Homebrew Horror: The Unnamed
The world hosts all manner of boogeymen and ghost stories, many of which are based on very real entities that prank or prey upon mankind when the sun sets and the lights go out, but few enjoy the obscurity and success of the Thing with No Name. There is perhaps a handful of people in all the world who can claim to have witnessed the nameless horror hunt its prey, and fewer still who are telling the truth about it, as to speak of it to another is to invite it into your life.
The scant scratches of concrete information that can be pieced together all paint a similar picture: It is predator that has haunted thinking beings as far back in history as anyone can look, its methods of hunting and its means of killing leaving precious little evidence behind. What it truly is, where it came from, and why it hunts the way it does are all mysteries which cannot be solved. Rare and esoteric writings which tell of it list numerous titles, all unhelpful; The Thing with No Name, the Stain on the Page (or simply "the Stain"), the Nameless Legend, and simply the Unnamed. It is written that such ambiguous titles are to protect the reader, not the creature, for attempting to affix any more descriptive title to it is the surest way to invite its horrific attention.
The Unnamed is one of several self-keeping secrets in creation, hunting down and annihilating any creature which knows too many details or who becomes too curious of it, for reasons which may never be truly known. For those it hunts, it seems like a nightmare made terribly real in a way few other creatures can match; an unstoppable, inescapable force which will use seemingly any trick to disorient, mislead, and ultimately capture its victim.
Anyone targeted by the Stain can always feel when it's near, and rarely do they ever manage to find help before they're simply never seen again. Witnesses to the scenes rarely speak, and never coherently, never to say what they saw, lest it target them next. Even in scenes where a tremendous struggle obviously took place, investigators struggle to turn up so much as a single drop of blood or scrap of hair of the victim... but sometimes they find something else. A misshapen footprint, a handprint caused by something deeply inhuman, or some strange fluid almost but not quite like blood that causes the mind to reel with a single touch.
Not enough to solve a mystery, just enough to make one curious. Just enough to make one try and wipe away a stain of ink on some dusty old report tucked away in the back of an archive to see what could have been written underneath.

