8 (Non Anime) TV Shows I Love

(In no particular order - The fact that I love them doesn’t mean that I like all the seasons 😅)

~ The Simpsons 🍩 (1989- …) / What can I say? Iconic. It’s a classic.

~ Supernatural 👻 (2005-2020) / I love so many characters in this show, it made me laugh and cry, some episodes and seasons are amazing and I love Dean with my whole heart. And Bobby and Crowley!

~ Once Upon A Time 👑 (2011-2018) / The first three seasons and the Musical Episode are 💫💫💫 I love Hook, but also Peter Pan, Zelena, Pinocchio, Rumple, Mulan and Regina.

~ How I Met Your Mother ✋🏻 (2005-2014) / It’s so fun, even though it can be painful sometimes. I think it really describes my generation.

~ Friends ☕️ (1994-2004) / I watched it only a few years ago, but i immediately found it so comforting! Chandler and Joey are my favorite characters! They’re lovely!

~ Top Gear 🚗 (presented by Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson; 2002-2015) / I love the specials and it’s so fun. Some scenes had me rotfl.

~ I Medici ⚜️(2016-2019) / The second season got me in a chokehold. Francesco is such an interesting character and his chemistry with Lorenzo…!

~ Cobra Kai 🐍 (2018-…) / The soundtrack! I love Johnny’s POV, and i’m also fond of Chozen. It’s nostalgic and funny, and some scenes and characters make me laugh so hard. But some others like 2x06 Take a Right (the one with the old Cobra Kai members) and 5x06 Ouroboros (the one with John Kreese during therapy) were also moving.

8 Anime Tv Shows I Love

(Again in no particular order and in some cases i don’t like all seasons)

~ Shingeki no Kyojin 🗝 / The obsession was real. The plot is dramatic and some characters are so good. My fave characters are Eren, Levi, Jean, Reiner and Zeke. And the soundtrack, amazing!

~ Boku no Hero Academia 🏫 / There’s plenty of characters I love, some soundtracks are so good and the chemistry between some characters is on point. And Shōto!! ♥️

~ Violet Evergarden 🦾 / This is so poetic and the animation is beautiful, it amazed me.

~ Free! Iwatobi Swim Club 🌊 / I’m a swimmer so I’m biased. 😅 I love the animation and the characters, this show is really comforting to me. And I empathize with some characters so much.

~ Dragonball 🐉 / It’s a classic and VegeBul was my first ship.

~ One Piece 🏴‍☠️ / Iconic, I’ve grown up with it. Corazón and Ace are so precious to me.

~ Nana 🍓 / Nana (Osaki) is such a great character!

~ Naruto 🦊 / Itachi will always be one of my fave anime characters and the backstories of some characters are so moving.

“Anyone can be seduced by Cobra Kai. Anyone can be attracted to Cobra Kai. Anyone can want Cobra Kai to press them down into the mats and have their way with them. Anyone can get their heart broken by Cobra Kai. Anyone can be deceived and betrayed and hurt by Cobra Kai but still lie awake at night 3 decades later aching for Cobra Kai and the way Cobra Kai looked at them like they wanted to possess them body mind and soul. It can happen to anyone. Even me.”

No but. Real talk.

I really think it’s Cobra Kai’s responsibility to establish to viewers (who forgot or who haven’t watched KK3) that Daniel didn’t just “join” Cobra Kai because he was “seduced” by it and what it represented. This is how it was presented in 2x06 when Daniel spoke to his students about it (see gif; And sorry I don’t have enough faith in the writing to pretend they’re being clever in the scene above i.e. that Daniel is internalizing blame and presenting the story as if it’s his fault because he believes it’s his fault.) So I expect the story to be revisited and Daniel allowed to present it more fully and honestly: 

He started training with Terry because he was deceived. Terry was falsely kind and supportive and full of praise for Daniel. He promised Daniel that his new Cobra Kai was not the same Cobra Kai that Daniel knew (Kreese’s CK) and that in fact Cobra Kai is originally not like that at all. Oh. AND they should also touch on the very important fact that Miyagi refused to help Daniel despite Daniel beseeching him more than once, because Daniel and their business (that he poured all his savings into! but that’s not what was at stake for him, it was Miyagi’s dream that he wanted to protect) were literally being assaulted and endangered. Those are the reasons Daniel joined. He was deceived and felt abandoned and desperate. That’s not seduction. Yes, once Daniel joined he saw what Terry was really about and he could have left at that point, but Daniel stayed because by that point Terry had his claws in him/his mind. Yeah, that part was more seduction, but not in the way Cobra Kai meant (in the gif/scene above). 

My fear is that Cobra Kai will ignore all of that [gestures above] to just once more present Daniel as someone who brings and has brought his own misfortunes onto himself. So yeah. I just want the show to establish that it was so much more than Daniel having “Cobra Kai in him” all along and being drawn to CK/Terry’s power/darkness or whatever. Will they tho? Almost certainly not! 🤣🤡

It's me again with another couple question, if you don't mind!!!!! I just wanted to ask - do you think Daniel should've had a scene with the OG Cobras? Like obviously Johnny was his chief tormentor, but the others were involved too, and while 2x06 was obviously focused onthe OG Cobras and it wouldn't have made sense to bring Daniel into it then, do you think that he ought to have met up with Jimmy and Bobby in any later episodes? Or does it actually fit into the narrative, that the others moved on with their lives and don't want to keeping going over the past? I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this.

I love any scenes with the OG Cobras, especially Bobby. (Oh Bobby Brown, my beloved). But I think any scene with Daniel and Bobby and Jimmy would probably play similar to Daniel meeting Mike Barnes again.

I can see both Jimmy and Bobby quickly offering a sincere apology, but like Mike, they hadn't sought Daniel out earlier because it's a let-sleeping-dogs-lie situation. Both Bobby and Jimmy have completely moved on from Cobra Kai and moved on with their lives. They've both worked through their karate trauma in a way that Johnny hasn't. (which is why they haven't been sucked back into the drama).

Mike also pointed out that he'd been wanting to apologise for years, but refrained in case it was traumatic for Daniel to revisit it. I can see that playing a role in Bobby and Jimmy not seeking Daniel out as well. But if they run into him, I can see a quickly offered apology.

Unless the OG Cobras are going to be used for another part of the story, it would be too much of a rehash of the mike barnes meeting to bring them back just to apologise to Daniel.

And I would also wonder how much Daniel needs it. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice and affirming for him. But he also has no resentment or lingering bad feelings towards them, and he's never mentioned them or had a flashback to them. If there is no narrative need on Daniel's end, (and one hasn't been set up so far), then it's unlikely that the show will visit it.

I think an apology from Johnny would be so much more meaningful, but they have also come a long way and have quite a strong friendship without one so...

Dutch is still in prison, so I don't see how he and Daniel would interact. Also without seeing him in CK, it's hard to gauge what dutch's feelings would be. (Though arguably he was the worst affected by Kreese's philosophy if he's doing 10-20 for repeated assault).
