mean he doesn’t like playing tricks on you though

Remember that trend where people were kissing their partners with lip plumper? Yeah he 100% did that to you

Makki smiled as his plan was coming together. You were going to come home any minute and he was the picture of a doting boyfriend. Sitting on the couch waiting patiently for you to return so you could give him a kiss. 

When you do finally walk through the door you smile and rush to your boyfriend. He’ll never get over how your face lights up when you see him. It’s probably one of his favorite things, that he can make you happy just by being there. You immediately go down to kiss him. After a few minutes though your lips start tingling. Your eyes narrow at him. “Makki. Did you put lip plumper on?”

“Are my kisses that electric to you honey?” He says with a shit eating grin on his face. Well, that answers that question. 

It’s okay though, you get back at him 

You two keep each other on your toes but there’s no denying that when you kiss him and taste hot coco you fall in love all over again

Iwaizumi

Not against changing flavors if you give it to him though

He always has one on him, a habit he picked up from Oikawa

Definitely teases you though when you first kissed him and recoiled because you weren’t expecting mint

You had finally worked up enough nerve to kiss Iwaizumi. You lean in slowly but once your lips touch you jump back. Your lips tingle and you’re not sure why. Iwaizumi starts laughing though. “My lips are so tingly!” You whisper-yell and put your hand over your mouth. It’s then that you notice the smell of mint. “Hajime! How could you,” you push him back a little. 

“Sorry my love! I didn’t know you would react like that!” This time though you’re prepared when he kisses you again. The tingling of the mint fades away quickly and it’s replaced by the warmth of his lips

As a result his kisses are cold and then warm

You learn to love the cold and find it refreshing, especially if he’s coming back from his morning run and you need a kiss to wake you up

Pair that with his mint toothpaste and you’ve got a recipe to wake you up and get ready for the day

Mattsun

Blueberry Poptart

He tries to find the weirdest flavors he can

He just also really likes the Blueberry Poptart flavor though so it’s the one he always comes back to

It’s a hard flavor to find but he thinks it’s worth it for the smile you make when you notice the flavor

Chapstick game with his collection

Mattsun thought with his collection of wacky flavors it would be fun to play the chapstick game. A good excuse to kiss you as much as he wanted to without any other reason. Of course you agreed so here the two of you were, sitting on your bed with chapstick splayed out on the blanket. 

“So, do you want to go first?” You ask as you look at all the options. Mattsun smiles and nods. 

“Yeah, sure. Close your eyes though. No cheating.” He could care less about if you cheated or not. He just wanted to kiss you for hours. Hence why he brought out his full collection of 60 different flavors. You were going to be here for a while.

It was the chapstick you were wearing on your first date when he kissed you (That’s why he comes back to it) 

You two also definitely play the chapstick game again whenever either of you want to kiss each other without a good reason

Sakusa

Cherry

Another simple man

He just wants his lips to be hydrated

Enjoys your smile when you kiss him and realize it’s cherry though

There’s nothing sentimental about it you just like the taste of cherry chapstick

Your first kiss wasn’t anything spectacular. The both of you were nervous but weren’t sure why. The two of you had kissed other people before so why was it so nerve wracking this time? Sakusa is the one who gets his head together first and cups your face. He pulls down his mask and smiles softly at you. “Are you ready?”

You nod your head with a shaky smile. Both of you lean in and it’s a very nice kiss. It’s gentle and you’re not sure why you were so worried before. The both of you pull away with a smile. “That wasn’t so scary. We were just being silly. Also, the cherry is nice. I like it.” You say and lean back in for another. He lets out a small chuckle and leans back in too. 

Will only try a new chapstick if you’re the one wearing it

If he really wants to try it he’ll give you a quick kiss before standing back up and acting like nothing happened

Another weird chapstick connoisseur 

He just really likes Fanta so he keeps some on him wherever he goes

He has at least 6 of them at a time; One in his gym bag, school bag, pants pocket, jacket pocket, one at home on the counter, and one on the bedside table

Also on that enjoys the shocked look on your face

He had only just started carrying around chapstick after he learned your lips could get sunburnt. Needless to say when you kissed him goodbye that morning Fanta was certainly not what you were expecting to taste. He just stands there smirking as you lick your lips confused. “Is that…Fanta? Do you have Fanta chapstick?” 

“Guilty as charged.” He says and leans against the door frame. “Want another one?” You roll your eyes but pull him into another kiss. 

“Not what I was expecting but it’s not bad.” 

Switches it up with other soda flavors

Loves surprising you but that doesn’t mean you can’t surprise him too

You find a Pepper chapstick and rewrap it so it looks like the Fanta one

Payback for all the times he’s pranked you

quick sum: a girls night out. birthday. dinner. club. seeing jude unexpectedly after you over heard him say things that left you hurt and confused… but hey, maybe this could be the moment of your life…

You laughed loudly in disbelief as you saw your girlfriends walk through the door. You lazily got up from your bed into a seating position and smiled big when they appeared holding flowers, balloons, and a pink heart-shaped cake for your birthday. They sang Happy Birthday loudly, recording your reaction as they went and circled around your bed. You weren't expecting them, so your shocked reaction to them made them chuckle. 

You brushed your hair back and put your glasses on top of your head, from the studying you were doing for your communications class. “Make a wish, darling!” your best friend said, sitting next to you while holding the cake. There were many things you wished for but being here with them just made you feel so grateful and loved after the last couple of weeks. You closed your eyes in delight and blew the candles. 

Clapping your hands and thanking them, but that’s when you notice them being fully dressed up, short dresses or mini skirts, and or tight tops. “Uh-”

“We're going out to celebrate. So get up, take a shower, and we’ll do your hair and makeup. We bought you this midi dress, and you’ll wear it.”

There was no making remarks or opinions when your friend Ella spoke, she had a clear message and you had to hear it. But you just weren't up for going out, you’d rather just do something here with them since it was unexpected. Open that bottle of tequila and vodka, and drink your sorrows away till the next day. “Guys, I love you more than anything, but I really don’t want to… We can do something here-”

“No no no. We have reservations in two hours at this fancy restaurant downtown, so we can’t stay,” Ella spoke again, going over and grabbing your hand to pull you out of bed. She struggled since your feet were planted on the ground, only dragging and moving along when she tugged you towards the bathroom. “Shower. Go.” You huffed but did what she said, managing to quickly shave your legs and wash your hair. 

You moisturized your body with some lotion and did skincare to let the products sit before they did your makeup. Ella knocked on the door and passed you the black dress, it looked short, and it was slightly shorter than what you were used to, but it hugged and shaped your curves well, your legs looked tan and toned, your boobs perky and sat nicely. You went and also picked out the black stiletto heels, knowing the would define your legs even more, stepping out with them in your hand. 

Your friends gassed you up, complementing you, a warm blush spreading your cheeks. But, they still rushed you to sit down so they could get to work. You begged them for a natural look, not wanting anything that would sweat off if you guys decided to go clubbing, surprise surprise they listened. You did agree to some small dramatic lashes, which shaped your eyes with the brown eyeshadow. 

While they did that Ella, quickly blow-dried your hair, and gave you a small blowout, nothing too crazy but what went with you. Your friends attempted to re-act the scene from Princess Diaries which made everyone wheeze as you headed downstairs. Your jaw dropped and smiled widely as you saw the small decorations in the kitchen, along with the pink cake from before. 

“You guys! This is so cute!” you yelled out, going to hug each and everyone, seriously enjoying the princess treatment. “You deserve it all, darling! Hurry let's pre-game, and take some pics before we head out,” one of your friends said, all of them quickly agreeing. 

The ride to the restaurant went fully smooth, now currently seated in one of the prettiest restaurants you've been to. “Ella, listen I love you, but I'm not wearing that damn tiara…” you shut her down for the millionth time, making her roll her eyes. She sounded like your mom with her protest saying it was just for pictures, but all you had in mind was to eat. 

“Oh fuck…” you looked up from your menu and glanced around confused. But then you saw who exactly made your friend curse out loud. You hid behind the menu again, attempting to look discrete. But you felt the cold rush through your veins, the feeling of your stomach dropping at the sight of the familiar curls, and white smile. All you could do was nod when your friend asked if you were okay, and pretend like you were fine, but deep down, the last thing you wished for was to make sure he didn't see you at all. 

He was through your eye range, and you didn't hesitate to move when your friend offered to switch spots, your back facing him as you walked to the seat. Call you dramatic but you didn't care, you deserved to be happy on your birthday and that was the plan. It was quickly forgotten by them when the drinks arrived, you tried to distract yourself but your mind went back to him. 

Jude had been someone you were helping out to learn Spanish once he first moved to Madrid. Of course, who could deny his gentleman status, his attractive features in those times the two of you were together? Him acting cocky at times, the brush of hands when you passed him the papers, and the strong eye contact when you explained the attributes of the language. You felt a mass of butterflies around him, and it seemed like he did too when he confessed he felt the same way. 

You shared your first kiss, the rain tapping slightly against the window, the scented candles lighting the room when the light went out, the way he would quickly stare at your lips then back up at your eyes, had you clenching your legs shut. And when your lips finally brushed against his, there was no turning back, the passion, the small grunts and moans from the both of you, the way he tugged on your hair making you go crazy. The tight grip on your waist as your tongues fought for dominance. 