It goes Unseen as long as it is able to, tormenting them with its spell-like abilities to haunt them, destroy or remove light sources, weapons, and escape routes, and make it seem as though it is coming from everywhere at once. It will attempt to hit them with one or several of its bone darts to infuse them with its poison and terrorize them with the hallucinations, but it will try to avoid killing them with its darts (including by making them nonlethal). It will further toy with them with its tentacle attacks from a distance, making them think their hallucinations are real, until eventually wearing them down and closing in to finish them off and consume them. Against a large group of victims, it will attempt to isolate and pick them off one by one after loosening their reasoning with its poisonous aura, stolen voices, and Eyebite. When the mood strikes, it leaves one survivor (never its Target) alive but traumatized and possibly insane, usually using its Modify Memory to erase the majority of the encounter. But never all of it.
Morale: If a group of creatures has no Target among them, the Unnamed will fight only long enough to potentially traumatize one into becoming a Target later, and then flee to let the memories fester. When in a combat involving its Target, the Unnamed will always attempt to kill them, even if its own life is in danger. If its foes prove to be beyond its power, it will still attempt a death or glory attack against its Target. Its own life doesn't matter. It will come back eventually. ------ Special Abilities ------
Unbound (Ex): The Unnamed will not be denied its happiness. It may make an additional saving throw at the end of each of its turns to remove any effect causing any of the following conditions, even if the effect causing the condition does not normally permit a saving throw: blind, confused, dazed, deafened, exhausted, fatigued, nauseated, sickened, slowed, staggered, and stunned. This does not require an action. If it is affected by multiple effects or conditions, it may only make one additional saving throw with this ability each turn.
Uncanny (Ex): The Unnamed can use its Change Shape ability as a full-round action to change into any creature it has ever consumed, but its shape is grotesquely twisted to the point it could not possibly be mistaken for a normal creature. It does not gain any additional abilities or attacks, the changes are purely cosmetic. Similarly, though it can speak any language, its voice is completely inhuman and distorted. Creatures under the effects of its poison (see Unwind, below) or who are confused or insane instead see and hear it as if the transformation was flawless. This effect is lost if they are adjacent to it.
Undone (Su): If the Unnamed reduces a Target to 0 HP or lower with its attacks while the Target is both within its reach and suffering from the effects of its poison (see Unwound, below), the Target's body crumbles to a fine dust the Unnamed may inhale as an immediate action or at any point within the next minute as a swift action. When it does so, it regains 4d8+15 hitpoints and may immediately end one condition or effect on itself.
Unknown (Su): Whenever a creature attempts to give a more descriptive title or a name to the Unnamed, or attempts to describe or dictate its appearance or abilities in detail to another being, they must attempt a DC 19 Will save. Success indicates that they stop themselves from going through with the attempt as a brief sense of dread washes over them. Failure allows them to fully convey the information, but they become a Target. When creature becomes a Target, they are shaken automatically for one round by the sense that they have committed some unfathomable wrong. What "naming/describing the Unnamed" entails will vary at the DMs discretion; it could be as simple as writing details into a document meant to be read by another, speak the details aloud to another, or drawing it a little too clearly, but it must be a willing, conscious attempt to define or describe the Unnamed to another intelligent creature. Creatures defining or describing the Unnamed only for themselves may still become Targets, at the DMs discretion (it often allows these creatures to write just enough to make a potential reader curious, but no more). The Unnamed knows the precise location of all Targets not shielded by divine power, as well as the distance and direction to them relative to itself. Targets become permanently shaken whenever the Unnamed is within 1 mile of them as a feeling of impending doom creeps into their minds, and if it is within 100ft, this condition pierces all forms of immunity to fear. All parts of this ability work across all boundaries and through any barrier.
