Just saw @pillowspace’s absolutely stunning loop/sasasafrin design for their new co-op au and just??? Look at them??? Oh I *adore* them and the entire au so much!

Wanted to try my hand at the design! Idk if they wear pants under the cloak, so you get to see my mess of an attempted airbrush, but I had so much fun with this!

(Unreality:) Hey, has anyone here ever played that co-op game In Stars and Prologue? I need some help. My partner recently got a bug in which they've been stuck on the third floor and neither of us know how to get rid of it. I also think this game wasn't really built well for co-op because the rest of the party seems to only be able to process one Siffrin at a time, even when it's really obvious there's two? Which? Is weird because it's a two player game, why didn't the developer bother to account for two Siffrins???

@livesworthlivingau Was inspired by me starting on Sifstem, and we've been brothers in arms as far as isat aus go! It's really good! Read it! Also they have a discord where sifstem has a channel. lol. lmao.

@chimerical-daydreams with the "It Never Happens" AU Is really good! Not fanfiction but it's nice! Also my new partner so I'm NOT BIASED AT ALL <3.

@pillowspace Both their art and AU ideas are AMAZING And I love seen her stuff! My personal faves are the co-op isat au, and the Audience of Vaugarde au. They're both VERY VERY GOOD!! And honestly all their art is good, just go follow already!!

@traumaboyexo who, while I haven't been keeping up with as much, is the one who started the Carrion AU! I've been writing some fanfics for it and need to continue that. So go check out their stuff!!

ODILE, internally: Ugh. Who's being so noisy? It was easy to ignore a moment ago, but I might get a headache if this room gets any louder. What--? / ... / Siffrin sounds... aggressive. Like they're fighting with someone. / Someone?

I know where Isabeau is. I know where Mirabelle is. I know where Boniface is. / No one else should be in this room, or even in the House for that matter.

So why does everything feel so... muddy when I try to focus on...

...? Wait. No. Siffrin wasn't... No, Siffrin WAS always standing there, but I didn't acknowledge that previously. Why?

ODILE, verbally: Siffrin, who are you talking to?

Obsessed with your ISAT Co-op AU. But I especially love how since the Siffrins can see the 1P and 2P that means they can both see the giant "LOSER" sign above Failed Star SAAPfrin's head which is so funny to me

I saw this ask at 4am, i'm so sleepy, i'm going to bed. Their arguments are not this ridiculous but you must permit me to be silly at 4am ty goodnight

The House has the prologue's wine! And since SAAPfrin and ISATfrin are both a split of the "original Siffrin" for co-op... You could say that some aspects go to one Siffrin that the other might lose

curious- when saapfrin becomes the loser, does the party register that they suddenly drastically changed appearance mid conversation, or do they always percieve an outfit as regulsr?

They would definitely notice how SAAPfrin looks, wwwhich is why SAAPfrin stays behind at the Favor Tree, because they don't WANT to be seen like this. It already feels painful enough to have ISATfrin see. And what does it matter if they stay behind? ISATfrin is better at figuring things out than them anyway (<- they're tooootally not bitter about that by now)

SAAPfrin, at the Favor Tree: I'd ask how I can help you but I think you're doing juuust fine on your own

ISATfrin: Is that what you think? ... I wouldn't want your help anyway

And then they separate for the rest of the day feeling frustrated at each other but also so lonely because they were used to entering the House together

I imagine the whole co-op universe thing being viewed as a game - and that being visible to both siffrins - will be GREAT for their psyches

hhey do you also wonder how saapfrin feels seeing the number 1 over isatfrin's head while the number 2 is over their own, especially when saapfrin's supposed to be just as much as the original as isatfrin is

Uhm question about your co op au-

Do saapfrin and isatfrin act very differently? Like does saapfrin act more like loop while isatfrin acts more like, well, isat siffrin? Or do they still both act like siffrin, just splitting his traits between them or something like that?

In short: their personalities start the exact same, they grow different, but not on a scale as large as canon Siffrin and Loop.

Late into the AU, SAAPfrin becomes a lot more Loop-like since a lot of what being "Loop-like" means is... trauma. But not entirely like Loop though, since SAAPfrin hasn't had to learn the art of utter dishonesty to ISATfrin and they never really lost their own party. They're still half Siffrin-like, more so a Siffrin with Loop qualities if you understand. Later on, they'll still give those little teehees and disgusted looks, but they never formed the habit of shaping their every negative thought behind acting especially pleasant. Not... much more than the average Siffrin would anyway

As for early in the AU though (them figuring out the House), the Siffrins are largely similar but SAAPfrin is a bit more playful than ISATfrin is. (Not to say that ISATfrin isn't! Just that SAAPfrin is more so). Why? Because I want that <3 and thus because SAAPfrin wants to lean into that trait to keep the atmosphere with ISATfrin more welcoming. It's a bit hard to work with each other if you're both trying to be the "quiet listener." Then, like Loop, a habit forms. It's not much, but a single seed has been planted in separating them that will grow more with time

honestly the co-op isat au would be such a cool concept for a game even removed from isat. like instead of the fact that there are two of the main character just being a game mechanic that doesn't mean anything for the story like it is in a lot of games, it's actually acknowledged and an important part of the story

I am once again reminded of how badly I want to make video games but don't have the means to. I would be so powerful. My heart longs to make a video game