 After that, the two of you got closer than ever. The regular routine of coming over to help him with his Spanish lessons quickly turned into dates in your apartment. Making dinner, teaching him, then cuddling while watching movies. He never pushed for more, respecting any boundaries, which made you feel assured it was real. It felt right. You felt safe and sound, forgetting how cruel the world was to you when you were with him. Only him. He became someone that anytime you saw, you knew you didn't have to worry about anything. It was just the two of you. 

But that changed after a party, a party he insisted you go to since he claimed he wouldn't know how to communicate with anyone. After you stepped away to get a drink, you regretted coming. Those few minutes of agony turned to hours as you felt stupid and used, quickly leaving and didn't bother looking back. 

That was a month ago, and now you're here, looking at the waiter confused when a blue drink was brought to your table, to you specifically. “Who is this from?” you couldn't help but ask, maybe wondering if it was from Jude… “It was sent from him,” you followed where he had pointed, and met with a tall, brunette, European dressed man. You raised the drink, as in a thank you, to which he smirked. 

“Seems like you got his attention… You planning to say hi?” your friend teased, to which you gave her a playful glare. “Who knows,” you shrugged, taking a sip of your wine instead of the blue drink, “Maybe it could be the moment of my life.”

The food was amazing, and your tastebuds fell in love with the flavor of the dish you chose. You all laughed and reminisced on the good times together, especially those when you were dorming with each other, and that trip to Germany where you had lost your bags. “No guys I can’t. It feels like I’ve done an ab workout after all this laughing,” you said, grabbing your stomach. “No, but like I said, I don’t remember that night at all-”

You covered your face when you heard them starting to sing Happy Birthday, hating the attention from the whole restaurant on you. It was slightly embarrassing, and they did this knowing it would be a good laugh, which you didn't mind since you had done it to one of them before. All you could do was shift around in your seat, looking around the table before blowing the candles out again the second time. 

“I had the goal! I had it!-” Jude was quickly cut off by the cheering, glancing over to the table in the corner, his breath hitched, seeing the familiar smile as they turned their head to what their friend was saying, watching as you threw your head back laughing contently. It looked like you were happy, over the moon. You were all he frequently thought of these days, he needed and wanted to know what you were doing, how you were, wishing to ask what the hell went wrong between the two of you. He was going crazy not knowing, especially since all you did was leave him on read. No matter where he was, his only thought was you. 

“Y/n is here,” was all that Jude said, shifting to look straight at you, but it was quite difficult. “Jude, you’re speaking nonsense, c’mon back to what you were saying,” his teammate said, one he grew super close with once he arrived. Jude clenched his jaw, fist knocking and tapping on the table as he turned back to you, but now watching as a man was whispering into your ear, you were smiling and nodding. 

He felt the burn rising in his chest, not liking the way you looked content next to a man that wasn't him, whispering back into his ear and watching as he went back to his table. Jude’s shoulders tensed under his shirt, a vein popping from his forehead. His tongue pointed on the inside of his cheek. What was so fucking funny that had you laughing like that? That man shouldn’t haven't even been there, it should’ve been him there. 

Jude knew it was your birthday today, and he wondered if you had received the roses he sent along with a letter. He was tempted to go over there and try to make amends but it wasn’t the time or place for that. So for the rest of his dinner, he just stared at you, gawking at how you looked. The dress causing dirty images in his head, urging him to go over and run his hand down your spine to your ass, make you yours as he desired. 

“I need a drink,” he sighed, rubbing his fingers over the lines on his forehead. Hi teammate laughing at his distressed look, teasing him for thinking about it too much and letting it get to his head. “If you're that bothered, why don’t you go over and talk to her? Maybe she’s willing to explain?” he said, but Jude shook his head. “I don’t think she wants to see me. She's made it clear by not texting me back or answering my calls. She won't even approve for our next Spanish lesson!” 

While you hadn’t, Jude had known of you prior to meeting you. Hearing how you were a special friend to those around him. You had a bright smile, warm eyes, and a caring personality, yet were so shy and innocent, and always willing to help him no matter what. You were too good for him, but he was whipped, wanting to know anything and everything about you. Jude brought himself to ask you to be his Spanish teacher in a way, after approving his transfer in early March, when those moving rumors began to surface in the media. 

When he finally asked you, it looked like you were taken at back, he quickly fell mesmerized with you, the way your eyes glimmered, your rosy cheeks, the way you couldn't hold proper hold eye contact with him, being intimidated by his gaze. What he absolutely adored was the way you fit in his embrace, you were smaller than him, and he was scared those times when you hugged he would hold you tight but that wasn't the case. He would never miss a session, bringing something to you every time from it being your favorite snacks to even your favorite roses. 

When you’d meet in public, it was a private cafe or somewhere secluded so he wouldn't get recognized. But even then, it was always so hard to focus on teaching a language, when all you did was talk about each other's lives. Having grown up as a quiet person, living most of your life privately, meeting Jude probably was the best thing that ever happened to you. You were used to everyone leaving you or being treated like nothing but him? You were his absolute world. 

It took time to get out of that shell you created. You were scared of being used or one of the so-called flings. you never let him in, slowly but surely you began to dig deeper into his heart. You fell, but he fell harder for you. He made you feel comfortable in your setting, never pushed you for me, he was respectful and brutally honest, which you admired. 

“Are we ready to go?” you asked after paying. They argued over who would pay what but in the end it was decided to split the check between everyone. You slid from the table, walking where he wouldn't see you if he was paying attention. You made sure your dress wasn't high, and fixed your jewelry, walking slowly out the door but you were suddenly stopped by that man again.

“Leaving so soon?”

“Yes. Thank you for the drink once again, but like I said I'm not interested in anything right now if that makes sense. I'm just focusing on myself and getting started with my career,“ you apologize feeling like owed him an explanation, but you didn’t. He just gave off bad vibes, and you didn't like his aura and cocky self. “Not even your number? If time is what you need I’ll be more than welcome to wait.”

He was persistent and you almost gave in. Why did you feel bad rejecting him? You had told yourself if someone new wanted to enter your life, you would allow them. You were going to be open to moving on after Jude. But why was it so hard to do just that? For god’s sake, you couldn't even give him your number, without thinking back to Jude. Thinking of how he would feel, or what he would say to you. 

You gave him an apologetic smile, before nodding your head, “What about my insta?” to which he quickly agreed. 

If Jude was jealous before, he was over the roof now. He scoffed seeing you exchange whatever you were doing, his nails deep into the palm of his hands ignoring the sting in his heart. Were you moving on? Even if there was no label put on the two of you, it looked like you were, and that truly scared him. Jude’s questions were still unanswered to him, and now he was losing it, darting over to where you were. “Jude just give it up. Give her-” he heard them say but he was just focused on you. 

“No. You can’t, I won't let you. She’s doing just fine without you,” one of your friends said as she saw the tall man beginning to approach you. “I don't care! I am miserable and I won’t put up without a fight. If she doesn't want to talk I'll hear it from her,” he said, which is true, he could have his temper and you knew that. He wasn’t going to give up so soon. Giving up on you was out of the picture…“I'll see you around,” the stranger said smirking, making Jude internally gag. 

“You won’t.”

You look up and see him standing there, just like you had seen him before with an all-black outfit. He looked hurt, a small frown placed on his lips, and his brows plugged in together confounded. Jude turned his gaze to Alex, now a scowling look to the stranger from tonight, once he heard him remark back, “And who's to stop me from that? You?”

Jude licked his lips, and scratched his temple, nodding before saying something, “Yes me. Is that a problem?” he raised his brow, approaching Alex closer with small steps. “Well, it seems like your girl, Y/n right?,” Alex pointed to you with his head, “Is currently not taken, so I'm free to do whatever I’d like. And if she was, well then, seems like it didn’t stop her from giving me her socials?” 

Alex was starting to get into Jude’s head, he saw the rage in his eyes causing him to smirk, and tap Jude’s chest, “Well seems like you have your answer…” 

Jude placed a smug look into his face, now tapping Alex’s chest, “Like I said. She’s not interested, because quite frankly all you got was her socials. If she was interested like you seemed convinced to be, she would give in, guess your charming self isn’t fitting her cup of tea. You're only into her for one reason, and she’s not looking for that ” Jude cocked his head to the side in a ‘we both know what we're talking about’ way.

When you saw Alex approach Jude closer that's when you decided to get between them, your hand connecting with his chest, pushing Jude back. You saw Jude’s matches, and you knew what he was thinking, he lost his control easily and you didn't want to cause a scene here, especially for Jude’s sake as he was the talk of the media. An article being posted the next morning saying he was fighting, wasn’t going to look good for him. 

“Stop. Let it go,” you whispered to only where he could hear, Jude glanced down at you, grabbing your hips as you walked him outside, your friends following behind. “I'm sorry for all that, have a good rest of your night, “ you said to Alex, watching him roll his eyes, but you couldn't care less. Jude had a point, and you weren’t looking for a quick fuck. 