Unseen (Sp/Su): When not being observed by an intelligent creature, the Unnamed may become invisible as a standard action, as per Greater Invisibility, except the effect lasts until an intelligent creature successfully sees the Unnamed through any means (such as if it's outlined through Glitterdust or mundane dust, or viewed through True Seeing), until any creature ends its turn adjacent to the Unnamed (or vice-versa), or until the Unnamed ends the effect itself as an immediate or free action. It can only use its spell-like abilities while invisible using this ability.
Unwind (Ex): The Unnamed produces a powerful, hallucinogenic poison which it delivers with its bite and dart attacks. It may also produce a colorless, odorless version of the poison as an aura with a 30ft radius, affecting all creatures which inhale it, though they gain a +5 circumstance bonus to the save. It may begin producing this aura version of its poison as a full-round action and stop as a move action; its bite and dart attacks do not poison their targets while it's producing the aura, and it can only maintain the aura for a total of 7 rounds a day (they do not have to be consecutive).
--Unwinding Venom: Bite, dart, or aura--injury, contact, or inhaled; save Fort DC 24, frequency 1/round for 5 rounds, effect 1d3 Wis damage plus hallucinations for 1 round (all other creatures have 20% concealment), cure 2 consecutive saves.

[The last of the variant sprite lineages from PF 2e's Bestiary 3, and I think the cutest. A little redundant, with faerie dragons (or fey dragonets, I guess) already existing, but when has redundancy ever gotten in the way of monster designers?]
Draxie CR 3 CG Fey This little humanoid is barely a foot tall, with a scaly hide, a long tail and membranous wings. They have small sharp teeth and horns and frills of skin instead of hair.
Draxies, or dragon sprites, are playful, flighty and keen pranksters. They often engage in escalating prank wars with pixies and fairie dragons, both of whom they get along well with. Draxies can be patient when planning some manner of joke or trick, and may spend months or even years for the payoff for a perfect joke. Draxies claim to have their origins in the powerful faerie dragon Elucredrassa, who upon her death reincarnated into a hundred draxies, who spread throughout the First World and then to the Material Plane. Draxies still honor her with the elucera, a soul-bond a draxie might make with a creature or creatures they are particularly fond of. Entering an elucera with a draxie makes one that draxie’s family as much as any blood relative; draxies take their obligations to elucera-mates more seriously than anything else.
Draxies rarely start fights, but are happy to finish them. A draxie is much more skilled at annoying an enemy into fleeing or parleying then they are with direct violence; their first order of business when attacked is usually to breathe draxie dust on an opponent. Unlike the breath of a faerie dragon, which induces a sort of stoned euphoria, draxie breath can cause this along with several other mind-influencing abilities. Even a draxie doesn’t know what its breath will do at any given moment, and they have great fun adapting to the situation as it elapses. If a draxie wants to do permanent harm, it usually relies on its mind thrust spell-like ability.
Draxies come in a wide variety of colors, and most of them have multicolored fringes running along their heads in place of hair, along their backs and on the tips of their tails. Their nails are usually worn long but are too fragile to be used as claws. Their jaws, however, are remarkably powerful for their size. Draxies are omnivorous with a taste for fruit and insects.

Special Abilities Draxie Dust (Su) As a standard action once every 1d4 rounds, a draxie can breathe magical dust in a 15 foot cone. All creatures in the area must succeed a DC 15 Will save or suffer from one of the following random effects (roll 1d4): 1. charmed (as per charm monster) for 1 minute 2. asleep (as per the sleep spell, no HD limit) for 1 minute 3. loses the last 5 minutes of memory 4. sickened, staggered and immune to fear effects for 1 minute This is a mind influencing enchantment effect, and the save DC is Charisma based. A draxie can use this ability once every 1d6 rounds, but a creature cannot be suffering from more than one draxie dust effect at a time. Natural Guise (Ex) When a draxie uses disguise self, it can appear as any Tiny creature with the fey or animal types. Touch Telepathy (Su) A draxie can telepathically communicate with any creature it is in physical contact with, regardless of whether they share a spoken language.

Background: GeminiTay also known as Gem is a gentle, kind and nature-loving member of the inhabitants of the far land known for his Hermits. She has a passion for nature, hence her constructions are often green and full of animals. Gem was decorating her house and garden like any other day waiting for an eventual prank of the other Hermits (which she likes); suddenly she heard a voice calling upon her: “Your friends are in danger.” She stopped. “Who? Impulse, is that you?” No one was around, she searched all the surrounding area but no one was found. “Young girl, your friends are in danger, you can save them but to reach them you are going to need my help.” Gem was stunned “In danger?! Impulse! Pearl! Grian! Mumbo! Scar! ……!” She kept yelling their names as she was rushing toward their homes. No one answered. She went to the various farms and structures… No one was there. She was ALONE. “Oh, dear! where are the others?! What have you done?” She shouted. “I did nothing, some were tricked, some accepted a mission, some answered a greater call. I offer the latter. Help me so i can save your friends.” Gem was skeptical but the alternative was being TRULY alone knowing that the others were god knows where. “Ok, but you need to explain…!” She couldn’t finish the sentence as the world changed around her and she was on her trusty skeletal horse equipped with new items close to a village under attack from a group of Illagers. “First, extinguish the flames of conquest. Then come find me. I will wait where the land is truly green.” Gem looked at the village in flames and the vandals hitting the doors with axes. “And they say women thinks too much…!” And she spurred her horse nocking in the first arrow.

Ariel - CR 1/4 Fey
A wind fairy that guides people and purifies souls, based on Ancient Magus Bride.

Ariels are doll-sized fairies that help to govern the winds. They are playful and mischievous, are drawn in by storms, and have some small ability to affect them. They have a wide variety of skin and hair colors, and although they have no physical sex, they do have genders. Ariels are born from thunderstorms in the First World, and those that find portals the material plane often try to charm or trick humanoids into returning to the First World with them, a prank that rarely ends well for their targets.
An ariel’s naturally high stealth allows it to hide while studying a target’s auras with its occult skill unlocks. Ariels are naturally good at reading people due to this, and place great value in the emotions and auras they perceive. If an ariel comes across a group of people living or traveling together, and believes that one person in the group is a significantly better person than another, it tends to openly and honestly tell the better person everything it knows and encourage them to break up. Those who don’t listen to an ariel’s relationship advice are much more likely to find themselves victims of pranks.
When casting piercing gust of wind, remember that decisions about a spell like its area don’t have to be made until the casting of the spell has completed.