When you walked back out, Jude was pacing back and forth, talking to his teammates as they tried to calm him down. Ella walked towards you, trying to get you to go with them, but she understood if you wanted to talk to him. “We’ll be in the car waiting, if you need us don’t hesitate to scream,” she said to which you nodded. It looked like Jude’s friends did the same, walking over to a fancy car, with more than enough room for all of them. 

Your heels clicked against the concrete floor, catching Jude’s attention. “Wha- What was that? Care to explain?” he said furiously, his hand pointing to the direction of the restaurant. “Can you keep your voice down? I don’t think you’d want articles resurfacing-”

“Y/n! I could care less about that. Let them post it, I don’t care. I want to know what happened between us. We don't talk for weeks, and suddenly it seems like you're a new person. Did you forget about us? What we did? What we shared? How you specifically told me that you were falling for me? What the fuck changed?” Jude let out hurt. He was hurting and you saw that. 

“Well to me, I saw and heard what I needed to hear from you Jude. You played me, led me on, made me believe there could ever be something between us. But oh boy was I wrong! I was so wrong about you after you proved to me you weren't the person I had met. The Jude I met is not the one standing in front of me, not the one who promised me they felt the same way but instead lied. Do you not know what that feels like? I feel stupid, used!” you yelled. The frustration being built inside you, wanting to be let out of the cage after being built.

“Led you on? What the hell are you talking about?” he scoffed, shaking his head confused, “I made my intentions very clear to you, how I felt about you. I did anything to make you happy! I wanted to see you happy, happy next to me. I was willing to do anything, I was patient with you. There was a reason why I asked you to teach me Spanish, I wanted to get to know you. If anything I feel like you led me on,” he pointed out, motioning with his hands. 

“Excuse me? How can you say that? I wasn't the one who said ‘Yeah she means nothing to me really. Doesn’t mean shit what we are, just in it for the fun. She’s nice to be around, but being in it for the long run, you know me, how I am. This being in relationships isn't what I want right now’ when your friends asked you about me” you mocked, then slightly gasping when you realized what you’d said. Jude furrowed his brows, a shocked or surprised look on his face, not knowing what to say. 

“What?”

“You heard me. I heard you that night at the party… I went out to look for you to ask if you wanted to head home, or go out to the city, just something between us. But once I heard that it was clear I had read your intentions wrong. I wasted no time and left. Could you imagine the way they would make fun of me? For being delusional and not knowing about how you felt?”

Jude’s face softened, knowing he was caught in the act, and that what he said was true. The familiar of his chest tightening was back, not bearing the fact you were crying in front of him, all because of him. But he had to let you know that what he said wasn’t true, the only he said what he said was because those ‘friends’ he was with, only use him for social imaging. He wanted to protect you, protect you from the cruel world that existed. “Y/n-”

“No. I really don’t want to hear it… I just want to enjoy the rest of my night, my birthday with my friends. Have fun Jude��” you sniffled, wiping your tears away to look more presentable. Jude gripped your wrist when he saw you walking back, “No please, we need to talk about this! I can’t just stand here knowing we can prevent the confusion and mistake further. Please, let’s just talk.”

It's true. He always did know where to find you. Which is why he was now staring at you from the corner of the club, dancing away with your girlfriends. Take shots then and there, laugh and talk with them, and take photos with your friends. Part of him felt happy, that you were able to distract yourself after crying and being upset. But he just desperately wanted to take you home and hold you, to let you listen to what he had to say. 

His friends would include him, often earning a laugh or joke from Jude, he wasn’t also going to be upset either. He had you back and wasn't going to let you leave again, he was going to try because you didn't read his intentions wrong, just didn’t know the full story. He saw you turn down guys that came up to you, which made him feel proud, and secure, often smirking because you were his girl, his only. 

Most of his friends who came with him left, and then it was just him, standing by the bar, intensely staring at your toned legs, those heels that you wore were driving him insane. Watching as your hips moved to the rhythm of the song, your hands tracing from your thighs, up to your hips and then side, over and over again. It was almost like you were teasing him, which you were unbeknownst to him. You wanted to show him what he was willing to lose. That at the end of the day, you were going to move on and forget about him. 

It was 2 a.m. when your friends decided to leave, and they knew you wouldn't accompany them along, since Jude was still there. They couldn't blame you, they also wanted to make sure you got the closure you needed to move on, so they would support you no matter what. If there's anything you love, is that they would never bring you down or judge you. 

“Still here?” 

Jude got startled, looking down at you, a shy smile on your face, warming his heart. There was something about you being shy and innocent that pulled him in more into you. Wanting to be the only one who would see this side of you, playful and loving. “Yeah… waiting for the most beautiful in the world to leave, but looks like she's standing right in front of me now,” he said, taking a sip from his drink.

“I won’t push you to talk if you're not ready, you know I'm not like that. If you need more time I completely understand you,” Jude stated, he was serious about this, the last thing he wanted was to push you away further. What more could you lose, if talking with Jude meant him being back in your life, you were willing to try. 

“Let’s go home. I'm ready.”

Jude would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. You looked better, sexier than ever. That perfume you wore, he loved, especially how you still wore the gold charm bracelet he gave you. He loved this confident side of you, always used to the quietness and reserved part of you, so attempting to calm his nerves was hard. Trying to get his heart rate to calm down was also getting harder by the second as you led him inside your apartment. 

It was still the same, just with some birthday decor and balloons. The same desk in the back where you two had practiced and gave him Spanish lessons was still there. The plants he gifted you, were hung up and longer, as they dangeled. The teddy he had won for you when the two of you passed by a fair a certain night was on the couch, resting peacefully. The roses he’d given you for today were in a red glass vase, on the small table by a huge mirror you had, making him smile. He missed the feeling of home with you. 

“Sorry if it's a mess, I was studying when they came, and I didn't think I'd see you tonight,” you blushed embarrassed, apologizing but Jude didn't care. He instead just walked over and stared at the roses, “I was starting to think you didn't receive them, or that you threw them away…” he admitted, touching the petals. 

“No, I can’t. They're beautiful, plus it was the first thing I woke up to this morning, along with your lovely letter. Thank you by the way,” you said quietly, being respectful about the gift, interlocking your hands together as you walked over to him, breathing in the familiar cologne. “You’re welcome. I'm glad you like them.” 

You watched as his long fingers played with the ribbon on the vase, his veiny hands flexing, but you could feel his intense gaze on you, slowly looking up, getting lost in his brown eyes, the wrinkles in the outer corners. It went quiet, just the heavy breathing that appeared from both of you, the tension becoming hot and tense, swallowing your dry throat as you cleared your throat, and let out a small whisper of his name, “Jude…”

“I couldn't bear the fact, that the last time I would've seen you was that night at the party… I would've said yes to you, you know? I desperately wanted to get out of there once I joined them outside… they were people I thought I could've associated myself with but I was wrong… being new to Spain, I just wanted to build new friendships, but I regret it with them since all they wanted was the few seconds of fame… I don't know who’s real and who’s fake anymore. You were real though… what we had it's still all real to me…” he spoke up, grabbing your smaller hand into his.

“While you went inside to grab the drinks, they began to talk about you, and I wasn’t going to let them do that, because you felt safe and protected around me, you trusted me and I didn’t want to break that bond. I only said what I said because I wanted them to leave me alone, I wanted you to myself, have this privacy and intimate moments like now between the two of us. I wanted to be selfish and keep you to me,” Jude urged, tracing your knuckles with his thumbs. 

You wanted to dig yourself into a hole, never come out, unless there was a sale 100% off in Sephora. This was all interpreted wrong, you had failed to communicate with him about it, causing you to be distant and sad about it. You felt slightly at fault but it wasn't the case. It still hurt to hear because at the moment it felt like you wouldn't be enough for him. 

“What I said was wrong, and I don’t want it to come off that I become a different person when I'm around other people, because I'm not. I just wanted to protect you, and what we had. You've seen it in the past and I can prove that to you. You know me better than anyone else, only seen this side of me because you allowed me to do that. I'm a way better person around you, and only you. So please forgive me…” his voice becoming softer, pleading at you.  

Your pulse was fast, it's what being around him did to you. But him standing here, fixing things between the two of you, shutting those insecurities and unanswered questions away, and proving to you that whatever went on between you wasn't just for fun or to make you feel used. Jude was in it for the long run, only if it was you aside him, not anyone else…

“I feel dumb… I feel like I might've overreacted and this would’ve been avoided if I had just spoken to you… but it hurt because for a second you weren’t Jude, my Jude…” you said, making Jude’s heart race at the words ‘my Jude’. “I thought I wasn't enough for you… that any minute we had spent together was just for you to have a laugh, but it's clear it wasn’t… So of course I forgive you Jude… only if you forgive me for shutting you out like I did…”

“You know my answer to that… You know I'll forgive you, but it was never my intention to make you feel like that okay baby? Remember that. You’re more than what I deserve, and every moment we spent I have it here. And I got every other thing that I need and want but you,” he took your hand and placed it over his heart, “I love you Y/n…” Jude confessed, swallowing his nervousness away. 