Empath (Su) An ariel can use the Read Aura occult skill unlock as a full-round action instead of spending 10 minutes, and if it succeeds at its check, it also determines whether that creature is currently affected by a fear or mind-affecting effect and the relative strength of that effect (minor, moderate, strong, as defined in detect magic). The ariel doesn’t learn the nature of the effect or source of the effect.
Additionally, an ariel can use the Read Aura occult skill unlock multiple times per day, but can only do so once per minute, and takes a -4 penalty on its Will saves for 1 minute after doing so.
Piercing Gust of Wind (Sp) Once per day, an ariel can cast piercing gust of wind as a spell-like ability. This functions as the gust of wind spell, except that its casting time is a 1-round action, and it deals an additional 1d4 piercing damage to targets that fail the Reflex save.

Conversion Corner: PF2 Ancestry Rewind part 3
Sprite
Something fun about the way that Second Edition handles playable ancestries is making things that were previously unplayable without modification into playable creatures. In today’s case, it has given us a handful of related fey creatures, collectively known as sprites, as playable options, covering everything from familiar things like sprites, pixies, and grigs, as well as new creatures like the draconid draxies, the insectile and sugar-fiend melixies, and the fluffy bat-like nyctera.
Of course, I fully expect this ancestry to eventually be expanded on, as there are plenty of other sprite-like fey that they can draw upon, such as the courageous atomies, and the sociable liminal sprites, though admittedly in the latter case, if the liminal sprites are limited by their traditional curse, they might prove difficult to play as unless there is a good supply of entrances and windows for them to sleep in or near.
However, while this ancestry demonstrates the good the system can do, it also illustrates a major annoyance I have with it, being extremely strict about letting players have access to certain abilities, such as flight, and while they do give you the option to ignore the normal rules and just give them a fly speed, the power of complete flight is locked behind a feat chain by default, complete with a frankly patronizing in-universe reason for why they cannot fly, calling them “destined fey heroes of the material plane” that give up immediate flight for the potential to be greater (i.e. be player characters).
In any case, in general sprites is a common term for many diminutive species of fey, most being tiny humanoids with insectile wings, but some possess other traits, such as a tauric cricket lower body, animal or insectile features, and so on. In general, most among their kind are merry pranksters and endlessly curious, seeing the wonder in the world.
The playable stats below represent the standard “luminous” sprite.

Draxie: Descended from the reincarnated shards of a particularly powerful faerie dragon, draxies blend draconic traits with the sprite formula. They are deeply passionate about crafting the perfect joke or prank, and cultivate plans for years if need be, though they also tend to develop strong bonds with those they trust, as well.
Alternate Ability Adjustments +2 Dex, +2 Cha, -2 Wis
Alternate Abilities: Touch Telepathy: A Draxie can speak telepathically with any creature they are in direct physical contact with, regardless of language.
Draxie Breath: once per day, a draxie can breath a 15 ft cone of glittering particles, which has a random effect, and requires a Will Save (DC 11+Cha modifier) to resist. Roll a 1d4 to deterimine the effects.
-1 Targets that fail their save are charmed as charm monster for 1 minute
-2 Targets that fail their save lose the last 5 minutes of their memory as the modify memory spell
-3 Targets that fail their save are placed in a magical sleep, as the sleep spell
-4 Targets that fail their save are staggered and sickened, but also immune to fear for one round.
Languages: Draxies add Draconic to their base languages.
Grig: Having the lower bodies of crickets, grigs are well-known for their love of music and the arts.
Alternate Ability Adjustments: +2 Dex, +2 Cha, -2 Str
Alternate Abilities: Leaper: Grigs gain a +2 to Acrobatics checks to leap
Fiddle: As a standard action, Grigs can rub their hind limbs together to release a magical song, compelling foes to move to their beat, inflicting the staggered condition on those who fail their will save, (DC 10 + Cha modifier). The staggered condition lasts as long as the grig continues to spend a standard action to concentrate on it, up to a minute. Creatures that succeed their initial save are not affected on subsequent rounds. A grig can use this ability once per day.
Melixie: Dialing up their insectile traits with antennae, compound eyes, and more, melixies are notorious sugar fiends that can guzzle down sweets at an alarming rate, channeling the resulting energy into sudden bursts of productivity and creativity, only to crash later.
Alternate Ability Adjustments: +2 Con, +2 Cha, -2 Wis
Alternate Abilities: Arthropod speech: Melixies can speak to insects, arachnids, and other arthropods as if constantly under the effects of Speak with Animals.
Sugar Rush: When a melixie consumes a sweet confectionary or other sugary foodstuff, they are affected as if by haste for 1d4+1 rounds. After this effect ends, melixies are fatigued for 1 minute afterwards.
Nyktera: Resembling tiny humanoid bats of various species, nyktera are affectionate and community-oriented, with a legendary sense of hospitality. Woe betide the fool that betrays their hospitality or trust, though.
Alternate Ability Adjustments: +2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Str
Alternate Abilities: Bat Speech: Nyktera can speak to bats as if they were constantly under the effects of speak with animals.
Righteous Fury: A Nyktera gains a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls against an enemy that has betrayed them in the past.
Pixie: Pixies are larger than other sprites, but are no less inveterate pranksters. They are known for being able to turn invisible at will and enchanting arrows with their dust, but that is a skill that requires development.
Alternate Ability Adjustments: +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis
Alternate Abilities: Small: Pixies are small, rather than tiny, gaining a +1 on attack rolls and AC, a -1 to CMB and CMD, and a +4 to Stealth rolls, as well as having a reach of 5 ft.