You started at him with wide eyes, searching for any signs that would say to back away but there was none because you felt it too. The love, the lust, the feeling of it, all of it, you felt. Your mom had said you’ll feel with the correct person, the feeling of being stable, knowing that the person you love would prove it to you every day for the rest of your life. That when you love, there’s absolute trust always. That love isn’t a fairytale, that it exists when you met your soulmate connection. Jude was your forever soulmate. 

“I love you Jude…” you said abruptly, your hand reaching over and tracing his cheek with the pad of your thumb. Now it was his turn to search for any signs, but he didn’t, because the soulmate connection was mutual. You loved him, the way he loved you. He reached over and slowly leaned down to your lips, not pushing the limit not knowing if you’d want it, but when you pulled his neck to yours, connecting your lips together, every cell in his body ignited. He was back where he desired. Back in your embrace where he felt secure, forgetting about anything when with you. 

His hands traveled to your waist and pulled you closer to him, stumbling a little but he made it work. His lips against yours caused an ache, a sensation of heaven in you. All you saw was a future with him. Jude’s tongue prominently teased your bottom lip, wanting to take it into his mouth, so he was quick to do so when you allowed him to. Savoring your sweet taste forever, a tainted memory to cherish. 

Your hands were tucked on his chest, often raking down to his abdomen. Jude pulled away, holding your face while tucking your hair back, “I've been wantin' you, so what you wanna do tonight? Make this the moment of your life,” Jude said, being down for anything. You kissed the tip of his nose, biting your lip, “I don't wanna hidе… Always been a good girl, but I have a bad side. Can I show you, baby? I'ma guarantee you won't forget…”

Jude was going crazy, his cock hardening under his boxers, the urge to take you right then and there. The innocence was gone from you, no more shy girl, and he wanted to know the bad side you proclaimed to have… to kiss every inch of your skin, the birthmark under your ear, the small painted moles of your chest and neck. “If you don't mind, you should try to stay the night. Because I'm willing to let you do anything you want, I'll let you make this the moment of your life…” you say, removing his shirt and tracing over his pecks, kissing his soft skin, watching as goosebumps appear, hearing him let out a grunt before diving back to kissing your lips. 

“Anything the birthday girl wants… she’ll get…”

August 20th features Coco with the prompt "Hey! Congrats on not being dead yet. Good for you on aging and not stopping" requested by the lovely @hatersaremymotivators As always my stories are 18+

You were sitting on your brother Angels couch watching TV when Coco slunk through the door giving you a nod of greeting before heading to the kitchen. Your heart beat picked up as you tracked his movements. You had had a crush on Coco for as long as you had known him. He never paid you more mind than that of his friends little sister. Honestly if Angel and hell EZ too had their way you would never date ever. They were both to in your business and many a date had been interrupted because of one or both of them.

You sighed as you flipped the TV channel. Being laid up on the couch with a broken leg was not how you thought you would spend your birthday. Every year lately you were sick or had some injury that dampened the day.

“You sure you don’t mind hanging back? Keeping an eye on her?” inquired Angel as Coco grabbed a beer from the fridge.

“Aint like she can run off. Easiest babysitting gig ever” shrugged Coco as he grinned at his friend. Angel rolled his eyes before shaking his head.  “Today’s her birthday right?” inquired Coco as he caught sight of the cake in the fridge.

“Yeah and “started Angel before Coco stepped back into the living room.

“Hey!” called Coco getting your attention from the door way. When you had turned to him he grinned. “Congrats on not being dead yet. Good for you on aging and not stopping. No matter how many times you disobey your brothers and crash a damn bike” he added laughing as you shook your head and flipped him off.

“Fuck you Coco” you called as you laughed on the couch. “A simple Happy Birthday would have been good” you added.

“I aint simple and I don’t think you’re up for this ride” called Coco with a laugh as he stepped back into the kitchen. His laughter stopped when he caught the look on Angels face. Playing back his words he nodded and stepped back into the living room where you were still processing his words. “I uhh meant watch your language. A lady should not curse” he stated before nodding and going back into the kitchen.

Angel stood leaning against the counter with his arms folded. Coco sipped his beer and looked anywhere but at Angel. The silence between the two was loud for a couple of minutes before he spoke. “My bad” muttered Coco as Angel stalked over to him.

“Against my better judgement. I’mma let you stay and watch her. I don’t trust anyone else. Do not sleep with my sister” growled Angel as Coco nodded before saluting him.

“I will not” stated Coco as Angel shoved past him out the door.

Week 39/52: September 23rd - September 29th 2024 | 28th Birthday 🎂

feeling blessed and happy this year for my birthday

woke up EARLY for shift... bf was waiting for me at studio with his gifts and KT's gifts <3 i love my friends

went to eat free lunch at homura bbq

dinner with parents at beijing hot pot (wanted to go to landmark but that place staff was so mean during parking so we just left lol)

MY Wish rewrite pt2:

Hai there! back again! Ok so. Without further ado, let's carry on with the show shall we?

I just want to clarify, Asha gets big sister vibes. Like Cinderella or Tiana or Mirabel, she's very supportive and emotionally available

Ok so y'know "At All Costs"? Upon first view, I interpreted it as a song between a parent and child since I refuse to see the alternative between king and 17 year old. SO we take that and I want to make something like a...leitmotif I think it's called?

At the beginning I want Magnifico and Amaya to sing a lullaby to lil Asha looking over their new kingdom. I want it to have like a leitmotif (similar melody) to at all costs. Obviously change the lyrics to something appropriate but keep the theme of 'promising to ALWAYS love someone' and the theme of 'at all costs' as well as 'protection' and have softer instrumentals

We could have something akin to "You'll be in my heart" from Tarzan or "Remember me" from Coco

Have Asha one day find out of the outside world through an old book and confront her parents who don't see the issue and shut her down

she hears them discussing that when they take her wish on her birthday, she'll be more docile and easier to bend to their will and be their perfect obedient daughter

Learning she's basically about to be stripped of free will runs into the woods and sings her song and wishes on a small star

(And of the love of cheese, give the songwriter more than 3 weeks! let them be able to adapt to the rest of the movie)

I saw this concept of when Aster descends they're in their plushie form then Asha accidentally plants a kiss on their cheek and BAM they suddenly turn into their mischevious shiny self I wanna keep that

I want a scene where Asha early on tries out pixie dust. She's wobbly, unconfident and flying everywhere like the start of her character arc.

this would mainly be based off that flying/dancing in space scene in Wall-E...only much more chaos and Asha is doesn't really trust Aster to this extent atm

Have Aster be able to rally a crowd in a heartbeat. He's so charismatic and enchanting he draws everyone's attention around him; they are virtually never quiet

He acts very confident and gets easily distracted, trying to turn everything into a game and kinda looks down on humans at first being easy to entertain and understand. After all he's watched them from afar for Centuries! this should be a piece of cake!

and at first it is but then Aster and Asha end up finding one of the friends/dwarves somehow. Doesn't have to be all of them, just 1 or 2 (hell it could even be Asha's 'grandpa' Sabino they're not related here though)

Asha gets the idea to help someone get their wish by themselves without Magnifico's help, it can be very simple like perhaps winning a small competition,

Eventually the person starts to doubt themselves and remembers something sad and Aster's magic starts to fade, he panics and tries to cheer the person up by telling to forget about these sad feelings, using jokes to make them laugh ect like Joy from Inside out but it doesn't work

Aster keeps panicking, the person's still sad and he starts to fade, Asha notices this and tries to comfort the person but not by ignoring their sadness but embracing it. Aster at first is annoyed but notices that when they talk their feelings out, the person does feel better and feels confused

Asha reminds the person of something, telling them to keep their chin up or something just being very patient and supportive and Aster marvels at this

for the first time in his appearance he's quiet at this. They thought that humans were simple creatures with greedy simple wishes without much complexity but witnessing this small connection has them reflect a little.

(we see our class clown start to fall for our sunshine girl)

The person regains hope and tries again, just when everyone including Aster thinks the person is going to lose, (except Asha, she believes) the person against all odds succeeds and our protagonists marvel at the posibillities of people achieving wishes without magical intervention but with just a little support

through Aster's magical shenanigans and a bit of carelessness, a barn in the forest is set on fire

this catches the attention of the royal couple since there hasn't been a dangerous incident like this in Rosas since its creation

the two witness this and Magnifico in particular is shaken

we witness flashbacks of how horrible the burning of his home lands were, we see the trauma and for the first time in decades, the king feels weak.

through Amaya's levelheadedness she puts out the fire, settles everyone down, tells everyone not to worry for there is nothing she and her king can't handle then pulls her husband aside to comfort him in private

we see her support him when he snaps and tells her they had to go back to the castle

they had been aware of the landing of the star but in their hubris, they tell themselves they'll worry about it later

at the castle the two fret over the safety of their kingdom and Magnifico admits he felt weak before his wife tells him then they needed to do something about that.

using their magic they create magic guards to scourge the kingdom and find these perpetrators and make the guards menacing and scary

something akin to the shadows of Dr Facilier or the evil spirits of Rasputin (from Anastacia not Ra-Ra-Rasputin), have some fun with the imagery

back with our protagonists, they camp in hiding, the person they helped included since they were spotted with them, its night and Asha is very worried

she knows how powerful her parents are and fears what will happen to them, especially Aster. So she stands guard for the night, telling everyone not to worry and rest while she stays on guard

it gets late and Aster still finds Asha awake, they worry about her and tell her to sleep that they will be safe

to help her rest, Aster and Asha share the names of the stars and constellations to each other, their human given names, their stories ect and Aster tells Asha of his parents, the two stars to the right, Raymond and Evangaline (I love this idea) Asha slowly falls asleep on his shoulder. She is lulled to sleep to the tune of a twinkling lullaby

then in the dream world, she finds...Aster? And they can talk?!

its like a more ethereal version of Rosas, where Asha's heart lies but more magical like the concept of fairy land or the fae

You see, in the mortal world, humans can't understand the tinkling language of Stars but in the world of dreams is where the humans and wishes are connected because: "A dream is a wish your heart makes" (it makes me squeal and cringe to make that reference)

Asha asks Aster about when he was all quiet and he mentions, he didn't really believe in humans at first and asks the princess what she sees in them, like she said they are all reliant, ignorant sheep who rely on her parents and seem happy so why go through all this trouble

she answers how everyone has potential and deserves a choice and humans are much more complex than he thinks, we see that fondness in her eyes and a twinkle of a fondness for her in his

then Aster asks Asha had she ever thought of what she wanted outside of the people of Rosas. Cause the wishes he's seen are mostly selfish or for one person's benefit and she confesses how sometimes she's so worked up about everyone's wants she feels selfish about desiring support and attention herself and Aster affirms to her that she is one of the most selfless, interesting humans he's ever seen and if anything she deserves all the love her parents get due to her willingness to comfort everyone, then we have a peaceful quiet moment (Aster most definetely blushes and looks away)

and to show her gaining confidence, give her a crown she'd been denied all her life

I want her to give the vibes and shock us like when we saw the live action 2015 cinderella dress. It doesn't have to be big and poofy but it has to be memorable and evoke that same magic

Aster gets down on one knee and swears to help Asha achieve her goals and protect her and Asha swears the same

Anyways after that whole dance sequence, Aster wakes up first, they smile at Asha still asleep and want to find a flower for her

they leave and go to find a perfect flower for their princess but out of no where get captured by the magic guards sent by magnifico

Asha and the friend hears the distressed jingles of Aster and go to help, the guards are scary as all hell and they have to hide

Show off Asha's wits, magical capabilities and bravery by having her come up with a plan, jump into action and use the magic she's never actually practiced and have Aster be amazed at how such a shy girl would jump into the line of fire to protect those she loves

the guards are forced to leave, our main duo make their escape and decide if they want to stand up to the tyranical rule, it was now or never since they've been spotted

the guard return to the palace with nothing in hand, the two are starting to lose their grip on sanity, their trauma and anxiety of this unforseen force could be their downfall and now there was a rogue magician helping the star?

NOW we have the villain song (and for god sakes disney use a MUSICAL songwriter not a pop songwriter for your MUSICAL ANIMATED MOVIE)

instead of a dumb solo by Magnifico about how he lets his citizens live for free and stuff, we get a moral conflict duet about the issue at hand

have the book call out to them, tempting them, and the other trying to snap them out of it but it fails

we could have something honoring Hellfire with that intense choir and the two convinced they're in the right, descending into madness

have intense colors, play with shadows and that temptation where they have to weigh the risk of this evil magic or sucumb to this new magic, keep the theme of protection

have them repeat to themselves, this is for the sake of the people, if they relinquish control, the kingdom will fall into chaos, the people NEED them ASHA needs them

have them bring up news of some magic shenaniganary, their people are questioning them and they say how their 'children' are misguided and their fragile minds need to be protected

use the leitmotif of At All Costs at one point maybe to highlight this deep devotion and love twisted into something dark and obsessive to commit to their duties by whatever means

Meanwhile Asha and Aster rally up the townsfolk, Asha takes the lead this time and use the friend as living proof they don't need someone else to dictate their desires, that there is more to life and it's so much more rewarding when you work hard for your achievements

we have a war song like in the movie, the people vs the royals, Aster gifts Asha a magic wand, so she can practice her magic

then we have an epic battle all of Rosas banning together in unique ways to get their wishes back but the villains this time have the upper hand

they discover Asha is working on their side and are shocked and betrayed, rage boils and bubbles in them at the traitor who've they've sheltered and raised for years

they tell her one more time to put an end to this nonsense, give them the magic impostor and they can all return to normal

Asha tells her parents no for the first time but then they use their magic to threaten the people of Rosas

Seeing Asha so distressed, Aster summons magic for a very powerful attack, Magnifico and Amaya do the same when Asha really notices everyone at a real risk of dying and even if one party wins, there will be many casualties

she tells them to stop and asks her parents, if she gives up this rebellion, if she gives her magic up altogether, will they leave the people and Aster alone? She offers up her wish for her people to be happy and safe

they agree, Aster is disapointed, tells her not to give in, think about the freedom she wants but Asha sees no other choice

Magifico says he'll leave Aster alone but just as Aster turns his back, he sends out one lethal shot which Asha sees and blocks with her own body

her parents are horrified, after all they did, after all they sacrificed to protect their little girl, eventually she was turned to stone by their own hands

Aster is distraught, he is in tears as he watches his princess slowly freeze into stone as she smiles and whispers to him

"I will protect you at all costs..."

In anguish, Magnifico sends out one more spell which Aster uses Asha's wand to deflect back to husband and wife

Idk how they die, maybe in a burst of sparkles, maybe turned into stone as well and pushed off the edge but personally my favorite disney villain deaths are the ones caused by the villain's own actions (think Clayton hanging himself in Tarzan), yea I want something like that

then the people all congregate and all wish for their princess who sacrificed everything for them to come back and through Aster's magic, she does!!

wooo yay!!

anywho, the day is saved and Asha fufills her wish to help others by becoming the fairy godmother because sometimes some wishes require a little push

but Aster must return to the sky and we get a bittersweet ending between our lovebirds

Aster wishing to inspire people and light their way, becomes the morningstar who rises before the sun

The kingdom of Rosas will always have a special place in Asha's heart but now she lets the people explore the world to learn for themselves what they want, let them work hard and stays to lead the remaining Rosas citizens to teach them of the outside world

she uses her parent's old office to practice magic and in the credits we see a sequence of the people she helps

and finally when she goes to sleep and appears in the dream world, we hear a familiar voice behind her and she smiles (like when Gwen approaches Miles at the end of into the spiderverse)

Ok woo! what a mouthful

I understand the idea of making the movie look like a digital painting and a 2d look and it looks decent enough but for a disney movie? A 100 year aniversary no less? It looks cheap. They specifically didn't use motion blurr but then it just looked like a Tv show and cheap

For my hypothetical Wish, do something stylistic that looks purposeful like Puss in Boots TLW rather than it just looking unrendered or hell take a page out of Klaus' book use 3D models and make it look 2D

Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination

Given the general theme and when this is coming out, you would expect more Wonka references, butit didn’t occur to me until just now. Oh well. Once again it’s time to take a trip to the movie theater to have a Precure adventure on the big screen. It’s another good one, and puts a different spin on the Precure movie exclusive upgrade that will set a precedent for films to come. So let’s dig in!

The Plot

The film starts with a brief skit by the fairies, in a more limited, puppet show-esque art style. It casts Syrup as a giant monster, with paper wings and seaweed eyebrows, attacking Milk before Coco and Nuts show up and transform into Precures to defeat him with giant mame daifuku and chou cremes. It’s very silly. After that they do a similar lesson as in the first film, introducing the Miracle Light 2 and explaining how to use it. Once again, when they warn not to swing it around in case you hit your neighbor, there’s an exaggerated detail shot of a battered fairy: Syrup and Nuts in this case. It’s so out there for Precure and makes me laugh.

After that, the movie kicks off properly. It’s Nozomi’s birthday and everyone is setting up for a party at Natts House while she sleeps. Coco gently wakes her, teases her for her sleeping habits, and then declares that she looked like Sleeping Beauty. Nozomi is enamored by this comparison and fantasizes a little bit about being awoken by a kiss. Coco teases her further by asking if he should have kissed her awake like in the story, causing Nozomi to become extremely flustered and deny this. Coco claims he was just kidding, so they go and join the birthday festivities.

As they’re about to cut the cake, an oven suddenly appears out of nowhere, and out of it comes a girl who introduces herself as Princess Chocola of the Sweets Kingdom. Coco and Nuts know her, and this makes Milk act jealous. Chocola is being chased by Bunbee, who turns Nozomi’s birthday cake into a Hoshiina to capture her, so the girls transform to fight. As usual, this is where you really see where the film budget is going, as the cures jump around and attack in duos with punches, kicks, and their special moves. At one point they topple the cake monster onto Bunbee, who teleports away, and they finish it off with Rainbow Rose Explosion. As thanks for their efforts, Chocola transports everyone to the Sweets Kingdom, which is a land where everything is made of candy or confections, and says she wants to take them to the castle. There’s a quick cut to the throne room in the castle, where Bunbee talks to the Queen and reveals he brought the Precures as requested and asks for payment, but he is chased out by the Queen’s two advisors, Dry and Bitter Amidst this, the Queen declares she’s going to eat the sweets of Precure.