1/ day: dispel magic, entangle, shield

How and When to use Nofollow Links and Follow Links
Everywhere you look online, there’s a link to click that leads you somewhere because we’ve been trained by Google to believe that links are necessary to rank our sites in search results. But that’s only partially true. If you really want to have good SEO and get that link juice from Google, you need to understand two things: nofollow links and follow links (sometimes referred to as dofollow links).
Nofollow and Follow Links: What’s the Difference?
It isn’t quite clear what they are to most people. After all, you click a link and follow it to where it points. So is a nofollow link just a link that you click and click and click, only for it to take you nowhere? No, though that would be a super funny prank to pull on your website visitors.
A nofollow link is actually a tag inside the HTML of the link (rel=”nofollow”) that tells search engines that you don’t want them to click the link, and therefore you will pass absolutely no link authority to the website you link to. A follow link then, or dofollow, is one without the rel=”nofollow” tag that tells search engines to follow it and let that site know you’re linking to it.
A nofollow link will look like this in your post or on your page:

Here’s the question most people ask: isn’t telling search engines to ignore the link and not pass juice selfish? To which we answer: No, not at all. You’re really helping them out as much as yourself if you correctly set up your rel=”nofollow” strategy.
Google’s algorithm for page rank takes into account two things for links:
the number of links from/to any given website
the quality of the website linking/being linked to
So let’s look at the reasons you’d use nofollow links, how you put them into your site, and when you want to eschew them in favor of good ole, SEO building follow links.
When and Why to Use Nofollow Links
You will find a lot of reasons to use nofollow links throughout your website. They may all be in different spots, too. Let’s break down some of the most common places and why you’re going to keep search engines from using the link for SEO.
1. Links in comments
If people can post links in comments, they will abuse that privilege. Especially of those are follow links. They can post a link to wherever, and your site will pass along PageRank and link juice. That is basically you vouching for the website weareabadwebsiteandwillbreakyourcomputer.com whenever someone posts a link there. You don’t want to do that. So nofollow those links. WordPress does this by default, actually.
By making your comments contain nofollow links, you also help facilitate discussion because real people’s comments and threads don’t get interrupted by meaningless comments. Doing this is good for everyone.
2. Distancing Yourself from Undesirables
Every content creator has done it at some point or another. Linked to a site that we knew was bad news, but for one reason or another needed them for a reference. Maybe you linked an infographic from a news site that you don’t want to be associated with. Perhaps there’s a scam or hack or scandal, and you link to it as a warning to your users, but don’t want to give them any boost in Google’s eyes. So you link to them but nofollow it. They may still get a few visitors, but you aren’t providing them a permanent boost.
3. The Whole Page is Irrelevant to your Niche
Let’s say that you have a bicycling store. If, for some reason, you post a blog about how to bake a cake or have a page on your site advertising a local storytelling festival. You link to a ton of relevant, cool resources for that topic. However, Google may look at the overall website and assume that page has been put there against your knowledge because it’s so different from your normal content. The search engine would assume that those were part of a Black Hat link building campaign and then penalize you for that. In this kind of instance, you can add a nofollow meta tag to your header. Then all the links on the page would become nofollow.
Fun fact: this is what the nofollow attribute was originally for. It was later adapted to be applied to individual links for better control.
4. You Have Been Paid to Include the Link
If you include sponsored content on your blog, that’s great. It’s a fantastic way to monetize a blog. We do exist in an influencer culture, after all. However, your readers need to know that the content is sponsored — and so do the search engines. Any time you have a link that is only on your website because you have been sponsored to put it there, it should not be a follow link. You absolutely, 100% need to include rel=”nofollow” on it.
Even if your contract doesn’t say specifically that you have to link to any particular website, only create the content, you still need to make everything related to it a nofollow link. To a product page, to the company’s website, to a contest form, anything. They are paying for referral traffic based on your audience, not link juice based on your PageRank. By the way, this also includes affiliate links. So add rel=”nofollow” to those, too, since you’re profiting from them.
5. The Link Appears on Multiple Pages in the Same Spot
Basically, if you have links in your sidebar that appear on each and every page on your site, mark them to be nofollow links. Because each time you make a post or update, a new backlink is generated, and eventually you will appear as one of the undesirables to Google. Footer links also fall into this, and, for instance, you run a design agency that links back to your home page on each client site, you may want to think about nofollowing it. People can still click the links, but you avoid Google penalties at the same time.
Why You May Want Nofollow Links to Your Website
There are a few times when you may actually want nofollow links on your site. Well, maybe not want them, but prefer them to the alternatives.
For instance, if you have the low-quality website weareabadwebsiteandwillbreakyourcomputer.com linking to you 3,000 times, that makes your website look suspect. Or if you have 50,000 different websites linking to your site with sidebar links on every page, you look suspicious because most of those pages aren’t relevant to your content. Plus, they’re identical.
Google’s Matt Cutts says in no uncertain terms that nofollow links will not hurt your rankings. They can only do that if you’re working on a spam campaign on a massive scale. He gives a quick rundown of why and how nofollow works in this video.