Finally, about 20 minutes into the film, the opening theme plays over a montage of everyone trying out all kinds of sweets from all over the kingdom on their way to the castle, which is on top of a giant layer cake. There’s a brief scare when Karen points out that eating all these sweets will make them fat, but Princess Chocola assures them that Sweets Kingdom snacks don’t make you fat. Dry and Bitter show up to continue escorting the girls around the kingdom, while they instruct Chocola to take all the fairies to the castle. She seems uncomfortable, but does as she’s told. Dry and Bitter try to sow discord, acting disdainful for sweets and the enjoyment of them. At one point they criticize Nozomi for picking run-of-the-mill cream puffs to give to Coco instead of something more unique to this world, but she’s not bothered, and Rin also explains to them that Coco loves cream puffs so he will appreciate the sentiment. The two aides don’t really understand. Eventually, the obvious villains make their move: they lure the girls to different locations and then kidnap them, with the objective of turning them into sweets. Dry takes Rin and Karen to the freezer, intent on transforming them into ice cream. Bitter takes Urara and Komachi to the oven to become cookies.

While this is happening, Coco and Nuts are about to enter the castle’s throne room, but they can tell that Chocola is hiding something and they coax her to explain what’s happening. She almost speaks up, but before she can come clean, they’re all summoned into the Queen’s chamber. The throne room is dark and dilapidated, with rubble on the floor and huge bites taken out of all the pillars. Chocola is clearly scared of her mother, who quickly captures Nuts, Syrup, and Milk while implying that she’ll soon eat the Precure. Chocola runs away from the castle in tears, passing by a lonely Nozomi who is looking for her friends. Nozomi can’t ignore a crying girl (in her own words) and tries to find out why the princess is upset, but before she can get an answer, a masked person shows up to fight her.

“I’m not Coco, Coco doesn’t wear a mask!”

The audience will immediately realize that the enemy is Coco, but Nozomi doesn’t seem to recognize him. He declares that she is the last Precure and the others will soon be dead. The five girls, in their separate environments, transform into Precure. They put up good fights but are overpowered and begin to turn into sweets, with Cure Dream becoming chocolate. The fairies manage to free themselves and rush to save Dream and Coco, successfully separating Dream from her opponent. When they’re safe, Syrup accuses Chocola of betraying them, but all the nearby citizens defend her, with the justification that her sweets still taste good, so she can’t be a bad person. (This will be somewhat important later.) Mailpo also tells Syrup that Chocola helped free them all. The princess reveals to Cure Dream that a bad person called Mushiban is controlling her mother and she’s too scared to confront him. However, she does pull out her Miracle Light and restore Dream’s chocolate arm to normal. Dream encourages Chocola to be brave for the sake of her friends and family, and so they fly back to the castle to save the Queen. Dark Coco ambushes them mid-flight, so Dream takes him on while Chocola goes to rescue her mother.

Dream’s duel with Dark Coco is intercut with shots of her teammates having been completely converted to sweets, but as she espouses how much she wants to spend time with them and hang out and do normal friend things, her strong feelings reach her friends.

They manage to break free from their sugary prisons, quickly turning the tides on Dry and Bitter and defeating them. When Dream is almost completely turned to chocolate, Dark Coco tries to kiss her, mockingly, but she breaks his grip. He removes his visor and reveals his identity to Dream, who stops fighting back now that she knows who he is. She pivots to dodging and running from his attacks while calling his name, hoping to break through to him. Ultimately it’s revealed that he’s actually being puppeteered by Mushiban through a gem on his chest. Mushiban uses Coco’s latent power to summon a Black Fleuret and continues to attack. However, Dream is starting to get through to him, and the gem controlling him begins to crack. Dark Coco moves in for the final blow against Dream, but freezes as Coco fights for control of his body. Dream quickly moves in to kiss him, causing the controlling gem to completely shatter, and he falls to the ground, exhausted..At last fully awake and freed from the spell, he thanks Nozomi profusely for saving him..

Meanwhile, Chocola makes it to the throne room, where she runs into Kurumi and asks for  help taking down the bad person controlling her mother. A furious Mushiban leaves his hiding space behind the throne room, declaring his contempt for the values of courage, hope, and love that the Cures were going on about, just as Kurumi and Chocola arrive in the chamber. Chocola goes to save her mother while Kurumi transforms into Milky Rose and fights the villain. Their battle takes them all around the throne room, exchanging blows, breaking even more pillars, and threatening to bring the roof down. At several points Rose barely avoids Mushiban’s attacks. Chocola avoids the falling rubble and pleads to her mother, and the controlling gem in the Queen’s tiara begins to crack like Coco’s did. She talks about all the things she wants to learn from her mother, like tasty sweets, smiles, and love, and this seems to really get through to her.

Mushiban tries to step in to once again decry this nonsense, but Milky Rose chastises him for interrupting, and summons the Milky Mirror to perform Milky Rose Metal Blizzard. Mushiban gets buried in a pile of rubble and an exhausted Milky Rose reverts all the way back to Milk. At the same time, Chocola tells her mother she loves her, and the controlling stone crumbles, freeing the Queen. Mushiban isn’t down for the count yet, as he rises from the rubble and expresses his desire to eat delicious sweets while slowly moving towards the Queen. The other Precures all arrive to block his path, and the Queen explains that she has made him plenty of sweets, the reason he isn’t satisfied is because he has no heart. He doesn’t like this answer, so he begins powering up, intending to bring the entire Sweets Kingdom down.

The cake and the castle atop it are split down the middle, pierced by a giant tower twice as tall as the cake mountain. The sky outside turns dark and rubble falls on the land, endangering innocent bystanders. Queen Dessert creates a platform to transport the Cures to the top of the cake, and Chocola accompanies them. They meet Mushiban at the top of his tower, preparing to destroy the entire Land of Sweets. He declares that their battle will be a test of their ideals: his desire to devour everything against the love, courage, and hope of the Cures and the Queen and princess.

Then the fight begins. Mushiban has the upper hand, throwing the Cures around with a mix of chops, blocks, grabs, kicks, and light energy attacks, and mocking their so-called strength. He summons a huge ball of energy and directs it at the ground, causing it to expand out in every direction. Dream runs back to protect Chocola, so she takes the brunt of the attack while the others are knocked aside. Mushiban declares there’s no more hope, courage, or love left, but Chocola rejects this, insisting these values will never go away, and her Miracle Light glows. She calls upon the strength of her friendship with Nozomi, and asks everyone to give their power to Cure Dream. Power flows to the top of the tower, and on the ground Queen Dessert asks everyone to use their Miracle Lights and combine their strength. Everyone channels their energy and it flows into Dream as she stands up to Mushiban and smiles. The power upgrades her into an all white version of her Cure outfit and she grows angel wings, reintroducing herself as the miraculous light of blooming feelings, Shining Dream.

Angel wings are ALWAYS cool

Mushiban, still refuting her values, has ditched most of his armor and takes Shining Dream on in tight pants and a midriff-exposing tank top as he summons a beam sword. Shining Dream explains that sweets taste the best when shared with friends, and she wants to share all her feelings, good and bad, with her friends. She summons her own blade, the Starlight Fleuret, and flies around Mushiban, clashing blades with him as she explains that her powers blossom when she’s being cheered on. Shining Dream manages to break his guard and performs her special attack: Precure Starlight Solution. She becomes light itself, piercing Mushiban with dozens of beams before reassembling on the other side. Finally defeated, he begins to dissolve, and asks if it’s true that sweets taste better when shared. Nozomi affirms this, and he disappears into gold dust, smiling, having found peace too late. All the damage to the kingdom gradually fades away as the sky clears.

Later, the kingdom is having a birthday party for Nozomi. Chocola presents Nozomi with a new birthday cake, admitting she got some help from her mother. The queen thanks them all for saving the kingdom, and they all pop confetti cannons to finally wish Nozomi a happy birthday. She turns to face the camera and thanks everybody as the ending credits begin to play.

The ending credits have Chocola standing in front of the cake mountain, holding a flip notebook with pictures of the party. They collectively tell a rather funny story on their own:

Bunbee is seen standing alone in Eternal, looking forlorn and eating the cake that he stole. He also has animal ears for some reason.

Nozomi tries to kiss Coco again, in his fairy form, and he seems a bit reluctant. Syrup just looks annoyed in the background while Kurumi is really flipping out about this betrayal.

If you’re keeping track, that’s the third attempted kiss in this movie.

Nuts is seen dressed up in Dark Coco’s outfit, and he really does not seem to like it. Neither does Cocol. Komachi appears conflicted and Nozomi is living for it.

Urara is seen performing on a stage, while the crowd of people waves their miracle lights in unison.

The next slide is a reverse of this, showing all the main characters (Syrup, Komachi, Rin, Coco, Nozomi, Chocola, Nuts, Queen Dessert, Karen, and Kurumi) standing in front of the crowd watching Urara perform and waving their lights.

Next is a picture of Chocola fixing Nozomi’s animal ears, while Nuts looks sad, Karen and Komachi giggle at each other, and Kurumi has heart eyes for some reason.