Referral Traffic
Either way, nofollow or follow links to your site are just that. Links. And people click links. Regardless of the algorithmic status of the links, people will click through to your site if it’s relevant to them. Which means that if someone links to you at all, you can get a huge increase in referral traffic. Just because they’re telling Google not to follow that link, they are telling their readers to do just the opposite. (Why else include the link?)
If you get linked on a major blog or news outlet or YouTube channel (all outbound links on YouTube are nofollow), they probably have themselves walled off against Google’s punishment by using nofollow across the board. But just because they aren’t passing along their massive volume of link juice doesn’t mean they aren’t helping you. Organic traffic is how you create an audience, engage with your users, and really establish yourself. Referral traffic from a major source, nofollow or not, is only going to help you.
How to Find Nofollow Links and Follow Links
If you want to find out if an individual page has follow links or not, it’s actually very simple to do so manually. Just right-click anywhere on the page that is not a link to bring up the context menu. Select View Page Source.
That will open up the page’s source code, and you can do a search by pressing CTRL/CMD – F and typing in nofollow. Any links that have the attribute will be highlighted for you.
This method works great if you happen to find a link to your site in a particular blog or article. It’s a quick and easy way to check for nofollow links. But unless you can manually scour every single page of the internet and look at their source code, you will need a tool specially designed for that.
Enter Moz Link Explorer
Moz’s Link Explorer is one of the best ways to check to see how many of your inbound links are tagged. While the Moz Pro service is premium, you can get 10 URL queries a month with a free account to check on your site.
Sign up and head to the Inbound Links tab in the left sidebar
Select nofollow from the Link Type dropdown
Look at the results repopulate with the nofollow flag
Check the spam score for the linking domain (the lower, the more legit)
Using a service like this (Ahrefs is another great one), you can keep track of who is pointing in your direction. Also, you can use the dropdown to see which are the most popular and useful follow links heading your way, too.
If, somehow, you find that you are being penalized because of a high amount of links from a few sites, you can always petition Google through the Google Search Console to simply discount those links. So if you think you should have nofollow links, you can essentially get them this way.
How to Use Nofollow Links
Setting up nofollow for individual links is pretty easy. In general, any page or post you create — regardless of platform — will give you the option to view/edit it as HTML. It may simply be called the Plain Text version or something similar. In WordPress, depending on your editor, it will either be called HTML (for Gutenberg) or Text (for the Classic Editor). Drupal, Joomla, etc. will all have similar functions.
When you see the code for the page or post, you just add rel=”nofollow” into the a flag as in #2 in the image below. No link juice would be passed to Moz. If, however, you look at #3, you have nothing impeding Ahrefs from getting the juice.
Adding the nofollow tag really is that simple. Just type it in.
If you prefer not to even mess with code that much, there are plugins and extensions to do this for you. On WordPress, you can add the attribute on a link-by-link basis with a plugin like Ultimate Nofollow. It’s a visual checkbox in the normal link-editing process.
On Drupal, you get the simply titled Link.
Joomla has meta NoFollow.
As you can see, it’s not hard to toss in the attribute to your follow links to turn them into something the engines ignore.
Follow Links: When, Why, and How
Now that we’ve covered the gamut of nofollow, let’s take a quick look at the dofollow links that will still likely make up the majority of your website.
How
To use follow links, all you have to do is not add nofollow. There is no follow attribute for HTML. They are all follow links by default. It takes something stepping in for it to become nofollow — such as WordPress defaulting comments to nofollow.
When
In general, you want follow links to be the norm. So you will want to use them the majority of the time. Keeping your links open like this will let search engines more accurately map your website and develop a sitemap — keep those internal links dofollow, remember. Also, most of the time you want to keep external links in the body of your content as dofollow. You would only want to mark them nofollow in the instances we discussed above.
Why
Because the internet is a social place, and we need to help each other out. That’s why Google prioritizes links into PageRank as highly as it does is. They want us to link out to other places. They just want us to link conscientiously and mindfully. Google wants us to share content that is relevant to readers and provides real value. If you’re creating content in a normal way, conscious of which sites you link to, and don’t try to game the system, follow links by default are definitely the way to go.
Conclusion
Links are the backbone of the internet. The whole web as we know it is based on hyperlinks, and we need to be sure that we’re treating them well so they treat us well. They increase your PageRank and provide juice to the target site. Links drive back-and-forth referral traffic. And your readers have content and resources that they will want to click on. When used the way they are meant to be used, both nofollow links and follow links are tools that serve specific purposes at specific times. And now you know what those are.