Lastly is a picture of everyone, where all the girls are sitting in the front row and the boys and queen stand behind them. Chocola is hugging Nozomi and everyone is smiling for the camera. The real Chocola, holding the notebook, waves goodbye at the audience as the music comes to an end and the credits say “Owari” or “The End”.

Since the credits play over this during the movie, it can be hard to get a good view at the images in still form, but I took screenshots of each slide using the creditless version of the ending theme and uploaded them to the gallery for your enjoyment. 

The Analysis

The early years of Precure had a great run of films, and this is a proud continuation of that legacy. It’s outwardly kind of simple, thematically, but it pushes its message with such sincerity that you can’t help but be drawn in. It also has a really inspired alternate world, probably the best since Splash Star, and a fun original villain. For bonus points, there is 100% less gratuitous celebrity voice acting in this compared to the last two. The movie has a good setup, build up, payoff, and climax. It delivers memorable scenes, crafts loving character moments, and is a great story about family and friendship.

The friendship theme in this film plays out differently from prior movies..The FWPC era movies were about the two partners having a disagreement and later making up with each other, showing that the strength of their bond was their source of power. The first Precure 5 movie did the opposite, forcefully splitting up the girls and proving that their friendship was a source of strength even when they’re apart from each other. In this film, the girls are split up again, and there’s definitely an element of the strong-even-when-apart concept, but the message is more about how friends make everything more fun and enjoyable, and Nozomi gets the lion’s share of that. Yes, she’s the center of the team, and the main character of the series, but a whole bunch of Nozomi’s screentime involves her either spending time with her friends or espousing how much she wants to.

Like in the previous film, Dream is unique in that she doesn’t defeat her opponent by simply overpowering them physically and leaving them too weak to continue. Instead she is able to sympathize with them and resonate with their feelings. It’s not a perfect mirror to what she did with Dark Dream, since Coco is mind controlled and already an ally of hers, but the parallels are obvious, and that kindness and compassion is her greatest strength. Even Mushiban begins to admit this, in his final moments.

There’s also a secondary theme, as in the previous movie, about standing up against abuse and finding strength in different ways, which is visualized through Chocola’s relationships with Mushiban and Nozomi. Chocola goes through a great arc herself, starting out feeling helpless and desperate, and ultimately being willing to stand up to a powerful evil, thanks to the strength and courage that Nozomi inspired in her. 

That actually results in an interesting phenomenon. While Nozomi is the main character that the narrative follows, Chocola is more of the protagonist whose actions move the plot forward and who grows as a person. She’s the one who leads Bunbee to the Precures, and then takes them to the Land of Sweets. She brings everyone to the castle where they are then kidnapped by the villains. After Coco is possessed by Mushiban, she frees the other fairies and runs to Nozomi for help. She frees her mother from Mushiban’s control and enables Nozomi to become Shining Dream. Almost every major plot event is instigated by her, even if she’s doing Mushiban’s bidding, and Nozomi and co. are there to respond. Naturally, Nozomi still has an important role in the narrative as she confronts Dark Coco and comforts and inspires Chocola to take her steps against Mushiban in the first place and I’m not trying to downplay her accomplishments. Both of them are strong characters here and they complement each other well. Nozomi spends most of the movie just being really nice, wanting to get stuff to share with her friends. When the bad guys question this or say it’s useless, she shuts them down and emphasizes that people appreciate being thought about. It’s still friendship and love, as always, just a different angle on it and I think that’s a nice touch.

As far as antagonists go, Mushiban is the only one of note. Dry and Bitter just kind of exist to say and do bad things. They’re one-note as villains. They have no motivation of their own. They aren’t even named in the narrative, just the credits, and they only exist to save Mushiban’s reveal for the final act. Fortunately, Mushiban himself is more fleshed out. Even though he doesn’t appear on screen until the third act, he’s an active participant in the story from the beginning, since he’s controlling Queen Dessert, Dry, Bitter, and later Coco, and this allows the audience to get an impression of how powerful he is. His motivation is hilariously simple: he wants to finally actually experience the deliciousness that sweets can bring. The rub is that he’ll kill five girls in order to do it, which suddenly sounds a lot more dark. His absolute conviction to this goal (and the excellent voice acting) keeps him threatening. I enjoyed him because he had a powerful presence throughout the film, starting from the disheveled state of the throne room and the Queen who clearly wasn’t herself, up to the climax where he’s engaged in a furious sword fight with Shining Dream. He never lets up until the very end, where he finally begins to accept the error of his ways.

The other characters in the film are, unfortunately, not given much to work with. The other Precures just kind of feel like they’re along for the ride, as they don’t contribute to the narrative beyond occasional lines about enjoying spending time together. Kurumi is absolutely shit upon, given almost nothing to do other than tagging along with the other fairies. She completely transforms during the opening battle against Bunbee. Near the climax she gives Chocola a pep talk when the princess has already committed to defying Mushiban, and Milky Rose fights him to keep him busy while Chocola frees her mother, but she uses up her energy and doesn’t even get to participate in the big final battle. It makes sense within the established rules about her powers, but I think it is a big middle finger from a writing standpoint. She had a whole arc in the show not so long ago about how she wants to be a part of the team AND also be a caretaker for Coco and Nuts. I wish the movie writer was privy to that. It’s also possible the movie was written before the producers of the series decided to introduce Milky Rose, and so she was a late addition to the script, which could explain her limited role, but that’s only my speculation.

The action scenes, thankfully, are generally top notch (there’s definitely some moments of lackluster though). They’re fast-paced and creative. In the early scene at Natts House, there’s a part where Lemonade grabs the Hoshiina with Prism Chain and then she, along with Dream and Aqua, swings it around and hurls it towards Bunbee, which really stands out to me as something they wouldn’t be able to do on TV. The battles in the Sweets Kingdom where the girls are being turned into sweets are intense. They’re pierced and attacked by weapons in a way that they probably couldn’t get away with in the show. Bitter uses ice needles to attack Rouge and Aqua, which are seem to sink into their skin and turn them into ice pops. Similarly, Dry flings flat-edged cards that seem to cut the skin. Both of these actions slide under the radar because there’s no blood, but it’s powerful imagery. Meanwhile, Dream’s fight with Dark Coco is full of powerful blows given a lot of emphasis mixed in with some beam attacks. The two jump all over the place, and Dream pulls off an impressive series of back handsprings to evade. When Dark Coco reveals his identity and summons his Dark Fleuret, Dream switches only to evading his attacks, except at the apex of their battle. Mushiban, through Coco, tries to strike Nozomi directly on her head with the sword, and she just sits there and lets him, because she has started to get through to him and she believes that Coco can’t bring himself to hurt her. They do a quick fakeout to make it look like blood has been shed, when it’s just juice, and again it’s the type of shot that I think would be too much for Sunday morning.

The climax, where the cures face off against Mushiban together, is short lived. They try and fail to land hits on him, and he throws everyone either on the ground or into each other, and then puts them all out of commission with a dark energy attack. It’s good action but sometimes hard to make out what’s happening. This makes way for the true pinnacle moment of the film: Nozomi’s transformation into Shining Dream, and her one-on-one battle with Mushiban. This is where you get some of the best animation in the film, with Shining Dream flying around and clashing swords with Mushiban.There’s a particular moment where she rotates in midair, striking Mushiban twice. As soon as he’s defeated, the lighting turns to a somber twilight appearance, as a nice touch.

The scene where Dream kisses Coco to wake him up is a direct callback to the beginning of the movie, where he teases her about doing the same thing and compares her to Sleeping Beauty. The parallel is obvious, Coco is asleep under a spell and the kiss of his true love lifts that curse. There’s a point in their battle where a mind controlled Coco tries to kiss Dream as well but it’s done mockingly and she slips out of his grasp. It’s also the first onscreen kiss in the entire Precure series, and I believe the only kiss between a main Cure and another character. This makes it all the more special. It does cement their relationship in a way we seldom see in Precure romances, even though they never outright say they love each other or mention this moment later. Despite the sometimes ambiguous way the rest of the series handles it, and Nozomi’s rejection earlier in the film, she loves Coco and cares emphatically about him. The kiss is brought up one last time during the ending montage, when Nozomi attempts to kiss fairy form Coco and he seems nervous, but that’s treated as a gag. (Side note: I am aware that their relationship is controversial to some within the fandom. Whatever your feelings on it, please respect the message of the film.)

Obviously, Shining Dream is our requisite movie super form, but unlike the ones in every other movie, it’s exclusive to Cure Dream, and this will unfortunately become a trend for the next few fall movies. Regardless of the snubbing of the other main characters, let’s go over the design.

It’s a slightly embellished version of Cure Dream’s normal outfit in all white, with pink trim, and her hair is pinker than before. The skirt has an extra layer, as do her sleeves, the cuffs on her boots and gloves now have feather patterns, her back bow has longer trails, the chest butterfly is larger, and she has a pink rose in the center instead of a gem brooch. Also, her hair loops are tied with small wings instead of ribbons. And, obviously, she has angel wings that she retracts half the time. It’s a fantastic design and exactly what I want from a Precure powerup form. White is a good color, as it represents purity and the combination of all other colors of light. Any color can be upgraded to white safely, and it really works here. The pink highlights keep her grounded to her base theme, and the embellishments in the form of more curves and ruffles, and the extra rose on her chest, bring it all together. The angel wings are the icing on the cake. Compared to the Butterfly forms from the last movie, it’s undeniably better, and it even uproots the Phoenix power forms from the Max Heart film as the bext upgrade form so far in this franchise. (thoughts on Cure Angel, Mugen Silhouette, Crescendo Form, and others will come when I get to them).