What is command prompt?
Command prompt is a terminal. A terminal is a text based process that allows commands. In this case command prompt is Windows’s terminal. Command prompt is often referred to as; cmd, windows command processor or even command shell.
Q: is CMD MS-DOS? A: No. However, it does include many of the commands that MS-DOS has
What is CMD used for?
CMD is used for many practices and can be used for the average day use. CMD is the not GUI alternative for your systems needs. With CMD you can do many more things windows can’t. CMD can be a massive time saver with its many commands. As anything to do with intermediate computer knowledge it will have rules, in this case we have syntax. CMD’s syntax is as easy as HTML! Wondering what CMD can do? Here are the things CMD is commonly used for:
Networking (Ipconfig, netstat, ping, ect)
File directories (mkdir, dir, cd)
Handy hardware info (system information, format, chkdsk, tree)
other (color, title,)
Where can CMD be found?
CMD can be found on all windows operating systems. This will include the popular; Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10.
When using these operating systems all you have to do is press the following:
Windows key - type CMD or command prompt - click it
Some commands require administrator. To get these to work do the following:
windows key - type CMD or command prompt - right click it - click run as administrator
Q: What if im not running Windows? A: Well there are command shells in other operating systems. For instance:
Linux’s CMD can be found by using CNTRL + ALT + T
MacOS’s CMD can be found by opening applications - utilities - terminal
Fun commands!
For these exercises we will be using windows’s CMD. So to get you started lets do some fun things in CMD. Make sure to have CMD open. Try these following commands!
color a (This will make your text turn green. Using numbers and letters will change the text and background of CMD)
time 12:00:00.00 (this will allow you to change the time to the millisecond)
title The console (this will allow you to change the title
cls (This will clear the command prompt)
tree c: (This will show a diagram of your file directories in your C drive)
Useful commands!
These are the ease of life commands, the cream of the crop. With these it can reduce your time performing functions in windows.
dir (this will show your whole file directory. This includes the files in them. Try dir a* or dir *.ini. For file extensions the * comes first but for regular names the * comes last
tasklist (this shows the concurrent running programs)
taskkill /IM (this will force shutdown any process put after taskkill. Be careful with this one)
shutdown (this will either turn off your system or restart it or log it off. There are also other functions. -s is shutdown, -l is logoff, -r is restart, -t is timer, -hybrid prepares a fast bootup for the next time the system is turned on, -a stops a shutdown function, -sg is to shutdown but restart the applications upon next boot, /c is the comment. Try shutdown -s -t 999 /c “Will turn off in 999 seconds”)
Making a .bat/.cmd file
For this you will need notepad open. Now you have it open copy or write the following

[I didn't much care for the Pathfinder 1e version of the rokurokubi. Not that it's a bad monster; it's a fun take on the rokurokubi as a hag. But it's not a good representation of the actual folkloric entity. The rokurokubi is one of many yokai that seem to exist as a way of entertaining male anxieties about women, particularly in the context of a society as patriarchal as Edo period Japan. So many yokai look like beautiful women... but then they getcha! And a lot of them getcha because you deserved it. These yokai start as humans, and then form from the abused, the neglected and the downtrodden. These people don't have a real voice in society, but turning into a monster lets them act out. Sound familiar?
Which is why, even though the Paizo's 2e rokurokubi has acceptable art, I'm not using it. Because it's a man, and rokurokubi are women in the stories nine times out of ten. Plus, I'm posting this for Monster Girl Summer.]
Rokurokubi CR 3 CN Monstrous Humanoid This woman is beautiful, but clearly monstrous, as she has a neck that is twice the length of the rest of her body.
A rokurokubi is a cursed creature that represents the adage “turnabout is fair play”. The misdeeds of a person, particularly a wealthy, egotistical and stingy one, can cause their child, lover or other person close to them to become a rokurokubi. This especially occurs if the person to become a rokurokubi is abused, as it empowers them to strike back at their tormentor. Rather than sleep, the newly formed yokai begins to play pranks in the night, anything from drinking all the lamp oil to startling people by peering around corners to inflicting bloody wounds. They prefer to ruin lives and reputations rather than kill, at least initially. Most rokurokubi end up quite enjoying their new state, and move around in society after having dealt with their initial oppressor.
Many rokurokubi live their lives as uninhibited and hedonistic people most of the time, revealing their monstrosity in order to get something they want or to lash out at someone who is rude to them. Their necks can be as short as that of an ordinary (albeit willowy) person, or as long as a constrictor serpent's whole body. Their teeth are sharp and inflict bloody wounds, and they are experts at scaring people. Perhaps the strangest ability of a rokurokubi is its ability to drink oil and heal from it. Even alchemical bombs can be swallowed safely, if the rokurokubi manages to catch them in their teeth.
Rokurokubi can form from any type of humanoid, although most of them are human. In patriarchal societies, women more frequently turn into rokurokubi than men, but any sex and gender is possible. They have the lifespan ordinary to members of their original species. A few rokurokubi reject this, making pacts with shadowy powers for immortality—these are the universally sinister rokurobabas.

If it succeeds, it takes no damage and instead heals 1 hit point per die of damage that would ordinarily be dealt.