Regarding the setting, this film continues the trend of the Precure movies taking place in an alternate world such as the Land of Clocks, the Garden of Clouds, or Paris. The Land of Sweets, or Dessert Kingdom, is one of the more creative movie worlds the movies have come up with so far. I think it might be one of my favorites, bumping up with the Land of Toys from the Fresh Precure movie (we’ll get there). It’s got a fun and creative atmosphere, similar to the tasting room scene from Willy Wonka. There’s so much you can do with a world made and also full of food, which they take advantage of. I’m especially fond of the montage that plays during the opening song where you see a bunch of examples of edible stuff.

I criticized the last movie for cramming in celebrity voices, and for a rushed finale. One of those two problems is nonexistent here, thankfully. The climax is still a little quick but it’s appropriately built up to and so there isn’t the same sensation that the writers ran out of time or had to cut some scenes to make it fit. My only complaint is, again, that Kurumi doesn’t get to do much despite supposedly being a main member of the team. I believe the next film, All Stars DX, gives her some more to work with, but it’s a shame she couldn’t shine in her own series’ movie.

Miscellaneous observations

Mushiban’s name is a play on the word 虫歯 (mushiba) meaning tooth decay, which is what happens when you eat too many sweets and don’t care for your teeth. Brush and floss regularly, kids!

Dry and Bitter are somewhat unusual. As I mentioned above, they’re not actually named in the dialog, and pretty much no information is given about them throughout the movie. They aren’t explicitly shown to be controlled by Mushiban, but they have gems on their chests for most of the movie that are gone when they reappear during the epilogue. Since nobody calls them out for their earlier actions, it can only be assumed they were also under Mushiban’s control like Coco and the Queen. Furthermore, they don’t have animal ears in their first appearance, but they do when they meet the girls. After kidnapping Rin, Urara, Komachi, and Karen, they reveal that they’re just headbands and throw them away. However, during their small appearance in the epilogue, they have animal ears once more. Are they fake? Are everyone’s animal ears fake? They had no problem conjuring up enough for all the main cast to wear during the credits montage. Also, Mushiban never has any. There’s a chance that the royal family are the only ones that actually have real animal ears and all the other residents are pretending. It opens up an unusual can of worms. There’s a chance it’s explained in some interview or series book I haven’t read, but maybe it’s truly a mystery.

The movie was released on November 8, Nozomi’s actual birthday.

Coco and Nuts transform into faux-precures in the prologue, calling themselves Cure Coconuts and wearing the outfits of Dream and Mint respectively. Everyone has a thick outline in this sequence for some reason. This is the first ever semi-canonical instance of male Precures. In 2023, the series would finally introduce a legitimate boy Precure in Cure Wing. And it all started here.

Also in the opening sequence, in the transition between the skit about Syrup being a monster, and the actual explanation of the miracle lights, a series of stagehands usher Syrup offstage. Their faces are not seen, but they’re clearly meant to be the five girls. It’s a detail that goes by quickly, to the point I missed it on my first several viewings of the film, so a great easter egg.

If you’re not familiar with Miracle Lights, here’s my writeup on those from the last movie explaining what they are and how they’re used.

Among other notable names, Yoshihiko Umakoshi was a key animator on this film, and in particular is believed to be responsible for animating the fight between Cure Lemonade and Mint and Bitter, as well as the climactic fight between Shining Dream and Mushiban. Umakoshi is a high profile animator and character designer, who is most famous in Precure for his work on the distinctive character designs and animation for Heartcatch Precure. Prior to Precure he spearheaded the Ojamajo Doremi series. He also worked on Casshern Sins and Saint Seiya Omega, and currently is the animation director for My Hero Academia.

Kurumi gets very annoyed and possessive when Chocola gets close to Coco, even though she’s markedly younger than him.

Bunbee’s presence in this film is the first time a TV antagonist has featured in a movie, since they normally feature original villains. Some will appear in future films, but it’s still rare.

During the fall down the purin mountains, Karen is blushing and holding her skirt down as if she’s afraid she’s going to flash someone. Although several of the others are wearing dresses, none of them seem bothered by the risk of exposure, and of course nothing ultimately happens because it’s not that kind of movie. It’s an odd detail to include at all, when everyone always has magic skirts.

Our original voice cast are:

Doi Mika as Queen Dessert. She’s known for playing Queen Serenity in Sailor Moon, Hayase Misa in Macross, and Takani Megumi in Rurouni Kenshin. She previously played Saki’s mother Hyuuga Saori in Splash Star.

Kawata Takeo as Princess Chocola.She played a one-off character named Nozomi in Max Heart, Princess Filia in Splash Star, and later plays Chypre in Heartcatch. She reprises the role of Chocola in DX3.

Otsuka Akio as Mushiban. He’s a veteran voice actor with a long career, famous for his deep voice. Popular roles include Kyoryaku Shunsui in Bleach, Batou in the Ghost in the Shell franchise, and All For One in My Hero Academia. He’s also the voice of Snake in the Metal Gear game series. Mushiban is the only character he has ever played in Precure, and he will reprise the role in All Stars DX3.

Ishida Akira as Dry. He’s known for playing Kaworu in Evangelion, Gaara in Naruto, and Kotaro in Gintama. He also played Cologne in Heartcatch.

Matsukaze Masaya as Bitter. Known for playing MegaBlue in Megaranger and Otori Kyoya in Ouran High School Host Club, he has no other Precure roles

Conclusion

This was another great Precure film. It has a few new ideas to try out, and it executes them well. It pushes the envelope somewhat in terms of what it’s willing to show the audience, and it caps off a great film about family and love. It stumbles in some spots, and a few supporting characters needed more to do, but it’s still a worthwhile experience and a great capstone to the pre-All Stars era.

Guys! My heart! Yesterday evening something happened that I didn't expect AT ALL!

So it was my cousins birthday. No biggie. Just another small family get together at my aunts. Some cake, some really good dinner, boring chit chat. You name it.

And, of course, eventually, I sat ... and sat ... and got bored. So I took out my Ipad and started drawing Coco stuff, when all of the sudden I hear my Dad go in a whisper to my great cousin (She's almost 7, mind you) "Uh oh ... don't let Julie hear that!"

Too late! Sweet familiar melodies I've engraved in my heart reach my ears and I'm immersed in the movie I love more than anything! I hear Héctor talk to Miguel and that's it. I Turn my head, the child giggles and grins and boom, I scuttle closer next to her and before we know it, we are BOTH deeply in the movie. Dad shakes his head grinning, Mom beams from ear to ear as my great cousin showers me with a huricane of questions and facts.

"Did you know Ernesto's guitar is actually Héctor's"?

"Yes, sweety! I know 😂"

"Why is Imelda angry at Héctor?"

"Because she was very sad when he didn't come back."

My great cousin loudly - "But he wanted to come back!! Ernesto kept him from going!"

Me - 🫠 "Yes, sweety! I know!!" 💪😭 *so proud!!*

And she literally proceeded to ask me questions and I answered them all! Why do alebrijes look so colorful? Why does Pepita turn back into a cat? Why does Miguel turn a skeleton? Why did Ernesto snap?

She also wanted to know my top 3 and DUH, did I say, Héctor, Imelda, Ernesto! Héctor being nr 1. And she agress but says, "Héctor, Miguel, Ernesto!" And I'm just 🥹💘 (She said, Ernesto folks!! She's a clever one! She doesn't put the "Villain" stamp on him but understands (as far as child can at that age) that something went wrong with him. One day, when she's old enough, she'll get to read my book! That's for sure!

And further more, speaking of Héctor's guitar, her Dad comes around singing un poco loco and asks, "Why can't you play her un poco loco?"

Me - "Because I've only been playing for 10 months? I'm not that good yet! 🥲"

He - "Well then learn faster!" 😂

Me - 🥲 "I wish I could! Believe me ... it's not that easy!"

And great cousin asks when I will finish Héctor's guitar. OF COURSE, Dad had to tell her what I'm up to!

Me - "Soon, I hope!"

Fast forward, un poco loco comes on, we sing! My aunt comes, hears and you can see the sneer in her face 🤣 but I already have the multitude on my side! So we settle in an agreement to turn the music down slightly!

And then Imelda comes and sings, and my great cousin goes "Imelda sings sooooo good!"

And I 🥰 "Oh yes she does!"

We keep watching the movie, kid keeps asking stuff, I answer and feel like the greatest nerd ever 😆🤓 The movie ends, we clapp and cheer, and kid proceeds to ask me to draw the characters. I show her my works and she's in awe! "Wow! You can draw them like in the movie!" And I'm 🤧❤️‍🔥 (you guys know kids are darn honest, no?) It went down like oil! I felt SO good! 🤣

Anyway, we drew a little, had dinner and then she fell asleep.

Will I continue to turn my family into Coco-fans? Heck yes!
